I just had a thought about furaffinity.

Although the majority of the artists I follow on Twitter also have an FA account, few of them update it with everything they post to Twitter.

On the one hand, there is the fact that on FA you have to put in all the details about the image, give it a title, add a description etc… which makes it more difficult and time consuming to upload.

But I think the big reason people don’t use it is the lack of feedback. Images don’t have a like button. You can fave them but not from your submissions feed. Twitter gives you an instant indication of the popularity of an image, people can like it and share it with a single click and that’s why Twitter is so important to artists.

If anyone has a spare bluesky invite please message me with it and I’ll start following artists on there too. Most of the artists I follow have at least got accounts there now and once it opens up it should be a good replacement for twitter.
