what did you mean about laudna and ashton driving you nuts?
mmmmm. dangerous territory! for me, i mean. to indulge the side of me that don't give a fu about–
it's pretty interesting how this ep turned out to be a direct comparison between laudna and ashton and how they discover and come to terms with the idea that there is an option for them to ostensibly destroy themselves in the name of protecting/helping/saving the rest of the party
a few ppl have already discussed this with far more thought and nuance than i'm willing to put into words right now but something something both of them taking this as an opportunity to Be Useful and Contribute to the cause, blind or perhaps willingly ignorant to the fact that these people love them for who they are and that they don't need to Do Something in order to be loved - in fact, losing them is actually a far less acceptable outcome to the party than whatever reward they perceive to be gained from their self-sacrifice. which is all very sad and tragic and juicy and pulls at the heartstrings which i always love. but this is kind of where the similarities end?
laudna follows this with a conversation in which she tells imogen what she would want to happen in rather explicit terms. and when imogen responds by saying she'll do everything in her power to stop it from getting to that point, laudna says "i can accept that." the next morning, they tell the whole group what happened. on the other hand, ashton pulls fearne aside and has their own grave conversation but in more vague terms, at least in the sense that i don't think fearne picked up what they were putting down or at the very least wasn't given the opportunity to really process and respond to what was asked. and then ashton isolated the two of them from the rest of the group to undergo this transformation without their knowledge. all of which drives me nuts! to see the direct comparison in which one is so much more communicative than the other
and i don't think it's fair to say that this is a consequence of the party being poor communicators overall. it's somewhat reminiscent of vax's initial response to scanlan leaving in c1 - we don't know your mother's name because you never talked about it. aka there's a difference between ashton bringing up this desire or plan to hold both shards and everyone brushing it off/not sufficiently exploring it vs. ashton choosing not to ask for their opinions, ideas, or feelings about it because he thinks they won't let him do it. he unilaterally made the decision for everyone, which is the most frustrating part for me. they presume to know what is best for everyone, and they presume to know that this is the only option, despite being surrounded by not only some of the most powerful people on the planet but also the people who care for them the most. which he said himself: nobody will miss me when i die, given that we all die - implicitly saying that if i am the only one who dies, i know you all will miss me. so to me it feels disrespectful to them, because even having acknowledged that they care, he doesn't trust that they might have ideas for a better solution or that they might recognize what this means to him and try to help him survive it. or that they might not want to be "saved" if it means losing him. or that they might like to say goodbye.
i know many people are saying that this is in line for ashton's character, frustrating or not, which i think is true. but it feels stagnant to me. ashton has come a long way in terms of learning to care for these people but they have learned little about being cared for. and while laudna is trying to believe what others say to her (that they love her, that she's important, that she deserves life) with varying degrees of success, to me ashton feels like they have made minimal progress and/or aren't trying to make progress. they refuse to see bells hells for what they so loudly and clearly are - people who love and care for each other, ashton included. and unfortunately, 77 episodes in and coming up on a vastly important mission (the first in a while), this brand of hypocrisy (taliesin's words not mine!) and lack of awareness for the group's feelings in the name of High Risk High Reward is something i have a rather low tolerance for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
and for the record i've been thinking about this a loooot because i know most of it is colored by my general apathy toward this character. and i understand that a lot of people who love this character are so so fascinated by and invested in what happened. but my apathy toward ashton is something that i've tried to circumvent or logic my way out of a LOT in the past few years and at this point it's kind of an immovable object. and doing mental gymnastics to try and enjoy someone that i simply don't makes everything so much worse! so i don't mean to rain on anyone's parade but these are my thoughts whether i like it or not
tl;dr the end of this ep didn't make me excited, it just kinda made me feel annoyed and crazy. sorry

i wasn't on tumblr when tlou part 2 dropped but i would love to know your thoughts on the game especially if/how they've changed with time if you're up to writing a paragraph lol
also i've seen a lot of ppl (i've never had a playstation so i have to go off of other ppl's opinions) say that while the story is about how the cycle of revenge is bad that the gameplay still rewards it and how that sort of defeats the purpose of the game for them and wanted to know your thoughts on that
happy tlou season 2 renewal <3
YES YES YES you know i’m always up for writing a paragraph (or ten)
first, let me just clarify one thing: the main message of the game is not “revenge is bad”. i hear people say this constantly and it’s just not true. the real message is all about forgiveness. if i had to boil it down to its essentials, i’d say the message is “love is a stronger force than hate.” but that’s just one interpretation!
i don’t feel that the gameplay rewards the cycle of revenge at all. abby kills joel and in return, she systematically loses everyone she cares about – leah, nick, jordan, nora, manny, yara, mel, and owen... plus she will never be allowed to go home to the WLF again. lev loses his entire family and community too. and they’ve both experienced unspeakable horrors while they were held captive by the rattlers. abby was punished for her decision at literally every turn. but she keeps fighting to survive because she has found a much stronger reason than hate to stay alive: love. protection. family. the first time she ever has a happy dream of her father, after years of nightmares, is when she saves yara and lev. killing joel didn’t give abby closure, but finding something to fight for did. it’s the exact same thing joel found with ellie.
ellie is not rewarded for her actions either. she’s the one picking off the salt lake crew members one by one, but we see her lose a piece of herself each time. she’s not experiencing catharsis, she’s only spiraling deeper into obsession and grief. she can’t appreciate anything good in her life, because she’s still consumed by everything she’s lost. she walks out on her partner, their baby, and their dream home to chase after this elusive “closure”, knowing that she may die trying. i think ellie herself knows that killing abby won’t make her feel better, but the only alternative is forgiving joel and moving on without him, which she doesn’t feel is possible yet. she has to lose everything before she’s able to accept joel for who he is and what he’s done.
it’s a fucking masterpiece the way that the game makes you think joel and ellie’s last conversation was a fight, until they reveal that actually, their last conversation was ellie offering him an olive branch. “i don’t think i can ever forgive you for that. but... i would like to try.” is so impactful because ellie never got the chance to forgive joel while he was alive. even while she was trying to avenge his death, she couldn’t forgive him. it’s only when she has lost herself that she can finally forgive him, and perhaps she can even understand him. that forgiveness has nothing to do with abby or anyone else – it’s all about ellie. it’s about love.
as for my personal opinions about tlou2, they haven’t changed much. i loved it when i played it the first time and i love it even more now!! i greatly appreciate the sheer balls they had, and the fact that they never changed their creative vision to make the game more palatable / marketable. i’ve never seen a game make such an unpopular choice and i respect the fuck out of them for doing it no matter what anyone said. i love joel but i’m glad he died because it gave rise to one of the most impactful stories i’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing 💖
(special mention to the fact that the main character is a lesbian, which is something i would never even think to wish for because it’s so uncommon in games of this genre. ellie is everything i’ve ever wanted from gay rep, meaning that she’s literally just existing as a gay person and her sexuality has hardly anything to do with the plot. i fucking love how she has a detailed story, a rich personality, and complicated relationships while she just happens to be a lesbian. it’s literally perfect, no notes!)

Ok so…. This is my first post and I’m trying to create a concrete story outline for these characters I have and I’ve seen that a lot of y’all are rlly good at angst and well written ideas…. I was kinda hoping someone might help me write out more for these characters backgrounds and storylines….
Ummmm… so so far I have only some for two characters Duco and Nyleen, both are the main characters and imma introduce more characters later on and also post pictures later on (hopefully) to help with the picturing and stuff but uhh.. here’s what I have so far. Oh also btw these are in idea form, not story so pls don’t expect some sort of elaborate story, just ideas to solidify said story.
Duco and Nyleen story
In an everyday regular high school, Duco and Nyleen go to school
Duco is being heavily bullied and no matter how much Nyleen tries to protect him no one else helps and none of the teachers do anything so it’s kinda rlly bad
One day the bullying got rlly bad and in the end as soon as Nyleen got there to help she came in time to have her brother die in her arms
After the “accident” Nyleen has to deal with the fact that the so called popular students killed her brother
She starts to slowly go insane the more time she spent at school knowing the reason she no longer had her little brother was because of those people so she starts to intricately plan their deaths to be the most sadistic, violent, and painful deaths
She plans it for everyone who wronged her brother: their dad, the teachers, the bullies, the police, ppl who did nothing, etc
The only people who will be left alive are those who were actually their friends
Before she could put these plans into effect, she had to pretend to be nice to all of them. She became a “popular” only with the thought of homicide comforting her rage against the people who wronged Duco
After all the planning, Nyleen puts each and every plan to effect and succeeds, creating a huge massacre with only a select few surviving
After all was said and done Nyleen was killed by one of the survivors. She purposely left that one survivor alive knowing they would kill her
She didn’t fight back and just let them take her life
____
After Duco died, he was sent to heaven
As beautiful as heaven was represented on earth it was nothing like the actual thing.
It still had the same principles of how a good person would come to heaven and a bad to hell but it was corrupted and overrun by power hungry people who made it in with the loophole of doing good instead of meaning good
Duco tries to make it a better place, finding other good people and trying to form a strike against the corrupt system only to be cast down to hell and become a “Fallen”
____
After Nyleen had died, she was obviously sent to hell
In hell, as a “newborn” demon she was assumed to be weak and was sent off to an imprisonment camp where all new/weak demons, imps, devils, etc. were sent
Her rage and deeds put her into the demon category which in the hierarchy of hells power was the most powerful but not all demons are powerful and she was assumed to be weak like mentioned earlier
After killing her jailers and escaping the camp, she starts to gains respect and followers (not in the “oh your a good person” way but in the “Daym she killed them all” or “damn she could kill me rlly easily” way)
Sooner or later Nyleen becomes one of the most powerful and respected figures in hell
Years of self defense and fights for survival hardened her into a cold killer with no sense of mercy along with the thoughts of how the world had killed her brother and she no longer could be with him
At least until one day she witnessed a bright light fall from the top of the accursed cavern and land in her territory
Of course she went to check out what it was only to find her dead brother lying on the ground
For the first time since Nyleen had come to hell she cried
____
After falling, Duco landed in a sort of barren waste land
The first thing he saw when he came to was someone in front of him crying
Not knowing who it was he instantly tried to comfort them
That was until he heard that someone utter “Uco” (pronounced “you-co”)
He instantly recognized the name and replied “Nyl”? (Pronounced “Nile”)
He started to cry as well
After a while of them sitting there crying, embracing each other in a desperate hug, they were approached by a group of demons
They proclaimed themselves as the “council” and demanded that Duco would be sent to the camp
Nyleen obviously defended him, threatening them with her power, ready to tear each one limb from limb until they said that if they died or if she didn’t follow, they would call down the angels to finish him (Duco) off
(Angels and demons have no differences in their power levels but Nyleen knew that her power and respect would not last against both the angels and the “Council’s” group)
Nyleen only agreed with the condition that she would go as well
The council instantly agreed with the thought of getting rid of one of the most prominent and powerful figures in hell, giving them more power
Jokes on them, Nyleen got out on her own accord so she’ll do the same, just with her brother this time
__________
Additional details
The names Satan and Angel are titles, not beings or levels of powers
The title is given to the being with the most territory, followers/people, reputation, etc.
Like basically the person with the biggest, strongest mafia
Nyleen being Nyleen gains the attention of Satan who later approaches her, befriends her, and acts as her stand-in father
Meanwhile in heaven, before Duco gets kicked, he manages to gain the attention of Angel who also approaches and befriends him and acts as his stand-in mom
Names will be given later their names are N O T Angel and Satan. Those are just titles
Oh also….mom…. Dad….. hint hint
Oh also btw, both Angel and Satan are men. Not bc of the whole women are weaker sh1t but bc I want s o m e sort of gay in here bc I can(╹◡╹)
Also
The scars on Duco and Nyleen are indications of how they died…. Or at least show the wounds they had as they died
Duco’s scar across his cheek is from being thrown into the ground and heavily scraping his face
He also died from blunt force trauma to the head
Also if we wanna have more angst we can say that the bullies dunno that Duco was dead, so they taunted Nyleen about why he no longer came to school which drove her even closer to insanity

@oftheobsidianheart asked me 1-5 for vino!! imma split these questions up over a few posts cause w/ question 1 it was already getting a bit long + i should probably do my homework at some point =_= so here's the first one
1. Who are they closest to? How did they meet and what do they like to do together?
vino has always struggled to connect w/ others so the ppl who he manages to bond w/ he's very ride or die for.
starting off w/ vespera, she's his older sister. a lot of love and care there on both sides, very fiercely loyal + protective of each other for sure. they grew up only rly having each other and so where one goes the other follows. a typical vespera & vino hang out sessh is them in the same room doing their own thing in comfortable silence. vespera reads a book vinos working on his gadgets etc etc stuff like that
next up are his friends from the bitd game i played w/ him! vino met billy (belongs to @coccolithophore) & skunk (belongs to @threeofswords) thru vespera. they're all criminals and were doing heists together for a time. vespera has tried to stay out of the spotlight ever since she had her son but was w/ billy + skunk doing heists for $$$. mostly to get vino out of jail
once that was done, vino joined the group and began going on heists to pay off his debts (and hopefully vespera one day) vespera stepped back and more played a supportive role by gathering intel for everyone
vino cares for skunk and billy both very very much and considers them his dearest friends tho he'd be very very embarrassed to actually admit that. at first vino just cared about them as far as they were Business Partners basically. for billy i'd say The Point where they became friends is when billy let himself be captured one time to let vino + skunk get away from a Heist Gone Wrong. vino is... very used to being ditched the moment things get a little tough, so for someone to actually Take the fall for him, let alone actually stay by his side at all when the going gets tough??? that kind of loyalty means a lot to him
his relationship w/ skunk developed in a similar way; vino didnt really consider him a Friend until after they went on a solo heist together. it was Technically a successful one, but Just Barely, at great personal cost to vino. things got Pretty dicey that game, with vino nearly dying at several points LOL. vino kept expecting skunk to bail asap but he never did. vino was an emotional Wreck that game too and cried a lot to skunk who was pretty kind about it which. he also wasn't expecting. i dont think i've mentioned it on this blog but vino actually has a massive crush on skunk and this is a lot of where it originates from :P
thanks sm jude!! ill get to the others once i finish my homework 😤

HELLO. ask game time. >:) For Alden, I'm curious about 14 (i see your post about making him into everything he was against and i want More) and 2. You gave me five, I'll stick to three - I also wanna know about 7 for Higgins >:)))
!!! Let's go :D
(Gonna go in number order and oh god it got Long)
Alden, 2. What is your character's favourite weapon/way to fight?
His no1 weapon is the Xoris. The same way I canonised Kohlrabi's frame being a Volt Prime waaay before the Sacrifice bc Volt was my starter, Xoris is also chosen for Attachement Reasons. I love that thing to bits, it got me through so much of the game, and even now when I no longer have one single favourite weapon it is still Up There
His fighting style is fast and flashy. He's far from tanky but he's nimble and quick-witted enough to avoid getting hit most of the time, feet barely touching the ground, an eye-catching moving target. He knows that as long as he keeps attention on himself and avoids getting hit too bad, his allies can either get to safety or deliver blows from the shadows to more success, whichever is applicable at the time
Watching him fight is a bit like watching a dance
Alden, 14. How (not) okay are they with being a Warframe?
It's…complicated
Were he conscious during The Old War (he wasn't anything stronger than a flicker, unlike Lanius) he would've hated every second of his twisted existence. He used to tear at Orokin rule from the shadows, fight a war from behind enemy lines, and they made him into something polished and obedient, a gilded attack dog to do their bidding
He would've done everything he could to tear himself away from Tenno control and take a swing at the golden bastards one last time and die trying (he would've loved Kohlrabi even back then. But he didn't need a telepathic leash and he would've had no intention to drag a child down with himself)
I talked about him having a reasonable level of self-preservation before, but were he conscious during the Old War, that would've gone out the window. He would not have seen himself as alive anymore, and so with no life worth protecting. He would've readily died to land just one last blow on the Orokin
But! None of that happened, so! In present day, he…tries not to think too hard about it? He tries to be neutral at least bc there's no way of changing this now aside from dying, and he does not wanna die. He has a family and a purpose. He doesn't like being seen by strangers as an instrument of war, but it's a useful cover sometimes, and the things he can do as a warframe but never could've as a human help him protect ppl
What "being a warframe" is had changed the day the Orokin Empire fell. Alden no longer has a leash around his neck. He was made from something horrible, but now exists as himself. And he decides what that means
If he could, he'd choose to be human, and he doesn't like looking at it like "well at least something good came of it :)" but he also sees himself as a whole, living being, and tries to live his life as such. Some days it's easier than others
Higgins, 7. What is your favourite thing about this character?
Oh fuck, making me choose
On a meta level it's that ppl enjoy him. Like this blog used to get shitall interaction esp in the OC department and now it gets a lil bit more and that started around when I mentioned how inadvisable it is to allow Higgins in a kitchen. Ppl other than me seem to be fond of this shortass lab safety violation and that makes me really happy
On a less meta level…look, i love individual characters dearly but at the core it's relationships between characters that really drive me to write. And Higgins is fun alone but three times as much when it comes to his relationship with North. I'm having Such a good time subjecting them to Situations. They're idiot best friends and they bond via body sharing and they'd die for each other. Higgins gets to be both the comic relief and the angst potential of his own story but that wouldn't work without North being the other half of everything

Hey, I think I might need your opinion on this, of course only if you’re free to reply to this 🧐
I think one of my irls has a thing for me, her friends sort of told me and I guess she hinted at it a few times but she’s not the sort that makes the first move, is kinda playfully mean to me, is seen and known for her cold exterior, “heartbreaker status” and straightforwardness. She hints me to ask her out to try things she wants to try? I don’t really know how I feel around her except for the fact that I appreciate that her straightforwardness translates to protectiveness for me irl when she doesn’t like the vibes of people I’m conversing with, and that I’m okay with being vulnerable with her because we share similar childhood trauma. What do I do?
Very sincerely asking for your advice as someone who has only recently gained enough confidence to even consider relationships. I kind of just push my feelings away and never act on them and let them die out whilst searching for academic validation, very effective.
Also, since you’ve found me I could very well do a goldfish reveal soon. 🥳
-🦦
heeeeeeeeeeey im so sorry for the late reply i saw this and wanted to answer the same day but life just gets complicated T-T
ok so…. honestly you never know unless you try? like since you said she seems very straightforward and you seem to vibe with each other why not flat out ask her "hey how does (insert day and time) sound? i want take you out on a date" gauging her reaction you could actually go through with something you both are comfortable with or tell her honestly that you feel she's hinting at wanting to do something more with you and you're not sure if she's just being comfortable with you or if she actually wants more and is shy about saying? an honest conversation goes a long way in determining relationships for friends and future partners, just make sure the two of you are alone in a place that makes you comfy like a cafe or walking in the park together idk, have a good long (or short) talk about this and see what happens
my only caution is the "heartbreaker status" and if you are good friends with her or not, some ppl don't want to ruin their friendship and keep their feelings hidden by expressing it another way such as her being playfully mean to you but…if she keeps being mean or bullies you about asking her out she is not worth your time, idk if that makes sense but don't let ppl belittle you and your feelings >:( i'll fight for you
be aware that as someone who did the same just focusing on school until now i'm very dense and have had bad luck in relationships so i'm just wishing you all the best in this and if you need more specific advice, want to rant, or have a concern plz dm me directly and we can talk, other than that i hope this made some sort of sense….?
plz comment below if you have any advice for our favorite anon <3

*cocks gun* give us the essay on the bad ships. Or talk abt his good relationships if you prefer (ppl really do refuse to take the shipping goggles off fr)
i will do BOTH
however i will talk about his positive relationships in a second post so people who don't want to see the entire salt mines i contain about this can still get the good content. because i am about to be an unrepentant hater.
so. from the information i've gathered, there are four 'main' raiden ships that people seem to split up between. (there are more minor ones but they all suck too and i don't want to talk about them because many of them venture into the downright horrifying.) those four ships are with the following individuals: rosemary, solid snake, vamp, and jetstream sam. now, when it comes to ships, i go in for the ones that are healthy and don't completely butcher the involved characters, so if anyone's reading this who doesn't give a shit about that then i guess this post won't mean anything to you. this still applies if it's a solely physical relationship--'friends with benefits' still involves them actually being, y'know, able to stand each other, and 'hate sex' as a concept is just... no thanks. plus even in those cases a lot of this kind of thing would still require completely ignoring the characters' actual personalities. not for me, thank you!
bonus points in this particular case because raiden already has so many awful, toxic relationships in his life and i simply do not see why anyone would feel the need to add more. anyway, time to actually get into my complaints. i'm not going to be super tactful about this. or tactful at all, really. you've been warned.
i have talked about the rose thing many times already so i'm just going to skip her because i'm not sure what else there is to say.
i've also touched on the problems with vamp. i like vamp just fine as his own character, but that doesn't mean i don't still disapprove of this idea. they're incompatible by virtue of one of them doesn't really give that much of a shit and just wants to die and the other one is perfectly fine making that happen. yes, yes, vamp is freud's best friend, but that doesn't mean shit on an emotional level and i doubt it really means much if anything on a physical level either. this one would either be vastly unhealthy or ridiculously inaccurate. moving on!
next up i want to talk about solid snake. i'll be honest here, i just do not like the guy, but that isn't the reason why i don't like this ship. again, this one would be incredibly unhealthy. raiden clearly looks up to snake, i'd go so far as to call it hero worship--he seems to think of snake almost as a mentor figure, which, considering the fact that the man who he grew up with and who 'taught him everything' was another of big boss's clones, isn't that much of a surprise. meanwhile, during mgs2, snake... does not treat him like an equal in the slightest. quite the opposite, in fact. even beyond consistently belittling him for his (perceived) lack of experience, rarely giving him any actual positive acknowledgement, insulting him behind his back, and generally just being an asshole... well, this is my hot take: snake doesn't treat raiden that much better than any of the other major players do. he isn't actively trying to kill raiden (but then again, neither are the patriots, for most of it), but other than that, let's run over the list: manipulating raiden, check, lying to him, check, betraying him and throwing him to the wolves when it suits his purposes, check! (also, he basically ignores raiden actively having a mental breakdown and just says a bunch of cryptic and unhelpful shit. how caring of him, i say sarcastically.)
and to say nothing of mgs4! holy shit, mgs4 is bad on the raiden-and-snake front. raiden literally throws himself into danger constantly and almost dies three separate times while trying to protect snake. he WOULD HAVE died at the end there if snake hadn't finally gotten him to stop with the suicide missions. 'my body is a machine, i can take it' you can't put metal in the microwave for a goddamn reason. aaaaand aside from having a couple decent moments, snake is... still an asshole. he tried to take raiden to shadow moses island when he was dying and by the time he finally changed his mind (because a CHILD had to convince him not to) he was telling raiden he had a family when he had already been very clearly told that no, no he doesn't. of course raiden has a breakdown. and snake ignores him. again. raiden pours his heart out and begs snake not to leave him alone and snake just says 'this is my fight' and leaves. that's it. like i said, he has a few moments, but by and large i think it's pretty obvious that raiden cares a lot more about snake than snake does about him.
the inherent emotional and power imbalance that would be and is present in any relationship (platonic (which is what we actually see), romantic, sexual, anything) between the two of them downright horrifies me. raiden would be putting almost all of the work into it for very little in return, and i just... i can't accept that. he deserves better than that.
aaaaaaand jetstream sam. christ. this one is so popular, and for what? for what? their first meeting is sam helping murder a man raiden truly respects and considers a friend. and then maiming him. including destroying one of the only organic parts he has left. all the while mocking him and then almost killing him, too.
and their second meeting doesn't go any better. sam immediately and cheerfully starts messing with raiden's mind, employing brutal psychological warfare to the point that raiden almost lets himself get killed because he's too damn nice for his own good and can barely bring himself to fight back against the people trying to kill him.
this is, of course, all while sam is working for desperado, a company that is kidnapping children off the streets and turning them into brainwashed cyborg soldiers, aka some of the most horrifying things raiden's been put through in his life at the same time. and then he has the nerve to try and take the moral high ground.
and then there's the third meeting! in which they once again try to kill each other. the fact that sam is calling raiden a pretty boy and saying to 'show [him] a good time' during this fight does not mean anything. he's not flirting with him, he's mocking him. his tendency to do that is literally one of his most blatant character traits. it's creepy. and even if he was flirting, that's not nearly enough to build anything off of.
the fact that he decides to help raiden at the end also doesn't mean anything. unless you want to look at his dlc and decide that since he decided to help armstrong that means you ship THEM.
that's actually another of the reasons it would never work. raiden is an idealist. he has very strong beliefs about right and wrong. and sam... doesn't. his little 'we've heard enough speeches about ideals' is just something he says to disguise the fact that he doesn't have any. he flip-flops over committing atrocities like he's trying to decide what to have for breakfast. meanwhile raiden would have sooner let armstrong kill him than help with his plans. they're completely incompatible. raiden might have had some respect for sam's fighting skills, but he'd never respect him as a person. because sam goes against everything he is.
i could say so much more on that, but this post is long enough as is, and i've already made you wait almost four hours... sorry about that... i have a lot of thoughts. a lot of them.

SPOILER FOR DOCTOR STRANGE IN MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS!!!
Am I gonna bitter that Christine and Stephen don't end up with each other? Yes
Do I acknowledge that they parting is the logical and reasonable development and the closure that Stephen need? Yes
Do the movie make it crystal clear that no matter what universe, their relationship just won't work out and they're not fitting for each other? Yes
Do they avoid the "win the girl" trope and let Strange and Christine become their own person at the end? Yes
Do they throw the absolute gorgeous Charlize Theron at the end and they instantly look like the baddest couple ever? Yes, of course
Am I satisfied with how they end? Hell nah
Like, the movie keeps pushing their loveline so hard to the point I have no choice but to be invested in it and actually rooting for him to win her back some way or else he'll literally die a virgin or something. Christine name is mentioned as much as Wanda. Stephen literally can't shut up about her. She's like, his whole world that he can throw away his underpaid sorcerer job the minute she wants to get back. Which is surprising considering how he treated her in the first movie. The point is, my man smitten HARD for her in MoM. His evil self's condition to save the world is just to have on his side again (ofc not in a good way, but ya know). Just mentioning her name is enough to make him look devastated. The movie make it like being with her is the only way he can be truly happy. And he confirmed that he loves her IN EVERY UNIVERSE. LIKE????? HOW CAN I NOT ROOT FOR THEM???? AND YOU TELL ME I CAN'T GET AT LEAST A KISS???? I WANT ANGST AND THIS IS NOT ENOUGH??????
What do you mean when evil Stephen got impaled in front of her he didn't slowly trembling reaching for her while trying to call her name in his last breath? What do you mean when Stephen trying to invite her to his universe and she declined, he didn't stop right there and just watching her slowly disappear through the portal then he whispered "I love you in every universe"???? What do you mean the watch didn't start working only when he's with her????
Why even pushing the romance when you can't push the angst as hard? If this is a tragic love story from start to finish then I want more longing, more unsaid words, more painful flashback and at least one "could've been". You telling me Wanda have real children in other universes and imagine children in MCU universe but Stephen can't have ONE different universe when their relationship is real? Like, he saw a snippet of what could've been between them if he sacrifices his Dr Strange role and have to let go of that reality at the end cos his job is too important and now he has more ppl to protect. Imagine, he saw himself finally being actually happy for once, next to the love of his life, only when he gives up all of his superhero responsibility. But he acknowledges that the Christine in front of him doesn't think like that and pursuit her father only hurt them more. So he decided for himself that he has to move on without Christine having to do any prep talk. Not to mention it parallels Wanda's arc in the movie and makes them even better foil for each other. They both saw a good "could've been" of themselves and one destroy everything to get that while one sacrifice that chance to save everyone.
Do I want him to continue loving her after that? Of course. A past love doesn't have to be a dead love. You can move on and still having feeling, nothing wrong with that. Personally I think that proves the love was and is real, and it deserves to be treasured in their heart as a good memory.
That's my rant, thank you for listening

Can you do Monaca!mc, an unwanted child from wedlock, neglected and abused by their own brother and father, always has a smile on their face but deep down their are hurting, admired junko who saved them from doing suicide and help her plunging the world into despair, inspired to be just like her even if it means using her "friends" as a stepping, the plan failed, now their a NEET in space that don't want anything to do with hope and despair due to someone else obsession (nagito)
Dorm leaders with a Monaca!MC
warning(s): probably ass writing, sorry
notes: i genuinely do not know how do i write for her so uh forgive me JSBAJBSJS but looking at this kind of mc, they would probably fit in ignihyde or octavinelle honestly
Seemingly very amiable and caring, you appear very cheerful and have a childish way of talking, sometimes meowing and almost exclusively referring to yourself in the third person.
However, underneath that facade, you're manipulative and cunning. When things are not going your way, you'll manipulate the situation by any means necessary. You ultimately have very little regard for others' well-being, knowingly using their traumatic pasts against them and not feeling any sympathy nor sorrow for them nor anyone else.
But as time went on, you turned more cynical, lazy and apathetic, not really caring about anything.
Riddle:
he really doesn't like how lazy you are
looking at ur grades and ur knowledge about machines, u can surely do smth bigger if u just tried
so now u have riddle going
Tumblr media
HELPPPP IT LOOKS LIKE RIDDLE SINCE ITS RED
ahem
he's giving u a speech
a really really long speech
u probably don't care lmfao
well at least riddle tries‼️he gave u the same speech over and over again
other than that, he loves that you're "cheerful" and "caring"!
yes, he doesn't know
he would probably push ur wheelchair to heartslabyul's garden to show u just how beautiful that place is
if u asked, he would push ur wheelchair around to show u beautiful spots around school too‼️
Leona:
lots of potential, lazy + lots of potential, lazy
probably kins each other
well in a way
i don't think y'all interacted much tbh
like yes, you're both lazy but have lots of potential and then what
he doesn't really care about u honestly
and honestly? he probably saw through your facade
he's not stupid, he has seen people like u back in the afterglow savannah
how ppl are cheerful in front of him and then talked bad behind him after
he is the unwanted prince in his own kingdom after all
bonds over yalls trauma of being unwanted?
now leona is slightly more protective of u once he knows just how similar y'all are
if someone is making fun of ur wheelchair? well they better prepare one for themselves right now
someone is giving u a hard time? leona is right at their throat
he'd rather die than admit it tho LMAO
Azul:
probably saw through ur facade?
amused out of all honesty
OOO BUT WON'T THE BATTLE BETWEEN U TWO BE MORE INTERESTING AWHVDBSBSJS
i mean like
cunning vs cunning
argh AWFR AWRF
there's probably that unspoken rivalry between the two of u even after his whole overblot insident
tho, u are probably too lazy to as much as to lift a finger to fight with him
so it became just that, unspoken rivalry
he probably have to keep u away from floyd multiple times tho
knowing floyd, he'll make ur wheelchair into a car and run around school with it
so azul just gotta make sure he's away from u
Kalim:
would happily push ur wheelchair around school
he might be going a little too fast so u might have to warn him about it
actually nvm. jamil is alr chasing after u two and telling kalim to calm down a little
you're probably a little bit skeptical of his friendliness but let it slide after seeing how genuine he is
he is now the one who always pushes ur wheelchair around school for u
he got distracted easily tho so uh
"lets go to the cafeteria" "ok!"
*ended up in the library or smth*
while u don't care about it that much, u still think it was kind of annoying, occasionally shooting him annoyed glances
(😡i will come for u)
Vil:
oh god we have another lazy potato around
he just wants to roll his eyes at you
he's an actor so he may or may not seen through ur facade
well u dont seem like u care too much to do what u did back in ur world so
he just leaves it alone honestly
if u two were to ever got close tho ,he would surely put small decorations on ur wheelchair
who says u can't be beautiful even if u can't walk? vil will most certainly try to let u shine more
i mean you're skeptical of him but u just let it slide again
since even if he does have ulterior motives, how can he even use u in this magic world amirite
to be clear, vil 100% does not hold any ulterior motives against you!!
Idia:
idk how did yall interact but it must've had smth to do with robots and machines
so now you guys are bonding over it
idia would sometimes invite u to his dorm to discuss about this
like ah! he's making a new project
how about he calls u in to help him?
considering how u have experience making robots and even going as far as to go to space, u must've known a thing or two
so now you're bonding
ortho is making happy noises at the back bcs yes‼️his big brother just got a friend‼️
may or may not be thinking of giving u some robotic legs😁oh dw he's not thinking about it, he was /j dw!
😁...
Malleus:
now I'm kind of stuck with him
like ik he's not stupid and he can most definitely see through ur facade too but
at the same time he probably won't notice it?
but let's go with the first option just to play safe
he's probably too amused to even not hang with u
plus, its not like you're planning to do anything since u don't seem to have any interest in anything so he's not all that worried
other than that, ur way of talking quite amused him
he's not good with machines
and by that i mean hes probably boomer level
and you're good with machines
u probably don't care much but u will tell him abt certain machines if he asked KSNSMSM

hello hello, i see your requests are open now and can i request izana, wakasa, chifuyu and kazutora with an akutagawa!s/o? hope you have a great day/noon/night! ✨🤗
hi anon! sure! I will try my best with izana and wakasa since there's not tons to work with personality wise so forgive me if theirs are a little shorter heh. im gonna include a little blurb from the bsd fandom wiki for anyone not familiar with his character! I like these kinds of headcanon requests so if anyone wants to see more please feel free to request!
"Akutagawa has a black and white "survival of the fittest" view of the world, claiming that weak people should die and give way to the stronger ones. He is not afraid of pain and defeat His ruthless, vicious nature makes him one of the Port Mafia's most dangerous members, feared by both ally and foe. As violent as he is, Akutagawa maintains a generally composed and detached approach. Towards subordinates and superiors alike, he acts aloof, distancing himself from social interactions however possible. Nonetheless, his composure is fragile. Akutagawa is quick to lash out, ridiculing him for risking the bounty by acting recklessly. This quick temper often gets in his way, fuelling his actions to the core of his very being."
SUMMARY: izana, wakasa, chifuyu, && kazutora with an akutagawa!so
CW: hints of toxicity and violence, mentions of sex but not really all that nsfw-ish so otherwise not much else!
IZANA
- this is an interesting one because from what we know about izana, he is very similar in personality to akutagawa in terms of ruthlessness that stems from childhood trauma and isolation.
- in the case of a s/o with this personality, I think it would be a troubling relationship. lots of bitter fights fuelled by nothing but an inability to express vulnerability, while leaving both of you torn up inside and begging for someone to nurture the trauma and allow space for emotions.
- that being said, with toxicity and trauma also comes intense passion and desire. this relationship brings a lot of fire both in the bedroom and outside of the bedroom, with simple arguments often spawning into intense desperate (and lengthy might I add) sex. like, intense. it's almost like sex is the only safe outlet of these pent up emotions, providing a sort of comfort and also distraction for both parties.
- however as I said in general, this is definitely a toxic relationship. one where neither can help the other when it comes to growth and improvement on a personal level. it's unhealthy and enabling, but for a short lived fling it is hot as fuck im not even gonna lie. lots of hate sex too.
WAKASA
- so wakasa is another interesting one alongside izana given the lack of information and content we have about his character so please excuse the slight kc fanon version I have in my head of wakasa lol
- wakasa has a "don't fuck with me because I do not fucking care" type of vibe to him. I definitely think he's the type to completely disengage from the type of behaviours an akutagawa-type s/o might display. this leads to sort of a sense of competitiveness in trying to get some kind of reaction from him, and it has the potential (much like izana) to become toxic in nature
- any attempts to get under his skin are failed attempts, and the way he looks at you with that half bored expression is something that only triggers more of a somewhat emotional response from you.
- with that being said, my fanon version of wakasa is someone who while cold and aloof, is also quite a rational person. he's been typed by the fandom as INTJ which is quite a quick thinker, and I think he probably (despite not showing it very well) has a soft spot for you. but your passion and intensity (as well as your easily triggered dynamic) keeps him from completely being able to express this care in any way other than not engaging with your antics
- as much as there are some similarities with the type of toxicity in this relationship with both wakasa and izana, the intense passion isn't quite the same as it is with izana. instead, feelings of passion are more to the point and driven by pure instinct and desire rather than toxic passion. wakasa seeming like a very literal person, is actually quite mysterious deep down and has a lot (I mean a lot) of hidden desires and kinks that begin to emerge with time. it's rarely a conversation, and more often just something that happens that surprises you. you just have to go with the flow here, and let him take the reigns for once. it might actually be a good opportunity to allow for vulnerability to take the spotlight for once, which is something wakasa is surprisingly in tune with and quite to the point about.
CHIFUYU
- this is something much healthier than the last two. chifuyu, being an enfp is someone that's able to handle this level of intensity in a person while still being able to understand what's really going on.
- call him the trauma counsellor king. he values each and every response to a trigger that you might have. he notices patterns, he makes mental notes of things, and he does this all without making it seem like he's analyzing.
- to be honest he actually loves the spunk you bring on a day to day level. even though most of the time it's driven by bitterness or hate (not always towards him just in general) he is still able to see beyond that and appreciate you for what you are.
- with that being said, chifuyu will not stand for any toxic behaviour towards him. no sir he will not. threats and pushes for fights wont be tolerated, and he will either disengage or try to expose your vulnerabilities in an attempt at forced submission. this can be hard to get used to, especially with having a personality characterized by the inability to accept being vulnerable. but with time chifuyu is one to create a safe space for you to allow yourself to feel emotions beyond anger and resentment, and he encourages this.
- because of this very feelings based approach, intimacy with chifuyu is just that: intimate. he's extremely loving and doting, hoping that his sweetness can rub off on you a little bit. however he's also very accepting of your need for power over him (especially during sex) and will absolutely submit to your needs in order to please you.
- he really likes to put you in a place of pleasure though, so however that may come to you chifuyu is the one to deliver it.
KAZUTORA
- oh boy. this one is a doozy. listen. if we're talking about timeskip kazutora (as is the case with all characters i write about but I feel it especially important to remind ppl of here given his history), we're talking about someone who is quite literally walking on eggshells in terms of his trauma and emotional vulnerability.
- he's pretty good at being emotionally aware of his needs and struggles as well as the needs and struggles of those around him, but that doesn't mean that he's entirely healed or capable of managing toxicity or his triggers. he still slips up from time to time especially when things get hard, and sometimes finds himself falling into his old patterns. after all, he's only human. but this is where things could get messy in a relationship.
- for the most part, like I said, he's pretty good. so let's focus on that part first since I want to give him credit where it's due. he is very desperate for love and dedicated to providing something to his partner. in this case, he will seek to tap into his emotional vulnerability to provide some sort of comfort for you. he wants to see you happy, and calm, because he sees so much of his old self in you that it gets to him sometimes. but at the same time, he struggles with your relentlessness and can become emotionally drained when things get tough. he'll beat himself up for not being good enough to help you, and this is when he'll isolate and fall into old patterns.
- however, akutagawa's personality type isn't all bad. with a s/o like akutagawa, comes an immense amount of protection and loyalty for their loved ones no matter how tough things might be. in this case it might be hard to communicate this, but there will be times when it's needed in order for kazutora to restrain from old habits and ways of dealing with hardships. but he wants to share his healing with you, he wants you to be happy, and more than anything he understands the struggle of wanting to be happy and healthy but being afraid of losing the one thing that makes you you: your attitude and relentlessness. nobody understands this better than kazutora, which is why things between you can get frustrating and very personal for him.
- much like chifuyu, sex is driven towards pleasing you and only you. chifuyu leans more into switch territory however, while kazutora is 100% submissive. in this case it works out well, however he has a lot of boundaries and limitations when it comes to the way in which you function. he doesn't like degradation. instead, he thrives from praise and any sign of love and care. this might be tough for you to execute 100% of the time, but when it comes down to it the way his eyes twinkle for you is enough to make the ice around your heart melt just a little more each time.

ok so like i been Thinkin a lot on that stream techno had today and i may be Thinkin Too Much cuz i was doing psychology while watching but im going to say Words Now
the entire idea and Plot of tommy going from only interacting/being manipulated by dream to only interacting with techno is a Lot. theres a lot here. and i am feasting like a fucking king on the potential of it and what this could all Mean
I think we’re building up the idea of how techno and dream differ and how they house both similarities and extreme differences in their ideals.
So if we considered how Tommy’s arcs have changed theres a very, VERY clear juxtaposition between the exile arc to.... raccoon arc? whatever the fuck is goin on
Tommy Was manipulated, isolated, and gaslit by dream. that was the only guy he really had interacted with and that was Intentional entirely. Its very obvious this will have and currently has an affect on tommy.
Now, he’s with technoblade. theres a lot of shit that can be read in this simply as considered right now. I feel we’re clearly supposed to at least somehow compare dream and technoblade because their positions are somewhat similar concerning how they are interacting with tommy.
Tommy can only really interact with techno, only techno really has the ability to see him (although ranboo, ghostbur, and phil could see him but theres obvious difficulties in their case), and how tommy regards technoblade is.... complicated. like how he regards dream at the moment.
but theres some really, really important and clear differences in this that i think will show a lot about techno’s character and what’s to come
first of all, there’s a question of why techno is seemingly ‘letting’ tommy live with him. No joke, i’ve discussed this a LOT in the technocord and it’s made me realize it from a different perspective since many of those people in there are from Before techno joined the smp.
so, there’s no clear ‘rational’ reason why techno would benefit from teaming with tommy. there’s some arguments that could be made; tommy’s position with people and especially tubbo, using tommy as a bargaining chip with dream, and something else i cant remember. but the technocord hardcore ppl feel tommy is a liability in the long term. techno doesn’t really have much to gain beyond a distraction. the idea of using tommy in order to convince him he’s getting the disks and then to destroy lmanberg is kinda.... its jus more trouble to techno. In fact, it wouldve been defendable for techno to kick him out; he stole his stuff, and we saw how he reacted to his cows being killed, his previous base being pillaged. You’d have thought techno wouldve been angrier.
but like. that aside. there’s little reason for techno to open up to tommy. and thats the point.
there’s no necessity on techno’s part. he doesnt need tommy. he could kick him out easily. but he won’t.
I imagine technoblade sees the trauma and hardship tommy went through and he sympathizes with him. Its been made clear that techno doesnt know the full extent of what happened, but he doesnt need to. he knows enough.
Now, back to the happenings of the last stream,
it wasnt plot heavy at all. (mostly because techno’s fuckign glasses are held together with SCOTCH TAPE the guy couldnt even fucking use ducttape i hate that) but there were a Few interesting things, including the Plot Stream a bit;
the ‘box’ techno made with the idea of hiding tommy from dream. (perhaps a joke but it still shows something i feel)
how he’s been giving tommy a Lot of stuff. he hasnt Genuinely been upset at his golden apples being taken; in fact, techno gave him more food in protest of him eating all the gapples instead of.... demanding them back
went mining in the nether with the intention of getting tommy better stuff
he replaced the log he accidentally stripped. extremely funny considering he got the wrong type of wood but he tried
expending more resources on tommy with invisibility potions so that he wasnt in danger of being seen
Repeatedly would assure tommy that dream Is Not His Friend.
at the idea of tommy being ‘banned’ from the nether and being attacked in lmanberg, techno laughed at the idea of him being ‘attacked’ and killed even when tommy worried that he’d die for the Last Time
implicated that techno WOULD defend him. and the idea of someone killing Either him or tommy was funny because of that
okay so slight comparison to dream; techno is instead GIVING tommy resources instead of blowing them up, he’s obviously intent on protecting him in some way, and he assures tommy that dream is No Good (rather than how dream was telling tommy no one cared about him)
But there’s one instance that was really, really important to me
the control room had a very bad impact on tommy. most likely a panic attack (the shaking, heavy breathing, scattered speech/thought is something i know so intimately lmao) and techno’s reaction to it was extremely interesting.
first, techno said he was ‘freaking out for no reason’ which could be a) techno is horrific at emotions and vulnerability lmao and b) to Him, it Is nothing. he has no clue what tommy had been through.
He repeatedly asked what was wrong. what had happened in that room. He pressed Slightly. but as soon as tommy said he didnt want to talk about that, techno instantly backed off and said its alright. specifically, he said:
“It’s fine, no one recovers in a day tommy. Healing is a long process, it’s fine.”
that shit hit me like a freight train. Mostly i didnt expect anything to come from this stream like that but FUCK LMAO.
The biggest thing is, i think technoblade is going to help tommy heal from the dream shit and get back on his feet.
but also, even though im not entirely sure i need to see more, tommy will get techno to be more caring. We know philza is the only one techno is really close to, and ghostbur as well. both of which either weren’t involved in betraying techno, or doesnt remember it. i see it pointed out that techno is going at tubbo and his government rather than dream, but i think it makes sense.
dream technically hasnt challenged techno’s ideals or what he wants; while tubbo stole from him, used him as a weapon, and reinstated a government despite everything techno was saying.
Tommy took part in betraying him, thats without a doubt. but tommy was also screwed over by the government in place. so techno empathizes with him. maybe they dont fully trust each other, but thats a work in progress. and it will progress to technoblade trusting tommy despite their past, and realizing that dream is in a position of power over Everyone.
tl:dr: tommy is going to heal with techno’s help and full come to terms with/realize what dream did to him, and techno is going to realize he CAN trust people and that dream has been the one pulling the strings all along

I have a number of issues with the narrative and up until this point I had been trying to hold off on discussing them until the very end but this episode really put me in a sharing mood… (post episode 12) These are very loose thoughts and so there may be aspects I didn’t fully point out as I just want to focus on the issues I have with these points.
* Sean & Blacks line of the triangle not fully being explored.
* The lack of support / care for Black
* Gram / Eugene
* Dan
Black - White - Sean is a triangle, each one connecting to the others. Because Sean & Black had an existing relationship that White impacted by sliding into Blacks place, their arcs all intertwine. A bit ago I said we were likely getting to the point where to fully become the White he wants to be he’d have to face Black fully come out of his shadow and shoes and reside in who he is now for their side of the arc to complete - we saw that take place this episode. White taking a stand and choosing himself, choosing his own path and stepping into himself in body and within the gang. Of course this also stamps his line (arc) with Sean as well because stepping into himself, choosing himself and his path meant choosing Sean, walking with Sean. Being brave enough to grab what Sean was offering.
Now the only issue is the Line between Sean & Black was just left wide open, unexplored and unfinished. For the arcs between these characters to reach their end each character’s arc has to meet the other’s in the middle. So for Black to come to a place of accepting White’s choice in walking this path and who he was walking with (Sean) he’d first have to come to terms with Sean (even if begrudgingly). Black is someone who has been betrayed by those hes closes to often, he rarely lets others in and has a cold disposition, and when they betray him he seems to just take it in stride. He’s lived so long for his ideologies and his goals and he strives for them, working harder than anyone to the point where they don’t match what he feels is the standard - he works til he sets the standard. The protection of his brother has been one of the areas we’ve seen him show the most emotional extension. We saw him put effort into ending the relationship between Sean & White with the reasoning that being around him would lead to his brother getting hurt. On the other side of that is Sean who had token Black as the person who gave him the mission on his life that kept him living and driven but who had also betrayed him and not given him any real compassion (which he later finds with Blscks twin brother). Sean in many ways having been number two in the gang under Blacks leadership. So you have two ppl extremely alike both having to had taken care of themselves, living solely for their goals to the point of being willing to die for them. One could argue that these similarities they have are because Sean in some ways co-opted Blacks way of survival. These two men should be able to see & understand eachother better than anyone else except maybe White. There def should be a meeting oin the middle even if begrudgingly because they had an arc that entertained before white even got there.
And the lack of exploration on these part affects other aspects of the story as well. For example Sean’s arc with Dan bounces off his one with Black & White. The confrontation with Dan should not have come at the voice of reason from Gram and Yok neither of these two have a any kind of impact on Sean’s ideologies or who he is as a person - that’s Black and White. Black taught him survival and being driven for the goal by any means necessary be it violence or death (negative space) while White taught him to look for the path of compassion. To seek justice but not at the expense of himself (positive space. So his choice of which is the most justified route should have been contingent on how both of those men grew him and not just some random speak of laws that had never done anything for Sean. And because we didn’t actually get to see him struggle through the right and wrong himself through the concepts that he’s learned on this journey we’ve seen him on, the scene of revelation that took place was lackluster and felt like the buildup didn’t match the outcome. Nor does it feel believable he’s been building this whole time to deal with the men who messed up his life, we have seen him struggle with showing his own close friend mercy when he just wanted to bring in a cop that he knew nothing about into the group and yet he’s so easily dissuaded when confronted with the truth.
Then we have this element where before there was those who care about Black, who seemed to understand his hard shell covered a vulnerable interior. There was talk of how important he was, how he inspired the group even if he was a hardass and yet that narrative disappeared a bit before he awoke and he quickly was presented as the evil doppelgänger. The concept of the supposed closeness he and Gram had was on the backburner as Gram took to back mouthing him any chance he could get, trying to get with the woman he’s in love with and lowkey succeeding. He been betrayed by so many ppl it’s difficult to imagine him and Gram were ever actually close when a lot of Gram dealing with him now just seem like guilt. There’s no wonder to where Black has been this whole time when he finds out that White isn’t Black. He called them his friends this episode but Gumpa knew it wasn’t him in the group and never even went and looked for him. In fact when Black demanded to know why he let his brother into the group (knowing he wouldn’t have liked that) Gumpa tells him they needed ppl and White is better than him. In fact he’s repeatedly being told White is better than him lately. It’s funny - the gang feels like home for White and a battle field for Black. They’re constantly showing and telling us that Black is expendable now. He’s never on missions with them, he’s at odds with them all, none of them care what happened to him. He’s propped up and fails against White in their eyes. They no longer listen to him. He’s still being betrayed by some of those closes to him. He’s almost on the outs. They’re all having a Kiki with White while he’s setting up to face his oldest friend who put him in a coma once & almost killed him a second time, and he’s supposedly doing this to stop Todd from exploiting the gang getting rid of Tawi & sliding into power and doing more harm. He has no support, no team despite his apparent fear that he will lose to Todd again.
And my big issue with this is writing it where suddenly no one cares for Black (except White but who has to walk his own path), where he lacks bonds and none of them is even on the mend, where he’s the energy drainer. Tie that all in with the constant foreshadowing of death and you get a setup that hints the writers want the views to think he’ll end up either villainized (betraying the team) or dead (fighting against Todd). The former is absolutely unbelievable I wouldn’t care what reason they came up with. and the latter would be absolute bullshit and annoying. Black’s death wouldn’t do anything for the story, the themes, or the audience. And while they could pull a bait and switch (killing one twin as a sacrifice for the other - or making you think one is dead while it’s the other) that too would just be pushed in for effect and add nothing of value - even though they’ve made this air that both twins lives are in danger and can die. However them even choosing to lean into this foreshadow so heavily has already impacted Blacks characterization (they’ve been foreshadowing since his wake). To make him seem expendable they had to they had to rip any bonds he did have to shreds, they had to avoid focusing fully on him & exploring his individual complexities. So we still have a very incomplete visual of who Black is, his arcs aren’t fed into as they should be and affects the story because he was a great part of its complexity. Black has been due his own POV episode. Even Sean has been given his own pov slates. To bring their arc to full completion White AND Sean should be seen saving Black. Both of these men are the ones most impacted by Blacks ideology and life - him giving Sean his mission in life save him in its own way, Black had been Whites protector throughout their childhood and then the thing he held on to after their separation and then walking in Black’s shoes had given him a new lens on life, had given him a new life itself. Sean & Black being so much alike should have def been used more in this latter half of the story and not just for the comedy but to evaluate the depth of both men and there really been no set up for them to have that moment yet. While White saving should def be a physical thing to present to his brother that he really has grown, that he can not only take care of himself but like Sean Black can depend on him too. He no longer needs a protector and that’s not just about pain or choice but about ability.
- Understand tho that I don’t say it should end this way because I want it to, as I mentioned in my pre-episode 11 thoughts post the last end really should’ve focused on how this triangle would fall (fractured or United) but because the path they’ve shown this far there is no reason for them to be fractured, unless they just have Black suddenly flip and betray them and that doesn’t make sense thus far. So for a true United triangle arc a returned saving makes the most sense. BlackWhiteSean isn’t the first triangle arc in a story. Beyond Evil’s two protagonists & the father were the main frame triangle. Or the Brothers and the female protagonists in Its Okay to Not be Okay. In both stories each character had to deal and absolve their issues with eachother to fully complete their character arcs and that’s what should’ve happened with SeanWhiteBlack. The more in-depth the more fulfilling it would be.
The GramEugene thing is just a mess, it made a mess of things and was pointless thus far. Black dating Eugene at all was already madness. A man so driven in his goals who doesn’t trust ppl and walks alone and keeps secret opening himself for a relationship he knows he’s gonna have to end. They really would’ve needed to be written into a crucible because it’s more believable he would’ve intentionally avoided her. But they proceed to give him an outright gf and then add another level to the bs by having Gram in love with her too. Worse of all she’s not in the group, she’s not in the main frame of the story and so to even deal with this arc we have to go away from the main story arcs. It pulls focus from the main story not add to it. To build up that twist they had to waste a lot of view time and it was all for nothing because who actually cares if Gram likes this girl? It’s just another thing taken from Black for no reason. Going this route gutting any depth from Grams character as well. Instead of them focusing on what Gram stood for - those who may not have big reasons to fight the system but still chooses to do so anyway because they believe in the good of the people, we instead get to just watch him chase his supposed best friends ex, bad mouthing him, and not showing any care for him much at all. Going this route he loses his reason of being and we just watch a bunch of scene that could’ve been cut to give focus to something more important.
I’m not even gonna talk about Dan yet… but Dan and also that scene with him and Sean 🙃

Is Nie Mingjue a heavily misunderstood character or not ? Sorry my question is a little bit vague .
Don't worry, I think I know what you mean ^^
Now, I wouldn't say that he is heavily misunderstood bc, for starters, he's not that popular a character (which personally hurts my soul bc I love him So Much), and secondly, we aren't given a lot about him in canon. At face value, at least.
That's not to say that he isn't misundertood, but I'd argue that it is more of a... simplification of his character. It's very easy to see him and fall for just the gruff, angry man whose entire personality is shouting and Saber and Killing Wens. Mxtx herself presented him as such in a way, when telling us how JGY couldn't find anything to use against him, bc well... those things previously mentioned were all there was, apparently.
But I think that, just with the man himself, there's a lot more we can get by looking at his actions than with what the story tells us directly.
He loves his brother, thats's one thing. Confirmed by the author even. And I have to state this bc I have seen ppl call him abusive bc of how he treats NHS, but we have to see things from his perspective. This is a man who knows he is going to die young, who had to step up and be a sect leader and guardian to his brother when he was still a teen. Who had to be diplomatic with the man who killed his father and all the other leaders who did nothing about it (if they even believed him). Is it really so surprising that he wouldn't waste time in anything other than becoming the strongest the can be and preparing his brother to succeed him? A little brother that, to him, is not even trying to get involved or help with what could very easily be his entire responsibility one day.
(Also the fact that you don't go on a decade long revenge plot for a brother you don't love. So yeah, Niebros loved each other, you can't change my mind).
He didn't try to get married and have his own descendants after the war bc I think it would have been obvious to him by then that he cultivated too much, he accelerated the inevitable and leaving a widow and a small child would have only been extra responsibility to NHS.
And yet he tried to get better. He let the man he didn't trust anymore treat his terminal illness bc he didn't lose hope that he could at least buy himself some more time to prepare NHS and protect the Unclean Realm bc the world post-SSC was still very much fucked up and in JGS' hands and (again) no one else seemed to care.
NMJ had one of the strongest moral codes of the entire cast, so much so that it would be easy to call it black and white, but damn if that at least made him one of the very few characters you would always know where you stood with. He was as reliable as they come.
Of course, he was far from perfect. He had his biases and even his privilege blinding him to some extent. Like his determination to wipe out all the Wen, regardless of their involvement or lack thereof in the war. Just bc he would have rather die fighting than staying in his line and survive and help as he could, doesn't mean everybody else would or even should have. As rightful and honorable as he is, he is also convinced that there is only one way to do things right and I think we can all agree that that is objectively incorrect, if at least more commendable than not doing anything at all.
In the end, I definitely think that there is more to NMJ than meets the eye. He was a paladin of justice and tried his best to uphold it according to the standards of society. He was brave to the point of it costing it his life bc he refused to give in to JGS' unilaterally decided reign, and was actively the only significant political opposition the Jin had post-war. He dedicated all he had to his sect and his brother even if his interpersonal skills didn't allow for better communication there. He was willing to give the benefit of the doubt to someone who made all the alarms go off in his head bc of what he meant to him in the past and what he meant to LXC in the present. He was there to defend anyone with a righteous claim like the Chang clan when literally no one else cared. And all this while dealing with a degenerative and debilitating mental illness he couldn't let anyone outside of his circle know of.
He was one of the strongest, most honest characters. Not without his flaws, but a better person than many others, and I fully support how avenging him is literally the backbone of the entire story and the reason we have mdzs in the first place.

actually, it's a pretty common theory. a lot of shippers basically don't want jaime to die and brienne to live because they said and i quote, "if jaime dies, brienne will be alone." they're overestimating jaime's importance and undermining how much of a catch brienne is. sorry if i sounded rude btw, i just thought you'd hate that theory too. and it is more common than you think. just look at the way all those ppl started theorizing that show!brienne would be pregnant with rejection baby
there's nothing wrong with implying that a single mom would take care of her kid after her baby daddy dies. but there is something fucked up in the idea that she apparently can't find someone better and has to be alone and unloved for the rest of her life. Jb shippers always say that love is an important part of brienne's story, but they actually only want her to be loved by jaime and have no issue throwing her under the bus to validate their ship.
siiigh okay let's do this. "a lot of shippers basically don't want jaime to die and brienne to live because they said and i quote, "if jaime dies, brienne will be alone." JB fans are shippers. they like Jaime and Brienne together, and do not want one half of their ship to die. so far so good: this does not strike me as offensive. I also think JB shippers are likely right in thinking that if Jaime were to die, Brienne will be both A) unhappy! and B) lonely! she's a character who has longed for love and has feared she'll never have it. Jaime is introduced as the character who will contradict that notion and love her as she loves him. there's this sort of... extended bit in ASOS where grrm kind of explores why they're that special fit for each other, it's pretty good. lots of soulmate imagery going on, etc etc. so you know, Jaime's death is kind of a... sad ending for Brienne. life certainly goes on, and hey, the story may well end like that, but it doesn't seem all that radical to me that some JB/Brienne fans might dislike that as the conclusion to her story and theorise that maybe, Jaime might live. "they're overestimating jaime's importance and undermining how much of a catch brienne is." they're overestimating Jaime's importance.... to whom exactly? to Brienne? the woman who thinks about him like... every couple of pages in AFFC? should we assume that actually, Jaime's death is no biggie for her, even though she has nightmares about him dying, even though she literally tried to die for him in her last chapter, even despite this constant refrain that goes 'I'm meant to protect him'? and I'm sorry, where do JB fans undermine 'how much of a catch Brienne is'? the whole point of JB is that Brienne is a catch lmao, and that Jaime, so far, is the only character who's actually opened his eyes and seen that. does that mean JB/Brienne fans believe Brienne can never be loved again post-Jaime? no. it probably just means that, as people invested in the characters and relationship of Jaime and Brienne, they are not super interested in waving off Jaime's death as 'shit happens' and moving onto exploring the relationship of Brienne and some character who does not exist in the story.
GRRM has done a lot of work explaining why Jaime and Brienne fit together. nobody is super interested in talking about how a similar relationship might play out with a stranger offscreen. "just look at the way all those ppl started theorizing that show!brienne would be pregnant with rejection baby" I saw those theories. nobody wanted it to happen. there were just some fans who, seeing how badly the show had already treated Brienne, thought there was every chance D&D might do still worse by her in the final episode. "but there is something fucked up in the idea that she apparently can't find someone better and has to be alone and unloved for the rest of her life." like I mentioned, I imagine what you're talking about has less to do with 'nobody else could ever love Brienne and she must be alone' and more to do with... no-one really being especially interested in exploring a relationship that takes place offscreen with a character who doesn't currently exist. but besides that, you will always find shippers who feel character A could never truly love again after the death of character B, particularly where the 'soulmate stuff' is played as hard as it is with JB. this strikes me less as offensive and misogynistic and more just the way people feel about their ships. I had a Renly/Loras fan basically tell me the same a couple months back when I suggested that perhaps Loras might find someone else post-canon, because they couldn't fathom Loras loving again after Renly. this didn't strike me as uncharitable to Loras, but just the strength of their feeling for the ship, and the strength of the love they read into it. and GRRM even sort of supports the idea with Loras' line "When the sun has set, no candle can ever replace it." perhaps this is the grief talking, or perhaps this is true for Loras. personally, I like to think everyone can love again after the death of a partner, but I don't think it's an offensive reading for someone invested in the ship to believe that Jaime was Brienne's great love and "no candle can ever replace it." it has nothing to do with thinking she has to be alone and celibate forever without him. it is simply their reading of Jaime and Brienne's relationship and how Brienne's grief might manifest, you're free to disagree with it if you like.
"Jb shippers always say that love is an important part of brienne's story, but they actually only want her to be loved by jaime"
JB shippers are only invested in Jaime and Brienne because theirs is the romance the story is exploring. they are two characters whose stories are about love, explored via the other. like, I'm sorry, are we supposed to just get on with shipping Brienne x Ser Not-Appearing-In-This-Story? what is your actual issue here?

So I saw somewhere a post that talked about how some fictional characters just have a divorce vibe going on, like, at no point in time were they ever married but they just give off that feeling that they got divorced
And now I can only think of Clark Kent and Lex Luthor having that vibe
And I spent close to an hour talking about this to my sibling and how it would be a good idea for a new DC show like, you can make so much money off of just the main Batfam alone and there are literally so many people in there that it’s just an amazing idea to have them all in a show together but kind of like a Good Luck Charlie kinda thing because there’s more than enough angst in the world
But in the case of not having enough of a budget for so many characters in one show I turned to the Superfam (Batfam is Huge like, I don’t even know half of the extended family version and that’s like at least ten characters so I could see why it wouldn’t be entirely feasible to have a show that included everyone while still being good with nice character development without having a billion dollars for the budget)
The Superfam, in my personal experience, is composed of Ma & Pa Kent (farm vibes plus I refuse to have either of them die in my AU), Clark Kent (main Superman), Lois Lane (Lana? was Smallville Lois i guess??? But idk enough about her so she’s not here), Jon Kent (Superboi II), Kara Danvers (Supergirl) & Conner Kent (Superboi I)
Now I’ve stopped watching CW shows like, forever ago??? But my brother kinda keeps up with them and basically the gist is that the ratings of every other show suck Except for the Superman & Lois show (because it’s 💫new💫) and I saw the cover of the poster like “Ah, the werewolf dude. . . mmmhhmmm that’s Lois yes, yes that’s Johnny boi, and um is that???? Nooooo, they wouldn’t do that to Conner right???? Please tell me they didn’t make Conner blonde” and I was informed that the blonde teen is Chris???? Like
Whoms’t do ye speak of
I’m not even joking but the only way I even know of Chris is from a random fanfic I read where Dick Grayson gets his own super from an alternate reality named Chris, that’s my only point of reference for this character
But let’s talk about how Conner Kent (OG Superboi) was excluded
Now I haven’t seen any episodes of this and I probably never will (no hate I’m just really unmotivated to start new shows at all) so idk if they might mention Conner or even allude to him in one scene or something
But this was my main motivator as to my new Superfam TV Show Idea
Have Lex Luthor not be a Superman villain, he’s mainly a successful businessman, a little shady but who isn’t, and he doesn’t want to Kill Superman, he just wants to be able to have some sort of viable protection against a Kryptonian in case of an invasion (see Man of Steel + CW’s Supergirl) or suddenly having a mind controlled Superman on their hands (see Justice League series or just look up what Red Krytonite does) so he makes it like his side thing to figure out ways to neutralize or hold back a Kryptonian, Clark totally thinks that Lex is obsessed with finding a way to kill Superman because they had a bad end to their friendship in high school so he’s always suspicious of Lex, Lex hasn’t really ever tried to kill him though because 1. It’s not that deep Clark ok? And 2. He’s a busy busy man with a very important job position and a company to run so does he look like he has time to harbor an obsession over someone who rejected him back in high school??? You’re more of a constant side quest Clark, so stop trying to put him on the JL watchlist ( btw ik about Lena Luthor, haven’t forgotten her but she doesn’t really play a part in this AU so let’s just have her and Kara off to the side doing their own thing ok? Ok)
Lex, Bruce & Oliver all knew each other when they were kids and went to the same school, this is just an extra detail I wanted to happen because Lex and Ollie definitely know Bruce is Batman and absolutely HATE having to deal with Brucie Wayne because “I know you’re just doing this to irritate me Bruce, you just want to see if you can make a vein throb in my forehead but I will valiantly ignore your dumbassery because I know you hate being Brucie just as much as we hate having to put up with Brucie so suck on that you petty bitch” because they bonded in ye olden days, childhood friends so to speak
Anyway so Cadmus tries to get Lex to make an investment in their company, seeing as Cadmus is shadier than Gotham when it rains Lex is basically like ‘no ❤️’ and doesn’t make a deal with them, Cadmus gets mad at not having Lexcorp financially backing them so Lex has an ‘accident’ and they steal his DNA, then they steal Superman’s DNA somehow and *boom* a Superboi is formed
Because I don’t know much about how the Core Four became friends in the first place (Robin Tim Drake, Impulse Bart Allen, Wonder Girl Cassie Sandsmark & Superboy Conner Kent) I’m just gonna go with what happens in the show Young Justice except it’s the Core Four becoming the Core Four when they liberated Conner (who at this point believes himself to be a clone of Superman and has only been given Superboy as a name) from Cadmus, same shit goes down meaning that Clark is just straight up NOT vibing with Conner, Conner just wants a mentor please, and the Bats kinda give Clark a passive aggressive treatment for not taking Superboy under his wing or at least agreeing to teach him how to control his powers, especially Tim because that’s his Bestie so yes
Anyway, YJ saves ppl and is on the news or whatever and Lex finds out about Superboy’s existence that way, so he researches this new super on his free time, finds out that he came from Cadmus and claims to be a clone of Superman, yet doesn’t have the whole power set Superman has??? Wait, didn’t Lex reject Cadmus’ proposal and the got into a mysterious accident??? Long story short Lex goes connecting the dots, hacks into Cadmus’ files, finds out he technically has a son with Superman and decides to take Superboy under his wing (I’ll go more in depth as to why Lex would want to do this in this AU later but the abridged version would be that he wants a kid but doesn’t have the time nor interest in finding a wife??? Also the radiation that made him bald as a kid also affected his reproductive system so while it’s not impossible for him to conceive kids he would have a very hard time actually getting to father a kid)
Him and Conner, who still goes by Superboy at this point in time, meet up and Conner finds out that here is a parent figure that is both available and actively wants to be a part of his life, so he agrees to get to know Lex and the series would focus on them becoming a family, with a special episode when Conner asks Lex for help in choosing a name for himself and it ends up with him agreeing to become Conner Luthor, it would be heartwarming and Mercy would make sure it happens within a day (Mercy is Lex’s bodyguard/PA but they’re also besties and she becomes the Responsible yet Chaotic Aunt as Lex and Conner’s father-son relationship progresses)
Obviously Clark becomes super suspicious of Lex getting close to his ‘clone’ and when Conner decides to go public as Lex’s son he’s like *GASP* and calls up Bruce because we need to get on this Bruce, Lex is a villain and blah blah blah but Bruce would be over Clark’s shit and hit him with that “actually, Lex was also an unwilling genetic donor to Superboy, who actually is not your clone either, and has agreed to take him in, I’ve been on this shit since they first met and the kid is doing just fine so if you keep poking your nose in their business then that’s your problem but you better be ready to pay child support bitch . . . have a good day ❤️”
The series would just focus on Conner getting to have a good parent figure in Lex and go more into their civilian lives rather than focusing on the superhero thing, Conner, Bart, Tim & Cassie have a sleepover at Lex’s house at one point, Lex totally Knows what’s up but it’s all good because these are his baby’s friends and they’re good people who are more than willing to prank Superman for rejecting his kid and giving his baby self worth issues (Mercy supports them)
Anyway, that’s basically the idea for a new Superhero Show
