(Hetalia Main 8 x Reader) How they talk about you!

(Gender Neutral) Headcanons ~

Most people around Alfred would probably not realize you two are romantically involved. The way he talks about you is less like a partner and more like a best friend.

But that said, everyone would know who you are. It’s immediately obvious how close your relationship is. He seems to know everything about you.

He won’t bring you up constantly, but your presence is around him in some way.

“Who are you texting during the meeting?!” “Oh, Y/N! Right now they’re-”

“Who are you inviting?” “Y/N! I really think they’d have fun coming along-”

“Are you free tonight?” “Mm, sorry dude. I’m with Y/N tonight, just like last night, and the night before we-”

But if anyone asks, he loves talking about you. You make everything more fun, so even thinking about you makes him feel so much better!

He doesn’t bring you up much, but when he does it’s so obvious how much he loves you. Always looking in the distance longingly…

Doesn’t share a lot of personal details, probably doesn’t even mention your name. He always calls you nicknames or just “my lover.”

Arthur prefers to keep you his little secret.

“Ah, I have to go. I have an engagement with… someone special.”

So it's usually very stilted and formal, but not because of a lack of affection. He thinks that PDA and gushing about romance in public is tactless, so he refrains.

You’re like royalty to him so he always makes sure to make his respect more apparent than anything. No one is more special to him than you <3

The second most normal out of any of them. Although he always refers to you very romantically, that isn’t very out of line for how he normally is.

It seems as if he sees you as perfect, above others in every way. He always praises you and everything you do, to an absolutely absurd degree.

Always has very specific things he calls you in front of others.

“Ah, this reminds me of my S/O. They are like poetry in motion…”

“Every day I am inspired by Y/N, even the most impressive works of art are nothing compared to them.”

“My eternal love, they are calling to me… I must go!” “Just say you wanna get outta here!”

He can’t help but gush about how perfect you are. He would say you are nothing less than soulmates.

Yao is a very traditional man. From the start of your relationship, he’s always referred to you as if you were married.

Sometimes he’ll refer to you like those old men who hate their wives, but only because he doesn’t realize the full implications.

“”Aiyaa! Have to go tend to the ball and chain, see you later!”

Except when he says that, he means it affectionately. By “tending to the old ball and chain” he means laying his head in your lap for two hours and telling you about how stupid his friends are.

He’d love nothing more than to just talk to you and you alone, he doesn’t care what anyone else thinks of you two.

Ivan CANNOT stop talking about you! Seriously, everyone is very annoyed by it. But he just can’t hold himself back, he needs everyone to know about how much he loves you.

Anytime anyone brings up something that reminds him of you, he has to go on a whole tangent. God forbid someone brings up an interest of yours, then it goes on forever.

They probably won’t even know your name because he just always uses some adorable pet name for you (:

When he misses you, it’s even worse. Anything just immediately results in,

“My darling used to call me that…” “Because it’s your name!”

If he could, he would bring you everywhere with him. So, he’ll do so in his own way (: (telling everyone who breathes in his direction about you)

Everyone is immediately aware of your existence. He LOVES bringing you up at every opportunity. All his friends need to know about his lovely S/O right now!!!

Definitely tries to show you off.

“You know whose really attractive? My S/O! Look, see!!!”

“I just thought of something funny, one time Y/N did that! But like, they were super hot!”

“Cuore mio, everyone should see how wonderful you are. Don’t be embarrassed!”

When he gets drunk, he can’t help but talk anyone’s ear off about you. About how much you mean to him, about how proud he is of you, a lot of other stuff that seems way too sentimental for an easy-going guy like him.

Often ends up bursting into rooms just to bring news of you. He gets so emotional it can become unbearable for those around him.

He can’t imagine his life without you, and everything is just a reminder of that fact. Feliciano loves you more than anything!

Ludwig wouldn’t not talk about you… but he wouldn’t go out of his way to do so. Not because he’s embarrassed of you, but because he’s embarrassed of how much he’s in love with you!

You make him so soft… and the thoughts of you are constantly distracting him! His darling (you) lives in his head rent-free, damn you!

“Oi Germany, is that a person on your lock-screen?” “N-No! Well… it’s my S/O… don’t make it into a situation!”

He thinks very highly of you, and trusts your judgment completely. Talking to you helps him think out his problems. That fact is so obvious that a lot of times, his friends will call you up for him when he’s panicking.

Not a fan of pet names, and can seem cold about your relationship in public. But don’t let that fool you, he doesn’t want to go a day without you!

Very casual about you. You’re his partner, you matter a lot to him, and he’s not embarrassed about it.

But he does use his experiences with you to help him relate to others, so you get brought up quite a lot with his friends. When he’s having trouble socially, he tries to remember everything you’ve ever told him and repeat it.

“My S/O had something similar happen to them. May I consult them on this?”

“This reminds me of something that Y/N said to me last week. Shouldn’t we just put the past behind us? They said it’s no good to dwell on these things.”

“Hm… maybe we should just go home and rest before making a decision. Besides, I want to talk to Y/N about this.” “Are you sure you don’t just miss them?” “That is a possibility.”

He acts as if you two are married, but just because you have become so important to him so quickly. You make his life so much better and easier, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Are you named after anyone? Not my first name, which I just chose because I liked it, but one of my middle names is Bowie (as in David Bowie).

When was the last time you cried? A couple of weeks ago, when I was feeling completely overwhelmed by the state of trans rights globally and especially in the UK (where I live) and the ongoing tragedies happening as a result. (Sidenote: it's weird to me how little I've cried since starting T, I used to cry multiple times a week and now it's every few months)

Do you have kids? No.

What sports do you play/have you played? I swam for about 6-8 years as a kid but always kinda hated it, and eventually quit when the dysphoria became too much. I did football and badminton on and off too, but was never really good at anything (asthma & possible dyspraxia & hypermobility etc.). Now I'm trying to run and work out mostly just to stay healthy. I'd like to get back into swimming but can't really afford to go to a pool regularly and I'm scared to go by myself. I also go to a lgbtq+ football club weekly when I'm in my hometown (my friend started an under-18s one which I used to do too and it was pretty much my only positive experience of sports).

Do you use sarcasm? Rarely, and only with close friends where we mutually joke like that with each other.

What's the first thing you notice about people? I actually don't know. I think most of the time I'm too caught up in the anxiety of meeting someone new that I'm more focussed on myself.

What's your eye colour? Bluey grey.

Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings. I'll watch some scary movies but sometimes they just make me too anxious to enjoy them.

Any talents? I can read pretty quickly with good comprehension (I like to take my time when reading for fun, but as an english lit student who always has a fuck ton of essays and shit to read, it's handy), I can bake really good gingerbread, and I'm weirdly good at immitating people's walks (the same way some people can do voice impressions).

Where were you born? A small city in south west england (not saying more than that for safety/privacy).

What are your hobbies? I read (a lot); I write fiction, poetry, book reviews & TV show reviews (see pinned post on where to find some of these); I embroider and sew; I enjoy baking and cooking but don't do it much atm because I don't like my flatmates so I spend as little time as possible in our kitchen where I might see them; I like going for walks but it can be difficult to get out into nature without a car (ironically) and sometimes I just solve number puzzles/do maths for fun.

Do you have any pets? Yes, this idiot (affectionate). Technically she lives with my parents, but still. Her name's Pepper and she's a generic black cat (it's hard to work out breeds of cats and she's an adopted former stray so there's no breeding history or whatever).

How tall are you? 1.72m

Favourite subject in school? It alternated between english literature and maths.

Dream job? Author/forest wizard/please don't make me enter the workforce (I'm a uni student atm)/I don't know what I want to do with my life.

Oh gosh, only three??

Maybe it's cheesy but I love the proposal scene. There's so many layers to it: the fact it was episode 3x18 and TK woke Carlos up at 3:18 in the morning, just after Carlos told TK he can wake him up at 3 a.m. if he needs anything??? I love the red string of fate, I love synchronicity I love soulmates. I also love the fact TK holds Carlos' hands the way he did when he told him they make a pretty good team. I say it all the time, but they really do hold one another like that's the reason God gave them two hands <3 Also the way TK rocks back and forth with excitement? The same way he flipped the ring he was going to propose to Alex with but because of anxiety? If I'm going to love anything it's a reference let me tell you that much!

I have gone out of my way to show people the Lou story line because to this day it might actually be my favorite. It's so miniscule, in a way, in the grand scheme of things but nothing beats TK walking in, posed like this: 🧍‍♂️and asking Carlos if they were robbed. As if the COP would just be sitting in a mess of a living room if they had 😭

Saving Grace is tied with Push as my favorite episode and I'll occasionally think of Grace telling Judd, "You're so tall." and Judd replying with, "You're so beautiful." and feel the need to scream because I LOVE them so much. I have a spin-off I want to write based off a Tarlos AU that's in the work and I can't wait to write them falling in love because I love falling in love with their love.

Media consumption seems like the weirdest thing to call a hobby, but truly, that's what it is!

I love watching films that I don't know I'm about to love (Humboldt County, my beloved) , discovering new television shows that rewire my brain (looking at you AMC's Interview with the Vampire), listening to music that feels like sunshine (Cannock Chase by Labi Siffre, you will always be famous) or reading a book that makes me want to bite a brick (A Density of Souls by Christopher Rice ruined my life (affectionately)

If I'm not doing any of that, and this is going to sound so corny, but I write! I've been working on a novella for a little while as I'm trying to prepare something for grad school (that isn't gay firefighter fanfiction lol) and I was working on a book of poetry before realizing that I'm a much stronger narrative fiction writer than I am a poet (Ada Limón if I could just have a sprinkling of your voice please ma'am)

what's your favorite song/album right now?

Album wise it has to be Cowboy Carter. I've been saying it since forever, but Beyoncé truly is on a very different level than any other pop artist we have right now (and I like a lot of them! I loved eternal sunshine and I can not WAIT until Dua drops her third album in May)

If anyone is the music industry right now it is her because she is constantly reinventing herself as well and influencing the industry as whole. Did you know that she's the reason music comes out on Fridays now? Her impact !!

Anyways, one of my favorite genres of music is Classic Country; so think 1950s, 1960s Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Skeeter Davis, Lee Hazlewood, Glen Campbell; that whole bunch.

So, I was so excited to see what Beyoncé was going to cook up because that is a woman who makes sure each and every thing she makes is perfection and my god, it got as close as any of her work has gotten so far.

It also features an interpolation of Good Vibratations by The Beach Boys, who's one of my favorite artists so it feels like this album was made specifically with me in mind. Here's hoping Act III is rock because I need to hear her with Jack White again.

initial thoughts on DCAS episode 6

THIS EPISODE WAS SO GOOD!!! the fact that it was a musical episode is totally the cherry on top; i love it when series come with their own music (cough cough me @ project sekai). but overall it was also really funny, and had some great character moments, too.

i'll save my thoughts on strategy and where the season might be headed for my next power ranking post (whenever that is :,( ), but were some of my other thoughts/highlights.

specifically the phrase "fuck my life" and Yul saying it made me cackle. seems like Emily ISN'T Yul's manager, but she might still kinda take on that role this season? we'll see. the lack of phones is really having an effect on the plot.

they hate her so fucking bad

okay, i guess i forgot to consider this angle when i was saying it would've made more sense for them to vote out Fiore. however, having started with 18 participants, the merge will probably happen at, what, 10 people? (modern Survivor describes the merge as "at least 11," but obviously this isn't survivor.) sure, Hunter is a bit of a challenge beast, but he can't protect all three of them every episode. if this trio is only 3/10 of the votes, you could literally split the votes on Ally and Tess in a 3-3-4 if you can get everyone else to unite against them. you know what you should be worried about? THE VILLAINS ALLIANCE HAVING 6/"10" VOTES AT THE MERGE!!! sigh. why am i relying on Jake to be smart (/j)

i'm more impressed that there was hot water in the first place. this thing is in the middle of a field, no?

i'm finally starting to see how Yul can be a hilarious "love to hate him" kind of villain. he had some of the best lines this episode hands down.

there was absolutely no reason to put the apple on the stick other than to fit in. love this for her.

idk if this is a winner's cut moment or not. glad that the money would go towards schools and NOT the police force, though.

man, now i want to go back and check the other episodes to see if Tess has had the "Cyan Team narrator" role the whole time. in Survivor, that's indicative of a deep run. ...i really need to stop applying Survivor logic to everything.

i appreciate the s1 callback, but Trevor doing this dance move gives me so much second hand embarrassment that i keep inadvertently closing my eyes every time i have to "see" it again. anyways, given how most of the episode songs had lyrics related to the Team's emotional state, it's interesting to see that Trevor is singing a romance song. trevek become canon pt 2?

this was an interesting parallel. with Kristal laughing at Derek's joke, it seems like they were trying to show how she's growing closer to Derek, in a way which Trevor might fear is romantic. were there supposed to be romantic undertones to Alec being the only one to laugh at Connor's joke? and, if there were, was that just a fun nod to the aleconnor shippers, or will it actually be canon/relevant to later in the season?

NOT a surprise. i need to see the "i want you died" poetry he wrote about Fiore after last season.

mood but also damn is Ellie really leaning into the villain thing this season. this doesn't even help her win the season, she JUST wants to see him suffer.

i forgot that the s1 contestants didn't know that Nina was her own separate being yet

they were NOT lying, Aiden's VA is a great singer! Tom's backing vocals and Ellie and Gabby's harmonies(?) were also really nice too, though. this was probably my favorite song of the episode just bc i think Cyan had the strongest singers. all of the rocking, shoulder-moving dances are also impossible not to imitate.

well, there's the thumbnail. their choice of thumbnail made me laugh bc i remember, back when i was watching s1, seeing all the thumbnails of Aiden kissing both James and Hunter and thinking that Aiden was going to be some sort of troublemaking flirty antagonistic character only to be blindsided by his actual characterization. i'm sure the s1 watching me would have only added this to her arsenal of evidence, although hilariously idk if i would have been able to tell the other character was Tom at the time. anyways, i was pretty certain from the start that this must be part of the performance. although, while i'm happy that Aiden seems to think that James will be okay with the performance, i wish we could have cut to James somehow just to confirm that that was true. i don't want the next time we see James, whether in the finale or some other time, to show that he was actually really jealous and upset at Aiden for kissing another man while in a committed relationship. also gabbielle(?) super cute in the bg :D

bold of you to say this to Ashley, who has been in a two year relationship with the guy who went home in episode 2.

i also really liked this song :D i understand why they made Jake and Ally the main singers, because they best encompassed what the theme of the song was about, but i think i actually liked Ashley's vocals the best. i wish she'd gotten to sing more. also for a moment i thought Marcus had a trans flag on his hat. it's still close enough. trans Marcus canon.

this was probably my least favorite performance of the episode, although idk how much of that was just how much i hate Alec's outfit. glassesless Alec scares me so bad... no hate to the VAs, obviously, i think they have nice voices! it's actually the way that they didn't sound like they had confidence in their singing abilities that made the performance feel a little shakier to me. i do think that this song had the best lyrics in terms of encapsulating each member of their team, though. i really like how Yul and Riya are the ones to sing "i'm going to chase it" as a duo, because they're the ones chasing fame and the limelight, and then Grett sings that she can't ignore it, because eventually she's going to have to realize that her entire relationship with Yul was a result of him clout chasing. Connor only singing "live in the moment until i die" is also very fitting given his placement... in both seasons. L.

really surprised that Riya (or anyone else) didn't even mention Yul's foot injury as part of this equation. Riya just said that she didn't want to lose any more challenges, and Yul's bad foot could totally lead to a loss. maybe i'm just overestimating the extent to which that foot injury will stick around, though.

season 2 characters are REALLY suffering out here.

love to see Alec and Fiore's kinda sorta dual redemptions. i have high hopes for them.

and those were my initial thoughts, which got way longer than i expected. thanks if you wound up reading towards all the way down here. i have no idea who the leakers are, obviously, but i really hope that they stop acting up soon so that the series can continue. i would hate to have the artists have to take a pay hit and/or stop making the series just because of some people's impatience and delusions of power, or have the honest patrons lose out on being able to watch the episodes early to protect from others' immaturity. see ya!

Ship It

1. What made you ship it?

I actually didn't particularly care for Bloodweave until I read First Light by Linnetagin, which is a largely Gale-focussed multi-chapter piece that is an exploration of his emotional/mental state and difficulties with his trauma in Act 2 while running alongside Bloodweave. With other Astarion ships, I've struggled to find pieces focussed on the other partner's perspective, issues, trauma, etc. so it was really refreshing to find something so Gale-centric. It definitely warmed me towards it (though I do wish there was more Gale content which was not Astarion-ship focussed in general)

Also, while many Bloodweave fans lean towards the 'toxic old man yaoi' elements and the 'make him worse' possibilities where they hate each other but are doing favours for each other and/or fucking - which I fully respect - that never quite clicked in place for me until I read First Light, where they were good to each other first. Part of my initial problem with this ship was that I couldn't really 'see it' - Gale doesn't particularly warm to Astarion in game, his blood tastes of bile to Astarion, and I couldn't really imagine what the banter would entail. Like, it's all well and good that Gale/Astarion might encourage each others' worst tendencies - but why do they actually like each other? How do they go from worsties to lovers?

However, I feel like First Light unpicks how these prickly, erudite companions might shift from constantly needling each other into playful banter that becomes affectionate. It made me see how they could also be tender to each other. And personally speaking? I think 'make him worse' and 'tragic romance' works best when you can see a way out - when, in an alternate universe, things might not have been so terrible. Seeing that helped me then be able to appreciate and enjoy darker takes on the dynamic.

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

Playful, erudite banter including multiple disagreements over poetry and fashion

Astarion being a temperamental, stand-off-ish, cat-like person that Gale knows exactly how to get from pouting to purring on his lap

(including delightful behaviours like Astarion sitting on Gale while he is reading. Astarion then pulls out his own book to read to add to the ridiculousness of this)

Astarion attempting to encourage Gale to be more chaotic/mischievous/worse and being surprised when Gale actually is more than capable of being such things

Astarion being somewhat thrown by how in Act 3 Gale does not seem to particularly care about morality as much any more now that Mystra is something he doesn't seem to need to appease and the crown is in the picture - and he dances between 'this is convenient' and 'this is troubling; i care about this person enough to be disquieted by it'

The hilarity of Astarion being Gale's trophy husband that lounges in a tower all day looking pretty

Astarion helps Gale dress up like a princess for his various wizard balls and events and enjoys watching his boyfriendhusband dazzle his academy peers and everyone else from the sidelines - as they should, he is very dashing and handsome especially with his help

The tragedy of spawn!Astarion and god!Gale as an ending and how that would end in a catastrophic divorce

Sexually speaking, I think it's an interesting dynamic - Astarion desires control + Gale wants to give everything, and I think it's interesting to imagine how those roles might shift as the two of them come to genuinely care for each other, e.g. Astarion might give Gale the reigns after a certain degree of trust, Gale will make pains to care for Astarion's actual wants/needs rather than projected sexual fantasies, and Astarion might also turn around and say 'you do not need to try this hard all the time you know, actually', in response to having his boundaries about not having sex respected. I also think they could have some very fun spicy sex once they get comfortable with each other and their needs.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Is 'it's overrated' an unpopular Bloodweave opinion? I like it well enough but I think I prefer other dynamics for both characters. I also think there's a level of extrapolation going on from a dynamic that could be true rather than a dynamic that is really baked into the text - if you look at their dialogue, they don't flirt as much as some of the other companions (compare the amount of flirty lines Astarion and Wyll have about each other), and they don't necessarily get on as well as some pairs of characters - for example: Gale & Lae'zel or Astarion & Karlach.

In the case of Gale, I feel like a lot of fan art and writing has Astarion attached, and I wish we had more without Astarion (though this complaint could be made about Wyll and probably half the party too, let's be honest with ourselves).

I think there's an element of 'pair the spares' going on here - if you pair Lae'zel/Shadowheart and Wyll/Karlach (two very popular ships for fairly obvious reasons), there's Astarion/Gale left. I think there's also an element of 'pair the two white guys regardless of chemistry' going on as well (and I say this as a fan! I like this ship! but a lot of it is based on ifs and buts compared to other dynamics).

I think all that said, I do still enjoy the pairing - there's enough there to go on that intrigues me

Vessel? Kisses? absolutely. Any type of kisses is his go-to. He ADORES them from his s/o.

Rosé also loves kisses, but prefers them on the cheeks, lips, or shoulders.

14. What's the most touching gift they've ever received?

Vessel’s is basically anything handmade. He loves that they took the time and effort into making something just for him.

Rosé’s was a dagger vessel gave her for their 2nd anniversary. She hides it in her dress.

19. What's a guilty pleasure of theirs?

Vessel reads a lot of romance novels and romantic poetry, but feels insecure about it. So he reads to himself mostly.

Rosé, as said before, plays the harmonic. And she’s DAMN good at it too!

1. Is your OC a hugger or do they not like that sort of affection? Do they intitiate a hug or get roped into them?

Rosé 110% loves giving hugs! she’s really good at them, she knows your boundaries and when and when not to. She tackle-hugs dice every day after they both come home from work.

(Dice isn’t an oc but whatever, idgaf lol) he usually likes it when his trusted loved ones hug him first, unless they’re feeling under-the-weather, THEN he gets all huggy.

2. Does your OC have any endearing qualities?

Rosé is just a nice person in general unless you do something awful. She’s fun to hang around and chat with, she loves gossip, and will give you dirt on latest actors-

3. How does your OC react to affectionate gestures?

Unless it’s like from a family member, trusted friend, or significant other, she loves it! She’s used to compliments and romantic gestures from fans, but if she doesn’t know you and you touch her, she panics a bit.

6. What calms they down most when they're anxious?

Surprisingly enough, evil is the one who gets anxious the most, sometimes stuff is too much, y’know? If it’s in public, he’ll just run off and hide till he calms down. If it’s at home, he just hides under the blanket covers in his room with his shark plush toy till he’s fine. If it’s around stickler, he’ll take evil to a quiet place till he’s fine again.

8. What Disney/musical song do you most associate with them?

That’s a difficult one! Hmm, nothing I can think of. But feel free to tell me ideas!

10. Your OC is surrounded by puppies/kittens/ducklings. What do they do?

With the boss around? Chase em. If he’s not? The little demons just pet them and say how cute they are.

Evil’s favorite animals are sharks. (His personal favorites are lemon sharks and salmon sharks) he just thinks they’re cool! He likes learning about them!

Vile’s favorite animals are bunnies. He thinks they’re super soft and likes holding them. They bring comforter him.(Hocus pocus is no exception. Vile fucking hates him-)

hmm well so far the big ones are alexandre dumas père, victor hugo, and jules verne!

i like dumas's plots, all the intrigue, the balls-to-the-wall shit he gets away with because he makes it so fun. also eugénie danglars is one of the characters of all time, so congrats to him for creating her. and he can be really, really funny. i know i've brought this specific example up so many times you must all be sick of it by now, but i found this bitingly ironic and yet incredibly affectionate passage about albert de morcerf's inability to impress women so endearing and hilarious that i memorized it and now just say it to myself as i'm walking down the street. that shit has stood the test of time, sir. good on ya.

i love victor hugo's earnestness about social issues and i often find his sentences very beautiful. the fact that he also wrote poetry really comes across in the cadence of his prose; he's very good at establishing/reinforcing the tone of a passage just by varying sentence length and clause placement. even the 760-word louis-philippe sentence in les mis is indicative of this: in the context of the rest of the book, such a long sentence with such an extreme degree of repetitive parallel structure (which bores you) against the backdrop of the cognitive load created by holding the subject of the sentence until the very end (thereby heightening syntactic tension and forcing you to pay attention) is a fascinating and canny device. the content of the sentence (which, again, there's a lot of content in this sentence. 760 words of it) almost communicates less than the structure of the sentence does! and in tandem they imply so much that he cannot say outright (and the fact that he has to imply them rather than say them outright tells us even more things). absurdly long and painfully boring, it's a very successful example (imo) of what george saunders calls a "non-normative event", an "excess" that hugo deftly "converts [...] to [a] virtue".

my favorite thing about jules verne's writing is it is just so much easier to read for me as a non-native speaker lol. but also, i love his imagination! he says stuff all the time where i'm like, "that doesn't sound right but i don't know enough about plate tectonics (or whatever) to dispute it" but it doesn't even matter because whatever it is he will take it to its farthest possible conclusion and he will have fun doing it. i also love this character archetype he has of the supercompetent assistant who is just totally unfazed by whatever semi-mad science shit his employer is getting up to. his love for scientific inquiry and the natural world (except sperm whales, he HATES those guys) comes across on every page and it's beautiful to see.

i think what they all have in common is just complete and total commitment to the bit. none of them agree on what the bit is - for dumas it's bonkers plot, for hugo it's social commentary, for verne it's listing every single type of marine life that exists in any body of saltwater anywhere on the planet - but they sure are committed to it. you gotta respect that.

Ramble/rant below (nothing bad but if you don’t want to deal with me having a crush for the first time in at least three years scroll past, also I have no idea how to do the cut thing so also potentially very long post with terrible grammar, cause I’m going on a ride here and also just suck at grammar)

Anyway…… how do deal with emotions

This fucker has made me write poetry FUCKING POETRY!!!!!!! Sgdhshdhsijagdhd (for reference I hate writing poetry and absolutely suck at it, no hate to people who like poetry, I just don’t personally like it that much, can be cool to read though) and now I am a sappy human bean who is very repressed and writes poetry apparently. I hate it so much. Not only that but before I even got to the poetry phase I wrote two letters to him! Like this fucker has been ruling my conscience for the passed like month and a half. I’m used to the like couple hours, or like at the very most couple of day vague “this persons nice and I like them” maybe crushes that turn out to just wanting to be friends kind of thing. Not “I short circuit every time they do anything vaguely nice to me and even considering asking them out because I really like them, but I’m also afraid of commitment and I also know they like someone else and I don’t want to put them in an awkward situation because honestly I just like seeing them happy and I don’t care how it happens/who it happens with” and now I have to deal with it, and I have absolutely no idea how to say any of that in a coherent way/without seeming slightly insane or like I’m trying to guilt trip him into a relationship, cause I don’t even know how/if I want a relationship. Also the letters either turned into me being kinda self deprecating or going through major personal character growth but vaguely directed at him, so like idk how to just talk about how he makes me feel without accidentally making it about me, and I don’t want it to be about me I want it to be about how he’s a fantastic human being and I adore him.

(Spacing so my brain doesn’t want to implode it’s self) Like literally all this guy has to do (and has done) to make me even slightly flustered is just be a decent human being. Like that’s it. He’ll just talk to me like we’re relatively good friends and then BAM feelings. And it’s even worse (better) because he’s also a pretty like affectionate person in general (or just not emotionally repressed like I am) so he’ll just like casually just joke around and like say he loves me like the “I’m insulting you but also I love you” kind of friendship and I have no idea how to deal with it. Also he is unfairly good at hugging, like it’s annoying (it’s fantastic but so far he’s hugged me three times and I’ve completely short circuited every time, like to the point that idk what else was going on at the time, for last two the first one was very awkward, but also somehow one of the best hugs I’ve gotten. Also for the record all of these hugs happened within the span of two days) cause he’s so warm and like, squishy, and on the last hug that he did (cause the last two were after awards for a speech and debate tournament, he got fourth in the event that we had done like three full practices for; we’re both in short prep) it was like one of those ones where like you tighten your arms around the person during it and he was the one who initiated it!!!!!!?????!!? Like ahdgdjdueueididgjeody. Also (cause I watched his round for finals cause you can do that) and afterwards he was basically saying that me being there was how he was able to do it (though I think he would have been able to do it without me cause he’s amazing) and like he was doing the like happy cry thing and then I was almost doing the happy cry thing cause I feed off of other peoples emotions cause I’m a vampire and don’t know how to recognize/feel them on my own. But like !!!!!!!!!!!!! Cause there was another person on our team that also watched his round and as far as I know he didn’t do that for them; but like I also waited for him at the bottom of the bleachers after awards finished to congratulate him cause I was on the opposite side to him and couldn’t at the time, whereas the other kid was I think sitting next to him so he may have done it then. But I don’t know. Also I’m this same tournament he offered to let me use his cologne for the first day (cause it was a two day tournament) and also told me how to use it cause trans and don’t know how to man. Granted for that one he also offered to another one of the kids but still. I’m also debating if I should go look specifically for that cologne to have it because of him but idk if that would border on creepy stalker.

Also there’s like, I have two best friends that are basically just my sisters, and like no matter how much I like him, they will always come first and idk how to say that without making him feel like he’s just like a second option or like I don’t care about him as much. Cause I do, I would go to the ends of the earth to make him happy; but also if it came down to him or them I would choose them every time cause they are my family. And I don’t know how to bring that up without feeling bad about it (cause it feels like I’m kinda leading him on cause he’s not my number one priority and I don’t know how to do relationships (or this level of affection both from or towards people) that didn’t start out from being friends first and in the last relationship I was in (which was like 3ish years ago and ended cause someone spread a rumor that I cheated; I didn’t, and the person believed it cause I was being “defensive” over losing the person that at the time had been my whole world) they were my number one focus and like came first no matter what and I like just wanted to spend time around them (probably also because they were pretty much my only friend that somewhat actively talked to me at the time) and now that I also have other people that I enjoy being around and don’t want to leave behind so I can’t do that again, but I also don’t know how else to do relationships cause I’m scared that if I don’t then he’s leave me because he doesn’t think I care about him enough. Cause that also destroyed the remains of the first relationship even after we broke up, and if I have to do that again I would crawl back into the hole I dig the first time around and never leave it ever again (an exaggeration but still, I would be very sad) I also don’t want to explain all this to him because I tend to over share/over explain when I’m trying to tell someone my emotions while also trying not to scared them off, and again I don’t want to guilt trip him into a relationship or like accidentally trauma dump on him while telling him that I like him. But I also want to make sure he know that I care about him, and it’s not a matter of who I like/love more and more just a) I’ve them known longer and b) they’re my family.

I tend to be on the more quiet side when I first meet people because I'm more of an observer than someone who willingly talks to people. I'm not a big fan of talking about my feelings because its something I grew up learning.

Once you eventually get to know me, I have a dry and morbid humor. I've been known to make morbid jokes while I watch horror movies. I'm fiercely protective over the people I love and care about to the point I will be tempted to fight whoever hurts them. In a relationship, I tend to be the caring affectionate one to my significant other to the point I forget that I have needs myself.

Some of my hobbies include writing stories and poetry, horror media, gaming, exploring abandoned and haunted places.

• Perfect neutral boyfriend. He isn’t judgmental- like at all. More over questions stuff then anything. Perfect for you, as he doesn’t care what you’re like at all. Your nice to him, he’s nice to you. And well Jake is one of my fav survivors so this might be a little biased.

• Personality over looks, for sure. You’re beautiful just the way you are, and growing up being told he wasn’t all that good enough he knows first hand how you feel. He’s learned ways to goner it though, and will tell you if you’d like.

• He probably towers over you though. I get tall vibes from him, and he hates having to look down to see you as it puts a strain on his neck sometimes. He never mentions it though.

• At most, he’ll give you forehead kisses and ruffle your red hair, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s picking on your height.

• Jake is a quiet man, only speaking when he wants to or it benefits him really. He’s an observer, just like you. It’s easy for the both of you to figure out when the other is down that way, so it’s almost impossible for the two of you to hide each others feelings.

• He can be a little to serious sometimes. Maybe it’s due to how secluded he was in the woods aside from speaking with his mom, but who knows. In that case, the two of you could just sit in silence and confidently say you had a great time together, almost like you guys were talking telepathically or something.

• Of course, that doesn’t mean Jake can’t do or take a joke. Most of his own jokes consist of dry sarcasm, which coincides with your own humor. Dark humor might be a bit iffy though, even for the both of you considering the circumstances you guys are in. Though if you two have gotten used to it, I’m sure it’s fine.

• He’s very protective of you. Even over protective of you think about it. In matches together he’s always the first one to help you was anything. Need to heal? Here’s a med kit. Want help starting up a generator? He’s got you covered. He might even go as for as to sacrifice himself to you if a match gets too heated.

• Though something tells me that if you ever died during a match protecting him, he might start to cry. Silently, but still cry. He just feels so guilty..

• On a higher note, he likes exploiting you hobbies! So you like exploring abandoned and haunted places? Welcome to the fog sweetie, that stuff’s basically endless!

• Some of Misa’s humor can come off dry, so that’s not a problem. Some of the morbid stuff scares her though. Like, are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?

• You two do binge horror movies though. It could be the middle of June and you guys are watching Black Christmas- you guys do not care. Especially if it means cuddle time for Misa- as we all know how touchy and clingy she can get at times.

• I think this would be the type of relationship where you give out aggressive "I love yous". Like have a war on who loves the other more. One of you eventually stops, but it’s cute couple moments like that, that really melt Misa’s heart.

• Misa appreciates that you reciprocate her kindness. She repays tenfold half the time as a reminder that you are just as important as she is.

• With that enthusiasm of hers, compliments are an everyday thing. Especially for your talents. One to note is your poetry and writing skills, as she often finds herself reading them. I headcanon she didn’t like to learn in school all to much, but with you she’s finally making an effort to at least read a little. Starting off with your writing, and maybe moving onto books you’d recommend.

You’re positive your favourite sound in the whole world is the rhythmic, repetitive sound of your fingers tapping on the keyboard.

Everyone has a different approach when it comes to coping with stress and anxiety. Some people drink away their unwanted emotions, some drown themselves in work, some watch yet another, mediocre Netflix show. But your solution, your little panacea has always been writing.

You’re not the best when it comes to expressing your true feelings. You can struggle with saying ‘I love you’ to your mother and then write a long, affectionate letter for her birthday that makes her eyes turn glossy. You may stutter and tumble on your own words while trying to order coffee and then complete academic essays with ease.

Whenever you feel like you’re overwhelmed, boiled up with mixed emotions, you do exactly what your school counselor told you many years ago: you let it out. She never mentioned any specifics, simply encouraging you to find your own way. And that’s exactly what you did – you picked it up yourself. First, it was writing a diary. No less than two weeks into it, you got bored. Turns out describing in detail every single mundane day of your life was never your forté. You threw away your old notebook, bought a new one and decided to write there whenever you felt like you really wanted to, not out of obligation.

And you continue to do so, these days you opt for a use of modern technology often. You open your laptop and pour your feelings onto a digital sheet of paper. It’s cathartic, in a way. Getting rid of what you feel like is weighing you down.

Jungkook however, your dearest best friend, has always been on the other side of the spectrum. Loud, obnoxious, a life and soul of the party who happened to miraculously befriend the most quiet introvert in class. Sometimes you still wonder how your friendship has managed to survive almost twenty years. You’re two polar opposites. Fire and water. Storm and chilly breeze. A confession screamed in the middle of the night and handwritten love letter.

You’re a dichotomy. Made of the same atoms, pulling in and pulling away. And if the phrase ‘opposites attract’ held any significance, maybe you would’ve ended up together. But in your case, it’s yet another platitude. Something that seems to work out only in books and movies. Because, if that was true, he would never fell in love with a female version of him, just graced with a sprinkle of pure sweetenes Jungkook sometimes lacks.

Soojin is everything you will never be. Polite, outgoing, sociable and so likeable you hate yourself for despising her. Truthfully, there’s nothing bad you could say about her. No wonder he’s fallen head over heels for her, not you.

What’s there to love about you, if you willing chose to pin for a boy that’s so out of your league? It’s actually hilarious to even dream about him returning your feelings.

You stare at the screen with half-lidded eyes. The clock reads quarter past midnight, letters start to blur into nothingness. Yet another chapter of your miserable life is completed as you save the document and slam your laptop shut. You don’t bother to shower or take off your clothes. Sleepiness hits you right when you close your eyes.

You dream of wedding halls and never spoken love confessions.

You read once on Twitter that being an adult means checking your e-mail as a part of your morning social media routine and since then, you haven’t quite related to anything more in your life.

At the very top of your inbox there’s yet another e-mail from your Creative Writing proffesor, Kim Namjoon. He’s a very stubborn man, you decide, as you scroll through the contents of his message. He still wants you to consider what he told you a few days ago after class, it seems.

“Miss ___? Can I talk to you for a second?”

“Sure.” you replied and awkwardly walked up to his podium.

You might have been madly (and miserablely) in love with your best friend, but Kim Namjoon has never failed to make you feel like a silly teenager with a crush on her older teacher. To say Kim Namjoon was intimidating was an misunderstanding. His presence was thoroughly electrifying. You remembered a very disappointed sigh the girl sitting next you let out when she noticed a ring on his right hand. You couldn’t judge her. His wife had scored probably the finest man on this damn planet.

“I read your latest assignment and I must say, your novelette was outstanding as always. Dare I say the best among others,” Namjoon said. You bowed your head in acknowledgement, praying he wouldn’t notice your rose-colored cheeks. “Regarding that, I actually have a proposition for you.”

At that, your eyes widened. “What kind of proposition, sir?” you asked.

He picked up a sheet of paper from his desk and handed it to you. It was a flyer, you realised, and read it through quickly. VARIETÉ Publishing was organising an annual contest for young poets, which you had heard about before. Your English Literature proffesor mentioned it during her lecture a week ago. However, poetry had never been your strong suit. As much as you enjoyed reading it, you weren’t really fond of creating your own poems. So why did Kim Namjoon decide to tell you about this all of a sudden?

“I know what you might be thinking right now, but I’m not actually encouraging you to take part in this competition,” As he smiled, two dimples appeared on each side of his mouth. “Do you know anything about VARIETÉ Publishing?”

Slightly confused, you gave him a nod. “It’s one if the biggest publishing companies in the country.”

“That’s very much true,” Namjoon agreed. “VARIETÉ's vice-chairman, Lee Jongi, is actually my old friend. We used to study together here, at this university. When I chose a teaching career, he got a job in a foreign publishing company, climbed up the ladder until the very top and now he’s vice-chairman and I’m a simple college professor,” He chuckled. You were too stunned to form a coherent response let alone laugh along with him. Lee Jongi and Kim Namjoon being buddies? It was a small world, after all. “Jongi has always been very fond of young, aspiring writers. When I discover a student with huge potential, I send him their works. If he finds them interesting enough, he might even take a risk and propose a publishing deal. This doesn’t happen quite often, but I want you to know that you have a pretty big chance to impress him.”

You stared at him, wide-eyed because holy fucking shit, did he just say he can help you publish your first book?

“I don’t know what to say, sir. I’m shocked.” you responded truthfully. You had heard people complimenting your skills before but this was extraordinary. “Let me just process all of this: you know personally VARIETÉ'S vice-chairman and you want to show him my works?” Even said out loud, it still sounded surreal to you.

“Correct. But of course, I won’t do anything without your consent.” Namjoon said. “That novelette you sent me recently was amazing. I’d love to show it to Lee Jongi one day.”

The task was to incorporate a hidden, symbolic message into a story. You decided to use your favorite flowers, magnolias, and its meaning. They represent eternity, because once they bloom they will continue to bloom for a long time. In your story, a girl gave her best friend magnolia's seeds, wishing her love for him to be everlasting. A day later, she received a pack of seeds from the boy as well. She happily planted them in her garden and when they bloomed, she discovered they were yellow tulips. A symbol of love that will never be reciprocated.

“You make people feel things with your words, ___, and that’s a very rare gift,” You heard Namjoon add. “Promise me you’ll consider my proposition.”

There was thousand thoughts per hour running in your head, but you gave him a curt nod. “I’ll think about it.”

As you’re staring now at the screen, fingers hovering over the keyboard, you think about the girl whose only dream was to be loved by her best friend. Maybe it’s finally time for you to move on. Bury the past and plant a seed of new life. Because, loving Jeon Jungkook is, above all, the beginning of an end.

With shaky hands, you start writing a response to your proffesor.

Of course!! So Cancer sun I’ve basically spoken about here but combining that with Cancer mercury would magnify those qualities in you. I’ll do you one better, anon. I’ll do jealousy headcanons for all of them. This strayed from headcanons into reactions/preferences very quickly, so if you’d prefer I write some dedicated headcanons, I’ll gladly do that.. (also I’ve combined it with an idea I’ve been tossing around in my head for the past day or so. I’m sorry if Taehyung’s isn’t good—I know the least about him.) Hope you enjoy!!

Jin

He knew you were friends with his bandmates, but he couldn’t help but think you were a little closer with Hobi than the rest.

He hated to admit that his stomach would drop when you laughed at one of Hobi’s bad jokes. He hated that it made him angry when you would go to Hobi with a problem and not him. He wanted to be happy that you were such good friends with one of his closest friends, but every time Jin sees the two of you together, he just ends up upset.

It comes to a head when Jin is walking down the hall one day at the dance studio and hears you laughing. He hears Hobi mumble “Worldwide Handsome” as Jin enters the room and you burst into a fit of giggles, and it makes his blood boil.

As much as he wants to yell and scream at Hobi—at you—not for making fun of him, but to make fun of him to his own girlfriend, and then to hear her laugh at Hobi in a way that she doesn’t laugh with Jin… he wants to badly to fly off the handle.

But at the same time, the rational part of his brain won’t let him. He loves you too much to let something like this get in the way of your relationship. He knows Hobi too well to know the joke was only in good fun, and he knows you too well to know that you would never laugh if it was mean-spirited. Jin doesn’t know if that makes it sting more or less.

So instead of yelling, he spins on his heel and walks right back out the door of the dance studio. He hears Hobi call his name, but he’s too far down the hall to care. He doesn’t hear the door latch, though, and the soft footsteps behind him alert him to the fact that he’s being followed.

The only reason you were even at the dance studio that day was because Jin had asked you out to dinner that evening, and while they were a little late finishing up, the two of you could still get takeout from your favorite spot on the way back to your apartment.

So Jin isn’t surprised that you catch up to him by the elevator, your hand slipping into his as easily as if it were meant to be there. You quirk an eyebrow at him silently, and he hangs his head.

“I’m sorry, jagi,” he mumbles, his thumb ghosting along your knuckles as you wait for the elevator. “He just knows how to push my buttons. Even when I’m not there.”

You hum in response, squeezing his hand. “You don’t have to be jealous of him, you know. I love Hobi, but I’m in love with you, Jin.”

The elevator comes then, and he’s glad that pressing the button gives him an excuse to turn away from you so you can’t see the blush or the shit-eating grin that’s plastered on his face.

Yoongi

Yoongi feels like a third wheel when the two of you hang out with Namjoon. You and the Bangtan leader always end up talking poetry, or books, or film, or music in such an intellectual way that Yoongi ends up not being able to follow. So he always ends up sitting silently at the restaurant or in the living room as one of his closest friends monopolizes his girlfriend.

He hates the way you hang on Namjoon’s every word, hates the way that you nod in thought, your eyes focused solely on Namjoon as he says something that Yoongi can only assume is the most brilliant thing in the world.

Yoongi loves Namjoon, thinks of him like a brother, but sometimes he really, really wants to just tell the guy to shut the fuck up.

He finally builds up the courage to tell Namjoon off when the Bangtan leader’s phone rings and he gets up to answer it, leaving you and Yoongi alone in the shared living room of the BTS dorms.

“What do you think of the movie so far, Yoongi?” you question, turning your whole body to face him. You reach out and pull him closer so your legs are touching as you sit on the couch.

It’s then that he realizes that he can’t stay mad at you, not really. Namjoon is charismatic, and you’re friends, and Yoongi wants nothing more than to see you happy. And if that means putting up with you not paying attention to him when Namjoon is around, then so be it.

“I’d like to be able to hear it,” Yoongi jokes, pushing your shoulder lightly and giving you a wide smile. You laugh and promise that you’ll shut up so he can enjoy the rest of the movie.

You turn back to the screen after that, the remote in your hands waiting for Namjoon to return so you can press ‘play.’ Your back rests against Yoongi’s chest, and he slings an arm around your waist to pull you tighter to him.

“You know it’s harmless, right? Me talking with Namjoon?” Yoongi hums in response, but he can feel his face heating up, having been caught. “I really respect his analyses and knowledge. But he’s just a friend.”

Yoongi rests his chin on your shoulder just as Namjoon walks back into the room. You press play on the movie, and true to your promise, you don’t talk nearly as much with Namjoon as the rest of the film plays out.

Yoongi can’t help but smile when you take his hand and lace your fingers together. You might enjoy talking to Namjoon about intellectual stuff, but it’s the love you show Yoongi in the silence that makes him feel like he’s enough.

Hoseok

It was hard for Hoseok to watch you shamelessly flirt with Jin. He knows that’s just your personality—you’re friendly and affectionate with your close friends—it’s part of the reason he fell for you.

But holy shit, watching you and Jin cook together, watching the two of you come up with cheeky dance moves and sing along to the songs blasting through your phone, it really gets to him.

Hoseok is the jokester of the group, and normally, he’d come up behind you and make some sort of wisecrack, but today, he’s not particularly into it. He just feels sad.

Sad that you’re paying more attention to Jin than you are to him. Sad that you hadn’t even noticed him walk through the door. Sad that there’s a hole in your life that Jin seems to fit perfectly into.

He knows that you’re just friends. Hoseok knows that you love him, not Jin. He trusts you to remain faithful. But a small part of him is insecure in your relationship still. And it screams at him that maybe the two of you aren’t on the same page when it comes to how your relationship is developing.

But then you finally notice that he’s home, and your eyes light up in that way that they only do when you lay eyes on him. And Hoseok can’t help the goofy grin that spreads across his face.

“Jagiya! You have to come try this,” you call, waving him into the kitchen. “Jin was just showing me how to make this and I think you’d love it.”

You grab something out of the pot with a pair of chopsticks and offer it to him, your hand under it so it doesn’t drip. He hums in response. Whatever it was, you were right. It was good.

You smile and wipe a bit of sauce off his face with your thumb, and just like that, his insecurities are gone.

Namjoon

Namjoon knows he shouldn’t feel like this. He knows that the strangling sensation in his heart is just irrational jealousy. He knows that however close your friendship with Jungkook becomes, you would never leave him. But does he?

He walks in late one night after a long meeting with Big Hit and an even longer rehearsal with Hobi and Jimin to find you and Jungkook curled up on the couch fast asleep. Jungkook has his head in your lap, and one of your hands is in his hair, the other resting between his shoulder blades. Your laptop is plugged in and sitting open on the coffee table in front of you. Watching a movie, he surmises.

Namjoon can’t help the exasperated sigh he lets out, can’t help rolling his eyes in frustration. It’s times like this when the youngest Bangtan’s pretty face really gets under Namjoon’s skin.

Silently, Namjoon sets his jaw and goes about his nightly routine, washing his face and changing into his pajamas before deciding what to do about you and Jungkook on the couch.

He appreciates your friendship with Jungkook, truly, he does. But it’s nights like this—when he finds the two of you being overly affectionate, or when you seem to confide in Jungkook more than you do him, or when the two of you feed off each other’s competitiveness and end up in some ridiculous competition that only adds fuel to your friendship—nights like this where his insecurities seep through and he doubts himself.

He can’t bring himself to blame you for this. You’re far too amazing, and he knows that you care about him deeply. No, he tends more to reflect inwards when he feels like this, because he knows it’s his problem to sort out. If he caught you asleep on the couch with any other member of the group, Namjoon didn’t think he’d feel nearly as jealous. So what was it about Jungkook, then?

Of course, Jungkook is kind. And he’s energetic. And your personalities match in ways that Namjoon had never thought possible. It didn’t hurt that Jungkook was handsome. And there it is, Namjoon thinks as he steps back into the living room to check on the two of you. That old insecurity flaring its head again.

He considers leaving the two of you on the couch for the rest of the night. It’s late, and he really doesn’t want to wake either of you if you’re truly resting. But then he sees the odd angle that your head is resting at, and he takes pity on you. So ever so gently, he shakes your shoulder.

It doesn’t take long for you to wake up, stretching when you do. Namjoon hears your shoulder pop, and you rub it, a scowl on your face. Then, you see him, and you shoot him a tired grin, your eyes lighting up,

“Hey handsome,” you whisper, making grabby hands at him, beckoning him closer. Namjoon smiles, and he knows that he would believe anything you said, so long as you say it with as much conviction as you just spoke with. He believes you when you kiss him, soft and tender and full of love. He believes you when you chuckle softly at Jungkook snoring softly in your lap, the look on your face saying everything he needed it to. And he believes you when you tell him that you cleared your schedule for his next day off, promising to devote yourself solely to him.

Sure, he might have to deal with feeling jealous of Jungkook every once in a while, but he wouldn’t give you up for the world.

Jimin

Jimin prides himself on keeping a cool head when it comes to you. The two of you have never seriously argued before—he likes to think that he’s good at communicating his needs.

Except for one: your friendship with Taehyung can be a bit much. Jimin knows he should be grateful—he and Tae are close, so it should be a blessing that you fit right into the fold. But he just couldn’t help it.

He gets frustrated that Tae knows your go-to order at coffee shops by heart, and that he always gets food to share with you when he orders out. Jimin knows he shouldn’t get frustrated by that—Tae knows his orders, too—but for whatever reason, it just gets under his skin. Especially when you shoot Tae a smile, or you ruffle his hair.

That is, until one day when Tae, Jimin, and you are hanging out one afternoon and Tae offers to buy dinner that night. You smile warmly at Tae and ruffle his hair, and for a moment, Jimin’s heart sinks again. But then he hears you hum in response.

His heart soars when you cheerfully decline. “Jiminie and I were going to hang out tonight. Next time for sure, though.”

Tae accepts it with a laugh, and a joke about how the two of you are lovebirds, but Jimin doesn’t pay attention. His heart is pounding in in his ears, and he can feel his face flush. He can’t help it—he’s just so happy to hear you choose him.

Taehyung

Tae hates how you and Jimin connect on what seems like the molecular level. The two of you can carry on a conversation about literally anything. Fashion, pop culture, the universe. You and Jimin could talk at length about anything.

When you hang out with Tae, though, the two of you end up sitting in silence. Where you and Jimin could watch a movie and talk the whole time about your favorite characters or what you think will happen next, you and Tae watch in silence, only making comments to each other once in a while.

He knows that Jimin is his best friend, and that he would never intentionally do anything to hurt him. But there are only so many play arguments and deep, meaningful conversations Tae can walk in on before it starts to affect him.

He knows deep down that you love him, and he knows you wouldn’t leave him, especially for Jimin—he knows in his heart that you aren’t actually in love with him, despite his insecurities—but he just loves you so much, and the amount of attention you pay to Jimin makes him feel like he doesn’t make enough of an effort to connect with you.

You tend to notice when Tae is feeling jealous. He doesn’t particularly try to hide it. So when you notice him start to draw into himself, when he starts to get tenser around Jimin, you make sure to pay him extra attention.

Tae never talks about his jealousy, and you don’t want to push him, so you don’t bring it up. You know that someday, you’ll have to address it, but for now, you’re happy to dote on your grumpy boyfriend when he’s feeling this way.

Jungkook

Jungkook’s competitive side doesn’t really play well with his jealousy. He can’t help but see you hanging out with Yoongi as a challenge for him to be a better boyfriend.

He notices that you spend a lot of time with Yoongi, especially when the days are long and hard and when Jungkook can’t spend much time with you. He notices the quiet conversations the two of you share over coffee in the mornings, and the silent looks the two of you send each other before busting out into smiles and giggles.

Jungkook likes to see you happy, but it stings a lot that he isn’t the one making you smile.

When you’re hanging out with Yoongi, he does everything in his power to try to pull your attention away. And yeah, Jungkook knows he’s probably being annoying, but he rarely gets your undivided attention. It upsets him that you try to push him away to continue to pay attention to Yoongi.

You confront him about it one morning after Jungkook successfully manages to chase Yoongi from the shared living room of the dorms. Your ‘what’s your problem?’ is venomous, and Jungkook can’t help but feel like a child being scolded.

He’s silent for a long while, and you let him be. He tries to speak several times, but no matter what he wants to say, it isn’t the right thing. He knows he can be an ass, but he just wants you to love him.

Finally, after what seems like an eternity of silence, you silently wrap your arms around him, and you can feel all of the tension in Jungkook’s body disappear. “You don’t have to be jealous of Yoongi,” you mumble into his chest. “He’s just a friend. Sometimes, we both need quiet, y’know?”

And he does know. He knows how sometimes, crowds exhaust you. He can only imagine how the band’s whirlwind schedule affects you.

You kiss him gently then, cupping his cheek in your hands and playfully squishing his cheeks together. “Not all of us can be an endless source of energy, my love.”

He smiles, your hands still pressing his cheeks together, and you can’t help but crack up at the sight. He promises himself then that no matter what, he’ll do better at hiding his jealousy. You love him. That’s what matters most.
