as much as i love the idea of inevitably losing a loved one and then finding a letter they wrote in advanced to help the other person move on, i love the thought of that person dying but there’s no letter. there’s no pre-recorded video. there’s no long lost cd.

there’s no last comforting words to help you move on. there’s no sentimental piece of anything you can keep stored away for when the thought of them is just too much.

they’re just gone.

and you just have to learn to move on and continue with life no matter how painful it is.

The last time you saw him was when he was at his weakest, leaning against the brick wall for support. Blood pooled out of him like a waterfall: harsh and unrelenting. Your hands shook as you reached out for him, to feel the swells of his cheeks and caress the curls on his hair, but you were stopped. Cerulean eyes looked back at you with pity. You swallowed hard.

When you were younger, you imagined a whole life with Suguru. The slightly run-down house on the hill, the spring breeze filtering through your hair, the warm sun against your skin, and the even warmer hand held in your own. They were children’s dreams, and you were no longer a child. Except you still were. You could still hear that little girl wailing as she watched her future and dreams shatter in front of her.
