JIMIN AND JUNGKOOK AND THE HATE THEY DON'T DESERVE.

Being part of this fandom when your biases are Jimin and Jungkook is not easy. Forget about whether you believe there is something more between them; being a fan of them in this fandom is difficult. Every day is a new reason to feel helpless, upset, disappointed, and afraid that they see all the hatred they receive. Hatred they don't deserve, particularly Jimin.

I will never tire of saying how wonderful Jimin is and that, even though I don't know him, I can tell he is a good person, friend, and colleague. A respectful, affectionate, hardworking, dreamy person. One of those people who doesn't seem real, one of those people who are perfectly imperfect. And that's why I'll never understand why he receives so much hatred and why many in this fandom allow it.

Jimin has always been the number one enemy of Taekookers and many Solos, for different reasons but one in common: envy. These groups have always been able to say whatever they want about Jimin, and practically nothing, aside from his fans and Jikookers is said in response. And what's worse, when these fans say something to defend Jimin, they are labelled as Solos or reduced to mere shippers. Jimin cannot be defended, apparently.

The hatred they, particularly Jimin, have been receiving since their trip to Japan with Jungkook was announced is sad. What has happened since before the rumours that Jimin and Jungkook would enlist together in the army came out has crossed all kinds of limits. Jimin has been insulted in the vilest ways I have ever seen in my life, and virtually no one says anything—no one, except the usual ones, of course. When the rumours surfaced in the Korean press, the hatred intensified. Haters once again realized that they could say and do whatever they wanted, and nothing would happen to them because, once again, the fandom, in general, did nothing to defend Jimin, to silence the haters. Funny how that doesn't happen when it comes to another member.

After Big Hit confirmed that not only Jimin and Jungkook would enlist together but also that they would do it under a special program that guaranteed they would be together for the duration of their military service, hell broke loose. Disinformation became an everyday thing, insults, mockery too, and the target remains the same: Jimin.

You are guilty when you do something wrong, but you are also guilty when you do nothing when you see others doing something wrong. I believe even the latter is worse. Jimin and Jungkook decided to apply for a program that guarantees they will be together throughout their military service for reasons they only know and don't have to disclose, nor do they have to give explanations. That decision, which surely was not easy to make, must be respected by everyone, period. Not questioned, not belittled, not explained to fit into absurd narratives.

The way Taekookers always paint Jungkook as this manipulable person, incapable of making his own decisions, who always does what the company, according to them, tells him is deplorable, disrespectful, and further proof that they don't care about Jungkook. The way I've seen many diagnose Jungkook with different things, in treating Jimin as a helpless and weak being who needs a bodyguard with him to say that they applied to the program because they had to and not because they wanted to is insulting. And yet virtually no one says anything.

Jimin and Jungkook will never be the enemies that many want them to be. They will always be the two members who seem to be the closest. They will always be the ones who understand each other with just a look. They will always be the ones with the same sense of humour, who laugh in the same way, and who simply share more things in common. They will always be the ones who promised to go to the moon together and the ones who seem to have no secrets from each other. Those who comfort each other, who are there when one is sick etc.

JIMIN AND JUNGKOOK WILL NEVER BE THE ENEMIES MANY WISH THEM TO BE.

Reducing all the hatred they are receiving right now, and that they have always received, to a shipping issue is insulting, it's cowardly. If your conclusion is to blame Jikookers only, ignoring absolutely everything that Taekookers say daily, what Solos and akgaes say daily, let me tell you that you are a hater too. And you are, in a way, worse. YOU are the problem. If you are unable to stand up for them because you think it will make you a shipper, you are the problem because it goes beyond that. If you are afraid to defend the love, affection and trust that they obviously have for each other, if you are afraid to acknowledge that they are close, that they are great friends, you are the problem too. No one is asking you to accept that Jimin and Jungkook are married or anything like that, what many of us would expect from everyone who claims to be a fan of BTS, is to defend the members of EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. If you are incapable of doing that, you are the problem too. You are also a HATER.

I hope the time the boys are in the army serves to clean up this fandom from so much rubbish. I hope they find a fandom that supports all seven of them unconditionally when they return. That respects them and only wants the best for them.

But in this life, nothing is that easy, right? I'm afraid to think about what they will say when the documentary is released and what will happen when whatever Jimin and Jungkook filmed together is released. In a way, I'm glad they won't be here when all that comes out because the chances of them not seeing any of that will be high.

Jk NEVER ever called Jimin ugly. Not even once! Yes he ranked Jimin last in looks among all 7 members several times but so what? So what if Jk honestly felt like out of all the 7 members Jimin was 7th in looks? Did that mean he thought Jimin was ugly? No! That only means he thought out of all 7 Jimin was the least handsome. Listen, pple get to fall in love with others for different reasons and looks are not always the first thing they go for. We know Jk clearly thinks Jimin is beautiful, cute and charming as hell but I don’t think Jimin’s looks are what attracted Jk at all. It is who Jimin is as a person that got Jk hooked and even tho he enjoyed admiring Jimin’s abs and butt, that definitely wasn’t what he cared about the most! If you’ve ever listened to Jk describe Jimin, then you would know that boy loves the person Park Jimin is. He doesn’t just call Jimin handsome or pretty or cute and ends there no! Boy talks about how kind, considerate, passionate and hardworking Jimin is. He talks about how Jimin takes care of him and how Jimin loves him even more than his own brother. Which other member have you heard Jk talk about like this? Jk will say he admires Namjoon’s brain, he loves how kind Hobi is, he loves Suga’s attitude, Jin’s humour, he would say Tae is handsome and unique but my man will talk endlessly about Jimin highlighting those aspects of his that have nothing to do with his looks! What does this tell you? Yes it is possible Jk might have thought Jimin wasn’t the most attractive person but if u think that means he hated Jimin, then u are one hell of a shallow individual. You can love someone dearly and still not think they are the most good looking person. Same way u can think or say someone is extremely goodlooking and not give a tiny rats ass about them. Some of y’all need to grow up and get some depth.

Have u seen the way Jk looks at Jimin? No you don’t look at someone like this if you don’t think they are absolutely amazing.

I’m not friends with any solo stans, Anon. I’ve said what I think about solos before so I won’t rehash it, but given what I said, any ‘friendships’ I’d have with the solo wouldn’t be genuine. I know it, so why bother, you know? Anyway, while I’m not friends with solos, there are a few I occasionally talk to who generally give me the gist of what’s current. They’re intelligent, able to form a proper argument in their heads and see from an opposite point of view. So in many ways, my kind of people… they just also happen to be more morally ambiguous than I am and a little bit sociopathic. So, of course, they’re solos. Anyway, the ones I sometimes see are good at keeping their opinions concise and coherent. I also really appreciate their extremely sardonic sense of humour. I’ve noticed solos are really good at that biting, cynical, but richly humoured commentary that war veterans take on during their third campaign. You get this sense especially from PJMs. Those bitches have fought taekookers every day of their lives. They’ve seen some shit. Because taekookers are the actual scum of the earth, backwater stupid, oloriburukus that god forbid you ever encounter in real life. And nobody has to deal with taekookers more than PJMs.

And so for that reason, when I receive a silly ask from someone who is obviously a PJM, I usually delete it before I even finish reading it. Quietly, respectfully (?), and promptly. Rather than post them for jokes or whatever (though this might happen later lol). Not like that’s something special - a lot of asks I think are weird do get deleted and every solo gets the same treatment from me.

I don’t like that solos are so myopic and pessimistic. I don’t like the mindset being a solo stan (especially the sort at the frontlines of dealing with other lunatics) forces you to inhabit. I do like that their communities are a bit more close knit than ARMY, but that also means that solo stans have much less variation in thought and belief, than ARMYs do. It kinda irks me too that a lot of them are really tunnel-visioned in particular ways. But at least they provide raw manpower for supplemental streams and sales. And for voting, solos are admittedly more disciplined on being consistent at this, than any other section of the fandom.

Too many of them just want to see it all burn. I don’t like that either.

And so, no Anon, I’m not friends with solos nor do I think it’s alright to be friends with one. But it’s not like you need my opinion anyway, since everyone here just does what they want.

Do you really not realize that you react to Daeun the same way taekookers react to jennie and mijoo?

What's the point of looking for ways to not believe that Jimin had a girlfriend? Since when is this something unreal or bad? I guess most pjms just want him to have a boyfriend, not a girlfriend, and that's funny. The photos of Jimin will never be leaked and he will never walk with his girlfriend/boyfriend by the hand in Paris. Because he has a brain and he knows how to hide his relationship. So will you always now deny his relationship with someone (who is obviously not a guy) because there is not enough evidence? Well, it's convenient.

Do you remember that picture of the guy in Jimin's sweatshirt? Pjms had no problem with the theory that this was his boyfriend. But now we have a girl who literally lived in the same apartment with Jimin for a while and suddenly you have a thousand reasons not to believe that they were in a relationship. And I don't give a fuck about this daeun, I'm just sad that pjms turned out to be no better than taekookers. I really thought that if there was obvious evidence that Jimin had a girlfriend, pjms would accept it. But it turned out that you all also know how to look for reasons not to believe in what you don't want to believe.

I don't even have to look for reasons to not believe. In fact, it looks like you are looking for reasons to believe in it because how the fuck does someone find an unknown actress on Instagram and starts looking at her stories?? How?? That's what's weird to me. She wasn't an idol, she has absolutely no relationship to any member or anyone from their circle of friends. You literally clinged to a completely unknown actress after Santa Monica beach rumour failed, after Jimin being a parent of two failed.

Did you know a trans woman who owns a gay bar blocks away from Jimin's home followed him and only him on Instagram? That zzinu, Jimin's best friend, goes to her parties? She follows all of BTS members now, but for a couple of years she only followed Jimin. Did you look for her circle of friends to check if someone else lives in 91? Literally so many people I could connect Jimin too if I really wanted to and was jobless and obsessed enough to go stalking their Instagrams. But I just don't care. I was never the type of fan to go searching for that, I didn't even know about daeun until months ago, while y'all have been talking about her for years. That's how irrelevant the whole thing is 😭

Is this man living with Jimin, too? Wait, no, I mean.. Did he live with Jimin for a while?

Hell, even Jimin and Jungkook had the same dishware during the same you say daeun was living with Jimin. I wonder how can Jimin have the same items as two other people simultaneously, he was dating both at the same time?

A mattresses shop followed Jimin and Jungkook only for a while, and then followed Hoseok. I assumed that meant they had bought stuff from there. Were the three of them sleeping together?

I have made jokes about Jimin and women, too. I've also been around people, "fans" like you who so badly want to gossip about things that just don't exist and it's annoying. I don't mind talking about Jimin dating anybody, I just don't see anything worth talking about it in the relationship you so badly want to believe in, so bad that you go searching strangers Instagram stories trying to come up with something to make a case. I'm sure you can find someone to talk about it, since it's so confirmed and obvious there must be a lot of people out there ready to discuss it, so just go find them. I don't see anything worth discussing and I just keep going in circles on this topic.

I don't even talk about taennie except mentioning in passing the fact that they were fucking, because I don't have anything to say about taennie either. And it doesn't mean anything that I don't know what to say. It just means I don't have anything to say, like 😭 oh my god look at tthe same table what a lovely couple 🥰🥹 is that it? Jimin is literally not even part of those conversations - he's nowhere in the picture and all you want to discuss is inanimate objects. Just think about that. You're literally asking me to discuss inanimate objects. And that's what you're just not getting it and mistakingly think that I have a problem with Jimin dating women. I don't have any problem. It's you who takes offense on the fact that I don't believe in this particular rumour. Why do you have a problem with me wanting to see at least a photo of them together? Let's unravel that first.

"If there was obvious evidence" that's the thing. It's not enough evidence to convince me. If you're convinced, that's on you. To me, you're no different and you're just as ridiculous as jikookers who thought Jimin was living with Jungkook because they owned the same pots.

As the gates into another year, to be honest with you, a year that I was dreading to start, slowly started to open in a dramatic light cutting through where 2023 was slowly dying, fading away, I dared to look one last time behind my shoulder, not expecting to see a lot, but lives are filled with memories. Most of them, I kicked out, not considering them worth the struggle, yet 2023 still looked thick, thickest were my worries and fears for the future, but also LONGING built their communities.

If you are an ARMY (I guess you are if you are still here) we may share some of them even if their weight may differ. If you are coming here from one of my works on AO3, you already know where is this going, if you read the title, this may start to look to you too long and boring.

Through my writing journey, I came across many good ideas but my motivation to write the last dot before the THE END goodbye, was challenging me. And it still is. I find it hard to finish things just for myself, sometimes I need guidance.

I’m currently in the midst of rewatching Run BTS and I’m still not over the absolute hilarity of the VD double ep, honestly Hobi was so damn funny during the roller coaster tester, got to mention the cake game where they pushed him😂, it was in good humour of course and you couldn’t help but laugh. Had to love the teamwork between Taekook during the second to last game, poor RM still had no idea how it worked and poor Yoongi kept dying!

IT WAS HILARIOUS 🤣 jungkook had too much fun pushing others when they were fighting for their lives with the VR 🤣 they're too funny ffs

if you sent me an ask responding to a discussion happening on a different blog – i've said my piece there and i don't really feel the need to elaborate my position further. going to answer a couple bits under the cut and that's going to be it from me.

like i said, i saw plenty of jokes involving non-jimin members on twitter in the direct aftermath of namjoon's wlive (and before hobi's birthday live). i'm not on tiktok but i believe you when you say that jihope videos are flooded with comments jokingly linking jimin to namjoon's hickey and calling him crossfit. knowing armys they've probably run the joke into the ground by now; but sometimes a joke is just a joke and it can get old and annoying and unfunny quickly but it's still just a joke. as in, not harmful. *and* this is one of those cases where i think it could have been any member – were it any other member who'd given hobi a kiss on the neck *right after* a fandom-wide frenzy about namjoon's hickey blunder then those jokes would have happened regardless. you really underestimate the amount of ot7-are-all-in-a-gay-polycule armys there are lol. i am in fact going to go out on a limb and make the prediction now that next time we see a member's face in close proximity to another member's neck there will be a viral tweet kekeing about crossfit all over again. it will be funny for approximately five minutes and then it will get old but it won't be "problematic".

i mean, sure! i don't know the guy nor do i know his friends, within and outside bts. i'm sure all his friendships look different. but what i was arguing was: a) jimin IS a really affectionate person who sometimes likes to engage in playful flirtatiousness and *physical* affection with his close friends; antis calling him names because of it doesn't deny this basic fact, b) it is actually fine and fun to make good-natured jokes about it as fans, c) the traits i described in point a and the jokes i've mentioned in point b do *not* in any way imply promiscuity, which is what a lot of jimin fans are concerned about when it comes to protecting his image. again, that is anti talk that has no basis in reality. (not that there's anything wrong with being promiscuous but that's a whole nother conversation.) i don't know and to be frank i don't care if he does actually kiss or bite his friends platonically or not at all or maybe a select few and in that case which ones. but you also don't need all that info to make a jokey joke!

this is for both anons:

i am well aware that taekookers & other antis have been spreading an offensive, 2d caricature image of him, & have been pretty much undeterred in doing so for years. i just fundamentally disagree with the notion that we should extend blame by association to fans who are just being fans and making harmless jokes. (keyword: harmless — there is a lot of racist and orientalist “humour” in the fandom and this isn’t about that.) taekookers made up an entire revolting scenario out of thin air just by looking at a picture of jimin standing next to bang pd; they are crazy and vile and will continue to be crazy and vile regardless of what the fandom’s inside joke of the day is.

i think jimin fans (whether solos or biases, and in this specific case jikookers too) can be hyper-vigilant & paranoid when it comes to this stuff sometimes, and while i understand the history, & sometimes feel this impulse myself, ultimately it just ends up escalating conflict for no reason. i think being in a "bubble" (be that pjms or jikookers, or what have you) can sometimes give you a very skewed idea of what the fandom actually looks like, because even the most minuscule, insignificant thing gets magnified tenfold and then tenfold again. (twitter is built around this, btw. fabricated outrage creates engagement.) i think if you peek out of the echo chamber you'll find that most ot7 armys have no secret anti-jimin agenda. he's actually really well-liked! who would have thought.

ending this with a quote from the original discussion which perfectly sums up my thoughts:

“I'm just saying that he does [flirt] (in a platonic way, if that makes sense?) and that it's okay. We don't need to erase his personality traits and truths in order to denounce problematic perceptions. If you think stating him being a flirty person = encouraging the view that Jimin is BTS' boy toy, then that's not my problem or anyone else's.”

lol. i don't think he's straight, no, but i also don't think it's nearly as clear-cut as most people seem to believe. this is not @ you anon, but i see so many who are convinced that he and other members of bts are in a glass closet (together or separately): believe me when i say that there are a good few korean celebrities who are in glass closets and none of them are in bts.

anyway! jimin. i don't think he's straight.

(& since i am answering this as a corollary to this particular post, i thought i'd add a reminder that queer friendships look different than straight friendships a lot of the time. and that includes how affection is expressed. just something else to consider.)

Gang? What Gang?- Taekook fluff

“You will not believe what happened to me,” Taehyung exclaimed loudly as he barreled into the kitchen. He was carrying shopping bags on both his arms. It was a known fact that Taehyung just did not possess the patience to make two trips, especially after work.

“Please don’t tell me you got arrested or ate something someone gave you or brought home another cat,” Jungkook replied in a tone that suggested there were instances where these kinds of things did in fact happen.

“No, no. It wasn’t anything like that this time. I made new friends.” Taehyung continued in his excited way of speaking. He placed the grocery bags on the floor near the fridge and started unloading them into the fridge and the cabinets.

“That’s good I guess, where exactly did you make these friend babe?” Jungkook asked, he was cutting onions and they were making his eyes sting. He couldn’t see clearly.

“Oh at the supermarket after I finished shopping and came out...” Taehyung started to tell his story but was cut off by a loud cry from Jungkook.

“Shit,” Jungkook called out as he had managed to cut his finger by mistake.

“Tae, go and get me a Band-Aid please,” Jungkook said and all talk about Taehyung’s new friends was forgotten.

Taehyung brought the bandages to Jungkook who was washing his hand under the sink. Jungkook wiped it with Dettol and cleaned it before he placed the bandage over it.

“You really do need to be more careful love,” Taehyung said, kissing Jungkook’s forehead. Jungkook was a little shorter than he was and it proved to be the perfect height for Taehyung. “Sit, I’ll cut.”

Jungkook gladly accepted and jumped onto the counter, Taehyung moved the cutting board closer to where Jungkook was sitting so he could continue to talk to him while he cut the onions.

“How was your day?” Taehyung asked.

“Okay, this one kid in my class is annoying me so much. I mean you signed up for this class why are you disrupting it? Like I would understand if it was one of those forced to take classes in school but you are literally signing up to come and learn how to dance.” Jungkook said exasperatedly.

“Was it the kid with the Harry Potter glasses and the always bandaged hand?” Taehyung asked - he knew all the kids who would go to Jungkook for classes and Jungkook knew all the kids in Taehyungs senior literature class.

“No, that’s the kid I like. He’s such a sweet little thing, he’s so timid and scared he’s going to mess up but dancing runs through his veins. There’s not a step he can’t master and he has such grace when he moves.” Jungkook stopped to sigh. “I enjoy watching him dance.”

“You talk about the kid like he’s some kind of prodigy Kookie,” Taehyung said laughing.

“He might as well be, I love him.”

“Aww, what have I been replaced?” Taehyung asked placing his free hand on his chest, feigning hurt.

“Ya I think so, the kid is cuter,” Jungkook replied smirking.

“But he can’t fuck you like I can,” Taehyung said back to him with the same level of smugness.

“Yah Kim Taehyung he’s a kid,” Jungkook yelled and whacked Taehyung on the shoulder. Taehyung just laughed at him and continued to cut.

“Anyway so about the annoying kid, he was literally just throwing things when I got to class and most of the other kids were super annoyed cause like some of them were getting hit with the stuff and when I told him to stop he threw a shoe at me. Can you believe that he threw a fucking shoe at me? So I told him to wait outside and I called his parents. I hope that kid gets in trouble.” Jungkook said crossing his arms and pouting.

“Kookie, he’s a kid don’t be rude,” Taehyung said pointing the knife at Jungkook.

Jungkook put his hands up in surrender not taking his eyes off of the knife, “Sorry mom. I’ll try to be nicer.”

Taehyung finished chopping up the vegetable and he threw them into the pan that was sizzling on the stove. Jungkook got off of the counter claiming that his finger was okay and that he could cook. Jungkook worked on the sauce as Taehyung put the pasta to boil and fried the vegetables and meat together. Once the pasta was cooked and the food was finally ready Jungkook transferred the food into serving dishes and Taehyung took the cutlery and went out to set the table.

“Okay Tae, put on the second season of Shokugeki No Soma. We haven’t even started to watch it yet.” Jungkook said once he had placed the food on the dining table. He served for both himself and Taehyung while Taehyung put on the anime they were currently watching. Jungkook took both plates over to the carpet in front of the TV and sat down to eat. Taehyung joined him once the first episode started to play.

“This tastes so nice, I’m getting a foodgasm.” Taehyung moaned loudly which caused Jungkook to laugh and Jungkook laughing means Taehyung laughing and so they were both laughing like there was no tomorrow.

The boys finished their dinner and resigned to the bedroom. Taehyung had papers to correct and Jungkook had tests to study for, there was a two-year difference between the boys and Jungkook was in his last year of college.

“Tae what’s inflation? Like I know what it is but that’s just a general idea and this textbook is highly useless.” Jungkook asked, confusion getting the best of him.

“It’s what happens when the prices for multiple commodities of an economy increases and so to meet the rise in price the people will need to increase their purchasing power as well,” Taehyung answered without lifting his head from the literature papers he was correcting.

Taehyung had studied business and economics first until he decided that English was more his area and so he ditched it and joined the English courses.

It was past eleven when Taehyung was finally done, he got off the chair and stretched. He looked around and realized that Jungkook wasn’t in the room. He figured that Jungkook must have gone into the dining room to study. He walked out and saw Jungkook scribbling away in his notebook, three textbooks open in front of him.

“Kookie time for bed, c’mon” Taehyung said from behind him and reached forward to close the books.

“Wait hyung, I need to finish this chapter,” Jungkook said stopping Taehyung’s hand.

“Tomorrow morning if you want, you need to sleep.” Taehyung refused to listen and he closed the books but not before he marked the pages where Jungkook was. Jungkook sighed but stood up nonetheless, he was looking at Taehyung strangely and out of nowhere he reached forward and hugged Taehyung. Jungkook wrapped his hands around his waist and pressed his face into Taehyung’s neck, just under his chin. When he pulled back he saw a confused look on Taehyung’s face.

“I love you,” Jungkook said and Taehyung just continued to stare at him. “I thought I’d tell you, I don’t tell you enough.” After saying that Jungkook whispered goodnight and walked to his room. Taehyung was left smiling like an idiot in the dining room. Eventually, he also retired to his own room.

New message from Unknown, 5:45pm 17 th November

“Tae tae, hey.”

“Who is this?”

“Its Jimin, u know v met at the grocery store.”

“Oh right, I gave you lift. So sorry I forgot to save your number”

“It’s a’ight mate, listen I wntd to ask if u could give me n ma frnds a lift?”

“Sure man, where are you guys?”

“Thnx, ur a lifesvr. Ill send u location.”

“Cool okay, I’ll see you guys soon.”

Taehyung switched his phone off and went back to the book he was reading, Jungkook was at school and he had the day off so Taehyung committed himself to finishing his book. His phone buzzed again, he figured it must have been Jimin texting him the location and indeed it was.

“Here’s the loc bro, come soon. Thnx again.”

Taehyung checked the time and realized that he could pick up Jungkook now as well. Jungkook didn’t like it when Taehyung drove to pick him up because Taehyung would have to drive an extra half hour but the location Jimin had sent him was on the path of Jungkook’s college. Taehyung grabbed his keys and coat from the room and walked out of the house, locking the door behind him.

“Jungkookie, I’m outside where are you?” Taehyung asked into the phone.

“You’re here? What? Why?” Jungkook asked - Taehyung imagined Jungkook whipping his head around to look for him.

“Near the front, I had to pick something up and your college was on the way so come on.”

“Okay okay, I’m walking right now.”

Jungkook saw the car soon enough and he waved, he secretly loved it when Taehyung picked him up. He got in and was greeted with a kiss on the cheek.

“Hey babe, we’re not going home right now okay. A few friends needed a lift so we’ll just drop them off and then we’ll go.”

“Ya that’s okay but listen there’s this dude in my class…” and Jungkook started ranting to Taehyung, talking a mile a minute.

Taehyung half focused on Jungkook’s story and half on the road. He had crashed his car enough times. Taehyung pulled up near a police station. Jungkook cocked his eyebrow and turned his head towards Taehyung in confusion.

“Why are we at the police station?”

“To pick up my friends, Jimin told me they were near the station. They’re probably in that café. Wait I’ll call.” Taehyung said, he took out his phone and pulled up Jimin’s contact. The phone rang for a while until someone picked up and a loud, rude voice spoke into it.

“Who are you? What do you want?”

Taehyung was taken aback for a second and was about to reply with the same tone when he heard arguing on the other side.

“Hyung, give me my phone. I told you not to pick up my calls.” The voice zeroed in on Taehyung who was waiting, confused on the line. “Hey, sorry, Yoongi hyung’s in a bad mood. Who’s this?”

“It’s Taehyung, I’m outside.”

“Oh Tae, okay cool. We’ll be right out.”

“Okay see you.”

Jimin hung up and Taehyung waited. Jungkook was watching the police station, still uncertain of these friends Taehyung had made and lo and behold Jimin followed by two other boys walked out of the station smug smiles plastered onto their faces. Jungkook didn’t know that this was Taehyung’s friend though and so was surprised that these boys were heading straight for them and waving.

“Tae let’s go, those guys are walking straight towards. I don’t care why they were in there, we need to leave now.” Jungkook stopped and realized that Taehyung was in fact not listening, “Kim Taehyung are you listening to me?”

Jimin saw Taehyung and waved but Taehyung was in too much shock to wave back. He couldn’t believe the boy he had befriended was walking out of a police station smiling like he won the lottery.

Jimin and the other two entered the backseat. Jimin pulled himself up front and greeted Taehyung like they were old friends.

“What’s up brother, these are my friends. Resting bitch face hyung and horse face hyung.” Taehyung laughed a little but Jungkook still had his jaw on the floor as he had just witnessed three boys walk out of a police station and straight into their car.

“I will actually stab you next time, my name’s Yoongi. Don’t listen to this asshole.” Yoongi said after grabbing Jimin’s hair and pulling him back.

“You wanna be behind bars again go ahead,” Jimin said, rubbing his head.

“Wouldn’t be the first time, unlike you pussies.” Yoongi retaliated.

“Hyung it’s not cool that you were in the cell, it’s cool that I got us out,” Jimin said smirking.

Yoongi brought his hand up to hit Jimin but Hoseok grabbed it. He had noticed the shock, surprise and slight fear on Jungkook and Taehyung’s face.

“Hi, I’m Hoseok. Please excuse them and the oh so loving nickname Jiminie has for me. You’re Taehyung right, Jimin told me about you.” He said, smiling at Taehyung. He looked over at Jungkook and knitted his eyebrows in confusion. “You are?”

“Jungkook, Taehyung’s boyfriend,” Jungkook said, he was in a daze.

“Oh, well nice to meet you Jungkook.”

The banter continued and Taehyung fell into it somehow. Jungkook stayed silent, though, he was trying to process all the strange information his brain was receiving.

Taehyung pulled up at a garage and the three boys got out. Yoongi and Hoseok waved their goodbyes and went inside the garage door. Jimin stayed behind to thank Taehyung and apologize to Jungkook; Jimin had noticed Jungkook’s discomfort.

“Okay then see you later brother,” Jimin said and held up his hand, his middle finger and pointer finger was intertwined while his thumb held down his ring finger and his pinky stood upright. Taehyung returned the sign effortlessly and said his goodbyes as well. It was only while they were driving back did Jungkook realize what the sign was.

“Taehyung can you show me that thing you did with your hand right now.” Taehyung showed him and Jungkook would have slapped him if he weren’t driving.

“You complete nut, that’s a gang sign. You fucking went and made friends with gang members. Good going idiot.”

“A gang sign? No way, they’re not in a gang. They’re just cool people.” Taehyung replied; Jimin wasn’t in a gang.
