Moon — Thomas Shelby.
Tumblr media
— CW: 18+!, smut. breeding kink, (slight) housewife kink, mentions of kidnaping. Age gap. | word count: 1.7k. (not proofread!)
— a/n: I have no clue from where this came from. I'm not in the best mindset and this happened. This is also my first time writing for Tommy so don't hate me lol. This isn't canon compliant ig because I don't want it to be. I just want him so bad it's not even funny.
Tumblr media
Vulnerability.
It was a word he never thought he’d truly understand the meaning of.
It was always meant to be a secret. Why? Because good things don’t last long— not for him. Never for him.
And every time he is away from you, it is a constant heartache that not even the strongest alcohol or an insane amount of tobacco could ease. He wishes he could steal the moon from the dark skies of Birmingham and hand it to you, he knows how much you love the moon. Night after night, he raises his head to stare at it for hours, wondering where are you, if you are thinking about him as much as he is thinking of you.
Wondering if you love him as much as he loves you.
Love. Such a funny word. A meaning both so full and so empty.
He wishes he could steal you.
He knows how much he loves you.
It is always better to be safe than sorry— that’s why he secluded you, and you understood. Perhaps it was the naivety granted by your young age, or maybe it was your blind love for a man who was doomed since the day he was born. Whatever it was, it kept both of your hearts attached, beating as one; watching the same moon.
He counts the days, the hours, and sometimes even the minutes; he is a smart man, he knows where you are and with whom, he knows what dress you wore and who you talked to. And he does it for love. Or even obsession. A strange urge that creeps into him every night when he thinks of you after a long day of work— an urge to be loved. He counts the days, the hours, and sometimes even the minutes until he is able to see you again. To hide under that perfect, warm blanket that is your arms, your kisses, your body.
In front of your front door, he knocks even though he knows the door is open. He has guards on every corner, eyes on every window. He already lost too many precious things in his life. He can’t afford to lose you. He built you a house, a paradise for you to enjoy, cherish and take care of. He gave you everything you could ask for, even more. Growing up, you never experienced the same deficiencies and struggles he did, you never had to lift a single finger and that’s alright for him. Because on those days when he feels powerless and exhausted, he knows he can always ride back home, and regain that power by standing next to you.
Home. Home. Home.
“Tommy!” The squeak of excitement makes the long trip worth it. Everything is worth it if it comes to you.
He hugs you, keeping you tight against his chest wishing he could stay that way forever, basking in your delicate soul, your selfless heart. Thomas calls your name in an affectionate way that no one could evoke in such a genuine way. He kisses you with such passion that makes your blood boil and your heart flutter.
“How are you feeling?” He asks, ignoring how his mind scolds him for the hint of vulnerability that laces his voice.
Placing your hands over your stomach, his body tenses at the small bump underneath your expensive, tailored dress. “We feel good, we missed you— I missed you” You reply with adoration. He is finally here.
“I’m here,” He says as if you needed confirmation that he is in fact in front of you.
“How is everyone?”
“Good” He places a large hand over your stomach, rubbing it with his palm. “Ada keeps asking me when I will bring you back to Small Heath”
“And when will that be?” Your question gives him a pang of guilt. He wishes he could have an answer, his face says it all. “It’s alright, love. I understand things are… difficult”
“Enough about that” He breathes, cupping your cheeks and forcing you to look at him. He wants the distraction, he wants the warmth, he wants you. “I’m here to see my wife, not to talk about work”
With a giggle, you kiss him. “Fine. Whatever you want”
And he loves that. He loves how willing to please you are. He loves how you let him guide you upstairs, undress you, and adore you. Thomas’ hands caress the small bump in your stomach as he carefully lifts his hips to thrust deeper, enjoying every small moan and gasp. Normally he isn’t this gentle, but he will never harm you or your baby. With his occasional grunts and pants, he grabs your thighs, increasing his pace. Watching you bounce on top of him is a heavenly sight and is in these moments when he is sure you are an angel sent from heaven from him. He might not believe in God but whatever exists in this cruel world granted him with a Goddess.
“I m–missed you” You moan digging your nails into the pale skin of his shoulders. “I missed you s–so much”
That damn wave of vulnerability washes over him, the bed creaks with your combined weight, creating a delicious, sinful melody that he evokes on those nights when he is too desperate for your body and has to find relief in his own hands.
His large hands cup your breasts, paying attention to your swollen, sensitive nipples. Thomas pinches them gently watching you tremble. He can already imagine them full and heavy, ready to take care of the baby that you are expecting— his baby. A louder groan falls down his lips at the thought. Such a wonderful mother you will be. Such a perfect, precious housewife.
Such an angel sent from heaven.
“I love how you look” He confesses in a husky fashion, bouncing your tits in his calloused palms. “I can’t wait to see you— to see you all round and heavy with my baby”
His words send a shiver down your spine, clenching around him and making Thomas hiss from the raw pleasure of your tight pussy. “Please— don’t stop”
“I wasn’t plannin’ on, doll”
Thomas dares to increase the pace, using one hand to grope your ass to keep balance. Your moans also increase in volume, igniting the primal desire to claim you inside of him. “You are so fucking tight— I will fucking pump another baby into you as soon as you have this one”
You nod fervently, closing your eyes and scratching his chest. “Yes! I’ll have as many as you want Tommy— anything you want! Anything”
The loyalty he so loves.
His lust wins over his composure for a moment, landing a sharp slap over your asscheek that makes you whine and clench again causing him to grit his teeth. He is aware of how much you adore it when he is rough with you, he thrives on the submission you gave him since day one. Unable to help himself, your husband slaps your ass repeatedly, relishing the cries of pleasure that call him like a siren to a poor, lost sailor.
“Say you are mine” He grunts after another hard slap. He isn’t going to last any longer. Not with such a breathtaking view.
“I belong to you!” You comply instantly. “I am y–yours! I’ve always been” He knows you are telling the truth. That’s why he had to take you away from your home, to manipulate you in order to give up your last name, to cast you under his spell— that’s why he had to have you since he first landed eyes on you.
But at the end of the day, he was the one wrapped around your finger.
He is the one wrapped around the velvety, soft walls of your cunt, squeezing him for dear life and silently begging him to breed you, use you, claim you…
Love you.
With a strained cry, you come around him. He could watch you unravel on top of him for hours— in fact, he has.  Your movements were slow, deliberate, and intense. He could feel his breath hitch as you moved, and his heart raced as you arrived at your climax. His gaze was unwavering as he watched you ride out the waves of your pleasure. Thomas followed you seconds after, moaning your name under his breath; he fills you up just the way you both adore, it’s evident that when the hours pass, time is the only thing left to waste. Panting above him, he carefully settles you next to him, spooning you and keeping his softening cock inside of you. This is how he wants to end every day, to wake up every morning.
Kissing your sweaty neck, he breathes you in, memorizing your scent once again. He knows his time with you is limited before someone notices his absence and begins to track him. Thomas needs to be two steps ahead of anyone. Your soft giggles make him smile, a genuine smile that feels so foreign to him. Under the darkness of your bedroom, his hands caress your hot skin, providing you with the heat and care he knows you crave.
“I love you” You whisper, closing your eyes and falling asleep rather quickly. He listens to your heavy breathing, peaceful and unbothered; and that’s how he wishes it could stay forever. Away from worries, stress, fear.
“I love you, more than you can imagine” He musters, hiding his face on the crook of your neck.
It’s true. Because love is such a funny word that gives him such a funny feeling.
A warm, fuzzy feeling.
He opens his eyes, raising his head to look at the windows. The curtains are wide open, the weak glow of the full moon casting a divine glow over your naked body. His lips land on your shoulder, allowing the sensation to wash over him. It's a moment of peace and serenity, a moment in time that will never be forgotten. A moment he doesn’t want to end.
Tomorrow. Tomorrow he will bring you back where you belong. It doesn’t matter the consequences, it doesn’t matter if the whole world finds out Thomas Shelby was the one who kidnaped Jack Nelson’s younger sister. As long as he has you, he is alive.
And he swears it to the moon.

Vox biology headcanons I mentioned last time, because why tf not
• Vox has 2 brains Well, only technically. He has hardware needed to power a TV in his TV head and an actual, human brain just below his head, somewhere along high-chest level. The actual biological spine starts just under where the neck part of it would end, but instead of there being unsupported nothingness, there's a fucking metal spine that fills in the void. A bunch of wires extend from the hardware, forming a sort of secondary nervous system, allowing Vox to do all his tech bullshit.
The thickest of the wires runs all the way down Vox's spine and exits in the place where the tailbones would usually be, succesfully forming a tail. The tail actually can extend about 2 meters (or 6ft), but about half of it is tucked away inside his body. He can roll up the tail to about 25 cm (3ft : 4, 3/4 of a foot ig?) or extend it up to the afformentioned 2m/6ft. It's mainly used to be able to move around while charging or to be able to find a chargeport from the comfy spaces to sit.
Vox's tail is shaped like your standard computer charger, with the end being a B-type plug used in the US (due to him being American while alive). It is, as mentioned before, not actually a tail, but, rather a charging cable. After updating his head to a newer, more energy-consuming model it just appeared one day. As stated in previous hc's, Vox needs both sleep and charging, and here I explain why.
Basically, charging is for his hardware, and without it he can't do all his tech bullshit, overheats a lot and generally enters a state that is most simmilar to the flu. He also experiences problems with his display due to the hardware powering it literally dying.
Now, sleep in needed for his human brain. Without sleep he will show typical symptoms of a person who hasn't fucking slept in a while. What's suprising is that he won't notice for a while, since his biological NS (nervous system) will use the energy of his mechanical NS to stay alive (and vice versa!), but before the 'no sleep' symptoms set in, he'll have trouble with his memory due to the lack of sleep, which makes it unable for his short-term memory to be transfered to his long-term memory, and his ADHD making the whole short-term memory shit even worse. (Yes, he does have ADHD; will be explained in another post)
BONUS RADIOSTATIC
When Alastor dissapeared, Vox put himself on the amazing "23h work day" schedule and allowed himself one hour of charging time. Due to sufficient charging, his symptoms of lack of sleep were limited to shitty memory and light chronic fatigue, which kept progressively getting worse each year that Alastor was gone, but Vox substitued sleep and combatted his symptoms with...!!! (drumroll please!)
A shit ton of energy drinks, coffee (both drink and powder) and sugar mixed together into an unholy mixture that no other denizen of Hell nor Heaven would dare to touch with a 300m/900ft pole
So when Alastor returned to find his bf/husband barely alive (or, well, as alive as a demon can be) he analyzed his schedule and proceeded to seduce/force Vox into taking a week-long break to get some motherfucking sleep for once. Vox then proceeded to not be able to sleep on the first day and then completely crashing and sleeping about 60 hours straight (gay) on days 2-4. Alastor basically wandered around, cuddled Vox and was happy that his masterplan worked. After trying to make up for as much missed sleep as he could, Vox woke up, ate like 5 kg of spaghetti (Al was in the mood for pasta), drank like three big-ass bottles of water (about 4,5 liters), went to the bathroom and took an hour-long shower, after whichhe crashed back too sleep for another 12 hours before he stopped the sleep fest.
Alastor was both concerned and impressed at that, since that's a lot of fucking spaghetti, but also that's almost certainly more water than the average demon is supposed to drink per day.
In the end they went on a date and just chilled for the remaining time and Alastor made Vox a new, 6 hour work plan and he would't take 'no' for an answer.
(credits to @deppresion-soup for the tail thing and most of the Radiostatic bonus. It was their idea, I just kinda changed and expanded it in the 1:35 AM rush) (PS they have an amazing fic on ao3 with two-sided radiostatidc for once)

For the prompt, I have an idea ig.. Maybe public humiliation? Like being strung up, for the public to see, their hero or maybe their rebel leader along with two teammates, just how much power the oppressive force has and show the people what happens to people who try to rebel but they dont back down and maybe the rest of team rescues them? And right before leaving the three who were caught and tortured for the public to see let them know that the resistance never quits?
Hehe lemme know what you think!🐈‍⬛💜💜
Ooh this is awesome. I love it. So, here, have my try <3
The Show
• Masterlist •
Warnings: Public torture, humiliation, forced to watch, restrains, multiple whumpees, mentioned execution, mentioned past torture, open ending.
It wasn't supposed to end like this.
Fear was hardening their every muscle, their hands behind the stretching the metal cuffs digging into their skin. But the source of fear wasn't about the execution scheduled.
It was about the two lifes they were locked up with, and many more they were going to leave behind.
A part of them told that this was a sacrifice. The much needed trigger to finally make the public know about the torment people lived through outside of the capital. But that part was also angry that the people were too blind to see, blind enough to come and watch their execution like watching a movie.
That part was being overwhelmed by their grief. Grief of many deaths at the hand of the government.
All of that was still not enough to take over their fear.
They feared that the rebellion would suffer through this. They feared that the idea they fought for would be lost. They feared that people would obsess with it and become extremists— just as the resistance before them had become after losing their leader.
It would cost them the little sympathy they had. It would cost their— their family's sanity.
Right Hand would mock them forever for going soft if they had learned Leader called them a family.
But they no longer had the energy to lie to themselves. They no longer needed to protect themselves from the heartbreak that would come with the death of their close circle. They were dying before them. Their prayers for not seeing any of their team's death was accepted.
They tried the cuffs once more, a hand stopping them.
"You tried," Rebel One whispered. "Don't hurt yourself. It won't work."
"If I ever gave up when it—"
A guard shoved them to the wall, cutting their muttering.
"Don't speak."
"What about trying this after opening my binds?" They snarled.
"Leader!" Rebel Two hissed.
"And get a hole on my forehead like you? Thank you, but I value my life."
They couldn't hold back a laughter, the other two eyeing them with worry.
"And we're being run over by the government because of the fools like you. Have you ever thought that you shouldn't fear while you're doing your job?" they countered as their laughter died down.
The guard grew silent, and Leader turned to the other two.
"I think I can open your cuffs," they whispered.
Leader would die to protect the lit on the duo's eyes. They reminded Leader much of themselves with their sibling.
Their sibling, who was their trigger for standing up
They didn't want to think about that open wound, placing themselves in front of Rebel One as they reached to the cuffs. At least the duo had their hands at front, so it looked like they were just bundling up together.
One last time, Leader thought. They would get the duo out, but they weren't so sure about themselves.
It wasn't important.
It was hard to lift the plate covering the lock mechanism, but Leader's was determined. The two clicks were enough to assure Leader, the duo smiling as they placed the cuffs back like nothing happened.
"I want you to run when we get out of the vehicle."
"We're not—
"We're in no position to argue. And we all know the cuffs have a tracker inside. I won't risk your rescue."
"Still, we're not leaving you. You're our leader."
"And as your leader, I order you to run when you find the chance."
They still looked ready to protest, but Leader shot them a harsh look.
"Good."
The vehicle stopped soon after, the guard outside opening their cell and the one in targeting their weapon to Leader's back.
It would be a huge mistake if Leader didn't have their hands tied.
They sighed and motioned the others with a nod.
As soon as they stepped down to the concrete floor, they slammed their elbow to one of the guardians' stomach, the other motioning to them.
It was a mistake when there were multiple captives.
Keeping the attention on themselves, they managed to slam their head and break the nose of the guard that slammed them to the wall before. They were brought to their knees as a gun was slammed to their neck, their vision blurring for a moment.
"Did you really think that we wouldn't have a security around here? You only annoyed us more," Whumper chirped, throwing the two right in front of Leader.
A hitched breath escaped their lips.
"One would think a rat like you wouldn't have feelings. Where were they as you bombed and killed dozens of my people?"
No. Leader didn't attack to mere places. And people who weren't in mere places weren't very innocent.
Whumper pulled Leader from their collar. Leader was a lot shorter than them, and they were soon standing on their tips.
"I will enjoy the show you'll put up."
Leader could only snarl as they were dragged to somewhere else, the grunts of the duo following them. Their struggle was useless, their starved and unused body failing them in mere seconds.
"No one should realise that the nuisance they're dealing is just a mosquito buzzing at dark. Where's that sharp tongue of yours? You were more fun when we were gambling with the lives of our little pawns."
Their veins flared with anger as Whumper taunted them until they were brought to their knees under blinding lights. They squinted their burning eyes, their bones aching as Whumper pressed them down.
"Today I present you the murderer of many of our soldiers."
The crowd roared. Leader watched Whumper enjoy the attention before demanding silence with raising their hand. They turned to Leader, a wide and disgusting smile on their face.
"Your little rebellion dies with you tonight."
Leader's eyes finally succeeded to see the faces in the crowd, seeking a glimmer of understanding or empathy. Instead, they were met with cold stares and eager anticipation. The realization hit them like a physical blow—alone, vulnerable, and surrounded by the people either too afraid or brainwashed.
"You can kill me, but you can't shut the voices of reason," they just stared at Whumper. Whumper leaned on them a little, chuckling a little.
"I wish you had a microphone, but I couldn't risk you spreading your plague. Now tell it again."
"I said," they raised their voice but Whumper didn't let them finish, punching their face and sending them to the floor.
Leader spat blood onto the cold concrete, tasting the metallic bitterness. The crowd gasped, witnessing this for the first time.
Leader could perhaps go along with the show if they could show who actually was holding the strings of the government. And they had quite an image to destroy, Whumper's media experts were the best. But they didn't get much chance to do that.
Whumper didn't stop with a punch.
Kicks and hits targeted their openings, pain clouding their thoughts as their bones ached with each hit.
Whumper leaned in, whispering but spatting every word, "Your words mean nothing. You'll be forgotten, and your rebellion will die with you. Like a body with no head, it will crumble, and I will burn it down to ashes."
"They stood without me before," Leader wheezed as Whumper pulled them back to their knees.
"I was too busy with having fun with you that time. But without you in the frame, they will get all the attention. They deserve, don't they?"
"You don't dare."
"I'll enjoy every second of it."
With their body fueled by anger, they slammed their head to Whumper's mouth, causing them to stumble.
"You're weak," Leader panted as they stood. "You are nothing without the fear. And I don't fear you."
As the crowd watched in stunned silence, Whumper regained composure, wiping away the blood from their mouth.
"I dragged this out long enough," Whumper growled, drawing a dagger. "The sentence for disobedience is death. And your death will be an example for many."
Two guards forced them down, bending their arm and bowing their head.
"Severing your head would be kindness," Whumper came closer, stopping for a moment before striking with the dagger.
Leader gasped, unable to pull back as pain dug deeper.
Protests rose, the noise blending into the chaos of their own consciousness fading. But pain and shouts and tears and everything meant nothing.
Because they knew rebellion would move on, with Right Hand rushing to the stage and Rebel One disarming the guard holding them.
It was a good show. And Leader believed that the show would go on.
"They aren't taking you alive."
They felt the dagger crush their ribs as Whumper twisted it up, their breaths dying and body crumbling while Whumper pulled it back.
Their eyes closed with a smile on their face.

OOO what about a Dark Fey reader like Maleficent? that was being hunted down by a dangerous group of cryptid hunters, and had a broken wing n wounded by iron bullets but kept running.
And the Creeps found them took em in. and since ferfolk cannot lie,.. caught them off guard with a question on how they felt about that creep 😉
I expect to see Slenderman!👁👁 and another ig👍plz
idk I rarely see Supernatural like readers, it's a little disappointing imo. I love powerful self-inserts ok?
Slenderman with a Fey!S/o
UWAAAA I'm sorry for taking so long to get to this !! I've kinda been sucked up in a bunch of irl stuff !! (Nothing serious, just me working on things)!!
Admittedly I have never watched maleficent; so I'll solely be going off the info given in this ask I hope that's alright ☝️😔 and I apologize in advance if it's no good 😭💔
As you specifically brought up slenderman, he's gonna be our star today!! I was originally going to do the full list of characters but my brain js
A raisin
Also also!! I totally get what you mean ab the shortage of supernatural readers!!! Not just in the creepypasta fandom; but really any fandom! Let the insert have powers, let them be super strong, ect ect !!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
You'd stumble into him after trying to hide and take shelter in his woods
Normally, he'd take down any trespassers after stalking them for a bit; but he was just too curious about you to make that the case
I dont know, I always think of slenderman to carry that kind of curiosity about the world and other creatures; I feel like that makes him more interesting than the fandoms standard "stern and oddly fatherly" take... also I just live the idea of curious cryptids!!
Moving on
He'd help patch you up with the resources in the forest; I've seen mixed opinions on whether or not slenderman has weird healing powers but personally; I think he has regen abilities that can only be applied to himself! Unrelated to the ask I know, but a quick little fun aside and little bonding point for him and s/o if they have the same deal going on
As for shelter? I'm personally still on the fence on if I wanna make the manor thing a part of my personal universe and hc that I write for these silly lads; but rn I've settled for a version of it! Not as grand or tidy as the old fandom hyped it up to be; it's a lil smaller and kinda... run down
Still livable, though, and you're more than welcome inside if you need somewhere to stay
Granted, I'm not entirely sure how the topic of romance would be brought up with him, but let's say he picks up on some behavior from you that makes him start putting together a picture
Bro has zero rizz I'm sorry
Regardless, he eventually asks the question; and as the rules go, you're kinda forced to tell him how you feel
I think regardless of if he reciprocates or expected your answer, he'd be surprised
I mean how many people are out here flirting with a forest monster, to their face
I think it could work, honestly! The relationship I mean!! I wish i had more hcs since this is such a fun idea, but I genuinely dont know much about fairy stuff and all the lore regarding them
But onto some more side hcs/little ideas to make up for the lack of stuff !!
If you need comfort, about the whole being hunted thing, slenderman is a good listener; and he understands what it's like, bro probably has to deal with people trying to get a look at him all the time. He gets it
Want revenge on them? Well if the hunters followed you into the woods they probably wont last long anyways; despite the whole curiosity thing he can be... rather territorial
Day to day life with slenderman is interesting as is, but with a fellow non-human companion? Shenanigans will likely ensue
What kind? Cant say, due to my lack of knowledge 😔☝️
Too injured to move around on your own? If you need to go somewhere slenderman will either fetch it for you, or just carry you to where you gotta go
Also he totally wont make it habit; even before the romantic relationship is fully formed
It just activates his neurons 😔

Thaumcraft thoughts again but this time I'm thinking gameplay rather than lore. Comparing 4 and 6.
To start off, 6 is obviously unfinished. This alone means in a comparison w/ no addons 4 wins without a doubt.
Still, even without addons there are interesting points to make here based on what we saw in thaumcraft 6 and what we might have seen if azanor didn't fall down a well or whatever.
Fundamentals: The first tab of the 'nomicon is far more straightforward, and much less likely to give a new player an aneurysm as soon as they open the book. The only part of this I dislike is how long it takes to get to golemancy. The research system is explained on this tab, but we'll save that for last.
Auromancy: Auromancy in 6 is far more fleshed out than in 4. Plus, I personally prefer the casting gauntlet to wands. It feels much more thaumcraft, and less fairy tale magic. You're using your gauntlet to force the world to your desires. It's badass. And the modular focus system allows you to accomplish so much more. The excavate focus in 4 is a joke. It's slow, the range isn't great and it doesn't do enchants. It makes you feel sad and wet and pathetic. In 6, you make a plan silk touch excavate lvl 2 focus and you tear out 5x5 blocks of raw stone. You feel like a thaumic god, shaping the world to your desire. Is it balanced? Absolutely not. Having auromancy draw from the chunk-based vis system is hilariously broken. Vis cost doesnt matter because you move 8 blocks over and all your magic is back. But so much in thaumcraft is underpowered for the required time and effort compared to other mods, that it's nice to feel powerful for once. Ofc its limited by the small amount of effects in base tc6, but we're going to discount that for fairness.
Golemancy: The tc6 (and possibly 5? idk I never played that version) version of this mechanic is much more useful and interesting. Making golems is a pain in the ass now but theres so much more depth with the customization system. And not having to make a new golem for each task in your process makes life much easier. Though it must be said with how cheap golems were in 4 you could get a golem-based farm up and running much faster. It suffers in some areas, combat golems being pretty much useless except as bodyguards, in which case they try their best ig.
Artifice: The new arcane bore is slightly less expensive and clunky, but it's still ass. Splitting artifice and infusion was an excellent decision. The vis generator is a great addition, though it feels simultaneously underpowered and overpowered - it's basically free, but the generation is so bad you need a few to get the same power as an IE windmill and you'll burn through the aura eventually.
Infusion: Again, splitting this into it's own category is common sense. There are a few interesting new things in this tab: the verdant charms, especially the feeding one, are excellent QOL. The stabilizers and upgrades are good too, but I dislike having to purposefully destabilize an infusion to unlock the research, especially as its essential for what little endgame there is in base. I think the eldritch and void stone altars are new in this version, but they're unobtainable in base.
Alchemy: Tubes work better now. It's a fun time. The transducers are better tho, and can easily trivialize essentia organisation. Hedge alchemy I think is also new, and it adds some nice utility. Aversio is a nicer name than telum and no one liked Arbor anyway.
The Eldritch: Lol. Lmao.
And finally, Research:
NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE
WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO STOP RESEARCHING TO GO MAKE A DAYLIGHT SENSOR? OR GET A PHIAL OF AN ASPECT ONLY FOUND IN SHOES? OR WAIT FOR A SPECIFIC PHASE OF THE GODDAMN MOON?? WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH WHAT IM ACTUALLY RESEARCHING?
It's somehow simpler and infinitely more tedious than the tc4 mechanic. At least that was a minigame, albeit a tedious, frustrating game that required multiple thaumonomicon dives (or, yk, an online tool). It also doesn't make sense. Nothing I'm doing here relates to what I'm trying to learn. In 4, the research pattern often had fun nods to what you were actually doing, like having Venenum in a research about poison, or linking all the primals for a late game research. Celestial observations suck. I sleep at night I'm not gonna grab my scribing tools and paper to scribble a drawing of the moon. MC Eternal lets you buy curiosities, which just makes everything so much nicer.
Moving on.
In terms of things I would have liked to not be left behind in 4, firstly I'd like my goddamn outer lands please. Also centivis, but without nodes it really wouldn't make sense. Tbh the whole chunk based aura system is a bit meh, it breaks a lot though it is convenient.
I was going to discuss addons in this post but this is already really long and I'm tired so I'll save that for another day.

about geto & yuki's "treating the cause" vs gojo & jujutsu society's "treating the symptoms"
controversial take ig. this is taken from my twitter thread, just putting here in case i have to come back to it.
sometimes i have to force myself not to think too much about Yuki's goal, which then became a foundation of Geto's goal, related to "treating the cause" so there'd still be meaning to Gojo's current goal, even if it's still "treating the symptoms".
i guess im just really?? curious about it?? because if Yuki's goals were never mentioned then i accept everything that was happening in-universe and that you can't help continuing to be a sorcerer. but her goals exist, and there's implication that it's possible - to treat the cause (whether through techniques and pacts etc. later in the series). but no one besides her and Geto (and Kenny) are entertaining that idea. i wonder why? and then i thought about Gojo and also wonder if he actually understands the root of Geto's motives? has he ever thought deeply about it? there's a 11-year gap between the past and present, so i don't think that Yuki never met Gojo again during that time. she did want to meet him, no? and she told Geto her goal, and the reason why she conflicted with the school because of that. but i don't think Gojo ever mentioned about that (Yuki's ideals, if they has an encounter)? idk, i just think that Gojo has enough power and knowledge to also think about "treating the cause". but he's not doing that...
now, obviously there's no end to being a sorcerer, and the risks still exist, and there's no guarantee just "being stronger" keeps you alive. they'd encounter all kinds of curses to exorcise, and by no means they'd become like the unbeatable "Gojo Satoru", who has all the guarantee there is since he's (become) the strongest. so how much more do they have to try in order to survive?
i feel like.. the fact that Gojo's ideal of raising strong comrades is not just about his regret with Geto, it maybe (?) also shows that he thinks the problem lies in strength. which... wasn't Geto's problem essentially. but was that what he picked up on Geto's words during the break up? idk. the strength of a sorcerer helps them deal with curses. but Geto mentioned the time about strength because it's a medium for him to get to the source of the problem. if the cause is treated, then being strong doesn't matter.
i mean i think what makes anime onlys (whose reactions are giving me life because of their objective analysis on this issue) so intrigued is that you're presented with an idea that makes so much sense about the whole system, that none of other characters have mentioned in ss1. up until now, we only see them work in a mostly moral viewpoint of protecting other non-sorcerers. but here we have Yuki and Geto talking in pure practical viewpoint of "why should we keep doing this". then in current timeline children are still throwing themselves into death battles that probably will never cease to exist, because they're "treating the symptoms" - they kill a curse, another curse will spawn, the cycle continues. so is getting stronger the only option for them? it's like that.
i mean, i'm not sure if it's that possible to treat the cause, but... isn't it odd that neither Gojo nor the jujutsu world besides Yuki is seeing that vision? because of low possibility to succeed? because the system is designed so that sorcerers remain important? maybe i'll never find out.

Yass, time for adult!Percy!
I was wondering about life past the current Riordanverse and I really like the idea of gathering different possible jobs for Percy, for fics and for fun.
So here’s a few:
1. Teacher/Counselor
First of all, what kind of teacher? Is he an elementary teacher? Does he teach AP classes in high school? Which subjects? Public school or private school (let’s not forget, Percy spent a good chunk in his life in private schools as the token poor negro kid and was surrounded by awful arrogant rich kids like Nancy and Matt)? Montessori school?? And most importantly: no, I absolutely do not see it.
Percy’s ofc very compassionate and aware of surroundings, so he’d be on high alert with his students but with the current and former state in schools I don’t think he’s willing to get traumatized each and every single day at school.
2. Marine Biologist
Call me basic but since it’s essentially canon, Imma stick beside him (tbh I can’t remember anything past PJO lol). But marine biology is such an interesting and diverse field?? Like c’mon now!
Yes, it’s a lot more chemistry and math and physics than one might think but the possibilities? And the benefits with his powers? Let Percy get a minor in psychology and study animal behavior by actually interviewing them, IT’S A GENIUS MOVE IF YOU GET THE VISION!
3. Marketing Manager
Hehe. My field of study. Am I biased? Of course I am! Was this part of my fic Oh. It’s Them Again? Yessss, mama!
Again. Such an interesting field with many possibilities! And he’d get more than just a good check in NYC if he switches positions enough! Like… is Percy a digital marketing manager? How much does he hate Google, Meta, Amazon and co.? Is he working in strengthening brand awareness and if so, how? Is he forced to work in newsletter/email marketing? Is he a sales machine and constantly on the road? Or is he a key account manager and simply focuses on a handful of important clients?
Is he, as a disgruntled millennial, forced to work with spoiled gen z influencers he hates and has to figure out the TikTok algorithm like a grandpa on the sofa whilst unhelpful Annabeth is laughing at him (shut up Annabeth, we all know you use IG reels and occasionally YT shorts at best!!)? Does he accidentally go viral and HATES everyone calling him daddy in the comments??
Oh, the possibilities.
4. Firefighter/Paramedic
Hell yes. I saw someone else posting about this ages ago (if you can remember, feel free to @!). But this is so interesting. If you want to somewhat stick to canon and let Percy use his powers, this could be an option.
I see it, helping and saving people that way could be an option. Still, also more on the traumatizing side but I actually think this is more interesting than a teacher. And oh, the possibilities in stories are endless! Saving people and pets from burning houses. Coordinating shifts in the station, being a first responder… oof.
That said…
5. Doctor
Oof, I should really work on The Wedding Dance in the future even tho it’s hella minor plot point…
Hospital doc? Owning his own practice doc? Doing 1 first and 2 next? What type of doctor is he? Simply an internist? A gastroenterologist? Pediatrician (could be traumatizing)? A surgeon to let out his god complex? Okay, let’s note down surgeon for Annabeth… a neurologist? Endless opportunities. Where’s the PJO x Grey’s Anatomy fic we all need??
6. Hotelier
Whilst the service industry is incredibly fucked (pre- as well as post-Pandemic), this is also interesting. Let Percy and Sally own a bed and breakfast. What does it look like? How many rooms are there? How much do they hate booking.com and AirBnB for taking a good chunk of commission?
Where’s the hotel located? In Montauk? In Manhattan? In Greece?? What are the roles? Does Sally do the cooking and house keeping whilst Percy does repairs and is the receptionist/clerk?
Who are the guests?? You decide!
7. Chef/Baker
Ahhh… Chef!Percy my beloved, you will always be welcomed. So. Much. Stuff. To. Think. About. And yes, this will actually be relevant for one of my fics, IFYKY. Head chef, deputy chef, junior chef… did Percy go the Institute of Culinary Education? Did he go to Italy or France for a few years to hone his craft? Or did he purposefully say f Europe, let’s head somewhere else? What is his specialty? How much sleep does he get per week?
Also I’m never letting go of Baker!Percy and Sally who own their sweet cupcake shop and sell all kinds of sugary shit!
8. Stay at Home Dad
My fave trope, don’t get it twisted! While I think Annabeth and Percy realistically have one kid max plus two or three pets, I love the idea of Career and Business Woman!Annabeth and SAHD Percy who’s trying to make her life as easy as possible whilst tending the baby, trying to clothe the toddler and reminding their elementary school aged kid to pack their lunch.
A chaotic, yet amazing and rewarding life (which is still stressful! Just a different kind of stressful!)
Sooooo…
What do you think? Agreements, disagreements? Anyone who’s interested/in school for/already working in any of these fields? Do you think it’s unrealistic? Is it realistic?
Mayhaps, I’ll think about other demigods and what they can do in the future 🧐🫡

how about 🍓🍄🌿? ☺️
YAYAYYYY!!! (ask game is here for anyone who wants to join!)
🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?
honestly? lack of fanfiction in the dragon prince fandom. anyone who's stuck with my blog for a while knows that thats where i primarily started off writing and that was my overall gateway into the fanfic world. i've always enjoyed writing and using writing skills i've cultivated over years of creative writing to write for characters and media i enjoy is definitely something im proud of. back the dragon prince is a pretty small fandom and ig i wanted to see fics that weren't made yet, so i sat down and decided to make them. look where it got me!!! i had been reading fanfics for a long time before i started writing them though.
🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings
i'm going to do this one for guitarspear! ok so the basics for the hc is this- adam is a physically pretty strong guy, and is definitely very tall and powerful. needless to say, like a giant puppy, he doesn't realize his own strength and pulls people into ridiculously tight hugs. most people get irritated with him or think he's just being annoying when he's genuinely trying to hug them (but not realizing he's hurting them). over time he pretty much stopped giving people hugs. however, the first time he hugged lute, it was incredibly spontaneous and he immediately expected her to be irritated at him. so much so that he started babbling an apology. he was shocked to find that she not only didn't mind, but after some slight nagging on his part, admitted to actually enjoying the hug! needless to say he's much more clingy with her than anyone else.
🌿 ⇢ give some advice on writer's block and low creativity
gosh this is a tough question. i was in a huge writing slump very recently, about 2-3 months ago before i started writing for hazbin i actually hadn't written or felt motivated to write in quite a while. i was overworked and tired and struggling with writers block, and writing had become less of a fun activity for myself and moreso a chore to fulfill my followers requests. the best advice i can give when it comes to any form of creativity block, whether it be art block or writing block or music block or anything of the sorr is to remind yourself why you're creating art. you should be writing for yourself and creating content that, at the end of the day, ultimately makes you feel good. don't force yourself to write for fandoms you aren't interested in anymore and don't write things you're uncomfortable with- overall, just do what makes you happy and write for yourself, not for notes, not for others approval, but to create the content and fanfiction you want to see in the world. the best way to deal with writers block is to open your notes app and write the shittiest, fluffiest fanfic of your fav character comforting you about writers block. trust me, it works.

One of the biggest complaints about The Mandalorian Season 3 was that it was messy.
I disagree with that notion, and I'm hoping people are willing to give it another watch now that they have the full story. It is only because of Din's journey to redeem himself that Bo-Katan does too. It's only because of Bo-Katan joining Din's covert that they start to work as a team. It's only because of this unity and the Mythosaur that The Armorer can see something larger happening. It's only because of this that Bo-Katan and Din work to reunite the two sects of Mandalorians. It's only because Din and Bo-Katan that they all work together to take back Mandalore from Gideon. And it's because they destroy Gideon, and the Mandalorians succeed, that Din and Grogu can have some peace before moving towards the future.
Here is a further, more detailed explanation of why I disagree that the story was messy:
Chapter 17: The Apostate: Definitely an episode that was setting up the rest of the season. A lot of plot was carried over from season 2 and TBOBF. Also a lot of plot was introduced for the rest of the season. Din's plan to go to the Living Water, attempting to rebuild IG-11, the pirates that would later attack Nevarro (under Imperial influence). This episode really focuses on Din's desire to be redeemed and become a Mandalorian once again; both in traveling to the Living Waters, and later going to Bo-Katan and attempting to join her.
Chapter 18: The Mines of Mandalore: This episode is major for the show. Din finds out that Mandalore is still inhabitable (and later allows the Mandalorians to return there). He is able to see Mandalore, even though it's just ruins, and what his people once were. Obviously, both him and Bo-Katan renew their faith and commitment to the Way of the Mandalorians. It's a rebirth for them both, in different ways. This episode is a great base for the relationship between Din and Bo-Katan, which is so important because they are the force that reunites the Mandalorians moving forward. And of course the major reveal: the Mythosaur.
Chapter 19: The Convert: This is the episode that had the biggest backlash, and a lot of it is deserved. They spent WAY too long on the Coruscant plot. I understand what they were trying to accomplish but they did not need to spend so much time on it. However, this episode does play an important part in the overall plot. A lot of this episode illustrates how the Empire has survived after Return of the Jedi. They still have power, people and influence all over. We see it when Din and Bo-Katan get attacked, and we see it with Elia Kane. Also important is that Elia Kane works hard to make sure that Imperial cloning secrets do not fall into the hands of the New Republic. And we know that cloning is important with Gideon in the last episode and, obviously, the sequel trilogy. And while Din may not have a lot of screen time this episode, it is big for him to be accepted back into his covert. Bo-Katan is also welcomed into the covert. A major step for the unification of the Mandalorians.
*Also now that we know Dave Filoni will be directing a movie that ties together The Mandalorian, TBOBF and Ahsoka against Thrawn and the Empire, it makes sense that The Mandalorian spent time building up the conflict. This season definitely had some parallels between how the Mandalorians survived and how the Empire survived. And also how they will both make a come back.*
Chapter 20: The Foundling: This is a big episode for a lot of reasons. First, we see Din try to assimilate Grogu into Mandalorian life now that he has returned to the covert. A big step for Grogu's future. We also see more of Grogu's past (Kelleran Beq!!!) and how he was rescued during Order 66. This is also a major episode because we see the covert start to work together as a team to rescue Ragnar. They work as one unit to achieve their goal. It's an organized effort. Bo-Katan's short time with the covert has already had an affect. This is just step one and leads into the story of the next episode very well. Also major is Bo-Katan telling The Armorer about the Mythosaur. That changes the trajectory of the Mandalorians.
Chapter 21: The Pirate: The covert works together in the last episode and this episode takes another step. It introduces the Carson Teva and Din dynamic that we now know will play a part in season 4. This episode also shows one of the plays of the Empire, backing pirates to attack and cause chaos in the Outer Rim. Din asks for help fighting the pirates and the covert agrees. It's a nice moment that shows the community that they have built. The covert working together in the last episode changed their relationship. Bo-Katan and Din save the day. Their success moves them away from hiding in a cave. It brings them a new home and new hope. The Armorer sees this change among the covert. Din and Bo-Katan have brought new life into this group of Mandalorians. It's a big moment when The Armorer tells Bo-Katan that she will reunite the different groups of Mandalorians, especially since we know that Bo-Katan does not really want to lead anymore.
Chapter 22: Guns for Hire: This is a fun episode. The calm before the heavier story. Grogu gets knighted (as he should), Din hates on some droids, and they make some allies on Plazir-15. And then the end. I know everyone has different opinions on the Darksaber and how that story should have played out but I do think they handled it well. This whole season showed how silly the myth of the Darksaber really is. Some people laughed about the transfer of ownership of the Darksaber in this episode, that the cyborg creature from The Mines of Mandalore was actually the ruler of Mandalore for the short time. That it really should have belonged to this character or this character... And that's the point. Being in possession of one object doesn't mean you are capable of leading people. Bo-Katan had to stop focusing on the Darksaber and start by helping Grogu, saving Din, uniting the covert to help save Ragnar and Nevarro, helping the droids and people of Plazir-15.... it's these moments when she steps away from the Darksaber and works to help people that she becomes worthy of being the leader of the Mandalorians. Din helps her work towards that, even if she doesn't realize. Din knows that she is a worthy leader. But when he sees that others need her to have the Darksaber to do it, he gives her the means to lead. She returns the favor and respect by defending him in front of everyone. It is a nice moment of character development for her. It is also a great moment of validation for Din, which we know he deserves.
Chapter 23: The Spies: Definitely one of the best episodes of The Mandalorian. I could write a whole essay on the Shadow Councils conversation and the characters. That conversation shows how much the Empire is still manipulating the story. It connects together a lot of pieces from earlier episodes. Din's covert and the Mandalorian mercenceries come together AND start to work together. Bo-Katan shows how hard she tried to save the lives of Mandalorians. Din shows how much he respects Bo-Katan; really cementing how important their relationship is to this season and the unification of their people. This also shows that Bo-Katan has always been trying to serve and save her people. That these are her moments of strength and when she's just chasing the Darksaber, it doesn't work right. But when she's focused on the people of Mandalore, it is right. This revelation shows the shift of the Mandalorians too. They realize that Bo-Katan having the Darksaber is not the important thing but that she wants to protect and serve them.
And while we see Bo-Katan's strengths in this episode, we also see Din's strengths. He is an honorable warrior, a fighter. He will do anything to protect his people and Grogu, even let Grogu keep his annoying IG-12 suit because it's protection. He is the first to volunteer for Bo-Katan, he's at the front of the battle after they are attacked, he fights until he can't anymore before his capture. And this leads us to the next episode.
Chapter 24: The Return: Again, we see Din's strength as a warrior and protector in this episode. He fights like crazy to protect Grogu and his people from Gideon. He wants Mandalore for his people, he wants Grogu to have a safe place to grow up. Grogu and Din work together better than ever to fight against the odds. And all the Mandalorians work together to take back their home. It's only because all of the Mandalorians work together that they are able to win. Grogu, Din and Bo-Katan stand against Gideon together. That's really what this season was about, The Mandalorians finding common ground and making a stand together. And they succeeded. The Mandalorians can now rebuild, the flame of their forge is re-lit!
Din adopting Grogu is a beautiful moment that we were all waiting for. But it's another great moment that shows a lot about Din. Din did not officially adopt Grogu until it was needed for Grogu's future. The act is for Grogu, not for himself. He adopted Grogu so that Grogu can have a safe future with the Mandalorians. And the ONLY reason that the Mandalorians are a safe option for Grogu is because of Din's actions!!
I know a lot of people had complaints about the amount of screen time for Din and Grogu and that it seemed like they were side characters on their own show. But this season was an important part of their future! Din and Grogu now have this huge community of friends and allies. They worked hard as a group to build something and it all came together because of them. The only reason the Mandalorians even knew that Mandalore could still sustain life, Bo-Katan's journey of redemption and seeing the Mythosaur, Bo-Katan reuniting the Mandalorians... Din was not only there but the reason it all happened. The show needed this for the future plot of Thrawn and the Empire but also for Din and Grogu. They accomplished something great for their people and now they get to relax before going on to fight Imperial remnants to help Grogu train. A lot of this season was about rebuilding and healing. All of these characters have already gone through horrible things, they deserve some peace and success. They accomplished so much by coming together and helping each other.
This season was not a mess but a natural transition from Din and Grogu on their own to a larger community of Mandalorians. Din and Grogu worked with Bo-Katan all season to help pull together all the pieces. It is a part in their story and a part of the Mandalorians coming back from so much destruction.

reading through the new vestroia handbook and giving my thoughts™️as i go. note that im using my current knowledge of s2 as a reference + the small jpn descriptions from the official s2 website:
"wilda is a massive creature made of metal and iron, and she uses her mighty strength to pound opponents into the ground."
wilda is referred to with female pronouns both here and in his character bio, which is incorrect according to the show (but ig trans wilda ftw lolol)
"baron tried to help out by working as a waiter in runo's family restaurant, but he broke too many dishes!"
is that what mr. misaki told you
gus' character bio makes no mention of his devotion to spectra or their ambition to take over vestal, which is interesting considering it's mentioned in gus' jpn bio which is like, 3-4 sentences long.
"like his sometime battle partner lync, volt uses a mechanical bakugan created by professor clay [brontes.]"
straight up not true?? brontes is an organic bakugan. how else can he evolve??
the descriptions of the six attributes are pretty cool and varied but i feel like subterra and darkus didn't get as much in depth description compared to the other attributes rip
again, in brontes' character page, he's described as a mechanical bakguan created by professor clay, which is not true.
"brontes has no fear. he will use forbidden abilities, which may destroy his own body, and will challenge even the strongest opponents."
the forbidden abilities was used on brontes by gus against his will and again, the forced evolution wouldn't have worked on him if he had been a machine.
"dynamos is a bakugan trap, another mechanical bakugan created by professor clay."
well. . .technically, bakugan traps are ancient bakugan brought back to life by the vexos, so i'd say they're organic, too. plus, since the resistance has such qualms about the existance of mechanical bakugan, there's no way they'd use ones themselves if bakugan traps were mechanical.
"to overcome his short lifespan, the powerful helios became a cyborg — and now reigns as the supreme mechanical bakugan."
dunno about this short lifespan of helios' that they're talking about but helios became a cyborg so he could compete with the power of the perfect core.
"[about nemus] an egyptian king in gold and blue armor."
the japanese wikipedia says nemus resembles kanon, the east asian representation of avalokiteśvara, a bodhisattva associated with compassion. im more inclined to believe the jpn wiki rather than the handbook because so far, there's been a lot of inaccuracies and i wouldn't be surprised if this was yet another one of them.
the last paragraph of alpha hydranoid's character page is. definitely something.
"alpha hydranoid is the third step in the evolution of hydranoid, a one-headed dragonoid. alpha hydranoid evolved when he battled with dan and drago to help save vestroia from destruction. later, he became the guardian bakugan of masquerade."
🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿what
lars lion and oberus are referred to with male pronouns.

SATBK NINJAGO AU NO ONE ASKED FOR
ahaha... satbk stands for sonic and the black knight btw it's a wii game and it has a whole grip on my brain so now i'm combining my two fixations bc i can..!
this will be a long post btw, designs n ideas are all mine and just an FYI.. It is heavily inspired by satbk but i will probably develop it as an au outside of the satbk story.. for my own entertainment idk. also idk much about the knights of the round table / king arthur story so don't expect anything related to them besides the names..? idk
anyways let's start!
Lloyd and Harumi (aka Sonic and Merlina)
Tumblr media
Lloyd is a lost prince that gets summoned to this part of the world by Harumi who is a wizard and gets asked to help stop King Arthur (aka Garmadon) from being evil n wrecking shit ig.
Lloyd is chosen to help but he's not a knight! Harumi helps him find an ancient lost sword (aka Excalibur aka Morro in this au. hear me out. i'll explain it in more detail later.) and gets trained to become a knight with his now very annoying talking magic sword haha.
Also spoiler alert ig- Harumi is the real villain all along...! she manipulates lloyd into taking down Garmadon in order to get Excalibur's scabbard (which is in evil king arthur's possession which makes him evil + immortal) and wants to rule Camelot for herself to preserve the dying kingdom and thinks she'll be a better ruler to where Garmadon failed ig. still working out the motivations here.
Morro (aka Caliburn/Excalibur)
Tumblr media
Morro in this au is Lloyd's talking sword. You don't see his ghost form.. at all..? i just mostly wanted to draw him in ghostly prince form lol. Basically he was the crown prince before Lloyd but then died a tragic death and became cursed to haunt a sword..? Yeah sure. So Lloyd picks him up and Morro talks and yeah they're travel buddies now.
Morro basically helps Lloyd become a better knight, but they still bicker and argue like siblings and it is funny.
Okay I'm gonna put a read more here now bc this is gettin long. The rest of the ninjas designs + stories are under the cut!
Knights of the Round Table
Kai (aka Lancelot)
Tumblr media
Kai is Lancelot/Shadow in this au! He's the most loyal to KA / Garmadon in this au which is really funny lmao. As a knight Kai will follow any order given to him, he's one of the strongest knights in the realm and he's quite hotheaded to boot.
He encounters Lloyd first and they fight bc Lloyd is trying to stop Garmadon. Inexperienced as a fighter and a knight he doesn't exactly beat Kai but gets away after a technicality. Umm I like to think they meet a few more times over the course of Lloyd's journey, and maybe there's a part where Kai gets stuck with Lloyd and they have to work together.
Despite having differences of opinion on what it means to be a knight, Kai sort of sees Lloyd as a worthy rival... and lowkey younger brother!
Cole (aka Gawain)
Tumblr media
Cole is the second knight Lloyd encounters and fights on his journey. After having more experience Lloyd does in fact beat him fair and square! But Cole as a knight takes chivalry and honor very seriously. After losing he feels so much shame but Lloyd snaps him out of it because there's more to being a knight than serving a king!
Zane (aka Percival)
Tumblr media
The third knight of the round table that Lloyd encounters and also one of the toughest opponents Lloyd faces. Zane's fighting style is full of poise and grace and even though he doesn't appear to be as heavy hitting or brute forced as Kai or Cole he is most definitely strong! If not stronger for being able to conceal his power!
Lloyd is an experienced knight at this point, when he has Zane on the ropes part of the cliff they stand on falls off, nearly taking Zane with it. But Lloyd swoops in to save him like a true hero. After questioning Lloyd about why he saved him when he shouldn't have, Lloyd says it's because it's what he does! He saves people!
I wanna develop the knights more outside of the satbk encounters, so hehe. Keep ur eyes peeled for that!
Last but not least the other supportive characters in the story!
Jay (aka the Blacksmith)
Tumblr media
yeah it would've been funny to make Kai the blacksmith but i think Jay works better here!
Jay is the town's local inventor / blacksmith and tthe best kind around! Lloyd goes to his shop to sharpen up Morro Sword and probably visits after every fight he has too lol. Jay doesn't mind at all and likes Lloyd's company! Especially because he will get any chance to show off his newest crazy invention for Lloyd!
Nya (aka Nimue Lady of the Lake)
Tumblr media
Nya takes the place of Nimue who gives Lloyd three tests to become a true knight. I had to put her here because of water.. water symbolism n all that.
She's also very chill and hosts tea parties and invites Lloyd to celebrate after becoming a true knight! She's like an older sister to him too!
And.. yeah that's it i guess lol! I don't have more designs yet to show but I do have ideas and other stuff in mind! if u ever wanna ask about it my ask box is open! i wanna develop more of this funny little au haha

🦄 - Does your world have magical beasts? If so, which ones and how many? Have any been domesticated?
🧙 - If your world has magic users, can anyone be use magic or is it something they are born with?
📜 - What things can magic not do in your world?
it’s time to go on a tcol rant god bless :)
so if you want to see my full magic rant, feel free to check out the crash course on how magic works in terrae here (link!)
but otherwise onto your q’s!
🦄 - Does your world have magical beasts? If so, which ones and how many? Have any been domesticated?
terrae has two different subcategories of supernatural creatures: monsters and beasts. monsters are more akin to animals but more savage. they’re extremely unpredictable and ruthless and survive on carnage since they are essentially pure chaos energy or cava. as such they’re unable to be domesticated. they don’t have specific species… yet but i also have been putting off flora & fauna building in tcol forever cuz unfortunately bestiary’s are kind of my least favorite part of worldbuilding LMAO. i have mentioned one species by name in lore writing though, called haroçs and they’re a sort of flying creature ig? my imagination ain’t swell. anyway tho, beasts are similar to monsters except they have ars or the ability to use magic which makes them (1) more deadly and (2) occasionally gives them sentience if they’re extremely powerful. the demon king for instance would be considered a beast. they can control other monsters beneath them and have their own hierarchies with the demon king on top. also unable to be domesticated bc they have free will lol.
🧙 - If your world has magic users, can anyone be use magic or is it something they are born with?
tldr; everyone is born with a certain intrinsic combination of sana, cava, and ars and you need 30% ars to do any kind of magic at all. i think it’s possible to raise your magic potential if you’re under that baseline but you’d have to like. probably pray, eat some weird shit or train very hard. i’ll have to come up with a method or six cuz that’s something interesting to explore. you can’t change ur base sana tho, only how much of it you can access which is necessary for healing magic (so if you have no sana you can’t heal anyone with magic tm) and you can gain more cava by absorbing it from beasts or monsters (which is a base for tenom tm) but Watch Out—
📜 - What things can magic not do in your world?
make you immortal. everything else is fair game. the cool thing about the magic vis specifically is as it’s the magic of the force of will, if you can will it you can do it. it’s the basis for a lot of different guild classes and people can get Very Creative with how they use it. but while even sana can revive the dead under very certain circumstances (and by one specific person thus far in history), it can’t stop people from dying yknow what i mean.

Knight Meets Writer
A/N: These are just drabbles from my DR. Context - I’m an Eternal similar to the Fates in Greek mythology that was sorta kicked out and continued to live my life on Earth. I went by different names over time and spent my years writing. Powers include manipulating strings of fate and seeing bits and pieces of the past and future.

Summary: how I first met Steve and Bucky
Tumblr media
I forced a closed-lipped smile through a bite of my cinnamon roll. All I wanted was a peaceful afternoon to write, but a girl could dream. I only got a sentence and a half out before some guy grabbed the seat in front of me and snagged my journal from me. Eddie Frank, the football player that dozed off or made too much noise in our history class. He’d make his opinions on women in higher education abundantly clear, but he’d also made his interest in me transparent..
The irony didn’t escape me. I was less than one hundred years from hitting seven thousand years old, which meant I had more college degrees than anyone around. History, biology, criminal justice—hey, I had to fill my time with something. Going by a new identity meant rebuilding that reputation over and over again. Not that I minded too much. I loved learning, and I got to move around and study in different places.
Being as old as I was also meant that I had zero patience for children like Eddie Frank. I swallowed the bite of my pastry and reached over to grab my journal back, but he was faster.
“You know, I always wonder what you’re scribbling in there,” he said, casually flipping through the pages.
“None of your business, Eddie!” I reached over the table to try and grab it again, but he pulled his arm back, knocking it straight onto a passerby.
I let out a disgruntled cry as my journal fell to the floor, along with the patron’s coffee. The drink splashed all over my book, and both the passerby and I swore in frustration. If ever I ran into Phastos again, I’d ask for a way to make paper and ink not so easily soiled. There went the likely next best American novel.
The stranger, a short and skinny young man in a suit clearly too big for him, picked up the journal and held it out. Eddie moved to grab it, but the stranger pulled back and looked at me. “Is he bothering you, ma’am?” His voice came out deeper than I expected. Usually, I’d get fed up. Another man trying to come to the rescue. But something about the sincere look in his eyes had me truly believing that he had genuine intentions and wasn’t just trying to make himself look good. Something about him felt familiar, too.
“That’s my book,” I said, nodding to it.
He handed the notebook to me with a tight smile. “Sorry about the coffee.”
“No, no.” I shook my head. “I’m sorry you lost your drink. Thank you, uh…”
“Steve.” He held out a hand.
I took it with a smile, finally remembering where I recognized him. “Rogers, right? We’re in American History together. Professor McClain.”
He beamed. “Yeah, I’ve seen you around. Ursula, right?”
Eddie cleared his throat. “Kid, if you couldn’t tell, we’re in the middle of something here.”
Steve noticed my discomfort, his brows drawing together in concern as he looked between us. I pursed my lips. It would be best if he just went on his way and let me handle it. It’d be over soon, anyway.
“I think you’re done here, buddy,” Steve interjected. “Why don’t you let the lady do her work?”
Not like I have anything to work with anymore. I inhaled sharply and gently pushed Steve’s shoulder. “It’s fine, Steve. Don’t—”
Eddie stood up, his chair scratching the floor in a loud protest. He easily shadowed Steve in both height and build, but the latter didn’t shrink at all. “You wanna say that again, punk?”
I bit the inside of my cheek. This could only end up badly. Steve cocked his chin up, refusing to back down. “I said, ‘I think you’re done here.’”
Without another word, Eddie grabbed Steve by the neckline of his collar and dragged him outside and towards a back alley behind the coffee shop. I swore under my breath before piling all of my books into my messenger back and racing out after them. A damp journal could be salvaged, but I didn’t want to imagine how broken Eddie would leave Steve.
By the time I reached them, Steve was already on the floor, wiping at his busted lip. Don’t get back up. Don’t get back up.
He stood up, bracing two arms up to protect his face.
“Didn’t you have enough?” Eddie sneered.
“I can do this all day.” Steve threw a right hook, but faltered, allowing Eddie to knock him aside once more.
“Hey!” another voice rang.
I didn’t stop to check who it was, instead dropping my bag and hurling the hardcover journal right at Eddie’s head. He turned to me, eyes incredulously wide. I didn’t wait for him to say a word before hurling another book from my bag. That one hit his chest. “Leave him alone, Eddie!”
I realized my mistake as he stalked towards me. I couldn’t just materialize a weapon here or use any other sort of magic, not while there could be onlookers. Before he came within a foot from me, someone else pulled him back and threw him against the wall of the building. I looked up at none other than James Buchanan Barnes, Steve’s best friend and the university knight in shining armor, as the ladies called him. Unlike Eddie, he didn’t act cocky about it, but I knew a few other girls in my class well enough to know that he also knew them well enough.
“Are we really gonna do this again, Eddie?” James asked, as if bored.
Eddie turned to face him before holding his hands up in a surrender and scampering off. I huffed. Knight in shining armor indeed. He turned to me with a lopsided smile. “Are you alright?”
I nodded and gestured to the books strewn on the ground. “I think I got him more than he got me.”
He chuckled and picked them up. “That you did. You’ve got a nice arm, Ursula.” He handed me the books.
“You know my name?”
He already had his attention on Steve, unable to hear my question. “And what am I gonna do with you?”
“He had it coming,” Steve said before looking at me. “Seriously, are you okay?”
I snorted. “You should see yourself, Rogers.”
“Eh, I’ll be fine.”
“No, come on. Let me at least get you another coffee.”
Steve waved it off, still with a smile despite his bruises and cuts. Bucky blew out an exasperated breath. “Well, what if I take you for coffee sometime?” he asked.
My jaw dropped. Did he just ask me on a date? From the corner of my eye, I saw Steve shake his head, used to his friend’s flirtatious antics. Right, he did this with a lot of women. It could be fun, though. I wanted to say yes, see where it took us, but something about those fate strings urged me to say no. Not now, not the right time. I couldn’t fight it; I never had been able to fight it. Fate wanted what she wanted. I forced a smile, looking at him through my lashes. “Maybe some other time, Barnes.”
With a final nod to them both, I turned away.
~
I started seeing Steve and Bucky more often around campus, be it in the halls or coming and going from class. It started off with Bucky calling my name whenever he saw me or Steve waving whenever we crossed paths, and then it became a small game of who would spot each other first.
They caught me one moment while I was sitting on a bench at the university plaza. My friend and roommate, Dottie, and I wanted to get some fresh air in between classes and would sit on that stone bench. I’d take the time to just write whatever my brain came up with to declutter all of the class work. When I wrote, I had a habit of getting lost in my own world of characters and adventure, so much so that I didn’t hear the loud, “Ursula!” from across the plaza.
Not until I felt the soft pat of a notebook on my head and looked up to see Bucky with a small pout. “You didn’t hear me, doll.”
I scoffed, softly pushing his arm away, but I couldn’t help the small smile itching my face. “Sorry, James.” I held up my own journal, a new one that I had to buy because the old one was just destroyed with coffee stains. “Writing.”
He tucked his book away in his own bag. “Oh!” Again with that lopsided grin goddammit it. “Can I read some?”
Absolutely not. “You read?” Idiot.
He feigned an offended expression. “Yes, I do! The Hobbit is my favorite.”
Dottie cleared her throat. “Ursula, are you gonna introduce me to your friend?” She had a sparkle in her eyes as she looked between the two of us, clearly bubbling on upset that I didn’t tell her I knew the knight in shining armor.
My cheeks heated up at the slight realization that Bucky—Bucky—enraptured me in my own little world as deftly as my writing did. “Dottie, this is James. James, this is my friend—”
“Dottie!” she held out a hand, which Bucky took. “Tell me. How do you know Ursula?”
I gaped. Before I could say anything, Bucky spoke up. “We had a run in at Amorette’s. Well, more like an alley behind Amorette’s. I was catching up with my friend when I saw her just hurl a book at a guy, and of course my friend was right on the other side of it.”
A hesitant laugh escaped my lips. “It was Eddie.”
“Oh, that reminds me.” Bucky held out a cup of coffee. “For you.”
I looked at him quizzically. “Me?”
“Yeah! The lady at the dining hall gave me the wrong kind and Steve is in class, so.”
I set my journal aside and took the coffee. “Thanks, James.” I had to admit that the guy was charming, in his own dorky way. If I were any less stubborn, I’d admit that I had the wrong impression of him. Sure, he had the confidence and suaveness of any guy that looked the way he did, but he didn’t push or brag about himself to get a girl’s attention. Then again, he could have just been acting friendly and wasn’t really trying to flirt or anything. Gods, I couldn’t be misreading the signals, could I? Maybe he took my rejection from the other day and stuck with it. Any decent person would.
“You know you can call me Bucky. Everyone does,” he said, snapping me out of my spiraling train of thought.
I smiled, suddenly feeling shy about calling him by his nickname. “Alright, Bucky.”
“Hey, Bucky!” Steve walked up to his friend, a confused look on his face. “You said you’d be back in twenty minutes after getting that c—”
“Ah-ah!” Bucky quickly covered Steve’s mouth. “I think its time for my next lecture. I’ll see you around, Ursula. Dottie, nice to meet you.”
As he pushed Steve away, Dottie called out, “We’re going out dancing if you guys wanna join! Meet up at Amorette’s at 8?”
“Dottie!” I scolded. We had absolutely no plans to go out.
“Sure!” Bucky called back.
Okay, maybe now I had plans to go out.
~
The crisp night air pricked my skin, making me wish that I wore some sort of cowl or sweater over this dress. Dottie refused to let me go out in one of my older dresses and instead lent me a teal blue number that scooped around my neckline and flared out with the skirt. I honestly felt like a doll wearing it, but I let myself welcome the dainty and feminine feel of it. I’d worn dresses for millenniums now. This had no reason making me as nervous as I was.
Granted, I knew I was lying to myself. It wasn’t being caught in a dress that had me worried, but the person himself who would catch me in the dress.
I arrived at Amorette’s about fifteen minutes early, hopeful to get a few moments of calm to collect myself. Those hopes were quickly squashed when I saw Bucky already waiting outside the café with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. Gods, he looked so handsome in a suit.
Steve wasn't there, and I knew he came up with an excuse to leave us alone just as Dottie did.
At the sound of my footprints, he looked over and smiled. “Evening, beautiful.”
He held out the flowers, which I took gratefully. “Geez, Bucky. First coffee, and now flowers. Are you always spoiling your dates?”
At that, he beamed. “So this is a date?”
“I didn’t say that.” As much as I wanted it to be, I kept squashing those thoughts. James Barnes was as human as it gets—caring, handsome, such a gentleman. He deserved someone that could grow old with him and settle down with him, not someone that needed to change their identity every forty or so years.
This was just one dance, one night out. Who said I couldn’t have a little fun?
Bucky laughed, and I just about melted. “Permission to try to change your mind by the end of the night?” he asked as he held out his arm for me to take.
I wrapped my arm around his. “Permission granted.”
~
I had more fun than I wanted to admit. Bucky did and said all the right things; I shouldn’t have expected anything less. The moments of silence in between while we danced, or when he’d approach the bar to get us drinks, or even when we laughed at things we’d forget about later, I caught myself wishing and dreaming. Imagining settling in a white picket fence house, getting a golden retriever, writing my next novel while he read the newspaper. I’d never fallen so fast, but I sure tripped face first into this one. Even the vague sentience of the fate strings stirring at my heart seemed to sing at this meeting, at the dancing. How could fate want this? Who would I be to object?
The night went on too fast. When 11:30 hit, Bucky insisted on walking me home, saying that a man never let a lady stay out too long. I told him that he was pushing it there, but I accepted. He’d wrapped his coat around me when he saw me shiver on the walk back to my apartment. As we reached my door, I turned to him. His icy blue eyes rested on mine, both of us unsure how to break the silence or the tension.
“I had a lot of fun tonight, Bucky. Thank you,” I finally said. Tell me this is it. We can end it here and you can have fun with other girls dying for your attention. Girls that would age and live life with you rather than longer than you. Break my heart, Barnes.
He wet his lips, looking sheepishly down at his shoes with that charming smile of his. “Yeah, I had a lot of fun, too.”
Neither of us took a step away. Each second passed, I let myself plummet further and further into this feeling. “So, what happens now?”
He quirked an eyebrow up. “How do you mean, Ursula?”
I shrugged, copying his playful smile. “You tell me. How does the knight in shining armor end his dates?”
“Is that what people call me?”
“Oh, yeah. All the ladies look forward to being swooped on by Bucky Barnes himself.”
He laughed, shaking his head at the ridiculous nickname. “Well, I won’t swoop on anyone, but usually I leave it up to my date. If she says goodnight and goes straight inside, I take it as they never want to see me again. If they open the door and invite me in, it’s… well.” Bucky raised his eyebrows, hinting at what an extended night meant. “But if she lingers at the door…”
Bucky nodded towards me. I lingered. Realizing the tell, I bit my lip and rested my back against the closed door. He took a step towards me and gently cupped my face in his hand, his thumb caressing my cheek. In a breath, his lips met mine. Even when kissing, Bucky didn’t push. He started off gently, innocent pecks dancing between us. It wasn’t until I parted my lips that he slipped his tongue in. I let out a gasp as I took in his warmth, my hands coming up to wrap around his neck. At a nip on my lower lip, I clutched his hair, and he let out a guttural groan in return. I sighed into the kiss. I wanted more.
The cold washed over me once again when I nearly fell back as Dottie opened the door. “Urs? I heard a thud and though—Oh my God!”
Bucky pulled away, keeping a respectable distance as I tried to hide my surely red face.
“Pretend that didn’t happen! I’m not here!” Dottie slammed the door shut, but the moment was long gone.
I couldn’t help but snort out a laugh, which Bucky joined in on. “Sorry about that,” I said.
“Don’t worry about it, doll.”
We gazed at each other, and I wanted that moment back all over again. “Oh!” I began to take off his jacket, only now remembering that I still wore it.
“Keep it,” he said.
My brows knit together. “Your jacket?”
Bucky nodded. “Give it back the next time I see you.”
I cocked my head to the side. “You mean on our next date?”
“So this is a date, then.” He grinned like a little school boy.
I nodded, stifling another laugh. “You got me, Barnes.”
~
I rotated the diamond ring around my finger. Usually it quelled the hurt rising in my chest, but today, it wouldn’t. I looked at the date circled on my calendar. March 10, 1946. He would have been twenty-nine today. It would have been our fifth anniversary in May. We had a small wedding when we got news of him being drafted—just us, Steve, Dottie, and his parents. He wanted to wait until after he got back from the war, but I knew.
Then, I knew. It wouldn’t be for another seventy three years that I’d see him again. I didn’t know how or why until Steve came back and told Peggy and me that Bucky had fallen from the train. They presumed him dead, but those damned fate strings told me otherwise. I didn’t know which was worse.
I mean, of course I wanted him alive. I wanted so badly for him to come home and for fate to be wrong for once. I hated my magic for everything it was worth from that day forward. For not being able to tell me the full story, for not being able to manipulate it so I could see my husband again.
I swore that day that I would never use them again. I shut that part of me deep, deep down. As they held his memorial, as they gave me his flag, every particle of that magic died with the world’s idea of him. When Steve crashed and I attended his funeral, I ignored the screams of those strings as they attempted to claw me out of that dark place I fell into.
“I’m sorry for your loss, Mrs. Barnes.”
He’s alive.
“Condolences. Steve was a great man.”
Is. He is a great man.
“If you need anything, Mrs. Barnes—”
I need my husband.
I opened my locket, tears staining the black and white photo of us on our wedding day. “I’ll wait for you, Bucky,” I promised. “I got you.”

Getting back into Sonic has reminded me of how much I love sontails... It's such a cute and fluffy ship, they just warm my heart so much.
I’ve seen a lot of hate for it lately, though, so I ended up writing a whole essay (aka rambling) about why I think they’re great together. Figured I’d share that here for anyone that might need a pick-me-up :)
(Or for people interested in learning the perspective of a shipper, ig. I’m open to discussion.)
“What’s so good about them?”
I know plenty of people hate it romantically, but I really adore their bond in any shape or form. The idea of this really cool hero that's just some guy and his nerdy life partner settling together feels so wholesome to me, with how much they appreciate each other.
There's a closeness and mutual understanding in their dynamic that is simply perfect. I can see them casually growing into a relationship once it hits them how much they need each other in their lives — and it'd be the mushiest thing known to man, I tell you.
To Tails, Sonic is his light and source of inspiration, after saving him from bullies; to Sonic, Tails is the best buddy he could've asked for, someone loyal that will always keep up with him. They mean the world to each other. They're very attached, to the point the other character feels 'wrong' when they're alone (Sonic: Tails... it’s weird without you following me... [Frontiers], Tails' whole disappearance act after Sonic went missing [Forces]).
It isn't hard to imagine the adoration they hold for each other in a romantic light.
They're always together, through thick and thin. They were each other's first friend. Wanting to keep the other safe, wanting to support them… those are emotions just as powerful in friendships than in relationships, and very much present in their case.
They're literally called the Unbreakable Bond. Their friendship has been put to the test before, but it always stays firm in the end — so how would their closeness work in case either of them developed feelings...? It's pretty cute, it can be drama-free if you want it to, but it can be kinda angsty and interesting all at the same time.
With how important they are to each other, anything that alters or touches on their bond can make for great character development. That really drew me to them in the first place.
(Here's the point when someone would come in and say "You're a freak, please kys", to which I'd reply, I have to wonder what part of what I described is 'freaky' whatsoever.
I see them as best friends, and their ship dynamic as an adorable, budding love born out of their dozen adventures together. I've clearly stated as such. If that's gross to you, I got nothing, to be honest.)
“Okay, but they’re brothers. You’re disgusting.”
Of course, I understand why people see it brotherly as well, and respect that vision. But I grew up with them in the 2010s, with them being strictly best friends, and with their bond always getting the spotlight in the titles I was initially familiar with [Colours, Lost World].
They complimented each other perfectly back then, and they still do now that I’m familiar with more of the Sonic franchise.
I feel the whole brother thing is prominent in English versions of the media, such as certain scripts having Sonic call him "lil' bro" as a term of endearment, or the old cartoons [AoSTH] where they are actual family. I never got that impression from them while playing the games in Spanish, and I think the fact it's a well-known ship in the fandom overall shows I'm not the only one.
Being "as close as family" is also a very popular trope for people into romances, whether you personally like it or not. It can stay like that, with the characters treating each other like the sibling they never had, or evolve into them seeing each other in a different light as time passes, thanks to their closeness. Both are good, healthy outcomes.
“They also have an age gap.”
Ah, yes, there's the matter of age difference as well. I didn't know about their ages when I was a kid, I found the discourse surrounding them absurd when I was a teenager, and I'm not gonna care about it now that SEGA removed them from their profiles, since it's obvious they didn't ever make much sense. What kind of 8 or 12 year olds drive planes and cars?
In the games I’ve played, Sonic and Tails have been consistently portrayed as best friends, first and foremost, by most writers. That's the media I care the most about, and the one that made me invested in the characters in the first place.
(Also, fun fact, official Sonic designer Naoto Ohshima has occasionally liked and retweeted sontails art. So I don’t think it’s “wrong” to their eyes in current canon.)
In conclusion: I see an endearing friends to lovers narrative in sontails. I see Tails thinking Sonic is the coolest person he's ever met, and Sonic thinking the same about him in return. I see them finding a perfect partner in each other, falling in love with the person that saved them from solitude.
They're cute as best friends, they're cute as bros, and they're also cute as a couple. I just love them. 💙💛
Tumblr media
People are perfectly within their right to be uncomfortable with the ship or its fans. But if you dislike them and read this far, I hope I could make you understand, even if just a little bit, why they're not bad to my eyes.
To any sontails fans out there, keep being awesome (and feel free to interact/add on to this post, I’d love to meet more people that like them too!)

Grogu sitting in the bag at the Mandalorian's waist, looking up at another person (out of frame). Image from The Mandalorian, Season 2, Episode 5, The Jedi. Calendar from DataWorks.
Grogu looked out from the bag the Mandalorian was carrying him in and wondered why the bounty hunter came back for him. He’d gotten his beskar. Did he want more? Did he have some grudge with the Imps? Why take on the burden of rescuing and then protecting a Jedi youngling? He was a Mandalorian. They were enemies. At least according to Mandalorian lore.
The only enemies the Jedi recognized were the Sith. Everyone else was just misunderstood or greedy. The Jedi acted as intermediaries and helped negotiate terms and conditions that would resolve the issues at hand and if that didn’t work, well, they trained in personal combat, including the development, construction and use of lightsabers.
Knowledge of their skills in using the Force proceeded them wherever they went. It opened doors and kept them open, most of the time and if the doors were slammed shut, well, lightsabers didn’t really care about that. They could cut through anything, except pure beskar. Which is where the Mandalorians came in.
Mandalorians believed in a Creed that allowed them to go just about anywhere and inflict their philosophy on any other world and compel the the citizenry of that world to follow ‘the Way’. At the height of their power, more 2,000 worlds were part of the greater Mandalorian protectorate.
According to his teachers, most of those worlds just didn’t want to fight against an opponent that could so easily overpower them. They hadn’t really cared about the Mand’alor or the Creed or whatever Mandalore claimed as justification for their actions. They just didn’t want to be attacked by warriors who fought until the last person fell. Who didn’t care about the toll their actions had, as long as, in the end, they could claim that world for Mandalore.
But, that didn’t jibe with how this Mandalorian did anything. He didn’t seem particularly interested in taking over any of the worlds they visited. He didn’t even seem very interested in taking over anything. Yes, he was keeping Grogu safe. Which still seemed out of character. Not just because of the whole Mandalorians were stymied in the expansion by the Jedi thing. But because bounty hunters were not known for much other than bringing people in or dying when they failed at it.
Clearly this Mandalorian hadn’t failed to bring him in. He’d succeeded where many others had failed. Many others. But then, for some reason that the Mandalorian never explained to Grogu, he’d come back and rescued Grogu from the ex-Imps, who apparently were trying very hard just to be regular Imps again. It didn’t make sense.
Here they were, on Corvus, looking for another Jedi to hand Grogu off to because that’s what a different Mandalorian decided was ‘the Way’. The Armor had told Din Djarin to take Grogu to his own kind. But why? She must have realized that Grogu was a Jedi or at least trained by the Jedi. Did Mandalorians still fear their ancient rivals? Was she just trying to get him sent off someplace where he couldn’t intervene?
Grogu had to admit, at least to himself, that maybe he was being a little paranoid. He knew the paranoia was understandable. He’d been forced to leave his home and spend half his lifetime hiding and running away from people who wanted to use him for his skills or his blood or both. There had been good people who’d been punished for helping him and bad people who thought they could make a profit selling him out. That never seemed to end.
Even with this Mandalorian, Din Djarin, bounty hunter, best in the Outer Rim, Grogu hadn’t had some sort of simple, easy life. He’d been threatened, shot at, attacked, and kidnapped. If he hadn’t been lucky enough to meet Kuiil and IG-11 (after Kuiil reprogrammed him), he might not have even made it to Corvus. And of course, if the Mandalorian hadn’t changed his mind and retrieved him, Grogu would have likely been held by the ex-Imps until they had no further use for him, which probably would have coincided with his body not being able to replenish his blood volume quickly enough. Uff.
But he still didn’t understand why the Mandalorian did it. They had almost nothing in common. They weren’t the same species. Or the same Creed. Or the same anything really. As far as Grogu could tell, the only things they had in common were a lack of parents and a fondness for the Razor Crest. Which made him giggle. There was no way the Mandalorian knew that Grogu didn’t have any parents. And them both liking the Razor Crest? Well, that connection was thinner than a Jedi’s wallet.
Every once in a while he thought about asking Din Djarin why he did it. Why did he flip his life inside out for Grogu? Why lose his standing in the Guild? Why go on the run? Why risk his fellow Mandalorians on a person who ended up being part of group the Mandalorians despised? Did he just like small critters? Had he wanted a pet? Did he need a lucky charm?
Whatever the Mandalorian’s reasons were Grogu let them remain hidden. He didn’t want to find out. He didn’t want to know. What if the Mandalorian had only saved him because of his ability to heal him. Or lift a mudhorn? Or because he had brown eyes? That would be such a let down.
Until he was told otherwise, Grogu was just going to believe that Din Djarin had saved him because the thought that anyone would pay so much beskar to get their hands on a child was just too much for him. It was wrong at very basic level and even a Mandalorian who didn’t actually esteem the lives of adults who opposed his actions, wasn’t going to allow a child to come to harm. Not if he could do something about it.
Grogu liked that belief and was happy to hold onto it for as long as possible. Even when the tall human said things like, ‘I keep it around for luck.’ There were worse reasons for being kept around and no one knew that better than Grogu.
