in light of all the coelacanth posting im seeing in the last couple of weeks i would just like to recommend the song coelacanthem by the darkest of the hillside thickets
it's the greatest tribute to a fish ive ever heard and it's what they deserve
I've been wanting to share my merch haul from the recent PokeCon that happened in my country last month - so I thought to start off with these adorable frosted charms I got from Plupip !!! 💖💕✨
I fell in looove with these silly guys on sight - you actually get the choice to either pick out ones to buy individually, or get two different ones at random through a little gacha toy she has stationed at her booth. That's how I got a majority of these - with the most recent ones being my own online orders, hehe :} 💫
She has an online shop with the whole 60+ (and counting!) catalogue of Pokémon charms along with other merch like plushies, shirts, and pins, so do check her out when y'all can! 🥺💖💖💖
heya, hope you’re well :) I finished the vocals for ‘The Fear of Falling In Love’ today!! I’ll attach a clip of the first chorus below. I woke up at 12pm and had some breakfast outside with Prue, then got ready and took her out for a walk.
After getting back, I washed some grapes to snack on while working on the vocals for the final chorus. It was a good idea to do them fully rested, for the high harmony I added in needed SO much breath and really good control, both things I can’t do while tired lol.
After recording everything I added in a breakdown/outro that I thought of in the moment, and adjusted the levels for the backup melody lines as they were too loud. There’s still a little bit of clipping, but I think that adds to the dramatic effect of the song. Very happy with how it all turned out!
Only one song left on the album to work on, ‘Apollo Bay’. I intentionally left this one for last because it’s quite a sentimental, heartfelt song for me - it’s essentially a message to my childhood self - so I didn’t want to be preoccupied with other songs to work on. Alrighty, that’s gonna be all for now. Thanks for reading and take care of yourself <3
how to explain to people that while we DO need to desperately dismantle AI’s capitalism-driven rise to prominence in many professional areas especially art because of how it will be used to replace artists in exchange for cheap content and on the back of uncredited artists that came before, and how things can be said about supporting the ai platforms that enable this
that simultaneously using Dall-E mini or Bing or whatever once to make a cat at some nebulous point is not like. It is not like. He did not just shoot an artist point blank out in an alleyway 😭
👽 The Luna Cross “No Signal” prints are officially on sale! So far we’ve put them on sale on Etsy and ArtPal but do plan on selling on all sorts of shops as well! Grab them while you can!👽
Just a few of the pieces he's done for me. 😍 if you're in the fraser valley or don't mind making the trip and need new tattoos. Go see Josh. More of his work and designs up for grabs are on his Instagram.

heya, hope you’re well :) I woke up late today (2pm) after a not-so-good night’s sleep. My mind was running a bit, but I managed to fall asleep eventually, which I’m thankful for. The day was quite nice, I mostly spent it pottering around the house and a lil outside in the garden. The black tea blend I had in the “morning” was divine, it had cinnamon and vanilla in it!
Also, I began work on ‘Apollo Bay’!! I’d been thinking about how I wanted it to sound for a few days, so after dinner I took out my keyboard and got to work. There’s a motif in ‘18’ that I wanted to reuse as it’s quite pretty, and this song kinda feels like the continuation of ‘18’ or maybe a sister song. They’re both about talking/communicating with/addressing my past self, just at different times in my life (‘18’ when I was 15/16 and ‘Apollo Bay’ when I was 8-11).
Anyway, I got that motif down and added a sturdy, neutral bass w/ reverb and a continuous bass drum that’s distant, slightly distorted, and very reverb-ey. There are a few layers of synths with slightly different note patterns, some bells that call on the left side of the headphones and respond on the right, two chordal sweeping synth layers add substance, and a rhythmic bright-ish synth builds on the notes it plays (1sts, 3rds, 5ths) as the chorus goes on. I’m liking how it’s sounding so far, I’ll listen tomorrow to see what edits I want to make before starting vocals. Alrighty, that’s gonna be all for now. Thanks for reading and take care of yourself <3
lots of love,
elle xoxo
P.S. I would add a sneak peak of the song for y’all but it’s late so I don’t wanna play anything loud lol. Night night! ✨🌌
A lovely follower of mine asked for recommendations on Analog Horror series to watch since I mentioned I'm a big fan of the genre. I figured it would be best to just make a big post about it all!
This post will be split up into three sections: 1) Direct links to Analog/Digital Horror series with series that I have actually engaged in being in red bold 2) Links to analog horror commentary Youtube channels that do a great job of breaking down and explaining series because they can get kinda confusing 3) Some particular series breakdown videos I highly recommend.
