Fire, the spark, the radiation, the energy that animates the world. Fire moves underneath the surface of the earth; the sun fire warms the earth, and we depend on it for life. Humans have always revered the fire. Fire was originally stolen from the sky, lightning struck trees were the main source before mankind learnt to create flames. With fire humans were capable of defend themselves from wild animals, to cook raw meat, to have a light in the darkness and a warm place in the cold weather. Fire is a creative and destructive element; it helps and harms, and it is generally assumed that humans began to move towards progress when they discovered fire.

So, I've decided to change things up a bit, instead of making my usual Aasimar Paladin on D&D, I've decided to make a huge Leonin fighter (8'2" 948lbs) and who will become somewhat of a pyromancer/eldritch knight.
Leonins are still good and lawful but they are also a beast, and it's fun to try and play a good character, not being bound by the lawful good law of Paladins, (though the idea is that he was inspired by the actions of a Paladin to take up this path, and the pyromancer thing is supposed to translate like a sacred flame) but who still struggle with his own nature not to be a Beast sometimes! Hehe
I can already hear him ROAR!! hehe 🦁

This is my favorite thing in Octopath Traveler 2.
Spoilers to follow.
At the game’s end- when the last journey is upon our travelers- they must go to the statues, and relight the Sacred Flame.
And when you look at the statues of the gods, written on them... is this.
O inheritors of our will...
The Gods have done what they can; if Temeonos’ story at his beginning is to be believed, most of the Gods are explicitly dead, or at least, weakened.
But the party- mere mortals- are not treated as mere tools of the Gods, nor as interlopers or unworthy successors...
But as inheritors.  As part of that divine legacy, as worthy of taking up the task of the Gods.
Despite everything- despite Throne’s horrific past, Hikari’s semi-possession, despite the mundane nature of Agnea and Partitio and all the other problems that plague the party- they are worthy of being inheritors of divine will.  These mere mortals not mere at all, in the eyes of the very gods themselves- but equals, able hands for the task ahead.
There’s something beautiful about that.  Gods and mortals, acting as one, to ensure the coming of dawn.
This world has some kindly gods to it.

On December the 21st we celebrate the First Sabbath of the Wheel of the year, we celebrate the Winter Solstice, the longest night, the end of the dark half of the year and the beginning of a new year of light.
We Celebrate Demeter and Dionysus and the Aloa Festival.
We celebrate the birth of the sacred child, the god of light, the sun god.
We celebrate the clash between darkness and light, between life and death, and the victory of light with the rebirth of a new life, the rebirth of the sun.
We feast to celebrate and honour the gods; we light the sacred fire and keep it lit so that its light awakens the sun of a new day.
