I don’t know about anyone else, but ads have made being on the internet a generally frustrating experience. I feel like they’re everywhere. I visit a single recipe site without being bombarded by a fuck ton of ads, and not to mention social media. And before anyone tells me just to download an ad blocker, more websites are following YouTubes footsteps and simply not functioning with them installed.
I guess the good thing about them is they piss me off so much I’m spending less time online.
There is one major thing I am not fond of here. Beyond all else. (That I've seen so far) Ads in the background behind posts. Some of them video ads. That just put a space in between posts to see through to the ad, but even when you scroll past it, it is in the background. Those ads. They are an absolute blight to my phone's battery life, intrusive, and worse than ad posts, because at least those go away once you scroll past.
Honestly, I am sick of ads in general on every platform. Or multiple times in every youtube video, or even KID'S APPS on mobile which link to the play store where many things can be purchased and sometimes won't let you past to the actual game. Ads where they don't belong, it's like they are pushing the villains point from ready player one. (At least the movie)
Mobile games have never been in a worse state, you are watching more ads than playing the games. And now since all of them require internet connection, you can't just go into airplane mode to turn them off.
There's also ads that my Ad Blocker can't even get rid of, like sponsored posts on social media. Ads on game consoles. Ads on windows. Ads on the new tab page of my internet browsers. Ads in my notifications for apps I DON'T EVEN HAVE.
aaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!
I know we are all sick of ads. But I just needed to rant. Thank you for your time.
"friendly reminder that alastor is aroace" this "alastor is sex-repulsed" that-- alastor is a demon from an animated cartoon who loves to gossip and has beef with a television set because he hates modern technology, it's not that deep
On the idea of Theseus's Ship: in the end, it's still his, isn't it?
It was known as Theseus's, and it will continue to be known as Theseus's.
Even after he has returned to the ground which grew the wood of the hammer used to nail the ship's frame,
Even after generations of new wood have rotted and the sails are rags clinging to threads,
Even after millennia,
Long car trips mean hunch over my ipad and film dumb stupid videos in restaurants at 11pm 😍 (future me screw u idk if it’s shaky also do not perceive me)
