I feel like. Part of the reason we're seeing hot takes like "video games like Stardew Valley are bourgeoisie and you should feel bad for playing them" and "if any actor in a TV show even hints at supporting any part of Israel then we need to boycott that entire show" and stuff like that is.
Online activism does virtually nothing. It does virtually nothing, guys. You can reblog and repost stuff all day and it does nothing. And so there's this desperate need in people's minds to Do Something, but social media platforms have so thoroughly trapped us into the idea that This Is How You Connect With People, that we think blogging = activism.
But nothing we've reblogged thus far has made a significant difference in the world. So we keep reblogging, desperately, convinced that if we root out the real evil in our media consumption or if we pare down our beliefs to the One True Ideal and force everyone around us to share that ideal, then finally Something Will Change For The Better.
Log off. Go give blood; there's a critical shortage right now. Help someone in your community; it might not fix wars that are thousands of miles away but it'll help that person. Call or email your local representative about issues that matter to you. Fucking vote. Do something in the not-online space. It'll matter more than 100 posts in a row about Important Things.

"If more people...valued home above gold, this world would be a merrier place."
Quote by: Thorin Oakenshield, The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies (2014)

----
My love for this dwarf prince has grown more after revisiting this trilogy yet again...and recently also after finding myself reading fan fics of him (sorry not sorry) but his smile, I can't...breathe 😭
Also...
It's so sad that this quote rings true in our world today, if only...

Isn't it ironic?
There are people who say:
The time has come.
Artificial intelligence is smarter than humans.
And I ask myself:
Which Humans?

I admit I was fool enough to be fed this
"When single women hit a certain age, they will be desperate to find a husband/boyfriend." BULLSHIT.
My fellow men, it's a big fucking LIE and it's made up by men with a patriarchal sight. It's an immature BOY's consolation.
The world is a different place now, and believe me it doesn't work like this👆🏻(anymore, at least) Even unemployed women in their late 30's and even 40's are not dying for marriage. They still have standards and money is not even one of them. (We LOVE to think the opposite but, sorry...) They want to see some character and more importantly, "maturity" in you. I was so immature and stupid. Now I am paying for it.
Listen to women and try to understand them. Learn women from women, not from losers in your neighborhoods.
The future is female!

Unfamiliar Sanctuary
It was a first For just this instance This busy street Of preoccupied minds To each his own, A place with no courtesy, Of people full of ego and pride, Clashing minds, raging madness, A jungle of differing opinion, This usually smothering hellhole, For just this instance, Became an unfamiliar sanctuary, Of considerate human beings. A paradise for lost souls, A comfort for this doe and fawn, The only beam of light In this world of darkness and despair.

Let me put it in perspective for you. If you were to ask an average man and an average woman with their idealized lives would look like my question would be like a Venn diagram where is the overlap? There isn't enough overlap in today's society

Hail Astrid, first to the sacrifice. I know the big Goat was destroyed by birds but just in case, we did our ritual burning of the calendar from the year before and then burned one of the goats we purchased from IKEA.
Many thanks to @vocativecase for buying the goats and mailing them to me, and also naming them. Astrid burned incredibly fast, and Helga shall carry us through 2024.

Israel has arrested Ahed Tamimi, a human rights activist. Because she defended Palestine.
They vandalized her house and took her phone
Tumblr media
Minister of National Security of Israel "Itamar Ben-Gvir" publishes a photo of the moment Ahed Tamimi was arrested, gloating :
"Kudos to the IDF forces who arrested tonight the terrorist and "human rights activist" Ehad Tamimi Manvi Saleh who was previously convicted of attacking IDF soldiers and since the outbreak of the war has expressed sympathy and support for the Nazi human beings on social media. Zero tolerance with terrorists and supporters of terrorism! Just like that!"
Tumblr media
This thing claims she is a terrorist because she stood for Palestine.
He named all the civilian victims and innocent children that he and the Zionist entity killed by "Nazi human beings" and "terrorist"
Do you really mean that the millions of people around the world who stand against this massacre… against this genocide are Nazi human being? who do you think you are moron??
Has the blood of children and the human race become this cheap?
What a filth you are!! you and your supporters !!
Free Palestine !

Trying to write a straight academic thing, but it is almost impossible now, with the world the way it is. How can you go on faking?
How can you not be Apocalyptic (and thus inadmissible)?
I was just going to talk a bit about things like copyrights (the theme of the event), from the point of view of actually creating art, and how different that is. Art comes from art. And the impossibility of authorship, of property, when creating (and experiencing) art, if you see it (the experience of art, and, thus, art itself) as ego-destroying. “You” disappear. How can something be yours, if there is no you? And copyright is just an economic consideration in one specific type of economy (ours, capitalism, etc.). It has nothing to do with the creative process (with making art).
But once you start to unpack this (in the context of the world today - economics, ecology, politics, etc.) to people who have never thought in these terms (but only in the most superficial, status quo, don’t rock the boat, what boat?! - terms) it becomes, let’s say, unwieldy. I don’t really think I can talk to people like this anymore. The breach is to wide.
