I don't know why more fic writers don't utilise the Wayne Gardens Halfway House for criminals and then the consequent Wayne Enterprises employment like Bruce Wayne is out here doing his darndest do give the Rogues a safer and easier transition into the real world post Arkham and yet I don't think I've ever come across a Halfway house fic once. (This is me begging for fic recs about this BTW feel free to gimme)

Like this concept is from the btas episode Double Talk where Arnold (Scarface's ventriloquist) is well enough to leave Arkham and he gets to the House, and he has a job in the Wayne Enterprises mail room. It's a very sad episode for other reasons but it's still so touching how much Bruce tried to make this difficult period of house finding and job searching all but done for them already.

So what I'm getting at here is what if more of the Rogues got to this point.

Ideas under the cut

Harley decorating her room however she wants and putting Ivy's plants in there because she doesn't have to worry about if doctors or guards will make a fuss about it. This is her space. She has a job now, too. A paper pushing job, but she's in a programme to get her licence back and everything is looking up for her! Thanks Bruce!

Edward making a dnd campaign group with his fellow Halfway House rogues because Harley commented that once curfew sets in she doesn't know what to do with herself. He shows up at work at Wayne Enterprises on the dot every morning, having set like 7 alarms so he doesn't sleep through because he isn't going to waste his one chance. He's the game developer in their suspiciously newly minted game department.

Plus, he has Temple Fugate to wake him up, who lives right next door and is up before everyone else. Man knows how to bake. He bakes and says that it's a calming activity with a set schedule that if he deviates from it will be catastrophic. Besides, it's nice to have hobbies.

At this point, Jonathan Crane, also in a programme to get his licence back, comments about how he'll probably be back in Arkham sooner than later. Harley laughs. "You can't SERIOUSLY be thinking of applying as a doctor there AGAIN?" And Jonathan, with the biggest shite-eating grin, just says: "Oh who's to say. Maybe just to see the reactions."

Gimme a fic where they break away from the cyclical status quo. Where you can feel the hope . Where they all treat this as seriously as they can because Bruce Wayne truly believes in them. And that's so rare. After everything that's happened.

Pamela who works in a botanical garden funded by Wayne Corp. Mr Fries who is allowed to research with scientists employed by Wayne Enterprises on how to cure his predicament. His wife Nora (Post movie) supporting him every step of the way (maybe she and Grace (Harvey's fiancee) are friends and helping each other as well as the men they love)

Harvey getting the operation finally and having a chance to recuperate. Though him, I think they might pull him quickly out of the Halfway House because he's a high profile man and some might think that being in a Halfway House would be beneath him. Maybe this works for him. He works as a lawyer in Wayne Enterprises and all he can say to Bruce, when he sees him is this: "Thank you for never giving up on me, old friend."

Though Harvey does get hooked on dnd and he does come by to play once a week. Edward is looking forward to a promotion to head of department.

They all know that sooner or later they'll need to leave the Halfway House and find different accommodation but they all tentatively agree that they won't push themselves before being fully, truly ready for it.

Harley points at Edward and tells him: "I'm gonna miss you guys so much! Why don't we all live together or get apartments in the same building like in a sitcom?"

And Jonathan is the only one who says he hates this idea, though it's very half-hearted and they know he isn't fighting the idea of that.

Waylon gets a job as a fisherman. Man is living out those A perfect Storm dreams of his. He gets paid the most from all of the Rogues because he's always been very materialistic and money means very little to Bruce Wayne.

Mary Dahl and Matt Hagen respectively get jobs working in a theatre group in Gotham. It isn't that visited, but they aren't ridiculed for being who they are. Romance because I ship them and I think this makes more sense than Waylon/Mary lmao. They're in counseling anyway so it's not like they can be that toxic to each other.

Speaking of romance~

The only one who's never gotten as far as the Wayne Gardens Halfway House is the Joker. But you see, that man can do whatever he puts his mind to. He's bored so he might as well speed run his way out of Arkham.

And everyone is worried about this. Because if there's one person who can undo all of their careful progress just by being his loathsome clown self, it's the Joker.

But he, just like all of them, winds up his alarm to get to his Wayne Enterprises job. He is nail bitingly saccharine to them. One time, he even washed the dishes that weren't his in the communal kitchen space. Something's off.

Once confronted, the Joker just smiles and says airily: "Oh pish-posh! I'm just in a good mood is all. I can finally see my boyfriend on a regular basis. Mon amour, Mon petit chou-fleur. Mon âme!"

Something is definitely off because Edward says that the Joker got a nicer job than all of them. He works CLOSELY to Bruce Wayne as his assistant. And that doesn't make sense. Why would Bruce Wayne let that happen? Surely he'd want to avoid someone like the Joker.

And it's Jonathan that sighs: "Do you think that his boyfriend IS Bruce Wayne?"

"No??? Why?? God??? God no???"

"Think about it. Bruce Wayne is the 1%, they're all very weird people with kinks that us in the psychology department would relish in untangling. What's some clown fuckery on the side? If anything, that's a lot tamer than what most of his contemporaries are doing behind closed doors."

Immediate horror from everyone. Harley is the first one to shout: "If that good for nothing clown fucks up this good gig we got by breaking Bruce's heart I'm going to kill him!!"

So they confront the Joker by knocking on his room in the middle of the night. And maybe they shouldn't have done that because he's supposed to be out cold, having been prescribed sleeping pills and all that. But they knock again, nonetheless.

They hear a bang. And a crash from the inside. And half of the Rogues just kind of take a step back. Harley and Pamela are the ones who stay closest to the door. Pamela shouts: "Open up, clown!"

Jonathan narrows his eyes as he cranes his way towards the door, trying to make out the sounds on the other end. He coughs to swallow down a laugh: "There's a lot of moaning in there."

"Hey, hey, you're going to get us all in trouble if you've brought folks over! It's past curfew!" Harley yells.

And it's at this moment that the moaning kind of stops. There aren't any crashes. Someone grips the door handle from the inside and turns it open.

The Rogues all take yet another step back, this time all of them.

It's Batman. The portion of his face visible from the cowl is covered in red lipstick. He sighs, and his voice doesn't quite manage to lose that post make out tinge: "Nobody's going to get in trouble. I'll talk to Bruce Wayne and clear anything up. Go ahead and play your dnd. Thank you, goodbye." And just as he closes the door, the Joker erupts in a fit of laughter on the other end.

"I'LL TALK TO BRUCE WAYNE, HE SAYS! HA! OH!! OH, THAT'S SO FUNNY!!"

RimWorld: Anomaly

I want to tell y'all a story.

So. RimWorld's fourth DLC Anomaly released this week, and for the past two days I've been playing it almost non-stop. I'll put it below the cut because its obviously a crapton of spoilers, but I'm just kind of blown away at how much story this DLC adds to the infamous story generator game.

Like, I have over 4,000 hours in this game and this is the first time that its felt like its telling me an actual story.

Spoilers ahead! TW: child death in the context of this cruel cruel video game:

I had this colonist join named Bristle who was described as a "leathery stranger" with a unique ability - he can blow up animals (and people, presumably) with his mind into hunks of twisted flesh. I said, sure, why not! Join my colony, what's the worst that could happen?!

Well, the worst that could happen is he went and studied a monolith on the beach outside of my base and it teleported him into a strange grey labyrinth. Pretty much just as soon as he got here, he's now trapped in some kinda void maze. Great!

It took me a couple of rooms before I noticed the markings on the floor, so once I realized I could read them I examined every single one I could find.

The messages are... Evocative, but they start giving me names. I'm wondering this whole time, who is Raisa? And who is Tom? I checked all of my colonists - I don't have anyone by either name. Are they people I should know? Or... People I haven't met yet?

Fortunately, because Bristle had literally just joined my colony, he came with his own rifle and 12x fine meals, so he could actually bum around and hang out in the labyrinth for a pretty long time. I ended up mapping out the entire thing before his last 6 meals disappeared from his inventory.

I found a couple rooms with fleshspikes - those are these pink little flesh monsters with a giant protruding spike coming out of their heads? - but thanks to Bristle's ability to explode creatures with his mind, I just... Exploded it.

I also found a couple groves of trees underground, a couple of horses randomly, and some bottomless pits. I was tempted to walk over one just to see what would happen (and savescum out of it ofc), but I didn't end up doing it.

I'm really concerned about Tom and Raisa though. Are they okay? Did they make it out?

I'm especially concerned about Tom. That... Doesn't sound okay.

And then I push through yet another door.

This is Raisa... And Tom.

I gasped out loud in real life. Nora came over to check on me because holy shit, that's so sad. Suddenly their notes makes sense. The obelisk abducted a woman and her child, and they got stuck in here for who knows how long. The wounds they had indicated that a fleshspike had done this to them.

I went to the exit - I had found it earlier, I just wanted to keep exploring. Thankfully, everything that had been left behind was kicked out of the labyrinth with Bristle when it collapsed on itself and the obelisk itself vanished from sight.

Including Raisa and Tom. I had to give them a proper burial. Wish I could've done more.

The messages were all from Raisa after she lost her son Tom.

I had done the two researchers one ghoul story start because I wanted to dive right into the DLC, and one of those researchers, Rose, arrived pregnant. Baby Thorn is almost three years old and still doesn't have a name.

Its kind of funny, because when I first landed she idly wandered near the monument, and I had one of those gamer coincidences where she walked by it right at the same time I got the notification that she was pregnant.

So I wound up continuing this colony even though it was a crap start, thinking I'd get some kind of void baby out of the deal? Nope, normal baby, normal birth. He's just chilling in his crib being looked after by the whole community as happy as can be. She must've been pregnant on the screen where I selected her for my colony and I just missed that detail.

Another funny thing about this kid, is that his father is Unknown, and apparently Rose's ex was the ghoul Kaito that I also started with. So, presumably, it was her ghoul (ex) husband's son, but the game's code doesn't seem to be able to link him as the other parent, either because he's a ghoul or because it happened as part of the game's starting conditions. Also she's actually gay on her character sheet, so I dunno how that worked for them? Ehh, I'm not gunna judge.

Anyways, I'm thinking about naming him Tom.

Here's hoping he has a long and full life.

Since next COTF update is a bit Noa centered plus I've been playing with him in game the past couple days (and he's my little bb) I'll blabber about my favorite ex-pirate. 🤭💖

Noa was born in Selvadorada - there's a lot Noa doesn't know about his past. The little he does know are the very blurry early memories he had before he was taken in by pirates as a toddler and the little bits of information he was able to scrape up over time from his crewmates or the Freudian slip from his caretaker/Captain, Knox during one of his passionate drunken rants. He had no idea his mother was a witch until he after he had Adie and we actually learn in the coming update how he finds out about his Aunt Nora (via flashback). His way of connecting with his birth home is by embracing Selvadoradian culture by opening his failing restaurant, A Taste of Selvadorada.

Noa was raised by pirates - After the death of his mother when he was a toddler, Noa was taken in by pirates. Before he met Orion and the Briars, the pirates was the only family he ever knew. His captain, Captain Knox, was the closest thing he had to a father even if they had a rough relationship where it often felt like Knox resented Noa. He also considered Knox's son, Roman, as his brother; their relationship wasn't all that great either, especially as they got older. He grew up around liars and thieves and for his whole life that's what he had to become in order to survive. Even though Noa is no longer a pirate, he still has the instincts of one and is constantly having to shake away old habits.

Noa is still besties with Orion's ex - When Orion was 14/15, she dated the Sulani Chief's son, Sione. Sione is a really nice guy but he and Orion just wasn't a match plus her heart was destined for Noa whether she knew it or not so their breakup was inevitable. Noa and Sione both share a trauma of losing someone close to them which is how they ended up being friends. Years have past and they still talk often and consider each other soul brothers (and yes, Orion was a little annoyed at first but she's used to it lol )

Noa was named after his Aunt Nora - (did anyone figure this out yet? 🥹 ) Nora is not impressed nor pleased by this fact. Quite frankly, she doesn't particularly care for Noa at all. It's complicated...which leads to Fact 5:

Noa doesn't trust Nora - we get into the why next update but Noa can always tell when someone's lying to him or if he needs to keep his guard up. It's a trait you pick up when you're a pirate, it's how you survive. And all the bells are ringing when it comes to Nora.

My Proposal For A Generic Sports Show RWBY AU

Yes, I know it's a weird direction for a RWBY AU, just go with it.

I don't know what sport it would be, but here's my cast.

Qrow: The elite former player turned alcoholic failure after his career was ruined by... something. Forced to coach the Crap But Nice Protag Team with some sort of penalty if he doesn't. Starts off not really caring and being very frustrated by the poor state of the team. Starts to loosen up, probably stops drinking too, around the midpoint of the story. Probably has a relapse at the end of the 2nd act, maybe a love interest too.

Taiyang: Assistant coach who's mostly there to keep Qrow in line and cheer on Ruby and Yang. He also handles the morale, team cohesion, and physical conditioning stuff. Doesn't have the "eye for strategy" to be the head coach, at least at the start.

Summer: Still dead.

Raven: Still getting milk.

Ruby: Still the protagonist and the youngest of the main characters. Has a lot of talent, isn't the most skilled, and has a few areas she's really strong in. But one area she's terrible in, which just so happens to be Yang's specialty. Will make some mistakes that the more experienced players wouldn't. Some think she's really only on the team because her dad's a coach.

Weiss: Was supposed to be on the Elite But Assholes rival team, but left the team when they wanted to move Weiss to a different position, or something like that. With her being blacklisted from most of the other teams for that. She's pretty good, but not much of a team player, which causes some friction on the team.

Blake: Don't really know what to do with Blake honestly. Might have Adam play for the elite team and dump her. So basically she's just playing to spite Adam? Going to have to work on this one.

Yang: Good overall player, but amazing in one area. Definitely a lot of smack talk from her. Tends to make short sighted decisions when she's angry. Which is definitely going to screw the team over at some point.

Jaune: A last minute addition to the team who really doesn't know the sport and is mostly there to be a benchwarmer. Does terribly whenever he does play, at first, but gets better over the story. He'll still be the worst on the team, but better. Gets really good at the strategic side of the sport, kind of becomes a player coach. Definitely coming up with some awesome strategy during The Big Game.

Nora: Nora's just there for fun. She's also pretty good, but I don't really have any big plotline for her yet.

Pyrrha: Amazing player who decided not to play for the upstart team instead of the rivals. The best player on the team by a wide margin. Doesnt really connect with the rest of the team at first though, but she does eventually. 100% getting injured before The Big Game.

Ren: Nora dragged him along.

Ok, I'm having thoughts about S3 and a freshly possessed Billy who doesn't know what's happening to him but he knows it's something bad. He's waking up covered in blood and he's having all these weird nightmares and flashes of memory and he doesn't know what the fuck is happening, he doesn't understand, but he knows he's hurt someone and he knows it's going to happen again.

So he decides to go to the police. It goes against everything he believes, but he's a monster, right? He needs locking up. Putting down. At least then people will be safe. At least then he won't hurt anyone else.

So, in one of his rapidly decreasing lucid periods, he goes to the station. And he gets lucky. Because the air con is broken and the station is hot, stiflingly so. And it's just enough to weaken the Flayer and keep it at bay long enough that Billy gets a chance to talk to Hop who, at first, is happy enough with any excuse to get this punk kid behind bars. Teach him a lesson. Put him in his place. And at first he assumes that Billy's half sobbed, half screamed ramblings are something to do with drugs, some bad trip or something.

But then Billy talks about the shadow. And Hop really starts to listen. And he starts to worry. But he also starts to make a plan. Cause this Hargrove kid is a dick, that much is true, but he doesn't deserve this. No one does and, hey, they got this thing outta one kid, right? They can definitely do it again.

So Hop tries, by himself. He tells Billy's it's gonna be OK, that he's going to be fine, that it's not going to be pleasant, but they'll get this out of him, and that he needs to keep fighting, as much as he can, keep fighting, kid, with whatever you've got. You're gonna be OK.

And Hop just about manages to get Billy locked up and restrained in a cell, but he can see that it's a close thing; the kid is losing control and the thing is fighting back, and Hop remembers what Joyce told him about how they helped save Will, so he knows about cranking up the heat and talking through good memories, and he can do the first thing, sure, but he's kinda drawing a blank on the second. He barely knows Billy, beyond the trouble he's caused, most of Hop's interactions have involved issuing him yet another speeding ticket or seeing the tail end of the Camaro roaring away from a house party he's been sent to shut down, and Hop's pretty sure that kind of experience isn't gonna help him here. He knows he's gonna need some help from someone who actually knows Billy.

So Hop tries and tries, but he can't get hold of Max, and he can tell by the yells and the banging coming from the cell that he doesn't have long, so he calls the only other person he can think of. He calls Steve Harrington. And he knows that Steve and Billy didn't exactly have the best history, but Hop also knows that, along the way, something changed. He knows that Harrington's been in the passenger seat a couple of those times when Hop pulled Billy's car over, and he's pretty sure he's seen that same car parked up around Loch Nora.

So, it's a gamble, but he's got nothing else.

And Steve comes in. Hop's barely even started explaining the situation before Steve's agreeing to help, telling Hopper that he doesn't know Billy that well, not really, but he'll give it a shot, sure, and before Hopper can even warn him to be careful, Steve pulls up a chair right next to the cell door and starts to talk.

And it's not exactly groundbreaking, what Steve says, there's nothing big or emotional. He starts with, "Hey dude, you remember that game last month? The one against Westfield? You remember how we absolutely smashed them? The two of us and that whole, like, tag team play you came up with? Damn, man, that was awesome! They did not see that coming!" and then he's rambling about some time in the parking lot when Billy caught him singing along to a Queen song on the radio and, instead of mocking him, Billy joined in with his own air guitar solo before smirking and walking away. There are other things too, little in-jokes and references that Hopper can't make head nor tail of, smattered with advertising jingles and terrible impressions of people that apparently mean something to the both of them.

It's not much, not really. But that doesn't seem to matter.

Because it's working. Despite them being tiny things, all of Steve's little stories are having an effect.

Billy's fighting.

There are tears pouring down his cheeks and his nails are digging into his thighs hard enough to draw blood, but his eyes are fixed on Steve's and Hop can see how damn hard he's fighting.

And, this time, he's winning.

Alex is, of course, the ex who keeps going back. His eyes are sharp and his mouth is almost permanently compressed into one hard line. Henry looks over his shoulder and Alex is glaring into his glass or rebuffing people who try to get to know him, and all Henry feels is guilt because Alex knows the reason they wouldn't have worked out. Henry told him. He was honest in the breakup.

Henry's specialty is whisky cocktails. The Boulevardier is his favourite. His least favourite is a Pickleback. One, because it hardly takes any skill to make, and two because nobody ever eats all the pickles from the opened jar.

Alex deserves someone who loves out loud, Henry drunkenly tells Pez one night at their monthly mixology night, a tradition they've kept since the first bar they worked in together. Henry has to love in the quiet, at least until his inheritance comes in. He can't be out yet, not while Mary's got control of the purse strings. And yes, he feels like an absolute dickhead for that, but he can't pay for grad school on a bartender's salary.

June and Nora both know Alex doesn't exactly enjoy going to the bar, but Nora thinks it's best that Alex gets the masochism out of himself. June tags along one night and when Alex isn't looking, she sees Henry's expression. It makes her want to meddle.

Pez invites Henry to a mixology night. June invites Alex to a new bar. When they get there, they shove Henry and Alex at one another and hope this wasn't a colossal mistake.

So Henry doesn't ask Alex where he goes or why he has new cuts on his hands or what he gets up to whenever he's not in school — only looks at him as if all the burning questions he wants to send Alex's way was his newfound telepathic skill. Does so in the next few days because he can't just let go of things like that, and ultimately only stops when Alex finally shoots back a quizzical look at him. He doesn't look angry, per se, but the littlest hint of a challenge does start resting on his eyebrows whenever he spares Henry a glance.

So, the discord server I'm in was talking about pokemon insurgence, which reminded me of how I disliked Nora back then. Looking back, she really wasn't that bad, but I think the game still did her dirty. ESPECIALLY when she ended up having the damsel in distress in the end ( as I was told, I don't think I ever finished the game). So, after that lil convo, I decided to try and redesign Nova and rework some of her already existing aspects. Keep in mind, I haven't played the game in years, and I'm just going off memory and what I've been told. So without further ado....

Nora! Let's first discuss what I did to her story ( from what I could gather) first.

I don't believe it was ever specified when Nora was chosen by Celebi. We just assume that she has been before the player and Damian. In this version of her, she has been chosen by Celebi for a while. Long enough for her to train and try and master her abilities. Despite this, she'd rather not be the one of the prophecy. She prefers peace over conflict, and the burden and stress of being a chosen one has been on her shoulders for assumedly years. It's worse given how she thought she was the only one. The only one who could carry this burden. It was a lonely experience, even with Celebi. Though, despite this, this loneliness gave her a bit of an ego too. She's strong, smart and resourceful and is tasked with essentially saving the world. This gives her an air of self importance, even when she's trying to do the good thing. Overall, Nora is not a bad person. It's just that she gets stuck in her head sometimes, being burdened with the task at hand. She's quick to realize her faults, and actively works to rectify them.

As for her design change, I wanted to portray her as an experienced trainer. The more muted colors that Damian had I gave to her, especially since her whole thing is that she's trying not to have eyes on her. Also why she has a hat now: she wants to keep on herself hidden until she literally can't.

Because I did Nora, I decided to do Damian too!

I! Don't exactly have any rewrites for Damien tbh. If I ever played the game again, maybe, but for now I was focusing on his parallel to Nora. While Nora is someone who sees being chosen as a burden, but does it anyway, Damian is someone who wants to be someone important,yet lacks the skills to do so. Shaymin coming to him was the best thing that happened to him, cause it meant that he was meant for something, not just a lonely kid from Telnor.

Bc of this, I ended up giving Damian's clothes more pop to juxtapose Nora's color scheme- especially when they're color schemes are so similar. I also gave Damian some pink in his design, to tie himself more with Shaymin. I should also note that Damian looks more like Shaymin than Nora looks like Celebi. This is intentional. Nora knows that people are after her and thus doesn't want to resemble Celebi too much. The most she does is wear a necklace resembling a clock( not shown in the picrew). Damien, eager to finally mean something, is more obvious. Not completely on the nose, but if you know what you are looking for, his clothes are a red flag. Again,just wanted to show the contrast of these two.

Also yeah I have Damian freckles bc why not. Whittle guy.

Aaaand yeah, that's it lol. Hope you guys liked this ramble. I must stress I haven't played insurgence in literal years, so I'm going off what people tell me here for Nora's rewrite. Hopefully you like her well enough!

I know this is way early but what your predictions for horizon 3?

Hello anon!! Ooh what a nice question. It is early, indeed, but with Horizon forbidden west fresh on our minds its the perfect opportunity to talk about them possibilites ✨

Hold on because this is gonna be long!

(Spoilers ahead)

Lets start with tribes:

I don't quite expect Aloy having to personally visit ALL the tribes to rally them, since it would take a massive amount of time and it would be a little repetitive. So, I have this sort of idea of how it would be:

Quen:

If a horizon dlc doesn't touch upon it soon, I predict Aloy might travel to Quen lands sometime after defeating the Zeniths, in order to talk them over to help with nemesis (And just because I want more of Alva. I want to meet Federa so bad and I'd love to see if the food issues are still going on over there. ALSO her actress uploaded a pic on her insta of her wearing a mocap suit some time ago, so I'm 👀 LOOKING)

That might be the closest next thing, seeing as a DLC about the Quen could be the perfect opportunity to touch upon the new tribe. I'm super curious about them!

Nora, Carja, Utaru and Tenakth:

In general, I have this silly idea Aloy will want to travel back east first to rally the hzd tribes.

The Tenakth are almost already in, that tribe and Aloy are in great terms after she helped uniting the clans, so all there is to do was is let Kotallo some talking with Hekarro and we're IN, baby. The Utaru chorus is still a lil bitter but I'm sure Zo will manage, too. Both Zo and Kotallo are stationed on their respective tribe settlements after the ending of hfw, so rallying them could be a 'in between games' thing.

On the way to the Sacred Lands, Erend could drop by Meridian so he can brief Avad on nemesis and give focuses to the sun-king, Marad, Uthid, Vanasha and Talanah while Aloy continues further east with Beta and Zo to visit the Nora. (If Erend didn't like, send his resignation letter via Aldur and Joruf lmao. It would be akward as shit.)

Once they're with the Nora, Aloy could tell Sona about Varl's death, and have Zo meet her, too. Zo could tell Sona about her being pregnant with her son's child, etc. (I'd LOVE to see what Sona's reaction would be, since the Nora Matriarchs have to give their blessings before couples have the right to bear children. 😬)

Also as a side note I hope Zo's pregnancy isn't developed enough for her to get shelved for hz3. I want her to be able to follow everyone for the last fight!

I hope to see Teersa and Teb again, too. Teersa was honestly such a great help to Aloy back in hzd, I'd hate it if that was the last thing we saw of her, she was so nice! And, Aloy could make a quick stop to pick up more focuses over at Eleuthia-9 and check on gramma and introduce her to Beta, too. (If Beta does want to venture out of the fucking basement, of course.)

Not only that! But the hz3's tutorial could be Aloy teaching Beta how to use the focus to hunt, and if it were in the same place where Rost taught Aloy to hunt, it would be just DELICIOUS writing.

(Also... there's this thing where every character that stars with Aloy in the tutorial bit of the game uhhhh fucking dies? So lets not do that guerrilla.)

They could visit Rost's cabin and resting place one more time, then after telling the Nora about nemesis they could head back, pick up Erend from Meridian (and Talanah too if given the opportunity. There's one more empty bunk at base so 💅. We're lacking a Carja member at base to complete the set.)

I don't have any clue as to how they will add the Banuk in, but I hope they don't leave them behind.

After the Carja, Utaru, Tenakth and Nora are in, (and maybe the Quen, if that has already happened) there's only one more place to visit.

🕯️ THE CLAIM 🕯️

Listen. LISTEN. Why the candles, you ask? Its bc Im praying. MANIFESTIN.

The claim is the only tribe territory we haven't seen yet, and Im foaming at the mouth at the idea of getting to see them.

The Oseram npcs have been a delight all over the map in both hzd and hfw and just makes sense for Aloy to go to 🕯️ The Claim 🕯️ in hz3.

And I think they'll be next because after Singularity, if you talk to Erend over at Hidden Ember he will have some voice lines that hint at the Claim, like:

"You know. One time I'd like the two of us to go on an adventure where angry Oseram aren't trying to kill us." OKAY SIR.

And:

"There is a lot of work ahead of us. But we'll make sure my people stand with you when Nemesis shows up."

Aloy could not only go to rally them, but like a friend pointed out on the Ereloy server I'm in, there are a LOT of new possible ruins and other old ones stuff we could see, too.

Elysium, Vast Silver, more cauldrons where Hephaestus could be hiding. The possibilities are endless.

Its no secret that I love the Oseram, so the possibility of seeing more of them? Delightful. Straight up buffet for me.

And all the mischief and disaster that Aloy could make when she meets the old, stubborn, and patriarchal ealdormen of the tribe?

SIGN ME THE FUCK UP.

Finally, with all the tribes rallied, I imagine having a huuuuge map for the third game, a mix of the hzd one and the hfw one (plus the new places we'll visit for hz3.) Having the possibility of traveling via sunwing from the start, of course.

Next, Characters:

No more deaths. Thats illegal now. The first two games had enough of that, and grief showing up again in hz3? Nah, I'm good. (Plus I love them all pls I want them to be happy.)

There are many different ways for Aloy's arc/ writing could go in hz3, like how she hasn't had a decent cry like, ever. I want her to have a huge breakdown, to finally process everything she's gone through, to think about what she wants to do when its all over, etc. She has friends by her side now, what if she's scared from losing them, and everything she's worked so hard to achieve? Man, the possibilities. I think we all can agree that by the end, she deserves nice things. I hope she gets to choose what she wants next, instead of having to run from one side to the other all the time.

Then, for Beta I'd love her to get her own arc, learn how to live in this new world she's in. To have fun and learn and go out and see sunsets and waterfalls and deserts and everything this world has to offer. If she stays hidden in the Base for all the game amma be mad. Beta meeting Aloy's other friends from outside the base would be incredible! Seeing everyone's diferent reactions would be nice. When the game ends, I'm sure she and Aloy will stick together. She has a family now!

Then regarding the rest of Aloy's companions, i think the stage is set for Erend, too. With the possibility of going to 🕯️ The Claim 🕯️ and seeing as it seems he's Aloy's second in comand now there could be nice things for his arc, because I can tell guerilla isn't quite done with him yet! (Also blorbo brainrot, haha.)

In my opinion his writing in HFW was kinda lame but I'm just jotting that down as covid related issues the studio had, bc John Hopkins (Erend's va/face model/mocap actor) didn't even get to do any of the scenes himself with Ashly Burch, so that could explain why his character was kind of shelved/all over the place. (Erend's base dialogue my beloathed.)

Also... did he resign from being Captain of the Vanguard? He sounded bored of it when you meet him at the Daunt, so thats a thing. He literally just left Avad a message that he'd be gone for a while to help Aloy but like, he's supposed to be the king's personal guard..? Boy has his priorities straight it seems. I'd love to see a little bit of Aloy questioning him about that in hz3. Same with his relationship with the claim and his family bc the hzd guide mentioned him having an abusive father so I'm looking out for his backstory.

Also where the fuck is his helmet guerrilla??Give it back!!

Then Sylens. SYLENS. I love him. He has so much potential. I like that he stayed at the end, he's one of my faves and I would love it if he had a major role for hfw. He'd be super helpful when Nemesis arrives, and seeing as he's has a certain change of heart, I wonder how that will play out, too.

Like I said earlier, I hope Zo doesn't get left behind at base because of her pregnancy. She was such a great character in hfw and I just want to see a bit more of her in battle! I have no idea of how long hz3's timeline will be, but if she has her kid at the end and names her Vala I'll cry. Also I'd love to see some Auntloy!!

Kotallo and Alva... I gotta admit Im kinda worried for.

Alva could have some major role if the Quen are involved, but that depends if its a DLC or in-game for hz3. If they get a DLC, then great! But what would she do in hz3? Same with Kotallo.

I have no idea what their roles would be for the next game, I can only think of Kotallo rallying the Tenakth, at most? But other than that, not much. Maybe he could be a Tenakth ambassador to the Carja, but I don't know if the tribe's alliance will have a major role or impact on the story just yet.

Overall, I hope they don't shelf neither of them. Both are great characters, and I gotta admit that Kotallo and Alva's dynamic is just so good.

But anyways, thats all I can think of for now!

I just hope guerilla focuses a bit more on their story writing and their characters, hfw's gameplay was incredible, It'd be amazing if the story got the same treatment. (As in better, not bigger.) Now that covid is more manageable, I'm sure things will only get better and better.

My hopes are definitely up, I am super excited as to what comes next for Horizon, and maybe soon we'll get a dlc, too!

More Fallout 4 MTG Spoilers!

We got Des and Maxson! Now we just need Father Shaun and maybe Ronnie Shaw to round out the faction leaders. Also Kellogg! Awesome!

Maxson having 'Blind Betrayal' as his ability😭both good and painful. Also, we're still yet to see Danse! I hope this isn't the only reference we get to him.

Preston and Cait show up again, and we get a Strong card - though like the Ada card it doesn't name him (the quote is his though, if you're unsure it's him by appearance alone). Still, I'll take it over nothing. Here's hoping we continue to see more companions, even just as art.

Drummer Boy and Ingram in art!

(Heroic Reinforcements having a Desdemona quote is a little odd to me, since the vertibirds and soldiers don't appear to be Railroad... Also IIRC the Railroad only steals 1 or 2 vertibirds, to take down the Brotherhood. The Railroad also aren't known for making friends outside themselves either. I think it would have been more fitting to have a quote on this card that attributed it to the Brotherhood, Enclave, or even the Gunners. But, oh well.)

The Kellogg, Strong, and Sheltered Thicket cards are also the first to show a male Sole Survivor, rather than Nora. Also really neat to see just how big Thicket Excavations could be in real scale, over the small hole it is in the game. And maybe I'm one of very few, but I love seeing the Sanctuary Hills sign appear in some art. I love Sanctuary.

Infamous X RWBY

This is another idea I had after playing Infamous again on my PS3. Its a little crossover between the game and RWBY. Let me know if you guys like it or not.

Pyrrha and Jaune are leaving the post office. They went to pick up what Pyrrha's fans sent her. Jaune carries the boxes that were sent to her, while Pyrrha has a basket full of letters.

Jaune: Wow, your admirers sure did send you a bunch of packages.

Pyrrha: What can I say, my fans love me too much *She laughs nervously*

Jaune: But it's good that I came with you. You would have made two trips if you had come alone.

Pyrrha: *Smiles* Yep, lucky me (Lucky me indeed~)

In the distance Jaune and Pyrrha hear someone crying for help.

Old Woman: Someone help me!

Thief: Give me your wallet, old lady!

Pyrrha and Jaune watch as the thief runs away with the old lady's bag. They then look at each other for a moment until Jaune speaks.

Jaune: Go! You are faster than me. I'll take care of your stuff.

Pyrrha: *Smiles* Okay leader.

Pyrrha runs off, leaving Jaune alone with the packages and letters.

Jaune: Well, it's time to find a bench.

Moments later:

Thief: Agh!

Pyrrha finally caught the thief and has him on the floor. She called the police to come and get him, and while she waits for them she texts Jaune telling him that she caught the thief.

Jaune (text): Good job! 😆 You've earned a chocolate ice cream🍦😎

Pyrrha can only smile at the message. Something that has not been mentioned, is that Pyrrha and Jaune have become closer. So close that one would say that they are dating. Unfortunately, neither of them has taken the first step yet. But Pyrrha thinks that today will be the day that will change, and they will be together together, as Nora says.

After a while, the police arrived on the scene and they arrested the thief.

Police: Thank you very much, Miss Nikos.

Pyrrha: You're welcome.

She was about to leave but the officer stops her.

Police: Excuse me, can I have your autograph?

Pyrrha: Sure.

The officer gives her his notebook and a pen, and Pyrrha takes them.

Pyrrha: In whose name do I make the autograph?

Police: Oh yes, it would be Daniel, that's my name.

Pyrrha: Ok, "Daniel, thanks for your support. Your friend, Pyrrha Nikos." Here you go.

Police: Oh thank you so-

*Kaboom*

In the distance Pyrrha and the people around her see a huge explosion. But it's not just any explosion, it was like a blue sphere that covered part of the city. Screams of terror could be heard, the ground trembled, buildings collapsed, and cars and other things fall from the sky. No one expected this, no one would want to experience this. They were all terrified. Pyrrha is terrified, but not because of the explosion, but because Jaune was in that area.

News Anchor: Good afternoon, we have been informed that part of the city of Vale has been attacked by what is believed to be a terrorist attack. The authorities are doing everything possible to help and take control of the situation. At the moment we do not have information on how many people have been affected by the attack or how this terrible incident occurred. We will inform you when we have more information. At this time the Vale government asks all inhabitants to evacuate and go to the Becon Academy for protection or to one of the posts created by the authorities. Please remain calm and follow the instructions of the officials. We will come back with more information.

Nora (Phone): Pyrrha, are you alright?! Is Jaune alright?! He doesn't answer his phone!

Pyrrha: *trying not to cry* Jaune was…

Nora (Phone): Tell me where you guys are. I'll tell Prof. Goodwitch to pick you two up!

Pyrrha: Jaune was there.

Nora (Phone): Huh?

Pyrrha: .Jaune... Jaune was at the explosion.

Nora (Phone): No, please don't tell me that. Please tell me he's okay. *crying* Tell me that he is fine and that he is with you, please!

Pyrrha: I went to catch a thief and he stayed there waiting for me. I got too far away from him and then… *Crying*

Nora (Phone): ...Please, tell me where you are, I don't want… I don't want to lose you too.

Hearing that, Pyrrha feels a stab in her heart. Jaune is really gone.

News Anchor: Good Evening, we have more information about the attack. The explosion is over. The authorities inform us that at this moment, they have found no signs of how this happened or if there is a possibility that the attack will continue. They also inform us that the explosion was a high intensity electrical explosion, as I mentioned before, the authorities are still investigating how it happened. They also found people injured and they where taken to the nearest hospital. they also found other people that past away in the attack. The number of dead has just passed 600 bodies until now, and it is estimated that this number will rise. The authorities are still looking for more survivors and the cause of all this. We will come back with more information.

Beacon academy.

A Bullhead arrived at the academy. In it was Prof. Goodwitch with a group of civilians and Pyrrha. Her mind was lost. She kept seeing the last message Jaune sent her. She tries to find a solution as to how she could have saved him. Maybe if she had caught the thief earlier, Jaune would still be alive. Or maybe they were able to be together when all this happened. But that does not matter.

After all the civilians came down, Prof. Goodwitch tapped her on her shoulder to get her attention.

Glynda: Pyrrha, we're here. Do you want me to walk you to your room?

Pyrrha: No, thanks. My team is waiting for me.

Glynda: If you need to talk to someone, I'm here.

Pyrrha just nodded her head and got off the bullhead. In the distance she could see Ren and Nora waiting for her. Nora's eyes were red from crying and Ren had a sad expression. She walks over to them and she hugs Nora. Once again the two of them begin to cry.

Ground Zero

In the middle of the explosion, Jaune is lying on the floor. His clothes are torn, but can still be used to cover himself. Little by little he opens his eyes and he can only see the sky covered with smoke.

Jaune: (What happened to me? Why does my body hurt?)

Jaune gets up with difficulty and sees that he is in the middle of a large crater and part of the city is in ruins.

Jaune: *Scared* What happened?

Jaune checks his body to see that everything is alright and reaches for his Scroll. But when he finds it he sees that it is destroyed, as if burned from within

Jaune: (I can't stay here. I need to move to a safe place.)

Jaune moves slowly. Although he is fine, his body feels sore. He begins to leave the crater through an underground parking lot, well what's left of the parking lot. Upon entering he passes through an electrical box that keeps running electricity out of control and electrocuted him. He feels like all the electric current running through his body, but it doesn't hurt him. After a few seconds he is released from the current and he walks away from it.

Jaune: What the fuck happened?! I should be dead!

In the distance he can hear someone's voice. He starts to walk towards her, but he doesn't find a person, but a walkie talkie. Around the device there is only rubble.

Jaune: (What could have happened to the owner?)

He takes the walkie talkie and looks for a signal where he can hear someone or something. Any kind of signal that helps you understand what is happening. Jaune tried every channel until he got something.

Walkie Talkie: Alpha team here! We have another survivor! Where are you? We are on the south side of the mall! Understood, we'll send the paramedics to your area.

Jaune is excited to hear that there are people around, although he still doesn't know what's going on, but it seems that too many people were affected by it. Jaune then tried to talk to them.

Jaune: Hello, does anyone hear me?!

Walkie Talkie: Who is this?

Jaune: I'm Jaune, a Beacon student. What happened?

Walkie Talkie: There was an attack, what are you doing here?!

Jaune: I just woke up, I don't know what's going on!

Walkie Talkie: A survivor! Where are you?!

Jaune: I am at the... *Looks back to the crater* well where there used to be a park.

Walkie Talkie: How did you survive-?! Forget it that doesn't matter now. You are close to one of the shelters. You have to go to the bridge that is in the direction of the Becon Academy. do you know it?

Jaune: Yes!

Walkie Talkie: Good. Go, and if anything happens let me know on the Walkie Talkie. I'll be on channel 4, the channel you're on is only for rescuers.

Jaune: Ok!

Walkie Talkie: Good luck

Jaune strapped the Walkie Talkie to his waistband and made his way to the bridge.

Ruby: Pyrrha, can I come in?

Silence

Ruby: *slowly opens the door* I'm sorry, but I'm coming in.

Upon entering she sees Pyrrha back and she is on Jaune's bed hugging his sword.

Ruby: Pyrrha, Nora told us what happened. I'm so sorry and I want you to know that we are here for you.

Silence

Ruby: Is it okay for me to stay here for a while?

Pyrrha just nods her head. Ruby sat down next to her and remained silent. After a time, Pyrrha began to speak.

Pyrrha: It's my fault.

Ruby: It's not your fault.

Pyrrha: If it is! I asked him to come with me! I left it there while I ran to catch that stupid thief! I was too late and left him there alone! I…*Hugs the sword tighter* I…*Begins to cry again* I killed Jaune.

Ruby: You didn't kill him. It was not your fault. Sometimes bad things happen when we don't want to.

Pyrrha: But why him?! Why did it have to be him?! Why wasn't that fucking thief?! Why did the man I love have to die?! He was so good to me. He always treated me like someone normal, we watched movies together, and sometimes he brought me my favorite sweets just because. I miss him.

Ruby: I miss him, too.

Ruby tries not to cry, but the loss of her friend was very hard. The first friend she makes upon arriving in Beacon and the first friend she loses in her life. She was going to say something else but suddenly yang appears with bad news.

Yang: Girls! Another attack is happening!!

Ground Zero, minutes before the second attack.

Jaune was able to move through all the destruction on his way to the bridge. He climbs a wall and on the other side he sees the bridge in the distance.

Jaune: *Takes a deep breath* Finally....

He gets down from the wall and starts walking towards the bridge. He sees a lot of people being treated at the entrance of the bridge and from there they are taken to a safe place. As he walks up to the birdge, a building collapses and hits a power line which falls into a large puddle of water where people are passing by to get to the bridge. One of those people was Jaune.

The current was so strong that all the people were instantly electrocuted, except for Jaune. The current was too much for him, but it didn't kill him. Suddenly lightning began to fall from the sky. They all fell near the bridge. People were screaming and trying to get to a safe place. It was chaos.

Police 1: We are under attack! Get to safety!!

Police 2: Run across the bridge! Don't stop!

They all started running, even Jaune, after he was able to free himself from the electric current. Lightning struck the entire bridge. The cars exploded on impact, people died electrocuted. It was a horrible image. Jaune keeps running, praying that he isn't next. He can see the end of the bridge and he starts to run faster. He feels tired, but he doesn't want to die here. As he crosses the bridge, he passes out and the lightning stops. The paramedics see him and approach him to treat him.

Beacon academy, RWBY Room.

The girls of Team RWBY and the rest of Team JNPR, see the attack on television, lightning falling from the sky and the screams of the people, but nothing in detail. Everything was broadcast from afar, but it was still horrible to see. Suddenly the signal is cut and the news anchor appears.

News Anchor: Good evening, we are sorry to interrupt the transmission. What you have just seen is the second attack Vale has received today. At the moment we have no information on how this happened or the situation of the citizens in the area. We will come back with more information.

Weiss: This is getting out of control. Who could do something like this?

Blake: It feels like it was very random. I mean, the attack was in a park, not in a historical place, not in a government building, it was in a park. Do they just want to cause fear?

Yang: Whatever's going on, we're safe in here.

Pyrrha turns around and heads for the door.

Ruby: Pyrrha?

Pyrrha: I'm sorry but I'm very tired, I'm going to lie down.

Ruby: If you need anything let us know.

Pyrrha just nods her head and opens the door. Upon doing so she sees that Prof. Ozpin is about to knock on her team's door.

Pyrrha: Prof. Ozpin?

Ozpin: Oh Pyrrha, I thought you were in your room.

Pyrrha: You were looking for me? I'm sorry but I'm very tired.

Ozpin: I understand, but this is important.

Pyrrha: I'm sorry but right now is not a good time.

Pyrrha walks straight to her room and grabs the door handle.

Ozpin: Jaune is alive.

Pyrrha turns to see him with a shocked face.

Pyrrha: That's impossible!

Ozpin: But it is, he was rescued from the bridge and is taken to a hospital in the center of the city. Prof. GoodWitch is with him at this very moment, but I thought you might want to see him too.

Pyrrha: Please take me to him!

Ozpin: *Points to de direction of the bullhead port* This way, please.

Sooo this year has been a wild ride fandomly for me... to say the least.

(we're gonna go ahead and add a cut cause she's gonna get long)

It started with a few prompt fics in January

I worked on some WIPs I wont include because they were started in 2022 through February . Then in March I started three new fics (because I am insane) that are all still on going WIPs as well, but the first two that I share were left on a good stopping point; so you're not left with that bitterness once you see they haven't been updated in a long time. The last one... we won't talk about her(I swear it's not abandoned I just have been hyperfixated elsewhere and life has been messy)

Which brings us to August, when everything changed... drastically. I was introduced to RWRB and although I started getting ideas for fics and even started writing one I still haven't finished prior to seeing the movie, just a few days after it released I went on a spiral of writing i have NEVER gone on before... and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.

He’s right beside the bed and lays a hand on the top of Henry’s head. “Say you could go back three days; back to before all the missed plans, before all of the arguments, before the promotion… before the accident. Would you?” “Of course I would…” ooorrr I decided to write an angsty little Christmas fic in October based off an equally angsty movie I use to love back in the day one thousand four hundred and sixty four hours 926 words Alex has always made a habit of obsessively remembering certain days. Important days, of course. Ones that leave a special mark on his memory. Ones that he never wants to forget. eight legged freaks 895 words henry pulls a prank on alex based on a picture of a spider earring i saw on facebook cake-gate, baby gates, and a mess Henry could have avoided 1655 words Henry and Alex agree on a lot when it comes to parenting. They also disagree on a lot; that's just par the course with parenting, though… right? One thing they both sway on the fence about is baby restraints… or whatever the technical terms for them are. and so the story goes 2068 words Henry suggested Alex try his routine on the days he would have been putting her to sleep, to keep her nights as close to normal as possible. But Alex’s eyes went crossed trying to understand which concoctions (and the correct amounts) Henry uses for bath time. He knew he wouldn’t be able to sit still long enough to brush through her hair more than just the amount of times it took to detangle it. Most importantly though, he absolutely sucks at bedtime stories… which have always been her favorite part of Henry’s routine.  let me hear you SCREAM 2789 words Then Henry looks up from his writing desk, through the front window of the Brownstone, and sees a ghost face mask staring back at him from across the street. He certainly didn’t expect Alex’s idea of getting him back to involve… well that. The cloaked figure doesn’t move, save for a slow rise of his hand to give Henry a slight wave. It’s extremely creepy and Henry has to push back from his desk and get away from the window.

And Alex replied; “I’m always proud to be your boyfriend.” Henry made his little snide upperclass joke and Alex grinned and laughed as if he had just heard the most hilarious thing in the world. Then the moment was interrupted and quickly forgotten as they readied themselves to meet with the King. And it probably should have been the end of the topic — for Alex, perhaps it truly was. But for Henry, who tends to overthink things for the worse, he just can’t forget about it. or... Five times Alex was introduced as Henry's boyfriend, and one time he was introduced as his husband. ten seconds 'til 3544 words Five New Years showing the reasons that brought Henry to hate the holiday… and the one that changes his mind so says social media 606 words Alex shrugs and turns his phone off, sliding it into his pocket to resume watching TV. “Who knows, people just love to stir up drama.” Or... I have watched people micro analyze TZP and (especially) NG on social media so much I wrote a FirstPrince fic about it.

December (I have only posted one this month, because I was feeling the pressure of giving myself a timeline on a fic, and also joining the gift exchange... that being said I am going to add the gift fic to this list on the first.)

1348 - Day 1

WARNING - It's plague day. A big warning for lots of death in this post.

Rachels illness gets worse by the day. There's talk in twon about an incurable sickness the people call "The Black Death". Cassian is really concerned about her so he pays the physician to come over.

They get an ointment for the boils and the lumps but the physician doesn't give Cassian much hope.

"Stay clear of the infected, this sickness spreads like a fire in the woods."

"But she's just 4 years old. How is she supposed to care for herself?"

"I'm just warning you. Stay clear if you don't want the family infected."

Only a few days after the visit Rachel succumbs to the plague.

The family is devastated. They're not even allowed to bury her because the people fear spreading of the illness. To make things worse they even get word that Aunt Charlotte died from the plague, too.

But Cassian and his family are not the only ones to suffer. Farhan catches it, too, and only a few weeks afterwards he dies in bed. He dies at 44.

A few days later Annabelle feels the telltale lumps on her throat. She tries to isolate herself to save the rest of her family from the grim fate and after a few weeks of struggle she passes away at night. she was only 26 years old.

Tara and Alton grief together for their loved ones. Alton has seen so much death in his time at war but he never expected it to follow him home so frequently.

Tara often searches for her mother in the weeks to come. She doesn't quite understand the concept of death yet.

Stefan's family is also not spared. Adelia catches it first and his brother Ronan follows soon after. To his devastation little Faith is sick, too.

He tries as best as he can while also caring for Grace, but Ronan dies quickly and only a few days later he finds his daughter Adelia as expired, too.

Grace is distraught of course, where are all the people in the house? Where is her sister Faith who she had such a strong connection with?

"I want Faith!"

"I know, love, I want her, too. I'm sorry."

"Come on, lets read a story. You love stories, right?"

The Black Death doesn't spread only in Britain. Nora finds that Elsa has been lethargic of late and she developed a serious rash.

It doesn't take long for the rumours to spread to their little cabin and now she knows what is in store for her daughter.

And while caring for Elsa she also catches a fever.

Verna, who heard the rumours, too, takes Clover after Nora can't get out of bed anymore. She runs to the castle to beg for her father to come back. She knows he's off with her uncles troops, but there has to be someone to help!

But when she returns home with the physician it's already too late. Nora and Elsa are both gone. Verna is taken in by her aunt.

"I will take care of you until your father returns. Fear not, Verna, you're safe with me."

Even though her aunt just had twins of her own, she vows to provide for Verna until Sven comes back.

Setting - It has been months since the defeat of Salem in her castle in the Grimm Wastes. However, the final blow made on her was not fatal, and she managed to escape with her life. No one has yet seen her, but the Grimm attacks continue still. If she is alive, then where on Remnant could the evil witch be?

Ren: Yes, not far from our village in Mistral, but... there's something peculiar. It's best if you see her for yourself.

Ruby: What do you mean? What is going on?!

Nora: Ruby! (Hugs her) You made it!

Ruby: Nora! Ghk! It's been too long! (Released) Still as strong as ever, I see.

Nora: Well, to be honest, I've been kind of slowing down since my pregnancy.

Ruby: Your what?! Congratulations!

???: Nora Valkyrie, what are you doing?! You can't be running around like you used to; there's a baby inside!

Nora: Aww! I'm sorry, Granny!

???: (Leans close to Ruby) And who might you be, dear, sweet child?

Nora: This is Ruby! Ruby, meet-

Ruby: SALEM! (Jumps away, Draws Crescent Rose)

Salem: Oh my! What a lively girl! Please, do be careful, dear. Such a weapon can be dangerous.

Ruby: Oh, it's dangerous, alright; especially when I use it to cut off-

Nora: (Jumps in front) WAIT! It's not what it looks like!

Ruby: What?

Nora: I won't let you hurt Granny Says-So!

Ruby: Granny... Says-So? Wah! (Kids tug on her cape, Shouting at her) Aiie! So many tiny hands!

Salem: Children, please! Calm yourselves! If you behave, I'll bake you some fresh apple fritters. (Children let go, Run up to hug Salem)

Ruby: I am... SO confused. So, you don't remember me?

Salem: I can't say I do, dear.

Ruby: Or Beacon?

Salem: Like a lighthouse?

Ruby: Haven?

Salem: Is she a sweet girl like you?

Ruby: What about Atlas?

Salem: I may have a map inside.

Ruby: The Relics, or the Maidens?

Salem: Is this a word game where you're from?

Jaune: It's true, Ruby. This... isn't really Salem.

Ruby: Huh?

Jaune: Granny, I'll talk with Ruby. Why don't you go ahead and bake up those apple fritters?

Salem: Oh, yes, of course! Come along, children. (Winks) We wouldn't want to interrupt Mr. Arc and his girlfriend~. (Children "Eeeeeww!")

Nora: (Giggles) I'll help, too, Granny!

Jaune: We've been watching Salem ever since. Believe me, I was about as ready to end her as soon as I saw her, but... somehow, some way, Salem has lost all her memories and is now sweet, old Granny Says-So.

Ruby: How'd she get that name?

Jaune: Apparently, she's a whiz with every single problem possible. I guess being alive for centuries gives her an edge with solving dilemmas without violence. So, whatever Salem says, the kids and adults do so.

Ruby: It's... unreal. I've spent the last few years fighting for my life, trying to defeat her, and when I finally meet after months of being off the radar, she's completely different. It's... kind of anti-climactic.

Jaune: Believe me, my brain hurts just as much as yours does.

Ren: (Runs to them) Jaune, Ruby! Grimm incoming!

Ruby: I knew it was too good to be true! Jaune, you and Ren go ahead. I'll go save Nora from "Granny Goodness"!

Nora: Let me at 'em! Let me at 'em! Let me- Oh, hi, Ruby!

Ruby: Nora, I'm here to save you!

Salem: Please do! She refuses to listen to me!

Ruby: Huh?

Salem: H-Hush now, children. You're safe with Granny Says-So. I promise. W-We'll all eat apple fritters and forget about this whole horrible thing.

Ruby: You're... You're scared... (Shakes her head) Nora, keep Granny Says-So safe. Granny, make sure there's an apple fritter for me. Kids, you be good for Granny Says-So.

Salem: Oh, thank you! Thank you! Please, save our village from those beasts! I'm afraid I'm too old to do it myself.

Ruby: ...Y-Yeah, I understand. (Turns away, Thinking) It might come back to bite me, but... I just can't hurt someone who doesn't remember what they did.
