It pulled at the strands of Hazel’s hair and clutched at her mind, trying to convince her she was Betsy, a member of the neighborhood women's club and was very interested in making sure the town talent show went off without a hitch. Hazel was more concerned with the way she seemed to lose time every once in a while and wake up in a strange house, usually cooking or cleaning or tending to the garden.

After the events of Avengers Endgame, Hazel follows some unusual magic to the small town of Westview.

When a body had collapsed on the threshold, Hazel almost felt like throwing up. It was Percy, it had to be, but…Gods of Olympus, he looked horrible. His hair was longer than she remembered, matted and streaked with blood. His clothes were torn and coated with golden dust. His skin looked like somebody had sucked the life out of it.

Percy was at least happy that this wasn't a prophecy. Stealing back some demigod weapons from a mortal? Sure, Iron Man was a superhero and a genius, but after dealing with Gaea, that was nothing. They just had to steer clear of anyone who might recognize them, and they were positive that they could pull it off easier than most of their quests. And potentially land Leo a job, while they're at it.

But Percy should have known better. Nothing is ever that simple for a demigod.

fan canon, ongoing webcomic, TFW05. a spin on BW among other things, following Rodimus Prime’s crew of beastformers as they face down an assortment of bad guys and mysteries. LOVE this canon guys i LOVE it, very very good beast mode choices, very heartfelt and very funny, i also love seeing the art progression over the years. lovely webcomic here

Burn a hole in the old grip of the familiar

TFP, complete multichap, AO3, NSFW near the end. it’s focused on Ultra Magnus/reader but the first half of this fic is probably my favorite. the overwhelm and incredulity the reader character grapples with for awhile, i feel like it’s pretty realistic for someone who’s been shoved into a weird new world. DEFINITELY did Breakdown dirty though. has sequels that i haven’t read

G1, oneshot, AO3. lovely little take on a G1 Guiding Hand that makes me feel things

Dog of Law

IDW, complete multichap, AO3. the Lost Light crew don’t find Minimus in Tyrest’s cells, they find a small green turbofox. lovely character driven piece here and honestly i just really like when his canonical turbofox alt is used i think it’s a shame we never got it in the story proper

First Contact

IDW, incomplete, AO3. listen it’s only a little bit written but i am OBLIGATED to post isekai/modern girl in Middle Earth/falling into fiction type of stories and i really liked the setup for this one okay! i love isekai and this was the only one i could remember to track down

Grey Is The Night

Batman/vaguely IDW crossover, complete multichap, AO3. there’s a new police car in Gotham, and it’s up to no good. listen i don’t even do DC stuff but Batman meeting Prowl here is done MARVELOUSLY ohhh i love this very much, the plot is GOOD, and i bet folks who actually like DC will love it even more

IDW, oneshot, AO3. a hanahaki take on Brainstorm/Perceptor that i actually like, despite not usually enjoying hanahaki at all, with some nice Cybertronian biology too

How to Save the World in 8 Minutes and 3 Seconds

vaguely G1/continuity soup, oneshot, AO3. how does Prowl save a species, with blocked communications, no visuals, and a short time limit? why, he just keeps an eye on social media of course! a lil dark and fun and clever

In Media Bellum

TFP, incomplete, AO3. human reader is caught up with Team Prime in a delightful exploration of culture and introspection and found family. no shipping but masterful platonic relationship work! it feels... idk relaxed? caring? i love the tone of this writing

Juxtaposition

vaguely G1, complete multichap, FFN (also on AO3 but never finished crossposting). a human OC gets in a car accident and starts hearing voices in her head, unknowingly saving a Cybertronian’s life, even if it’s in a very atypical manner. love this OC, love the whole premise here and the exploration of an alien reality from a human POV. no shipping, if that’s not ur thing

Lost Light/Rodimus

IDW, oneshot, Tumblr. the ship comes to life and has something important to ask Rodimus. i love this concept it’s very good, very intriguing

My Totally Real Mary Sue Husband Who Lives Back On Cybertron

TFA, oneshot, AO3, Dratchet. “Ratchet offhandedly mentions he's conjunxed. Bumblebee refuses to believe him. Hijinks ensue.” funny and in character and sweet

Mythbusters Season Nine Interlude: The Autobot Special

G1/Mythbusters crossover, oneshot, AO3. busting some myths AND some Decepticons! it just keeps getting better and better the further you read. i laughed out loud so many times, and cheered at recognizing so many classic Mythbusters bits, and i will get on my hands and knees to beg for a Dirty Jobs sequel these shows were my CHILDHOOD

Property Of

Bayverse, incomplete, FFN. when Sam and Mikaela meet Bumblebee, it isn’t as an Autobot scout, but rather as a new owner of these recently discovered organic animals called “humans”. a very well done human pet fic that doesn’t veer into psychological torture or boundary crossing or anything (sorry if that’s your jam) and while it’s incomplete i still love what’s there, especially as the kids learn how to communicate their personhood to an ignorant Bee

Rules to Follow When Making First Contact

continuity soup/fan canon, ongoing series, AO3. listen i know many folks aren’t here for the human characters but i LOVE all the humans here they are each characterized so well and i love seeing how its been blended together across canons. this is a very clever, very engaging setup with a very grounded presence for alien robots that hits in ALL the right places for me. AUTOBOTS LEARNING ENGLISH YALL!!! YES!!! very good very good

TFP....... sort of, incomplete, AO3. what do you do when you end up with a Starscream toy brought to life? this is a hilarious premise with good characterization, a lovely human OC, a ridiculous situation handled very realistically, and generally good fun to read. reverse isekai is perhaps more of a favorite of mine than isekai!

TFP SG au, ongoing webcomic, own website and DA. REALLY REALLY COOL YALL. fantastic designs and inclusions and expanding on TFP lore and making very interesting SG dynamics and just. excellent.

TFP/TFA crossover, ongoing series of posts, Tumblr. i LOVE crossovers, i will kill and die for crossovers, and this is one of the few i’ve been able to find! there’s enough posts under that tag that i haven’t been able to read them all but what i did see is GOOD

The Echo Garden

IDW/TFP crossover, incomplete, AO3. Soundwave gets picked up by the Lost Light. okay i am a SUCKER for crossovers as previously stated and this one is Good. leans fully into being a crossover and expounding on the differences between universes. Soundwave needs to figure out what to do with himself! also features some delightful slowburn SoundRod and a lovely ensemble cast. Toaster is the best

The One Where The Decepticons Are The Good Guys

TFP SG au, incomplete, AO3. i’m not typically a fan of Shattered Glass stuff but this doesn’t feel terribly OOC or completely upended or alien to the original plot, i think this is done very well and i can’t wait for more

Transformers Recovery: Primal Launch

fan canon, complete multichap, AO3. it’s like the Lost Light but weirder, i don’t even know how to convey its awesomeness. VERY funny, VERY cool, Sky Lynx is there, Swerve is important, Riptide is such a good bot, Megatron exists, just all good things here. treat yourself and read this it’s such a delight

having a vague "why am i writing this horrible story?" crisis about the anglo-saxon au fic that has taken over my mind since *checks* about two days ago. i have approx 2000 words of it written so it is going fairly well in that sense but i have gone a bit niche with my fics recently and am starting to think "nobody wants to read this, people will be annoyed at you if you post this" a bit more often, even though they probably won't because it's a free cake and it's rude to complain about free cake.

#HOWEVER while hits are low the comments are about the same so that's actually my fics doing better really isn't it?#i keep stats hidden on ao3 usually but i occasionally put them back on and look at my stats page #part of switching off stats wasn't MY stats so much as other people's. i do think losing that context makes me feel better about mine.#for all i know 120 hits for a month-old sifki fic is Incredible Amounts of Number Go Up so i may as well just assume it is right?#just as i have MANY silent fans who are too shy to comment or kudos or rec my fic but they LOVE me and i am their FAVE #okay this little pep-talk in the tags has helped somewhat: i NEED to finish this horrible fic for the lurkers who love me! they'll LOVE it!#ps: the missy & jamie moriarty fic has had 24 hits which considering the crossover i am actually very pleased with :D #\o/#fic related #btw if i start tagging my fic-related posts with the working-titles so i can later track my own thought processes would that be weird?#is that too “anne rice if she had a yahoo mailing list”?

👽 X-Files Crossover Fic Recs

The theme of International Fanworks Day in 2023 is When Fandoms Collide. So here are a bunch of very good X-Files crossover fics. Enjoy! Abner by Anonymous Mulder and Scully are assigned to investigate a possible serial killing in a small, very suburban neighborhood. The Beast Within by Yahtzee Also from the department of twisted crossovers comes this story – but I��ll leave the crossover for you to figure out as you go. Mulder and Scully’s journey to a troubled Louisiana town leads Scully to an encounter with a far more troubled man. Birdsong by @chekcough The plot of Silence of the Lambs, with Dana Scully replacing Clarice Starling, and a younger Agent Mulder, working in the B.S.U, assigned to help her. It is not at all necessary to have seen/read either 'The Silence of the Lambs' or 'The X-Files' to enjoy this. The Glimmering Girl by Tesla Mulder works a child abduction with Frank Black, while Scully is away for the weekend, but very much on Mulder’s mind. Homicidal Tendencies by Swikstr What begins as a typical ritual murder case with supernatural overtones for Mulder and Scully in Baltimore becomes something else as the two are forced to interact with some of the unique personalities on Charm City's murder squad. Crossover pairing triad spotlight: WinterHawkHood (Bucky Barnes/Clint Barton/Jason Todd)

Part of the appeal of these three might be the way they balance each other out; there are a lot of parallels, but they have wildly different temperaments. Another part is the way they've all dabbled in dubious morality at one point or another; none fit the traditional hero mold, and they're all more interesting for it. Whatever the reason, they’re a whole lot of fun to write. And thanks to @winterhawkhood-tober, there are a decent number of fics to choose from here!

Finders Keepers by @drgrlfriend - PG, 1500 words. Funny "meet-ugly" fic in which their pets get together before they do.

Marshmallow Crime Lords series by @noxnthea and @there-must-be-a-lock - PG-13, 46k and counting. Fluffy feel-good series with established WinterHawkHood and lots of general Batfam shenanigans.

Penguin by @claraxbarton - teen, 4700 words. Hockey AU! Clara posted a WHH fic every day during October and is singlehandedly responsible for well over a third of the fics in this tag, and it was hard to narrow down which ones to include, but this is a standout.

Third Wheel by @kangofu-cb - explicit, 10,770 words. Absolutely stellar threesome, featuring established Winterhawk with Jason as the guest star. Starts hilarious, gets scorching-hot, ends with a hint of feelings.

Staring At The Sun (Can't Look Away) series by @flowerparrish - 9k total, individual fics range from T to explicit. Adorable coffeeshop AU featuring trans!Clint and lots of fluff.

Snow On The Beach series by @bittercape - fics range from T to explicit, 13k total. Poly negotiations. Some fics are cute and fluffy, some are super sexy, all have great characterization and relationship dynamics.

Tear Through The Night And Raise Some Hell by @carcrash429 - explicit, 6500 words. Vampires! Spooky, angsty, and intriguing.

Raven & Raven(ous) by @claraxbarton and @kangofu-cb - teen/explicit and 4600/7400 respectively. Magic AU! The first fic is Clara's fun setup for a whole beautifully-sketched-out universe; the second is CB's deliciously smutty follow-up, set about a year later.

Feels Like The First Time by @mightymightygnomepriest - explicit, 2k. An incredibly sweet, poignant, and sexy fic about Clint and Bucky giving Jason a second chance at a first time.

So Annabeth did something every rational not paranoid teen would do. She became his lab partner and bugged his school bag. Or the fic where Peter thinks Annabeth is just a friendly neighborhood ninja mentor to him until Annabeth decides to single-handedly fix everything post NWH.

Demigods at Midtown oneshot #1. Annabeth's characterization-- and Peter's confusion-- is everything! Fix-it fic.

This is my #1 absolute favorite Percy Jackson/Marvel fic. It's excellently written, it's long, and it's funny. I adore Natasha's characterization.

About four months later, Natasha drops by the Jacksons' apartment to take her first close look at the child that heralds the realization of the Great Prophecy. She thinks he looks small.

This fic has characters from the Avengers and Daredevil! Percy is 14, which is a refreshing take on a familiar trope. Well-written, excellent characterization.

I'm going to link the RtN recursive collection just in case you haven't seen it because I adore a lot of the works in there even there's a good chance you've already gone through it, but there's sooo many talented authors who've written some fantastic fics in there that I just have to include it!!

Outside of that collection, here's some of my favorite BNHAxNaruto crossovers listed in order of wordcount! All of them are Kakashi-centric.

There was no right answer. No do-or-die, no victory if only he was fast or clever enough, no solution when he’d already been ordered not to fix this. He’d never, ever, in all his life, even once considered betraying his village. No part of his mind had ever been capable of looking for solutions to his problems away from his home. But in the village, there was no solution, and away from the village–No. He couldn’t. If he tried to take the village jinchuriki and go missing-nin he would be hunted down and killed before the day was out. There was no possible survival with this crazy, foolish idea. … There was no living with any of his other options, either.

Kakashi is reborn as the product of a drunken one-night stand between Aizawa and Ms. Joke. Mistakes were made, and Kakashi was definitely one of them. Still, Aizawa has to figure out how to treat him like a son instead of a student.

Kakashi isn't sure about this arrangement either. Sure his new Mom was annoying, but this guy is depressed. Does he really want to deal with a depressed father again? Not really. It would probably be better for both of them if Kakashi ended this facade of bonding and head back to his Mom's house.

He wasn't sure what happened.

That sign hadn’t gotten above a “10” for as long as Nastya could remember. At least it saved on the amount of number signs that had to be made.

Beyond the desert haze, a few minutes walk away from the landing site, was a town. Low-slung houses clustered around a marginally taller city center, though none of the buildings were particularly large or impressive even there. However, there was a large radio tower stuck smack-dab in the middle of town, and another on the far side of the settlement. Neither had any signs of disuse, and Nastya wondered at the necessity of having two separate towers for such a small community.Maybe there were a lot of radio enthusiasts about.
