Can I just say that this has probably been my favorite ever moment I've had on Tumblr? Thank you so much!
Anybody been noticing the evolution of Deku's overall aesthetic? Like in terms of heroic aesthetic. Each hero generally has their own aesthetic. All Might had a Superman-esque aesthetic. Not exactly Superman, but the closest thing imaginable. All Might always tried to inspire hope. He always did that on purpose.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Endeavor later learned how to replicate All Might's hope aesthetic, but his is more centered around "Hope for Victory" in contrast to All Might's "Hope for Peace"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice Endeavor constantly looks like he's chock full of pride? I'd almost give post-"Holy shit I'm a terrible father" Endeavor a Vegeta-esque vibe.
Stars and Stripes is somehow a combination of both
Tumblr media
Horikoshi loves to play with aesthetics. One of my favorites being Shigaraki.
Beginning Shiggy: Obviously looks like a villain, thought he was going to shoot a dog.
Tumblr media
War Shiggy: Elegant. Almost like Nana Shimura. If I never read BNHA, I thought he would've been a hero
Tumblr media
But my point is, Deku's design and aesthetic has been reflective of his arc throughout the series.
Deku Mk I: green, doesn't know what he's doing. Has no realist ideals. Simply an idealist.
Tumblr media
Notice how frail he looks despite the fact we KNOW he's built like a triple decker bus. It's supposed to represent how out of his element he is.
Deku Mk II: More experienced, learning from his mistakes. He's becoming a more traditional member of hero society.
Tumblr media
You can tell by the more thick look of the suit that Deku is beginning to look more competent, but you can tell that he's uncomfortable with this. Ignoring the fact that Deku canonically didn't like the mods to his mom's suit, you can tell he isn't comfortable yet.
Deku Mk III: Finally used to his own self. He has become the pinnacle of traditional hero society
Tumblr media
This is a Deku that visually looks more complete. Deku MK II had too many loose lines. His gloves rising up to his bicep makes him easier to look at. He looks less confusing to look at. This is a Deku that made his first real independent step. He went from punching to kicking. Notice this is the costume Deku uses in his first official villain fight.
Infinite Deku
Right here we get Deku's first legit "All Might" moment. Where visually he looks like a symbol of hope
Tumblr media
I used a still from the anime here because the colors and poses pop more in the anime than in the manga. This is a Deku that if I didn't know who he was I'd assume he's the main character
Deku MK IV: Same general deal as Deku MK III
Tumblr media
The Air Force gloves eventually help him become more of a visual vesself for the OFA users, and that's the most significant visual difference. This is a Deku that looks like a good, fine, member of hero society, but he doesn't look like symbol of peace material. He just looks like a strong background character
Vigilante Deku: Basically a villain. Crap your pants terrifying. Beaten, broken. But, he looks the most like a hero. Granted, in the way Batman looks like a hero. But he looks like his true hero. All he had to do was reject traditional notions of hero society
Tumblr media Tumblr media
notice how Deku is slowly looking more and more unhinged throughout the vigilante arc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Isolating himself and acting like a "true hero" is driving Deku insane. So while his vigilante era is the most akin to traditional comic book heroes, he can't maintain that.
Final Deku: An amalgamation of Mk IV and Vigilante
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aesthetically speaking this is Deku one step before he becomes the symbol of peace. Sure, his costume isn't super visually distinct, but, Horikoshi makes up for that with how he's posing and framing Deku. I have a feeling that Deku is going to get one more redesign. But as of right now, this is a Deku that looks closest to a Symbol of Peace. He can still be unhinged like Vigilante, but can look just as heroic as Infinite.
Thanks for listening to my ramble

I just wanna take a little sidebar here to talk about how talented Horikoshi is at drawing different female muscular physiques. Like Miro and Stars and Stripes have two drastically different body types while still being built like a triple decker bus. Like look at this:
Stars and Stripes: Top heavy, almost like Broly in terms of muscle mass. Her legs are plenty muscular, too. But she's got almost Dragon Ball-esque proportions. And honestly, I love it. I love how her muscles are bigger than her boobs. I think that's fucking awesome. I obviously can't say too much about it since I'm a straight while male, but I just think her design is awesome
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Compare this to Mirko:
Bottom heavy, still has substantial top muscle, but her legs are clearly her focus. And I absolutely adore that. She does tend to get more cheesecake than everybody else, but for as much cheesecake she gets, she receives a near equivalent amount of badass
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you mind if I hear your take on this? I've asked my sisters what they thought about these characters (I autistically ramble about BNHA to my sisters and they give me their thoughts), but they don't really know/care about what I'm talking about. So, I'd love to hear your take!

Movie 3 is just Robin and Batman by Jeff Lemire and it's just your beginning
The only opening you can have for The Batman 2
You spend the first 5 minutes of Bruce taking down Cluemaster. Finally, Bruce and Gordon manage to track him down and barges in to see him tied up and have Stephanie Brown waiting for them. Stephanie winks at the two grown men
"So, Batman, you hiring?"

While I love the idea of Battinson getting Dick Grayson and being an awkward father with an overly polite son. I'm even MORE in love with the idea of Battinson getting Carrie Kelly and having her bully him into becoming a functional adult.

Do you know what I miss? Being in love. I miss the feeling of waking up everyday knowing I had somebody that I could choose to make happy. And the fact that they would accept my love and affection? Damn. I miss looking into somebody's eyes and asking myself "could this girl be my future?". I miss doing mediocre things with somebody that chose to love me. I miss doing math homework with her and we both mutually wonder when we're ever going to use it. I miss thinking of nice and elaborate dates to take her on. I miss waltzing every chance we got. I miss hearing her laugh. God I miss making her laugh. I miss making fun of her for keeping her library card on her keychain. I miss hearing her ramble about the book she was writing. I miss doing random skits in public to make people think we're adorable or dysfunctional. I miss crying in her arms. I miss having somebody who was comfortable enough to tell me anything. I miss the idea that it was me and her against the world. I miss the fights. I miss arguing for literal hours and still texting each other goodnight. I miss the memories of the past. Seeing her in her prom dress, dancing with her, holding her, kissing her. I miss it all. I wish I was in love again. Actually, let me rephrase that
I wish I was with her again

be rad, Gaud. Make it yourself. Quit being lazy.
I demand a religion that 1) acknowledges the existence of a god/gods while 2) affirming that the divine purpose of humanity is to subdue the gods in massive chains and drag them down from the heavens like behemoths being pulled from the most cavernous depths of the darkest oceans to finally face imprisonment for their Crimes. where is that religion

I just went off on a tangent in the group chat, but I want to share it, cause like... Does anyone else feel this way?
___
I think Vegeta holds his intelligence, and other's intelligence, with a certain pride. Like recognizes that it's super important. Which is why he seems to respect Gohan more than Goku. Cause he can see Gohan is actually striving for knowledge, unlike Goku who just wants to get stronger and stronger.
That's not to say Goku isn't a smart fighter. He's super intelligent when it comes to martial arts and combat.
I also believe Vegeta was attracted to Bulma, not just because she's strong-willed and beautiful, but she's highly intelligent. I think King Vegeta, being regarded as the smartest Saiyan in his time, probably instilled that into his son. Like: "Listen, son. Being strong is important, but being smart is necessary. Our family did not come to such power by muscle alone. You must train your mind as much, if not more, than your body."
But then when Frieza got a hold of him, Frieza knew that if he kept the Saiyans stupid, then they could continue to be controlled. But Vegeta was just a kid when Frieza got to him. Vegeta was still very much impressionable. And Frieza fucking used that. He made sure to convince Vegeta that strength was everything. You have to be strong. If you aren't strong, you're weak, and useless. And useless soldiers die. Just be strong. Which I think would have created a conflict in Vegeta. He's got Frieza threatening to kill him if he doesn't keep getting stronger. And he's got his dad in his head saying he has to be smart. So eventually, he learns to hide his intelligence from Frieza. He has it, but doesn't dare use it. He can't. Frieza doesn't want to see that. And then as years go by, it just becomes part of his personality. Secretly smart. Outwardly strong and egotistical. And years go by. It's gets worse. More years go by. It's so much worse. Vegeta's now 20 and a complete asshole and has great strength. But no one even suspects he's got a functioning brain. He's just a stupid monkey Just this obscenely strong stupid monkey And then on Namek, Frieza death beams Vegeta. And we see his real intelligence. We see a piece of the real Vegeta as he fucking cries and tells Goku about what happened on Planet Vegeta and why he joined Frieza in the first place. It's a very small little snippet of the real Vegeta. But it fucking speaks volumes. He tells Goku those things because he's figured out that Goku gains strength through emotion. Vegeta has figured out, in the very short amount of time he's actually known Goku, that Goku is a genius martial artist and uses his sentimentality to find the strength and will to keep fucking going until he's either dead or his opponent is. Vegeta is feeding Goku his own pent up emotions and hoping Goku can sympathize or even empathize with him and use it to kill Frieza for good. And it fucking works. Cause Goku ends up fighting not only for himself and his friends and family like always, but he fights for Vegeta and his entire obliterated race that he's never known. And the only reason Frieza didn't die, was because Goku gave Frieza a chance to live. And Frieza, obviously, is fucking durable as fuck

Plastic Man's Adventures in the DC Universe! Now with undertones of angst!
Eel O'Brian liked to consider himself a simple man. You know, single father, likes to make people laugh, one of the only members of the Justice League that Batman is actively afraid of. You know, normal everyday Joe stuff. He'd tell you his origin, but he's a little embarrassed to tell people that he used to be a goon for Zebra Man of all people. But, that conflicted with his feeling of pride that Batman of all people is basically his parole officer. Overall, when people ask Eel O'Brian what his origin is, he typically just tells them "Zebras". That typically leaves the audience confused enough for him to be satisfied.
O'Brian and Batman had just finished a mission that required him to turn into a key that Bruce couldn't make a conventional copy of. O'Brian was waiting in the Batcave for Bruce to change out of his costume. Some idiot hired the Condiment King of all people and Bruce's costume was completely covered in yellow, red and green paste.
Alred approached O'Brian with a cup of tea in hand
"Tea, Master O'Brian?"
Plas gave Alfred a loving look. Alfred's been nothing but kind to Plastic Man. Plas has honestly considered inviting him to Thanksgiving multiple times. But, he just figured it would be weird.
"Please Alf, you can call me Plas. And is that earl gray?"
Alfred gave O'Brian a warm grin. O'Brian was admittedly one of his favorite Justice League visitors aside from Diana. Everybody else in the league acts awkward when they visit the cave. O'Brian and Diana act their own version of casual around him. It's refreshing.
"Yes sir it is."
Plas took a sip of his tea. He loved it. He morphed his face into a thumbs up
"It's awesome Alf. Thank you!"
Plas' face turned into a question mark
"Ooooo, is that a dash of honey?"
Alfred gave O'Brian a surprised face
"How did you detect that? Not even Master Bruce has noticed the dash of honey."
O'Brian morphed his face back to normal
"Nobody realizes my powers affect my taste buds."
Alfred gave a look of intrigue
"Fascinating"
The two gentlemen drink their tea in silence. Not awkward silence, but a familial sense of silence. O'Brian morphed his body into random geometrical shapes, it's his equivalent to stimming. Alfred didn't mind. After O'Brian finished his tea, he noticed that Robin was standing in front of a display of a Robin costume
"What's up with Robin? He's normally a lot more cheery than that."
"You're referring to Master Grayson. Master Bruce got a new ward. His name is Jason Todd. Master Bruce decided to adopt him after he tried to steal the tires off the Batmobile."
O'Brian's eyes slightly widened out of pure shock and intrigue
"Master Jason is a little...jaded. Almost reminds me of somebody else I used to know,"
Alfred gave O'Brian a glance
"Perhaps, Master Todd could benefit from hearing from somebody who used to live a life like his old one."
O'Brian gave Alfred a glance
"Okay Alf, I'm hesitant to do this, but your voice normally sounds like my common sense. So, I'll do it."
O'Brian proceeded to morph himself into a slinkie and made his way over to Jason. He noticed that Jason was bloodied up. He looked livid. All he could do is look at Dick Grayson's old costume
"What are you looking at?"
Plas morphs back into a human form
"Are you talking to me or the mannequin?"
Jason gave a scowl
"Take a shot in the dark"
"Wow, so I guess you definitely got Bats' signature scowl"
"What do you want, clown?"
"Wrong character, my derogatory pronouns are idiot/moron"
Jason's scowl turned into confusion
"What the hell?"
"Forget it. I just wanted to tell you that I get what you're going through. And if you need to talk to som-"
Jason snapped
"YOU DON'T KNOW JACK SHIT ABOUT BEING A STREET RAT!"
O'Brian stood in silence
"YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT IS TO HAVE AN ADOPTED FATHER WHO BEATS UP PEOPLE THAT YOU USED TO PERSONALLY KNOW! TO HAVE AN ADOPTED FATHER THAT KEEPS ON COMPARING YOU TO HIS LAST ADOPTED SON!"
O'Brian stood, listening to every word Jason had to yell at him in frustration. He held himself in a composed manner
"Woozy Winks"
"What?"
"Woozy Winks was my best friend, my literal partner in crime. The day your dad found me was the same day that he died. Just some Joker goon that was feeling spiteful. Shot him three times in the chest. He told me to run off before he reloads. Before that, I had to live on the streets. Doing things that you probably had to do, too. I know you think I'm a buffoon. I probably am. But at the very least, I can tell you that I know what you're going through."
Jason turned red in embarrassment, shame, guilt. He realized that he was shutting himself off like Bruce did. He had always told himself that he was going to be better than Bruce. How could he be so stupid?
O'Brian takes a knee and looks Jason in the eyes
"You're a pretty good kid, you'll get up-"
Jason hugged him and cried. O'Brian didn't know what to do. He only had a kid a couple of years younger than Jason and Luke was never this much. So, O'Brian did the only thing he could think of doing: the thing Batman would do to help somebody crying and in need
"Hey kid, do you wanna join us for dinner?"

Lex arrived at the party. He didn't want to be here. He would rather be anywhere but here. Ever since he got all he could get out of Grodd's "Legion of Doom", he's been trying to rebuild his public image. And he abhors it. Lex is aware of the irony of him hating politics, but if there's something Lex Luthor hates more than the unintelligent, he hates the political groupie that doesn't even know what they're talking about. As soon as Lex enters the room, he notices what he's actually here for as he sees the banner
"Happy 8th Annual Superman Appreciation Day!"
Lex goes to the nearest waiter with an entire plate of champagne glasses. He begins to follow the waiter around, drinking each glass slowly. Back to back to back. Just to make things better, Lex sees the last person he wants to see approach. Bruce Wayne. Of course, Lex could tell that Bruce was playing nice at this party and was playing the fool.
"Lex! I've missed seeing you! How was prison?"
Lex adjusted his collar with a hint of smugness
"A little unpleasant. Orange isn't my color."
Bruce gives out a good laugh and gives Luthor a pat on the back, leaving a tracking device in the middle of the seams of Luthor's blazer
"Well, take care Lex! I hope that we get to work on something again!"
Lex mumbles to himself
"For some reason I doubt that."
Lex then darted his eyes around, trying to find that waiter he was stalking so he can drink as much as he can until he can swallow enough of his pride to attend this event. As soon as he spots him, he gestures towards the waiter and walks towards him.
The waiter looked violently uncomfortable. He looked like he would've rather eaten an entire jar of glass.
"I'm sorry Mr. Luthor, sir. But my boss told me that having 12 more glasses of champagne isn't wise to have in one sitting. He told everyone not to serve to you."
Lex furrowed his brow
"Son, what's your name?"
"Linus"
"Okay Linus, how much do you make in one night?"
"About $250, sir."
Lex digs into his wallet and pulls out $5000
"How would you like to make 200% more in one night?"
Linus gives a smirk
"I'm listening."
Luthor gives a smirk back. He thinks he's going to like Linus
"I want you to personally follow me this entire night. Every time you see me without a full glass of whiskey, I want you to get me a full glass of whiskey. Do you believe you're my man, Linus?"
Linus extends out his hand for a handshake
"Yes sir."
Lex gives a smirk with a raised eyebrow
"Then why the hell are you trying to shake my hand when one of them doesn't have a glass of whiskey in it?"
Linus books it out of there. Luthor gives a chuckle to himself. Lex figures that he's going to hire him. Lex begins to survey the room, trying to find new investors, new people to convince that the Brainiac incident never happened. But, he mostly sees reporters, idiots, The Flash, more waiters-
Wait a minute did Lex just spot The Flash? Lex glares at The Flash, and he figures it has to be him. What does he do? Introduce himself? No, he's standing beside Linda Park, and she's even more of a pain than Lois Lane. He watches Linda's body language, is The Flash married to Linda Park?
Wally looks at Luthor, they lock eyes, and Wally tries his best attempt at a poker face but he knows that he's a terrible liar.
Linda kisses her husband on the cheek and locks arms with him
"Thanks for coming to this, honey. I know they're boring, but I appreciate you for coming to this."
Wally begins to sweat bullets
"Don't look in front of me, but Lex Luthor is right there."
Linda tries to look inconspicuous but amping up her PDA. Not to a gross extent, mind you, but enough that people don't want to talk to them because they're being an obnoxious couple
"The same Lex Luthor that you told me you swapped bodies with one time?"
"Yep, same one. Don't freak out."
Wally suddenly has an epiphany, he kisses his wife with a kiss of pride in the fact that he thinks what he's about to do is going to be so smart and hilarious it's going to have to get him laid
"I've got an idea."
Linda tries to keep her poker face as she feels a sudden chill of terror go down her spine as she flashes back to every time Wally has had an idea
"baby, don't-"
but it's too late. Wally is right in Luthor's ear
"If you tell anybody about what you saw, I'll tell the world about the Legion of Doom, your deal with Brainiac, everything."
Lex looks like he's about to pop a blood vessel
"How stupid are you to threate-"
"I'll even tell them that the carpets match the drapes"
Wally walks away to his wife and gets the hell out of there as briskly as possible.
Luthor drops his glass of whiskey
Linus hands Luthor a brand new glass a second later
"Thank you Linus. I think I'm going to go home. Come in to my office next Monday for you to start your new job."
Luthor leaves the building to get in his limo. Right as he's about to step in, he makes eye contact with Wally. Wally winks and Luthor goes into his limo. Lex then immediately starts planning a 2 week vacation for the emotional rollercoaster he just went through
Tumblr media
In the episode where Wally and Lex switch bodies with that iconic scene where luthor in Wally’s body takes off his mask and has no idea who he is, no one else knows he did that, only Luthor. and it’s not like he could figure out who the flash was based solely off of his own memory of what he looks like?
But he absolutely would recognize him if Clark say, took Wally as his plus one to a press event that Luthor happened to be attending leading to the strangest stare down of Wally’s life.

This is my personal tribute to the man who voiced my childhood. The man who voiced vengeance, the night, my hope, and my day, the man who was my Batman. Kevin Conroy. I voiced everything, but the art's not mine. If someobdy knows somebody who made the thumbnail, let them know and if they want me to take it down, I will

and THIS is how you know your show is good. When people are actively freaking out because your characters with less than 15 minutes of screentime are dying. I remember watching this with my dad and us just being uncomfortable and speechless. It was great. I've heard pepole trash on this because of how uncomfortable it made them, but THAT'S THE POINT. If a show is TRYING to make you uncomfortable and SUCCEEDS, then it's good. That's it. I just wanted to talk about it
this is still my favorite video on youtube lmaoo. they were NOT ready lmaooo

headcanon: for april fools one year, stephanie successfully manages to get all the batkids to operate as Robin. in the costume and everything, so one night there's like six Robins of varying sizes grappling around the city. and Robin is spotted at daytime, which is a rare occasion. when Batman calls for Robin on the comms, every single one of them responds, slowly driving him insane.
(the citizens of gotham are kind of confused, but y'know, they've seen weirder things.)
