11 June 2020 | These pictures are from a few days ago when I was still finishing up my patristics paper. Now, I’m entirely finished for the semester and looking forward to finally having time to do some reading with no practical application to research! I’ll likely go back to that paper soon to make a few changes and maybe submit it for publication, but for now I’m just enjoying not having any more deadlines hanging over my head.

hi there. i’m erica. i am chronically ill (very much so at that) and a lot has happened to be since i last reblogged 6 months ago... but being a studyblr has not left mind, more rather makes my heart heavy that i cannot partake the way i wish i could. i am homeschooled now. things have been really bad (and still are) but i’m going to try my hardest for my own sake to return to the community!(o˘◡˘o)

i have almost 10 diagnoses, and there are still multiple things to be diagnosed one of these years. the main culprit is an invisible disease called fibromyalgia. it’s a musculoskeletal disease in which there is an abnormal increase of neurotransmitters (what signals pain.) the brain's pain receptors gain memory of said pain and causes the poor soul to become more sensitive to pain, which leads to exaggerated pain. i’m in pain everyday of my life. the few good days i have, and there aren’t many, i try my hardest to put makeup on and go out to civilization. i love makeup and i don’t get to wear it often!

can’t wait to make some friends and revise some notes! (▰˘◡˘▰)

this semester: german III, ap lit and comp, ap macroeconomics, and programming I

next semester: modern social problems, environmental science, hopefully ap microeconomics (switching from dual enrollment anatomy n physiology) and a media independent study

After graduation, what’s next?

head off to college for either a film production degree or a double major in public relations and economics!

Are you a morning or night person?

oh definitely night!! i could honestly sleep forever in the mornings

Front/back/middle of class?

honestly, as long as i’m against a wall i don’t mind where but i prefer to be on the right side of the classroom

Best feedback from a teacher/professor?

“you shouldn’t rely on validation from other people.” this is such a big thing for me and I really need to actually follow this advice but it’s pretty tough.

Best study tips?

start early, study for you not for anyone else (use methods that work for you even if they’re not popular), honestly don’t compare yourself to others if you can help it.

I have minor syndactyly in both my feet
