I don't understand anti-logyn. I mean I totally get it if people aren't interested in Sigyn as a character or figure. But I don't understand the dislike of the ship. All these claims that Sigyn is a OC self insert is such unnecessary hate. The insistence on saying self-insert too. If I write a fanfic or make fan art of a MCU version Gwen Stacy is it self-insert because I'm making her the way I think is cool and want to see her?

I see people claim the Angrboda is so much better, and the she has a personality unlike Sigyn. What!? The only thing known about Angrboda is that she was scary, that's it. That's not a personality, there's just as little info on Angrboda as there is on Sigyn. And the claim that logyn shippers are anti-angrboda. I've never seen that, at worst Sigyn fans are a little salty Angrboda gets respected in adaptation and Sigyn never does, but the sentiment is never that Angrboda is a bad character herself. If anything it's the other way around. Sigyn is always put down in favor of Angrboda.

Maybe you ship Loki with someone else. Maybe you don't want Loki shipped with anyone. Or maybe you're just put off by the over enthusiasm. But to hate such a small fraction of the fandom because they want a rewrite a concept they feel was poorly done is so unnecessary. We know Loki was a crappy husband in Marvel, but that doesn't make Sigyn irredeemable as a concept.

People adore Hades and Persephone as a concept. A relationship that could only be considered good in comparison to the rest of Greek mythology. But people romanticize the hell out of it regardless. The modernize, they give Persephone agency and she really has none in the original myth.

There will always be people that ship Gwen and Peter over MJ even though In the canon it will always end with Peter and MJ. That's fine that's their business if they like Gwen more. Let fans have their thing.

Read several books about Loki and Sigyn, which were marked with hashtag ‘justice for sigyn’. All of them are written by really talented people (I’m often baffled by situations when fans write better stories than professional writers – why do the latter get their money?). After reading I can’t agree on some specific points in these books that rubbed me wrong.

Cat Rector ‘The Goddess of Nothing at all’ – the story is strong. A well-written book, pleasure to read. But. Even here, on Tumblr, I read lots of meta and criticism ‘Angrboda wasn’t Loki’s mistress! She was his wife before Sigyn!’. And the author goes this standard way ‘Angrboda is Loki’s mistress’. It works for this story, but it’s in lots and lots of books about Norse myths! Why NOT make her a mistress? Why go a typical way? The ending – I loved the ending. A new All-mother Sigyn – chef’s kiss.

Nicki Chapelway ‘The Harbinger of the end’ (1st book) – an interesting take on Volsung saga, the adventures were really engaging. But, frankly, I didn’t understand why Sigyn fell in love with Loki. I mean, they never had any meaningful conversations or actions between two of them to start love. She just decides ‘I’m a wife, I must love him, and also he’s handsome’. That’s it! Next morning she acts as if she’s deeply in love with him. It seemed as if the author wanted to go into slowburn, but didn’t manage to pull it off and just jumped to the moment when they’re already in love.

Lyra Wolf ‘Truth and other lies’ – again, where’s Sigyn as the Goddess of Victory? So much for all these cries in the internet and on Tumblr specifically ‘but she’s not the Goddess of Fidelity! Marvel just made it up!’. Then WHY use this trope? Not saying it’s a bad idea in and on itself, but it’s so established in general public’s mind. Why not change it? Why not at least combine these two elements – fidelity AND victory?

Surprisingly, only Melvin Burgess writes Sigyn as the Goddess of Victory. Burgess! It was the single thing I liked in this book. Of course, he didn’t give justice to her, but at least he named her title right.

Of course, I guess, nothing can beat the Marvel comics – they’re the first to blame for this Fidelity mess and general treatment of Sigyn. Lots of nowadays popular books are based on comics portrayal. I believe fan books should go as far from these typical Logyn tropes as possible.

"Loki, Triumphant"- A Logyn Drabble

At Thor’s coronation, Loki looks up and wonders what could have been had he been given the throne as his birthright. Princess Sigyn sees greener pastures and a brighter future by simply being in his life.

Genre: Very very sugary fluff, inner monologue (Sigyn’s POV) Content warning: none, just get your dentist on speed dial Word Count: ~ 500

I, Princess Sigyn, hold the greatest power in the known universe. I, and I alone, know your heart, my Prince of Chaos. 

And it is heavy this morning. 

How strange, with the pomp and fanfare parading before us at your brother’s coronation hour, it is only you I can focus my gaze upon, even as yours tapers off into the distance, lost in inadequacy, wondering what comes next for you now that your bastard father has died. 

You could never see the forest for the trees, my darling. The jealousy you feel for a lost crown dulls you to the real victory beside you. You have something more than Thor, something that even his new bride, Queen Sif, cannot give him. 

You have my loyalty, as well as the loyalty of your future heir, for as tiny yet as he is, he is strong, keeping me up at all hours of the night with his kicking fits against my innards. His presence inside me chills my temperature, so we know he will be strong, cold, and carry your genes. You worry so much about this, but a mother can always tell when there is nothing to fear. Our son will make you prouder than your brother could ever feel. 

I know the fog behind your eyes is only as temporary as the day’s events, for I already know exactly what will happen tonight behind closed doors. Your smile will unfold once more, your eyes unable to tear themselves from my body. Once, such a hungered gaze from you would fill my cheeks with hot blush and send my maiden’s heart humming. Now I know how to defend myself against your roaming looks, though I find myself seldom wanting to. 

Norns, you’re a figure of exquisite perfection. Wherefore was I, a humble soldier’s daughter, to this magnificent fortune born? Am I a disgrace to all womankind by melting into a pile at the study of your shapely jaw? Thor and his queen can keep their blonde scruff and bulging muscles. Prince Loki, you are as tall and lean as Yggdrasil, and you carry all its promises for our future on your frame. 

Yet, even in this moment, as the diadem is placed on Thor’s blonde head, you feel as if you’ve lost a battle. 

Why, dearest?

Our victory slumbers in my womb, Loki. It will re-lighten your soul when the day ends and we retreat back to our perfect little corner of the palace. You’ll light the hearth with emerald flames, ask the servant at the door to bring tea, and fall asleep on my shoulder as we wait. Your cheek fits against my shoulder as if they were two pieces of the same marble that had merely cracked apart.

The tea will grow cold as we sail off to the dream plane together, as we do every night. Thor and Sif will have Asgard, but we’ll have the Heavens. You, I, and our son. 

And that would be enough.

Some more of my Sigyn HCs ( from my HCs of MCU! Sigyn )

. Sigyn loves baking, and sometimes like to make baked treats with her friends growing up.

. Baking is a popular activity in Alfheim, and Loki definitely likes to eat her carrot cakes.

. Sigyn defo can bake cakes, make potions and likes to gossip ; and also be a fucking badass in battlefield. Girl can do both.

. Loki's catalyst to a dark path understandably saddened her and Thor. But after Thor 2, Loki and Sigyn work to rebuild their romance ( which was kept secret for 4 years )

Being a former Valkyrie and being one of the very few Valkyries that survived the Massacre of Valkyrie, really made her struggle with her once steadfast faith of the Valkyrie movement - it was only through hearing that Brunnhilde lives in Thor 3, did those survived Valkyrie veterans found hope in the Valkyrie movement again

. Loki and Sigyn actually plan to move somewhere in Alfheim ( or somewhere similar to Alfheim ) after Ragnarok

. A number of people outside of Alfheim are in awe of rhe Light Elves' charm upon first meeting them in person

. Alfheim doesn't just have Light Elves - it has fairies, pixies, every type of Light Fae one can think of

. Light Elven magic strays more into Light Fae magic and a total other breed from Asgardian magic.

. Even after knowing Sigyn since they were children, Loki still sometimes is amazed with just how pretty Sigyn is.

. In the Massacre of the Valkyrie, Sigyn literally is one of those who helped as many Valkyries to survive as they can. Which is a reason why Sigyn is hailed as a ' Goddess of Victory ' when she and the very few Valkyrie survivors who chose to return to the Nine Realms, return to their home planets.

. Loki x Sigyn in my MCU fics kinda reminds me of Beauty and the Beast and Hiccistrid from HTTYD in some ways. Hahaha

As many of you know, in Norse mythology Loki is married to a woman named Sigyn, also known as "Loki's faithful wife."

In Norse mythology she is a strong and combative woman, but evidently this detail has escaped from Marvel.

In their comics they portrayed Sigyn as a weak and submissive woman who obeys Loki's every order.

Here is a link to a petition I created to introduce Sigyn into the MCU and to give her the representation she deserves. If you signed and shared it, you would help me a lot.

I hesitate a lot about her colors, as you can see on my profile I couldn't choose between gold and silver; But I've decided it will be purple and silver now.

As you can read it's only her "formal dress", I have yet to draw a more casual version, plus her outfit when she has to fight. I will give you new informations about her with each new drawing.

Sigyn's loki is fucking dead I'm so sick and tried of logyn shippers ignoring that. Of course loki's friends won't let her beat the shit out of him(spoilers she actually can't) because their friend did nothing wrong to her. Actually open agent of asgard and read it people,classic loki is right there in the void and literally said he were dead, god. Sigyn is never getting her justice because again her fucking loki is dead leave ikol be and stop acting he deserves to get the shit beaten out of him for actions he never did.

Of course he dosen't want to deal with his past self mistakes.

Like actually leave him be you people are making me wanna hate sigyn and she did nothing wrong

It's enough that he's suffering because of the other characters inside the story.
