Rant, after seeing this tweet: a discussion needs to be had about how female characters are hated vs male characters. While they are some complaints about Daredevil getting the MCU treatment or whatever, most fans are pleased with how Matt was brought into the MCU, most people are defending his portrayal and making jokes. She-Hulk and Ms Marvel were torn apart with the majority of viral posts and tweets being hate and criticism. Some views were hid behind MCU criticism as opposed to the characters, but it was pretty transparent. She-Hulk was lucky to have cameos that created hype that drowned out the hate after the first few episodes released, Ms Marvel wasn't so lucky. The ratings were awful and the show was completely slept on.

Jennifer: and remember ordering fries to go is code for you’re going home together
Y/N: Kamala and I are in high school, cousin!
Jennifer: and if you were cologne, you’ll definitely get a make out session with her
Y/N: please stop talking! You’re a great cousin, lawyer and avenger Jen but you are terrible at advice.
Jennifer: do you need legal advice?
Y/N screams in frustration…

I really and truly wish Joe dies. I can’t stand this. Why am I opening my little broke college student pockets to hand over money so I can desperately hope to keep people from being bombed and carrying their family members in plastic bags and then some person who’s so inhumane that words cannot describe. Can just sign away more lives than we can ever hope to rescue. What’s the point anymore. What’s the point of everybody trying so desperately to do the right thing when the wrong thing is easier, profitable, and so much more funded. Why is everything like this. Why is doing good like this

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
March 31, 2023
Heather Cox Richardson
The second Summit for Democracy organized by the White House concluded yesterday with an invitation to a third summit, to be held in Costa Rica later this year. The second summit was not just a United States party: its virtual sessions were co-hosted by Costa Rica, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Zambia. Over the course of three days, participants from more than 100 countries discussed ways to surge resources to reformers during democratic openings, address inequality, promote economic growth, combat corruption, advance the status of women, promote media freedom, encourage youth political participation, combat hate speech, strengthen unions, and defend the rule of law.
On Tuesday, President Joe Biden congratulated the attendees for helping to make democracy work, turning the tide against autocracies. In the U.S. he said, “we’ve demonstrated that our democracy can still do big things and deliver important progress for working Americans.” As ordinary Americans have seen lower costs for prescription drugs and health insurance premiums, progress on rebuilding infrastructure, innovation, and policies to address climate change, they have, Biden said, “resoundingly and roundly rejected the voices of extremism attacking and undermining our democracy.”
Biden highlighted the ways other countries are advancing democracy: Angola is trying to build an independent judiciary, the Dominican Republic and Croatia have combated corruption. Biden called out “many other countries…from countries taking the first steps toward reform to well-established democracies of people making real changes to protect and strengthen their democracy.” The work of democracy “has never been easy,” he said. It “is hard work. The work of democracy is never finished. It’s never laid down and that’s it, all you have to do. It must be protected constantly.”
He continued: “We have to continually renew our commitment, continually strengthen our institutions, root out corruption where we find it, seek to build consensus, and reject political violence, give hate and extremism no safe harbor.”
The U.S. has invested in global democracy by committing more than $1 billion to shore up government transparency and accountability, support media freedom, fight international corruption, defend elections, and promote technology that advances democracy. It intends, Biden says, to commit $9.5 billion over three years.
Protecting democracy, the president said, “is a defining challenge of our age.”
Today, Leslie B. Dubeck, the general counsel for the Manhattan district attorney’s office, wrote to Representatives Jim Jordan (R-OH), chair of the House Committee on the Judiciary; Bryan Steil (R-WI), chair of the House Committee on House Administration; and James Comer (R-KY), chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, to warn them that their attacks on Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg and his office were “unlawful political interference.”
Jordan, Steil, and Comer have tried to intervene in the district attorney’s investigation of former president Trump. Even before a grand jury of ordinary citizens voted to file charges against Trump, the three men demanded the district attorney share with them confidential information about the state of the investigation. The district attorney did not give it to them because, as Dubeck said, “our Office is legally constrained in how it publicly discusses pending criminal proceedings,… as you well know. That secrecy is critical to protecting the privacy of the target of any criminal investigation as well as the integrity of the independent grand jury’s proceedings,” she wrote.
She called their interference “unnecessary and unjustified” and reminded the men that Congress has no jurisdiction over individual criminal investigations. Nor does it have jurisdiction over state investigations. “The Committees’ attempted interference with an ongoing state criminal investigation—and now prosecution—is an unprecedented and illegitimate incursion on New York’s sovereign interests,” she wrote.
Dubeck noted that the men were reportedly working closely with Trump to attack the district attorney’s office and the grand jury process, making it seem that “you are acting more like criminal defense counsel trying to gather evidence for a client than a legislative body seeking to achieve a legitimate legislative objective.”
Dubeck noted that Trump has been threatening Bragg personally and warning that his indictment might unleash “death & destruction.” She pointed out that the three men, as committee chairs, “could use the stature of your office to denounce these attacks and urge respect for the fairness of our justice system and for the work of the impartial grand jury.” Instead, they and their colleagues were collaborating with Trump to attack the justice system as politically motivated. “We urge you to refrain from these inflammatory accusations, withdraw your demand for information, and let the criminal justice process proceed without unlawful political interference,” she wrote.
Dubeck concluded by noting that subpoenaing the district attorney for information about an ongoing state criminal prosecution, as they threatened to do, was “unprecedented and unconstitutional” and expressed hope they would “make a good-faith effort to reach a negotiated resolution.”
Also today, Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis ruled in favor of Dominion Voting Systems in a key point of the company’s lawsuit against the Fox News Corporation for defamation. The ruling also established the central point for dismissing the story that Trump had won the 2020 election. Davis wrote—in italics—“The evidence developed in this civil proceeding demonstrates that [it] is CRYSTAL clear that none of the Statements relating to Dominion about the 2020 election are true.”
The Fox News Corporation had argued that the false statements of its hosts claiming that the voting system had thrown the 2020 presidential election to Biden were not defamatory because they were opinions. In his decision the judge went through the statements, calling out 20 occasions on which lies were stated as facts and similar occasions on which deliberately omitted material changed the meaning of what was presented.
The judge has determined that the hosts’ statements were false. Now the case will go to a jury trial in April to determine whether Fox hosts knew they were lying and whether Dominion sustained damages from the defamation. The company is suing for $1.6 billion.
In the last stop of her Africa visit, Vice President Kamala Harris today was in Zambia, which co-hosted this week’s Summit for Democracy. Neither Harris nor Biden will comment in any way about the impending indictment of the former president. At a press conference in Zambia’s capital, Lusaka, today, a reporter from the Wall Street Journal reminded Harris that she had “spoken about democracy and the rule of law at every stop in Africa,” and asked her to comment on news of the indictment.
When she declined, Zambian president Hakainde Hichilema stepped forward. “[L]et’s remove names from your question,” he said.
“Let’s put what we decided we will do to govern ourselves in an orderly manner. First, our constitutions, bedrock law. Then, secondary laws, other regulations create a platform or framework around which we agreed, either as Americans or as Zambians, to govern ourselves.  And so, to live within those confines.
“And when there’s transgression against law, it does not matter who is involved. I think that is what the rule of law means.”

I always think it’s worth mentioning that Biden has spent his ENTIRE PRESIDENCY trying desperately to do something to distract from how the US completely lost the war in Afghanistan that they’ve been using as their go to for patriotism for the last 20 years and then left our allies and translators to die at the hands of the Taliban. And he’s failed over and over again.
he’s such a fucking disgrace and expecting us to vote for him after being a major force behind a horrific genocide is disgusting. Fuck the GOP but how can you possibly argue that he’s the lesser of two evils?
At least if Trump had been president while this was happening, liberals would have been a lot quicker to realize what was happening instead of falling straight into the propaganda machine.

Just like last year, my MCU review of the year :)
Moon Knight (9,5/10)
2022 started off with a bang for the mcu. After the three months break, this was a delight in every way possible. This show was so much fun, both because of Moon Knight’s character in general and because of Oscar Isaac. The Egyptian mythology was so much fun and an amazing addition to the mcu. I CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE OF LAYLA. Girlie needs to drop her curly hair routine, thanks 🫶🏻
Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness (6/10)
I’ve already given a lengthy review of this movie when it came out, but I’ll say it again in short here: this movie was disappointing at best. With all the hype that came with this movie, we weren’t given what we came for. Powerful female character sacrificing herself at the end for the ‘greater good’? I’ll pass. All of Wanda’s character development in WandaVision was for naught. It was all thrown down the drain and what a waste. The first Dr Strange movie isn’t a favorite of mine either, but the concept of the multiverse in this movie gave me hope, but it was misplaced.
Ms. Marvel (8/10)
The visuals in this series, the opening logo alone!!!! Beautiful representation, such a fun character, and relatable. I found myself in Kamala’s character as a child of strict parents. That part of the story was very accurately told and I loved to see it :)
Thor: Love and Thunder (4/10)
Dear Lord, the fuck was this movie?
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (5/10)
They tried to make a feminist project again, but failed. I HATE it when projects like these focus so damn hard on the female representation and emphasize it to the point where it feels like it’s being forced upon you. You make stories with great representation by treating that represented group like you would privileged communities. Representation does not mean that you have an immediate great story. Far from it. She-Hulk is one of the most fun characters in the comics. They turned her into a sex-deprived, failed lawyer who isn’t even as bulky as she is in the comics (a huge fucking miss). And don’t even get me started on the CGI.
Werewolf by Night (7,5/10)
A quick, fun watch. Elsa Bloodline, I’m waiting for you queen. You can shoot me with that crossbow😍😮‍💨✨ I can’t wait to see how this story will play out in the mcu
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (10/10)
I wasn’t convinced marvel could outdo such an emotional opening scene like the one in Black Widow. But they did with Wakanda Forever. This movie is the most beautiful tribute they could’ve made for Chadwick. He was present in every second of this movie. I genuinely do not understand how people don’t like this movie. Yes, Chadwick was in a way the body and soul of Black Panther, but there is so much more to this character/story. The lore of Wakandan culture… it was so beautifully woven into this new movie. Shuri’s journey of grieving her brother is so powerful and very personal and relatable to me. The story of white colonizers put into perspective for younger generations was dealt with beautifully. The soundtrack (once again), the visuals, everything was stunning about this movie. It brought me to tears multiple tears. Not just because of Chadwick, but also because of the meaning of this story.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday special (6/10)
Meh. I don’t see the need of this special. I genuinely don’t. As far as I can tell, it adds nothing to the mcu. Drax and Mantis bothered me to no extent for some reason. Mantis admitting to Peter that they’re siblings was kinda cute, but I found myself skipping 30% of this lol
Though there were some exceptions, the quality of the mcu has noticeably gone down. I’ve noticed my excitement/interest disappear for the mcu this year. And it’s because they’re pushing out these projects like the capitalist that disney is. Disappointing.

"Leprosy remains a deep-rooted human rights issue," says Alice Cruz, the UN Special Rapporteur on the elimination of discrimination against persons affected by leprosy, a role she's held since November 2017. There are more than a hundred laws that discriminate against people with leprosy worldwide, creating a strong stigma that can act as a barrier for getting treatment, she says. In some countries, leprosy is grounds for divorce. In India, this was the case until laws were amended in 2019. Many people affected by the disease still struggle to get jobs, and the disease can hinder their access to healthcare and education. "Countries should do everything in their power to have discriminatory laws abolished and to put in place policy that can guarantee economic and social rights to people affected by leprosy," says Cruz. "Going forward, we should ask ourselves the question: are our healthcare systems working to afford full accessibility to persons affected by leprosy? This is because leprosy is much more than a disease, it became a label that dehumanises people who are affected by it."

As far as I'm concerned, the entire public was fooled into thinking Merrick Garland was something he wasn't, when McConnell blocked his appointment to the SCOTUS. We were all fed bullshit about that man's commitment to the Law, and as it turns out, he's just as weak as the last guy. It's not difficult to see that Garland is compromised, because his priority is supposed to be protecting the American people, not criminals attached to wealthy donors.

Citizen arrest warrant for Mr. Biden & Ms. Harris
Will you take action? I invite you to use the following letter:
The Constitution of the United States of America contains provisions and laws for a secure border around the sovereign land of the United States of America. It further outlines laws required for all legal entry, immigration, into said Nation.
The executive office, the executive officers of the United States of America, the President of the United States and the Vice President of the United States, are duty and oath bound to execute said laws in adherence to provide for a common defense and protection for all sovereign land and citizens, ("The People") of the United States of America as stated in the United States Constitution, Article II.
The President takes the following oath when sworn into office:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
The Vice President takes the following oath:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."
Mr. Joseph Biden swore to the President's oath when sworn into office.
Ms. Kamala Harris swore to the Vice President's oath when sworn into office. (Dates recorded on public record)
I, as a citizen of The United States of America, am bound to be faithful and loyal to the Constitution, not to a political party or person, by the following oath:
"...I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."
I further do and have pledged allegiance to the United States of America by the following pledge:
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Both Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris are delinquent, derelict, and in violation of their oath's of office by not enforcing US border and immigration law as outlined by law in the said Constitution. Both parties are in violation of continuously breaking and neglecting their sworn oath and duty. Both are committing seditious acts, causing 26 States, a majority of the Republic's States to rebuff them for said dereliction and violation.
I, therefore, as a citizen, to be faithful and loyal to Almighty God on which this Republic stands, the Constitution of the United States of America, and to all its citizens, "The People," acting under my duty and authority provided me under and in the United States Constitution, to sustain, uphold, and defend the laws of said land, do hereby execute a citizen's arrest on Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris, and charge them with said delinquency, dereliction, violation, sedition, and treason against the United States of America, "The People," and its sovereign land, and hold them to be tried for said charges.I further call for the swearing into office persons who will follow, abide by, and faithfully and diligently carry out their oaths of offices by and in the authority of the United States Constitution and its citizens, "The People," to provide for their defense and protection. Specifically, I called for the swearing in of the Speaker of House of Representatives to said oath, protection, and defense of The United States of America.
