Hello and welcome to our new show Marvel has a problem with women! I'm your host, skye, and tonight we'll be discussing why I'm fUCKING SICK OF IT.

(Secret invasion spoilers ahead)

Maria Hill. Commander of SHIELD. The only person capable of truly predicting Nick Furys literal bullshit. The only person capable of successfully wrangling the Avengers. The only person qualified to take no shit from anyone. She is one of the most important main characters for marvels plot development and characterisation. AND THEY FUCKING FRIDGED HER IN THE FIRST EPISODE OF A SHOW THATS NOT EVEN FUCKING HERS?? It wasnt for character development because her death is only used as leverage against Fury. That if that video of 'him' killing Maria Hill gets out then everything he's worked for will fall apart. It wasn't for the plot because her death has absolutely no relevance to the rest of the show. It wasn't even to reveal something. She isn't even thanked for her service to SHIELD and the Marines. SHE DOESNT EVEN HAVE A FUNERAL. She's just dead. Lying in a casket along with so many other women marvel packed up for the fucking sake of it.

I won't accept that they've done that to her. She could've been so much more. She shouldve been.

And now Carol Danvers. Captain Marvel. The human equivalent of a nuke. The woman Thanos punched in the face and didn't even flinch. The Avenger for every other planet in the goddamn fucking universe. She is the only Captain Marvel. She is meant to be one of the most powerful people in the universe. Her powers are able to kill Gods. AND GI'AH JUST FUCKING GETS THEM?? AFTER ALL THE TRAUMA CAROL GOES THROUGH TO GET THEM, AND ITS NOT EVEN HER FUCKING CHOICE. Why do Marvel repeatedly diminish the power women have over and over and fucking over. Let us have these strong characters without someone else just one upping them just be-fucking-cause.

I'm sick of it. Im so fucking sick of it. These characters were mine. They were my lifeline. I can't even have my lifeline anymore

Maria Hill x Reader

Word Count: 400

Summary: Before Maria leaves for an unusual mission, your anxieties are getting to both of you, but you have each other, and that's all you need.

Content: angst/comfort

A/N: this may or may not take place before Secret Invasion... it's completely up to interpretation

The steady thump of Maria’s heartbeat and her gentle fingers raking through your hair are the only things keeping you calm as you lay on top of her.

You hold her tighter and she kisses your forehead. “You’re okay, my love. I’m here.”

“I love you so much,” you reply gratefully.

“Me more, angel.”

You nuzzle into the crook of her neck, your arms around her torso. “Why do you have to leave so soon?”

Maria’s intake of breath is heavy, and you know she doesn’t want to leave you.

“Fury needs me, baby, and he almost never asks for my help anymore these days, now that he knows you’re my priority. I know I promised I’d be all yours this week -“

“It’s okay. I get it,” you interrupt. “I just wish I could be selfish and keep you here. I don’t like knowing that you aren’t safe.”

“I know, darling,” she frowns, putting her strong arms around you and holding you closer to her.

Maria stays quiet for a while but you can sense her anxiety. Her heart is beating faster and her body is growing stiffer by the minute. She’s scared. You don’t know if she’s scared of what’s waiting for her when she leaves or if she’s scared of leaving you alone but she’s scared of something, and that makes you feel worse, though you don’t tell her that.

Instead, you gently kiss up her neck until you hear her giggle. You lift yourself up a little so you can see her face, straddling her hips in a way. “You okay, Mar?”

Her smile doesn’t reach her eyes, and you know she’s about to lie to you, “Always.”

Maria leans forward and kisses you slowly. You relish in the feeling of her lips on yours, her warm hands on your hips. And then you pull away. “Bullshit.”

“I’ll be fine,” she rolls her eyes.

You raise your eyebrow, “Maria.”

“I’m just nervous. Fury hasn’t contacted me in a while. This seems big. I don’t want anything to go wrong.”

You smile softly, feeling pride bloom in your chest, “Well, I have the utmost faith in my fiancé. You are so good at your job. Everything will be okay, beautiful.”

Finally, a real smile grows on her face. It’s small, but it’s there. “Thank you.”

“Anytime,” you kiss her cheek before pushing her to lay back, settling yourself back into her arms.

maria hill is really awesome as a character, shes so cool and chill and badass and doesnt take shit from anyone. and shes not perfect, she makes mistakes, but shes also ready to immediatley rectify those if she can. and shes second in command to fury himself, if things had gone differently its probably her who wouldve been tasked with rebuilding shield as director. its such a shame we dont get to see more of her in the mcu.

Ani and the Corries Moments.

Little Anakin's first meeting with Commander Fox, aka, when things get really chaotic.

This moment has been living rent free in my head pretty much since I thought up this idea.

It's probably only days after the Senate agrees to put in another order for troops, Fox is Stressed, Tired and done. And has a run in with a really obnoxious senator who has some less than nice things to say, including a few comments about how easily replaceable the guard is, and how they're republic property and how they can always buy more of them if the current ones aren't good enough.

Eventually the Senator Leaves, but then just when he thinks he's done, he's confronted by a few other Corries, who saw the whole thing.

And the Tiny Jedi who's wiggled his way into the hearts of several of his brothers.

Said Tiny Jedi apparently heard the entire conversation and apparently has decided that he needs more information, and upon hearing confirmation that, yes they are Republic property. Promptly decides to go in to denial and starts going on about how that's not possible because this is the Republic, and they're literally on Coruscant and that's not possible.

Fox, who doesn't want to deal with tiny Jedi in denial about a fact that's common knowledge turns and snaps. "Yeah, Welcome to Coruscant Kid." Before Truging off to deal with whatever else he's got to deal with today, because there's always something.

Several hours later, he discovers that there's a baby Jedi sleeping in there Barracks.

Because apparently the Kid ran off to Senator Amidala the moment he'd gotten the chance and swarmed her with questions, Starting with a Confirmation about there recent new Purchase, and Ending with a Demand to know at what point in the last Ten years they had Legalized Slavery in the Republic.

The Kid had then proceeded to have a Breakdown because the Republic apparently had a slave army, especially one led by the Jedi was apparently some sort of intimate betrayal and the poor kid was having feelings about it.

He hadn't wanted to go back to the temple, and none of the Corries involved wanted to try and force it Because they were in fact not unfeeling assholes, and also because apparently the kid could stay because he had been claimed as a Vod'ika by the three Clones who'd allowed this situation.

I have made the executive decision that Elizabeth is not Maria Hills biological mother. Not by a long shot. Maria Hill didn't have a mother. She had a shitty, abusive father that mourned the loss of a woman that wasn't even there to watch her own daughter grow up. She had a grandmother that raised maria as if she was the daughter she was missing. The daughter buried 6ft underground.

Maria met Elizabeth later.

Maybe it was when she was fresh out of the marines. A fresh faced, too-stubborn agent with next to no visible fear and a bone to pick with the establishment that had no one. No parents, no siblings, no grandmother. So Elizabeth, maybe an older SHIELD agent, took maria in. As her student, her trainee, her daughter. The two lonesome people met for holidays and birthdays, even well after Elizabeth had retired.

Elizabeth was there for every panic attack, every flashback, every meltdown. She saw the good, the bad, and the ugly and never stopped being there for maria.

She wasn't Maria's biological mother. But she might as well have been.
