My Buddy
Tumblr media
Do you remember singing "My buddy...my buddy...wherever I go...he goes..."? I do. My favorite part of the tune was "my buddy and me". Why? Because the presence of my buddy gave me a sense of security and empowered me to push forward when things seemed dim and gloomy.
In life, everything does not always look good; but that does not mean that what you experience can not work together for your good. Unlike the My Buddy doll that we carried with us as children, there is a friend who sticks closer to us than a brother. His name is Jesus. Know that you always have a "buddy" with you.
This time your buddy has the power to assist you, so go after the big dreams knowing that you are moving as a member of the winning team. This is not the time to throw in the towel and quit. This is the time to seek direction and connect with those who will assist you in your effort to pursue the dreams that God has given to you. Will you embrace the royal you by pursuing big dreams with your buddy today?

❄️𝗠𝗢𝗢𝗗𝗕𝗢𝗔𝗥𝗗 & 𝗦𝗡𝗜𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗧❄️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 - 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 My fingers flew across the keyboard as I zipped out a quick text to Ardit. I debated the number of emojis to add at the end. Five was too overzealous, but one wasn't enthusiastic enough. But as I hit the send button, I heard a voice behind me. "Why don't you just do it the old-fashioned way and actually talk to me?" My eyes widened as I turned to face Ardit. He stood there looking like a cross between an exasperated parent and a bored college student. I had been avoiding him, but fate had other plans for me. "I've been avoiding you." The words came tumbling out of my mouth. Ardit raised an eyebrow as I continued, "I didn't want you to be uncomfortable." ❄️❄️❄️ #writerwednesday #readergram #bookreaders #bookloversunite #booklifestyle #themoonstarsandskychallenge #writergirl #futureauthor #aspiringauthors #aspiringwriter #aspiringauthor #authorscommunity #bookishpost #writergram #bookloversofinstagram #readersofinsta #writersgram #writerscommunityofinstagram #ilovewriting #aspiringauthor #bookalicious #totalbooknerd #booknerds #indieauthors #bookster #writinginspiration #writersofinsta #authorsofig #writerscorner #bookishlove (at Naperville, Illinois) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnlHfuaLKpz/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

TBR Tuesday

I've never read this before in my childhood so I thought I would read it now in my adulthood. I've always wanted to read Ella Enchanted. I will try to post a review on it hopefully soon.

I wanna get into writeblr (writblr? idfk) so here's an introduction
Hi my name is Mew I'm an aspiring author working to get my story kingdoms published in April 2024.
Kingdoms is planned to be a trilogy with possible spinoffs as well depending on my interest and if I can make stories about other characters.
Book 1 of Kingdoms is basically about how this demon, who was once living a peaceful life for a couple thousand years on the fictional planet of Ayuzuma suddenly gets attacked at his family reunion, and he goes off trying to figure out what sparked the attack. His search for answers mostly has to be forgotten in the wake of a war waged by Takahiro and Katherina, two well-known criminals in the land of Ayuzuma. Satan has to scramble to prevent Ayuzuma from being taken over before anything gets worse.
On the side I'm also working on a story in the vein of Percy Jackson, it's a five book series called Keiko Kuromiya, book 1 being The Cut-Faced Woman. The mc, Keiko Kuromiya is a irish-japanese girl who while learned the language and the alphabet wasn't that connected to her Japanese side. She's always known that her parents would move to Japan one day so her father could appease his parents but she didn't expect it'd be during spring break in the middle of her sophomore year. She meets a new friend but also a woman with a cut-faced, Kuchisake-Onna. While the better thing to do is to not tell her she's pretty or ugly and just avoid her, Keiko is curious and wants to investigate, but she'll learn there's more to her friend and Kuchisake-Onna.
Feel free to ask any questions about either of these!

I wish somebody would drown me in formaldehyde.
Why can’t I just die,
every time I want to?
It's because,
you never get what you want.
You’d never learn your lesson anyway.
Who am I to teach,
to make you pay,
anyway?
Anyway.

Dinner Table
The dinner table is full of silent confessional affection,
We sit at opposite ends yet I’ve never felt closer.
Warm food is on the table, but my stomach is full of anticipation.
I pray your name for my thanksgiving,
And I substitute dinner for your lips in my mind.
It must holy to feel something this pure,
This is my last supper.

Float for Life
Have you ever been afraid to swim? I was terrified of swimming. Like most things that we fear intensely, there is typically some form of trauma attached to the fear. When I was a teenager, I went to Rouge Park swimming pool. Like everybody else present, I was having fun until someone got the bright idea to toss me into the deep end of the pool. I could not swim! I felt like I was drowning! Suddenly, someone pulled me out of the water. The guy that threw me into the water apologized stating that he thought I could swim. However, my ears hit the mute button with regards to his excuses for throwing me in the water. Immediately, I screamed at him until I got tired. I was so mad that I wanted to fight that guy, but one of my friends helped me to calm down. From that day forward, I was terrified of swimming, but I loved to relax by water. I loved the water so much, that I would take my nieces, nephews and God-children to waterparks and watch them enjoy the water. Consistently, I said things like "Be careful. Don't go to far. Stay close to the edge of the pool etc". One day, my nephew desired to learn how to swim so that he could play with my other nephews that knew how to swim, but because of how I would yell whenever he moved away from me to a space that I could not personally get to him, he started to be afraid of the water, even when my sister - who was a great swimmer - would say to him "Just relax. I have you." In that moment, I noticed that I was passing down my unhealed trauma to him. I realized that I needed to do something about this fear of swimming. Like a determined investigator, I researched places that offered swimming lessons and signed up for the lessons. During my first day of training, I told my instructor that I was terrified of swimming because I almost drowned. I also told him that I was there to learn because I wanted to help my nephew not be afraid of the water. One of the first things that the instructor said to me was that he was always with me and he would not let anything happen to me. The first task he gave me was to put my head under the water and hold my breath for as longs as I could hold it. With my feet securely on the pool floor, I did pretty decent with this task; however, when he was teaching me how to float backwards, I failed miserably! Not being able to see where I was going, feel my feet on the pool floor etc triggered me to consistently attempt to catch myself. Each time I attempted to control where I floated to etc, I would began to sink. It wasn't until I completely surrendered to the act of floating and allowed the water to carry me while I looked up, that I actually floated from one end of the pool to the other without sinking. The next time I took my nieces, nephews and God-children to the waterpark, I encouraged my nephew to allow my sister to teach him and I got in the water with him. He branched out and continued to practice until he eventually learned how to swim. We celebrated his accomplishment. I could not help but to notice that when I made up my mind to overcome fear, that also freed those I love from it. Somethings should not be passed down; but aggressively annihilated. Today, I encourage you to fully trust God by floating in Him. Keep your head positioned in such a way that your eyes are constantly looking up. Learning how to float in God will cause a domino affect on your life and those attached to you. Embrace the royal you by floating today and see greater results in your life and those attached to you. It's time to float. #royalclarityview #floatinGod #relaxinwater #pooldays

☁️𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗘 𝗦𝗞𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚☁️ Where do you go to get your writing ideas when you need inspiration? I get writing ideas from multiple outlets. Books, music, shows, movies, and even my own dreams. I also get inspiration from nature. I like to take walks and let my imagination take me places I never thought I would go. 'Don't limit your challenges, challenge your limits' means getting out of comfort zones, thinking outside the box, and challenging what is comfortable. Sometimes, we get into an inspirational rut and lose sight of new ways to find ideas. We get comfortable in the safety of tried and true. But what do you do when the same old methods don't work and you're still uninspired? That's when you try new things! Instead of reading, play that video game. Instead of playing the video game, read that book. It's a simple mindset change. How do you challenge yourself? Tell me in the comments below! ❤👇 ☁️☁️☁️ #writersoninstagram #adventuresawait #authorslife #blueskythinking #inspirationalquotesandsayings #writercommunity #comfortzones #writerscommunityofinstagram #adventureisoutthere #aspiringauthors #adventureiscalling #writingprocess #writersgram #aspiringwriter #writergirl #writingadvice #authorscommunity #lifeofawriter #writerlife #inspirationquote #indieauthors #ilovewriting #writingmotivation #writerscorner #writersofinsta #writingtips #writergram #writinginspirationiseverywhere #imagination #writingofig (at Naperville, Illinois) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnHyW8ELcKr/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Motivational Monday

Always making my characters struggle.
What's the worst thing you've ever done to a character?
For me, it's probably killing them off. I've set one of my characters on fire. I won't say who though or from which WIP. I have some even more gruesome death scenes in my WIP but that seems to be the worst IMO.
