THEY HAVE THE SAME SENSE OF HUMOR AND YOU CANT TELL ME OTHERWISE
they both like dad jokes
and they both like to play dumb pranks like
tying tims shoelaces together, but they dont want tim to get hurt so they install padded floors in the batcave

they LOVE short animated films and tear up every time they watch lava
not to mention bruce is secretly really interested in how duke's powers work

ok so this one isn't really underrated but like idk when i'll talk about them again - sorry if this a lil lengthy
personally, i think they first bond over their love of mythology
tim who read percy Jackson as a kid meeting dami who's likes to learn about diff cultures
after finding out tim knows Greek mythology, damian warms up to him just a lil
tim of course, is really glad to finally make a sort of connection with his lil bro
they get along well after discussing myths a few times
tim introduces dami to percy Jackson and dami introduces tim to a bunch of different myths and legends
they make it a weekly thing to just sit, read and have tea
they love discussing about the similarities between different myths
they watch the miscellaneous myths series on youtube together !!!
they actually get along really well with each other
but they hide it so they dont get teased by the others
they have a lotta hang time since theyre both also at ma kent's house a lot
damian's the type of brother to third wheel a date to make sure kon is treating tim right
mind you, damian's old fashion, if kon doesn't offer a seat for tim, damian glares at him

I remember watching young justice as a kid, and especially wally's death and just being like. what was the narrative point here. shock value? simply to make us cry? and with kon and Connor it's so jarring to me when people do crossover with yj and other universes and no one like. acknowledges that Connor looks and acts like a completely different person, it's a small pet peeve of mine
It's interesting to hear the point of view of someone who discovered it as a kid. I'm glad it's not only me being old and bitter. 😆
And again, YJ's version of Conner was "canon" for a while. Fans had to wait for years to have a Conner that's closer to Kon from the 90's comics.
We had Superboy from the Reign of Supermen animated movie but it's not enough, especially after they killed off his character like that. Fans deserve a legit adaptation of Kon from the old comics or something that looks more like it.

Tbh? With everything DC is doing to reestablish legacy character and how they fit into the current timeline, it actually would be interesting to see Kon’s early days done again. Before, Kon had his whole Disney Child Actor™️ arc primarily because of 1) Editorial Mandate surrounding Clark and his supporting cast, and 2) His writers using him as their own self-insert.
Idk, I think it would be interesting to see a Kon who was sent to live with his grandparents earlier, like in Reign of the Supermen animated.
everything about kon’s original comic is very much a product of its time, in all the best and worst ways. reign of the supermen had a pretty solid take on an updated version of kon that still feels like the same character as the original 90s comics, but i definitely wouldn’t mind seeing the comics do a rework of his origin story in a year one type book. i’ve really liked kenny porter’s writing on kon thus far, and it’s clear in sb:mot that he knows kon’s canon and understands him, so i’d love to see what he’d do with something like a year one book for him.

My name is Alex and I'm an 2D Animation Major. I'm a big fan of Pop Art like Roy Lichtenstein or Takashi Murakami. Also other more contemporary Influences are artists like Jamie Hewlett, Sean Danconia, Pendleton Ward, Ilya Kuvshinov etc. I love movies like Raimi's Evil Dead/Spider-Man trilogies, Big Trouble in Little China, Tarantino films, Scott Pilgrim, Total Recall, Ferris Bueller or a variety of 80s/90s flicks. Any Miyazaki film like Cagliostro or Satoshi Kon & Mamoru Hosoda's works. Other shit like the Brendan Fraser Mummy movies or Roger Rabbit and the plethora of comic book films. Also a lot of animation: cartoon, anime or otherwise. Sitcoms, Romcoms and whatever I've re-watched a 1000 times.
I like collecting art pieces that I have the wherewithal to. Like art prints like giclees or canvases. Or art toys or comics. Whatever appeals to me aesthetically. I also collect vinyl's and cassettes. Hip-hop, pop punk, city pop, lo-fi, post-hardcore; just music I'd love to have a dope physical copy of. I really love artists like Gorillaz, Mac Miller, The Wonder Years, Nujabes, MF Doom, All Time Low, Yuji Ohno etc. and just again a bunch of shit but this probably isn't as brief as it should be sorry. I'm more of an indoors kid but I love going to bay areas when I can.
For the main thing that concerns the class. I'd like to learn more about camera work and understanding a different art form I'm really not that all familiar with. I have a base level or understanding and I intend to do a lot of freelance and comission work so it'd be nice to know a wide variety of mediums to work into my repertoire I guess.

I actually first saw Kon in the animated Young Justice cartoon and I latched onto him like a baby duck as soon as he came on screen. @thequiver can verify. There really wasn’t a reason, I just went “that one” and it stuck. Then I read his comics and it got even worse

No one. Kon dates a lot in his solo comics and there’s a lot I could say about it but pretty much they’re not good relationships. So I’d really rather see Kon be single and become more comfortable with himself than see him in a romantic relationship

He has Lex’s eyes, so he wears the sunglasses to cover them because he’s insecure about it.

Squidbillies #49: "Reunited, And It feels No Good" | July 20, 2009 - 12:00AM | S04E09
The Cuylers have a dang old family reunion, and guess what? Extended family actually shows up to it. They are significantly wealthier than the Dougal County Cuylers, what with owning a modern car with DVD players and refrigerated air.
This is the family of Durwood Cuyler, who stands upright like a man, shoving most of his tentacles into a pair of shoes. He’s a yuppy, an outdated term that I don’t feel like updating. He is also a family man; he married a blonde human woman with a Karen hairdo, a recently outdated term that is actually too modern for me to be using about a show from 2009. They also have two kids who never speak because they are glued to their devices. I think we can all agree on one thing: Durwood simply gave up.
The episode is basically about the two Cuyler clans clashing, slightly. Early hints at the fact that they could use some of Durwood’s money. His wife is steadfast against them even associating with Early’s family altogether. Early reveals his investment plan: a plushie from that Cheyenne Cinnamon “movie” that Burger King is showing, which according to my tepid googling hasn’t actually happened yet. I’m referring to the "Big Uber Network Sampling", an event where, if I recall correctly, a bunch of Adult Swim pilots that were available on a Burger King website. I think the idea was the pilots were pitted against each other in various matches, and the winner got to, as it turns out, continue being a rejected pilot. Cheyenne Cinnamon was one of those pilots. We see a little more footage of that playing in the headrest screens of Durwood’s family Durango.
Durwood is so horrified by the treatment of Rusty (who has lockjaw from running barefoot through animal feces), that when Rusty shows Durwood his art project (which is just a glitter drawing urging Durwood to help him get the fuck away from Early’s abuse), Durwood decides to take rusty off Early’s hands for “a couple days”. As they speed away, Durwood tells Rusty he’s never going back there again, and that they’re going to set up a cot in the garage. Early is ecstatic to be rid of Rusty, but when he’s reminded that his government checks will stop coming he becomes incensed. TO BE CONTINUED.
A common response I have to Squidbillies is that I’ll watch it for a few minutes and think “hey, I think I like this show, actually”, but then I'm ready for it to end and it’s not even half over yet. That’s sorta where I was with this one. Lucky for me, it’s technically not over. This is a bonafide two-parter. When it originally aired they played both episodes back-to-back, but as far as I can tell they were always considered two separate episodes. I will be considering them two separate write-ups. Okay!

Robot Chicken Star Wars Episode II DVD (July 21, 2009)
I'm stubbornly sticking to my stated mission of making you aware of every DVD release from Adult Swim in a rough chronological order compared to the Adult Swim television timeline. As such, I wind up spotlighting releases that I have nothing to say about, and no significant feelings felt for. This one has 90 minutes of extra features, which I'm pretty sure is longer than the special itself. I also believe this is the extended cut of the special (or at the very least the DVD includes the extended cut), which I think aired on TV too. I forget. I don't like thinking about this show, or the intellectual property known as Star Wars. Thanks.

What made you ship it?
I remember watching the really old Superman cartoon of the 40s when I was little on Cartoon Network and I was just in tune with their dynamic. Even more so when the 90s animated series came out.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
The classic trope of the hero saves a girl thing but with attitude added on; Clark was the one obvious of course the hero he had a gentle soul and just wanted to help those who needed it. Though yes Lois did get captured a lot😅, but also Lois showed some of her own back bone when she was and gave in of her own strength too, even though she was just human. Along with how they had a good relationship between on and off work is what caught my attention.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Hm I won't say Lois does get on my nerves a bit cause she can be a bit much but then again she's just human so I just let it by pass it and remember that mainly she is a caring deep person when it comes to the truth and others so it doesn't affect me that much

it’s easy to lose sight of rukia just hanging out in the world of the living, sleeping in ichigo’s closet, etc, but she’s isolated from her friends, in deep trouble wrt the “gave up all my powers to a human by accident” thing, and there’s no one she feels she can really reach out to. :(

i’ve never actually seen ‘this is us’ but i’ve read some of the vulture recaps and this chap actually reminded me of the latest (sorry paywalled) a bit? you have a mom who is a superwoman to her kids to some degree and they want to be the ones who protect her but don’t know how, and have built up an unrealistic image of her....tho, obviously, the kurosaki kids were still rly young at this point, not actual adults approaching middle age
anyway, dr kurosaki, good job on not sending your kid to therapy after having witnessed his mother’s death at the age of 9! (i mean yeah this would have been the 90s and there’s the whole ghost thing, but...at least recognize your kid’s carrying that guilt around with him and talk to him about it in the ensuing 6-7 years)

Ten shadows Technique
Manipulating shadows as medium into ten kinds of shikigami
The inherited technique of Zenin family which uses shadow medium to summon forth shikigami with various ability previously laid down. Literally, there are ten types of shikigami, the first to be granted to the user is a pair of Jade Dogs, White and Black, other than them, the user has to subdue shikigami by performing subduing rite. Once the shikigami is subdued, the user can summon them freely. A shikigami which was destroyed completely can’t be summoned again, but their techniques and power are inherited by other shikigami.

The initial shikigami, Jade Dogs have high speed, excellent at sensing and searching. Highly convenience shikigami.
From the destroyed white jade dog, black jade dog receives its power and powered up to be Jade dog Kon (totality).
There are 6 types of shikigami Megumi already subdued except Kon (expansion technique is also excluded). Counting out Makora which has yet to be subdued, there are 3 other types of shikigami.
Heavenly general Makora : the shikigami which still can’t be subdued by any successor of ten shadow technique sorcerers. It’s able to analyze its enemy, to develop resistance and land effective hits (on them).
Seitei shirazu (Bottomless well) : shikigami made from combining of Nue and Toad using expansion technique. Even if the expansion tehcnique is destroyed, it’s still can be summoned.
Domain expansion Kangouan’eitei (Chimera Shadow Garden) : the entire domain is made into swamp made of shadow, where shikigami and bunshin appear, employing the full extent of shadow techniques.

Does Kon exist in the supersons universe? I heard he got erased but how?
Okay so first of all I want to point out there isn't really a 'Super Sons universe', that would just be main continuity at the time Super Sons was coming out (so like that's a few years ago, it started in 2017 in the Rebirth era) unless you mean those au graphic novels with Damian going by "Ian" which I have never seen people actively talk about except to hate on and have never read
So I imagine the place you heard he got erased was this post (or maybe there's another one going around too pointing out the poster?) about this panel:

Because yeah, Jon has a poster with Kon on it in his room... during an era where Kon didn't exist in the main universe.
Until Young Justice (2019) happened, Kon had been entirely wiped from existing and people's memories by the New 52 reboot. When he gets brought back it is explained that he'd been sent to Gemworld before the reboot occurred, and that history basically rewrote over him since he wasn't present in the right universe when it happened.

So yeah! That's what that means. He does exist again now, but at the time that issue of Super Sons had come out he didn't.
