Today's thrift find is a GAF/Sawyer Pana-Vue Automatic R slide viewer from the mid-1960s to early 1970s. I've seen two of them in the last three days and bought the second one; probably should have taken a better look at the first due to some contact corrrosion on the second -- oddly these inexplicable lines of melting all over the case seems to be a common thing, looking at several on eBay -- but it does work after a little cleaning. Click on through for more!
You can load up to 35 slides in the compartment on the right, and then by pushing the slider on the right in it forces a slide into the viewing area, then pulling the slider out turns the light on to view -- then the next time you push it in, it ejects the first slide into the tray at left (thus "Automatic") and forces the next slide in. The standard flashlight lamp inside is lit by two D-cells or a plug-in power supply.
The image in the magnified viewing area is quite sharp!
Sometimes I feel like a brain stuck in a sack of meat and bones. I look at myself in the mirror and it’s not me. It’s just some face I have to stick with. It’s really weird. That person I live in is really weird, I don’t understand why she does the thing she does. It’s kinda like watching a movie, I don’t really do anything, it’s more like I’m just watching everything happen without control. I judge her a lot.
Have you or a loved one ever wanted to stick your thumb in phillip graves' mouth for absolutely no reason other than you really think it would fix him (or you)? I have wonderful news for you. That's it, that's the post, enjoy. @worldseer come get your food.
I will come back to add to this with other skin tones for the disembodied arm btw. Twas a gift for my friend, so they were first priority.
