Fic Finder

1. Looking for a smut fic I remember reading. WWX was testing an invisibility talisman and ended up in the jingshi in time to watch LWJ masturbating, and rode him after he fell asleep. LWJ woke up and made WWX get rid of the invisibility after a bit. I think it was a roleplay between the two but I'm not fully sure
FOUND! Clinomania by malkinmalkout (E, 6k, wangxian, Voyeurism, Masturbation, Somnophilia, misuse of talismans, PWP, Riding, Oral Sex, binding, Happy Ending, canon typical non-con)

2. Hi! So I'm looking for this one fic, I remember that it was set in post-canon & Wangxian go to help this village, I remember that the Juniors (all four) followed them without their knowledge & the village had a barrier preventing people from leaving, the village had a curse where they got to see their close-ones negative memories, the juniors learnt of what actually happened to WWX & the villain turns out to be a "god" like on Dafan, it had 4 chapter (I think) & was finished. @i-like-snakes-and-spiders
FOUND? Down comes the night by danegen (E, 67k, wangxian, Alternate Universe, Canon Era, inspired by From, Horror, Sharing a Room, POV LWJ, no jiangs, a whole village of OCs, tiny mention of past wwx/omc, Happy Ending)
FOUND? unhappy stories with happy endings by Last_for_Hell (M, 30k, WangXian, Memories, Memory Fic, Kinda, Hurt/Comfort, Panic Attacks, sexual content maybe, References to Torture, PTSD, Characters Watching Their Series, kinda, but not entirely, very light consensual non-consent)

3. good day! 😊 I read this fic before and I know that I've bookmarked it but I can't find it in the list. So the story is after wwx fell, baoshan sanren and lan yi rescued him, nursed him back to health, and waited for him to wake up. I remember that when he woke up, they also taught him cultivation (he got a new sword). He also hid his face (i think he also wore a different name and different voice(?)). There's a yi city scene where xxc asked them who they were because he cant see, then bssr is also with them at that time. thank yoooooou! 💓💓💓
FOUND! Until The End by abCEE (M, 365k, WangXian, Canon Divergence, war changes people, resulting to OOC, no pinning, Established Relationship, Mpreg, Good Uncle LQR, a little grey LWJ, a bit of JC bashing from LWJ, BAMF JYL, 16 years of yearning, mainly CQL verse but has scenes from the novel as well, LSZ is WangXian's Child, WWX Has a New Golden Core, Canon Rewrite, Happy Ending, Fix-It of Sorts)

4. hi, I hope you can help me find this fic I've been looking for, I'm sorry I don't really remember much, just that WWX can cook non-spicy food but he does it on purpose, it might have been because of his time in the streets? or because someone would take his food? (maybe JC???)
~*~
5. I cannot for the life of me remember anything else about the fic but I think it was cql based with lwj as chief cultivator? wwx returned to cloud recesses and the first thing he did was beat someone up for saying horrible things about lwj. I can't remember if it was multichapter or not so it might have been in the middle of a longfic?
FOUND? 🔒make this chaos count by devotedbones (E, 15k, WangXian, Post-Canon, CQL Compliant, canon compliant until the very last scene of episode 50, Getting Together, First Time, First Kiss, Hand Jobs, Chief Cultivator LWJ, a flute used as a melee weapon, Fist Fights, Gossip, Self-Worth Issues, Love Confessions, Mutual Pining, Mentions of Canonical Abuse, Minor Misunderstandings, [podfic] make this chaos count, by devotedbones by inkpens)

6. this may as well be an itmf for its general nature, but it's actually a ficfinder! except. i only remember a single detail LMAO, and it's that wwx and lwj consider all four juniors to be their children, blood relation be damned. I'm so sorry i have literally nothing else to go on 😅 i think there's a similar theme in 'tragedy is not the end' specifically with zizhen, but not the exact detail im looking for... thank you for the help!

7. Hi, first of all I want to thank y'all for the hard work, and I wanted to know if a fic has been deleted or if anyone has it, I don't remember the name but it was a time travel fic where Qishan Wen win the sunshot campaign and asked for war prizes (?) Zewu-Jun goes instead of his brother, Yanli is alive, they all have them captive, Meng Yao betrayed them and ultimately sided with the Wen's who were winning the war, and I think no one remembers Wei Wuxian, something like that, it would be great if someone could help! Thanks so much 🩷🩷

A prompt, if you would like! wangxian, lwj "head empty, only wei ying sexy" after he shows off some talismans~
"We're going to die!" bemoans Ouyang Zizhen, cowering behind a tree.
"Don't say that," Jin Ling hisses at him. His hands clenched too tightly around the hilt of his father's sword gives him away.
The Lan juniors---not so junior anymore, but still children in Lan Wangji's eyes---are gathered together behind the bushes on the other side, peering over the top of it with wide eyes. Jingyi is muttering under his breath about quitting to become a farmer. Next to him, Sizhui is silent but alert, applying pressure to Jingyi's wound.
Lan Wangji doesn't waver as he sends a steady stream of energy to the injured teenager. He keeps his eyes across the clearing, where his husband is sketching things out on the ground, all while avoiding the yao attempting to stab him.
"What is he doing?" Sizhui asks. "I don't recognize those characters."
Lan Wangji doesn't take his eyes off Wei Ying. By now, he has tossed the stick he's been drawing with aside, spinning on his heels to face the frustrated yao with a nasty grin, the one that still has people whisper "Yiling Laozu" after him. Wei Ying bites his thumb, drawing blood.
"Cultivation is about discipline and training," Lan Wangji says, as Wei Ying's blood slips down and hits the ground. "And also creativity."
The yao's screams echo through the woods, shrill and haunting. When the dust clears, Wei Ying is standing alone, hair still fluttering. His shoulders rise and fall as he exhales. Then he's hurrying over.
"Lan Zhan? Kids? Sound off if you're dead!"
Jin Ling pushes himself shakily, shifting his weight off his twisted ankle. "Who can answer if they're dead?!"
"Wei-qianbei!" Ouyang Zizhen sobs, "You're my new hero!"
"You mean I wasn't already?" Wei Ying laughs. His eyes sweep through them all, not missing a single scrape or bruise. When he meets Lan Wangji's gaze, his face softens. "Sorry I took so long."
Lan Wangji shakes his head. "Wei Ying is amazing as usual."
A soft blush spreads across Wei Ying's face. Behind him, Jin Ling is pretending to retch, and Jingyi is complaining about bleeding out while they're flirting away. Sizhui is smiling, the twinkle in his eye saying he will save his questions for later.
Lan Wangji reaches out to help Jingyi onto his back. The faster they get themselves home, the faster Lan Wangji can show his husband just how amazing he is.

Lan Jingyi: The foreskin
Everyone else: ...
Jin Ling: The thinnest layer of the earth?
Wei Wuxian: Correct.
Jin Ling: Oh, thank you! I got a point.
Lan Sizhui: Sorry!?
Wei Wuxian: Wait what you didn’t answer-
Ouyang Zizhen: You said correct.

Returning from a big night hunt
Lan Jingyi: senior Wei, would you rather find 1000 roaches or a person inside your attic?
Wei Wuxian: a person, easier to scare off.
Lan Wangji: mn. Or kill.
Lan Sizhui:... yeah, killing 1000 roaches sounds terrible.
Ouyang Zizhen: and killing a person does not??
Wei Wuxian: it's not as bad as people make it out to be. I would know, I killed people and then was killed myself!
Lan Wangji: Wei Ying.
Wei Wuxian: sorry, Lan Zhan!!
Jin Ling: what kind of idiot would even choose the roaches amyways? There's just so many, you'll run into them everywhere for years!
Lan Jingyi: just like your uncles I guess
Jin Ling: i will slap you
Lan Jingyi: what about you, Zizhen? You've been quiet.
Ouyang Zizhen: the roaches, because how am I going to live with knowing an entire living person entered my house and I didn't know?
Jin Ling: you've never had any attempts on your life and it shows

What We Deserve - ao3
“I hope you know that you deserve better,” Lan Qiren said mildly when he found himself walking side-by-side with Su She in a hallway of Jilin Tower. Su She only scoffed, of course. “Do not misunderstand me, Sect Leader Su. I am not giving you advice, nor am I telling you that you need to change anything about your present situation. I know that is not my place.”
“Damn right it isn’t,” Su She mumbled, though Lan Qiren though, with some satisfaction, that the complaint was half-hearted.
“Nevertheless, it’s true. You do deserve better.”
Su She scoffed a second time, then turned his head away. “You’re in no position to say that.”
Lan Qiren arched an eyebrow. “Aren’t I?”
Su She faltered, as Lan Qiren knew he would.
Of course, the victory turned tasteless at once: Lan Qiren was in a position to say something, and indeed he might be the only one who was, but he had no ability to do more than that. In truth he was helpless here, unable to change anything.
Just as he’d always been.
“You spent your entire childhood resenting those who treated you as an inferior version of Wangji,” Lan Qiren said with a sigh, because he had to still try, even if he knew it to be pointless. “Why remain with a lover who treats you as an inferior version of Xichen?”
Su She’s laugh rang low and hollow.
“Some things you don’t choose,” he said, voice dark, and Lan Qiren reluctantly nodded in agreement. It was only too true, as both of them knew. “Besides, I don’t necessarily agree that that’s what it is. And…and anyway, even if is, I don’t – it’s enough. In its way.”
Lan Qiren inclined his head. In the end, it was Su She’s business, not his; Su She was a man full grown, a sect leader in his own right – he could make his own decisions, and his own mistakes, and there was nothing Lan Qiren could do but stand by and watch it happen.
And yet…
“Do you wish to know –”
“No.” Su She’s voice was sharp, and there was no hesitation. “I don’t. I don’t want to know anything. Let it be.” He struggled briefly, then spat out. “Please.”
Lan Qiren let it be.
They reached the end of the hallway, and parted ways naturally, mere strangers with nothing to say with each other.
Just as it had always been.
For some reason, that was the interaction that lingered in Lan Qiren’s mind far later, when the whole rotten business of the Guanyin Temple was over and done with, when those who were dead were dead and those who lived, lived. It was strange, he thought, that it should be that moment, a quiet and unremarkable one, and not any of the others – not the multitude of others, a lifetime full of them, starting from when Su She was about seven years old and Lan Qiren had first learned the full magnitude of the injustice that had been done to him.
When Lan Qiren had first failed him, the same way the Lan sect had failed Su She all his life.
From the beginning – to the end.
Lan Qiren sighed to himself and shook his head. As always, there was nothing he could do. Even now, walking through the ruined temple, helping pick up the pieces in the wake of Lan Xichen’s devastation and Lan Wangji’s distraction, it all felt meaningless – too little, too late…
Lan Qiren was startled out of his thoughts when, upon turning a corner, he was nearly mowed down by a group of impetuous youths, every single one of whom should have known better.
“Oh no –” “It’s Teacher!” “Teacher Lan! We’re so sorry!”
Lan Qiren itched to say No running allowed and impose punishment, but of course that rule was only strictly imposed in the Cloud Recesses, which this horrible ruined temple was not. He didn’t think Jiang Cheng would particularly appreciate Lan Qiren imposing discipline in his own backyard.
Accordingly, Lan Qiren contented himself to merely stare them all down with his best I’m disappointed in you teacher glare, which was, if he did say so himself, quite good. Certainly it seemed to work very well on his audience: Lan Sizhui, of course, and Lan Jingyi, Ouyang Zizhen, Jin Ling…
“Didn’t you have time to get changed, Jin-gongzi?” he asked Jin Ling with a frown, abruptly distracted. “I would have thought there was enough time for someone to go to Jinlin Tower and back by now…?”
Jin Ling blinked at him owlishly. “Uh, I did?” he said, reaching up to rub his neck, where there was still a red mark, slowly fading now. “No, I definitely did! I changed!”
“You’re still wearing yellow,” Lan Qiren pointed out, then frowned even more deeply when Jin Ling looked confused. “Did you not want to change into mourning? Lianfang-zun was your uncle, and I thought you were close.”
“…he tried to murder me,” Jin Ling said blankly. “And all my friends. And the entire cultivation world.”
“Naturally if you do not wish to wear mourning for him, you don’t have to,” Lan Qiren said. “I had only thought that you might want to, even if only in mourning for the illusion that was lost.”
All of a sudden Jin Ling’s expression changed: lips pressed together tightly, eyes brimming with tears. “I…it wouldn’t be improper?”
Lan Qiren arched his eyebrows. “If anyone objects to you on the grounds of propriety, you may refer them to me, and I will correct them.”
That got smiles on most of their faces, and Lan Jingyi actually snorted out loud.
“See, I told you it’d be fine,” he said, nudging Jin Ling with his elbow. “And now it’s doubly fine! You know no one will dare to get in your face about it if Teacher’s backing you. Not even your jiujiu, who’s not afraid of anything…well, anything else.”
Jin Ling smiled, but a moment later it faded. “I didn’t ask the servants to bring any mourning clothes.”
“It’s fine,” Lan Jingyi said. “Just borrow some of mine – I have to go change anyway, we can go together.”
“You have mourning clothes, Lan Jingyi?” Wei Wuxian asked, turning in from the same hallway Lan Qiren had been in; he’d clearly been listening and was, as ever, utterly shameless about it. “That’s rather well-prepared of you!”
Lan Jingyi rolled his eyes in that full-body way that only adolescents could manage. “Obviously I didn’t bring them myself! Teacher would’ve had a couple of sets brought over for me…uh, right?”
“Yes,” Lan Qiren said, long-suffering. “I sent a request once I learned what had happened, and they would have likely arrived at the inn our sect is using by now. Go and assist them in unpacking, and don’t forget to set out a set for me – I trust you don’t mind if I wear morning as well, Jingyi?”
“Not at all,” Lan Jingyi said with a shrug. “You knew him better than I did.”
“I must admit I’m a bit surprised, Teacher Lan,” Wei Wuxian remarked. “Now if it were Zewu-jun, I’d understand, but I didn’t know you and Jin Guangyao were close.”
Wei Wuxian was a brilliant genius in many ways. He was also, even after all these years, a colossal idiot.
“Jin-gongzi is the one mourning for Lianfang-zun,” Lan Qiren explained, utilizing a slow and deeply condescending tone he would never adopt with his own students - much to Lan Jingyi and Lan Sizhui’s immediate and obvious delight. “On account of their close familial relationship. As you may recall from your time memorizing cultivator lineages, I lack any such relationship with Lianfang-zun.”
Wei Wuxian only looked amused by Lan Qiren’s tone, unsurprisingly. “I know that! But then why would you put on mourning clothes?”
“For Su Minshan, of course,” Lan Jingyi said, and dipped his head apologetically when Lan Qiren glared at him for his impropriety. “Uh, Sect Leader Su, I mean.”
“Uh, all right,” Wei Wuxian said, blinking. “Su She, huh? You’re – mourning Su She. That’s…uh…no, actually, there’s no explanation I can think of for that, that’s just weird. Why are you going to be in mourning for Su She?”
“Yeah, I thought the Gusu Lan sect had a thing against the Moling Su sect?” Ouyang Zizhen asked, looking between them, and Jin Ling nodded, an equally mystified expression on his face. “Why would you mourn their sect leader?”
“The same reason as Jin Ling,” Lan Qiren said shortly, not inclined to explain his family’s business further. “Jingyi, Jin Ling, you can both come back to the inn with me. Sizhui, you go assist Xichen in the meantime.”
Otherwise he’d get peppered with questions, and if it were Wei Wuxian doing the peppering, Lan Sizhui might find himself sharing information he shouldn’t even have – Lan Qiren had no doubt that Lan Jingyi had shared the details with his friend, and he’d never once thought about punishing him for it, even if it was technically a breach of confidentiality.
Of course, if Lan Qiren had hoped that simply leaving would be enough to get Wei Wuxian off their back, he was sorely mistaken.
“I know Su She was a Lan sect disciple once,” Wei Wuxian said, following along despite the implicit dismissal, which had at least gotten rid of Ouyang Zizhen and the other junior disciples. Completely shameless! “I didn’t know that sort of thing still counted once someone left the sect. Seems like a bit of an odd practice.”
Wei Wuxian was probably going to marry into the Lan sect, Lan Qiren reminded himself, then reminded himself yet again that it wasn’t a ‘probably’ so much as a ‘certainly’; the only question was how quickly Lan Wangji could get everything set up. If one looked at it in the light of soon-to-be family, Wei Wuxian’s questions weren’t that intrusive…or, rather, they were, and they were obnoxious to boot. But it wasn’t as if Wei Wuxian wouldn’t be able to get all the answers out of Lan Wangji later on if he wanted.
“It is not our general practice,” Lan Qiren informed Wei Wuxian stiffly as they entered the inn reserved by the Lan sect. “The circumstances relating to Sect Leader Su are outside the ordinary.”
“Am I allowed to know?” Jin Ling asked, glancing between all of them. He at least knew some manners, or at least had a sense of how much sects preferred to keep the knowledge of their dirty laundry limited to insiders. “If you need me to go…”
“It’s fine,” Lan Jingyi said, and Lan Qiren inclined his head in consent a moment later: it was more Lan Jingyi’s secret than his own, though he was certainly not unconnected to it. “It’s actually quite straightforward.”
It was not.
“You see,” Lan Jingyi said. “I’m Sect Leader Su’s son.”
Jin Ling’s jaw dropped, and Wei Wuxian’s eyebrows nearly hit his hairline.
“You’re joking,” Jin Ling said, and upon determining from their expressions that they were not, “But, but…how? Your surname is Lan!”
“Through your mother?” Wei Wuxian asked.
“Nope! Or, well, I guess technically –”
“Su She was a bastard child of a sect leader, in the same manner as Mo Xuanyu,” Lan Qiren said flatly, interrupting rather than let Lan Jingyi mess up the explanation any further. It was already shameful enough without adding mockery to it, though he didn’t hold it against Lan Jingyi. “And, again in the same manner as Mo Xuanyu, he was brought back to be raised in his father’s sect without being granted formal recognition.”
Now it was Wei Wuxian who was the one staring blankly. “But he was – it’s the Lan sect.”
“We are still only human, capable of fault,” Lan Qiren said, thinking to himself that he had said that too many times in his life, and also that he was so very sick and tired of cleaning up his brother’s messes. “And before you ask, yes, that means that Su Minshan was my nephew, just as Xichen and Wangji are.”
Su She’s mother had been a servant, one of the ones assigned to He Kexin’s house full of gentians, and if there was one small iota of comfort Lan Qiren could try to take out of the whole wretched disaster, it had been her persistent insistence that she had been wholly willing. His sister-in-law had apparently invited her to join in the marital bed, perhaps in an attempt to ensure her husband get someone else with child rather than her - if so, it had been a colossal failure, a fact borne out by the nearness of the two boys’ birthdays, Su She born only a few weeks after Lan Wangji.
“According to our sect rules, only the father or the sect leader can grant recognition,” he added, still bitter about the fact that his brother, who was both, hadn’t – and that the sect had colluded to keep the information away from Lan Qiren. He’d been away on sect business when the information had first come to light, and the elders had decided that he didn’t need to know. He had only become aware of it all when Su She was already seven years old, and by then it was far too late to do anything about it.
Well, anything useful, anyway. Lan Qiren had recklessly indulged himself in anger: he had broken his brother’s seclusion just long enough to punch him in the face, breaking his nose, and of course the only result of that had been getting sentenced to a full year of kneeling in repentance for violating Do not succumb to rage; he’d been careful to carry it out at night, when his nephews wouldn’t notice his absence. And all that might have been worth it if it had actually changed anything, but it hadn’t.
No: Su She continued not to be recognized, and the other teachers in the sect, the ones who had known and said nothing, continued to denigrate him with comparisons to Lan Wangji, a malicious contest in which Su She’s loss was predetermined. Lan Qiren had tried to stop it as much as he could, but he couldn’t be everywhere.
“There was nothing I could do,” he said, and hated himself for his helplessness, as always.
“Then…Lan Jingyi…?”
“He couldn’t keep me, so he gave me back to the Lan sect,” Lan Jingyi explained, casual and heartless – Lan Qiren knew it was better that Lan Jingyi didn’t take his father’s abandonment to heart, but it still made him wince. “Teacher insisted that I be given the Lan surname and included in the family genealogy.”
It had been the least Lan Qiren could do. Su She had already left the Lan sect by the time Lan Xichen had officially taken the position of sect leader, long past the point where Lan Qiren could have done anything for him, but what he couldn’t do for the father, he could do for Su She’s unwanted son – the son he wouldn’t or couldn’t acknowledge, because of what that child meant.
Because of the child’s other parent.
“Are you sure it’s all right for me to know this?” Jin Ling wanted to know, worrying his lower lip. “I mean, Senior Wei will probably marry in to the Lan sect, everyone knows that –”
“Hey, what?!”
But that’s not true for me,” Jin Ling continued, ignoring Wei Wuxian’s pointless exclamation, “I’m from another Great Sect…”
“I don’t mind,” Lan Jingyi said.
“I know you don’t, you’re an idiot! But – Teacher Lan…”
“I allowed you to hear it because it is relevant to you. To both of you,” Lan Qiren said, and his time even Lan Jingyi seemed surprised – as well he should, as this would be new information to him. Su She had entrusted Lan Qiren with his child on the condition that this particular information not be shared with him for as long as it could be used to damage the other person involved, but that condition had now passed. “Your uncle, Jin Guangyao, was the other parent.”
A long moment of silence.
“Wait,” Lan Jingyi said. “Wait, wait, wait…that means I’m the little mistress’ cousin? That’s great! Now you’ve got to listen to me, tang-di! I’m your family elder!”
Lan Qiren managed not to roll his eyes, but just barely. Sometimes, he genuinely wondered what side of the family Lan Jingyi got his exuberant personality from – neither Lan nor Jin seemed likely. Perhaps Su She’s mother? It seemed unlikely, from everything he’d heard about her, but one never knew…surely not Jin Guangyao’s mother, that seemed unlikelier still, but then again he supposed he’d never met her…
“Why did Su She give him up?” Wei Wuxian asked. Unlike Jin Ling, who was still flapping his mouth like a fish out of water, it was clear that he’d already started piecing things together; he was dreadfully clever that way. He’d probably even figured out that it was due to Su She’s misalignment, having been raised initially as a little girl, that the Lan sect had managed to keep the secret of his existence from Lan Qiren, and that it had only been once he was old enough to identify himself as a man that the truth had come out. “It doesn’t seem like something Jin Guangyao would insist on.”
“That was precisely the issue, to my understanding,” Lan Qiren explained. “Su Minshan knew that Lianfang-zun would insist on recognizing any child of his, even though the revelation of an illegitimate child would have greatly damaged his reputation and future prospects – not to mention his marriage, which was then in progress.”
The unlucky Jin Rusong had been conceived right around the same time, and it was probable that Qin Su had identified her pregnancy earlier even if the conception was later. Lan Qiren had always believed in his heart that that had been another motivation for Su She to give up his child, that Su She, having lived his own life in the shadow of a legitimate heir, always compared and always found wanting, would have wanted something better for his own son.
(Lan Qiren wondered in retrospect if things would have been different for Su She if Jin Guangyao had found out about Qin Su’s heritage a little earlier – or if things would have been different for Jin Rusong, for that matter, if Su She had been honest. But there was no point in thinking things like that.)
Either way, in the end, Su She had known exactly what having Jin Guangyao’s child would have involved, what it would have resulted in for Jin Guangyao, and he’d refused to do it. Whether it was selfish or selfless, whether he worried for his son’s future or feared Jin Guangyao’s resentment at destroying his, he’d made his choice.
“We’re cousins,” Jin Ling said, still sounding stunned, but starting to smile a little. “Cousins…”
“Don’t look so cheerful,” Wei Wuxian told Lan Jingyi, who’d started bouncing on his toes and grinning like a loon. “If you’re cousins, does that mean you get Jiang Cheng in the bargain?”
Lan Jingyi abruptly looked horrified, causing Lan Qiren to sigh and Jin Ling to burst out laughing.
“Enough,” Lan Qiren finally intervened. “Go put on your mourning clothes. There’s no memorial tablet made yet, but you can still light some incense. Go!”
They went, the two boys already starting to bicker with each other in low voices.
“That helped, I think,” Wei Wuxian said, watching them go. “Jin Ling, I mean. He’s been taking it – very hard.”
He glanced at Lan Qiren sidelong.
“You did that on purpose.”
Lan Qiren said nothing.
There wasn’t anything to say, really. He would do as he had always done: as much as he could, though not as much as was needed. And he would simply have to hope that it would be enough.
“Teacher…would it be easier for you if I stayed away?”
Lan Qiren glanced at Wei Wuxian, startled by the question, and by the unusually thoughtful tone it was asked in. “What do you mean?”
“From the Cloud Recesses,” Wei Wuxian clarified. “Lan Zhan wants to go back at once, and to bring me, but I wanted to know what you thought, Teacher Lan.”
“I would certainly rather you marry in than Wangji leave,” Lan Qiren said, not sure he was understanding the question correctly, and Wei Wuxian’s abrupt smile, somewhat embarrassed, suggested he hadn’t. Did he think that he and Lan Wangji were being subtle or something..? “Provided you try not to corrupt too many juniors, I expect we will learn to tolerate each other in time.”
Possibly a great deal of time.
“…it isn’t as though any other alternative wouldn’t be worse.”
“That’s not quite what I meant,” Wei Wuxian said, outright grinning now. “But I suppose it’s the best answer I’ll get.”
Lan Qiren supposed so. Although, he wondered… “Why did you even ask?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” Wei Wuxian said. “Something about hearing about yet another family tragedy your brother left you to have to handle made me think about how bad a hand you got dealt, that’s all.”
He laughed a little as Lan Qiren stared at him in shock.
“I’m just saying,” he said with a smile. “You deserve better. I hope you know that.”

Nie Huaisang would be that cryptic type of guy, who just appears when its least likely then he gives good info.
Lan Jingyi: So I want to commission a drawing for the bunnies but I dont know who to commission. Any ideas you guys.
Lan Sizhui: Maybe you can ask Senior Wei, he's really good.

Hi there! I recently followed you from AO3 and love your fics so much. ‘Love You When You’re Such A Mess’ was so cute with the drunk juniors and I was wondering if you plan on writing more drunk shenanigans with them? Zhuiling or otherwise though I do love zhuiling haha! Anyways, just wanted to show some love and thank you for the wonderful aspec fics 💜
Hi hi! ✨💕🌸
Sorry it took a while to get to this but thank you so soooo much?!?! I’m so glad you like my fics omg 🥺 I’ve actually had a drunk zhuiling + junior ficlet sitting in my docs for a hot minute and this ask inspired me to finish it so this is just for you, friend!
Short, sweet and 100% ace.
🖤🩶🤍💜
Lan Jingyi slammed his jug of wine onto the table. “New game! We drink every time Mistress Jin complains about one of my ideas.”
Jin Ling glared at him and smirked arrogantly. “So we drink every time you say something stupid? Got it.”
Ouyang Zizhen quietly watched their fiery exchange and frowned. By these terms, they’d be passed out in less than an hour. He’d switched his own wine for tea some time ago and was already the most sober out of the bunch but Jin Ling and Lan Jingyi had been drinking the entire time.
“Fine,” said Lan Jingyi, flashing a challenging grin at Jin Ling. “We’ll just drink.”
Jin Ling leaned his cheek against his palm and quirked a brow. “And?”
“Whoever passes out or throws up first loses, of course.”
Jin Ling rolled his eyes. “What kind of a game is that? So boring.”
“Complaint!” Lan Jingyi took another swig of his wine and grinned. “Afraid I’ll out-drink you?”
Ouyang Zizhen sipped his tea and observed as Jin Ling sat up, grabbed his jug of wine and took a drink. “Stupid,” Jin Ling muttered.
Lan Jingyi drank again. “You calling what I say ‘stupid’ is still complaining.”
Jin Ling drank after him and glared. “And you saying what I call ‘stupid’ is complaining, is stupid.”
At this point, they were taking drink after drink while having a particularly heated staring contest. Ouyang Zizhen nervously bit his bottom lip and lifted his hand as though he wanted to speak in a classroom. “Um… maybe I should go get Sizhui—“
“No!” Lan Jingyi blurted. “If he joins in, we’ll both lose.”
Jin Ling furrowed his brow and huffed with dry amusement. “Sizhui, stickler for the rules, joining a drinking game? Don’t be ridiculous.”
“You don’t know him like I do,” Lan Jingyi declared, his tone mildly taunting. A smirk passed his lips when he noticed the slightest hint of jealousy in Jin Ling’s expression.
Their heads were buzzing from how quickly they’d been drinking but Lan Jingyi was definitely having a harder time hiding his drunkenness. Almost instantly, his eyes felt heavy and the table beneath him was starting to look a lot like a pillow.
Jin Ling grinned and took another drink to rub in his impending victory. “Lan blood failing you already?”
His comment fueled Lan Jingyi enough to take one last drink before he slumped over and laid his head down, cheek smashed against the table. “Com…plaint…”
Jin Ling rolled his eyes at his quiet snores. “Lightweight.” He stumbled as he pushed himself to his feet, jug of wine still in hand.
Ouyang Zizhen frowned and got up with him. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Jin Ling snapped, sounding more hostile than he meant to. He waved his hand dismissively at Lan Jingyi. “Just… look after him, make sure he doesn’t throw up everywhere. I’m going to bed.”
Ouyang Zizhen wasn’t given a chance to respond as Jin Ling swayed out of the room, sipping more wine as he went. He hadn’t gotten very far before stopping at another room and staring at the door for what seemed like ages.
He really should’ve just went to bed but his feet seemed to have a mind of their own as they carried him closer to the door. Can’t even drink with us, he thought. So good, so obedient… He leaned his forehead against the door’s surface and smiled with fond amusement. “So perfect,” he whispered.
Without another thought, he knocked.
Lan Sizhui was just about to snuff the candles and lanterns in his room when he heard the slow, messy raps on his door. He had no idea who could possibly need him at this time of night, especially since his seniors hadn’t traveled with them to Jinlintai.
It could only be one of his peers, which worried him enough to answer. “Jingyi, I swear, if you lit something on fire again…”
He made his way over and opened the door, fully expecting chaos… only to see an unusually calm Jin Ling slumped against the frame, face flushed and amber eyes half-lidded. His golden hair crown was crooked and his bangs were a disheveled mess around his face as he pressed his cheek against the doorframe and closed his eyes. “Hi.”
Dumbfounded, Lan Sizhui peeked down both sides of the hallway to see if any of the other juniors were with him but Jin Ling had apparently stumbled his way to Lan Sizhui’s room on his own. “Young Master Jin, are you alright?”
“Mhm.” The smell of alcohol on Jin Ling’s breath was unmistakable as he spoke. “How are you?”
Lan Sizhui sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “How much did you drink tonight?”
An offended pout soured Jin Ling’s face. “Two drinks at the most,” he whined. “I’m not even—“ His body lurched with a hiccup and his face went pale as he cupped his hand over his mouth and frowned, mumbling into his fingers. “—Drunk.”
“Are you feeling sick?” Lan Sizhui watched him with concern and opened the door wide. Warm lantern light flooded Jin Ling with an ambient haze and the remnants of incense revived his senses as Lan Sizhui stepped aside and invited him in. “I have some medicine that can help—“
Jin Ling stumbled inside and almost tripped over his own feet on his way towards a large pot in the corner of Lan Sizhui’s room. He dropped to his knees and wretched into it, a small whimper escaping his throat as though he were about to cry.
It reminded Lan Sizhui of all the times he’d woken up his seniors in the middle of the night every time he felt sick as a child. Something soft tugged at his heart and he hurried to Jin Ling’s side, holding his hair away from his face and gently combing his fingers through the strands to comfort him.
Jin Ling gripped the sides of the pot and took a moment to breathe, his nausea slowly subsiding. “I’m sorry,” he whispered, more worried about how gross and embarrassing it was while Lan Sizhui was simply worried about him.
Lan Sizhui chuckled to lighten the mood and make him feel better. “Do you think I’ve never had to do this for Jingyi? It’s really no trouble.”
Jin Ling scrunched his nose at hearing Jingyi’s name. “Gods, don’t mention him right now.”
A knowing grin spread across Lan Sizhui’s face. “Let me guess. You two were competing again?”
He kept hold of his hair as Jin Ling lifted his face from the pot and glared miserably at the wall. “Not really… it was just a dumb game.” His words slurred together and his eyes felt heavy.
“Oh? Did you win?”
“I’dunno. Don’t really care. I’m so tired.”
Lan Sizhui nodded and let go of his hair. He pushed himself to his feet and offered Jin Ling his hands. “I can take you back to your room if—“
Jin Ling accepted the help to stand but once he was up, he clumsily swayed over to Lan Sizhui’s bed and splattered face-first onto the surface.
Lan Sizhui stood awkwardly next to the pot, mouth hanging open and hands suspended in the air. The minute Jin Ling’s body sunk into the bed, he knew any attempt to get him back up and guide him to his own room would fail miserably.
With a defeated sigh, Lan Sizhui took a moment to place the pot out into the hall, then fished several blankets and pillows from a nearby trunk. Jin Ling squinted and watched curiously as the blankets were laid onto the floor, creating a small make-shift bed. “What’re you doing?”
Lan Sizhui looked up at him and nodded courteously. “Giving you the bed, of course.”
Just as Lan Sizhui laid down and pulled a blanket over himself, Jin Ling pushed through his drunken exhaustion and sat up with his brow furrowed. He huffed and lazily rolled off the bed, padding over to Lan Sizhui and dropping down to lay next to him on the layered blankets.
“Ah—Young Master Jin?” Lan Sizhui stared at him in disbelief, waiting for an explanation.
“I’m not gonna take your bed,” Jin Ling muttered. “If you’re sleeping in the floor, so am I.”
Lan Sizhui blinked at him, utterly perplexed by his drunken logic. “We can share the bed, then. It’s more comfortable—“ He was about to stand up when Jin Ling’s hand grabbed his arm and pulled him back down to the floor.
“Stop making me chase you,” he droned. “I’m too tired, just shut up and stay.”
With his arm trapped in Jin Ling’s grasp, he couldn’t get up even if he wanted to so Lan Sizhui fell quiet and laid back down, catching the moment Jin Ling’s eyes fluttered open to look at him. Lan Sizhui lifted his brows curiously. “I thought you said you were tired.”
“I am,” Jin Ling slurred.
“Closing your eyes tends to help with that.”
They stared at each other in silence until Jin Ling loosened his grip on Lan Sizhui’s arm and reached over the run his fingers through his long, loose hair. “You look good with your hair down.”
Lan Sizhui froze in place, his face growing warm. “Oh, um—thank you…?” He panicked when Jin Ling inched closer to him, the heavy scent of alcohol still on his breath and half-moon eyes clearly trained on Lan Sizhui’s lips. Before he could lean in further, Lan Sizhui cupped his hand over Jin Ling’s mouth to stop him.
The gesture stunned Jin Ling for a moment before his expression sank and he mumbled something into Lan Sizhui’s palm. Lan Sizhui lowered his hand and frowned. “Sorry—“
“Did I do something wrong?” The dejection in Jin Ling’s voice was unmistakable, his face plagued with genuine sadness.
Lan Sizhui shook his head and offered a small but reassuring smile. “You didn’t. It’s okay. But we can’t… do that. Not when you’re drunk.”
Jin Ling deflated and pouted into the blankets. “If you don’t like me, you can just say it.”
“A-Ling,” Lan Sizhui reached over and brushed his thumb over the back of Jin Ling’s hand. “I like you. That’s why I stopped you.”
Everything Lan Sizhui said sounded like riddles to Jin Ling’s intoxicated mind. Confusion scrunched his face as he spoke. “That doesn’t make any sense.”
Lan Sizhui chuckled and nodded in agreement. “It doesn’t right now but it will in the morning. I promise.”
“Whatever,” Jin Ling murmured, letting his fingertips idly trace the lines of Lan Sizhui’s palm.
“Are you feeling better?” Lan Sizhui asked.
Jin Ling shrugged, still looking hurt and confused by the rejection. The soft lantern light complemented Lan Sizhui’s warm smile. “Can you look at me?”
After a few more seconds of pouting, Jin Ling’s amber eyes flicked up at him, slanted in a glare. Lan Sizhui blinked and laughed nervously. “Er… maybe with a little less hostility?”
Jin Ling narrowed his eyes even more, causing Lan Sizhui to bubble with laughter and Jin Ling’s expression to soften at the sight. Something about the pure joy on Lan Sizhui’s face made his senses buzz and he genuinely couldn’t tell if it was the alcohol or not. “You make my head feel like bees.”
“Wha—bees? Is that bad?” Lan Sizhui tried to stop laughing but it was hard with Jin Ling saying such ridiculous things. To his surprise, Jin Ling responded by scooting even closer to him until his head was resting right under Lan Sizhui’s chin.
“It’s nice,” Jin Ling whispered. Before Lan Sizhui could respond, he’d already drifted off to sleep, his quiet breaths warming the small space between them.
Lan Sizhui adjusted the blanket so it covered Jin Ling’s shoulders, then relaxed and rested his hand over the other boy’s jaw and neck. “Bees, huh?”
He closed his eyes and breathed in the soft scent of scarlet peach and clove on Jin Ling’s hair, smiling against it as he gently brushed his thumb across his cheek. “Sweet dreams, A-Ling.”

You stared ahead of you, eyes darting around before landing on Sizhui as he practiced his music skills. His hair was flowing down his back, slightly tied back with a second ribbon so it wouldn’t come in front of his face. His fingers pulled at the strings of the guqin, creating a beautiful melody that echoed through the place. You sat down in the grass, leaning against a tree before closing your eyes as you continued to listen to the music. When it stopped, you opened your eyes and noticed Sizhui in front of you, staring down.
“Why are you sitting here for, (y/n)?” “Just listening.” You answered as he sat next to you. You laid your head on his shoulder with a sigh.
“You are getting better.” You complimented and he laughed sweetly, thanking you. You looked at him as you felt your heart beating faster. For the last 2 years, you had a major crush on him. You grew up together in the burial mountain under Wen Ning, Wen Qing and Wei Wuxian with Sizhui by your side as the only 2 children. When Wei Wuxian died, Lan Wangji took both of you into the Lan clan and acted as a brother/father figure to both of you. You were a year younger than Sizhui, so you had a tendency to actually call Wangji dad, something that only you did and Wangi was okay with for some reason. And then you basically grew up here beside Sizhui, only growing closer and closer in your friendship with the years.
“When are you going to practice the dizi (Chinese flute like Wei Wuxian’s) again?” He asked and you looked away, shrugging carelessly. “Are you still ashamed?” He asked and you looked at him with a shy smile. Just then, Wangji walked in and you smiled, jumping up and running to Wangji before stopping right in front of him.
“Are we doing something, dad?! Are we going on a hunt or-” You stopped rambling as he looked at you, looking down and biting your bottom lip.
“Sorry...” You mumbled and he chuckled, patting your head softly before looking at Sizhui.
“Both of you have a mission with the others.” He said and you smiled brightly, looking back at Sizhui with a smile. He smiled back before bowing to Wangji. While they talked, you had run off to greet your group and wrapped your arm around Jingyi’s neck, pulling him down to your height. He let out a yelp before glaring at you.
“Hey!” You smiled before looking at the other 2. “Hey, Zizhen, hey, Jin Ling!” You greeted and Zizhen smiled as Jin Ling just nodded.
“Why is she here?” “Cause I’m a good fighter and have the brains in this group.” You said, sticking out your tongue at him only for him to do the same back at you. You let go off Jingyi, who stood back up to his normal height and you crossed your arms.
“What are we doing..?” You asked and Jingyi sighed. “Some spirits are causing a ruckus in a town.” He explained and you nodded at it before shrugging. “It’ll be a short adventure.” You whined and they all chuckled at your response. Sizhui walked to you a few minutes later and you all left, walking to the town. The way there was long, you had walked for a full day before arriving, and you were all tired yet still had to start with the mission.
“Let’s rest first before starting. It’s night anyway.” Sizhui said and everyone agreed as a room was rented. Yes, you all slept in the same room. You quickly jumped on the bed and basically claiming it for yourself. They didn’t really care that much as you were the only girl and they refused to let you sleep on the ground, but you did it every single time anyway. Sizhui sat next to you and you smiled as you laid down on the pillow while Sizhui laid next to your bed, just like he always did.
The next day you had all separated from each other, each of you searching for information (some better than others Jingyi). After around 6 hours later, you were finally searching around for the actual monster.
“I’ll check over there.” You said as you walked to the side of the cave that you had just entered and entering a second pathway of the cave. After awhile, you couldn’t see anything and took your dizi, playing a few notes before some light appeared in front of you, making your eyes widen. In front of you stood at least 6 ghouls, all now staring at you with hungry eyes. You took a step back before going into a full sprint only to fall when a seventh one grabbed your leg, taking a chunk out of your leg. Letting out a bloodcurdling scream as it did, you sliced at the ghoul with your sword and hitting it straight in it’s neck and making it let go of you. You scrambled out your feet, running out before almost bumping into Sizhui.
“(Y/n)?” “It’s ghouls!” You exclaimed as you almost tripped over your own feet. Just as you said that, loud screams filled the room followed by the ghouls running in. You heard someone curse loudly (most likely Jingyi or Jin Ling) as you all started running. Halfway, the ghouls had catched up with you and were clawing at your skin. Sizhui was already dragging you because of your leg, but when a ghoul clawed at his arm, he let go of you and you fell. The ghoul that was focused on him was now staring at you and lunged, which you missed by rolling to the side and pushing yourself up. You didn’t feel any of the clawing or bites as pure adrenaline rushed through your veins. Once you all exited the cave, the ghouls hissed at the sunlight that hit them, as you turned around. You took your dizi, Sizhui took his guqin and the other 3 took their swords. Both you and Sizhui started to play as the others attacked. When the ghouls were gone, you stopped playing and sat down on the ground as the pain finally kicked in. You pulled your leg up and inspected the now several bite and claw marks on them before sighing in pain. You could hear some shuffling before spotting Sizhui, who was crouched in front of you with a frown on his face.
“Are you alright? Nevermind, stupid question.” He mumbled as he opened his bag, pulling out bandages and an ointment before he applied it to the wounds. You hissed every time he touched the wounds, trying to pull back only for Sizhui to tighten his grip on your leg.
“Sit still or the poison might kick in.” He mumbled and you hissed again before biting your lip and leaning back as you hands gripped your robes.
“It hurts...” You whined and Sizhui looked up, worry in his eyes.
“Can you move your legs?” He asked and you tried to move them, but unfortunately they barely did. You groaned, trying again before shaking your head. He frowned, pressing certain spots and watching your reaction. You winced every time, and he nodded.
“At least they’re not paralyzed.” He said as he put everything away again. He then turned around and looked at you.
“Get on.” He said and you blushed before pushing yourself forward a bit before wrapping your arms around his shoulders. His hands took hold of your legs before he stood up and pushed you up once.
“Let’s get back to the inn.” He called to the rest, watching the rest get up and follow suit. On the way back, you had started to slowly lose consciousness until you finally felt your head fall down on his shoulder.
Lan Sizhui stayed by your side back in the inn while the others went out with some elders to clear the mission. He had placed a damp towel on your forehead, hoping for your fever to go down. You woke up a few minutes later, but you weren’t yourself. Rather, you were quite delirious as you tried to get out of the bed. He eventually got you to lay down as he laid beside you. You had wrapped yourself around him, arms tightly around his waist as you mumbled nonsense.
“I can’t help it...” You whined loudly and then you paused, which made him look at you. You were looking at him, waiting for some reaction.
“Can’t help what?” He dared to ask and you pushed your body up slightly.
“I like Sizhui~ I like Sizhui so much, but I’m to afraid to say anything...” You whined, letting your head fall down again while Sizhui just looked at you with shock.
“He’s soooo~ pretty and nice. He takes care of me, but he doesn’t see me as more then a friend... Why did I have to fall in love with him? But how couldn’t I? He’s too perfect...” You continued to whine, but the rest of your sentences were more mumbled against his chest.
He couldn’t help his heartbeat increasing as you confessed. He also couldn’t help but feel bad as you laid your soul bare, not knowing that you were doing it to the person who shouldn’t hear. You fell asleep again not much later, still clinging on to him like he’d disappear.
When you woke up again, you were alone in the room. Your body was fully covered with a thick blanket and there was a towel next to your head, which had probably fallen off earlier. You sat up, whining as you felt a pang of pain shoot through your body as well as the throbbing in your leg. Your head was throbbing as well, thoughts racing through your mind as you tried to remember everything that led to this moments. You came up with nothing, of course.
The door opened and you looked up to see Sizhui, smiling at the male only to frown when he didn’t return the smile. He just looked away from your gaze, awkwardly grabbing the towel from your bed and washing it out in a bowl of water.
“Sizhui?” You asked and he flinched slightly before looking at you, his eyes still not meeting yours. You moved slightly before hissing at the pain, which caused Sizhui to quickly stand by your side. He was clearly concerned as his hand held yours, eyes full of concern as he looked at you for any indication of pain.
“I’m okay.” You quickly said and he nodded before letting go of your hand. You frowned again, trying to look him in the eye.
“Why are you avoiding me?” You asked, but he didn’t answer and tried to walk away instead. You grabbed his arm and pulled him back quickly, making him sit down next to you.
"Talk." You said curtly and he looked at you before sighing softly, still not looking you in the eye fully.
"You just said some stuff earlier..." He mumbled and you frowned, thinking back to earlier.
Then it hit you... You had confessed your love to the person that the confession was meant for.
"Oh, God... That was you!" You exclaimed as you stood up in frustration, hands grabbing onto your hair as you softly pulled the strands.
"So... yeah...." You sighed loudly as you sat back next to him.
"This is awkward..." You joked as you looked at him and he returned your smile softly.
"I meant it, by the way. Sorry if you don't, you know, feel the same..." You said and he looked at you before softly grabbing your hand, a blush appearing on his face. He didn't say anything, but just intertwined your fingers and you took it as a sign of returned feelings. Softly placing your head on his shoulder, you sighed in content with a small smile.
The rest of the boys returned from the mission not much later, stopping at the sight in front of them. You and Sizhui were laying on the bed, Sizhui hugging you from behind as you held on of his hands, and both of you were smiling brightly. Jingyi stared at the other two, pointing at the pair in shock.
"You're seeing that, right?! When did he confess? Did I die?" He asked and you opened one eye to glare at the loud male.
"Jingyi?" "Yes?" He turned around and you sighed at the dumb smile on his face. Your eyes connected to Jin Ling and both of you then looked back at Jingyi.
"Shut up."

For the AU meme-- mdzs gang in persona 5, or, alternatively, jin ling in a high school coming of age story
I don't know Persona 5, I'm sorry!!
so:
Jin Ling usually spends his summers with his uncle Jiang Cheng and the school year in Lanling with his uncle Jin Guangyao, but THIS year, he's staying in Yunmeng because he's been getting bullied too much by the kids in Lanling and it's getting out of hand
Helpful classmate Ouyang Zizhen is tasked with showing around Jin Ling, as well as two exchange students from the elite private school in Gusu (why are there exchange students within the same country? Because). This leads to some kind of Wacky Hijinks (tm) as Jin Ling immediately gets off on the wrong foot with Lan Jingyi and Ouyang Zizhen gets distracted while showing them around and they all end up getting in trouble
Jin Ling panics because if he gets in trouble here also he'll just get sent back to Lanling next year, and he wants to stay in Yunmeng, so he starts avoiding Zizhen and the Gusu boys
Somehow Fairy is instrumental in reuniting them
Bonus fact: He also has to go to Yunmeng because Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen are going on a months-long international date business trip

🔥unpopular opinion for Junior ships(mdzs)?
Literally the only one I care about is Zhuiyi.
Jin Ling is like 13 and doesn't care about a romance at all given he pouts when Wangxian are too into each other every single time he has an interaction in their vicinity (kid is dying and is probably like THIS ISN'T the time and gross grown ups kissing and fraternizing).
I'm sorry, but Ouyang Zizhen is just... my god you are the sweetest straight boy but totally unfunnily straight.
Lan Sizhui is another one that's a kid and in all honesty really probably isn't the best candidate to deal with Jin Ling as I feel, personally, Jin Ling thinks he is patronizing even when Lan Sizhui is not. Makings of being friends but no actual romantic inclination. Lan Sizhui also seems to have his hands more full of either keeping Lan Jingyi in line when needed or making trouble as he wants with Lan Jingyi.
Lan Jingyi... is Lan Jingyi, pretty sure he's more invested in other people's romance and gossip, then he is for anything himself. Like all those girls that read shojou manga and talk about how great it is, but when it's real life they're like "this isn't like my mangas and this is really actually disappointing". Like when he was let down Wei Wuxian didn't dramatically separate from Lan Wangji in Yi City. But he can pick on Jin Ling as an actual troll to be annoying with no ulterior motive other than Jin Ling is easy to pick on and the easiest target.
