Because I kiiiinda don't vibe with trauma being made into something hideous and terrifying. It's one thing for Jason to take those symbols of trauma for himself, and another thing for other people to look and go "Bad Wrong Scary"

I really like the knight terrors series, the plot is literally character analysis ™ and good character growth

The best thing about this nightmare trope is that every character gets to face and defeat their deep-down personal fear. This one is my fav so far, Jason fearing not having anyone he can reach out to, Tim fearing that he is a "pick-me" robin that's never good enough. These insecurities are important parts of the characters so exploring them makes great character growth plot.

personally I also like the choice of fears here. "you can't save everyone but you try your best and that's what counts" and "we will never stop trying to reach you despite your faults" are such wise messages.

Tim and Jason know what the other fears and they both reached out to comfort and assure the other. They are finding out the things they have in common. I am literally melting from the family feel I see here, your honor they are brothers and this is why.

In the end Jason learned to accept love and help. Tim learned to accept himself. What more can I ask for.

Love the positive relationship development we need more of this in batfam
