Random Critical Role x Genshin Impact ideas bouncing around my head. Are these balanced? Unique? I have no idea, but I'm writing all these down at 1 am based on my more extensive knowledge of Critical Role, and my limited experience with Genshin Impact. I might not be able to properly flesh out each character fully, but this is definitely a place to start.

Caleb Widogast: pyro catalyst user. -His primary attack is fire bolts, charged is a slower moving larger fireball -His elemental skill is a giant flaming cats paw which shoves away from him. Not a lot of damage, but does burn. -His elemental burst is Widogast's Web of Fire; with lines of fire chaining between (5?) nearby targets, burning them deeply -Both of his idle animations involve Frumpkin.

Veth Brenatto: electro bow user. Unfortunately crossbows aren't in the game so this is the closest. -Charged attack is a lightning bolt, with the hidden boost of dealing more damage to targets not engaged with you in combat. -Elemental skill is a burst of 3 electrically charged shots. -Elemental burst is just going invisible, shocking anyone who's close to her.

Fjord Stone: hydro sword user. probably a heavier hitting sword user. -Charged attack probably ends with him misty stepping the opposite side of who he's targeting. Also his sword definitely glows with the power of a smite. -Elemental Skill is basically his eldritch blast. Like, hydro-seawater themed. -No idea for his Elemental Burst quite yet.

Jester Lavorre: dendro catalyst user. really pushes the boundary of what dendro means. -Default attack are little spectral animals tackling their targets. Rainbow colored, obviously. Charged is a sacred flame. -Elemental Skill is very obvious. Summons the spectral Lollypop in a location for a short time, attacking nearby enemies. Slowly follows her. -Elemental burst is spiritual guardians, dealing damage in a radius around her for a time. Same rainbow spectral animals as her default attack.

Caduceus Clay: dendro catalyst user Completely different vibes to Jester despite being the same base class/element as her. A bit harder to figure out his attacks though because unlike Jester, he actually heals his party members. -Default attacks are greenish blasts of sacred flame. -Elemental burst creates a small healing well?? Like a circle of green plants and vibrant flowers that grants some minor healing, or at least damage reduction. Does mark you with drendo, perhaps. -Damn it's hard to think of stuff for Caduceus even though he's one of my favorites. -Idle animation sipping from a teacup.

Yasha Nydroon: electro claymore user electric obviously cause Stormlord and whatnot. -Elemental skill is rage. Shocks things near her, and gives all attacks electric damage, as well as a small damage boost, but has a longer recharge. -Elemental Burst definitely brings her wings out, and gives her weapon and attacks a boost. Big strong damage.

Beauregard Lionette: electro polearm user. Based solely around the fact that she uses a bo-staff and there's no closer martial-arts class. Fast but light attacker, and definitely attacks with both end of the pole. -Charged attacks have a higher chance of staggering/stunning enemies. pop pop. -Elemental skill is her electric gloves! More range then her normal attacks. -Elemental burst is cool monk shit.

okaayyy so first is mk right so abt mk's vision,, mk is like the last in the little hero group to get a vision. hes been tryin for SO LONG to get one and ever since mei got hers hes been kinda more driven to get one himself. he knows theres like- special circumstances involved n hes been tryin to like get that cool thing to happen so they can get theirs but,,, nothins worked yet yknow mk like tries to make guess abt what vision theyre gonna get one day and mei thinks mk is gonna get pyro and like woah cool just like his da-- i mean pigsy!!! so hes not sayin itd be his one and only choice but thinkin about it and what tang has said abt visions he thinks pyro is def possible bc hes real passionate about a lot of things!! like his job and his friendships and MONKEY KING LORE and yknow all that good stuff so he gets it after doin somethin similar to the big fight at the end of a hero is born just- beatin' the SHIT out dbk ig along with his friends and while hes there and struggling but knowin he has to defeat this guy for the sake of everyone he ends up getting his vision and he doesnt focus on the element too much (it does end up being geo) at first its more just HOW TF DO I USE THIS NOW.. but he ends up doin somethin real wacky and BOOM dbk gone 4 now and like after all that is over n we're back to chilling he and the others r like celebrating bc WOO mk got his vision AND we defeating a huge demon!! and mei is like huh i really thought u were gonna get pyro like me and tang is like pushes up glasses well acTUALLY-- and proceeds to explain why geo visions r given to people and all that and while mk does have a lot of passion which would make it make sense 4 him to have a pyro vision hes far more hardworking with his job already and now that hes monkey kid hes gonna b working even harder to protect people mk's been working hard all his life really, not just with his job and now defeating demons, hes been working hard to get a vision so he could be something greater, his bio parents he doesnt remember much about but they were always so unimpressed and demanding so he tried real hard to live up to their expectations and make them happy because he wants his friends and family 2 be happy,, and hes always tried hard to be something more than what he is as he got older and all the monkey king stories really inspired him a lot and thats why hes loved all this lore and stuff for so many years but like,, he could never be a hero like that,,, oh wait anywho mk is a geo polearm(?) user, dunno if ya could call the staff a polearm buuut thats what im goin' with hes also got monkey king's abilities along with the geo ones so ohu boy,, ill talk more abt that part when i get to wukong and mac ALSO I FEEL LIKE MK COULD ALSO BE PYRO AND I COULD CHANGE IT BUT,, I LIKE GEO TOO,,,, oops all pyro traffic light trio????

i dont got much for red son either buuut heres what i do got; red son kinda already has,, magic of sorts bc,, yknow partial demon (in this hes only like,, half technically. yknow how yanfei is like half adeptus-) but its amplified a bunch by the vision and WOO FIRE and theyre a pyro catalyst honestly debating on whether or not they wold have a book or whatever that other floaty thingy is called but like when i imagine either they kinda look similar to dodoco tales or blackcliff agate hmm,, red's two big passions are building and cooking- his tech could possibly rival that of fontaine's advancements if he wanted it to,, they actually take some inspiration from the works of fontaine as well as for the cooking, u already know, spice master. i want a cooking battle with them and xiangling- they'd laugh at the hottest option on the menu at wanmin red son got their vision pretty early in life- a bit older than he was in canon,, which was still a problemmm and ya can guess why,, demon power fire element amplification little tempermental fire demon boy go boom boom samadhi fire or somethin,, so yeah theyre not as powerful as they could be and the vision was actually taken from them until they were older and more mature i suppose red doesnt remember this- they think they got their vision at an older age since it kinda just appeared by him one morning

tang is dendro but like he doesnt fight so he hasnt found a weapon yet- i think itd be real funny if he was a CLAYMORE or maybe a sword bc of that one episode yknow the one,, but honestly catalyst could work too and hed def have a book one if so dont got a backstory or vision story for him either :( nor do i have much for pigsy but pyro,, somethin. y'all can add to pigsy's stuff if ya want i also feel bad for not havin anything for him but passion = cooking woo

So I've been thinking of a way to make Childe useful again. It has come to my attention that a majority of the Genshin Community think it's pointless to use Childe since he needs a specific bow to actually be a real threat(and the weapon banner is a scam RIP). There are also just many better Hydro characters and many better Bow characters.

As a result, I have no doubt they're going to force ANOTHER Childe banner at some point in the near future, and unfortunately, I really don't think he'll do well unless they make something new that makes people want to get him if they don't have him already.

So had 2 ideas. 1 will affect other Fatui Harbinger characters we'll potentially get to wish for in the future, the other is could potentially help characters who are capable of using more than one weapon class.

1.) It would be cool if we could actually have dual builds for characters who have both Visions and Delusions. Since those with Visions can use Delusions without dying or aging rapidly, it'd make to sense to have that as a gaming option. Child has a Hydro Vision and an Electro Delusion and he can use both simultaneously in his Boss Battle.

Maybe it'd be extra work to build Electro Childe, but it would change things up. He would have a whole new skillset because of his Delusion and he might not even use a bow with his Delusion. In his Boss Battle he uses a massive polearm the whole time after all.

It'd be cool if Scaramouche is a Anemo Vision Catalyst user but an Electro Delusion Sword user and could swap back and forth between states of battle. It'd make the Harbingers more interesting overall if we could make builds for separate weapons and elements when we get them.

When he came out he was cool, but Childe is boring people now. The novelty of his using dual water swords that turn into a spear for a few seconds, and then swapping back to a bow, has worn off. Hell, Ei can swap between weapon classes when she uses her Burst. And now we have Heizou who literally does hand to hand combat with his weapon floating uselessly at his side.

The devs are shaking up their approach to weapons, so they could try to shake it up a bit more. Soon.

2.) For a second option, Child literally, 'mastered all weapon types' apparently and only uses a bow since he's 'least adept' with it. Make it so he can use all other weapon classes. Even if he stays Hydro, making new animations for attacks, skills, and bursts would be cool. It would be a lot of work for one character but it'd ben nice to see him using other stuff at least.

Now, lore suggests that Venti and Zhongli are both capable of using Catalysts. I would assume, they could probably use all weapon classes but just prefer the usual ones. However, it would be totally cool to get new Attack, Skill, and Burst animations along with new Talents.

honest to god i think the warden wouldve been significantly improved if they had an actual purpose instead of just being There

take the ender dragon for example - she isnt very hard to fight, she only has one drop; an egg that serves solely as a decorative trophy, and a bunch of exp. but when you beat her, you get access to the end islands, and by extension the elytra

and then theres the wither, an optional miniboss thats a bit harder to fight than the ender dragon, but drops the main crafting ingredient for beacons, aka blocks you can use to create an area of effect buff

now these two items arent exactly necessities. for elytra, you can just walk [and, impo, i prefer this over flying over everything because you at least have the chance of finding something cool that you otherwise mightve missed]. and for beacons, lets be real, the only real use these things have is quarries and Maybe a flex to show just how many you can get. for… some reason. but theyre still worth killing their respective bosses to get

the warden, on the other hand, does nothing. all it drops is a single sculk catalyst that, in the newest update, has since been Significantly nerfed from dropping [i believe] 40 exp to 5. 5

really the only point of the warden now is, as its been put, an ambience mob. it spawns in, acts intimidating, but all you really have to do is bring in a bit of wool or an elytra to dip as soon as it spawns

and you would think that mojang “we removed fireflies because they had no purpose” studios would realize this and do something about it, but as of now, nope. and you would think for how long theyve been babying and hyping up the deep dark + warden they would try to actually make it worth going down there, but the only things one would even consider going down there to get is a compass thats virtually worthless for what it is, and a disc.

not even a music disc that you can play in the background- no, its a story disc, which [no hate to the person who made it] is literally just a sound design test. its the equivalent to playing 11 for fun. not to mention you dont even get the full disc, you have to find fragments to craft it

for how much effort they put into making the warden unkillable, i really dont think they put any of those skill points into giving players a reason to even be near it so it can show off all of its ‘unkillable’ glory. also i find it hilariously embarrassing that like 2 seconds after full release people already found a way to farm it. also it can literally be killed with a fishing rod. so

radio, i hear you asking, can you stop monologuing and get to the point. and to that i say- fine jesus :/

my point is, give the warden an actual purpose jesus christ. un-nerf the catalyst. make it drop something that gives you a buff when under sea level like a backwards conduit. give it a boss fight arena and something it unlocks after you kill it like the ender dragon. do something with the frame like, i dont know, make it a portal like everyone was expecting

yknow, just a concept, but my brother thought since the aether developer was on the team, it would be cool to add a dimension similar to it, kinda like a whole “you must go down to reach the top” or whatever he said idk. or maybe i can plagiarize from matthew patthew and say it leads to a dimension the old deep dark inhabitants fled to before the sculk took over or something

also to add on to the bossfight arena ive heard from someone [cant remember their user sorry] that the deep dark isnt a sectioned biome. its pretty much everywhere at the bottom of the world. and ive never actually played vanilla 1.18+ so i can only imagine how it feels to try to go diamond mining only to get deleted by some random warden that you spawned by complete accident

I come bringing ideas and headcanons.

OK, so we all already know what The Three oldest archons abilities. So I’ve come up with my own ideas we could use for the younger archons! (And yes I’m grouping Ei, Venti and Zhongli as the older siblings since Ei Is 1000 years old Venti is 2,500 and Zhongli is 5,000-6,000 and the other archons are still in the hundreds I think)

Definitely a Bow User. And Is a Healer. But the their Ult can cause damage

I have a theory That during the Archon War The dendro Archin created the Regisvines to fight for them, and only two were left. I also Headcanon The dendro archon can bring plants to life and overwrite what each plant can do. (Maybe even bring mushrooms to life 👀).

Maybe They can create a giant plant from the ground that spreads Healing energies and since this is a god where talking about can Cure Curses (Ahem Vils Curses Ahem) and major Diseases and what not.

For Their Ult maybe a giant plant monster (kinda like how Gouba and Oz exists ) that will attack for them (could make for fun combos with different elements like if the dendro archon was wet Hydro Plant monster)

For Hydro archon!reader

Polearm or sword (theirs way too many Hydro Catalyst) Healer and Dps, Why? Cause I say so.

You’ve mentioned how Hydro archon summons a giant wave? I’ll do you one better and their E skill summons a giant sea creature of your choosing to soak the fighters (A cool visual is their polearm turning into a big dream catcher then going swoosh and Baam Maybe like A giant Water Koi fish finna drown your ass *ahem ace ahem*)

Now mihoyo likes to reference Their character form honkai impact into genshin impact (and since they took a characters look from Honkai and another characters abilities with the whole Dual ego thing for Raiden shogun and Ei) I’m gonna base this Ultimate Skill From a character from Honkai (for research search up Herrsercher of Sentience)

Since the Hydro archons whole thing is about Justice. Now here me out here. WATER WHIP. Just a giant whip of water that can go on for miles (maybe it’s salty maybe it’s like fresh water depends on our readers mood lolol). Like, It’s whip of water strong enough to cut diamond or whatever it would be very cool (Kalim would wanna see if he could do something like that with his UM Que jamil trying to stop him)

Maybe their hair turns into water too.

Pyro archon! Reader

Claymore. A Big strong war god needs a big strong weapon. Dps and Defense.

Now It’s not just one claymore, It’s DUAL-CLAYMORE, why? Cause it’s a war god that’s why!

I like to think the shield is like Xinyans and XiangLings combined and it’s constantly sending off tiny Fire Discs. Or just symbols shooting fire like what the Pyro Abyss mages can do

For Ultimate I like to think it’s like Childes Daggers but Bigger and on fire just a huge sword made of fire.

Cryo archon! Reader

I can’t really come up with much for Cryo archon. But maybe a Catalyst that can summon a giant blizzard that drops down giant ice swords (kinda like Ganyus)

Definitely a sub DPS.

Maybe a healer too since The Tsaritsa is The archon of love?

What do you think about these abilities? Since you mentioned that the students and staff would assume their just strong mages I tried to be very creative with these abilities.

Also how I think the lore could go is maybe somewhere after leonas overblot and before azuls, Crowly has found a way to send Yuu home reluctantly. Yuu, grim and the aduece duo, and maybe some of heartslaybul or savana claw whoever you want come with them to the office to send them home. But Yuu is contemplating whether or not they WANT to go home now. But something goes wrong, maybe grim messes up the spell for the portal to work becuase (although he doesn’t want to admit it ) doesn’t want Yuu leaving, and their greeted with a surprise guest. Now this gives Yuu time to decide if they genuinely wanna go home and when teh archon finally has the materials they need to create a portal Yuu will tell them to leave the portal open (maybe put it into a tiny pocket mirror like the how we have the teapot) because they wanna stay for a little while or just until grim graduates (Que a happy fire cat ) and the archon whose grown attached to some people here was like ok “let our friends visit whenever they want, only if their headmaster allows it”

Now onto the headcanons

Anemo Archon! Reader and Mondstadt! Yuu

Everyone expected a lot of things not a person with Green eyes and (H/C) hair with green highlights. And an odd thing about them was the glowing stone on their person, Yuu didn’t have that?

Everyone’s freaking out because they’ve accidentaly taken another person from Yuus world.

And since Venti Is a well known famous bard In teyvat let’s say or Dear (y/N) is also a known bard and is not at all freaking out about what’s going on in fact let’s say our dear reader recognizes Yuu! And so now (Y/N) is now a new student (and a new headache for Crowley) in the ramshackle dorm! Yup! Just an ordinary human bard, Ehe~.

I’ll leave the rest of this up to you, Where Yuu has to explain what the world of teyvat is like (and why Yuu doesn’t have a phone (and a vision) because Twisted wonderland is far more advance in Technology and teyvat has JUST invented the Camera)

Also I head canon that people with Visions can summon their weapons and object with their visions, ok? Ok. To make things make more sense when reader pulls out a lyre from floating glitter.

Anyways, for skills of the archons-

Dendro Archon

I think they'd use a sword or a catalyst tbh, if the skills you listed, it makes a little more sense to have them be more of a catalyst

For their elemental skill, I think they'd summon/throw something similar to Klee's and Aloy's elemental skill except they heal if someone in your party is nearby, their healing could scale by their EM or ER.

For their burst, I like your head canon for the Dendro Archon, so I might go off from that and your idea for their burst, just more tweaking. The dendro archon would be able to summon a large plant that heals AND deals Dendro damage by sapping mobs hp. The amount of life sapping it does and the healing would scale off their original HP (artifacts that give hp won't be of use)

Hydro Archon

I agree with hydro polearm or sword. Too many catalysts

Mmm... To be honest, I think you should have the burst be her skill... The whip idea is intriguing, but I think it would work more for a skill which can allow them to use it several times before waiting for the CD to go down. I think the whip skill would work better with Crit as well.

AND AS FOR THE MENTIONS OF WAVE AND A SEA CREATURE, I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER BUT FOR THEIR BURST!!!! They summon a large tsunami which takes form of a monster/animal and lunges at the mobs (similar to Zhongli tossing down a dumbbell), however the amount of damage the burst can do is depending on if they are afflicted by the wet status the mobs are afflicted by. If already afflicted with hydro, the mobs would receive double damage while those with other elements afflicted on them would receive the element combination DMG and normal DMG while those that aren't affected by an element, they would receive normal damage. The amount of damage the burst does is scaled by EM.

Pyro Archon

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA CLAYMORE

Hmmm.... I think the skill would be they set an AoE with magma, mobs will receive damage from it and will continue to receive damage if they stay on it, but those who are in party, they will receive an ATK boost that scales from HP.

For the burst, I think I'll use a character from Honkai Impact with their special move which is Murata Himeko in Vermilion Knight: Eclipse battlesuit. Pyro Archon uses their claymore and another claymore but made of pyro and is far more larger and their cut scene has the Archon raise the pyro claymore above their head and slam it down to send pyro erupting from the ground (similar to the pyro axe wielding hilichurls)

For burst, I like the idea of summoning a blizzard/swords, but it's similar to Ganyu's. SO I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER!!!! Cryo Archon will summon a blizzard which freezes mobs without having to use hydro, the freeze status lasts for a total of 15 seconds or higher if you got their c3

Hmmm... I like the idea, but imma tweak it a bit. The archon was in fact summoned through that portal because Grim decided to mess it up just for Yuu to stay a little longer, and so the Archon now resides in Twisted Wonderland as well in order to aide them until they can return back to their world. That way it makes more sense and makes it more fun.

ooo i hadn't thought about it before but i am thinking about it now!!

as, like, a playable genshin character, i don't really have any set idea of what her vision would be, but you are right in that she'd most likely be either a catalyst or bow user (though tbh i could also see the other weapons working, too). she'd probably have a support kit that buffs your characters/debuffs enemies and sets up elemental reactions, but with decently high scaling on her burst (and/or, e.g. if she was a catalyst, her charged attacks) so she could be reasonably be built dps as well

she'd be from liyue harbour, and idk where the idea came from but i think it'd be cool if she was a 'seelie whisperer' - as in, she studies seelies and spends a lot of time travelling out in the wilderness to track them down and document their behaviours (the travelling also gives her something to do while her dad's constantly away). story-wise she's just an ordinary person who somehow got a vision while she was feeling lonely or something, but maybe asked help from other liyue characters to train and get stronger

so THEN she gets summoned to the devildom, and (if we run with your idea with the cryo catalyst) the first thing she does is freeze everyone in the student council to the floor. when lucifer attacks her in the underground tomb his hand gets encased in a ball of ice and he just falls over because it's so heavy, and then when lesson 16 comes around ik panics and straight up encases belphie in a glacier like aang in atla

she'd use her vision to help her get around her tiny size - if she was geo, she'd make herself constructs to act as makeshift stools, if she was dendro she'd make vines to pull things down from high places, etc. cryo ik would also make herself stools with blocks of ice, but she'd be constantly forgetting to get rid of them afterwards, so more often than not beel walks into the kitchen and immediately slips because the ice block ik was using to reach the cupboards has melted all over the floor

mammon and levi would probably be swapped as ik's first and second friends in this situation - because levi's just too excited by the concept that she's like a playable hero from an rpg to NOT attempt to talk to her, and ik's still got the same personality so she's friendly enough to bond with him! she IS from teyvat, though, so she probably freaks out over all the tech in levi's room a fair bit

Hi! Big fan of your work. Just saw your team Kei Genshin post and it was so cool imo. Now I really wanna know what would your extended team Minato (plus the Gekkos) kits be like. Have you thought of anything for them?

As for the rest of Team Minato...

Minato: Anemo catalyst-user. Almost certainly tags people for damage over time. May be a punch-wizard and teleports for defense.

Obito: Dendro polearm-user to change things up, since he does summon and stab people with Wood Release spears. Can make himself temporarily invincible. Will be Pyro if the devs never fix the mechanical trash fire that is the Dendro element.

Kakashi: Electro sword with ranged Skill and Burst, high speed playstyle and stuns enemies.

Rin: Hydro claymore-user with the ability to heal the entire team while Skill or Burst is up.

Gai: Pyro claymore-user because the man deserves to have a big thing to swing at people and he is very passionate. Also, probably gives himself monstrous attack (and speed) boosts.

Gekko family:

Hayate: Electro sword-user that does really well in taser-teams.

Miyako/Tomoe: Anemo sword-user specializing in catastrophic single-target Swirl damage.

Wataru: Pyro catalyst-user specializing in making landmines and chaining damage/elemental reactions.

DPS Barbara anon again and I like to add a few things on why you need 3 supports. The two pyro supports are needed to get pyro resonance. This would help boost Barbara’s and the team’s attack.

Any pyro characters are fine as LONG as the character can apply pyro quickly or when they’re off screen. BUT, it can be said that the best supports for her in the pyro category are Bennet and Xiangling. This is because of their burst effects. Bennet for his ATK bonus when using Fantastic journey and Xiangling for pyrotornado applying constant pyro for Barbara. Pyrotornado also have the added benefit of snapshoting the affects of Fantastic journey. So even when Fantastic journey fades/disappear Barbara would still have the ATK buff which is pretty cool.

For Anemo characters, you need someone who can provide constant anemo off-field. This is important since, the anemo element might help shred the enemies’ resistance to your character’s element(s).

The reason why Barbara needs 3 support is that Barbara does dmg on enemies BCS of element reactions, specifically Vaporize. As a result she needs someone who can apply pyro for big number dmg. So if you want big vaporize dmg increase your elemental mastery on her. She can do fine if she is JUST applying hydro but if you want that you need good crit rate and crit dmg. Barbara’s other main source of dmg is her charge ATK as her scaling for it is pretty decent (around 233% which is higher than Diluc’s normal charge ATK). That’s why wanders is a good set for her because it provides her a 35% bonus for charge ATK for Catalyst users. You tend to get big numbers if you use your charge ATK in tangent with doing elemental reactions. HOWEVER, doing the charge ATKs might leave you vulnerable to enemy attacks since they drain stamina so plan it carefully.

why? idk, i’m half sure it’s based off how calm and composed he is; i do kinda think jungwon is a picture of maturity and elegance (he literally has to take care of six children wdym)

it was kinda hard for me to choose a weapon because i kept going back-and-forth from sword to polearm, but my final pick for him would be polearm

yes this would mean that he is zhongli

a polearm would probably suit him because i see him as the kind to want some kind of control over his weapon (not saying he can’t control a sword). at the same time i feel like he’d want something lightweight which won’t bring him down

i think he’d work with the knights of favonius. working with the liyue qixing could also work for him, but considering the tension between the adepti and the qixing + the social climate of liyue makes me think that he’d want somewhere more calm

at the same time, i also see him making a lot of friends and having a bunch of connections from just about any corner of the land (more to acquaintances i suppose? heeseung doesn’t seem like the kind to let people in very quickly)

is probably very curious on elemental reactions and might be studious in a way; he would want to learn alchemy

likes stopping by mondstadt’s library when he needs to look up on something. probably keeps in contact with alchemists too

pyro vision, hands down. i was considering an electro vision for him at first but the amount of passion he has in doing the things he loves (primarily hip-hop) screams pyro to me

he would also have a claymore because let’s be real, he’d want something to get the job done quick; claymores are literally the weapon that causes the most damage

yeah he’d be diluc. or xinyan. whatever your pick is

bonks monsters for fun, fight me on this

association... i think he’d be a part of the adventurer’s guild. he strikes me as the kind of person who’d want some kind of reward for something he does for fun (in this case, mora. and a bunch of other items you can get from katheryne once you complete your daily commissions)

this is probably how he meets all his friends. if he wasn’t a part of any association, i don’t think he’d have many (not saying that he’s unable to make friends, he’d choose not to unless necessary)

strives to be a well-known adventurer, probably takes up more commissions than the average one

likes spending time in places with good ambience, food, and booze. probably is a regular at angel’s share and liyue’s street food stalls on days he comes to town

i think he’d have an electro vision. it’s something about the way he fiercely cares for other people that makes me think that this suits him best

okay hear me out but i think he’d be amazing with a bow and arrow. he seems to have the tenacity and upper body strength for it, and i don’t think he’d particularly want something that could do a quick kill, like a sword or claymore per se

uhh... yeah he’d be fischl, i suppose. idk this realization was a bit weird to me but it doesn’t seem so far off from happening

i think he’d have a catalyst (yes!! we need male catalyst characters!!); i can see him absolutely fascinated by the way catalysts work like... “there’s no solid object engineering the attacks so... what is that? it seems so cool!”

Anyway, for weapons i preferred catalysts since i think they're cool and unique to use. As for the genshin characters, i kinnie sucrose and i totally relate to her so much 😫😫

If i were to born in genshin, i would totally want to be in Mondstradt because it is the city of freedom and i can be free as a bird.... Even though i really prefer Inazuma due to its beautiful scenery and islands but i feel like i wouldn't fit with anyone there and will be labelled as outcast instead 😅😅

If you ask me, rather than worship the archons i would just treat them as a guide for humanity. I just find it weird to treat someone or people as higher being than you just because of their status and power over you.

My zodiac sign is virgo... I do like being alone (like having a me time) but i also so like having the company of others even though I'm shy and awkward to hang around. Although people do say i kinda make them feel comfortable with my presence and are kinda intimated at first when they don't really know me enough.

The umbreon tent at the Opal City Eevee And Evolutions Event is a good place to be, Go thinks, even though it’s early. The darkness means it’s refreshingly cool compared to outside, the ‘dark night’ coffees sold by the door are both delicious and immensely caffeinated, and the newly-evolved Instinct umbreons are sleeping (for once) in relative silence. It’s so early, in fact, that there’s only one other guest in this row. They’re pretty short, with red hair, lots of piercings and wait a minute-

“Uh, Amelie?”

Her eye flicks briefly towards him.

“Hello, Go.”

Oh. Great. He turns to look at what she’s eyeing.

It’s a good specimen from a show perspective, Go can tell. The eyes are bright and cheri-red, the coat ink-black and glossy, and the thick gold bands from evolving under a full harvest moon have a soft but powerful glow. It’s a pretty attractive pokemon for a team who deal in stolen goods, so Go braces for a knee to the stomach and hopes someone will call for security before he hits the ground.

When a minute has passed with no attack he dares to crack an eye open to look at her.

“Picking good ones to steal later? They’re all tagged and chipped you know-”

“No.”

“Planning to steal the prize money?”

“Not really.”

“Then why are you here at an eevee convention?”

She fixes him with a look and- oh.

He’s suddenly very glad Spark stayed behind. Arceus only knows the carnage that would result from him, her boss and hundreds of eevee all in the same place.

There’s no members of the public admitted right now, but there’s still a handful of breeders primping their umbreons before the gates open, and although he’s got over a foot of height on her Go doesn’t think for a minute that’ll stop him from being handed his ass if things get dicey. (Amelie did focus solely on his uninjured side when they met after the last big fight though, so that was… thoughtful? Less brutal than the majority of Rocket?)

The point is, it’s early, there’s no high-level trainers anywhere nearby and a member of Team Rocket is next to him at an Eevee Exhibition. So what should he do?

“Some of the special entrants in the main exhibition are from Instinct Hatcheries, like that flying-type eeveelution, the dual-type vaporeon and, uh… Dumpling the shiny kit? Do you know about him?”

She nods and - wait, of course she’ll know about Dumpling, given who her boss is. Go’s certain that despite the frequent recorded visits from Mystic One on file at the kit’s hatchery, Leader Blanche themself has never actually set foot in the place.

He continues, regardless. “Because of the ties Instinct have with a lot of the organizers, we- as in, high-ranking Instinct Trainers – got special passes for the event.”

Go’s not entirely sure why he got one, really. Okay, yes, his name is down on paper as Instinct Two, but he’ll be the first to admit that compared to any of Spark’s Elite Four he’s way behind. Why is he here again?

He’s always been good at rolling with the punches, though, literal or otherwise. He’s adaptable.

(In this job, with his boss, you need to be. Otherwise you just might not survive.)

The theory goes:

A standard, purebred eevee with no external influences will evolve in accordance with its environment - one who lives wild by a lake and hunts for food in the water will tend towards vaporeon, habitats of warm homes as cherished pets create sylveon, those raised on spiritual sites or alongside psychics evolve into espeon (and everyone knows not to leave kits near the psychic Gym Leader of Saffron City unless, for whatever reason, you want a rambunctious feline unable to manage its considerable newfound strength back right after).

Even amongst the same species there are further physiological variations. The rare wild leafeon studied in arctic tundra environments have stubby near-black leaves with a waxy finish, slow metabolisms, and a secondary ice-typing. Amongst professional breeders and co-ordinators different leafeon with unusual foliage, such as delicate ornamental leaves or chubby cacti greenery, are a hit. The reigning Kalos Queen making an appearance even has an exquisite rose leafeon as her signature companion - far too finicky for the average trainer, too fragile for regular battling. And yet, much like a wild eevee and its evolution, it’s perfectly adapted for its current environment. 

(Go figure, Go thinks as he takes a high-speed rose to the face at the front of the crowd, Amelie looking suspiciously like she’s trying to hide a smile).

But the environment is only half the puzzle. If exposed to a standard water stone, a wild eevee will undergo rapid evolution into what most would consider a ‘classic’ vaporeon – neck frill, aqua blue colouring, finned tail - even if its habitat is a frozen plain or an electrified cave.

So, as Annie had explained to him over one of the few dinners Spark or Zapdos (is there a difference, really?) hadn’t been able to crash and burn, the leading theory is that the eevee ignores its previous adaptations and rapidly adjusts in order to cope with a sudden influx of energy the stone contains - similar to how other species can go years with no sign of pending evolution but then once exposed to the right conditions, boom, a distressed golem is now stuck in your bathroom. 

“Look,” she’d said, dragging out a tablet from her purse, “The main idea is the stone itself is a strong energy source – the eevee suddenly adapts to this exposure and the energy drives the evolution to completion in seconds, but because most of these stones are similar in chemical composition the final vaporeons are also pretty identical.”

Huh, he’d thought, so that’d been why Mystic had requested a large number of eevee kits a few months before, and why so many of their high-rank trainers had similar vaporeons on their teams now. He’d assumed it was just for the team aesthetic, really, but they must have been adopted out once the research programme had wrapped up.

Annie had continued, nearly knocking over her glass as she’d gestured at the screen.

“But then we’ve got to consider that items such as Razor Fangs and Claws are similar energy sources, or possibly catalysts. We now know certain stones and trading systems count as an energy source because of the thermodynamic profiles, but how does that link to items such as Reaper Cloths? It had been interesting when he’d read over it later, after walking her home – or at least, back to Mystic HQ. Aside from cases such as nidorina and nidoqueen, Instinct typically ignore the evolution status of the pokemon used for breeding to focus mostly on IVs and moves, so browsing Annie’s notes had helped show a whole new side of the story, and they’re a lot easier for a novice to read than Leader Blanche’s, that’s for sure.

There was something similar to this topic in one of his college classes actually - a certain level of energy is required to allow a reaction to occur, catalysts open up different reaction pathways with lower energy requirements, if energy isn’t available from an external source then internal energy will be used instead, and so on. Currently known sources, according to Mystic research, include electromagnetic waves during trading, certain geological features, and – if the ongoing research on eevees is any indication - evolutionary stones as well. So now Annie’s research involves looking at possible wavelengths emitted, triggering the use certain items and further analysis of evolutionary stones. (He winces on Professor Willow’s behalf. Those items aren’t cheap, after all, and Go may no longer a completely-broke student but he won’t be casually dropping ₽10,000 on a stone that will never be anything but powder for a lab experiment.)

Annie always looks so animated when she talks about her research with Mystic One. Guess it helps to have a Team Leader who you really care for.

(Then again Spark, at least, doesn’t need constant reminders to eat or sleep.)

Speaking of which…

“Uh… Leader Blanche and Annie are supposed to be here today. Could you and your boss maybe not blow up the exhibition while we’re all here? Or start a fight? Or steal anything”

Amelie doesn’t even look up from the stall she’s examining. Out of all the locations to spend the morning at, personally Go wouldn’t have picked the shopping village – it’s not even ten in the morning now and it’s already a struggle to get through the crowds. Amelie, however, is both determined and terrifying - so here they are. 

“Mystic One is currently at their headquarters having overslept. Mystic Two is with them.”

Well that’s not at all creepy.

“How do you know that?” He demands.

“Carl told me.”

“Carl, as in-”

That stuck-up dick? is what Go wants to say, but his mouth finishes, “-Valor Two?”

“Yes. We’re acquainted.”

Typical. All said stuck-up dick apparently needs to drop the snobbish attitude, even for someone like Team Rocket, is a terrifying attitude and an above-average bra size. 

(That’s probably unfair, he reflects. There’s one key reason why the two of them will never get along and it’s five-foot-ten, host to a lightning titan and drinks Go’s milk straight from the carton.)

“It’s in everyone’s best interest for there to be no fighting today, don’t you agree? Three of each, please.” Amelie directs the last part at the hovering sales assistant, guarding the stock with the tenacity of a stoutland and the attitude of a houndoom.

Honestly, Go thinks, simultaneously watching the assistant bag all the items and trying to read the labels upside-down at the same time as they’re packed, Carl and Amelie knowing each other well isn’t a bad thing. Especially given the animosity between her boss and Leader Candela - and their combined talents at causing significant property damage.

“Limited Edition Eevee Family… are these socks?”

“Mmm-hmm.”

 “You came all the way to a massive eevee exhibition… to buy yourself socks?”

He looks back at the packaging, the front home to a model in frills sporting sylveon thigh-highs and not much else.

Don’t think about her wearing them, don’t think about her wearing them-

Too late. It’s an amazing image though.

“They’re not for me. I’m here to get them for someone who couldn’t make it.” Amelie says, like she can read minds. Or maybe it was pretty obvious what he was (completely involuntarily!) thinking of.

Hang on, given that there’s one person he knows of who can make Amelie get up at the crack of dawn and wears eevee paraphernalia obsessively…

“So… your boss isn’t here today?”

There’s an unnaturally long pause.

“No,” Amelie finally says. It’s hard to tell with someone as serious as her but for a moment, Go thinks, it looks like she wants to say something more. “No, they’re not.”

“So you did come all this way just for socks?”

She shrugs.

“Lief is also thinking about breeding an eevee-cross meowth at some point, so he’s looking at possible studs as well.”

“Lief?”

“You’ve met him. Green hair, crossbred persians, kicked you in the face last month at the pier?”

Oh yeah, he remembers now. He really needs to try and run into people who are less violent, he thinks.

Amelie takes her receipt and turns to face him. “I’ll see you around, Go.”

“Uh, is it bad if I hope that’s not any time soon?”

He gets a whole smile for that.

Amy’s eyelids felt heavy as she forced them open, head pounding and body overall sore. She groaned and tried to lift her head off the floor, only causing her headache to scream at her to stop. Her head thumped back on the floor, causing a jolt of pain to shoot through to her eyes, she squinted and hissed in discomfort.

“Don’t force yourself to get up.” She suddenly heard a familiar voice speak quietly, as if catering to her pounding head.

There was some rustling and suddenly her head was lifted gently just a few centimeters by a cold hand, followed by a bit more rustling. When her head was put back down, there was something softer than the cold, hard floor, it wasn’t any pillow, but it was a lot better than just the floor.

“The height wasn’t the big issue, but the speed definitely caused a bit of damage.” He explained softly, voice trailing away as his shoes clanked quietly on the ground.

Clanked... they were made out of some sort of metal. Not being able to bring herself to speak, she merely grunted in response and took the silence as a chance to take in what she could about her surroundings with her eyes remaining closed. Overall, it was slightly cold, the floor felt as if it was some sort of cement covered in a layer of dirt and grime. There was a cool breeze that entered where ever she was. At first she assumed it was a window, but there was too much of a breeze for it to just be a window or even a door frame. When she inhaled, she mostly smelled moss and dusty air. She hardly heard anything, the clanking and talking had stopped, now there was just a slight whistling of wind and an occasional bird. No crowd... definitely not the outer ring then. Honestly, the silence was very new to her. She breathed deeply as the initial shock of the headache continued to fade, now it just sat clustered behind her eyes, pounding still, but somewhat manageable. Her body still ached, but it was becoming tolerable as well. She tried opening her eyes again, the bright light of day caused her to squint slightly, but instead of just closing them again, she let her eyes get adjusted and finally got a chance to look around the room.

It seemed to be a very old apartment building, the entire room was gutted, though she could see some marks scorched onto the wall from where kitchen appliances had once sat. Vines and moss grew all over, and the entire place seemed to be coated in dirt, grime, and dust. The doorway sat with no door, leading to the hall of the building and allowing the smallest of looks into the apartment across from this one. She turned her head and finally saw where the breeze was coming from.

There was a giant hole blown in the wall and part of the ceiling. They must be on the very top floor, as all that she could see out of the ceiling was sky, though looking out the side she saw the tops of some buildings that also looked worse for wear. In front of the hole stood ‘Myst’, arms crossed as he stared out on the city below. His cloak must be what’s under her head right now, she figured. He wore a utility vest of sorts, it seemed to be protective, but she could see straps on the back that would probably lead to holding small pouches on the front. The shoes still intrigued her, they had seemingly given him the ability to glide, she wanted to know how they worked. Eventually she dragged her gaze away, finding it rude to stare, and saw that he’d apparently grabbed her hammer and brought it as well. He must’ve somehow figured out how to collapse it, because it was back to being a bag.

Amy tried lifting her head once more, it was easier this time, and she propped herself up on her elbow, stopping to allow her body a moment to acclimate to the change as her muscles screamed stop. The cement floor probably wasn’t helping her heal any faster.  She pushed herself up again so that now she was sitting upright on her butt, she shuffled a bit so she could lean against the wall, breathing through clenched teeth as her body objected yet another hard surface, she picked the folded cloak up off the ground and shoved it between the lower end of her back and the wall to create a cushion.

“How do you feel?” He asked, still facing away.

“Like dying would’ve been preferable.” She responded with a huff as she rubbed her forehead.

“You’re lucky you didn’t hit a wall or anything, I’m already surprised you didn’t break a bone.” He commented.

“Hooray for me.” She breathed out monotonously.

A blanket of silence covered the room, leaving only the wind and the birds to fill it. She frowned, looking back to where he stood rather nonchalantly before finally sucking in a breath of air and taking the first step.

“So are you going to tell me why I was almost arrested by Mobius’ hero for assisting a criminal?” ‘Myst’ scoffed.

“He’s hardly a hero.” He muttered finally uncrossing his arms with a swish and holding them up as if to say ‘I don’t know.’ “I thought I’d done my research well enough.”

“Research?”

“Well I can’t just go to any old mechanic.” He spoke as if it was obvious. “Just like I told you, I needed someone that wouldn’t have the media on their doorstep, someone with no rep. But more than that, I needed someone who could figure this shit out.” He gestured once to his right arm and once to his left. “That was you. I didn’t know that you’d be closer to the Blue Blur than I thought until after you’d mentioned his little buddy, and that was on the night I took you to dinner.” ‘Myst’ shrugged.

“So I did just do this to myself, didn’t I? I ran my mouth too much.” She sighed in defeat.

“No.” He cut in aggressively “I brought you in to this. If I hadn’t come to you in the first place you’d be back if your shop painting that damn hammer you designed and maybe getting an actual check up from your friend instead of a ploy to arrest you.”

He seemed more angry at himself than her, she frowned. It didn’t feel good, to be the reason someone felt guilty. He turned around and kicked a stone, eyes narrow as he made his way over to her.

“And now, you’re stuck in it, so I might as well make you a proposition or else you’re gonna want to go launch yourself up into space on a stolen spaceship and just embrace the criminal lifestyle.”

He towered over her, she had to crane her neck to look up at him, and she gasped, hands instinctively flying up to cover her mouth as she looked at his face.

“...your eye.” She spoke in awe. In his left eye, the camera that served as a pupil narrowed its shutter slightly before widening again as he stepped back and looked away.

“I’m sixty percent cyborg.” He answered the question she hadn’t spoken yet.

“What... how?” Her hands lowered.

“Two arms, an eye, one lung, half of my heart, a part of my spine, ten ribs, plus all connecting pieces that run Thuluhide to my heart and electric signals from my brain.” His explanation was cold. “I’m as close to a machine as a living thing can get.”

“It’s... amazing. A true technological advancement.”

“It’s a little less amazing when the doc himself made it, but sure, we can go with that.” He practically spat, turning on his heel to step back to where he had stood by the hole before standing to face her again. “All you need to know right now, is that the Blue Blur is mad because I stole these-“ ‘Myst’ reached to his arm that she hadn’t fixed and pressed a button embedded in his wrist, the forearm popped open to reveal seven ports for microchips, at another press of a button, two microchips popped out. One green and one red. Gently, he removed them and held them up, there was something written on them, but they were too small for her to be able to see it. “-These are very powerful microchips that Robotnik’s grandfather made to be able to give power to the user. They’re microchips, so they can really go in anything, but they’re meant for cyborgs.”

“What do they do?” She asked.

He seemingly opted for a visual demonstration. Without either chip in, he extended his palm out the hole and shot a blast to hit a building. It didn’t do too much, there was a small sound of a crack and some dust that rose. Then, he pressed both chips back into place, shut the forearm compartment and held his hand up once more. This blast was more familiar, as his lights spent a slightly longer time growing brighter, along with growing significantly brighter than they had with the last blast. He aimed at a different building, and easily blasted a hole in the wall, dust exploding around the impact point as pieces of cement fell to the abandoned street below.

“And if you were wondering how you got here,” he turned back to her a spoke once more, but suddenly, he was gone in a flash of light. Amy jerked foreword, looking around. There was another flash of light and she whipped around to look at the doorway in which he now stood. “That would be how.”

“But... how does any of that work?” She questioned confusedly.

“Hell if I know.” He responded. “All I know if that there’s one in the Blue Blur’s leg, the other four are missing and Robotnik wants them.”

“So... you just want to get them all before the others?”

He was silent, gaze seeming to go from passionate will to distanced upset.

“That’s the base of it, sure.”

“What will you do when you get them?” She pressed. He quietly turned to look back out the hole.

“... It’s said that if one collects all seven they may be able to go through time.” He said quietly. “I don’t know that for certain, but I do know there’s I wrong I need to right that is worth the risk.”

Amy was silent, she looked down to her boots on her feet that were stretched out in front of her. She didn’t bother pressing any further anymore, she doubted she’d be getting anymore than she already had, which was certainly a lot more than she’d previously known.

“You’re wrapped up in this now, which means you have three choices.” He began as he turned back to her once more. “Go get yourself arrested, tell them everything you know about me, maybe even earn yourself a spot on the illustrious ‘team blue blur’, or you could just run away, live on your own outside the cities doing gods knows what. Or, you can work for me.”

“Work for you?”

“I know your jealous of your little buddy, he got the job and you didn’t, but I’d like to think I could give a better opportunity.”

“How so?”

“I’m not a prick that’s too far up on his high horse to see the ground.” He responded matter of factly.

Amy’s jaw dropped before she began to laugh. It felt good to finally relax her shoulders and just laugh, though it did make her headache pound a little harder. She looked up to see him staring at her expectantly.

“Well can I at least know who I’m working for?” He smiled slightly.

“You’re working for Shadow.”

594-595: "Formed! Luffy and Law's Pirate Alliance!" and "Capture M! the Pirate Alliance's Operation Launches!"

After seeing what the Strawhats are really like and realising what he’s got himself into, Law has longing visions of the apocalypse.

That look on Law’s face.

You all know the one I’m talking about.

The one that started as a sweatdrop and morphed into a full-blown look of: I deeply regret this but am in way too deep to back out now.

I watched that scene three times. Pure gold.

If You Keep Telling Everyone About Our Plan, Maybe

So I think I misjudged Trafalgar Law.

Maybe.

Still not one-hundred percent certain Law does not have another hidden agenda but... I am about seventy percent on board with the fact he has good intentions. At the moment. Like Robin said, pirate alliances are marked by betrayal, so this could change in future. (But I don’t want it to. I like Law as a good-ish guy.)

Like Nami, I was also was not expecting Luffy to accept so quickly. Maybe at the end of the arc, I thought. Have no idea why I even entertained that daft idea. This is Luffy we’re talking about. 

Law sold it as best he could without giving Oda’s entire plot away. “I’m not saying we can beat the Yonko right away. There is a chance, if we do it step by step. What do you say?”

Luffy’s daft but not an idiot. He asked Law to which Yonko he was referring. I’m guessing that was important because I honestly can’t see Luffy going against Shanks unless something really serious puts something between them. I was pretty damned interested in Law’s answer, so when Oda used that favourite trop of his: a sudden howling blizzard carried away Law’s voice, I laughed like a drain and cursed Oda and his teasing ways.

Fine. I get it. I won’t know at least until after this arc.

I also liked Luffy’s reasons for accepting Law’s offer of alliance. One, it sounded like fun. Two, he thought Tra-guy was a good guy. And three, even if he wasn’t, he had his Strawhats, who had spent the last two years training to become stronger (with the implication they could kick Law’s ass if the misbehaved).

This totally won over the Strawhats. They sort of melted into a puddle of giggling, flattered, enraged goo. Law was standing there staring like, “Wtf are these people?”

Still, as a gesture of goodwill, he unshambled all those who were able to be restored to their bodies. I am guessing is because of plot. Chopper and Franky are back to normal (Chopper had to leave with Law for a reconnaissance mission to Caesar’s lab). However, Nami and Sanji are now inhabiting each others’ bodies (because Sanji was not nearby to be restored to his own. I’m guessing you’ve got to be in Law’s Room).

Law was also not keen on the experiment kids. They were a pain. A liability. Forget about them. He’d heard from Caesar they’d been drugged. Chopper and Nami protested. They knew about the drug. They had already decided to take the kids back to their families. Law revealed the World Government have been trying to turn people into giants for hundreds of years. Why? In order to manufacture soldiers to increase their military might.

Apparently, Caesar wants to perfect the process first and outsmart Vegapunk and the World Government. (Okay, so Caesar is not still working for the WG after all. Is he that wealthy he can fund himself or is another faction bankrolling him? Maybe the Yonko Law is talking about defeating?)

Law was still unconvinced helping the kids was a good idea. “Are you willing to stay here alone?” he asked Nami.

Luffy, the Best Captain, jumped in. He would not leave anyone behind. If Nami and Chopper wanted to help the kids, he was fine with that. Sanji felt responsible for the Samurai Guy too. So Luffy would stay with them.

Usopp was so funny here. He leaned over Luffy’s shoulder and gave Law some Strawhat Context. “You think an alliance is a cooperative relationship just for some common goal, don’t you?” 

Um... yes, Law answered.

Ha. Well Luffy’s idea was different. It’s like being friends to him. And if Law was thinking of taking control, it would not be that easy. Once Luffy feels sure about something He Will Not Back Down. His selfishness, Usopp said, was as formidable as a Yonko. (”That must he hard,” Luffy said. xD)

At that point, I think Law reached his Strawhat Saturation Point. These people were like freaking aliens to him. But whatever. He’d agreed to an alliance. So he laid out his plan of action. While the rest of the Strawhats took care of the samurai, he would go research the drug behind Caesar’s back. He needed the Strawhats’ doctor. Chopper was strapped to his hat. xD

Then, when that was clearly undignified, his back.

Before Law left, he issued a warning. Caesar wanted the Strawhats and the G-5 Unit dead. Until Caesar gets what he wants, he will not stop attacking. If any info leaked about him being on Punk Hazard, Caesar would lose his perfect hiding place. This is high stakes stuff for Caesar. He will fight tooth-and-nail to win. Not only that, he is a Logia type Gas Gas Fruit user who owns weapons of mass destruction with a 300 million bounty. Law cautioned anyone who couldn’t use haki to stay away from him.

Useful intel to have, to be honest. Thanks, Law.

And it was thanks to the conversation that I now know Zoro and Sanji can also use Haki. Did I miss that or is that completely new thing?

After that, came the part of the episode that was my Absolute Favourite. I definitely did not see this coming. Before Law left with Chopper, Luffy said, “So we’re gonna kidnap the Master, right?”

“Not for any money,” Law said. “To raise havoc.”

Despite the Strawhats asking, he would not tell them what lay ahead before they even successfully kidnapped Caesar. Focus on the job at hand. He would spill all later. Then said, rather ominously, “When we get Caesar Clown, things will move whether you like it or not.”

Ooooooooooooooh....

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH.

Now this is a juicy nugget of plot. I also do not think this has ever happened in One Piece: defeating the arc villain in order to kidnap him, use him as a catalyst and trigger some nefarious skullduggery in the New World with a view to taken down a Yonko.

Caesar Clown must be really something. I guess if he is an inventor and purveyor of weapons of mass destruction, his services will be in demand within certain sections of the OPverse. 

This is cool. I was a bit miffed when I realised this arc would end quickly as it has been great so far. You guys were right. This is an intro arc that seems to lead on to bigger things involving Trafalgar Law’s crazy idea.

Also, I cannot wait for Chopper to lay eyes on Caesar Clown for the first time. Chopper is gonna have to exercise some wicked self-control to not smack him for mistreating those kids. Chopper also asked Law an interesting question: if Law was so strong and could reach Caesar Clown that easily (because Law had just Roomed himself round to the lab’s back door), why could he capture Caesar himself?

Law deflected, as he always does. “I cannot because of a problem I have. That’s why I need help from you guys.”

A problem? Must be a pretty big problem. 

And by the way, where are your crew, Law?

I am making myself suspicious again.

I need to just believe in Law, like Luffy does. Because the arc villain is making a move.

And That Move Is Called Smiley

Smiley.

Cannot get over that. xD

Caesar, you crack me up. 

He’s probably one of those deranged scientist types who give their hellbeast creations adorable names. Everyone flees from the tentacled abomination that is Mr Binky Sparkle-Pants. Everyone knows Candy Smoochy Schmoo will devour your soul.

This one is called Smiley. Smiley is a sentient, hill-sized conglomeration of incredibly toxic waste left over from the chemical explosion four years ago. Caesar gleefully explain to Monet that when he escaped custody and returned to Punk Hazard about three years back, he did not purify the island of the poison gas (*the* only good deed he had left to his name!) I mean, why would anyone do such a wasteful thing? All that poison lying around? That H2S gas he had invented that killed everything on the island in second? It’s Free Real Estate, right?

What he did was (probably) use his Gas Gas Fruit (thanks for the confirmation, Law!) to gather all the leftover poison gas and compress it into a monster, which he secured in a vault on the burning half of the island.

And he called it Smiley. xD

I guess Caesar has a sense of humour?

At any rate, this squamous behemoth was unleashed by the gang of unfortunate fodders who were trying to break into a vault at the end of the last episode. I knew they’d meet a sticky end. I just didn’t know how sticky. 

They tried to call their wonderful Master to report they were being killed by a poisonous monster. 

Sympathy? In MY Laboratory? Get the FUCK OUTTA HERE!

But Caesar was in the lab, heard the DDM, was all like, “ugggggh, so needy!” He told his main minion not to pick up the call. Why? The fodders would just be screaming “Help, a monster is killing us! Save us!” How annoying, right?

And you know what else was annoying? The amount of visitors. Ugh. So many. Caesar seems to work in euphemism a lot because all he said was, “You can stop gathering test subjects now. We have enough.”

I’m guessing that’s code for “these freeloading Strawhats and Marines have overstayed their welcome. Time to die!” He had a jolly good lol to himself while Monet studied quietly in a corner (she must have learned to block out the cackling by now or she would get zero work done).

Caesar’s knowledge of how to manipulate human nature was summed up when he said, “People tend to forget tragedies in no time!” That is harsh but true. He knew sooner or later what happened in Punk Hazard would be forgotten by the majority, leaving him free to practice his wicked experiments with impunity.

He really is a piece of work, eh?

As of now, Smiley is currently oozing towards Caesar’s lab. Zoro, Sanji and Brook saw it approach on the horizon. 

They found Kinemon, by the way! His torso fell into the lake and sank like a rock because he’s a Devil Fruit user. Because of that, the rest of his parts became super weak and he almost froze to death. If Zoro hadn’t found him, he’d be dead. At least he’s finally grateful for the Strawhats’ help. I wonder what he’ll say when he finds out they’re working with Law, the guy who slashed him up? I wonder what Zoro, Sanji and Brook will say when they find out Luffy’s working with Law?”

It won’t be a secret for long, they way Luffy’s going on. xD

NO, WE DON’T HAVE A SECRET PLAN AT ALL. WHY DO YOU ASK?

While Law was sneaking round the back door with Chopper and Smoker and his crew were battling to seize Caesar’s ship, Luffy had a Big Idea. Back at the camp, he whispered to Robin and Franky, the Strawhats who would go with him. (I’m assuming Nami and Usopp are guarding the kids and waiting for Zoro, Sanji Brook and Samurai to return.)

Smoker was having a tough time. Fighting in someone else’s body was difficult. Poor Tashigi kept turning to smoke at random and couldn’t turn back. (You know what? If this wasn’t such a serious situation, it’d be well fun to have a go in a Devil Fruit User’s body!)

Then Luffy arrived with a literal BANG! He cannoned into the snow right at the front door of Caesar’s Lab and roared, “SHOW YOURSELF, MASTER! WE WILL KICK YOUR ASS AND KIDNAP YOU!”

I swear the impact from Law’s facepalm was heard as far as Raftel.

Trip Advisor Review: Punk Hazard

“Arrived on island. Was welcomed warmly by hotel proprietor. Accommodation was clinically austere but the bar was well-stocked. Woke up one morning and I was a centaur. Not pleased. hello evening dear one perhaps our dearest underated cat man Natsume Sensei for the character ask one of my dearest favorite character in the bungou stray dogs serise i still need to read the (real life author novels) he is a underated character which i can understand why since there isn't a lot about him along such more to the character itself i could go on about my intrigue to this character however i will like to try to keep this short and neat :)

What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.

He is so cool!!! And is the best cat boss. His character is very subtly built, and we can see more of his impact on other characters than himself. That alone is enough to intrigue me and I just adore how well Asagiri can pull this off. I love the build up of the mysterious atmosphere around him. From Dazai’s narration, we learned that his power and identity is a well-kept secret even for the most high profile ability users, and he is supposed to have an extraordinary, all-knowing ability. In Mori’s and Fukuzawa’s flashback, we learned that he taught both of them, and was the one with the grand vision on how to best maintain the balance of power in the city. It wouldn’t be a stretch, I think, to say that Mori and Fukuzawa achieved their current strength and vision because of Natsume-sensei’s teaching. In Odasaku’s flashback, we could see that he is a wise and knowledgeable man with remarkable intelligence and empathy.

Is he/she important to the general plot?

He is definitely important even though he appears for like 0.01% of the total screen time. Natsume-sensei was the one who came up with the tripartite tactic to keep the peace of the city. He also gave Odasaku a reason to stop killing, an event that wasn’t entirely important to the plot but was the catalyst to Odasaku’s and Dazai’s friendship, and Odasaku’s final wish for Dazai was basically Natsume-sensei’s lesson for himself. Natsume-sensei’s conversation with Odasaku also echoes some of the most prevalent themes in BSD: people want to save themselves above all, and you can rewrite the ending to your story if you are willing to change.

Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?

I relate to how he wants to just sit back, silently judge people and let his boys do the job LOL. But really though, he is wayyy too cool. At this point in time we know so little about him though so I don’t think he has gripped me emotionally. But I do love the real Natsume-sensei’s writing and that does affect me on an emotional level. OH YES the thing that made me instantly respect BSD Natsume-sensei even though he wasn’t officially involved in the current plot yet was that line he said to Odasaku in the Dark Era: “People exist to save themselves.”

Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)?

I am so curious about his relationship with Fukuzawa and Mori haha. All we know at this point is that he taught them both at some point, and was the foundation of the tripartite tactic.

Ohh boy I feel like I could run to him for advice whenever I feel troubled, so yea, maybe I’d do that.

Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?

Not right now, but if we learn more about him he might just become one of my favs! Also the real Natsume-sensei is currently one of my favorite authors!

I would think so, since Natsume-sensei is also one of the most well-known Japanese authors!
