"luffy. i never cry because i'm hungry." 02 - When was the last time you cried?

About a week ago bc I was laughing too hard Also techinically this morning. My eyes just started tearing up a bit while I was still in bed & staring against the wall. I guess that white wall was just tugging at my heartstrings

03 - Do you have kids?

The only children I have are my OCs <3 My current beloved OCs are Aym, Marchosias (💖💖💖💖💖), and Baal; all for Obey Me

04 - What sports do you play/have you played?

So as a kid, I took MSE (self-defense) classes, I did ballet for a short while, and I played badminton. But now I'm not really doing much sports anymore. I'm occasionally working out in a sad attempt to stay healthy but that's...not working out all that well because I keep forgetting about it lol. That being said, I walk anywhere as long as it's a walkable distance away (to me, that's around 90min max), idc it's the European mindset. Der Fußbus hält überall :)

06 - What is the first thing you notice about people?

When I pass strangers on the street, I try to look for little moments that bring them joy. That being said, 90% of the time I'm just lost in my own thoughts & have completely tunnel vision, so imagine noticing anything 😭 When I first meet people tho, it's usually the way they look at you, which tbh is a little ironic because I sometimes just cannot look people in the eyes NFDHSKGJHKSDLGS

07 - What's your eye color?

They used to be blue, but now they're more of a greyish green with a few brown spots in them

08 - Scary movies or happy endings?

Okay endings, actually! Where characters don't get the happy ending they were hoping for, and some things are still a little messy, but all in all things are okay and they finally get to breath again. Though I guess that's kind of a happy ending? lol

09 - Any talents?

My newest talent is being able to imitate the cry of an owl. My sister explained it to me earlier & once I got it to work I've been doing it non-stop until I got lightheaded 😭 Worth it tho Other than that, being able to teach myself the basics of a lot of things within a day (one of the upsides of ADHD), as well as abandoning a lot of my projects after a while because I suddenly decided to start a completely different one (one of the downsides of ADHD) I also have a real talent for writing angst. Ask any of my closer mutuals, I keep terrorizing them with my ideas (love you guys 💖) And finally: telling myself that I'll go to sleep early & then it's 5am

being insane, obviously 💚 some of my mutuals can surely attest to that lol No, but in general I enjoy writing & drawing, as well as, uhm. Randomly deciding to take up multiple really time-consuming projects, such as the OM card rec thing I did that I still need to update ahhhh, my Obey Me OC & MC ask game that originally had 200+ questions before I cut it in half out of fear of it being too long, half of my side blogs, and SOOOO many other things. <- or in short, being insane 💚 I also really love cooking & baking! Side note, if anyone wants an easy chocolate lava cake recipe, you just need to ask... 👀 Also lately it's just been romancing Thanatos in Hades because I randomly remembered that I hadn't done that yet

I used to have clownfish and a starfish, but other than that I've never had any myself. I love the dogs I dogsit with all my heart tho, and there is this cat that I sometimes meet on my way to work. She always runs up to me when she sees me and won't stop meowing until I start petting her, and last time she climbed onto my lap (I sat down in the middle of the sidewalk, I did not care lmao), she's literally the sweetest 😭😭 I also ring the doorbell for her whenever it rains so she doesn't have to stay outside lol

13 - How tall are you?

1,68m or 5'6 if I got the conversion correct lol

14 - Favourite subject in school?

Heavily depended on the teacher, but generally art class because we usually got to work on whatever we wanted with and listen to music. Also English in 9th grade, math in 10th and German in 11th because the teachers were great

15 - Dream job?

I've been thinking of translations in general/software localizition for a while now. I just love dissecting all the small differences between languages (D.D.D.s being called 'D3' my beloved), + there are so many invisble choices made when translating. You'll always lose something because every language has its little quirks and a different mindset that can't be translated directly, but you'll also gain something that the original version didn't have. It's an art form in itself, and I really love that <3 The other job that keeps popping into my mind is event mangement. I already get to organize a ton of things for my uni since I'm part of the student council for one of my two majors. It's exhausting, but also really rewarding when you have people come up to you afterwards to tell you how much fun they had!

Part Twelve--Part Thirteen-(finale)

You slowly waded through the darkness, the sound of rushed voices surrounded you but you couldn't make out who they were, couldn't see anything but the all encompassing darkness. "Do something!" Loki's voice resonated through you. "She may never wake my king." Another echoed through your mind. You wanted to open your eyes, to see his beautiful face, to reach out and touch him, assure him you were still here but it was no use, your body wouldn't budge as your mind screamed "I'm here!" Into the void.

You weren't sure how long you floated, disembodied in the darkness when another voice pushed through pulling you towards it.

To be, or not to be, that is the question:

You slowly opened your eyes, a soft light shone through the room, licking the stone ceiling when the familiar voice sounded again "y/n?" Slowly tilting your head you couldn't help smile seeing Alrik sat next to you, book in hand "a...alrik..." you sighed, your voice hoarse and strained seeing him smile "thank the norns." He sighed, spotting a tear run down his cheek you slid your hand closer to him feeling his engulph yours. "We...we were afraid you may not wake." He said shakely looking down. "W..what.." you whispered, trying to clear your throat "you were...run through." He said looking back up at you "the king spoke to me of your bravery, that you saved his life." He said smiling "I did what I had to." You said trying to sit up, wincing at the pain in your chest when Alrik gently grabbed your arm "no y/n, you must rest." He said pressing your shoulder back down.

"Ah fuck." You hissed placing a hand on your chest feeling the bandages "h...how long..." you asked seeing Alrik reach over to the table "it has been two weeks since the king brought you back." He said filling a cup with water "two weeks.." you whispered feeling your eyes burn "yes, you lost a great deal of blood." He said "now lift up a bit." He said gently placing his hand under your head he brought the cup to your lips tilting it back slowly you couldn't stop the moan that escaped you as the ice cold water hit your tongue. "Easy, not too fast." He cooed pulling the cup back. "When you are ready I will have food brought up, but you must go slow." He said sternly. "Where...is Loki..." you trailed off looking around "He has sat with you from the beginning, but I told him he needed to rest so I made him leave." He smiled making you laugh. "You made the fierce king of Jotunhiem take a nap?" You laughed gritting your teeth through the pain. "It was either he went willingly or I would drag him, he chose the former." He said, you both laughing.

"Oh I wish I could have seen that." You said wiping a tear from your eye. "I can be quite persistent." He said smiling "I can see that." You said looking into the fire. "What were you reading?" You asked seeing the book on the bed. "Oh, it is one of the Kings favorites, Hamlet by a man named shakespear." He said picking it up "the king has a great love for the written word, this is a midgardian author and while he usually doesn't enjoy their literature he is quite fond of this one." He said opening it back up. "Would you...if you don't mind..." you started seeing him smile "lay back and I shall continue." He said clearing his throat. You pressed your head back to the pillow, closing your eyes you focused on his voice as you drifted off back into a deep slumber.

Washing your hands you slowly made your way out of the en suite bracing against the wall seeing Alrik walk in with a tray in his hand "y/n, you are supposed to be resting." He scolded setting the tray on the bed quickly walking over holding out his hand "my apologies, but nature waits for no one." You laughed placing your palm in his "well, alright then I suppose I can understand that." He said guiding you back to the bed "I brought you some soup and fresh fruit." He said nodding at the tray "Alrik, it has been several days now, when will i get actual food?" You whined hearing him laugh "when I believe your stomach can handle it." He said helping you onto the bed, fluffing the pillows behind you before pulling the furs up over your legs "um, has Loki come by?" You asked quietly looking down as he set the tray on your lap. "He has, you were sleeping and I told him not to disturb you." He said taking a seat next to you. "I...I miss him." You whispered stirring your spoon through the soup "He does as well, but he knows you must heal, you have been through a great deal." He said making you sigh.

"Do not fret, you will see him soon I assure you." He smiled standing up walking to the fireplace. "Sure..." you sighed setting your spoon down. "What is the matter?" He asked stoking the fire. "Alrik, what if..." you trailed off leaning back against the headboard "what if he...doesn't want me." You asked quietly looking down at your lap "well that's preposterous, of course he does." Alrik said rejoining you on the bed "but what if he changed his mind? He's jotun...I'm asgardian...we..." you sighed feeling your eyes burn "when we were in Asgard he...he spoke of her..." you said looking into the fire "y/n..." Alrik started when you shook your head "He called her the woman he loved." You said fidgeting with your fingers "how am I to compare to his warrior princess?" You asked feeling a tear slide down your cheek.

"Dear Y/n, that was long ago. Yes he loved her, he mourned her but he has let her go." Alrik said grabbing your hand squeezing "I know him better then most and I assure you if he did not feel the same for you, you would not be here now." He said rubbing the back of your hand with his thumb. "Trust me when I say your feelings are not in vain, but you will need to speak to him, it is not my place to say how he feels." He said squeezing your hand again before letting go "but he has not come, how am I speak to him when I do not see him?" You asked crossing your arms "He has been occupied with the princess from vanahiem... and not in the way you think." He said as you opened your mouth "he tried her for treason and had her sent home, she has been banished from this realm." He said as you nodded.

"Well can he come now?" You asked biting your lip. "Unfortunately no, he is in Asgard presently." Alrik said looking down "wha...why?" You asked sitting up "he has been meeting with the Allmother and the new King...Thor." he said "they have been negotiating the return of the casket of ancient winters to our people and getting to know eachother better." He said smiling. "They have alot of catching up to do." He said standing up "but the moment he returns I will tell him you are requesting to see him." He said as you nodded. "Alright..." you sighed settling back. "Eat and rest, I will inform you the moment he returns" He said walking to the door "and y/n..." he said making you look up "be patient with him, his path has not been an easy one." He said opening the door "i...I will." You smiled as he walked out closing the door behind him. "Loki..." you whispered, closing your eyes you tilted your head back against the headboard hoping Alrik was right.

You tossed and turned unable to get comfortable as your mind raced. It had been another few days and still no word from Loki and it was making you anxious. Maybe he has changed his mind you thought as you sat up running a hand through your hair. You pulled the furs back, swinging your legs over the side gasping as your feet touched the cold stone floor. "Where are those..." you trailed off spotting the fur slippers Alrik gave you by the fireplace. You pushed yourself up, your knees wobbling as you made your way to the chair next to the fire, you sat down slipping them on looking around spotting the dark green robe he had left on the bed. "Maybe a walk will help clear my mind." You said to yourself gripping the sides of the chair you stood up, walking over you slipped the robe on tieing it, the material cascading down pooling around your feet reminding you of the long dresses princesses wore.

You pulled it up around your neck, bringing the soft material to your nose closing your eyes inhaling deeply. Loki's scent lingered on it, flooding your senses reminding you of the night in the bathing chambers, the feel of his cool skin pressed to yours, the way his eyes pierced your soul making you shiver when you thought back over the last few weeks, how he hadn't come and seen you...the trips to Asgard, he's probably arranging your return your mind raced, opening your eyes a tear slipping down your cheek making you sigh "one more look around, for old times sake." You said wiping your cheek you slowly opened the door peeking your head out.

The sitting room was dark save for the fire burning low in the fireplace. You tried to take a deep breath, a dull ache still present in your chest as you slowly exhaled lifting the front of the robe you slowly walked towards the door, the material trailing behind you reminding you of how much larger he was when you heard a soft groan come from the darkness making you freeze. You turned your head, squinting seeing a large figure laying on the chaise that you once called yours. "Alrik?" You whispered, earning another groan as you slowly crept closer, your eyes adjusting seeing the figure was definitely larger then you yet not as much as Alrik. "Loki..." you breathed stepping next to the chaise you looked him up an down. One long leg hung over the side, his bare foot sitting on the floor while the other bent at the knee leaning against the back, his long fingers linked over his stomach. Your eyes traveled up watching his chest slowly move up and down with each breath.

He can't be comfortable you thought seeing his head propped up on the arm a small pillow under his neck, loose stands of his ebony hair hung down curtaining part of his face. You slowly reached out, your fingers grazing his skin as you gently pushed his hair back hearing him sigh when a hand suddenly grabbed your wrist pulling you forward, freezing feeling a sharp object pressed to your throat "l...loki?" You whispered closing your eyes "y/n?" He asked, quickly pulling the object away from your neck, looking down seeing it was a dagger as it hit the floor, the light reflecting on the blade "i...I'm sorry, I didn't meant to disturb you, i..." you rambled as he quickly released your wrist, taking a few steps back you watched him sit up.

"You did not, I have just learned to sleep lightly." He said, his deep voice heavy witj sleep running a hand through his hair. "How are you feeling?" He asked looking up at you "why haven't you come to see me?" You asked taking a small step closer "I have, you were resting." He explained leaning back spreading his knees apart "and...your trips to Asgard..." you trailed off looking down "what of them?" He asked sharply "are you..." you sighed rubbing your wrist looking up into his eyes "do you plan on sending me back?" You rushed out biting your lip "wha...no." He said sternly leaning forward "unless...that is what you wish." He said quietly as you nodded, his eyes trailing down to your wrist. "D...did I hurt you?" He whispered as you shook your head "no, I was only startled." You said seeing him hold his hand out "may I see?"

You took another step forward, standing between his parted legs he grabbed your wrist to see if he had bruised you...gently pushing the sleeve of the robe to your elbow his fingers ghosting over your skin as they traveled back down to your wrist, your eyes fluttering shut at the sensation "how does that feel?" He asked, his cold fingertips trailing along your warm skin leaving goosebumps in their wake "g...good." you breathed opening your eyes they met his as he brought your wrist to his lips, placing a soft kiss on the inside "l...loki..." you breathed when he moved down kissing your palm "hmm?" He hummed bringing your fingertips to his lips "i...I don't want to go back." You whispered, gasping as his lips wrapped around your finger sucking lighlty, his cold tongue running the length of your finger as he slowly moved his head back, arousal pooling inside you as he pulled off your finger with a quiet pop.

"Then stay here...with me." He said lacing his fingers with yours, his ruby eyes soft as they met yours again. You reached your free hand out, cupping his cheek watching his eyes flutter shut as your fingers traced the ridges along his skin. You pulled away from him making his eyes shoot open "y/n..." he whispered as you reached up untying the robe "what are you..." he trailed off as you reached down lifting your shift you placed your knees on either side of his thighs, straddling his lap bracing yourself on his broad shoulders "i...I do not think this is wise." He stuttered as you kneeled up making him crane his neck up to look at you. "You are still healing y/n." He said more sternly, his voice wavering near the end making you smile. "Shut up Loki." You purred leaning down you pressed your lips to his.

Your fingers gripped his tunic tightly while the other traveled up to lace through his hair cupping the back of his head you tugged his hair lightly skimming your tongue along his lower lip, a groan escaping his mouth as he parted his lips. You slid your tongue into his waiting mouth, slowly swirling your tongue with his earning another groan when you felt his hands slide up your bare thighs towards the hem of your shift. Tilting his head he teased your tongue with his sliding his hands slowly up your sides to your shoulders, gripping the robe in both hands he slid it down your arms to your elbows, his fingers moving with precision back to the straps of your shift, sliding his fingers under he slowly slid them down joining the robe.

You moaned into his mouth feeling his hand slide across the bare skin of your back, his fingertips ghosting across the newly scarred flesh. He pulled back slightly, his lips trailed kisses across your jaw down your neck. You dropped your arms to your sides letting the robe slip off your arms and slide to the floor as he pulled the shift down, lifting your arms you let him slide it off pooling at your waist leaving your chest bare to him.

You instinctively lifted your arms to cover yourself when he gently grabbed your wrists, eyes meeting yours shuddering seeing his pupils blown wide "please...do not hide from me." You snapped making him fall silent, his hands sliding down your arms as realization hit him

"y/n, please hear me when I say that was my past." He said cupping your cheeks in his large hands "you are my future." He smiled rubbing your cheek with his thumb "my asgardian." He said making you smile. "And I will spend the rest of my days showing you how much I love you." He said pulling you forward pressing your forehead to his "I love you too Loki...my king." You whispered feeling him twitch inside you "mmm...you have no idea what you do to me." He growled closing his eyes "but you are about to find out." He said lacing his hands under your thighs he stood up as you quickly gripped his shoulders wrapping your legs around his waist "let me show you how...deep my feelings are." He cooed waking towards the bed chamber capturing your lips with his.

Pulling back as he gently laid you on the bed leaning over you feeling him harden inside you "Loki..." you moaned rocking your hips up to his "I do hope you like my chambers, you will be spending a great deal of time here." Aaaaahhhhh i had such a hard time trying to decide on a piece! But I finally decided on a YuNeva one that I write a few months ago that I just completely adore, now this hasn’t been published yet, but it will be a part of “Endevaors of Gods and Mortals”!

“ Well then…help me become a full God that way it won’t take as long.” Neva proposed, and Yuno frowned a bit as he crossed his arms. “ If you help me become a full God, I’ll help you become the next King of Gods. It’s a win-win for both of us.”

“ I thought you were already planning on supporting me becoming the next King of Gods?” He asked with a raised brow, and she nodded.

“ I am. But if you help me, it’ll only double my support. Because I’ll not only be supporting you as a fellow God, but also as your wife.” She told him with a small grin, and Yuno hummed in thought for a moment before he looked at her seriously.

“ No thanks.”

“ W-What? Why not?” She exclaimed in surprise, her purple eyes slightly wide. She thought he would easily agree to this since he had been pretty persistent in asking her to marry him.

“ Because if I help you become a God, would you have really earned it? All of the Gods in Elysia worked hard to become a God, and they did it on their own. So would it really be right and fair if I helped you become one?” He asked curiously, and he watched as he blushed and looked away.

He had a point, but that didn’t mean she liked it.

“ Says the man who was already born as a God.” She muttered with a small pout as she looked away.

“ I was born a half-God. I still had to work hard to become a full one just like everyone else, and I did it without my parents' help,” He told her before he reached out and patted her head. “ And you’re just as strong and amazing as I am, if not more. So I think you’ll be able to do it without my help.”

Neva’s head snapped in Yuno’s direction, her face bright red because of him patting her head and because of his compliment.

“ What happens if I never become one? Or if it takes a millennia?”

“ You’ll become one,” He said firmly, leaving no room for argument. “ And when you do, we'll get married. Even if it takes a decade, a century, or a millennia.”

“ You’ll wait a millennia to marry me?”

“ I’ll wait 6 if I have to.”

“ Why?”

“ Because…you’re worth the wait.”

Aaahhh another hard one :wah:, i have so many, but this little piece from “Children of the Future Chapter 15” just always makes me giggle because of how silly it is 😆!

“ Sir,” a magic knight shouted as he ran into Julius’s office. Julius stood abruptly and looked at the man.

“ What is it?”

“ We have an intruder inside the castle! Apparently they’re a spatial mage which explains how he got in, luckily we were able to apprehend him without difficulty. He…He’s a bit of a coward.” The magic knight muttered as suddenly shouting could be heard behind him.

“ Please let me go! It was an accident I hadn’t meant to just pop in here! I can assure you this will never happen again! Please please let me go! I’m too pretty to be tortured and I’m too young to die!” The young man shouted as he was dragged into Julius’s office. Julius and Marx blinked.

The young man had shoulder length pink hair that was partially tied into a ponytail. His suit was a mixture of burgundy and black, his eyes were a light purple color as well, but what really stood out was the robe he was wearing. A Black Bulls robe to be exact.

The one that I instantly think of are the poems in “A Fractured Diamond” but…considering Laura helped me write them I can’t say I wrote them all by myself 😆! But this one from my Alistar x Hikari “Rain” fic is a close second, and is one I wrote by myself!

The boy didn’t even seem to notice her presence, he stayed in the same spot, in the same position, as she walked up to him. Hikari had known the boy pretty much her entire life, they weren’t very close though as they were in two separate squads, but she had met him numerous times and found him pleasant to be around. Even if he could be a little bit of a ‘by the rules’ type, but he was always kind and polite to her. This didn’t even look like the same boy.

“ Hurt...it hurts…” Alistar struggled to get out, his voice was hoarse as though he had been screaming, there were vines wrapped around his legs and ankles, but they didn’t look tight enough to be hurting him.

“ What hurts?” She asked him as she looked around his body, his shirt was slightly torn, but he had no wounds.

“ Everything…” Alistar told Hikari so softly that she almost missed it, her head shot in his direction. Sweat was dripping down his face as though he were in extreme agony. But when he finally moved his eyes to look at hers she gasped; his eyes, they held a different kind of pain in them. Alistar wasn’t talking about physical pain, he was talking about a different kind of pain, one that couldn’t be seen.

“ Look, I know you’re hurting right now, and I’ll do what I can to help you. But just because you’re hurting, doesn’t give you the right to be hurting others too!” Hikari shouted, shocking both Alistar and Yami. Alistar gaped at the young brunette. She could understand he was hurting and that in return he wanted others to hurt as well, but that didn’t mean it was the right thing to do!

“ I…” He trailed off, his eyes suddenly searching hers, for what neither really knew. But the vines that surrounded them suddenly began to vanish. “ I don’t want to hurt anyone else.” He finished, his voice breaking, Hikari instantly looked away sheepishly. She hadn’t meant to be so harsh.

Last time I shared my thoughts on will the party and the rest of the group notice changes in Blondie's and Steve's behavior and their feelings for each other I kinda forgot that Lucas is king and knows everything. So this time, I hope I won't mess up.

So, once again, Lucas is king. He knows everything. Period.

Max has a special connection with both Steve and Blondie and will def notice that something has changed. Will probably be the first (after Lucas) to figure them out.

Will knows that there's def something on Blondie's part because… Well, he just knows how unrequited love looks like.

El doesn't pay much of attention, but will be happy for them after everything is revealed.

Mike is oblivious.

So is Dustin.

Nancy is suspicious but won't rush to conclusions til the very end.

Jonathan doesn't care and won't be surprised after everything is revealed.

Argyle either somehow knows everything or will share Mike's and Dustin's reactions. (They will look like Steve and Blondie have just grown up second heads).

Robin will definitely sense that something changed in Steve's behavior but won't pay much attention. Maybe Eddie will make a joke. Something like “looks like they were bitten by the same demobat and it's poison has a side effect. Otherwise, I don't have another explanation why they act differently now”. And then Robin will look closely.

Eddie, just like Robin will sense that something has changed, especially on Blondie's part, but will respectfully wait till she tells herself.

Hope that's accurate.

answering this ask with the lil fic itself here you go;

Macaque nuzzled against Wukong, the Monkey King running his free hand through Macaque’s fur as he used the other to scroll through his saved videos on his laptop. They’d both wanted to watch something, but the power had gone out a little over an hour ago, leaving them with nothing other than the random videos Wukong had downloaded over the years.

Wukong hovered over a file of videos labeled simply as “hilarious”. He paused, and nudged Macaque slightly to get him to sit up a bit and look at the screen.

“Should we?” He asked. Macaque let out a little noise of neither disapproval nor agreement.

“Your sense of humour sucks.” He muttered, settling back down against Wukong. “But it’s better than having nothing on, I guess.”

Despite those words, a few minutes later, Macaque was the first to let out a small giggle, flickering silver.

“I thought you said my sense of humour sucked?” Wukong asked, stifling a giggle of his own.

“...Shut up.” Macaque muttered.

Within ten seconds he was giggling again, his glow flickering between silver and purple.

After another half a second, Wukong started giggling too, his golden glow lighting up the room a little more than just Macaque’s silver and purple one did.

They stayed like that for a while, giggling softly at the videos on the laptop screen.

And then there was a clip of someone getting smacked in the face, and Macaque snorted.

He paused, throwing a hand over his mouth, and Wukong briefly stopped as well,

Before taking in the expression on Macaque’s face and started laughing, slightly louder than before, his golden glow growing stronger. Macaque’s expression twitched, and then he was smirking, giggling again as he gently smacked Wukong on the arm, trying to make him stop, which only succeeded in making Wukong laugh harder.

Macaque snorted again, and hid his face against Wukong’s shoulder, unable to stop himself from continuing to giggle as Wukong’s laughter did not stop.

....And then there were squeaks.

Macaque’s ears twitched, as he pulled back slightly to look up, seeing that Wukong was now trying to stop laughing, but finding himself incapable of it as small squeaks and chirps mixed in with his laughter.

It took a few seconds for Macaque’s mind to reboot to the point of understanding that Wukong was laughing so hard he was reverting to making monkey noises. All over the fact that Macaque snorted.

The absurdity of the situation hit him all at once, and immediately Macaque was laughing almost louder than Wukong was.

You almost wouldn’t have noticed the power was out from how bright they were making the room, the two of them having long since forgotten about the presence of the laptop, simply laughing at each other. Whenever they’d try to settle down a bit, one of them would giggle or let out a small amused noise and they’d be right back where they started again.

It took them more than an hour to settle down to the point of just giggling again.

Wukong leaned forwards and started putting gentle, slightly shaky kisses on Macaque’s face and ears, Macaque letting out small squeaks of his own mixed with his giggling.

They both ended staying up much later than intended, but did eventually manage to fall asleep, still on the couch, their tails wrapped around each other, Macaque pulled practically on top of Wukong, small, comforted and relaxed smiles on both of their faces.

hey lumi! I just thought of another question I wanted to ask you, other than batb, which live action remake do you think is the best? I haven't seen any and I want an expert opinion 😄

oh my gosh!!!!! i’m so honored. and i’m also SO autistic so i did so much more here than you asked. but anyway i wanted to wait to answer this until today because the little mermaid (2023) just dropped on disney+ and i JUST watched it for the first time. so i can include it in my list!!

of course prefacing with these are all my personal opinions, im not a film expert (and i pray to God i never am) i just like what i like! so without further ado: my thoughts! also this is just in chronological order, not ranked.

alice in wonderland (2010) - dude!! this was SUCH a hyperfixation for me when i was a kid. somehow, batb 2017 is NOT the first live action disney movie i’ve been utterly obsessed with. this movie is so good. i love the lightly gothic, mysterious fantasy aesthetic that is has. i love the wardrobe, i want to wear every outfit alice wears. i love how dark it is, like there’s such an edge to it while still being pleasant and fun enough to respectably be a disney movie. johnny depp does a fantastic job of course, (purely discussing his acting abilities here) he truly brings the madness into the mad hatter. all the acting is fantastic though. i highly recommend this film. you don’t really need to have seen the 1951 cartoon, i hadn’t, but it doesn’t hurt to! (i don’t recommend the sequel, alice through the looking glass, though. they really should’ve quit while they were ahead on this one)

maleficent (2014) & maleficent: mistress of evil (2019) - i enjoyed both of these!! i actually liked the second one more, but either way, it’s such a fun take on sleeping beauty. and this is coming from someone who LOVES sleeping beauty 1959!! it’s different obviously but it really is a good time, absolutely worth watching.

cinderella (2015) - beautiful! lovely!! not the most exciting film honestly but i do love the aesthetics and wardrobe. it’s a really pretty, pleasant movie. i’d love to rewatch it sometime! if only disney+ had it! which it doesn’t! for some inexplicable reason!!

beauty and the beast (2017) - i know you said besides my wife but obviously i have to still list it because. that’s my wife. anyway perfect film no notes!

the nutcracker and the four realms (2018) - i wanted to like this one so much more than i did. but it was just, so weird. it derails from canon in a way that isn’t enjoyable. ah. twas a let down, for me.

christopher robin (2018) - i don’t remember much honestly but it’s cute!! certainly worth a watch, but i don’t recall anything too special about it. it did make me cry though (that’s not hard for me to do at movies, to be fair)

mary poppins returns (2018) - CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH!! THIS MOVIE IS LIKE IF JOY WAS TURNED INTO A FILM!!!! AAAHHH!!! :) SO LOVELY SO WONDERFUL!!!

the lion king (2019) - :/ genuinely not worth your time. it was TOO similar to the cartoon in terms of storyline, so it felt incredibly pointless to me. plus, it’s kind of boring that they look like real lions. i felt like i was watching animal planet but then pulled out of reality whenever they spoke or sang afjskfj

aladdin (2019) - ever since i saw this, i’ve only ever had three takeaways, and i’ll say them like a compliment sandwich. 1. visually STUNNING. the colors and the choreography, the people! all very beautiful. 2. the romance was… very flat? i honestly kept forgetting there was a love story going on. when they kiss at the end i was like “OOOHHH RIGHT!!” lmao. there’s just so much other stuff going on, jasmine & aladdin’s love story really fell to the wayside for me. 3. i LOVED that they gave jasmine her own song. she’s like the only disney princess that didn’t have her own song, somehow, so i was happy they gave her one and it was SO good. i remember it giving me chills on the first listen. — so, all in all, it was fine. not the worst but also not a personal favorite. worth a watch.

mulan (2020) - BLEGH sorry i almost threw up a little. maybe the worst live action remake of all time? let’s think: what are the best parts of mulan 1998? the music? mushu? shang’s bisexuality? shang, in general?? WELL LOOK NO FURTHER BECAUSE THIS HAS NONE OF THAT!!! :) it’s genuinely just… so bad. they took the basic concept and turned it into a freaky ass action movie. they make it so mulan was like, gifted from a young age with superhuman abilities (calling it chi, which, i don’t know the full story but i believe there was some major cultural appropriation that occured) instead of just being a normal badass human!!! and it wasn’t the villain from the cartoon it was a random witch. nothing made sense and it was stripped of everything that makes mulan one of the greatest disney films of all time. *godfather voice* look how they massacred my boy.

the little mermaid (2023) - so honestly i never really liked the original cartoon. it just never clicked with me. but i had every bit of hope that this one would maybe bring it to life for me!! and… well, it wasn’t bad! it was visually lovely and the music was fun. i just don’t think i’m a “love at first sight” kind of person. but eric was an incredibly likable nerd boy, sebastian the crab was funny, and ursula was SCARY. especially at the end oh my gosh???? anyway. worth a watch, but not my personal cup of tea. ariel and eric get points for dancing a bit AND they hugged at the end which was really sweet. couples Do Not hug enough in media.

lastly, i can’t comment on: peter pan & wendy (2023), the jungle book (2016), dumbo (2019), lady and the tramp (2019), and cruella (2021), because i have not seen them. i will absolutely note though that i despise cruella 2021 in solidarity with my friend @freakwiththeknifecollection because it blatantly disregards the canon of 101 dalmatians 1961 and they couldn’t even like?? train the dogs?? for ONE scene?? huge huge mess. i’m just scratching the surface. if you want a live action cruella, look no further than 101 dalmatians 1996. top tier live action that i loved as a kid!!

Some books I have read in 2023

(mostly romance fantasy, but not only that)

I'm not really a bookworm, but I try to read about one book per month. This year I have read 17 books (overachiever!), most of them romance fantasy novels, but some also of a different fantasy genre. Here's a selection of these (the ones I have something to say about), not sure it interests anyone but maybe there's someone out there looking for a recommendation or a non-recommendation. I will only write my thoughts on the book, not the synopsis or details about the plot, but there will be links to the page on Goodreads. Here are the books I'll talk about after the "keep reading" break:

Spinning Silver - Naomi Novik

This was my second attempt with this book - my first attempt ended in DNF, because I was extremely confused by the POVs (it contains multiple POVs in first person, without an indication of who's talking at the beginning of the chapter) and somehow I was not hooked in the story. My second attempt much later went differently, this time I was more invested in the story - I liked the main character a lot and ofc given my pattern with evil villains with long white or blond hair, I have a soft spot for the Staryk king. The POVs are still a little confusing, but it was remarkable how past the first lines of confusion, you could recognize who was talking because of the individual styles of the characters.

From Blood and Ash - Jennifer L Armentrout

I'm going to say what everyone says: if you liked ACOTAR and are looking for something of the similar kind, this book is for you. BUT, I'll admit I liked this one more than ACOTAR, because I liked both main characters a lot. Usually I find the MMC in these books a bit irritating (unless they're evil kings with long blond hair like the Staryk king above) but this time I liked him. I also enjoyed the worldbuilding, it kinda has to do with vampires but with a different take than the traditional one or the Twilight one. Overall interesting. It ends with somewhat a cliffhanger but I was not really eager to continue with the series yet, so I haven't read the other books.

Warbreaker - Brandon Sanderson

Aaahhh, Warbreaker. This was my very first BrandoSando book and I finally understood why everyone in my book club is such a huge fan of this writer. The worldbuilding and the magic system here were very original and interesting, and well thought (though I think some parts of how magic worked were a complication that could have been avoided). Each of the characters has their own personality which is well described and fleshed out, and the plot is engaging. If I was a more avid reader, I would have definitely read the other books of the Cosmere, but I'm a lazy reader so for now this is the only book by this author I have read.

The House in the Cerulean Sea - TJ Klune

This was such a cozy read! I loved this book, the plot maybe was not epic but I was so impressed by the characterization given to each character - also, the audiobook version on Audible was very well done in this regard. I loved each and every one of the children who appear in this book, it is one of those books that just make you smile the whole time and leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart.

Kiss of Death - Alice Wilde

I'm not going to say much about this book - I'll just say that this was an example of what could happen when you trust a reel on Instagram or a video on TikTok. This book was definitely not what the reel on Instagram that kept popping up in my feed promised: I expected a dark romance with a cool villain, and there was nothing of that, I even found it rather childish at times. It was not for me.

The Serpent and the Wings of Night - Carissa Broadbent

This is another romance (with explicit scenes), and it also relates to vampires. Very interesting worldbuilding, and I liked the main character. I also kinda liked the MMC, yeah. What I liked the most was the plot and the various fights and challenges, rather than the romance per se. But the romance was good as well. It ends with a cliffhanger, but I have not yet read the sequel.

King of Battle and Blood - Scarlet St. Clair

Another one with vampires. I'm not even a fan of vampire stories (I strongly dislike Twilight) but this year apparently I stumbled against everything that has been written about vampires in the last ten years? Anyway, this one was OK - another romance (with spice), I was not sure I understood how these vampires worked so maybe I would have needed a bit more explanations at the beginning, to know what we're dealing with. Overall I have forgotten what this book is exactly about and the characters, so maybe I would not put it on the top of my favourites this year. I can recommend if you’re already a romance fantasy reader, simply because this book is always in all rankings, for your “knowledge of the field”.

Nettle & Bone - T Kingfisher and

A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking - T Kingfisher

I have read these two books one after the other, and I liked both a lot. I can't really remember the plot (usually I forget the plot of a book as soon as I finish it), but I enjoyed the witty writing style, smiled and laughed a lot while reading, and loved the characters.

The Bridge Kingdom - Danielle L Jensen and

The Traitor Queen - Danielle L Jensen

A nice series, I think it was a well-written enemies-to-lovers (I don't remember if it contains explicit scenes, probably it does). The plot was interesting and the two main characters were likable, so overall I can recommend the series to those who are into romance fantasy.

Hyperversum trilogy - Cecilia Randall

Well this year I actually only read the 2nd and 3rd (I have read the first one last year), anyway - this one is for Italians only, I fear, because there is unfortunately no translation available. Which is a shame, because this is one of my favourite series ever. I'm not sure if this trilogy is to be classified under fantasy but I guess so, anyway it has to do with time travel and history (medieval). If you are Italian and something like this can be of interest for you, then I recommend it!

Of course, I enjoy getting feedback, and every writer needs support. I'm no exception in this. I feel more inspired when people comment on my stories, ask questions about them, or support me otherwise. Many times that might even encourage me to work faster or give me inspiration to work on the next story.

This is why I try to find beta readers for my stories. Their support helps me to push forward when I'm struggling with writing. They are also needed for other things, but getting feedback and support is an important part.

Not receiving feedback or support would be sad. But on the other hand, I think that I write my stories first and foremost for myself (when it comes to fan fiction). I'm my own target audience. So, I want to enjoy what I'm doing; if the other people like the same thing, it is a plus.

So... if there isn't anyone else waiting for my text, that might make me work a bit slower. But I still don't stop writing, and there are pieces I don't even publish because they are only for my personal pleasure. So, I guess being a bit self-sufficient helps with this.

My thoughts on the rest of Crystalized!!!

So... I'm obviously extremely late to the party 😅

I kinda fell out of the fandom and the show, which is a bit sad since I've been a long time fan since the Masters of Spinjitzu era, but I do wanna finish it. Especially since more stuff is coming this way as well between Dragon Rising and that new LEGO Dreamzzz! BACK TO THE LEGO RABBIT HOLE I GO! 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I watched the season until episode 12 so they way I left it was Lloyd being kidnapped (AGAIN), the guys are criminals, there's an evil organization made of the villains of Ninjago and Harumi is back. So, troubles

Now, I think I got a couple of spoilers, although I'm not 100% sure. I know everything is well at the end because of course it is, I know Garmadon comes back which I really wanna see, the Overlord is back because of course it's the flipping last season after all and I think Haruki gets... redemption? 🤨

I thought her dying the way her parents did because of her own actions was enough but eh, what do I know 😅😅 Not a fan of this but who knows, maybe it's gonna be good!

Don't think people care about these thoughts, but I like putting them down so eh 🙃

I might be a little salty in these, there are things I like about this last season but others I think are annoying. I feel like it's inevitable given how long Ninjago went on and in general it's going good. Still, this is me half happy half complaining 🙃 Of course these are only my opinions

It would be a dark fic that shows how Yuuji breaks down after losing that connection to Sukuna. He feels so ashamed and so guilty for thinking that way, but he can't help it, he MISSES always having Sukuna with him.

I think that could be so interesting to explore. Yuuji grieveing that feeling of belonging even though it meant belonging to an evil curse. But maybe part of him was convinced this is the only kind of "love" he deserves. AAAHHH
