#and why did he almost immediately get over the “friend's” death and it became as if the guy wasn't even a big factor in the dude's life????

call me weird but I think rom-coms without the forced "hate each other but also wanna fuck each other" chemistry (let's be honest, there's some where it's such a stretch it's ridiculous) and without the "love interest does some sketchy as fuck shit that should really have this story end with a restraining order or is entirely stupid/offensive but gets played off as The Most Romantic Thing Ever" can totally be great.

BEING ROOMMATES WITH COLLEGE MODERN AU! AANG:
𓇢𓆸°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・prompt: in a world where the Alta world didn’t have a war and it was just a peaceful modern life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚being roommates with the avatar as you are just a non bender is either peaceful or chaos.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚oh you’re sleeping in? If classes were cancelled, he’s sleeping in with you as a appa and momo plushie is beside you. If classes weren’t cancelled, he’s sending a light blast of air to your bed to lift you up. You were startled and immediately started chasing Aang around pissed off while he laughs his ass off.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚movie nights are an absolute must. Cause Aang is a person who likes to hang out with people he feels comfortable with. So you better expect him to ask you to choose, he loves to know more about you.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚this man deadass almost burnt the dorm room down and you were panicking until he put it out with his airbending. Aang looks back at you still shaken up. He sighs going over to you, making sure you were okay. He hated to see you scared and he apologized by ordering your favorite food instead.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚Aang could possibly teach you history if you asked him. I mean, he was sealed in ice 100 years ago at most. You would hesitate as this bald headed roommate of yours just wait with a patient smile.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚he does take you to visit the air temple he came from. At the southern air temple, he shows you how he did the air scooter. You laugh and smile until he sped past you making you fall. You got up angrily and chased after him as he laughs.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚this little Mr clean ripoff asshole ate your leftovers once. And for once Aang saw death himself seeing you actually catch up to him around the apartment. AND HE WAS IN AVATAR STATE TRYING TO DODGE YOU THROWING SHOES AT HIM. 😭
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚one peaceful day/night was when it was just raining that whole time. You had told Aang that rainy days/nights make you tired fast. So when you fell asleep on the couch while watching tv and listening to the rain, he laid beside you. Having his tall body on you as you snore peacefully. Even momo joined, leaping on Aang’s head. It was just a calm moment the whole night/day.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚if you’re stressed and overstimulated by your classes and work. Aang is literally gonna hug you, and might as well try to do your work for you. He’s such a good friend and roommate. He looks behind him to see you sleeping peacefully with momo. He smiles, feeling happy that you are getting the rest you need.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚now if Aang seemed tired or overstimulated. He’s either being alone, or going into your arms for a hug since a hug is what everyone needs sometimes. He is deadass having his head in your neck and passing out. I feel like the reason why he is just tired is trying to keep the peace in the 4 nations to not make a war happen just in case.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚arguing over who’s answer is right is everyday of your life with him as your roommate. He’s somehow got 11 as an answer on a math question while you got 80 as an answer. You two were about to throw hands until Zuko came by and told you two dumbasses that the real answer was 20…
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚if you’re sick at dorm, he’s blowing up your phone while he is at class taking notes. He doesn’t care if he gets scolded or made fun by the gaang for worrying that much about you. He just wants you to get better so he can hug you without getting sick himself. Aang might as well make momo force you to medicine.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚you once accidentally snored on him, Aang snickered of course. But he wrapped his arm around you gently to make sure you won’t wake up or feel uncomfortable. He’s smooth like that.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚after being roommates for like 2 semesters, you guys became close friends. You would wear matching hoodies, shirts, etc. cause Aang is an affectionate person, he wants to make sure you have a friend to lend a shoulder on. He’s that guy who you could talk and rant to for hours and he will listen to you closely.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚you still smack his head as a joke to hear that impact. And yes Aang will blast your ass away from him and put you in ice prison or rock prison from his bending. He’s not playing games. See if you were heavy handed, it’s justified to have you in prison of rock or ice. Now if you were to have your hand wasn’t heavy but light, even if you try to hit hard. Aang is making fun of how “weak” you are.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚imagine how chaotic it would be at night if you two did a horror movie night. Screaming together and just start tweaking out at each jumpscare and every time the suspense was too much. Yeah both of you didn’t sleep until you guys were holding each other closely. With Aang having his arms wrapped around your waist and you having your arms around his neck. You jumped scared at a jumpscare, making you shiver into Aang’s neck. Aang had enough and turned the movie off, picking you up bridal style and taking you to bed.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚that time when Aang had his hair grown out, you tried to do small baby pig tails with his short hair. Aang relaxes at your touch as he almost falls asleep until you were done. “Ta-da! I’m done, go look bro.” You say patting his cheek. He lifted his head from your lap and walked to the bathroom mirror. He must say, he did look absolutely funny. But he looked “fabulous” is what you said. That was until he shaved his hair again to match his culture.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚i feel like being roommates personally with Aang would actually be calm sometimes. Considering you two have such chemistry together during these college times. He definitely has an album of you on his phone. He’s the type of friend to remember everything about you specially. And not in a weird way but like a “okay noted, get them this favorite snack when they are in a bad mood” way. But mostly he takes selfies with you by his side. Hide all you want. You are not missing this selfie.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚if there’s a fair around, he’s getting you all the stuff animals. You would have to drag him away from his yellow and red hoodie from the shotgun game. You were embarrassed by the stares people got at how the avatar was getting dragged by a simple adult man/woman like you. But honestly it’s fun with Aang at a fair cause he makes sure you have fun as well. Sharing cotton candy was the first thing in his mind as he pays the person and holds the cotton candy. You felt flustered sharing the cotton candy cone from his hand as he just laughs at how cute you seemed.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚Aang and you definitely had been asked if you guys are together. You would immediately try to tell the person no as Aang is trying to either process the accusation, or make it worse by telling them that you both are. Playfully of course.
🎐˚。⋆୨୧˚taking calm summer walks, and that summer air just hitting your face and his. It’s just relaxing. You two talk to each other, probably wanting to go to republic city for shopping for more groceries or such. You notice the sun setting as you smile, the golden ray of sun hitting your face. Aang looks at you lovingly while you talk about how beautiful the sun is. Aang agrees, still looking at you whilst you two sit down on the soft green grass.

Regrets - suguru geto
-> suguru's life flashes before him and reminisces the time he had with you.
It is the summer of Japan 2009, when suguru geto decides to leave jujutsu high.
He meets with shoko, who's taking a puff out of her cigarette as per usual, when he's already been branded as a traitor.
She treated him the same, as if he didn't just massacre a whole village and became a curse user, burst out shocked when he revealed his plans to her.
He was glad that shoko, his dear friend, met him with open arms, didn't question anything he didn't feel open to answer, she let him take his time. That was all that he could wish for.
Even his one and only best friend, satoru gojo, as much as he didn't want to, he did. He tried to talk to satoru face to face, tried to memorise the vulnerable look on satoru's face, his bright blue eyes and his shape jaw. He memorised satoru's kind and friendly expression that he knew the next time they met would end up cold and menacing. Although, he couldn't face satoru the whole time, he couldn't bear to (because he knew he regret his choices immediately)
He knew by leaving satoru like that he would be devastated, would feel as if geto had just torn his limbs off one by one and that almost made geto think twice.
But he knew, knew that he had to try, had to give it a chance and for once even if he had to leave everything behind and start anew, so he placed what he wanted above what satoru or you wanted or what anyone wanted in general.
And that's why he refused to say anything to you.
Days before he made his decision, he flinched away from your touches, refused to look at you in the eye during your usual sparings, refused to hold you. He saw it, the hurt flash in your eyes when he moved his hand back, your hand helplessly dangling in the air.
And that one time when he had been walking to his room back from practice, he had heard sniffles coming from your room. He knew, he knew it was him that caused you the pain. He knew everything.
He had wanted to barge in and hug you tight like he always did, when he uttered that he was never going to leave you deep in the nights when the both of you were huddled together under his blankets, clothes that were once worn now thrown onto the floor, the musky smell of sex feeling the air.
He squeezed you tighter and hugged you closer. Even when if he felt the discomfort of skin sticking to skin, the only thing he had on his mind was how much he loved you, how much he had wanted to stay by your side, how much he had just wanted to be yours in a normal life, not as jujutsu sorcerers.
And curse him for thinking this way as he covered haibara's dead body with nanami slumped in the corner, arm covering his eyes as he blamed himself for the boy's death. And that's when it had hit him that no, not in this life.
So he refused to let himself sink deeper in your warmth, refused to second think his choice, refused to see your lips spreading apart as you whispered to him how much you loved him, refused to see the tears spilling on your face (he knew he would cave in and kiss those tears away), refused to see you, feel you.
And that might be one of the things geto regrets as he sits slumping against the wall, right after his battle with the jujutsu high students.
He hears satoru's footsteps getting heavier and finally pausing, hearing satoru crouch down to face him. He tilts his head just a tiny bit, wincing at the pain that shoots through over that tiny action.
If satoru yelled at him, hit him, or even cursed him, he would have felt better, would have felt that everything he chose to do was worth it.
But as satoru gently smiled at him, eyes softening as he spoke to suguru, everything that he did hit him like a wave.
And suddenly, the only thing he could think about was you.
On nights when he felt lost, on nights when he debated going back, turning himself in, he would think of you.
He would think of how much he missed waking up to you, of your giggles, of the way you would have a habit of bitting the lips that he loved to kiss, of the way you would scrunch your eyebrows at satoru as you hid your smile, and of the way you would stare up at him with eyes full of love, as if no one compared to him and the only thing in your mind was suguru geto.
He had wanted to marry you, grow old with you, have kids with you, wake up by your side every day and hear the soft tone you always had that he could never get tired of whenever you called him 'suguru' (he could already tell from the warm pit in his stomach that you would be the death of him)
And suddenly, geto wishes he had bid you goodbye, that he had seen you one last time before he closes his eyes forever.
He smiles sourly to himself and resigns to his fate, until he hears familiar soft padding of footsteps.
He recognises those footsteps as ones that he had heard countless of times during his youth. The sounds continued on and grew increasingly louder until they were directly in front of him and black pristine shoes came into his view.
As you crouched down, the shoes were replaced with the image of your face, your hair having grown from last time and your features having been more accentuated than the last time he had seen you. He thinks you're ethereal and fuck, he wishes that he had chosen to stay behind instead.
You who he had avoided, you who he left without a proper goodbye, you who only smiled softly with him, the same softness and fondness still there, love and sadness filling your eyes.
Your palm rested against the side of his face, thumb stroking his cheek and geto leans in to enjoy the familiar warmth.
Although more matured and older, you're the same as he remembers.
He thinks maybe, if just maybe, what if he had pushed away his thoughts, what if he gave in to the warmth you were so willing to share, what if he gave in to the sweet morning kisses, what if he gave in to you.
He would have been in a different situation, probably having his legs tangled up with yours under the sheets right now, you staring up at him with that sweet smile of yours and love shining in your eyes.
But he realises, even with regrets, he has things he doesn't.
And so as he drifts off, he echoes in his mind :
In the next life, I promise, when we're normal humans, I'll find you and I won't let you go.
Thanks for reading !! My first post on tumblr😭😭 still trying to figure out some of the writng settings in the meantime, enjoy this slight angst :>

THE FIELD WAS CLEAR OF PEOPLE. YOU WERE THE ONLY OPPONENT THERE.
You cautiously approached the nearby boulder, your equipment causing quite a ruckus. You held onto it, hoping it would silence the noise, and luckily, it did.
The gun you held was close to your chest. You couldn’t make any sudden movements or you would die.
This was serious, at least for you.
“Are you okay in area A?” The voice in your earpiece asked, startling you.
You pressed down on the item, getting rid of the static noise and replied with a, “Yes. It’s clear.” while informing your teammate, Niki, of the situation.
“Great, I’ll be there soon.” His voice became a whisper, causing you to hear him less. Why did he go quiet? What was happening on his end?
Worry began to fill your system as you adventured out further into area A. You had to find him stat.
“Niki, are you okay? Where are you?” You asked, slightly concerned. Although your mind was filled with many thoughts, you still focused on your surroundings, looking in every direction for your next target.
“I’m fine—” His words were interrupted by the sound of a gunshot, startling both of you. All you heard through his end was a shushing noise that was directed at you. He knew how much you would worry and he couldn’t have you babbling in his ear.
Not right now at least.
You tried your best to stay quiet, running through the field to find your teammate. You couldn’t lose him. That would hurt too much.
You broke the barricade on the door with the back of your gun, rushing through the maze.
“Shit,” you muttered. This was quite complicated. You kept arriving at dead ends, frustration making its way to you.
Footsteps became louder as you ran through the maze, indicating that you were close to Niki and whoever he was with.
You pressed down on your earpiece as another shot rang through your ears. Your hands began to shake, he couldn’t die. There was no way in hell you would let him.
“I’m here,” you whispered, crouching as you walked to the middle of the maze, approaching the opponent from behind.
You held up your gun, looking through the scope while aiming for the opponent's head. As you shot his head, he did the same, shooting Niki right in the arm.
The boy stumbled on his feet, slouching over while revealing Niki’s stunned face in the process. Your eyes widened.
This couldn’t be happening right now.
You lowered your gun with slightly shaky hands as your eyes slowly turned to the red spot on his arm. Redness trickled down his arm, making its way to the palm of his hands.
It dripped from the tips of his fingers, almost looking like a blood fountain.
Out of instinct, you dropped your gun and ran towards Niki immediately, passing by your groaning opponent.
“Are you okay?” You asked while holding his arm. When there was no answer, you looked at him worried. He smiled at you, placing his hand on top of yours.
“You’re shaking,” he said in an attempt to calm you down.
“I’m fine.” He reassured you as your eyes searched his.
“Gosh, you guys are so dramatic! It’s paint, Y/N, paint.” A voice said. Suddenly, the scenery of a maze built with green hedges was then turned into a maze with black walls. They had a wall trim of red that lit up, it was cool.
“Your imagination is something else. How do you imagine that we’re out on a battlefield?” They asked as you both turned to look at them.
“I’m definitely going to get a headache after this one.” Your friend, Allen, said while rubbing the back of his head.
“Why do you have such a good aim in paintball?” He complained while bringing his hand down to see the green paint all over it. It will be difficult to wash his hair tonight.
“Anyways, you guys win. Gunwook got out a while ago.” He sighed while placing his gun on the ground. You smiled in satisfaction.
“I think I was too invested in this match. Was I really shaking?” You asked, embarrassed. Niki replied with something you didn’t want to see, a nod.
“Yeah, you’re so dramatic.” He teased while laughing as you hit him in his chest.
“Ouch, I have a wound remember. I’m an injured person.” He said, signalling at the wet paint on his arm. You stuck out your tongue, putting it back in your mouth a second later.
Niki took this opportunity to lean down and lay a peck to your lips, leaving you stunned.
“Don’t do that.” You muttered, but he just smiled.
“No promises.” He replied, smile growing even more as he placed a kiss to your cheek, then forehead, and finally your lips again.
“Gross, man. Do it somewhere else.” Allen exclaimed with pure disgust on his face and walked away.
1 point for Niki and Y/N and 0 points for Allen and Gunwook.

how you and chishiya met/started daiting
Tumblr media
do not give permission for my fics to be posted claiming to be yours, translated, or posted on another platform without credit.
cw- season 2 spoilers?? gn reader, mentions of death, blood, injurys, nirgai, reader being a member of the beach, reader and kuina being the best bestie, chishiya pretending to be readers bf, the smallest bit of swearing, kissing, the smallest bit of drinking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
❥ you guys first met in a game
❥ it was a hearts one
❥ he was impressed on how you survived at the end considering usually only one person does in heart games
❥ you never talked or interacted too much in the game tho
❥ the second/actual time you met was at the beach
❥ you became a part of the beach before him
❥ when you got back from the heart game you told hatter about him.
❥ you figured he could be of use.
❥ and boy were you right.
❥ after some convincing hatter told kuina to try and 'recruit' him.
❥ to your surprise chishiya actually came.
❥ everyone could tell his gaurd was way up and he had no intention of letting it down
❥ you and kuina had met in the borderland and had quickly become good friends, so it was expected that kuina quickly noticed how you felt about chishiya.
❥ in the time span of a few months, somehow, kuina ended up becoming almost as close to chishiya as she was with you.
❥ though, with you and kuina being close, alot of the times kuina was hanging out with chishiya you were there too
❥ kuina is fr your guys' biggest shippers
❥ she saw right through chishiya and his whole 'she could just be another sacrifice' thing
❥ the first time chishiya showed that he actually cared about you was after you came back from a game.
❥ you had gotten a spades game. in other words a physical one. usually spade games were nothing to you as you were quite athletic and enjoyed running and exercising of the sorts.
❥ however this one was tough.
❥ you had the rest of the players were trapped in a room where the walls were covered in spikes with no way out except a door on the ceiling, but you had to climb up the spikes to get to said door.
❥ you had fallen a few times, which earned you a pained back and ribs, along with some gashes on your hands, thighs, and forearms.
❥ you often came back from games complacently fine, rarely with blood on you.  if you did, it was often other peoples.
❥ so it caught chishiya's attention when you had returned to the beach holding onto your thigh, struggling to walk with ripped clothes.
❥ luckily he quickly saw ann come over to you and start to tend to you.
❥ "are they going to be ok?" chishiya asked kuina
"hmm.. why do you care? theyre just another sacrifice." kuina smirked.
 "no theyre not!"
kuina looked at chishiya in shock. that was the most emotion shes ever seen him express.
however chishiya let out a shallow breath composing himself. "no. theyre not." he repeats. this time though it was said how he would say anything else.
❥ chishiya never told you about him and kuinas conversation. there was no need to.
❥ kuina, however, did.
❥ when niragi first joind the beach, chishiya immediately felt off about him.
❥ chishiya's suspicions were soon proven right when he started seeing nirgai trying to get close to you. multiple times. even after youve clearly expressed how uncomfortable you were.
❥ nirgai was at it again, standing in front of you after a executives meeting. he was continuously reaching his arm out trying to put it on your waist.
seeing as how nirgai wouldnt stop chishiya took it appon himself to help.
chishiya came over to the two of you and draped his arms over your shoulders.
"what the fuck are you doing?"- nirgai
"im their boyfriend, what the fuck are you doing?"
❥ after the two of them going back and forth for a bit nirgai finally gave up.
❥ you sighed and leaned against chisiya
❥ you felt him tense up when you leaned on him. "thank you" you told him. "of course."
❥ you were the first one to make an actual move obvi.
❥ you had gotten back from a game slightly hurt.
❥ ann couldnt help you this time since she was still at a game when you got back so chishiya offered to help you.
❥once he was done you asked if you could stay in his room until the others got back to which he surprisingly said yes to.
❥ one thing led to another and some how -you dont even remember how- you found yourself softly kissing him.
❥ however the kiss didnt last long from chishiya quickly pulling away.
❥ "no- no i cant let you in"- chishiya
"you can. itll just take some time."- you
❥ kuina noticed how slightly different you two were acting around each other when it was just the three of you.
❥ she knew you guys liked each other but she just thought you guys were still oblivious to the others feelings
❥ the three of you were hanging out in the bar when chishiya leaned over you getting something for you that you couldnt reach.
❥ "oh my god just kiss already!" kuina exclaimed, drink in her hand.
'did you tell her anything?' chishiya mouthed to you.
'no!' you mouthed back.
"holy shit you already did! when? y/nnn why didnt you tell me??"

prompt: ghost retired from task force 141. soap takes a journey through their whole relationship, thinking where it went wrong. part 1 of ?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
John MacTavish is a brave man.
At least, he likes to think of himself like this. He has proven multiple times that he is brave. First and foremost, he tried to enroll to the SAS a few times; and it wasn't important that every time he was caught lying about his age, it was the fact that he still tried, despite the amused looks on the recruiter's faces. He remembered all of them, including that damn question he had to answer thousands of times: why do you want to be in the army so early?
Stupid question. Question that, every time, he answered with: why not? In his eyes, he was way more mature than most of the boys his age (an obvious lie, he was maybe even less mature), more skilled than them and would make a perfect fit for the army. What was important too, he could stand his ground without any troubles - besides the one, the one that his mother always scolded him about. His mouth was way too honest, causing him many problems.
Thankfully, those problems weren't military ones; men actually dismissed him with a small smile on their face and a reminder that he could "join later" and be useful then. Obvious bullshit, but after some time, John took that seriously and started training on his own to be prepared.
And he was prepared. Still is, due to strict training in military and at bootcamps that he worked his ass off, trying to be the best of the best, trying to be the best sniper, demolitions expert. He thought of every detail, knowing that if he wants to be remembered, he has to be remembered for something good. For something that people will be envious of.
Paid off, since he passed it with the highest marks on all 3 phases; he cursed in his mind at Gaz being a few seconds quicker than him with the record, but he was the youngest to pass the SAS selection in history, so he guessed it was good to give his rival – later best friend – the first place in something.
He was also brave on the missions; he still remembers his first one, even if he has actual two first ones. First one as a soldier, and first one as a Task Force 141 member.
Soldier one was tough. He didn't really know what to expect at first, if he's gonna be more engaging with civilians, or put into the crossfire; and he quickly understood that right in the middle of war, there's no such thing as knowing what's gonna come.
Death, feeling like a failure, trying to bottle everything up for the sake of the mission just to slowly rot inside, if you're not gonna keep up with it. Thankfully, John somehow knew what he was signing up for, so it came easier for him, but he saw guys that didn't make it far as he did.
In moments like this, he is thankful.
Johnny definitely prefers to think of the first mission with the Task Force, though. He waited for the time like this enough to be excited like a kid on Christmas day, jumping around to unwrap all the gifts. For him, gifts were new adventures to get, goals to accomplish, things to prove, since he was the youngest on the team. Price told him that, when he called him, Soap immediately sent his mum a text about the team he became a part of.
He came back home wasted, but it was for a good cause, after all.
For those who know Johnny enough, it isn't a surprise that he remembers everything about his first day. The weather, how he almost thought he's gonna be late for the first meeting because some moron bumped into his car, his nervousness, how he almost vomited, greetings with everyone on the team.
Over time, Kyle Garrick quickly becomes his best friend, and a keeper of secrets that Johnny has. Maybe it's because he's closer to age with him than with others, maybe similar experiences, but he really is someone that he can talk to without feeling any boundaries between them. Even if he is the holder of the record that he felt envious of (for a moment), somehow MacTavish doesn't feel like this anymore, he's more impressed, if it's possible.
Over time, John Price is easily his mentor. Someone that he looks up to, someone that he remembers from his past, when he was only training. A living legend that he wishes to be in the future, and now he's in his team. Johnny knows that if he'd tell anyone from his previous unit where he is, they'd be jealous. And for a reason; Price isn't just some captain that exists, he's a captain that everyone respects, and that's what matters.
Over time, Simon Riley… is still an enigma that Soap wishes to understand more, if it would be even a possibility. It's not – the man speaks less than a monk, wears his skull face all the time so he can't even take a peek at his face (he thinks it is pretty, though), but cracks jokes that usually belong to dads or uncles at weddings. Every time he thinks he knows something about his comrade, it collapses right in the moment.
No matter how MacTavish tries to talk with him longer, no matter how he nudges him so he sends him judgy looks, it's not enough. He's not the problem, he knows, Ghost is like this to everyone, but somehow that infuriates him even more, since he always found a way.
To everyone, and yet somehow isn't adding.
First serious interaction, where Soap can feel like he cares, happens where Graves betrays them and he's on the run. It feels like playing with death, after being shot in the arm, after feeling like he's on his own. After feeling like something that he finally had control of, it turned into ashes really fast. They weren’t even comrades for that long, they had so many things to live through together, and—
"Johnny, how copy?"
His heart nearly skips a beat when he hears that. Suprassing a groan of pain, he moves his arm a little; it fucking hurts, but it's good. Nerves are still there. "Missed my ass, LT?"
He hears scoff on the other side of the line. "You're the only one I can trust right now, sergeant. Thought you're dead in the ditch somewhere."
He knows It's probably better to ignore that warm feeling in his chest. "Never."
Everything after this, feels like a video game that he likes to play from time to time, not real life. Trying to get to church, trying to survive while Shadow Company is hunting not only his ass, but also Ghost's – and on Johnny's mind is also Alejandro. Is he alive?
He has many questions, and no one to actually answer him, but having Simon on comms somehow eases his mind, especially when he serves all those dad jokes. For the first time, it's Soap that doesn't know what to tell him, he is the one who speaks less, and it feels like a good break from the usual routine.
Surely, it would be even better if the conditions of the whole banter would be a little… calmer, without anyone on their back, but he had to cherish what he has. He supposes it won't last long, probably after everything will be right he'll get back to his usual, grumpy self, but it's the thought that counts.
John is quite pleased to see that he was wrong, when they're in the bar, after a mission; Task Force 141 back together, as well as members of Los Vaqueros back in Las Almas. Thoughts about how he would want to stay there for a longer time to help flood all over him, until the seat next to him cracks under Ghost's weight.
Soap bites his tongue before he says a joke about this. Bad habit, but he learned the hard truth over the years that sometimes he needs to shut up, especially if he cares about having his relationships in check. And, to be honest, he don't want to upset his lieutenant after he was so… caring for him.
"Everything's good, LT?" He tilts his head, observing how Simon sips his whiskey without even frowning at the strongness of the alcohol; couldn't be him.
"Tired, MacTavish," he replies, eyeing him up and down; lazily, like he doesn't really have the power to do this, but he wants to. At least, Soap thinks this way. It's a giddy feeling. "Your arm?"
"My arm?" he fires the question right back, without much thinking about it. Riley's one look gets him back to shape, and he suddenly knows what he was asking about. "Eh, 's… good. Hurts still, but should be good. Doctor told me 's nothin' too serious and—"
"—Why you thought 'm not gonna help you?" Ghost interrupts him.
It's not harsh like usual, when Johnny blabbers too much, and irritates his lieutenant with information that doesn't need to be said out loud. This one feels like a genuine question that he thought of for a while, and it makes sergeant all tingly inside.
Weird; because why Simon needs to know this? Does it bother him that Scot felt like he wouldn't help him, and he'd die on the streets like a dog? Or, worse: be tortured by Shadow Company, then he would eventually die, if Graves would feel generous enough.
"It's…" he gulps. His grasp around glass tightens, he doesn't even realize that only ice is left here, when he plays with it. "You didn't have to. Situation was rough, everythin' blew the fuck up. Wouldn't blame ya if you would leave me, happens."
Guy with the skull balaclava hums, like he gets his way of thinking. For a few seconds, there's an awkward silence between them, chatter from other people and music being the only sound. "We're a team, Johnny. Not gonna let you die on me anytime soon, do you hear me?"
He nods, but it's not enough for Simon. Johnny almost squeaks, when he grabs his chin unexpectedly, forcing him to look into his brown eyes. Dark, darker than the beer that he's currently drinking. "What the—"
"—do you hear me, sergeant?"
It takes all in his will not to kiss him, but Johnny knows that's not the situation like in the movies he watched with his sister; not like the movies, where the main character is adored by a silent, grumpy guy just because he loves them. That's just another situation with his lieutenant who should really seek therapy to talk better with people that he cares about because grunting out answers ain't really the way.
Johnny at least thinks he cares about him a little. He wants him to. "I do hear."
"Good."
And this is how the whole story gets interesting. Tracing Makarov, figuring out what they should do about Shepherd being an asshole, but first and foremost, interacting as a team. As Task Force 141.

Sweet Slumber
Tumblr media
Pairings: Geto Suguru x Reader
Warnings: angst with no comfort.
Summary: Geto was your light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, it ran out of fuel way too soon.
a/n: God, I choked up towards the end. Something about suguru's downfall deeply resonates with me, and i can't help but cry about it on a weekly basis.
Tumblr media
When you first met your senior Geto Suguru, all you could think about was how your world seemed to stop. To say his sharp features were ethereal would be an understatement.
When Y/N Y/L/N first arrived at jujutsu tech, she didn't know what she would tangle herself into.
"Good morning I am Yu Haibara" the dark haired kid greeted you cheerfully which you politely returned. "I'm so excited to have another first year" Yu continued "we have another classmate. His name is Nanami Kento. He is on the grumpier side but I just know we will be a great trio". His contagious smile is doing wonders on you right now. Both you and Yu went to your classroom where you noticed the lanky blonde who you noted to be Nanami. The two of you indulge Yu in a conversation as your teacher entered along with three other students.
That is when you saw him in all his glory. The love your life, The cause of your death.
Soon they introduced themselves and so did you people. The white haired loud one was Gojo Satoru and His raven haired friend, the object of your immediate attraction Geto Suguru and The short haired brunette Shoko Ieiri whom you could see yourself hanging out with. The day melted away with your seniors' shenanigans and nanami's irritable attitude doubling over gojo.
That night you tried to shake your head as thoughts of your senior filled your head and it seems it wasn't exactly one sided.
Over the next 3 months your life flourished along with your ever blooming crush on Geto Suguru. The small talk and fleeting eye contact soon became midnight snack run meetings and lasting touches.
You cannot exactly pinpoint when and how you started dating. Gradually you were inseparable. You were each other's safe space for Suguru taught you what soulmates meant. Hand holding to kissing to getting lost together under your sheets, it was blissful. Beautiful. A dream.
But alas dreams sometimes morph into nightmares.
Suguru and Satoru were assigned a mission to protect the star plasma vessel. The mission went as horrible as one could think. That day Geto suguru lost a lot more than the life of Riko Amanai. He lost his way. What followed was a series of events that lead to the darkest day of your life.
Suguru looked dull. His warm smile felt empty and almost like a charade. "Sugu you are really worrying me". As you watched your beloved boyfriend slowly destroy himself, all you could do was mourne not even knowing what it is you were mourning. The rock bottom soon dug itself deeper when you and your classmates were assigned what seemed like a simple kill and come mission but oh god was that not the case.
Geto's pain multiplied the moment he lost his junior to death and his girlfriend to a coma.
The negative emotions spiraled. Losing his true north took a toll on him in ways more than one. He prayed he begged he screamed he shouted. "why" he thought. These emotions birthed clarity. Clarity that was against everything he stood for.
Soon all he was was hate.
The day you regained consciousness was a few days too late. The man you loved was no longer a man but a ravenous murderer out for revenge.
When Shoko updated you on the current situation, you thought it was bullshit. Of course you did. How could Geto Suguru ever be anything bad in your eyes.
The silent night that followed, you found yourself near the little creek at the edge of your school grounds. A place you hold dear. A place where you shared your first kiss with suguru.
"beautiful night huh" you turn around to face the owner of the familier night. "sugu" Your voice cracks "i knew they were lying". She approached the raven haired man with desparacy. "I'm glad you came. lets clear out this misunderstanding and-and we can go back to normal". The tears were barely holding as you clutch onto suguru.
"whoever said it's a misunderstanding dear". All it took to break the lie you were telling yourself. "WHY" you sobbed.
"I'm doing the jujutsu world a favour darling" he spoke. Not a slight intonation of guilt in his words. "I thought I'd take you with me. We'd reform this society together" his hands caressed your cheek "but". What followed was the most agonizing moment of your life. The man you saw your entire life with just lodged a dagger through your heart both literally and metaphorically "you remind me of my humanity".
He kissed you one last time before he laid you down on the soft grass. As he stared at your lifeless body, he knew he would never know peace.

──────────────────────
It was the next day, maybe more like few hours after what happened. You didn’t sleep, couldn’t even think about going to bed as your eyes were wide open from the very moment of your near death experience. When you got home that night, you immediately went to the bathroom, falling under the warm stream of water that slowly warmed up your frozen skin. Not caring about getting out of your dress, you sat there in your tub, watching the dirt and blood get washed out into the drain and you just wished that also the memories would.
You felt like throwing up. Thinking about how you just watched someone get murdered before your own eyes while almost getting a taste of that same fate and being so close to getting raped, weren’t strangely the things that frightened you the most. The fact that you now knew about the existence of the supernatural made you feel even more unsafe in this god-forsaken world. It seemed so bizarre but also not shocking at all. You were never a sceptic but also not a true believer before this. You never knew that when you would finally came across a supernatural entity it would be like that. So bloodcurdling, so brutal…you didn’t even have time till now to trully process this new information about the world. They really couldn’t be human, their strength, speed, so perfect looking and menacing aura…The power that man had over you…you have never felt something like that. It was almost like you wouldn’t even think twice about putting your life into his hands and letting him do with it whatever his cold heart desired.
A vampire. He was the creature of the night that fed from the lives of others. They could easily make everyone fall to their feet, just by a glimpse of their striking beauty alone. But did you yourself? Yes, in a sense that you became putty in his beautiful hands but you still did not do what he ask you to do. The handsome stranger said to forget but you were now doing opposite of that. You remembered everything to the very detail.
It quickly made fear creep up on you. What if you see him again? What if he figures it out that you know? What would he do to you? Would he try to compel you again? Or maybe just simply kill you? Sucking the life out of you as you would then meet your maker?
‘No, I will not.’ You will find a way to protect yourself if needed, find a way how to get out of this mess.
As you sipped at the hot cup of coffee, letting yourself drown further into your blanket and the softness of your couch, your thoughts went to your friend. You can’t just tell her what happened, Mia wouldn’t believe you…but maybe she would. You had never lied to each other and also told each other everything...but can you tell her this?
Your phone ranged suddenly, the loud noise making you jump in your seat. The noise made your headache heighten, grimacing at the pain in and quickly grabbing your phone to spare yourself from the unnecessary noise.
Looking at the caller ID, you let out a small sigh before picking it up. “Hi, Mrs. Johnson.” You said, your voice slightly rough, making you cough into your arm right after. You then put your phone on speaker, placing it on to the table.
“Oh-Hi! Y/N are you okay? You sound like you’ve got a cold, honey.” Said the woman, her sweet tone filling up your otherwise quiet apartment.
You shakes your head, pain shooting right after and also realizing your company couldn’t see you as you were met with silence. “No, no….just had a rough night that’s all.” Sipping at your coffee, you hear a small chuckle from the other side.
“So, I suppose the date went good?”
Almost choking at your hot drink, you replied in hurry. “No!” You cough out, it made your throat hurt like hell. “That’s not it…em–may I ask why are you calling?” You chuckle quietly with Mrs. Johnson who find your reaction overly amusing.
“Well, I’m running late and I need someone to get groceries but it’s okay if you’re not feeling well…”
“No! That’s okay, it’s just a sore throat from the weather, I can get them.”
Immediately a revealed sigh came from the other side. “Thank you so much, Y/N! You’re a lifesaver.” You blushed slightly from the praise. “I will give you the money when I get home, I really gotta go. I will be home at four, so no need to hurry just yet.”
“Alright Mrs. Johnson, goodbye till then.”
“Bye and thank you again!”
Before you could tell her it was nothing she hung up, making you whine, throwing your head carefully back against the couch. You actually kind of wanted to be the one to thank her because you finally had some distraction but you also wanted to spend the whole day only by yourself, lay down and do nothing but you were basically incapable to say no to someone in need. Realization then hits you.
You have to cover up the bruises and the awful red marks on your neck before even considering to go out. Thankfully it was quite cold today, so you could probably just go for turtleneck or something. Maybe by masking the marks from last night will help you forget…
────
As you pushed the trolley down the aisle, you pulled at her turtleneck, grimace falling over your features. The fabric was itchy on your skin and rather uncomfortable on your still open wounds. Having no other choice, you sucks it up, looking down at your shopping list. Mrs. Johnson sure loved her healthy food but at least she wasn’t that type of person to let the whole house go on a diet just because she was. Still it surprised you. That woman was five months pregnant and kept her cravings at minimum. You and even her children didn’t like how she just wouldn’t let herself slip. Her husband was also against her strict diet, making jokes out of it that he was actually the one with the pregnancy cravings. Thankfully she also wasn’t like those pregnant ladies that almost starve their unborn child, so they could keep their slim physique. She did it because she wanted her child to be as healthy as possible and only a nine month diet was more than worth it for her. You admired her for that.
It will be almost two years since you started to work for them. It was more than just babysitting, not just for you but also them. You could’ve not dream about a better job than this, it almost felt like you were part of their family.
Waking up from your train of thoughts, you make a surprise noise as someone grabbed at your sides, squeezing the softness of your hips. The sudden touch made you jump, your heart pounding in your chest. “What the hell!” You whisper shouts, turning back to look over your shoulder, only coming face to face with your friend who was laughing loudly at your reaction. “Mia!~” You hissed her name, blush of embarrassment adoring your cheeks.
The named girl, trying to cover up her amusement, waves teasingly at you. “Girl, you should’ve seen your face.” Says Mia, quickly imitating your face, making scowl.
“You know that’s not funny, I could’ve punched you.”
“Yeah sure, I would like to see that.”
“I swear to God, you gonna catch these hands some day.”
The blonde smiled at your words, completely ignoring your warning tone and at that you finally registered the man standing next to your friend who watched you two quietly the whole time.
“Hi.” He says, smiling at you awkwardly.
“Hi?” You greet back, looking at your friend who in answer skips to him, throwing her arms around his neck.
“Baby, get me powdered donuts while me and my friend catch up?” Says Mia battling her pretty eyelashes, the petname making you raise an eyebrow.
Grinning, he nods his head, completely under her spell. “Sure, meet me at my car after?”
Your friend humms, giving the man a kiss on the cheek. You and Mia then watched how he walked his way to the sweets section before giving each other knowing looks.
“You can’t be for real…”
Laughing Mia firstly hugs you, before going to explain herself. Your friend’s hands pressed little bit too harshly onto your side, right underneath your bruise, making you puffed out a breathe, thankfully your friend didn’t seem to catch the sudden noise. “I don’t know, he’s cute…when the lights are out.” You laughed together at her words, your laughter however sounding a little bit hoarse compare to Mia’s. Coughing into your elbow, you gripped at the handle of your trolley a little tighter. The blonde before you quickly picked up on that. “Hey, you okay?”
Hearing the concern in your friend’s voice, you wave it off. “It’s nothing.”
“Okay…” Trails off Mia skeptical while going to walk next to you as you picked up your pace without even saying anything. “But girl you sure? I’ve never seen some much greens and you together before.” Amused, your friend gestured to your shopping cart.
Raising your eyebrow, you take a glance at her. “So you’re saying I’m fat?”
“Well you sure got that ass girl~” Laughs Mia, hearing the teasing tone in the your voice. “But if you want to loose it up, it’s up to you.” Shrugging, both of you then go to the freezers.
“It’s for Mrs. Johnson.” You clarified, goosebumps appearing on your skin from the sudden cold.
Humming, your company also nods at your answer. “Well that makes more sense, you need help?” That question makes you look at her in confusion.
“Sure, I don’t mind but I don’t want your date to keep waiting.”
Waving you off Mia than goes to side hug you, thankfully missing any of your bruises, finally coming to enjoy your friend’s embrace. “Don’t worry about him, I’m with my girl right now.” Laughing softly with her, you go to open up one of the freezers to pick up what was needed.
God, now being with her it makes it even harder for you to not say anything. What even her reaction would be? Just concern? Also fear? Or would she just not believe you? You both joked around each other a lot but you immediately knew when the other was just lying and making fun. But you thought about the consequences again. You would also put her into danger…or not? There is a possibility that you will never see them again, never see him again…
For a moment you left those thoughts behind, not even registering you were already at the cashier, paying for the groceries. Your friend looked at you in concern but she knew if she would push you to say what’s really bordering you, it would only made you more lock into yourself.
As you went outside while carrying the bag full of groceries, someone spoke up from behind you, making you both stop in your tracks. “Hey! Where are you going?” It was the man Mia was with and to be honest you both almost forgot about him.
Laughing to herself the blonde went to him where he was standing next to his car. “Oh yeah…” Quickly taking the powdered donuts from his hand she then goes to lightly pat him on the cheek. “Thanks.” At that she goes back to you, leaving him downfounded while you only laughed in his direction.
────
You huffed, pulling the heavy shopping bag as high as your arms would let you, feeling the handle slightly piercing your skin. Your grimace then quickly turned into a grin as you sees a small girl, peaking from behind a corner. The girl gasps excitedly at your appearance, jumping. “Y/N is here, Y/N is here, Y/N is here, Tobias!” Sam, the 6 year old dark haired girl, jumping and screaming to her. Her older brother after few seconds came out from the other room, rolling his eyes and cringing at his sister’s shouting.
“Yeah, yeah, stop yelling” He grumbles, making his way to you just as you had to put down the shopping bag when the small girl jump into your arms without any warning. Sam wrapped her arms around your neck, making you smile into the girl’s hair that seemed a bit longer since you last remembered. How are they growing up so fast?
A scoff was heard from behind them. You three turn to look into the direction, only coming across Mia with her hand on her hip, giving you a quite unimpressed look. “And what about me?” The blonde kissed her teeth, gesturing to herself before pulling her hand from behind her back, showing the bag of powdered donuts. The girl shrieked again, jumping at her, making the older woman laugh at her excitement.
Tobias goes to you grabbing onto your heavy shopping back without saying anything. “You sure you got it?” You asked teasingly, seeing the boy stumble a bit under the weight, gripping it also with his other hand. He rolls his eyes, grumbling an agreement as you only watched in amusement when he wobbles his way to the kitchen.
Walking into the kitchen, you tsked, seeing your friend giving the little girl a donut. “No, no don’t…give them both some after they help.” The kids groan, displeased from their babysitter’s words.
Shaking your head at their behavior, you waited for the boy to put down the bag, almost collapsing with it before finally going to take out the contents. The kids also went to help, each one of them making it quite easier for them to put it inside the fridge. They sure were helpful when you promise them a reward afterwards.
It was quiet for a few moments as you cleaned up the kitchen but just as you were putting some snacks into the cabinet with two pairs of hungry eyes, trying to sneak a look, the sound of keys jiggling was heard from the front door. For a moment you all listened to the shuffling, waiting quietly for their new company to join them.
Older, dark haired woman at that walked into the room with a smile so bright as her open arms. “Hi, my babies! Hi, girls!” Said Mrs. Johnson, her arms wrapping around her daughter who happily ran to her. You and Mia greeted her simultaneously while Tobias went to steal a small hug from his mom. Even being in the raging stage of puberty he still couldn’t resist those warm, love filled embraces.
Releasing her children from her grasp, the woman put down her purse with a big sigh, before her eyes light up seeing the blonde. Gasping lightly, she walks up to her, pulling her into a hug. “Mia! Haven’t seen in a while, you sure do look lovely.” The named girl grinned at her words, waving her off as it was nothing, before Mrs. Johnson goes to look at you, immediately concern overtaking her face. “And you Y/N…are you better?”
“Yes, I’m already fine, it was probably just the morning sore throat.” You laughed sheepishly as your friend send you a small glare. The older woman nodded, not that sold from your quick answer before going to get the tea ready.
You watched as Mia gave the kids finally their promised treat, the blonde turning to look at you, still looking in the direction of Tobias and Sam who now chased after her brother who ran away with the donuts.
The blonde then clicks her tongue finally getting your attention. “Then if you’re fine..do you wanna go out tomorrow?” The question sounded little bit uncertain even from her.
“To w-where?”
Mia shrugged, going around the kitchen island to stand next to you. “Just clubbing.”
You sigh, not very sure if it’s a good idea. “I don’t know it’s been a while, also-“
“Hey, it’s fine we have the whole day tomorrow so you have a lot of time to decide.” She stopped your rambling, leaning on to you. “Just a thought.”
Suddenly a cup of hot tea was placed in your hands from Mrs. Johnson, the apple and cinnamon immediately hitting your nose. It was your favorite and the woman always had some for you safed in the house. Smiling in her direction, you thanked her quietly.
As you took a small sip of your favorite tea, the older woman gives you a look. “How was the date by the way?” Mia hummed loudly into her mug in excitement, also wanting to know.
And by that the events of the night before flashed in your head and as soon as you started reminiscing, you swallowed thickly. “I got stood up actually.” You said, trying to distract yourself from your thoughts by tracing the ornaments on the cup. You actually didn’t mean to sound sad about that as you only got loud gasps back in return.
“What?!?” The blonde almost spilled her drink from how quick she snapped her head to look at you. “Who in the right mind wouldn’t want to go out with you?”
The same question also crossed your mind too many times than you would like to admit, but your wondering would always end at the same place where you started. She was unloveable. You knew, you were loved by your closest but when it came to being loved in a romantic way? You always heard how love at very young age was only damaging. The heartbreak will linger longer than all of the love you’ve ever felt for that person. But you want that…you wanted that. Having your first love while still growing up and learning, not sure what to do with it, only knowing that it was right, the feeling was right. But as you grew older, you wondered if something was wrong with you. Everyone was expressing this feeling called love to one another and you could only watch from afar and wonder. ‘When will be my turn?’ You asked herself. You were getting so tired and frustrated, maybe you should just let it go…
Slowly realizing that you were letting yourself drown in your thoughts, your eyes look up to your company who watched you silently, waiting. Those saddened looks made you want to sink deeper. God, you must look so desperate right know.
Taking another short sip from your tea, you shrugged, glancing at the two with the most unbothered look you could do. “I don’t know, you tell me…”
After a beat of silence Mrs. Johnson spoke up, filling up the silent kitchen while Mia started to regret her choice of words, but still knowing she meant every word. “You should go out.” She says, making it sound a bit commanding. “Make it up for yesterday and see that there is more to life.”
“Says the pregnant lady.” Teases Mia, laughing as the so called pregnant lady gave her a unimpressed look while you started to think about the risks you would’ve to take to go out at night again, now knowing there was a new, bigger danger to be afraid of. But you also only lived once and maybe because of yesterday, you deserve a good night out with your friend.
Maybe you could even truly distract yourself enough to stop and not think of him in every passing moment…

Hate
Pairing: James Potter x Reader, James Potter x Regulus Black
Warnings: smut, some homophobia (sorry)
Word Count: 2.1K
A/N: Please request more from the marauders era please!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“He’s staring at you again,” you commented, barely looking up from your book as you adjusted your position so your head was sat more comfortably in your boyfriend’s lap. James stared down at you and sighed.
“He doesn’t stare at me. He’s probably staring at you.”
“I’ve seen his eyes follow you, James. It’s not me he stares at.” You were talking about Regulus Black, who was also laying in the grass on the other side of the courtyard and pretending to listen to whatever shit Barty Crouch was spewing.
You noticed that Regulus would stare at James any time he saw him from Regulus’s first year at Hogwarts. You initially assumed it was because James was Sirius’s best friend and young Regulus would have done nearly anything to seek his older brother’s approval. Even when it became clear that Sirius was not going to give any such approval, Regulus continued to stare. You certainly couldn’t blame Reg, James was gorgeous. His sharp jawline, his easy laugh, his arms strong from Quidditch, his skin beautifully tanned from all the time he spent outside. And most of all his infectious kindness. Those were all the reasons you had fallen for him. But James couldn’t see it. Or wouldn’t.
James was ready to rebut your statement when Remus and Sirius flopped down next to you on the grass.
“What’ve you two been up to?” Peter asked, taking stock of the boys’ pink cheeks. You had almost forgot that Peter was there. He more often than not third wheeled you and James, saying it was far preferable to third wheeling Remus and Sirius. You suspected it was more so because James was far too polite to tell Peter to fuck off.
“Took a walk,” Remus said at the same time as Sirius said,
“Had a quickie by the lake.”
You burst out laughing as Remus turned a deep shade of red and punched Sirius’s shoulder.
“What the fuck happened to discretion?” Remus snapped.
“It’s alright, Remus. James and I had a quickie by the lake earlier today too,” you grinned. It was James’s turn to blush and he stammered,
“You and Sirius are animals.”
You and Sirius laughed and high-fived. Your jovial attitude was apparently ill received as the younger Black stood from his patch of grass and stalked over to you all. Sirius immediately shot to his feet, as did Remus to hold him back.
“What the fuck do you want, Regulus?” Sirius asked coldly, his head held high in order to look down on his younger brother. The sun seemed to glint off of Regulus’s sharp cheekbones as he sneered,
“I’ve heard a rumor about you, Sirius.”
“I’ve heard one about you.” Sirius said, his eyes flashing dangerously. You and James were on your feet now too, anticipating the incoming storm that could only occur between Regulus and Sirius Black
“I’ve heard things about you and Lupin.” Regulus said, narrowing his eyes as he looked Remus up and down.
“What kind of things?” Remus asked, his hand still firm against Sirius’s chest.
“I’ve heard you two are in a relationship.” Regulus hissed.
“We are.” Sirius said simply, grabbing Remus’s face and kissing him deeply. Regulus looked gobsmacked.
“You-you’re going to hell!” Regulus stammered.
“I heard you’re a death eater,” Sirius said, grabbing Regulus’s arm quickly and tearing his sleeve up to reveal the dark mark, “so I guess I’ll see you there.”
Sirius then turned cooly on his heel and stalked back towards the castle, hand firmly in Remus’s. You all followed, you turned back only once to see that Regulus was glowering at you and James.
“He’s staring at you again.” You nudged James. You were at dinner this time, two days later and James was still upset about the situation with Sirius and Regulus.
“I just don’t get how he could say that to you!” James was saying to Sirius. “It’s just…it’s so intolerant! So homophobic! It’s terrible!”
“He’s Regulus. I don’t know why you’re surprised. Honestly went better than I thought. Thought he was gonna hex me or something,” Sirius said with a shrug.
“Yeah Prongs, newsflash. People are homophobic.” Remus clearly wasn’t torn up about it either.
“James! He’s staring at you again.” You repeated, tugging on James’s sleeve. James turned to look at Regulus. Sure enough he was staring and once James looked over, Regulus blushed and dropped his head.
“Just forget about him.” Sirius suggested, “We have.”
James couldn’t let it go. You and him were on a late night walk, trying to find some place in the castle you could hook up in. Sirius and Remus had claimed the dorm room and exiled Peter to the common room. Marlene had Yaz in the girl’s room and Lily would have had your head if you had even tried to bring James there. He was still stewing as you walked.
“Regulus is just so awful to Sirius. And he knows better. He should know better. I just hate him so much and I’d honest to god kill him if I knew that Sirius wouldn’t be a little cross with me about it.” James was ranting. You had finally found a classroom that wasn’t locked and you pulled James into it.
“James, baby, please. Stop talking about Regulus. God, I almost feel like you want him more than you want me.” You said with an eye roll.
“What?”
“You haven’t stopped talking about for two entire days. You honestly sound like you want to hate fuck him.”
“What the hell is wrong with you?” James looked appalled.
“Just saying. Hate and love are really close emotions. It makes sense that you would be a little confused about it.”
“Confused? What the fuck could you mean?”
“James. Haven’t you noticed that the entire time you ranted about Regulus you’ve gotten harder and harder?” You looked down at James’s pants which were practically tented with how strong James’s erection was. James was surprised at this and shook his head.
“Channel this energy,” you said, holding his face in your hands, “and fuck me really really hard.” You smashed your lips against his. He resisted at first before giving and and kissing you back. It was toothy and intense and you think James might have bit you a few times but it was delicious and it was different. Your clothes were coming off and were being thrown in every direction. James had you backed onto a desk as he was fumbling with his belt buckle, his lips still on yours when you heard the door to the classroom creak open.
“Fuck,” you cursed, crossing your arms over your chest and turned to see who had spoiled your fun. When you saw it, you couldn’t help but giggle.
It was Regulus Black.
“What the fuck do you want?” James barked, pulling his belt out of the loops and unzipping his pants. You were a little confused as to why he wasn’t stopping but you weren’t any less turned on.
“I’m,” Regulus had to clear his throat, “I’m doing prefect rounds. I ought to give you a detention. What are you even doing?” Regulus was walking slowly towards James.
“Hi Reg,” you said, leaning up on your elbows so Regulus could see you. Regulus froze in place when he saw you and scowled.
“Oh, a hundred points from Gryffindor.” He hissed.
“You have no authority to do that and you know it.” James growled.
“Come on Reg, we’re just having a little fun.” You said with a light shrug.
“Shut the fuck you stupid halfblood.” Regulus snapped.
“That’s it. Perfectus totalus.” James pointed his wand at Regulus. Regulus went rigid and dropped to the ground. James maneuvered Regulus with his wand so Regulus was sitting in a chair facing the desk you were laid on.
“I’m tired,” James said, raking a hand through his messy hair, “of your bullshit. I know you’re in love with me, Reg. Everyone has noticed you staring at me. But you’re a piece of shit and awful to my best friend and my girlfriend so now you’re going to watch me fuck her brains out.”
You got even wetter at that. James turned back to you and attacked your neck, leaving large teeth impressions around your neck and clavicle. He pushed two fingers into you, causing you to throw your head back and moan. You kept your eyes open and on Regulus. He was staring at you with a mix of hate and lust, his pupils blown and his fists balled. The hex seemed to be wearing off but he made no indication that he was going to move from his seat. James added another finger inside you and curved them so they brushed against your g-spot. You moaned again, grasping James’s wrist and fucking yourself on his fingers. James was moaning with you, obviously extra turned on by the situation. He pressed his thumb against your clit and began moving it in quick small circles and you came, moaning James’s name and carding your fingers in his hair. He kissed you again before taking his cock out and helping you off the desk. He turned so he was facing Regulus and pushed your head down towards his cock. You took the hint and started to suck him off, relaxing your jaw and gently massaging his balls with your free hand. You looked up at him but James’s eyes were fixated on Regulus. James had his hand on the back of your head and he pushed your head suddenly against him. Your gag reflect instantly activated and you were gagging and spitting around him but you noticed that James barely seemed to care and then you heard Regulus moan. James released you and you fell backwards, breathing heavily and looked between the two boys. You were right. They did need to hate fuck but you had a feeling that wouldn’t happen tonight. Tonight, James wanted to punish Regulus. Make him a voyeur.
James grabbed your arm roughly and pushed you back onto the desk. He kissed you deeply and you could tell he felt a little bad about how rough he was being but one quick finger to your pussy and he would have seen that all it did was make you wetter. James pushed inside you. You moaned loudly, locking eyes with Regulus. Regulus’s erection was straining against his pants and his nails were digging into his palms. There were beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
“He’s so big, Regulus,” you whispered as James fucked you. You were getting close and so was James. His thrusts were getting sloppier and his breath was heavy on your neck.
“He feels so good, Reg,” you said again.
“Shut up,” Regulus said through clenched teeth. That got James’s attention as his head snapped up and looked back at Regulus. You came around James’ cock, moaning loudly and raking your nails down James’s back. James pulled out of you before he came and stared hard at Regulus.
“Come here,” he said, practically vibrating with rage, “and suck my girlfriend’s juices off my cock.”
You could only stare at Regulus as he stood on shaky legs and walked over to James. He fell to his knees and stared up at James with wide eyes before taking James in his mouth. James’s eyes shut and he carded his fingers in Regulus’s hair before pushing Regulus’s head down on his cock roughly. Regulus’s eyes shot open in surprise and he gagged, his fingers pressing bruises into James’s thighs.
“Don’t stop, I’m going to cum.” James commanded. Regulus’s eyes were tearing up but he was nodding and opening his mouth even wider for James. James came and Regulus was caught by surprise swallowing some of it but backing away too quickly so his face and hair were coated the remainder of James’s cum.
Everyone took a moment just to steady their breathing before James looked down at Regulus and said in the coldest voice you had ever heard from him,
“Don’t you ever call my girlfriend a dirty half blood or tell my best friend he’s going to hell again. Now get out of my sight.”

Sonic wasn’t a stranger to off days. In fact, he had them a lot more often than most people realized, he was just really good at hiding them.
Maybe a little too good.
This day, however, was particularly bad.
He wasn’t sure why. He pretty much just woke up in a grassy field feeling like, well, shit and it felt a little more challenging to simply push down like he usually did. Even after a quick call with Tails — something that usually cheered him up almost immediately — he still felt like he wanted to disappear off the face of Mobius, never to fight in another battle or have the pressure of saving the world ever again.
He’d never admit it because he genuinely loves doing what he does, but it gets to him sometimes. He’s only fifteen years old, when did it become his responsibility for all this crap.
Sometimes he did wish he had a more simple life. Just him, his little brother, and his close friends living out their teenage (and little kid) years like normal Mobians.
However, the adrenaline junkie in him quickly kicks that idea in the ass. He didn’t think he could ever live without all the death defying stunts and risks that came with his current lifestyle. It just wouldn’t be as fun. Plus, doing what he does is the reason he has most of his friends in the first place.
He wouldn’t trade this current life for anything in the world, but it can still drag him down sometimes.
He closed his eyes and felt a gentle breeze surround him and dance among the blades of grass. The leaves of nearby trees rustling and flickies chirping were like distant symphonies as the sun’s warmth engulfed him.
He stayed like that for around thirty minutes, just basking in all that nature had to offer him this morning. Quiet moments like these were part of what kept him fighting. As long as Eggman was dead set on destroying areas like these, Sonic would be there to stop him.
After what felt like an eternity to the hedgehog, he got up and stretched. He looked around him, picked a random location, and took off running, hoping to leave his thoughts behind.
He ran for hours, occasionally stopping to check out a view or quickly help someone. But it didn’t matter how fast or how far he went, the thoughts always caught up to him.
Past failures, little comments made by the media that affected him a little more than they probably should, guilt he had stored up from past life choices, etc.
But nothing haunted him more than those dreaded six months.
Months of isolation. Not knowing if his friends were ok, if his baby brother was ok, The torture, the anxiety, the shackles. The illusions of his loved ones dying before his eyes over and over again and being mocked or yelled at by them.
The depression and nightmares that followed were almost too much for him to bear and he probably would’ve lost it if his overwhelming sense of guilt didn’t push him to stick around and help.
His friends weren’t mad at him for not helping them for most of the war. In fact, it almost felt like they were babying him in a way. Constantly asking he was okay and making sure he was comfortable whenever they had downtime. Even Tails was seemingly walking on eggshells around him which definitely made him feel some kind of way.
When the war finally ended, he disappeared for about two months. It was all too overwhelming.
He knew it was a selfish move, but Chaos forbid he makes one decision that solely benefits himself after that whole mess. He just needed to be alone and run off those six months.
No one was mad at him when he finally reappeared, the closest thing would be how worried Tails was.
He always did worry too much.
Everything slowly went back to normal. The war slowly became a thing of the past, just another victory over Dr Eggman.
So why was Sonic still so hung up over it?
A noise from his stomach stopped his thoughts dead in their tracks. He slowed to a stop somewhere on the shoreline and checked his communicator for the time. How was it already lunch time? Did he really spend that much time thinking about all that crap?
He sped off in the direction of the Mystic Ruins. Being around his brother always managed to make him feel at least a little better. Maybe it would be more effective than just simply calling him.
He stopped at the front door of the house and punched in the code.
It was quiet. There were no noises coming from the workshop downstairs. Was the kit even home? It would suck if he wasn’t, what would be the point of Sonic showing up if his little brother wasn’t even here. Where did he go?
A certain smell overrode all his thoughts as he walked into the kitchen. Sitting on the counter was a plate of chili dogs that were still warm (he could just tell).
He smiled. Tails was definitely home.
Right on cue, he heard the workshop door open and a certain two-tailed fox walked into the kitchen. The weight on Sonic’s chest became lighter as the two talked about whatever came to mind with Tails even suggesting a movie night later on.
Fondness grasped at his heart, giving it a tight squeeze. Somehow, Tails once again knew he was having a bad day just from a brief interaction hours earlier. He never once asked what was wrong or made the hedgehog to talk about his feelings, he just did little things like make him food and offer to spend time together doing pointless things and goofing around. He even said he was just working on blueprints today which Sonic knew was just in case he didn’t feel like talking or just wanted to be alone.
Sonic didn’t know what he’d do without this kid. He really did have the best little brother a hedgehog could ask for.

Goodbye Sundrop
First drabble for my Sun Before Solar AU!! :D
Word count: 1,895
Read time: ~7-10 minutes (depends on your reading speed)
Content warnings: Agonized yelling, crying, robotic blood, choking, abuse, death,
Writer’s note: This drabble is a little explanation for my Sun Before Solar au and shows exactly how Sun went and Solar stayed. If you are severely upset over any of the content of warnings, please don’t read this (there isn’t a whole lot of some stuff above). Also, if I’ve made any grammar mistakes, please tell me!! I’m running off a shot of espresso and an hour of sleep whilst writing this sooooo-
Moon bursted into his home shortly followed by Solar, who quickly trailed behind him, saying as little as possible. Moon was heard grumbling angry sentence fragments about Ruin and how much he hated him. It was a little wild considering for months, nobody but Eclipse had suspected Ruin to be the mastermind behind all the hype and excitement.
As the two animatronics rushed through the house to the room where Sun and Ruin were, Moon’s speed became more rapid, only to thrust open the door and find Sun standing in the corner as far away from Ruin as he could get.
“Moon!” He gasped, relaxing a bit as Ruin shifted in the bed he sat on.
“Sun, are you okay? Solar and I came as soon as-”
“Ah, yes, Solar.” Ruin interrupted, crossing his legs slowly as if to intimidate them. Moon looked back at the eclipse-themed bot and shrugged, his monotone expression shaking lightly, unbeknownst to what Ruin had planned. “You know, you should be gone right about now.” Ruin gave a sly smirk, closing his eyes like he was worry free, though he was far from that.
“What?” Solar rung in, taking a heavy step further into the room.
“You should really be thanking me that you’re still here.” The mixed animatronic swiftly raised from the bed to properly face the three family members, grinning widely at them all.
Solar scoffed, “What on earth would I want to thank you for? You’ve caused nothing but trouble!” In the corner, Sun clung helplessly to Moon’s arm, utterly afraid of what Ruin might try to do.
“Why, because you’re alive! Why else?”
“Why do you keep saying that?!” Moon yelled furiously, clenching his fists aggressively.
Ruin giggled like a child, walking over to the window that stretched from ceiling to floor, “Because, dear Moon, if it weren’t for a little messing aroundI had done, you dear friend Solar, here, would be gone! Dead! In the afterlife!”
Moon looked surprised over to Solar, who’s expression was just as shocked as his and Sun’s. When nobody reacted verbally to whatever Ruin was getting at, he decided to elaborate and make things clearer, just for his entertainment.
“You see, the way this universe works is… different. Now, a little while ago, with the way everything is set up, Solar would have died. But then I realized something that could be beneficial to me!” Ruin rambled, the mention of him killing off his family made Moon’s blood boil. If he had blood, that was.
“I decided, why let Solar die, when there’s Sun?”
Moon’s head flashed immediately to his brother, who had gone almost white at Ruin’s words. Sun shook uncontrollably, tearing up with black oil-like teardrops in the corner of his eyes. “M-Moon…”
Ruin snapped at Sun, “I’m not finished talking!” He barked, standing up straight, “So I did a little messing around and worked with your codes, and, well, let’s just say what I’ve done will take effect…”
Sun suddenly clenched his stomach area in pain and choked back a yell of agony.
“Right about now.” Ruin smirked as he watched Sun begin to have his life sucked right away from him.
“Sun!” Moon cried, taking him by the shoulders and looking him firmly in the eyes, “S-sun, just get a grip, okay? Hold on, y-you’ll be okay…!” Moon panicked, looking to Solar for help, but he was just staring, dumbfounded about everything happening that seemed to go by in a flash.
Tears dropped from Sun’s distressed faceplate as he began to feel… funny. He took a moment to take his hand away from his stomach and watched it in horror as it began to turn to nothing like dust being blown off a desk. Moon said nothing at first, his words taken right from him as he watched his brother’s life come to an end.
“Moonie…”
“Sun, no no no no, you can’t die! You can’t, y-you can’t!” Moon quivered, taking Sun’s hands and squeezing them as he began to cry too. A few of Sun’s rays began to fade away as well, and all anyone could really to was sob.
“Moon, I-I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to see you again, but…” Sun shook, speaking through rivers of oily tears, “I love you, Moon, and- and- I’m going to miss you…!” Sun took his brother into an agony-filled embrace and Moon began to yelp with sadness.
“N-no, this isn’t the end of you! You’re not going to die!” He yelled, squeezing Sun, not believing his own words as they left his silicone lips.
“Moonie… I’m going to die…” Sun whispered, nuzzling his face into Moon’s shoulder. The lunar animatronic began to wail like there was no tomorrow, and Sun savored the last moments he could have with his brother.
It all went by too fast to process, but within the minute, Sun was gone. Moon had collapsed onto his knees, crying into what was left of his brother; his wrist ribbons were held firmly in Moon’s hand as he sobbed endlessly into them.
“SUN!!!” He screamed, hoping in any way, his brother, his beloved twin, would come back to him.
“A fragile thing, life.” Ruin cocked from the other side of the room, who was absentmindedly fiddling with his fingers.
Somehow, Moon had managed to forget Ruin was even there. He sprung up suddenly from his knees and stormed over to the mix-matched animatronic he had foolishly trusted and grabbed him by the neck, thrusting him against the wall violently.
“You’ve made a huge enemy today.” Moon growled, tightening his grip firmly on Ruin’s neck.
“I-I’m su-sure I have!”
Moon swung his fist and punched Ruin across the face countless times before beating him elsewhere all while he choked in his hands. Solar hurried to Moon’s side and stopped him before he could officially murder the cruel animatronic.
“Moon, be rational, what will killing him accomplish?” Solar yelled, only partially pulling him out of his violent rage.
“For one he’d be FAR away from where Sun is now!” Moon hissed in response, ripping his arm away from Solar and punching Ruin more and more, beating him until he could barely move.
“Moon!” Solar yelled again, holding him back by both arms and dragging him to the other side of the room. The lunar animatronic squirmed in Solar’s arms as he fought to get back to avenging his twin.
Ruin coughed, grinning despite his terrible condition, “You really are funny, Moon!” He cackled, rolling onto his side with an aching groan. Thick, blood-like oil leaked from multiple places on the destroyed animatronic’s body, even some trickling from the corner of his eyes and his mouth.
Moon shuffled to get out of Solar’s grasp more at the sound of Ruin’s aggravating voice. “I’M GOING TO KILL YOU, RUIN! YOU WILL BURN IN HELL NO MATTER WHAT!” Moon howled with anger and agony, becoming weak from using all his energy to escape.
Finally, Ruin’s eyes turned black, and he fell limp, either dead or out of battery. Solar released Moon, and he fell to the floor again, crying for his brother. Solar bent down and hesitated to hug Moon, but it was probably what he needed at a moment like it was. Moon cried and cried until he couldn’t anymore, and at that point it was well after dark, and morning was nearing. Both Solar and Moon had ignored a number of calls from Earth and Lunar.
When he had finished, Moon had stood wearily and staggered out of Sun’s bedroom, knowing he’d never be able to walk back into that room ever again without a huge wave of dread washing over him. Solar walked out as well as he watched Moon flop onto the couch and lay miserably.
“Moon, what should I do with R-”
“Leave him. I’ll deal with it later.” Moon muttered, his voice cracked and broken from crying.
Solar frowned as he walked out of Sun’s former room, closing the door behind him. Sun’s cats ran below his feet, making him watch where he stepped as he wandered into the living area. “I- uh- I can leave if you’d prefer it.” Solar suggested, dithering to sit.
“I don’t care what you do right now.” Moon hissed, clearly in the worst mood he could be in.
Solar’s insides ached as he was given the nostalgic feeling of when his Moon from his dimension would hiss and scold him like that. It made him feel like a burden, so he left. Lord knows what Moon did with the rest of his night, but Solar knew someone was going to have to tell Earth and Lunar the sad news.
When he arrived at the daycare, Earth and Lunar rushed to him as if he was on fire. “Solar! We were so worried! Where’ve you been?! Where’s Sun and Moon?!” Earth asked, hugging the eclipse-themed animatronic.
Solar could barely speak, and it wasn’t like he wanted to anyway. He wasn’t the right person to tell them the truth, but Moon certainly wouldn’t be fit to do it either. He stumbled over his words, trying to find what to say, but it was so hard to say anything after what he’d just experienced.
“S-sun he’s… he’s- not here…” Solar managed to say, watching as Earth and Lunar exchanged confused glances.
“Where is he?” Lunar asked.
Solar figuratively swallowed a lump in his throat and felt the guilt rise. There was so much he could have done to prevent that, right? “He’s… he’s dead…”
Earth’s shoulders fell and Lunar shook, “He’s what-?” Earth sniffled, grabbing her shoulders for support.
“He’s dead. He w-was killed by Ruin…”
Lunar fell to the floor, tears rapidly falling as well, and all his sister did was stand and shake. Stand, shake, and cry. “He’s not! He can’t be- n-no, not Sun! Never!” Earth denied it all, throwing herself against the desk and sobbing into her arms.
“Not Sun! No! Please, this is a joke, it has to be!”
Solar walked up beside Earth and wrapped his arms around her, but unfortunately comfort wasn’t his strong suit. “Earth, I know it’s sad, but-”
“He’s dead…” Lunar squeaked from the floor behind the two. Solar cocked his head to face him, dark shadows ominously covering his face. “He- he can’t be dead…” Lunar’s hands began to shiver as lightning started to appear.
“Lunar, calm down…” Solar whispered, slowly walking up to the small animatronic. Lunar flung himself to his feet and started to pace back and forth, the lightning getting dangerously wild. Earth looked up too, spotting the fit Lunar seemed to be having.
The only thing that you could hear in the entire daycare was the crackle of Lunar’s lightning, and him muttering, “he’s dead” over and over again until he forced his hands to his temple and began to cry violently.
Earth and Solar hurried to him and took him into their arms, hugging him closely as all three began to wail together.
“Sun… my brother… m-my last original brother… he’s gone…” Lunar whispered, so many tears slipping down his cheeks.
“It’s okay, Lunar…” Earth whispered, choking back ugly sobs and hiccups. Lunar shook his head, “No… it’s not.” He gasped through huge sobs.
“We didn’t even get to say goodbye…”

In the middle of winter, the winds of the Night court felt more like knives than they did a soft caress. Perhaps straining your left wing almost immediately after ascending over the large expanse of trees had had a role to play in your torture, but you couldn’t think of anything other than the pain as you struggled over the border towards Day, barely managing to glide over the divide between the two courts.
Unsteady flight patterns had you tumbling down through the treetops barely a few hundred feet past that point. The loud cracks of the snapping branches and the rustling of the pine trees engulfed you, so loud that you couldn’t hear your own exclamations of pain going down.
Curled around yourself on the forest’s icy floor, surrounded by the debris you’d taken down with you in your fall and the feathers you’d ripped out in the process, is where you finally yell apart. You laid there for hours, quietly sobbing as you tried to convince yourself to get up, get up, but you couldn’t, not until light began to sweep over your position.
Everything came crashing down on you in waves, the reality of the situation, and you couldn’t make heads or tails of it. Why couldn’t any of it make sense?
Azriel. He’d hated you at first, that you were sure of. He had no reason to trust you or help you, and you had only given him reasons to dislike you even more. You hadn’t been kind, but neither had he, not until... until after the study, when he had seen you burn the doorknob. Not until after Feyre saw through your memories.
Not until you became a tool, one they might be able to wield… if they gained your trust.
Gods, it hurt to think that all of what happened between you and Azriel might’ve just been an act, but the pieces all fit together like building blocks, one by one. It explained why he had suddenly found it in him to care for you, how he used your own weaknesses against you.
Fury and heartbreak tore through you, and that’s when you had started screaming in pure anguish through your sobs. You hadn’t admitted it, not out loud, but he must’ve known, known that you loved him. How easily you had fallen too, how little he had to show before you betrayed your instincts for him, your centuries of knowledge. As easily as a leaf falls in autumn at the slightest breeze, you thought bitterly.
But why would Azriel go after you, even when Rhysand held him back? Were they still hoping you would change your mind, that you would come running back? Your head kept spinning in circles until you didn’t have any more tears left to cry, until your throat felt as tight as a vice.
By that time, in the early morning sun, only numbness was left in you. There was no more fire left to burn, no more hatred towards those who used you, you’d spent it all. The only embers left had turned against you. Once more, you had been played for a fool.
You’d picked yourself up at the first sign of light despite your injuries, wings lacerated deeply and at least a few ribs broken, and dragged yourself into the first cave you found, uncaring of any danger that may be lurking in within. Maybe that would be a more comforting ending, you thought. Putting yourself at the mercy of nature, your only true friend, was a poetic way to go. No more betrayal, no more cruelty, only the Mother’s sweet embrace.
You shuffled to the farthest wall you could reach and curled down on the cold floor once more, your wings oozing blood at an unsteady rate. Unconsciousness settled over you comfortably, a blanket of death draping over you in a final moment of peace. You hoped it was over.

The Invisible Woman Chapter Two: Mark Me Down As Scared and Horny
Series Masterlist
Pairing: Jake 'Hangman' Seresin x female!reader
TW:allusions to violence, so much pining
Summary: Jake thinks he might have met his match and much to everyone's surprise, it doesn't seem to bother him.
Word Count:1.6k
Tumblr media
The next couple of days, you and Jake text back and forth, mostly joking around. He hasn't worked up the nerve to ask you out yet and he's been catching shit from Bradley and Phoenix non-stop. They're loving the idea of a woman so powerful and intimidating that even Jake Seresin, certified womanizer, is thrown off his game.
Quite frankly, they can't wait to meet you. Luck is on their side because as soon as they waltz into the Hard Deck, they see you standing at the bar. You pick up on their presence immediately and when Jake is a few feet from you, leading the pack, you smirk to yourself.
"Hey, flyboy. I take it these are your pilot friends?" You quip and Bradley's eyebrows shoot up.
He leans down to Phoenix and whispers. "How did she know we were here without looking?"
You turn to face them and quickly scan over the group before responding. "My whole job is to know where people are without looking." You respond and his face slightly blanches when he realizes you heard him.
He clears his throat and stumbles over his words. "Yes, ma'am." He finally says and Phoenix barks out a loud laugh.
She is enjoying every second of this. You've barely spoken and you have Jake and Bradley shaking in their boots.
She sticks her hand out and you take it, giving it a firm shake. "I'm Phoenix." She introduces herself and you smile.
"Ozzy." You answer and Jake's mouth drops open.
"Ozzy?" He asks confused and you glance over at him.
"My nickname. Started out as One Shot, then people started shortening it to OS which became Oz and finally Ozzy." You explain and he makes an “oh” with his mouth.
"Why are you called One Shot?" The taller pilot asks and you take a sip of beer before answering.
"Because I never miss."
Jake swears you're going to be the death of him. Somehow he's both terrified and turned on, and no woman has ever elicited that reaction from him.
"You're so fucking cool." He mutters and you chuckle.
"Are you going to introduce me?" You tease and he quickly recovers from staring at you.
"Oh, yeah. That's Rooster, my best friend Coyote, the quiet one is Bob and I’m Hangman. Or Jake." He tells you and you commit the names to memory. You have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot of them.
"Nice to meet all of you."
You immediately like Bob. He's like you. He doesn't talk much, instead sitting back and observing. He always seems aware of his surroundings and is most likely extremely intuitive. In another life, he would have made a good SEAL.
You watch them expectantly, almost laughing at the way they all seem to shift nervously under your gaze. Well, except Phoenix. She seems fascinated more than anything.
"You said it's your job to know where people are, but how'd you know who it was?" She asks, genuinely intrigued and you shoot her a small smile.
"I could smell Jake's cologne and I recognized the cadence of his footsteps." You reply honestly and everyone looks even more interested than before. A silence falls over the group and you stand up.
"I'm going to go the bathroom." You say before stopping to speak over your shoulder. "You don't have to look so scared, by the way. I don't bite unless you ask me to."
Jake shakes his head, completely under your spell. Your quick wit and genuine kindness despite being lethal is intoxicating and he can't get enough.
The group makes their way over to the pool tables and starts a game, getting lost in a heated competition. It's not until a few minutes later when Bradley lets out a short scream that everyone's heads snap to look in his direction.
You're standing directly next to him, trying desperately not to laugh in his face. "You scared the shit out of me! How long have you been there?" He asks exasperated and you finally let out a cackle.
"A few minutes." You tell him casually and his eyes widen.
"But no one saw you. Half of us were facing toward you!" He exclaims and you quirk an eyebrow.
"Again, you're describing my entire job."
Bradley huffs and moves to the other side of the table, now standing next to Jake. "She's scary as fuck." He mumbles and Jake nods, utterly entranced. "I know, I love it."
You take the pool cue from Jake and make the shot for him. Three balls go flying into separate pockets and you hand it back to him with a smug smile.
"Sorry, I couldn't stand watching you get your ass kicked by Sasquatch over there." You tease and Jake's heart hammers in his chest. You're a literal dream, and he has to pinch himself to believe that you're real.
You're a complete badass, you're stunning, you're funny and quick on your toes, and you can play pool. If he doesn't marry you he'll be kicking himself in the ass until the day they bury him.
You fit in with the squad easily, making fast friends with Bob and Phoenix. He watches as you laugh with the two of them and smiles to himself.
He can see this being his life, easily. You're strong and sure of yourself, but never cocky. He's never met someone so humble, and he thinks he could learn a thing or two from you.
He walks up to you when the game is over and smiles as he listens in.
"So wait, you have sixty-five? That's fucking insane." Phoenix states in disbelief, glancing up at Jake. "She makes you look like a pussy."
If it was any other circumstance the statement would get under his skin and piss him off. But he can't even argue with her, she's right. Instead, he just laughs along and nods. "Yeah, but I'm okay with that."
Your eyes twinkle as you look at him and his stomach does a flip. Your angelic voice rings out and he nearly falls to his knees when you come to his defense.
"Well," You begin. "That's not really fair. It's two completely different things, you can't really compare them. Two air-to-air kills are impressive in their own right."
Still, Phoenix persists. "Yeah, but you also went through SEAL school. That's insanely difficult, and you're the only woman."
"True," You shrug, shooting a wink at Jake. "But becoming a pilot isn't exactly easy. Besides, isn't he the only active-duty pilot with confirmed kills? Seems we both excel in our fields."
Phoenix's jaw goes slack and she turns to stare at Jake. "She's too good for you." She decides and again, he can't even argue.
"Oh, I'm sure of it." He smiles and you lean back in your seat.
"Speaking of, I was wondering if you want to go out sometime." You ask and Jake nearly chokes.
"Wait, you're asking me out?" He questions, completely taken aback. No woman has ever made the first move on him. Then again, no woman has ever kept his interest for this long so it's safe to say you're special.
Your nose scrunches up in response and Jake nearly collapses. It's the cutest thing he's ever seen and he wants to kiss it.
"Well, you don't seem to have the confidence so I figured I'd do it myself." You reply and Phoenix coughs to cover a giggle.
"Wh-you- I’m confident." He stutters defensively and the unimpressed look you give him makes him want you even more.
"If you don't ask her out, I will." Phoenix taunts and Jake sends her a glare before softening and looking back at you. You have an expectant look on your face and he can tell by the mischief in your eyes that you baited him on purpose.
"Fine. Can I take you on a date?" He asks and you press your finger to your chin, pretending to be deep in thought.
"No." You answer and Jake feels heat rush to his face.
"But you just-" he begins to stammer and he stops when he sees the playful smile on your face. "You're fucking with me." He realizes and your smile grows.
"I'm sorry. It's just so fun to see you flustered." You pretend to apologize and he squints his eyes. "I would love to go on a date with you, Jake."
You have so much power over him already, and he can't imagine what actually dating you would be like. He knows for sure that you'd keep him on his toes.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow at seven. Dress casual." He tells you, turning on his heel and walking to the dart boards before you can respond.
You watch him walk away and Phoenix nudges your shoulder. "How do you do that?" She asks and you frown.
"Do what?"
She rolls her eyes and nods her head toward Jake. "I've known Jake for years. I have never once seen him blush or be at a loss for words. No one has ever been able to get him to shut up, let alone get him to agree that someone else is better than him."
You watch the blonde man as he throws a dart blind and shrug. "I don't know. I'm just being myself." You tell her and she huffs.
"Well, stick around. You might be the one person that can make Hangman tolerable." She tells you and it makes you feel warm and fuzzy to know you have an effect on him.
"I'm planning on it."

Being at the BAU came with a lot of good things, just as it came with it’s fair share of bad. But, in your life right now, you were living on a trail of good things. You met Aaron Hotchner at the BAU. He was your unit chief, however over time, you slowly became his best friend, his girlfriend, his fiance, and now you were his wife of a year.
Being with Aaron meant a lot. It meant you weren’t always his partner in the field, he was very over protective of you. He made sure you always ate food during a case, just as he would let you cuddle into him in the hotel room at night so you’d get the best sleep.
It also meant that you were his outlet just as he was yours. If he was getting overwhelmed, he’d ask to talk to you in his office and he would be on the verge of tears by how stressed out he was, and you were there to just calm him down and hold him if he did ended up crying.
You had a built in best friend at work when you got married. It was amazing. How many people could say that the person they work with is the love of their life. Not to mention that you also got a bonus son out of it. Jack was amazing.
You knew Jack since the day he was born. You had been working with the BAU for a year before he was born. You helped plan out Haley’s babyshower. It’s funny how things would work out almost 10 years later. When Aaron and Haley got divorced, you let Aaron come stay in your apartment as you had extra space that you weren’t using. You didn’t think anything would ever happen, that’s why when you offered for him to move in with you, he agreed to it, knowing that you had a boyfriend, and that eventually both of you would hae to sell the place and move on with your lives.
Except, what happened over time is that the longer you and Aaron became roommates, the more and more chances you had to fall in love with him, and for him to fall in love with you. As you had multiple conversations on what your relationship with entail, he was finally ready to go public.
Jack was very good with you. You were his favorite BAU auntie. You and him had always been close, and you think that’s because you were Aaron’s best friend. When Aaron had a budget meeting and he was with Jack, you watched him. If Haley brought Jack into the BAU, she always stopped at your desk, asking you to watch him so she could talk to Aaron.
However, just when you were about to go public with your relationship, Foyet happened. You watched how it tore Aaron apart. He was way more stressed out, as he should have been. Just then, when you thought you’d be in the safe space of your apartment, Foyet got to Aaron. You were going to go home with him, but you promised a girls night with Penelope, Emily, and JJ, thus you all decided to stay in the confines of Penelope’s apartment.
When you saw the puddle of blood in your apartment, your heart immediately dropped into your stomach. You saw the bullet in the wall, you knew that it was Aaron’s height. You were scared, not knowing where he was, if he was alive.
After finding him in the hospital, you watched the worst thing happen to him. He had to watch his son and his ex-wife go into protective custody. He wasn’t going to be in touch with his son for God knows how long. The weeks that came after were terrible, he didn’t want to do anything. Well, he did, but he knew he couldn’t give up. He wanted his son back in his life, unharmed, he wanted the same for his ex-wife. She didn’t deserve this, neither did his son.
You spent a lot of nights crying with Aaron. He didn’t show emotion with the team around, but for you, the flood gates broke lose. He could be vulnerable in front of you. You were glad you were in his life. You were glad he had someone. You wanted Jack back safe and sound. You wanted Haley back safe and sound.
So when the heinous day came around, it happened when you were in the car with Aaron and pulled up to his house. It was a race against time. You heard the gunshots. You didn’t know it then but that feeling means you just knew. You heard him say goodbye to his wife, now he was just praying that his son was still alive.
That day would forever be engrained into yours and Aaron’s minds. You hated that Haley lost her life that day, but she saved Jack’s life, there’s no doubt about it. Shortly after Haley’s death, some good things happened in Aaron’s life.
He had you. He realized that you were the one for him, so when he decided to propose one night, he knew that if you were to say yes, he’d never let you go, that he’d protect you of every evil thing in the world. Jack was so thrilled that you were going to marry his dad. Aaron knew that having you around had been a lot easier when they lost Haley. Jack had a “mother-figure” in his life, and it was someone he already knew was going to love him like his mom did.
And it was true, you loved him so much. He was your step son. He would come to you with questions, if he was scared, for extra cuddles. Jack was amazing. He was a great bonus son that you were so happy was in your life.
It wasn’t long after you and Aaron tied the knot that you and him started talking about having a baby. His biggest fear was that you and him would bring a child into the world, but that child not growing up with both parents, that child losing his mother or father due to the nature of their job.
It was a conversation you and Aaron had had multiple times. You knew that if you and Aaron kept talking about it, you would never be able to have kids. His doubts were always the topic of having conversations, you understood all the doubts he had, but if the baby you and Aaron brought into the world had two loving parents and Jack as a big brother, that baby would be very happy. You knew you just had to get Aaron out of his head, to show him that he was already an amazing father to Jack.
It wasn’t long after that conversation when there was a case the BAU had that involved a family. The family you ended up saving had a baby about a month old, a 4 year old, and a 7 year old. Very similar to the family you were going to have with Aaron. When Aaron saw you being so gentle with the baby and the two older kids, he knew right then and there he wanted you to be a mother to more of his children.
He saw the way you cradled the baby’s head and protected the baby from the mess that was being cleaned up of the unsub. He watched as you sat with the older kids and played a game with them while feeding the baby, waiting for the parents to come get them. He was head over heels in love with you, and seeing you with kids got him going. He wanted to give you a baby, if he was the parent that were to go first, he knew that Jack and any other children you may have would be in good hands.
A few weeks later, you found yourself going to the doctor with Aaron and finding out you were pregnant. It wasn’t a surprise, nearly a shock that Aaron could knock you up on the first try. You were in awe at the way he was already so in love with the little blob of what would be your baby with Aaron.
You began crying at the sight of Aaron and the fact that this was your life. Your best friend who became your husband who was now going to be the father to your child. You couldn’t wait to start telling your BAU family. You couldn’t wait to tell Jack. He’s been asking for a baby brother or sister ever since he got into elementary school. A lot of his friends have siblings who are younger than Jack’s age and so you know Jack would be ecstatic to hear that his Dad and Mom were going to be having a baby.
The preganncy was special. It was your first pregnancy, so you didn’t know what to expect. You had many friends who had been pregnant, but you were always prepared for the auntie role, not the mom role.
You decided to give Jack an ultrasound photo because he had a little nightstand that he had decorated with photos of Haley, you, Aaron, and his BAU family. You remember saying, “Hey Jack, daddy and I got you a new photo to add to your night stand! Do you want to see?”
You felt Aaron’s hand tighten on your stomach, as you reached down to give Aaron the gift. He opened it up and saw the picture of the ultrasound. He looked at you and Aaron with a puzzled look and said, “What’s this mom and dad?”
“Well, we wanted you to have a piece of your newest sibling on the table. What do you think?”
You immediately saw Jack begin to process the words that Aaron just spoke and his eyes immediately light up, asking the question of “this is my sibling?”
You were so happy that Jack was happy. You watched him race to his nightstand and place the picture next to you, Aaron, and Jack. Aaron kissed your cheek and whispered in your ear, “Told ya he’d be happy.”
Slowly as your pregnancy went on, Jack was fantastic. He was always giving you extra cuddles when Aaron wasn’t around. That’s when you found yourself around 22 weeks pregnant. Aaron basically told you that you were on desk duty, not letting you go into the field.
You got to spend more and more time with Jack, which was great. He was a mini-version of Aaron. He always followed you around the house, he never let you lift anything and if you needed something, he wouldn’t let you get up from the couch. He would always do it. It truly was learned behavior from Aaron. Aaron was the same exact way with you.
Jack was at school, you were at home, deciding to take the day off from the BAU. You found yourself more exhausted so you told Aaron you were taking the day off, try to get some house work done. By housework, you mean by just catching up on some of your favorite TV shows.
You had been feeling off since the morning, but you didn’t know what was going on. It wasn’t until you felt a gush of water come from your legs, your water had just broke. You were only 22 weeks, too soon to bring a baby into the world.
You got in the car, making your way to the hospital. You called Aaron, you didn’t want to freak him out, but you were scared. You don’t remember any of your friends going into labor this early. You were scared, you had every right to be.
“Honey, what/s going on?”
“So, um, my water just broke, I’m at the hospital. Can you, can you please come here.”
“Of course. I’m. I’m on my way, is our baby okay?”
“I don’t-I don’t know Aaron, but I’m scared, I’m getting ready to walk in. Please hurry.”
Everything felt like it was in slow-mo. You got into a hospital room, the doctor’s quickly hooking you up to a monitor and figuring out if your son or daughter would be okay. Nobody would tell you what would happen.
You just know that a frantic Aaron had burst into your room, quickly finding you and running to your side. He hadn’t felt so nervous or sick to his stomach since the day Haley died. He didn’t want the same outcome today.
“Any updates?”
“They’re just monitoring me. I’m scared, Aaron. It’s too early. Everyone knows that.”
“Let’s just take a deep breath. I’m here. We’ll get through this.”
After a few hours later, your contractions weren’t getting any better. It was making you nervous. Your nervousness never subsided, especially when the doctor came in with the NICU team, saying that your baby boy or girl was going to be born today.
After less than an hour of pushing, you finally heard the cries of your baby. Cries meant your son or daughter was alive. It would be the most joyous sound you heard that day.
“Congrats mom and dad, it’s a boy.”
You looked at Aaron and he kissed your forehead.
“We had a boy. We have another son. We did it.”
As your baby was getting cleaned up, the NICU team took him, while your OB/GYN was taking care of you. You knew your son wasn’t out of the clear yet, he was born at 22 weeks. That’s a lot earlier than most babies. His lungs were barely developed. It scared you.
Within the next couple hours, you met your son. He was beautiful. He was tiny, but beautiful. You and Aaron hadn’t thought much about names, but you two had some in mind. You thought a lot about what you wanted and took some name suggestions from Aaron.
“Jordan Hotchner. What do you think, Aar?”
“I love it. Jack’s going to love it too.”
When your baby was rolled into your room, the nurse explained skin to skin contact would be best for him. Aaron quickly shedded his dress shirt and picked up Jordan, sitting carefully on the bed with him next to you. As you two held your son, you were just missing Jack, who would be excited to meet his baby brother after school.
And you were right, when Jessica brough Jack in to meet his baby brother he was so excited. You couldn’t believe the sight that was happening in front of you. Jack had run to Aaron and immediately began crying at how excited he was that his little brother was here.
It brought a tear to your eye to see how complete your oldest son be so excited to meet the newest addition to the family. When Aaron let go of Jack, he carefully sat on the bed next to you and Aaron explained to him that Jordan was very tiny so Jack needed to be super, super careful with him. You watched as your three boys were on the couch, Jack being so gentle with Jordan. Aaron watching as the two boys he loved more than anything in the world be so gentle and loving with each other.
That night, as all four of you slept in the hospital, eveyrthing was just right. You had your sons and your husband by yourside. Everything was great. Life was good. You were thanking your lucky stars that your little boy was okay.
Until that lucky star crashed. You woke up early morning to the sound of the nurses rushing in, saying that they noticed something off on the baby monitor and were coming to check him out. You were scared. Not really knowing what was happening. When you reached over for Aaron, he just held you. He was scared too, but he knew he had to be there for you. If he was scared, he knew you weren’t any better.
It was only a little later, after Jack left for school with Jessica that the doctor came in. You couldn’t believe the words that were coming out of her mouth. You didn’t want to believe it. This had to be the biggest punch in the stomach known to mankind. You and Aaron wanted a to have another baby, and now that Jordan was here, you wouldn’t be able to raise him into a sweet young man that you envisioned for him.
The “I’m sorry, there’s nothing more we can do except monitor and keep him comfortable” is one of the worst things you could ever here, and you never want to hear it again. You wouldn’t wish it on your worst enemy.
How were you going to survive this? What were you going to do? This had to be your fault. You couldn’t create a home in your body and your son couldn’t survive the outside world just yet. It had to be your fault, right?
As you sat with Aaron in the nicu, just watching your son, he held you in his arms as you began to cry for what seemed like the 100th time that day.
“I’m a terrible mother, Aaron. I-I couldn’t even keep him safe, couldn’t keep him healthy. Our son is going to die because of me.”
“Hey, hey. No. No. It’s not your fault, you can’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault, honey. Listen, let’s just make what time he has left some of the best moments we’ll remember with him. Getting to hold him for the first time, hearing him cry. Watching Jack interact with Jordan for the first time. Jordan knows how loved he is. We still have him here, maybe there’s a miracle somewhere. The world owes us something good, don’t you think? We’ve been through enough trauma. Maybe Jordan’s going to be okay.”
You didn’t have the strength to argue with him. You didn’t have the strength or the heart to tell him he’s wrong and that Jordan wouldn’t be okay. Even if he were to survive the next two weeks, it would still be a long way until he’s out of the clear to go home. You couldn’t fathom a life without Jordan now that you had a small glimpse of it with him in your family. You couldn’t begin to even THINK what you were going to tell Jack. Jack was 7 years old and has already experienced more loss in life than anyone 3 times his age.
You didn’t know what to think. Jordan was still alive in your life. You couldn’t start prepping for a life without him just yet, you haven’t had any time to experience much life with him. You didn’t think there was any way to imagine a life without your child. You didn’t want to lose him. Not yet. You wanted more time.
The next few days were awful. You were discharged from the hospital but you weren’’t going home with your baby. As Aaron helped you into the apartment, you couldn’t help but breakdown crying.
Your son was still alive, but you were crying as if he was gone already. You never imagined that you’d have to come home someday without your baby. That instead of planning a little get together with your family and friends to meet the baby, you and Aaron would have to plan a funeral. You couldn’t begin to imagine the size of the casket he’d be in.
Over the next week or so, you and Aaron spent every minute you could at the hospital. Aaron decided that it was best if he tried to explain to Jack what was going on, so while you stayed at the hospital with Jordan, JJ came and relieved Aaron while he took Jack home to explain what was happening.
You and Aaron talked about it, and you just weren’t ready to have that conversation with Jack. Aaron knew what headspace you were in and knew it wouldn’t be good for you either, especially when Jack would have questions. You weren’t able to answer his questions and Aaron understood.
After that, the BAU constantly came and checked in, one of them always staying with Jack when needed. Will had been bringing Henry over more and more for Jack in hopes that it’d keep Jack’s mind off things.
You were glad you had a loving family. You were happy the BAU brought you something good of the additional family members and their endless amount of love and support. As you and Aaron stayed in the hospital the next couple days, you soaked up as much time you could with Jordan.
Only a few hours later, the doctor had come in to tell you that Jordan’s lungs were getting weaker and that he didn’t have much longer.
You and Aaron sat on the hospital bed, holding Jordan in your arms, as close as you could to the both of you.
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t give you a longer life, Jordan. Just know you’re one of the best things to happen to me, your daddy, and your big brother Jack. We love you so much.”
The tears wouldn’t stop flowing from your eyes. You felt Aaron take a deep, shaky breath and kissed your cheek. He pulled your body closer to him and you passed Jordan to Aaron. You know that if Aaron never got to hold him in his arms again, it would ruin him.
Aaron held Jordan against his chest and it amazed you how his hand was the same size as Jordan. Your baby boy was tiny, he wouldn’t grow any more than he was born. It hurt your heart. You hated seeing Aaron upset, you hated knowing that your baby boy was in the final hours of his very short life. You hated that you couldn’t do anything about it.
What kind of sick world was this?
As you and Aaron both held your little boy in your arms, you watched him take his last breath. Sobs overtaking both of your bodies as your little boy, os full of life, was now just a lifeless body.
You didn’t want to let go of him. You held him and when the nurses came to take him, you tried to tell them just one more minute. You weren’t ready to let him go. If you let him go, it became real.
When the nurse was finally able to take your son, you couldn’t help but grab onto Aaron even tighter. How were you now going to go home and tell Jack that his little brother wasn’t here anymore? How were you going to survive this?
“What do you want to do? We can go home, we can pick up food, we can go to your parents’ house, we can go anywhere but here.”
“I want to go see Jack. He-He needs to know, Aaron. I just want to hold our one little boy that we still have.”
“Okay. Let’s go. Let’s go.”
Spending the rest of the night with Jack, just being vulnerable and open with him and Aaron was a part of the healing process you didn’t know you needed. You didn’t need an explanation when you burst into random tears. Aaron didn’t need an explanation when he just wanted to hug you and never let you go. The team didn’t need an explanation when Aaron texted Rossi the devastating news and that you guys needed time off and time alone, not up for visitors just yet.
The next few days went by in a blur. You had to go to the funeral home with Aaron, pick out a casket for your little boy. That’s something you never wanted to experience. You know, with your line of work, other families had to experience it, you just never thought your family would be one to experience such a small casket.
The funeral went by in a blur. You just remember crying more than anything. You had your parents hold you when Aaron couldn’t. Aaron spent a majority of the time talking to everyone who had shown up. You just weren’t ready for a conversation yet. It also made you think that people thought you were a horrible mother. Deep down you knew you weren’t, you knew you would blame yourself, but you couldn’t help it.
After the funeral, you, Jack, Aaron, and the BAU family decided that they needed to get you all out of the house and decided to treat you to dinner. Aaron’s hand never left your body the entire night. He always had his hand on you, whether it was in your hand, on your leg, your back, over your shoulder, he was always touching you, trying to comfort you, trying to ground you to reality.
You and Aaron took a month of leave from the BAU. You knew they were down two agents, he’d have a lot of work to come back too but you two needed to be with each other, needed a break from the world and just be with each other.
During your time, you slowly were getting better. Of course you would never forget Jordan and the pain of losing him will never be easy, but when you thought about him, you would smile, knowing you gave him the best life you could for the time he was on Earth with you, Aaron, and Jack.
What you didn’t expect on your time off from the BAU was your BAU family stopping over all at once, bringing over lanterns. Reid has his fact explanation about Chinese lanterns being lit and you tuned him out, just soaking in the time with your extended family. You wanted to do this. Everyone was coming together for Jordan.
As you all gathered outside to light the lanterns, you and Aaron lit one together with Jack and you all carefully let it go into the sky. Part of you felt a weight lifted off your shoulders, knowing that doing this would give you a happy memory of your son.
You just hoped that you were making your son happy, for the amount of time he kenw you, he hopes he knows how much love you gave him, how you would have give him anything he needed if that meant you had to go first, how he knows he was loved so much by you, Aaron, and Jack, and of course his BAU aunties and uncles.
As you leaned back into Aaron, he kissed your cheek and wrapped his arms around you. There was hope that things would get better as you watched the lanterns be delivered to your baby boy. You knew you and Aaron would be okay. You knew Jack would be okay. Uou knew someday when you thought ofJordan, you wouldn’t cry, you would smile and be proud of your son, and how hard he fought to live on this world for two weeks.
**Five Years Later**
Sitting around the table with Jack, your twin sons, Jason, Jasper, and your newest addition, Josie, you couldn’t help but think about Jordan and how he would’ve been 5 years old today. You miss him everyday. He’s always a part of your life. The best picture that Jack has on his nightstand and you have framed in yours and Aaron’s bedroom is a pic that Penelope took. The night the BAU came over to light the lanterns. Penelope snagged the picture of you, Jack, and Aaron sending them up to the sky.
Jordan was always with you. Jack may have not gotten a lot of time with Jordan, but he was a great big brother to Jason, Jasper, and Josie.
“So, what are we doing today, mom? Dad?”
You looked over at Aaron as he was rocking her to sleep. Aaron smiled and began talking.
“Well, your aunts and uncles are going to come over to hangout with us and spend some time with Josie, and then tonight, we’re going to say hello to Jordan. We’ll get Josie in on our tradition.”
“I think that sounds great, Dad. Can I tell you guys something?”
You looked at Jack, eagerly nodding so he could tell you whatever is needed. You watched as Aaron shifted in the chair a bit, letting Jack know he had his full attention.
“I think Jordan is with us all the time. I know I was young but it feels like yesterday I got to hold him for the first time. I absolutely loved being his big brother, even if it was only for two weeks. But, I think he sent Jason, Jasper, and Josie to us. He’s with us when we light the lanterns every year for his birthday. He would be so proud of us. I just know he’s looking down on us right now and seeing how happy we are with our family and how much we miss him.”
You didn’t miss the way Aaron had moved to stand and make his way over to Jack. Aaron was proud of his son. That was his first born. His little boy that he had with Haley. You stood up, too. This was the little boy you held in the hospital for the first time after Aaron and Haley held him.
You took Josie from Aaron’s arms and watched as Aaron wrapped his arms around Jack. Jack reached out his other hand and you amde your way with some of your favorite boys. The twins got off their seats and came to hug you all as well.
“I love you, Jack. Jordan is so lucky to have you as his big brother. Just as the three kids are so lucky to have you as their big brother now. You’re the best big brother in the world. You’re a better big brother than I ever was to uncle Sean. I’m so proud of you.”
You wiped the tears that had begun to fall from your eyes at the sentimental moment that was happening in your kitchen.
Later that evening, as you all were standing outside, you grabbed the lanterns and knelt down next to the twins, letting them “help” you hold the lantern. You told them to wave Hi to Jordan and tell them they loved him.
As your family stood there, watching the lanterns fly into the sky, thinking of how Jordan should have been 5 today, it made you realize how lucky you were that even after the loss of Jordan, you were still able to have three more kids who were living their best life.
As you kissed Aaron, he wiped a tear from your cheek. You and him had been through a lot, the loss of a child takes a toll on a family. But, through communication, counselors, you both got through it. You certainly knew you couldn’t replace Jordan with more kids, that’s why when you found yourself pregnant 8 months later, you were shocked to say the least. To find out it was twins was an even bigger shock. You two weren’t trying and twins didn’t run in the family. When Josie came around, you were trying to get a little girl from Aaron and you think somehow Jordan knew that his dad needed a little girl.
Life has been rough, but if it weren’t for Aaron, your kids, and the BAU family, you never would be able to make it through. They give you strength for getting up everyday and every morning when you wake up, you always think to yourself “how am I going to make Jordan proud and be the mom he should have had.”
Getting the kids in bed that night, you kissed them all and then made your way with Aaron onto the couch. As he held onto you, he hugged you and said, “I know Jordan wasn’t in our lives for long physically, but he’s with us everyday. He’s lucky to have us as our parents. I know losing him was hard and we have to go the rest of our lives without him, but for the short time he was physically here, we gave him every ounce of love that we could give him, and I just know that’s what he remembers about us.”
“I’m so lucky to have you in my life, Aaron Hotchner. I wouldn’t want to go through this life with anyone else. Thank you. I love you.”

Ever since you had met Arthur, you had had a budding friendship; when he first met you, you were just a lowly farmhand, tending to the cattle more than anything, and he had stumbled upon you when he was trying to escape from a storm.
It became somewhat commonplace after that - he would come over in the dead of night, hat in hand and puppy dog eyes all blue and sweet on you. Almost begging for sanctuary from either bounty hunters or the weather.
It didn’t matter much to you which he was escaping from, always happy to welcome him into the barn where you slept above the cattle. Yet there was one thing that Arthur would never admit to. He would never be caught dead admitting that he enjoyed your company a lot more than as a friend, not in the slightest.
Of course, he wanted to, but he knew that it wasn’t right; pulling you into his life, into what he did. Forcing your hand and making you choose between immediate heartache or eventual heartbreak. He didn’t want to put you into that position.
It was too dangerous for you to be around him. He knew that all too well, and knew that he had to break it off with you as quickly as possible, save you from missing him.
It was late, around twenty past two in the morning, when Arthur climbed through the window in the barn; he found you awake in your spot above the cattle, a little lamp burning next to you as you flicked through a dime novel.
He wanted to smile, but knew he couldn’t as he settled himself next to you all too naturally. You immediately leaned into him, humming softly as you thumbed through the book; Arthur couldn’t bring himself to speak yet, putting his arm around your shoulders as he grumbled softly under his breath.
You eventually closed your book, looking up at him and humming contently.
“Howdy, stranger.”
Arthur’s breath caught in his throat as he blushed a little bit. “Hey… you alright?”
You nodded, pushing yourself away a little so you could look into his eyes for a moment. “You look upset - what’s happened?”
He shrugged, taking off his hat and fiddling with the bit of rope around it. “I, erm… look, I ain’t no good at this stuff, but… I think it’s best I go away… and don’t come back.”
You furrowed your brows, tilting your head to the side. “Why?”
“You ain’t gonna be safe,” he explained, “if I keep comin’ here… you ain’t gonna be safe. It’s too dangerous for me to keep comin’ here.”
You shook your head. “You… no.”
“I gotta,” he whispered, gently cupping your jaw in his rough hands. “I like you a lot, but… I can’t.”
“Arthur,” you whimpered, putting your hands on his as your vision became blurry. “Don’t go, please… I… please don’t go…”
A sting settled in his chest, harsh and cold like the plunge of a dagger; he didn’t want to, but he knew that he would have to in order to protect you from everyone.
The Pinkertons. Bounty hunters. Rival gangs.
He was putting you at risk by being near you. He let out a shaky sigh, clenching his jaw for a moment before pulling away.
“It’s for the best,” he told you.
“I know, it’s… it’s stupid of me, to think that you would wanna be more than friends,” you muttered. “But please… please don’t go… I promise I’ll be good for you…”
Arthur sighed, wishing he could close himself up completely, destroy the part of him that overwhelmingly wanted to stay; he settled back down at your side, moving so that he could rest his head on your stomach.
“I don’t wanna see you get hurt, ‘s all…”
“I can handle a shotgun,” you whispered. “I promise, I won’t get in the way.”
He was still screaming at himself for staying, but when you settled down, almost cuddling into him when he fidgeted around to let you have some comfort, holding onto him so tightly, he knew he didn’t have the strength.
He wasn’t strong enough to walk away, to heed the warnings and to know that he was going to cause your death.
Arthur sighed heavily, shaky as he tugged you closer. “I shouldn’t stay…”
“Please do,” you mumbled. “I… Arthur, I’m… I’m so fucking fond of you.”
A sinking feeling snuggled down into his stomach as he held onto you. “I know.”
Arthur knew it more than anybody; his lifestyle, the path he had chosen and couldn’t wander or stray from, was going to be the death of you. He didn’t want your blood on his hands, but even more than that, he didn’t want you to get hurt; he didn’t want you to suffer the heartbreak when he was eventually killed.
He didn’t want you to suffer the heartache of missing him all the time.
But you were so adamant that, for a few fleeting moments, he thought that he could actually be happy; he thought that he had actually found someone who accepted him entirely and didn’t fool themselves into thinking that he would ever be able to leave his outlaw days.
Yet the risk still weighed heavily on his shoulders, and he couldn’t help it as he grumbled and gently ran his hand up and down your bare skin. It felt so good to be loved, to be wanted.
It felt so good to be holding onto someone who genuinely wanted and needed him there that he was almost about to forget the risk he was putting you in. He almost forgot that danger followed him like an old hunting dog.
But maybe… maybe for just one night, he could try and be happy.
He could try to ignore the fact that he was going to be your cause of death; that he was going to make you hurt in such awful ways nobody could ever imagine.

Duty of a right hand man: Bael
My clock says it's angst time, and since I am cursed with the ability to arrange the letters of the alphabet in a certain order, I am going to share it with you. These boys lives in hell and I’m gonna make it literal. I'm sorry, Bael, but you're perfect for this. Words count: 724 Warning: cruelty, blood, indication of death
꧁*:・ ✡ ・:*꧂
Slashed bodies of angels littered the street at Bael's feet. Limbs and torsos, chopped with a whip, lay in dead silence; white feathers were lost in the snow, which had soaked up red with pools of blood. It was not the first and not the last time that a self-proclaimed legion entered Avisos. Today there were more of them than ever, but they were no wiser. Bael relaxed his hand. He didn't need a weapon as the last noises of the battle had died down moments ago. Naberius should organize the medics, Stolas collect the wounded, and Amon get rid of the enemy remnants. The boys were a crazy but well-oiled machine. He sighed and slumped against the wall. Just a moment. He needed to breathe.
Things would be much easier if Beel were with them. Either him, or Descendant of Solomon. Bael felt a strange stinging just above the hip when he thought about them. They didn't see each other often. He didn't have time for that, and they seemingly didn’t care about it. They were almost always with Beel, busy with God knows what; probably with everything but their duties. Although after all the time Bael had spent as a false king, maybe ruling wasn’t Beelzebub duty anymore. To negotiate, to fight, to reign. It's just... it would be nice to have someone by your side. Of course, he was neither surprised nor angry. Who wants to work when they can party and travel? And apparently with someone who's worth it?
The pain intensified and nausea rose in his throat. He was Beel's best friend, he agreed to leave everything and do anything to help his King and Avisos. Just those... thoughts started to come more and more often. Today they were especially torn and mixed. That’s why Bael preferred to be so busy that he fell asleep standing up. A disloyal regent? This country deserves better.
He took a rasping breath. A cloud of steam rose from his lips, danced over the chest and blurred in cold air.
In needed to distract himself he tried to stand up, but his legs somehow refused to obey.  Fire seems to burn in his side, making it more and more unbearable. He took out his phone and stared at Beel's number. It would be a holiday if he answered. For a moment, emptiness filled Bael's head like cotton, vast and foggy. Slowly, he dialed the number of the second person who came to his mind. And who possibly would like to spare some time for him.
“Hello?”
“MC, who’s calling?”
“Don't be interested, it’s my business!”
Two voices of two people whom Bael considered his closest. Probably if Beel hears him, he'll hang up immediately.
“Nevermind. Bael, what’s up?”
“I... Avisos... Avisos is doing great.” He gripped his side. His hand might as well have been a red-hot rod stuck in his ribs. He slowly realized why it was so painful. Sticky blood flowed through his fingers. As the puddle of redness was growing on the frozen sidewalk, he stared hypnotized. So much… Where did it come from?
“This failure of a man just tried to feed me with a fried cockroach.”
“Come on baby, it’ll be funny!”
The snow melted into the red liquid, but Bael felt no cold. Every breath burned. Each breath made him feel lighter. Indeed, funny…  The voices of the argument also became quieter.
“I just... it’s good to hear you. Both.”
“Bael! Tell them, you would trust me, wouldn't you? I promise cockroaches tastes great and are full of protein.”
“I would.” He closed his eyes and added in his thoughts: I always did.
Slowly through the muffled mind a smells begin to tickle his nose. The iron scent of blood, the lilac stench of angelic bodies. His eyes were open, but instead of darkness, everything turned white. It was as if the steam from his mouth had completely obscured the view. He couldn't follow the conversation anymore, but those two voices made him feel... cozy. As if they were right next to him. As if the pain had almost stopped choking him.
With the last of his consciousness, he put the call on speakerphone before his hand fell to his side. His head dropped. Snowflakes stuck into his chilling body like needles.
The last thing he wanted to remember was them. Hearing both of them, happy and safe… maybe it wasn’t so bad after all.
