It is Done. I've finished embroidery on my blouse for the Laudna cosplay
Ever since I've seen the first episode of Campaign 3, and even before any announcement of cons, I was seized by an idea. I just had to do a Laudna cosplay, even though I've never done one before in my life. I was inspired by the wonderful official design (by @agarthanguide), bought a simple blouse, taught myself really quickly hand embroidery, and got to work. And I'm really happy about how it turned out !
(more photos and details under the cut)
I started in January 2022, with no pressure for a year, so I took it very slow. And then when the MCM London was announced, I finished almost half of the project in under 3 months ! Unfortunately, because I'm still new at this, I didn't exactly count the total time I spent on this, but it's more than 60 hours for sure, and probably around 140 hours in total (including initial drawings, trials on other materials, re-drawings on the final blouse, washing, etc.).
The little yellow square were my enemies for a time (some do not resemble squares... but I got the hang of it after a while). In general, I think the lines are not really straight, but when worn, no one will see !!
This project changed my life, in small ways (like everything you do in life). It was not only a part of my first cosplay ever, but especially the thing that made me do embroidery. I discovered a passion, and techniques, and resources (thanks Internet people everywhere !), and since then I've been working on other projects - not CR related, that I may show later if people are interested. Also it's been a constant companion of my intense watching of the later episodes of campaign 2 : picture me if you will with my needle and thread and my project watching the best team that no one in Exandria has ever heard of save an archfey, not-really-kill an archmage, and save the world while still being chucklefucks.
So yeah I'm excited to share it with the world, a little. London awaits !

( @neil-gaiman , @fuckyeahgoodomens sorry for the tag but you might like this? Hopefully 🙏?)
Me as Karlach at London MCM! I met Neil Newbon (Astarion), Samantha Béart (Karlach), and Frazer Blaxland (Dammon). They were all so lovely and really complimentary about my costume - which really helped with my lack of confidence about it :o Hopefully next time I cosplay I will actually get some proper pictures, as I was too self-conscious at MCM!
Here’s to the mechanisms! Our little crew of immortal space pirates, roving through the galaxy having fun where possible, violence where necessary, and if we’re very lucky, both at the same time!
We killed our lead singer!
Octokitten mayhem
Two of them !!!! :o
Mechs in the archives, what sins will they commit?
Alex Newall showed up??? He was so nice honestly it was a pleasure to meet him
The big reveal of my newly upgraded 2023 Phantom of the Opera Cosplay! With my upcoming 20th anniversary as Phantom on a Budget, I decided to not only continue my cosplay career, but also double down by improving both my makeup and costume. For the first time in my career, I applied the bald cap to myself for the Final Lair look, complete with "alopecia" wig.
Makeup supplies include Mel Products vinyl/plastic bald cap blendedwith acetone, slip latex prosthetics by Studio D FX, Telesis 8 silicone adhesive, Skin Illustrator flesh tone pallette, Kryolan rubber mask grease paint, Kryolan TV Paintstick (3W), Make Up For Ever contour, Ben Nye translucent powder, and Kryolan finishing spray.
The brand new, custom Phantom tailsuit was completed by AJ Machete and its design is closely inspired by the early Broadway production.

Time to share with you photos from our little photo session with my Christine’s wedding dress. ♥️ Are you ready? Because there will be a lot of them. 🥰
First time with my veil. 👰🏼♀️
A beautiful photo was taken by mine Phantom @themrurk ♥️
I have run a few tests and the core functionality seems to be working fine - so I can press the button and it'll take a picture with the camera embedded in the left eye socket, briefly illuminating an led that's in the right eye socket and playing a buzzer briefly.
The green led turns on when the program I wrote is running, and if it's connected to a network the orange led will also turn on(so I can tell whether it's accessible to get the pictures off of it)
So it should be all good for MCM London on Saturday at this rate, just need to check that the cranial casing for the left hand side won't affect the picture too much
Had to remove the environment sensor as it didn't like that it was being powered from a power bank - so no temperature alert when it gets too hot for me(It was going to light up the remed if the temperature got above 30°)
Also had to take off the programmable RGB array, as whoever wired that integrated circuit was clearly on a great many things when they designed it - Trying to just access specified lights was madness. The first led was accessed through (0,1) whilst the 2nd was (1,1) and the third (6,0). And having all of them on made it looks like the skull was about to self-destruct with how bright they are
