You were never close with Yang Jungwon - you shared less than four classes together excluding homeroom, and you only occasionally saw him in the hallways or in the cafeteria. Still, from the little time of knowing him, you’re more than confident enough to conclude that Jungwon is someone with comfort in everything that he does. His eyes are always round with hope, and he’s the embodiment of hard work and kindness. You don’t need to be friends with him to feel safe in his presence.

He usually hung out with your seniors, particularly Lee Heeseung, who you were sure he saw as someone that resembled an older brother to him. You could recall the times you walked by the nearest ice cream stall in your school and saw Heeseung give Jungwon a cone before fondly messing with his hair. Sim Jaeyun often joined the pair when he had time outside studying for math competitions and playing in your school’s football team. Still, when he didn’t, you’d notice Jungwon quietly doing his homework (or tutoring Nishimura Rika who you were sure was younger than you) while Jake trained for his competitions at the same table.

Aside from the people he hung out with and the fact that he was your responsible class president, you would say you didn’t know much about him aside from these few things you were sure everyone knew as well.

Yang Jungwon was a beloved classmate, and everyone wanted to be friends with him. He was someone with the sweetest smile despite having had to turn down numerous confessions sent his way – he always let them down easily, even going as far as apologizing.

So, with all things considered, you’re not quite sure why your school’s most loved student had taken the time to give you a potted plant at 7 in the morning while you were cramming to study for a test you had in the afternoon.

The ringing of the school bell and the swarm of students walking into the classroom are enough to pull you out of your thoughts for the moment.

Jungwon walks back to his table, not before showing a triumphant smile and adding a small skip in his step as he takes his seat. Your classmates walk into the room, unaware of the exchange you had with your class president just a few minutes ago. If they knew, they’d be teasing the both of you immediately and you were sure that every time you were in a 6-mile radius with Jungwon, they would push that awkward atmosphere that teasing brings towards the pair of you. Maybe that’s why Jungwon gave it to you when no one was around yet.

Did he want to be friends with you?

You push the thought back as you see your teacher walk into the classroom. In the meantime, everything falls back to the way they were with Jungwon organizing his notes and his stacks of colored pens and you trying to continue your procrastination.

Unbeknownst to you, for the rest of the class, Jungwon couldn’t do anything but stare at you. He’s unable to truly pay attention in class (he didn’t really have to, he had done advance reading on today’s topic a few weeks ago and knew more about the lesson than half of the class), constantly trying to subtly look at your seat that’s a few tables behind his.

He couldn’t wait to tell Heeseung hyung of his successful first step.

The hallway of your school is so so loud as the bell rings for lunch period.

Everyone around you is talking, crowded together with their friends.

It’s almost ironic how since Jungwon had given you the star cactus - which you had kept with you for all your classes in the morning and was now resting in your hands as you try to hold it while opening your locker - you’ve felt as if you were floating in space. While everyone was down on Earth, laughing so so loud, you were stuck in a daze.

“Why’d you bring a cactus to school?”

Your eyes snap towards the direction of your best friend, Kim Sunoo, who’s eyeing the plant you’re holding in your hand. He silently takes it in his hands as he motions for you to properly open your locker and get the things you need.

You didn’t notice when he arrived next to you, but Sunoo always found his way to you as you did to him in every free period you had together.

“Funny thing is Yang Jungwon actually gave that to me this morning.”

Sunoo blinks at you as if he doesn’t believe what you’re saying. “Yang Jungwon? Like your cute class president who hangs out with Heeseung and Jake. That Jungwon?”

“No, I’m talking about Jungwon from math class, yes that Jungwon! There’s no other Jungwon in this school, idiot.” You smack him with the book you had taken out from your locker and he gasps dramatically at your actions, feigning offense almost immediately.

“Is that Yang Jungwon teaching you to disrespect your seniors? You owe me ice cream after class for hitting me with your book.” Sunoo returns the plant he’s been keeping safe for you in exchange for the books you’re carrying in your hands. He pretends as if it’s so much work carrying your books even though he was the one who took them in the first place.

You roll your eyes, knowing there was no getting out of treating Sunoo. He would find you in each of the seven circles of hell just to get you to keep your word of treating him. It didn’t help that his favorite ice cream shop was usually packed with people and the lines were always endless. Still, opposite to you, Sunoo was patient with the things he wanted.

He usually preaches patience to you when you complain about the line not even two minutes after you arrived at the shop.

“You think he likes you?” Your best friend prods, poking at your side as he wiggles his eyebrows teasingly. “I don’t think Yang Jungwon’s ever done anything like this for anyone before.”

“Oh, shut up. He was probably just being nice like he usually is.”

“Hmm.. sure. Or he just likes you. I’m willing to bet two tubs of ice cream.” Your face feels hot when he says that, hands clammy when you press them together against your cheeks.

“You sure you’re willing to bet two tubs of ice cream? That’s pretty expensive, you know.” You grip the plant tighter as you walk through the crowd of students in the hallway, keeping your voice low – you don’t know why you feel like everyone can hear you, including Jungwon, when you’re talking about him.

“I can afford it if I’m wrong, but I’m never wrong.” Sunoo has a smirk on his face as he runs a hand through his black hair. Last week it was pink, you wondered what color he’d choose next week. You knew he was going to let you sit with him in the salon as he got his hair done anyway, so you didn’t think about it too much.

As the two of you walk towards the cafeteria, he chats your ears off about the classes he had this morning when you begged him to stop talking about Jungwon, so he talks about his morning; about Miss Lee being a “psycho for giving a project this early in the second semester”, about how someone forgot to return his tangerine-colored marker during an art activity, and about Park Sunghoon who he shared a class with since your best friend took Advanced Biology.

Kim Sunoo is someone you feel the most human with. You wish you could capture every moment spent with him in a photo, just to remember everything by. And as you and Sunoo take your seats at your usual table, a pair of eyes follow you from the other side of the cafeteria.

“Heeseung hyung, she still has the star cactus I gave her this morning.” Jungwon’s smile is warm as he excitedly swings his legs back and forth at their table, taking a bite from the packed lunch his grandmother prepared for him. “Do you think she has me figured out already?”

Jungwon chews at his lips nervously, looking up at his senior who’s trying to cram the Physics homework he had forgotten to make the night before because he had to overtime in work.

“Won, you’re genuinely a good person. I’m sure she thought you were just being nice as usual.” Heeseung’s words make Jungwon pout.

Even though he didn’t want you to know he had a crush on you quite yet, he also wanted to leave you a few hints and let you know that you were the only person in this school he had given a plant from his garden for (aside from his Jake hyung who he had given basil for his birthday).

As he grumpily finishes his food, Heeseung can’t help but laugh at the cute young boy seated in front of him. “What’s so special about her, Wonie? How come this is the first time I’m hearing about you having a crush?”

Jungwon sighs out dreamily, setting his utensils down as he rests his chin on the palms of his hands, fingers digging at his soft cheeks. “Hyung, she’s just an exhalation of beautiful ideas.”

Yang Jungwon thinks he’s lucky to have witnessed the brilliance of your existence. You speak about life in a way Jungwon has never heard of before, and he admires the way your mind works. Your thoughts and ideas are always so impactful, and he finds himself drawn to the way you carry yourself. You’re sweet, although reserved towards the people you aren’t close to – sometimes he envies Sunoo for having so easily navigated his way in your heart.

He didn’t always know he had a crush on you. It was only when you were working on a group project together and you had smiled at him and commended him for his good work on the presentation did he finally understand what it meant to admire someone so deeply.

Ever since that day, Jungwon has felt nervous around you, to the point that he feels it’s hard to breathe.

He will take staring at you in passing periods as you laugh with Sunoo as small accomplishments at concealing his feelings, but a hard talk with his Jake hyung, while he was at the library, made him realize that time is so fleeting and short to not make a move on something that genuinely makes you happy – which is how Jungwon found himself in his garden on a Sunday evening, asking his grandmother if he could take a star cactus.

His grandmother smiles knowingly.

This is what Jungwon’s heart feels like. It doesn’t have to be complicated. It is in the simplicity and easiness of walking through the garden with his grandmother and giving the potted plant to you the next morning.

“Sounds like you like her a lot. Good luck, kid.” Heeseung smiles fondly at Jungwon who is politely cleaning the table from any spillage of his food or water before packing up his lunch containers back in the big backpack he wears around but doesn’t really need.

“I really do.” Jungwon is naturally shy in the way he’s pursuing his feelings, something he has never really done before, but the thought of the smile you had given him earlier this morning is enough for him to brave through the unknown of feelings and liking someone for the first time.

Life is about surprises, right?

He’ll take the encouraging words from his seniors and your smile as good enough motivation to continue his pursuit. He wonders what he should give you next.

Jungwon’s grandmother arrives from the market ten minutes after he had arrived home. She gives him a kiss on the forehead as she greets him, placing cartons of milk inside the refrigerator and the rest on the counter for Jungwon to help with.

He tells her a little about his day, skipping over how he had given you a homegrown plant the day prior in favor of talking about the test he did well on. Although, he doesn’t exactly get away with it.

His grandmother prides herself on a lot of things – like knowing when her grandson is hiding something from him. She can’t help it, and almost immediately as she brings it up, Jungwon crumbles and tells her about everything. He talks about you and how every step he takes near you makes him dizzy because you are so beautiful that he cannot fathom ever being part of your circle.

This is how Jungwon finds himself back in the garden, trailing behind his grandmother.

“What reminds you of her?”

Jungwon’s grandmother’s voice cuts through the silence of the garden as they walk side by side with each other. This is her favorite time of day, spending time with her grandson as they walk around the place she loved the most.

Her garden gives her a sense of constancy. She knows when each plant will bloom, and she takes in pride how she had watched Jungwon grow up from a little boy to the handsome teen he is right now.

She smiles to herself as she thinks how much time has gone by – Jungwon used to ask her questions about shapes in this garden, and now he was asking what plant he should give to the girl he likes.

“When I think about her, I think of… strawberries. She smells a lot like strawberries.” He bites his lips to suppress the smile that’s slowly forming on his face as he stops and peers down at the strawberries he was growing with his grandmother. They’re bright red, cozily hanging from green stems.

“She must smell nice then.” No more words are exchanged as his grandmother starts picking strawberries, placing them carefully in the empty container that Jungwon was carrying around. “Come on now, I’m not the one confessing, right?” His grandmother teases as she pushes Jungwon to harvest the strawberries.

“I’m not confessing yet! Although, I’m not quite sure how to… if I do confess, which I won’t be doing yet.” He fumbles with his own words as he bends down to collect the ripe strawberries.

He learned from his grandmother how to do this. The way you get it is important, it will determine whether you’ve damaged some part of the strawberry or not. So, you must grasp at the stem between your forefinger and thumbnail before lightly pulling and twisting at the same time. You let the berry roll into the palm of your hand before gently placing the fruit in a container.

This is what Jungwon does as he tells his grandmother about his day, her eyes fondly analyzing him as he speaks with so much comfort and warmth. He talks about you so highly. You must be so wonderful, his grandmother thinks. She can’t wait to meet you.

“The trick to confessing is to just be consistent. You’ll always reach your end destination if you put in enough effort and progress into it. You can do it, Won. You’re so worthy of the love you look for inside others.”

Jungwon repeats his grandmother’s words as he returns to your desk early in the morning a few days later with a container of strawberries in his hands. It scorched his fingers as he reaches out to give it to you.

It was a strange sight, Jungwon being the one to give something to anyone that wasn’t Jake or Heeseung. However, no one really comes to school as early as you and he does – so no one gets to find pleasure in seeing the strange yet funny sight of a shy Jungwon and an oblivious you.

His unconventional gifts pull a smile on your face, and he finds himself mirroring your expression. He pockets the accomplishment to tell his Heeseung hyung later. “They’re strawberries.”

“I can see that.” You laugh a little, scanning the cute Hello Kitty container he had used to put the fruits in. “These look really nice, Jungwon.” A blush runs down his neck as he nods his head. “I harvested them from my garden. My grandma taught me how to pick the best ones.”

You look down at the fruit, its bright red color, and fresh-looking green caps reflecting under the natural light of the sun peeking through the windows.

“I didn’t know you had a garden.”

You smile at the picture of him growing vegetables and fruits and herbs. He grins sweetly at you in return as he nods his head proudly, eyes drifting from the strawberries to you. The sun hit you really nice – does it rise just to greet you a good morning?

“Jungwon, I can’t accept all of these.” You’re too shy to keep the whole container of strawberries (they were a lot in number, almost overflowing the container). You look up at him, extending the container as you did with the star cactus a few days ago.

He shakes his head before mirroring his actions days prior and pushing it back to you. “Keep it. In case you feel hungry during class.”

“Thank you, Jungwon.” He gives you a smile, soft and subtle before he bows down and walks back to his seat. He gives himself a pat on the back.

During your lunch break, Sunoo finishes half of the strawberries Jungwon had given you.

When you return the container to him after class, you fail to notice how Heeseung playfully nudges at his side and gives him a thumbs-up, or the staring eyes from the students around you, or the way his cheeks turned pink when your hand brushed against his.

The next week, Jungwon gives you a basket of lemons.

Kim Sunoo is overwhelmed with Jungwon’s determination as he half-jokes that you should just see where this goes – you’re getting free groceries out of it, anyway, and he’s getting free fruits.

His comment earns him a smack in the arm.

However, all he does is return a knowing look and a teasing smile as his gaze travels towards where Jungwon’s leaning against his locker with his usual crowd. He looks deep in conversation as he fiddles with his fingers.

Much like Jungwon’s grandmother, Kim Sunoo prides himself in just knowing. And he knows that Jungwon undeniably has the biggest crush on you and you might just reciprocate these feelings as well.

He can tell from the way you instantly look for Jungwon in every room you walk into (even if it’s unintentional). He can tell from the way you smile at him in greeting in the hallways before fixating your gaze on the floor. He can tell from the way you deny all these, refusing to be one of the girls who admire Jungwon and ultimately getting rejected in the end.

When you follow your gaze to where Sunoo’s looking, you find yourself instantly locking eyes with Jungwon. It’s too late for you to look away and pretend you didn’t get caught when he sends a small wave in your direction.

You smile at him before lifting the little picnic basket he had given you and bowing yet again in thanks. He sends you a thumbs up, dimples popping in his cheeks.

Jungwon wants to confess so bad, but he doesn’t know what to say. There are too many things, feelings, that are difficult to describe. He feels a lot like a stitch that has come loose. When you pull at a loose thread, there is a danger that more stitches will come loose. This is how Jungwon feels about addressing his feelings. He is afraid that a confession would lead to rejection, one stitch after another coming loose.

How can he tell you if there’s a risk of the hem falling free and all the stitches he had built from himself unraveling?

He pulls himself together. Uncertainty and surprises are what make life worth living, they’re what makes feelings worth having. They’re eventually what’s going to make you worth having if the universe decided to be nice and didn’t give him rejection.

Still, Jungwon didn’t necessarily have a crush on you just to be with you. He liked your brilliance, your ideas, every little detail about you. It would be more than enough to be considered your friend.

He thinks, wouldn’t it be nice to get ice cream with you or let you visit his little garden back at home? He knows his grandmother would love you. He could only hope you were interested enough in him to want him as your friend too.

Similarly, though, you were having a crisis of your own.

You’re unsure of how Jungwon feels about you, and it would be embarrassing to assume feelings that might not even be there in the first place. But then you think of his unorthodox gifts, and how he has given you probably one-sixteenth worth of homegrown plants from his garden, and you’re left to wonder if there was a greater meaning behind all this.

You remember jokingly telling him that you didn’t want his grandmother to be mad at you, in which he replied that she actually liked you a lot and encouraged him to gift you fresh fruits and vegetables.

You remember smiling all the way home after he had told you that. In the same way, Jungwon couldn’t stop smiling as he waited for Heeseung to finish his work; seated on the counter with his legs swinging back and forth and a cone of ice cream in his hand.

“Hey, Jungwon!” You try to catch your breath as you catch up to his fast pace of walking. In your hand is the basket he had given you a day prior. “I just wanted to return this to you.”

He takes the basket for you, thanking you in the process but you retaliate by thanking him instead. “I really hope these aren’t going to waste. I feel bad you’re so casually giving me these when they must take so long to grow.”

Jungwon reassures you that that’s not the case.

“Don’t worry about it, _____. I like giving these to you.” You smile at him, something you found yourself doing a lot in his presence. How was navigating through your heart so easy to him?

“We still have plenty more in the garden, anyway. Plenty more I’d be more than happy to give you.” You don’t catch the underlying meaning of his statement. Instead, you thank him before excusing yourself and running towards your clubroom to avoid being scolded for being late.

It isn’t difficult to accept your feelings for Jungwon.

You knew you always had them, tucked away and safely kept from everyone around you. So, as you stare at the tomatoes he had given you early this morning, you knew you had a lot to do to give back his sweetness.

You might not be sure of his feelings for you, but it wasn’t a bad thing reciprocating his acts of kindness.

Two weeks since he had given you a star cactus, you softly call his name on another Monday morning, patting the empty space beside you. Jungwon doesn’t get what you’re trying to do at first until you point at his seat and back at the space next to you.

Jungwon’s mouth forms an “ooooh” and you can almost hear the exact sound coming from his lips as he silently drags his seat before placing it beside yours, sitting down and staring at you as if waiting for you to do something.

Jungwon would never tell you how his hands feel clammy and how his heart rate significantly sped up at being so close to you.

You break into a huge grin. “Look what I have.”

He recognizes the clementines as you pull them out of your bag. “I just kind of wanted to share these with you this morning.”

A lot of tension Jungwon was feeling disappears as his eyes visibly turn into crescents. It was odd, how you were the one bringing fruits this time, but he appreciates the gesture nonetheless.

You slowly unwrap the clementine, skin peeling back like it was made for that. You wordlessly pass him a slice as you casually talk about the coming day and how you were dreading the Chemistry test you had this afternoon.

Jungwon hums as he happily listens to you, wordlessly taking the slice from you as he chews on it. Your fingers are a little sticky from the fruit as you continue to peel it back, popping a slice in your mouth before handing him one.

You share the clementine piece by piece – mirroring the little ways Jungwon has tried to show you his appreciation. From a star cactus to strawberries, to lemons and tomatoes. You continue to complain about the heat, and Jungwon listens, grabbing a clementine to peel for you as well.

“I didn’t know the market would be so crowded in the morning.”

A simple comment like this catches Jungwon’s attention. “You went to the market this morning?”

“Of course I did. I had to make sure the clementines I bought for us were fresh and good. Although, I’m not as skilled as you in picking the good ones. I, uh, I hope I did a pretty good job though.”

You can see the way he grows more and more flustered each time a word leaves your mouth. His cheeks are unbearably red, and he doesn’t understand why the thought of you going to the market before school just to get clementines to eat with him before homeroom has his heart leaping and his stitches loosening up, one after the other.

“You really didn’t have to do that.” You shake your head, passing him another slice. “I wanted to, Jungwon.”

His heart warms at the fact that you probably enjoy your little moments together just as much as he does. Maybe his feelings weren’t so unreciprocated after all. Jungwon looks at you as you continue to peel the clementines, separating them piece by piece.

“Maybe next time we can go to the market together?” He brings his hand to the back of his head to scratch it nervously.

He had never seen you outside of school before, and he was always too shy to take initiative – maybe you were busy, maybe you didn’t want to hang out with him outside of school. Your friendship was nothing more than him giving you homegrown fruits and vegetables, and you thanking him for it. Still, he tries. There was nothing wrong in trying.

“So… So I can teach you which ones you should buy. I’m pretty good at that.” Jungwon continues, playing with the piece of clementine you had given him. He had hoped one visit at the market would turn into many other visits, preferably in different parts of the city, maybe his own garden.

You have a feeling you understand the hidden meaning in his words.

“Is tomorrow a good time?”

He turns to you with wide eyes, almost immediately breaking into a smile as he nods his head. Nothing has ever felt so perfect or right.

“Tomorrow couldn’t be any more perfect.”

he’s the avatar of pride sure, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t give out compliments

in fact seeing you feeling proud of your own work or whatever you’ve accomplished makes him feel proud too

he says things like “good job. i know you worked hard on that.” so not entirely direct but it’s nice to hear

if it’s something you’ve been telling him about constantly though and then show it off to him once you’re happy with it? his heart warms and he makes sure to actually say it outloud this time

♡ thank you for letting me write girls aaa i chose to do some as first date hc. it was kinda hard to keep jirou’s gn because i wanted to reference wlw stereotypes but i succeeded in gender-neutral because i want everyone to be able to enjoy

↠you hear me??? arcade!! date!! ideal man, right here, someone claim him immediately or else i will be forced to take ownership

↠he’s super laid back and chill, pretty childish at heart. he only means the best, though, so i think an arcade is exactly what he would go for when taking you on a date! he doesn’t have a lot of money but still wants you to go home with something to remember the date by

↠he buys like $50 worth of tokens and splits it between the two of you, making sure that he tells you which games give the most tickets, because he’s definitely been here enough times to remember

↠his favorite game is either crossy roads or the big bass wheel- he loves crossy roads because of how cute the style is, but also there is impending stress and levels of d o o m as you progress further. big bass wheel is basically just gambling, and i think he’s yumeko jabami.

↠he hacks games to make you win sometimes,, his quirk is bascially designed to do this. it’s like he was born just to take you out on this arcade date. he uses his quirk to short circuit the game and trick the computer into giving you hundreds of tickets

↠he just wants to make you happy and see you smile!! there’s not a feeling quite like succeeding at something as silly as an arcade game, but there’s a certain pride to it that he loves seeing on your face.

↠kaminari only does it a few times, since he knows that you should be earning your prizes ((not that you know when he does it, he’s really cheeky about it))

↠playyyy multiplayers with him! he loves DDR (dance dance revolution)- you do multiple rounds and are equally exhausted by the end of it akdflad you may not be good, and tbh neither is denki, but you still have fun, which is what matters

↠he also loves taking photobooth pictures, he puts on the most horrendous filters and does the dumbest poses, but it’s so adorable. he does the typical one smile, one “serious”, one silly face, one kith > <

↠kami gets cocky,,, it’s just how he is,, he gets overly confident whether or not he’s been on a winstreak

“heyy, y/n! look at my speedrun on this, i’m getting so many tickets, i’ll be able to get a house by the end of it!”

↠and then he CAN’T because he doesn’t get the jackpot eghgdhgeh

↠by the end of the day, you’ve spent hours at the arcade, laughing and screaming with denki as you terrorize the small children. yes, he’s that kind of guy

↠by “terrorize”, i don’t mean like a bully, but he’s unintentionally intimidating kids with his pockets overflowing with ticket chains, a crazed look on his face as he goes absolutely ham on the shooting games

↠there’s electricity coming off of him, kids sometimes have to dodge it when passing by

↠so anyways, by the end of the date, you’re basically being kicked out of the arcade, because, as kami puts it,

“we were here when it opened and i’ll be damned if we’re not here when it closes,”

↠between the two of you, you’ve aquired tens of thousands of tickets??? the employees probably hate y’all, they had to count those beasts of ticket rolls you’ve accumulated during the 10 hours the arcade was open

↠exactly 62,069 tickets (69 go brrr- kaminari’s brain), and you can basically buy the arcade with that currency

↠but here’s the thing: he lets you spend all of it. you heard me, all. of. it. he just wants to see you happy, and the best way he can think of to get a final glorious memory of your smile is to let you spend the tickets as you see fit, this generosity just to see you glowing as you walk out of the building, arms chock full of amazing junk

↠but of course, you’d feel bad if you spent all of it, especially since he was the one who took you out, so you offered him the half of the tickets that were won

“denki, you won most of these with your amAzINg gaming skills, it’s only fair you get to have something too,”

“my prize will be seeing you- your- your-- aw fuck, i forgot the line, it’ll come back to me, just give me a minute.”

↠he tried to be smooth and it failed, but you chuckled at the attempt, so all around, he considered it a success

↠denki gets a lot of dumb things that will probably end up being thrown away soon, but he also gets you a very soft bat stuffed animal that you should treasure and keep forever

amajiki- a walk and picnic in a japanese garden

↠tamaki is very shy, very socially anxious. he’s the kind to wait for people to leave a section of a store before he goes there, purposely do his errands in the early morning to limit social interaction, and find any excuse to leave a situation. which, tbh, isn’t that all of us?

↠let’s be honest here, if it wasn’t y’alls first date, he’d probably not go anywhere. as long as he’s with you, he doesn’t really care for anything too fancy

↠but he’s convinced himself that he needs to do something reasonably big for your first date to make sure you don’t regret your decision to go out with him. so instead of deciding to stay in, he goes somewhere that’s only slightly anxious for him, but where he still feels comfortable

↠so he’s decided on a japanese tsukiyama garden! these places are beautiful by design, not cheap but not too expensive, and people are obligated by rules to be quiet and keep their hands to themselves

↠nobody goes to a garden to socialize, in fact, i’d argue most people go just to look around, rest, and clear their heads. there’s usually not any screaming children, no quirk usage, no villains, it’s a little safe haven.

↠bonus: there’s butterflies :))

↠it’s so peaceful, and he gets to focus on you instead of whatever loud noise is making him anxious

↠he brings a picnic basket filled with all your favorite foods, and his! he makes a show out of displaying what he can manifest with different snacks, making a point to eat edible seeds so he can produce flowers for you 🥺🥺🥺

↠you walk around the garden for a few hours, marveling at the decor and how well-maintained everything is. there’s a koi pond, hanging wisteria trees, and multiple gazebos that create a really comfortable and calm environment

↠speaking of koi ponds, amajiki offers to buy you food so you can feed the fish! you stand on a bridge above the pond, sharing the container with him. the sMILE on his face when he watches you throw the food is so pure i’m-

↠he’s the walking embodiment of “uwu”- his face is so calm and his eyes are shining and he can feel his heart swelling with love i am GOING to cry my eyes out

↠but honestly, he wishes he could stay in this moment forever- you’re happy, he’s happy, and it feels like you two are the only people in the universe. right now, he doesn’t have to worry about school, villain attacks, his future, or anything that makes him anxious; all that he can see right now is how beautiful and at peace you look. he took you out today, and you’re enjoying yourself. this is one of the few things that makes him confident: knowing that he’s able to make you happy

↠tamaki is silently celebrating; you’ve had a good time and he didn’t freak out, so it’s the best possible scenario!

ashido- rollerskating! ((look at her she’s adorable the smile n the eyes aaa))

↠mina is a very energetic and bubbly person, its quite obvious if you’ve spent any amount of time around her

↠for your first date with her, she’d already have a location in mind!!

↠the atmosphere of rollerskating rinks is so electric, she can’t help but feel happy there, and she wants to experience that lovely feeling with you, too :))

↠you enter the rink, and mina is already borderline bouncing off the walls alskdfj

↠whether or not you’ve ever skated before, ashido is super cautious with you- multiple times she’s fallen on her butt while learning how to skate, so unless you’re a pro, she’s watching your every move to make sure you don’t get hurt

↠she jabs a thumb in her direction proudly, with the cutest bigass grin on her face awh 🥺🥺🥺she’s really enthusiastic about sharing one of her passions with you

↠she pays for everything and will WRESTLE you if you try to disagree aldkfa if you’re the type of person to pay for everything as well, y’all are going to have to fight; mina will not give up

↠ashido comes here a lot, so she’s friendly with all the employees, she has the uncanny ability to make friends wherever she goes ((i mean she’s friends with bakugou,, if she can do that,, she can do anything))

↠she takes one of your hands and backs onto the rink, watching for anyone behind her. once you’re balanced properly, she shows you how to move your feet so that the two of you are in sync

↠skating isn’t super hard to figure out, it’s mostly intuitive, so you’ll get the hang of it quite quickly!! maybe you’re not too fast, but it’s still fun, so it doesn’t matter

↠while you’re moving with care, making sure to focus on your footwork, mina will definitely take the chance to show off her skating skills! she’s moving like crazy, weaving around other people and nearly toppling them over but shh she’s trying to impress you and if i’m being honest??? she’s really fucking good aldkdf

↠it’s obvious that she loves this hobby, and the fact that she likes you enough to share it with you on your first date is so adorable aaaa

↠mina’s really agile- you don’t know if that’s all the hero training or just something that comes naturally, but the way she moves makes skating look like the easiest goddamn thing in the world-

↠and you’ve ticked all these boxes! you understand her sarcastic, blunt personality, and find it pretty amusing. beyond all that, she’s kind and caring, and deep down, she aspires to be a hero for all the right reasons. who wouldn’t love her for that?

↠so for your first date with kyouka, i think she’d want to be somewhere quiet and intimate with you. she wouldn’t want any interruptions ((specifically from jammingyay, who enjoys butting his head in other peoples’ business))

↠the most comfortable place for her would be her room, since it’s really just an extension of her personality, and since you’re quite close, she’d be okay with letting you in her private space. she trusts you.

↠yaomomo seemed to notice your puzzlement, and said that you could get a pot of something simple, like jasmine green or earl grey, and she would get something fancier that you could try. why not?

↠a few minutes later, you’ve already adjusted to the sophisticated and intimidating environment, focusing only on the girl across from you, and how her eyes glittered with happiness

↠she orders a few normal tea foods, like scones with jam, lemon curd, and devonshire cream, and finger sandwiches. the fanciest thing she buys, though, is a blooming tea that arrives in a clear pot. it has an open flower inside of it, which is what the tea is infused with. it’s nearly 16,100 yen for one pot, though, and while you protest its expense, momo reassures you that it’s no problem (you just learned not to say anything about money, as it wouldn’t stop yaoyorozu from spoiling you)

↠ngl, it’s so fun to pretend to be fancy for a few hours at a tea room !! you acted as if you were a member of high society, using stereotypes to exaggerate your actions. it made some people only slightly irritated, but hey, it got a laugh out of a pretty girl, so who’s the real winner?

↠yaomomo taught you some classy etiquette that you should definitely use, it makes her so happy to think that you’re learning about new things while still enjoying your time with her

↠she makes really good conversation!! her intellect seeps through everything she says, anyone who talks to her would be able to tell that she’s extremely well-spoken and mature. momo is modest, and deflects a lot of the compliments you try to give her, so if you try to display your admiration for her, you’d probably need to be very specific about it. she doesn’t have the best self-image when it comes to her heroism and field work. spoken affection sometimes doesn’t get through to her, but you know what does? physical affection!

↠she loves cuddles, and will regularly take you back to her house after a date to cuddle in her bed. her mattress is legendary, and it’s comfortable as hell. there’s an abundance of pillows and the bed isn’t too soft or too firm, and it’s always somehow an amazing temperature???? mattresses are investments, and this was definitely a good one

↠momo loves the intimacy and trust of holding you, it allows her to escape from overthinking and only focus on you, her beautiful partner. she doesn’t care if she’s the big or little spoon, but her favorite kind of cuddling is when you’re on your back and she’s curled into your side, head tucked under your chin and hand on your chest

↠she can do this for hours, please let her. she feels safe with you, confident, because you’re choosing to spend time with her in this quiet moment instead of being off somewhere else.

yeonjun got a call midday, which was from u and he initially ignored it simply because he was busy af, but he receives two more before picking up. ‘yes, hello?’ it isn’t u but apparently a staff at a hospital, yeonjun dropping everything so quickly because holy shit ur in the hospital, HIS BABY IS INJURED 🥺🥺 he’s there in an instant, by ur side and he takes in the huge scrape by ur head thats half covered by a bandage n he presses a big kiss to it. yeonjun is like, ‘what did u do!!!!!!!’ ur pouty, ‘fell down the stairs on campus because of the ice...’ yeonjun remember telling u to put on different shoes so u would have less of a chance at falling on the slippery concrete. he’s honestly just GLAD that there is nothing else wrong with you & it’s just a scrape, though u did make that staff call because u r afraid of ur bf’s wrath.

so soobin is just chilling and waiting while u continue on cooking, vv tired after practice. ‘bin!!!!’ and he is up! ur eyes are all doey and he’s like ‘what!!’ ur finger has a prick of blood dripping down it and yep u sliced ur finger open 🧍 go u amiright? so he runs it under the water quickly and makes sure it’s clean n throws out the food that he presumes has ur blood lingering amongst it. bin wants nothing more than for u to relax and he orders food because he wants to LOVE ON U 🥺 so he will give u the prettiest bandaid because he knows that bandaids r ugly sometimes. soobin is vv nice and attentive despite the fact he lets u lead the relationship when it comes to ur health and how u feel, soobin makes sure that u will always be taken care of. it’s all this boy wants is for his beloved to be safe & happy!!!

beomgyu was one of the last ones to know, sleeping soundly bc he got to go back earlier. u were having one of ur biggest performances, but things didn’t go according to plan. he comes in to ur room, mostly seeing things cluttered around and a stain of blood on the carpeting of ur room. beomgyu needed to grab some things for u, so he did. he was not prepared whatsoever to look at u. so when he got a good look of ur busted lip or the bruised jaw, as-well as the red eyes — everything in his hands fell to the floor and he almost collapsed at ur side in the hospital room. gyu really couldn’t believe that ur company didn’t protect u more, all he could do is cry at ur side. ‘it’s okay .. i’m fine, we’re gonna be alright ..’ he seemed to need more comfort than u on this, so u were going to comfort him. u held his hand with your frail one, hoping to make something good out of a bad situation.

taehyun was there when it happened, mostly because it was his fault :( well it wasn’t but he felt like it was :(( he was just trying to mess around n have some fun, but he was a little too rough with u n ultimately he ended up giving u a broken big toe 🥺 taehyun is SO SAD 😭 he feels so bad because its a BIG TOE and he knows it has to hurt so he’s trying to give u as many kisses as possible and he makes sure u dont move an inch!! ur fine totally, it hurts a little but u can still move :/ taehyun insists tho and will bring u everything. he’ll pull u into his arms and warm u up!! he’s acting as if u r dying and whatnot, but ur content with being babied by him — u rly like cuddling with him and it’s the best feeling .. also taehyun getting one of the boys to babysit you when he leaves to go do something 🧍 he is not letting u do ANYTHING without someone watching over you

huening kai is dating a very very clumsy person, resulting in ur broken arm .. u had broken the arm in two places and he currently had u sitting on his bed with the softest pillow under your bright purple cast .. he cant hold ur HAND like he does 😭 hyuka heart is BROKEN but he still loves u regardless and u guys will binge watch shows while u wait for your arm to heal up n the cast gets taken off.. ofc he carries a pen around for random people and the boys + himself to sign .. he is going to have so much fun with u and he helps out sm bc u can’t do shit since ur arm is broken .. cue huening kai struggling to hug u and then forgetting ur arm is broken when he goes in for a high five 😭 lmfaoo he’s hilarious when this happens ngl,, just always cheering u up!!! he learns a lot of things he hadn’t known abt, first being laundry and then dish washing or how to cook something home made 🧍 this boy is clueless but now is the best time to learn loloolol

hmmmm this is just based on what i remember cuz i literally saw it once when it came out & never watched it again. but id love the opportunity to roast it so after some thought heres what i didnt like:

-giving tony stark a kid just to kill him off for shock value

-the entire resolution to cap’s storyline... robbing peggy of the life she built w/out him so he could get the girl in the end 😍even tho his entire arc is like. abt being a man out of time and having to grapple w/ that and move on w/ his life. like ur telling me after the relationships he formed w/ natasha and sam and ntm everything he did to find bucky and bring him back he’s just gonna fuck off and live a separate life w/out them?? no

-like i get they wanted to like write steve out of the films & make sam the new cap but like i said in my other post. steve shouldve just died instead of tony and passed on the shield then and there it’s more meaningful than w/e those 2 plot points above are

-killing off natasha instead of clint. this one ties in w/ a lot of other things i dont particularly like ab how they treated clint/nat in the mcu to begin w/ (like nat hating herself bc she cant have kids, giving clint a random wife n kids for no reason, the implication that nat’s life is intrinsically worth less BC clint has a wife n kids... w/e just clint’s family and steve’s resolution just rly pushes a weird het family values whatever thing). im not getting into this ever tho bc im not invested anymore and also i dont have the energy for it. also mcu clint was never gonna have what comics clint had anyway

-thor’s fat isn’t that a funny joke :)

-blink and youll miss it “gay representation” feat. one nameless random character saying husband Once in a sentence. i want more characters to casually drop that they’re gay and move on w/out companies acting like it’s the pinnacle of representation or w/e. it’s bare minimum at best but u STILL have writers and directors like, talking ab how meaningful it was to put it in the script. but they rly hyped up the fact that EG would have gay rep and im still annoyed abt it. try harder

-the girl power moment in the final fight.. when i think abt it i just envision the writers sitting together and patting themselves on the back for how Empowering and #feminist it was

-all the shit they did to avoid spoilers lmao. when ur more invested in plot twists & shocking ur audience and w/e instead of like, good writing - esp to the point where even ur ACTORS are in the dark - it shows.

EG was hyped up to be like this epic and thrilling and badass conclusion to the mcu movies before it but i remember for like the first half of the movie i kept checking my phone to see what time it was like every 10 min 😪and all i remember abt it is what i didnt like bc it really WAS 3 hours of nothing which gave me plenty of time to mull over everything i hated. i rly liked marvel comics as a kid but i literally saw this movie once n never thought abt marvel again

— if only he didn’t strike you as the brother type when he smacked the back of your head because you were falling asleep on class again and uhhh you mUst be forgetting that the two of you were sitting in front

you had no time to reevaluate whether you should develop a crush for him or not

he’s immediately slapping his hands on his knees, looking at you so intensely before pointing a finger at you with so much conviction, and then scoffing to himself

all the people bring are scarves and shawls???? thee thinnest version of a blanket that won’t warm them up against the frigid airconditioning

that whole dress code sounds ridiculous!!! great please ring out this thousand-dollar dress im gonna wear to the theater thank u

you’re a little worried that you’re not gonna blend into the crowd, but after some digging about the invitation, formal wear is most definitely recommended

it’s an exclusive invite-only play which would be later released to the general public later on so yeah the situation dOES call for a gown thank u very much

if you’re being humble right now, which you always normally are, even if that jUST sounded boastful talking about how you’re humble all the time —

going on self-timer isn’t ideal either when there’s like a hundred other people in the room

the theater’s dark as hell if that wasn’t established

it is literally pitch black in the room and the ushers at each row holding the flashlights that are meant to guide the patrons aren’t exactly helpful

big kudos to them though,, must take a lot of self-control to not wave their lights like it was a rave :D

the last time you were in a rave, your thirty minutes of fun was cut short when seokjin immediately got hammered and wouldn’t stop throwing a fit if you didn’t drive him home that instant

you find plays hard to follow and absolutely boring when you don’t immerse yourself in a run-down PRIOR to watching it in order to get

it’s the same analogy as reading the plot of a movie on wikipedia before watching the movie at the cinema.... absolutely useless

it sucks out the fun from something you weren’t supposed to know

watching plays is two hours of you being confused, going home to read the plot and only understand it by tHEN, and never coming to the theater again because you’d waste your money.... watching something cluelessly in the theater..... for a plot you’d grasp at home

actually this one that you’re watching...

it’s not bad

it’s nice, actually.

within two minutes, you managed to grasp that it’s a story about a never-ending spring between these two lovers

there’s something about the whole setting of it actually that just sucks you in

in some plays, the outfits would seem so forced even in the given context that it reminds you of uh a particular superhero movie

and yes ur aware that stage makeup has to be enhanced so that people all the way to the back row would see

but there’s just something in this scene that’s laid out right-now that actually gets you in awe

it’s of the couple in the back of their pick-up truck and everything about it seems so natural

the background straight up looks like what it’d be if you were to go outside

the guy’s arm around her shoulder seems so natural and in nature that it doesn’t feel like a random cue in the script

the girl twinkles and it doesn’t even feel like a forced type of laugh you’d cue in attempt to warm the audience’s hearts

it’s of a plot where the the guy eventually falls out of love with the girl, while girl gets even more smitten with the guy at the same time

it’s what you take from the past ten minutes that you watch in dead silence, and you don’t even remember in the back of your head that you’re supposed to hate plays

“no way.”

you mumble in disbelief under your breath, head shaking profusely

is your mind playing tricks on you???

you’ve got too used to seokjin sitting beside you that you immediately turn to your right, whispering out your concerns

“is it just me or is she wearing a different shade of pink?”

you don’t even buffer for one second when you ask the stranger beside you

you’re so concerned that you’re looking at him intently while waiting for his answer that could either console or despair you, a random theater-goer that’s too noisy with her questions for her own good

it’s absolutely dARK as fuck in the theater but after awhile your eyes adjusted slightly

and the first thing you look at after the stage is him

him as in the dude in your right that you just asked all of a sudden

you could only see his silhouette and the faintest features of his face along with his well-dressed suit but god

... you are totally not lying if you say that even the barest silhouette of him doesn’t look handsome

you’re expecting him to tell you off for being so noisy but instead, he’s the one who takes you by surprise

“how did you notice that?”

“oh my god!” you exclaim almost too loudly that you yourself even jolts, the guy even making you duck with him slightly for a brief second, “im sO sorry!! am i accidentally spoiling it out for you?”

the guy blinks twice, lips slightly parted before shaking his head no

“no, no... this is the first screening — i mean uh, how would you know that?”

you’re adjusting yourself on your seat, bum now warm as you try to explain and not be nervous because what if you just made a wrong assumption about this play and you’re sitting next to a goddamn tHEATRE BUFF???

“well i —uh, uhm what’s your name?” you’re flustered and the FIRST thing you ask is what was his name.,.,,

he seems equally as flustered before he adjusts his glasses, “o-oh uhm i’m namjoon...?”

“you see, namjoon — okay it might just be in my head, but i tHINK it looks deeper with the light somehow. but uh...? the spotlight’s not following her and — is it just me or without the light, her sweater looks brown?”

his ears perk up at that, your first sentence that you’ve said after your pink sweater that looks like spring also looks brown like fall in certain scene because of the lighting realization

he takes the chance to look at you as best as he could, trying to play his squinting as cool as he can

namjoon’s far sighted and the glasses he’s wearing are nOT up to date with his current grade bc he’s pretty sure his eyesight’s worsened the past month

he can’t make you out wholly, but he does know that you’re pretty

his eyes don’t linger on you because of the snacks you’re fishing from your purse while you talk that are absolutely illegal in this theater house lmao

but instead, his gaze lingers on you because you’re so pretty

the minimal light that’s bouncing off the stage is enough for him to see a faint outline of your features, highlighting your smiles just right and your dress to glint underneath

“mhmm. i actually hate plays,” suddenly, you’re not scared if namjoon happens to be some sort of theatre buff and you’re offending him because honestly, you feel at ease. “crunch?” you’re holding out the mini bar of chocolate out to him, one he politely declines to because his eyes are bulging out the next second

“you do????”

his genuine reaction indulges you, making you grin ultimately that you put off eating snacks for now to focus on him

“yeah! this is my hate outfit :D”

namjoon giggles as if it’s the funniest thing he’s ever heard

you automatically scoot closer because this time, it’s yOUR turn to shush him

this is totally for just the reason of talking more discreetly and not distracting anyone and is totally not an excuse to be closer to the next guy and touch shoulders with him then get a whiff of cologne because it’s rare for a guy to be handsome and aLSO smell good

your eyes get used to the darkness and eventually, you could make out features of namjoon beside you

he has the prettiest eyes you’ve ever seen

and the way he looks at you makes you feel safe and even your height difference is visible with how probably lonG his torso is compared to yours, his gaze doesn’t make you feel small

namjoon’s still (unsurprisingly) far-sighted and ur so close that he’s a lil cross-eyed

fuck it he’s gonna go to ophthalmologist FIRST thing in the morning tomorrow

“then why are you here?”

“my friend seokjin,” you lean back upon realizing the original reason why you’re here, the situation being so ironic that you puff out a smile

it was just two weeks ago when yoongi, the executive producer of his film that he was directing, let it slip that he was co-financing a play

he met yoongi some semesters later after he became close with you, and he’s aLSO converted yoongi into hating theatre then he fit right in to your little posse of theatre kid-hating film students

that gave jin the laugh of his laugh and yoongi was not joking at all

“no, no. i’m telling you man. it’s different! i even have the script that i’ll let you read.”
