heeseung and reader are “friends”, or better said, their families are friends. this up until they end up in the same room while being in a holiday all together.
warnings_ mention of smoking, cuss words, pet names, kissing, doggy position, fingering, breeding, aftercare, reader is very shy and innocent, heeseung is experienced.
reader is 18, heeseung is 23
minors DNI,mature content
i’ve written this at 2 a.m. so prolly there are some mistakes
Tumblr media
“mom do i really have to share the room with him?” she says talking to her mother on the phone. “sweetie, we didn’t have anymore rooms available. this could be a way for you to become friends, right?” “yeah mom..” she glances at him across the room “anyway mom, i’m gonna take a shower now. talk to you later”. she hangs up the phone. she looks up again at him, this time he’s looking at her. she gets up and takes something from her bag. “do you wanna smoke heeseung?”, she says almost in a whisper. “yeah sure” he says as he stands up from the bed and walks out on the balcony.
they quietly sit outside, puffing on their cigarettes, but without even glancing at each other once. “do we really have to sleep on the same bed?” she breaks the silence “yup, no other room available according to our parents” he says, as she rolls her eyes. He chuckles and looks at her. "They did this in purpose you know? They're trying to make us get along…” he lets out an annoying laugh.” yeah whatever” "I think this time it'll work..." he says as he looks at her and blows smoke out of his mouth. “yeah no, i think i’ll pass” “c’mon, aren’t you excited to be rooming with me? you get the honour of staying in the same room as the amazing, talented, good looking heeseung.” he says jokingly in an exaggerated tone. “not even a little bit” she says with an annoyed face, “you’re so rude” he chuckles then blows smoke out of his mouth. “and you’re full of yourself” “it’s not my fault if it's true” he chuckles smugly “i mean look at me, i’m gorgeous.” “yeah and i’m ariana grande” he snickers “you're being dramatic. you can't deny how handsome i am." “keep dreaming heeseung” he laughs harder, noticing how mad she seems to be “you hate me and think I'm ugly... yet you still agreed to room with me. seem to me like you have a weird way of expressing your love for me." “i didn’t have a choice. i’d rather sleep on the floor than in the same bed with you” he chuckles “if you want, you could just sleep on me y’know~" he says teasingly. she makes a disgusted face as she seemed to be blushing a little bit. "so you think sleeping next to me is gross but you wouldn’t mind sleeping on the floor? i swear girls never make sense… or do you have a crush on me? is that why you hate me? because you don’t want to admit your feelings?" he says jokingly as she avoids his gaze and shakes her head. his smirk turns smug as he sees her avoiding eye contact. “ooo, someone is blushing~” “i..i’m not..” he moves slightly closer to her and touches her cheek, turning her face towards him. “oh yeah? it doesn’t look like that to me.” he says as his smirk deepens. his touch was gentle and warm, enough to make her melt under it. she looks at him, but not in the eyes. his look deep and gentle. he stares at her as he brings her chin up with his hand so that she wouldn't be able to escape. “uhm.. i think i’ll go inside, it’s getting kinda chilly”. his smirk becomes even more mischievous.”nah. stay here and let's talk about how you really feel” his voice was warm and soothing, he looked deep into her eyes. his eyes glowed. “i feel okay. i’m great” "you’re avoiding my question. tell me how you really feel about me..." he says as he keeps his eyes fixed on hers. his gaze was like a spell, it was hard to look away and the tension in the air was getting thicker. “you’re.. uhm.. a family friend..” he laughs “so that’s how you feel about me? i’m just simply a family friend? nothing more?" she nods still unable to keep eye contact. “well, maybe this could be the perfect chance to get closer, don’t you think?” he leans even closer to her, their faces almost touching. his breathing gets heavier as he looks at her, their eyes locked together. “i..” she tries to say, but he takes his hand and puts it gently on her mouth, stopping her from speaking. he leans even closer to her. “shh, don't speak just yet... don't you think we could be more than family friends? don’t you have the sudden urge to kiss me?". she shakes her head, obviously lying. he grabs her face gently with his hand and strokes her cheek, his thumb gently caressing her cheek. he leans in slowly and moves his lips slightly towards her, only a few millimetres away by now. the air was heavy with the scent of her breath and the anticipation of what was to come, so much that it was almost suffocating. “just let me kiss you~". she closes her eyes and waits for him to do something. his voice lowers as he whispers: "good girl~". his breath is hot on her lips. only fractions of a second were separating their lips. he was still leaning towards her, about to kiss her. and then, there they are. they lips meet softly.
seconds, minutes passes around them as they move their lips like a slow but sensual dance. her lips are tinted in a cherry color, same with her cheeks. his hair is messy cause of her slim fingers pulling it slowly. as she feels out of breath she slowly pulls herself away from the kiss. he smiles at her and chuckles after she pulled away. “see? i knew you wanted it.” he says teasingly. “i..” he grins smugly, leaning back on his seat. “you didn’t deny it." he looks at her, still grinning. “you must have a soft spot for me. that’s why you hate me so much, because of your feelings for me. just like every girl, you’re just so damn embarrassed to admit it. because to be honest, i never thought a girl like you would be so easily attracted to a guy like me.” she doesn’t answer, she just tries to look away from him. “just tell me the truth, i promise i won’t make fun of you or something” he says in a caring and sweet voice “i just know you don’t like me, you always tease me and annoy me..”. he laughs once again at her words. he can’t believe how stubborn she is. she was so clueless yet he had so much fun messing with her like this. “and how do you know that exactly? i could be into you but you just won’t admit that I am.” he’s joking, obviously, but his eyes stay fixed on hers as a playful grin spreads on his face. “like i said, you always tease me for everything” she looks at him. “yeah, and for some reason you always take it to heart, that’s why I keep doing it. come on though, you know the only reason why I’m messing with you is cuz I think you’re cute, right?”. she shakes her head, she can’t believe this is happening. she gets up and tries to leave but he grabs her hand to stop her from getting up. “where do you think you're going? what, you want to run away from your feelings? just face it and admit it already. come on, let me hear you say it.". she is very embarrassed right now “i.. like..” "you like? you like what?" he says, teasingly. his grip firm on her hand, he smiles back in satisfaction as he sees how his words made her speechless. “..you” "me? me what? you like me? is that it?" he leaned closer and stared at her. she nods her head as she’s too shy to speak. this gave him the permission to grab her by the arm and pull her back in the room. he gently pins her against the wall. he kisses her cheek, slowly getting closer to her ear where he starts playing her lobe with his tongue. “am i your first?” he whispers in her ear, just to kiss her lobe again. she just nods, she feels too speechless and embarrassed cause this is happening to her. his eyes glow as he sees her nod. he was enjoying teasing her like this. so innocent and naive, so gullible. he couldn't help but let out a smirk. “does that mean I'm gonna have to take things really slowly with you, huh?" “y-yes..”. his eyes glow as he stares into her eyes. his voice is soft and tender as he speaks. “how come you haven't had a boyfriend yet?" “they don’t really like me because i get shy and embarrassed easely”. he presses his nose on her neck as he slowly kisses it “well.. they don’t know what they are loosing right how”. “heeseung..” she looks at him in the eyes, looking for an approval to speak. “you are used to girls who have already fucked?” “yeah, pretty much” “so does this mean you don’t wanna fuck tonight, right?” “hm, why are you asking this? i thought it was pretty clear. but yes, i would like to, if you want to and if you feel ready and comfortable”. as she hears those words, she grabs him by the collar of the hoodie and kisses him. this kiss was different from the previous kiss. it’s more passionate, it feels like they are trying to eat each other. they are tasting each other’s tongues, exploring their mouths.
he slowly pushes her on the bed. as he’s towering on her, he trails sweet kisses on her neck then down to her chest where he stays for some seconds teasing her sensitive nipples. she tries to contain her moans, but this doesn’t suit well to him. “mh? why are you trying to be quiet baby? let me hear you, let me hear how good i’m making you feel”. he starts undressing her from every piece of clothing she has on. he removes her shorts, and proceeds to remove her panties to. after he’s done undressing her, he makes his way in between her thighs, teasing her wet core. “already so wet baby?” he says as he looks up at her, who has covered her eyes in embarassement. he rubs her puffy clit, fingers slipping through her folds, and teasing her hole. “please hee.. do something”. he smirks, and puts a finger in her aching core. she lets out a quite loud moan. just like that he keeps rocking his fingers, making her see stars. his fingers move faster and faster as he feels her getting closer. “hee, i’m gonna cum..” she says before shaking and twitching on his fingers. he slowly removes his fingers from her, to then proceeding to undressing himself. “baby, do you wanna do a plain missionary?” he asks before positioning himself. “n-no, i want it like this”. she rolls on her stomach and raises her ass upwards. he smirks as playfully slaps her bum. “you’re so naughty”. he positions himself between her legs before slowly putting his tip, then his whole length inside of her. she puts her head in between the pillows to suffocate the moans. he puts his hands on her hips and rocks them on his member. he stills tries to keep himself calm to not hurt her. but she keeps pushing her hips to his, trying to get some more. he notices, and grabs a hand full of her hair and pulls her up. “if you want more, just ask for it baby..” he says before starting to rail her up. she’s moaning (or should i say shouting) his name nonstop. she has her eyes closed, she’s panting, and she’s definitely enjoying it as she’s clenching on him. as the clenches get more frequent, he can feel she’s about to come. this time she doesn’t even say it, she just twitches and her moans get higher in pitch. he cums in her, and after a few thrusts he pulls himself out, watching his hot cum slipping out of her.
she falls out of breath on the bed, followed by him. “you did so good baby for your first time” he says as he pulls her closer to his chest. he keeps stroking her hair, telling her how good she did. he hugs her until he feels she has fallen asleep in his arms. finally he is with the girl he has always loved ever since they were kids.

Ever since you came to the Habin Hotel, it felt like everyone was a little family. You were an older demon, having died back in the forties. So you have been in hell for quite some time.
When you first saw the TV commercial you wanted to see what it was all about. Especially since you heard that your old friend Alastor was involved. You haven’t seen him in years. Seven to be exact. And to know that he was back sent butterflies in your stomach. You never told him, but you always harbored feelings for the eccentric radio host. You never had the guts to tell him though since you feared messing up your friendship.
Little did you know, he had feelings for you as well. Alastor was already intrigued with you when you first met. Just the way you carried yourself and treated others. It was also a plus that you hated that infernal TV just as he did. Plus, you were a great conversationalist and probably the only one who could keep up with him when you had the time to dance.
Soon enough, Charlie, Vaggie, Husk, Angel Dust, Nifty, and even Sir Pentious became family to you. Almost as if they were your children.
“Nifty my dear, if you truly want to kill those little bugs I suggest you swing your knife in a diagonal direction instead of a perpendicular. That way, they have less of a chance to escape.” You told the little red-headed cyclops girl as she chased around a few stray roaches.
Nifty paused briefly and looked up at you from your seat at the bar. “Ooh! That’s a great idea! Less chance for them to escape hehe.” She giggled creepily and then started back on her roach hunt.
You shook your head and smiled fondly at the girl. Then turning back to Husk you regarded him with a warm smile. “Well, since I’m here I mine as well indulge in a small drink. What do you have in mind for me today Husk? I do so love the different drinks you concoct. If you worked at a bar back in my days on Earth, you’d be regarded as an artist.”
Husk chuckled as he started up your drink. “Weren’t you alive durin’ prohibition times though?”
You just waved your hand nonchalantly. “Ah, semantics. Besides, you know what they say. Nothing fun ever comes from following the rules.”
“How right you are Cher! Why if people followed the rules, things would be so terribly boring.” Alastor said as he popped out from seemingly nowhere.
Husk handed you your drink and you smiled as you took a sip. “Oh, hello Al. How was the radio show today?”
Alastor’s eyes lit up and his smile shone brightly. Most people would find it off-putting but you personally loved it. “It went splendidly, my dear! Thank you for asking.”
You were about to say something more, but then Charlie came down the main stairs drawing your attention. “Charlie, my dear! How are you, sweetie? Do you feel any better since the latest meeting with that infernal angel? Ad-what’s his name? The first man, I guess?”
Charlie met your gaze and smiled. “I’m doing a little bit better (y/n), thanks. But you don’t have to worry so much. That meeting was a month ago!’
You just chuckle. “That may be so, but I can tell how stressed you’ve been hun.”
Angel Dust clicks his tongue as he takes a seat beside you. “You know toots, sometimes it seems like you're the mom of this place with how ya act.” He then glanced at Alastor who unbeknownst to you was gazing fondly at you. “An if you're the mother of this joint, that’d make ol smiles here the dad.”
“Haha! You know, that doesn’t sound too bad Ma Cherie. I’d consider myself lucky to be assumed to be your husband.” Alastor said as he put a hand on your shoulder.
Instead of commenting, you could only blush furiously. Feeling the heat crawl all the way up to your ears, you tried your best to compose yourself and hide your growing smile behind your glass. Almost hoping that Alastor didn’t catch how much his comment made your long-dead heart soar. But he was no fool, he could see that beautiful smile of yours even as you tried to hide it behind the crystalline glass.
Perhaps you truly were like a little family after all.
Hope you enjoyed the story my friend! I gotta say, this was an adorable request. I had a lot of fun with it!
And if you guys want even more stories--like maybe your own personalized several page long one shots or even a multi-chap fic take a look at my Etsy Shop! I do commissions! I even have listings for Hazbin Hotel!

timer
@echoghost1 @everfascinated
.
It hovered over the surface of the portal, clearly separate from it.  A large, flat, disk shape, with a pale, luminous face.  More vivid numbers circled the edge, painted neatly.  A single, delicate, metal hand pointed towards the number seven, on the left side of the clock.  It had been pointing there for the past hour or so, ever since it had been noticed.
Maddie drummed her fingers on the workbench she stood next to.  The timer - because what else could it be? - was, thus far, a mystery to her.  Usually, Maddie liked mysteries.  Exploring the mysteries of the Ghost Zone had been the reason they had built the portal in the first place.  This mystery was fascinating, and Maddie was excited about it, but it was also incredibly troubling.
Obviously, the timer - hovering, green, immovable - was ghostly in origin.  What else could it be?  But how did a ghost place get in here to place it?  For what purpose?  How much time was left?  What was it counting down to?  It couldn’t be anything good.  Ghosts had no love for her family or their works.
As soon as she’d noticed it, she and Jack had started taking readings, but nothing they did gave them anything conclusive, or any way to get rid of the thing.
It was frustrating and troubling.  Frustrating and troubling.
“Uh, Mom?  Dad?  It’s six and we were wondering if you wanted us to order dinner or anything…”
Maddie looked up to see Danny coming down the stairs.
“Oh, sure!” said Jack.  “Pizza sounds great, son!”
“Yeah.  What are you even– What’s that?”
Danny stared wide-eyed at the timer for a long moment, and Maddie moved to reassure him.  Danny was always so timid around ghosts, so afraid.  This timer was doubtlessly malevolent, but she and Jack wouldn’t let it do anything to Danny.
Briefly, Danny’s eyes gleamed green.  Then, slowly, but inevitably, he collapsed.
Maddie leaped forward, keeping Danny from hitting his head on the bottom step by the narrowest of margins.  “Jack!”
“What happened?” he asked, hurrying over.  “Danny?  Danny?  Talk to me, son!  Can you hear me?”
Danny’s eyes fluttered open briefly, overly reflective, then shut again.
“I’m setting up the quarantine booth,” said Maddie.  “Will you carry him?”
Jack nodded, grimly.
They’d gotten the quarantine booth set up after Vlad’s unfortunate recurrence of ecto-acne and the revelation that ecto-acne could be contagious under certain circumstances.  It was sealed, filtered, protected, shielded.  Every precaution they could think of had gone into it.
… and, yes, they should use those precautions more often, but Maddie and Jack loved getting up close and personal with the subjects of study.
“We need to get that thing shielded,” said Jack as he set Danny on the bed.  He rushed out towards the timer and started setting up shield projectors around the portal.
Maddie, meanwhile, pulled the medical scanner free from the ceiling.  Well, ‘medical scanner’ was a very sci-fi way of putting it, when really it was quite prosaic, if you knew how it worked.
She positioned it over Danny’s body and set it to taking data.
Temperature, low, heart rate, low, bones, intact, nervous system… that part of the scanner didn’t work all that well, ignore that reading…
Ectoplasm levels were off the charts.
Maddie inhaled deeply.  Stay calm, stay calm.  They would fix this.  They’d cured Vlad and Danny’s friends, they could cure this, whatever it was.  They would get rid of that timer and they’d save Danny.
“Mom?” said Danny, weakly.
“Hey, sweetie,” said Maddie.  “How are you feeling?”
“Bad,” said Danny.  He tried to sit up, but Maddie pushed him back down.  “What’s happening?”
“You collapsed suddenly,” said Maddie.  “We’re trying to figure out why.”
Danny raised one hand to his face.  Green light reflected off his hand.  Understanding flicked over his features.
“Okay, but I think I’m feeling better, now,” he said.  He tried to sit up again.
“We need to figure out what happened before you go running around,” said Maddie, pushing him down again.  She looked over at Jack, through the thick, transparent sides of the quarantine booth.  Jack was now trying to throw a towel over the timer and–
Wait a moment.
“Stay down,” she told Danny.  “Let the scanner do its job.”  She walked out of the quarantine booth.  “Wait, Jack, wait.”
“But we have to keep it from affecting Danny.  We don’t know if its effect is visual or what.”
“I know, I know,” said Maddie.  “But look at it.  Look at the hand.”
The hand, which had been pointing at the number seven, was now pointing at the number six.
Jack scowled at the timer and tried to throw the towel over it again.  The towel passed through it.  “Are we sure this is a timer, Mads?  Maybe the numbers are counting down charges or something like that.”
“I don’t know, it still looks more like a timer to me.”
“But why did it affect Danny like that?”
“I don’t know.  We need to start decontamination procedures right away, though.  His ectoplasm levels are off the charts.  The sudden spike is probably what made him collapse, but I don’t know how this could have increased his ectoplasm levels so much so quickly.”
I don’t know either,” said Jack.  He picked up the latest version of the Fenton Finder (which incidentally, still detected Danny more often than not) and shook it.  “None of the detectors we have pointed at it picked up anything.  Nothing going towards Danny, nothing ambient, nothing anywhere else.”
Maddie had hoped that their detectors had picked something up, but with the continued failures of the Fenton Finder, maybe she shouldn’t be so surprised.
“We’ll keep looking,” said Maddie.  She was forgetting something.  What was she forgetting?  “Jazz.  We need to tell Jazz, so she doesn’t come down here.  What if it only affects minors?”
“Righto,” said Jack, shoving the Finder at Maddie.  “I’ll do that, you start the decontam procedures!”
Maddie nodded tightly and turned back to Danny.  She could see his eyes gleaming from here. But they could fix this.

Taken pt. 8
If Bucky Barnes could time travel, he would go back to that morning. He would hold you a little tighter in his arms, and he would kiss you a little deeper. He would pull your daughter in between the two of you, letting her giggle as loudly as she wants whilst her parents kiss her cheeks and tickle her belly. If Bucky Barnes could time travel, he would have told you not to go to the park—to go anywhere else. But Bucky Barnes can’t time travel, and his wife and daughter are gone.

He doesn't cry, though. He doesn't scream or hit anything. No, he can't. Not yet. For now he can only hold his sleeping daughter close to him and listen to the gentle breathing of a child who hasn't slept or eaten well in weeks.
It is all he can do to stay strong for his daughter.
The trip back to the States from Siberia was certainly tense, but Bucky is certain that it was preferable to the conference room he is currently sat in. He has been in many a debriefing, but he has never been in one reliant on a toddler.
“Bec, honey,” Natasha says softly to Rebecca, “I know it’s all bad memories, but can you tell me what happened to you and your mom while you were away?”
Rebecca looks at Natasha unsure before looking up at Bucky from where she sits in his lap. She had developed a habit of looking to you for permission to speak while in HYDRA’s custody and the habit has transferred to Bucky. After all, the toddler essentially traded one parent for another.
Bucky smiles encouragingly at his daughter, “Go ahead, love.”
Becca looks back to Natasha and takes in a deep breath.
“Just start from the beginning, yeah?” Natasha encourages.
Becca nods shyly before finally speaking.
“Mommy and I were at the park. I was swinging really high and jumping off. Then, Mommy said we had to leave, and she started walking really fast. Then we were in a box, and it was dark, and I was really hungry. We were there for a long time.”
Bucky bites the inside of his cheek while he rubs his flesh hand comfortingly up and down his daughter’s arm.
“You’re doing great, sweetie,” Natasha says. “What happened next?”
Becca nods. “Dr. Frost took us to the room where he hit Mommy. He wanted to know about “The Asset.” Mommy said that was Daddy.”
Bucky visibly tenses in his seat and makes eye contact with Natasha in front of her. She sends him a tense smile in hopes of providing some comfort.
“What did Dr. Frost want to know about your dad?” Steve chimes in. While Natasha sits in the chair directly across the table from Becca, where she sits in Bucky’s lap, Steve sits at the head of the conference table a few feet away.
Bucky had insisted that not too many people were in the room to question Becca when Steve finally convinced him to let the team talk to her.
“Buck, I know you don’t want her to have to think about it anymore, but if we’re going to stop Morozov and avenge Y/N, we need to talk to her. She’s the only one who knows anything, and we’re desperate for a lead here, pal.”
“He kept asking Mommy about words that didn’t work.”
“Do you know why he wanted to know that?” Steve pushes.
“Steve,” Bucky warns as he becomes exceedingly more uncomfortable with the interrogation of his daughter. Steve makes eye contact with Bucky, and the face he sends tells Bucky he has no intent to back down. But he’s sorry about it.
“They wanted to keep me,” Becca says, scrunching her face.
Bucky scrunches his own face in confusion, and anyone observing the pair would be able to note their resemblance on the facial expressions alone.
“What do you mean, honey?” Natasha asks tensely.
“I do not know,” Becca says, confusedly looking back up at her dad. “But Mommy got really angry and pulled the…” she trails off, searching for a word you’d taught her all those weeks before. “Handcuffs?” Becca says, continuing when Bucky nods, assuring that she is making sense. “Mommy pulled her handcuffs off the wall. They wanted her after that.”
The three adults look at each other, trying to make sense of Becca’s story. Nothing was adding up. If they wanted Becca to begin with, why would they stop? Why would they kill you just to return her?
“We were there for a long time after that. They hit Mommy a lot. They asked her to do something for them, but she said they had to give me back to Daddy.
“They took her away. When she came back, they hurt her until she stopped moving.”
Becca finishes her testimony, and the Avengers are nowhere closer to understanding what HYDRA was planning. Bucky, however, begins to think about all his daughter shared, and he thinks maybe—just maybe—they didn’t actually kill you.
A month goes by and Bucky Barnes insists his wife isn’t dead. His friends all insist he’s grieving, but he knows better. Something about Rebecca’s story just doesn’t add up, and he is sure there’s more going on than his daughter could possibly know.
He has taken to keeping to himself, only really talking to Becca, who he has diligently kept close to him at all times. So, when he is called in for a meeting for the first time since Rebecca’s rescue mission, he isn’t sure what to do. He settles for letting her sit in the briefing room with her headphones on, turning on a cartoon for her to watch. After she’s settled, he turns to the team.
“What do we got?” He asks, mouth held tensely in a thin line.
Then, with the flourish expected from the director of SHIELD, Nick Fury waltzes into the room, answering Bucky’s question as he goes.
“President Atkins was found dead in the presidential suite of the White House at 9 AM this morning,” he says, taking a seat at the head of the table. He presses his fingers together in a triangle formation, taking on an introspective look of sorts.
A wave of shock passes through the Avengers.
“If we’re all here,” Tony speaks up from his seat at the conference table, “it must not have been a natural death.” He says it as a statement, but it is a question.
“Exactly,” Fury confirms. “We’re not sure who or how, but someone is loose who is capable of breaking through top of the line security without being detected.”
“So, possibly inhuman? Alien?” Bruce muses from Tony’s right.
“Or, it’s a defected SHIELD agent,” a new voice speaks up.
The room’s attention is drawn to a darkened corner of the large conference room. Bucky squints to make out the figure of a man, and he is surprised he hadn’t noticed the stranger before. Then again, one doesn’t have to be on guard at all times when surrounded by Earth’s mightiest.
The faces of the original Avengers team are confused, and Bucky wonders if the stranger is someone they know.
Finally, the man steps forward.
“Sorry to scare you guys. I’ve just always wanted to do that. The light was out in the corner, and I just couldn’t help myself.”
“Coulson?” Steve asks surprised.
“You died in The Battle of New York,” Natasha says, shock evident in her voice.
“Only for a few minutes,” Coulson shrugs with a lighthearted grin.
“Where have you been?” Tony asks tensely.
“Tahiti. It’s a magical place,” Coulson says ominously and with a smile.
Steve, Tony, and Natasha share a look. Coulson makes eye contact with Bucky.
“Sargent Barnes, it’s a pleasure to meet you! You know, if you have a minute later, I have a trading card of you and,” Coulson rambles only to be cut off by Fury.
“Agent Coulson,” Fury says, quickly ending Coulson’s fanboying and placing the conversation back on track.
Coulson straightens up and nods, clearing his throat.
“Like Director Fury said, President Atkins was found dead in his room this morning. We have reasonable evidence to believe this was an assassination carried out by a former agent.”
“And what evidence is that?” Bucky asks, eyeing Becca in the corner to make sure she’s still occupied with her show.
“Well,” Coulson says, moving to grab the tablet sitting on the conference table. “After the death of the president, two more assassinations took place.
“The Secretary of Defense, Elizabeth Fitzgerald, was found deceased in her home at 11:26 AM, and the Director of Homeland Security, Antonio Smith, was found deceased in his office in the capital building at 12:58 PM.”
“Okay,” Sam speaks up for the first time since Bucky had arrived. “That still doesn’t explain what makes you think a former SHIELD agent is responsible.”
“I’m glad you asked,” Coulson says, turning to a screen on the wall to his right. He taps the tablet and security footage appears.
Bucky and the team—Steve, Tony, Bruce, Sam, Natasha, Wanda, and Clint—all turn their attention to the screen. Bucky thinks the camera is portraying the backside of the U.S. Capital Building—a camera meant to watch the perimeter.
“SHIELD received this video from a trusted source within the Capital earlier today,” Fury says, nodding for Coulson to play the footage.
The video plays, and seemingly nothing is out of the ordinary at first. The wind gently blows the grass far below the camera, and no one is walking on the pavement directly below the camera. Approximately 30 seconds into the video, though, the camera catches movement in the bottom right corner of the screen. A figure swiftly walks to the edge of the Capital’s platform, quickly looks back over their shoulder, and jumps off the platform.
“Wait, go back,” Tony says.
“Was that?” Wanda asks, looking warily at Natasha who nods to say she saw it, too.
“There’s no way,” Sam says, leaning forward in his seat as if to see the frozen frame better.
“So, when you said a former agent, you meant…” Clint trails off, looking at Fury and Coulson for confirmation.
Bruce sits next to Tony, hands clasped underneath his chin in thought, eyes trained on the screen, analyzing it.
Coulson and Fury nod, but before anyone else can say anything, Bucky speaks.
“It’s Y/N.”

It was rough. That's all you could think about. However, when anybody asked you, you never said it out loud. You didn't know why. You felt that maybe if you said it was a mutual decision, then things would be easier. It would make a bit of sense. But a part of you knew everybody saw right through your lies. How could it ever be easy?
Some time has passed since you signed the paper, making you officially divorced. Since there wasn't any big fallout between you and Bucky, you were able to settle everything without going to court. Bucky was already offering everything. He would be the one to move out, so you and the kids would stay in the house. And he was paying more than enough child support. The kids would spend the weekends with him as well. As said, there were no conflicts or arguments in the divorce except for your crushed feelings.
The arrangement was working. On weekdays, you had the kids. Bucky would call them daily. Then came the weekends when Bucky would have them. You were still adjusting. You never thought you would be a single parent. It's taking a lot from you to come to terms with your life now. You didn't have the luxury of time. You were a full-time mother along with your job. Your two children counted on you. They needed their mom to be focused and present. And you knew if you let yourself be, you wouldn't even leave the bed. So you bottled it up, kept it all in, acted as if you weren't dying every single day, and kept going on.
But seeing the man who broke your heart weekly wasn't making it any easier. You expected that it would only last for a while, and then Bucky would forget about the three of you. You were preparing for this. However, it never happened. He remained very present in the kids' lives. He kept in touch and knew everything about Lily and Theo. He even put so much effort into reminding the kids of his unceasing love for them.
He was still the best father you could have ever asked for your kids to have. He just couldn't be your husband anymore.
Tumblr media
You were cutting the fruits into star shapes, just like they liked it. Then, add them to the bowl next to the crackers and the cheese. Lily and Theo were always hungry when they got back from school. You were expecting them any second now. Bucky volunteered to pick them up today. Both of you had to stay in very close contact for the sake of your young kids. Even if it was so painful to see him, you were willing to go the extra mile. Because your kids were your top priority.
You heard the door opening and your children's voices speaking thousands of words a second. You already knew they would be so happy that Bucky was the one to pick them up. With him away five days a week, the kids were always missing him.
It's a mutual decision to let Bucky keep his key to the house. All decisions regarding the kids were mutual. Other than that, you weren't sure.
"How was your day, sweeties?" You asked aloud as both of them ran to you and hugged your waist.
"It was great. Miss Sally really liked my project." Lily couldn't hide her happiness. She had been putting her heart and soul into this project for sometimes now.
"I knew she would. I'm so proud of you, baby." You pressed a big kiss to her hair. Then you turned to your son to ask about his day.
"It was good. But Karl's mom wouldn't leave us to come home when she saw Daddy." Theo told you as you gave him a kiss on the cheek as well.
You should have expected that. Everyone knew about you and Bucky's divorce by now. By no competition, Bucky was every woman's crush. All the mothers and teachers never even tried to hide their crush on the man. And nobody could blame them. Along with his attractive looks and killer body, Bucky was incredible with Lily and Theo, a true hands-on father. He was also very successful at his job. He was the whole package. But he was yours. And you used to make it clear that you didn't take well to flirting with your husband.
Now, he's not your husband anymore. So you should know that women would be throwing themselves at him. Especially those who already liked him, like Karl's mother. You hadn't thought of this yet. The fact that Bucky is single now He could go out with any woman he desired. He could touch, kiss, sleep with, and even love any woman. Any woman but you.
You shook the idea out of your head quickly. You were in enough pain. You didn't need an addition. You sent the kids upstairs to change, and then they can have their snacks. You turned to look at Bucky, who was standing by the kitchen door in all his glory. It was clear he left to get the kids straight away from work. You always used to tell him how formal attire fitted him and brought out his best features. You frowned when you saw the look on his face. What was it?
"I have bad news." You tried to control your breathing. You weren't ready for any more blows to your face.
"Tony and Pepper are in town, and they want to meet up." You groaned in annoyance. It was better than you thought, but still bad.
Tony Stark and his then assistant, now wife, Pepper, were friends of yours. Not as close as others, but still friends. Tony was one of Bucky's most important business partners. You really liked them. They were good people. However, They were the most extravagant couple you had ever met. Not only were they inseparable, they always had a story to tell. An overtop story for sure. And if they wanted to meet, you would have to meet.
Which was exactly what led you to your current situation.
Sitting in the café, which was clearly Bucky's choice, and you were thankful for that. But you weren't thankful for anything else. Tony and Pepper had been talking nonstop; you couldn't remember for how long. There were so many stories about their work, their new big house, their dates, their trips, and the new intern, whom they clearly were adopting. The list didn't end.
You tried to pay attention; you really did. But you couldn't when you had only one thing in mind. The way Tony had been holding Pepper's hand ever since they got her, drawing circles on it Along with the glimpse you got from their stories, you couldn't help yourself.
Tony held the same reputation that Bucky once did. A ladies man A playboy. A man nobody thought would settle down. However, when Tony did settle down, no one questioned him, and no one warned Pepper about him. Nobody doubted them. You couldn't say the same for yourselves.
"So what about you, guys?" Pepper's voice broke your train of thought. You looked at her with a fake smile.
"Anything interesting?. An amazing trip? Maybe another baby?" You could feel the tears forming in your eyes and the pain rushing through your body at Pepper's question. You quickly got a grip on yourself and managed to look normal again.
"Actually." You turned to Bucky, hoping he would be the one to tell them.
"We got divorced." And he did.
In any other situation, Pepper's loud gasp and Tony spitting his drink on you would be very funny, but not when you were on the receiving end of it.
Bucky moved quickly to hand you tissues as Tony apologised profoundly, which you reassured him was okay.
"When did this happen?" Pepper asked as the shock wore off.
"About a month ago." You let Bucky do all the taking, not trusting your voice to speak.
Another loud gasp escaped the couple. Their reaction had to be the funniest of all the people to whom you told the news.
"We thought it wasn't going to happen." Pepper's quiet voice didn't miss you, giving her a questioning look.
"I mean, we all thought it would happen eventually, but after Theo, we thought that was it. You guys were in for life."
"Yeah. It was kind of really expected early on, but not anymore."
"We used to place bets on whether you were even going to get married or not. We all lost them when he proposed."
You were putting all your efforts into controlling your breathing and stopping the panic from taking over. And Bucky's lack of answer wasn't helping. Did he always have this in mind? To leave you?
You were thankful that Pepper changed the subject. It's better to hear about their overbearing stories than how everybody doubted your relationship from the start. How was it doomed from the beginning?
Did Bucky have answers to all of these questions? You couldn't tell. You weren't able to read the man sitting next to you anymore.
With all this on your mind, before you knew it, you were leaving with a promise to meet again. You and Bucky got in his car together. You kept a little conversation going between the two of you. However, you avoided Tony and Pepper's comments like the plague. And you didn't know if you liked it or not. Would it be better if you knew more?
You've reached your house. You thanked Bucky for the ride and got into the house. You found the house better than expected. Uncle Steve and Aunt Sharon kept things in order. You went to your babies and kissed their cheeks as they were all watching TV.
"Get ready, sweeties. Daddy wants to take you out." Of course, that is why Bucky dropped you off. He wanted to see the kids.
Your kids' very excited squeals were the only source of peace you had lately. They put on their shoes and left right away for Daddy, who was waiting outside.
"How were Tony and Pepper?" Sharon came to help you as you started tidying the living room.
"Great. Did you know Tony got Pepper a huge bunny for Christmas?" You laughed as you recalled one of the many bizarre stories they shared.
"As a matter of fact, I did." Sharon replied as she finished putting the toys in their box.
"We all did." Steve joined the two of you.
"Then you must have known that mine and Bucky's divorce was coming. Apparently, you all did." You didn't mean for it to be bitter. You didn't mean for it to come out at all. It just slipped. Your act cracking a bit.
Steve and Sharon shared a look. They didn't know what they could say. What could they tell you? That they all expected it. But not now. Not anymore. That the timing was the surprise, but not the split. However, was it worth making you feel like a fool who believed in the love of her life? It wasn't.
You quickly recovered and changed the subject. Anything they would say wouldn't make it better. And you weren't looking for answers from them. They stayed, and you chatted for a bit. Nothing too serious. Just filling time instead of being alone.
However, after saying your goodbye as they were about to leave, Steve called your name.
Would it ever stop hurting? Was this really the end to yours and Bucky's story?
"Whatever happened. I want you to know that you saved Bucky's life. You gave him a purpose."
You had to bite your lip to stop the breakdown. You couldn't decide whether Steve's words were enough condolences or if they were only fuel for your fire. All you could do was give him a small smile.

🏊 Coach Harrington
Steve Harrington x single!mom!reader
Warnings: single mom, pregnancy, fluff
Word count: ~2.4k
A/N: I wrote this after I saw a post from @mcueveryday asking about Steve x single mom reader fics! I really love writing for Steve, and I loved writing this story! I hope you all enjoy, and as always, please show love and support ❤️✨
Tumblr media
“Okay, five seconds more! Five! Four! Three! Two! One! And rest!”
Steve smiled proudly at his students. He originally wanted to be a swim coach for only one summer, but it soon turned into a career. He absolutely loved teaching kids of all ages how to swim, but his 3-5 class was his favorite. According to him, they were always the most enthusiastic group, and because the kids were so young, he had to keep the classes small to keep an eye on them. They were only a few lessons in, but some kids had already mastered treading water, which Steve was immensely proud of, not to mention relieved since it was his least favorite task.
“Okay, I think that’s all for today, kiddos,” Steve smiled. “Great work today! Go ahead and dry off and find your mommies and daddies.”
As Steve toweled off, receiving many soaked “thank you, coach Harrington!” hugs, he saw a familiar woman approach him. He gave a friendly smile, waved, and walked over. As he got closer, he realized it was Y/N, an old friend from high school.
“Hey, Y/N!” he said.
“Oh my gosh, Steve!” you said in surprise. “I didn’t know you were the coach Harrington!”
“You’ve heard of me?” Steve asked in surprise.
“Yeah, yeah! I’ve been trying so much to get Daisy—Daisy, honey, come on,” you said, lightly pushing your daughter from behind your legs, “I’ve been trying to get Daisy to learn how to swim, and nothing I’ve done has worked, so one of my mom friends suggested I come see you about classes.”
“Oh, wow,” Steve smiled, “I didn’t know that I was so famous! Hi, Daisy,” he said, kneeling down, “I’m coach Harrington, I used to go to school with your mommy.”
“Hi,” Daisy whispered.
“You look a lot like her,” Steve smiled, making Daisy hug your legs.
“I can’t believe you’ve got a daughter,” Steve said. “It feels like just yesterday that you and I were sharing notes in Mr. Hayden’s class.”
“I know, time is funny that way,” you smiled. “It’s good to see you, Steve.”
“It’s good to see you too,” Steve smiled back. “So, are you still with—”
“No, um, sorry to cut you off, but I can’t really discuss it with, you know,” you trailed off, looking down at Daisy.
“Oh, I’m very sorry,” Steve apologized, but you shook your head.
“Don’t worry about it at all,” you smiled, looking at Steve. He looked back at you, a bit of blush appearing on his cheeks, then he snapped himself back to reality.
“Swimming lessons!” he yelled.
“Right, right, swimming lessons, the whole point of me coming here,” you said, feeling a bit foolish.
“It’s easy to get caught up in nostalgia,” he smiled. “But for lessons, we’re only about three lessons in, so Daisy can join this class if she wants,” he offered. “And I can also meet with you both sometime this week to catch her up before the next class.”
“That would be great, thank you, Steve,” you smiled, holding his arm. “So, when are the class?”
“Every Tuesday at four.”
“Okay, I think we can make that work,” you smiled, looking at Daisy. “I’m actually Daisy’s teacher, so we can leave right after school’s done.”
“You’re a teacher? That’s so great, Y/N,” Steve smiled. “What grade do you teach?”
“Kindergarten,” you said.
“Kindergarten, huh?” Steve said, kneeling down to Daisy again. “So, how old would that make you, Daisy bud?” he asked sweetly, making Daisy giggle.
“She’s a sucker for nicknames,” you chuckled. “Tell him, sweetie,” you encouraged.
“Five,” Daisy said quietly.
“Five years old! That’s a great age to be,” Steve smiled.
“How old are you?” Daisy asked Steve, her big eyes sparkling.
“I’m 26,” Steve replied.
“Just like Mommy!” Daisy exclaimed.
“Yes! Mr. Harrington went to school with Mommy,” you said. “He was really nice!”
“Your mommy has always been very kind,” he winked at you, “and smart too! Your mommy was the smartest girl in her class.”
“Wow,” Daisy gasped, looking up at you in awe. You kissed her forehead softly, then looked back at Steve.
“I’m still just as unathletic though. Between you and me, I still don’t know how to swim properly.”
“Well, I can teach you!” Steve offered.
“Really? I feel like it would be so embarrassing!” you said bashfully.
“We can make it a private Mommy and Me class! Only if you want to, of course,” Steve said.
“You’d really do that for us?” you asked quietly.
“Of course I would,” Steve said quickly. “You’ve always been kind to me, it’s about time I paid you back.”
“Well, thank you, Steve. But, I-I don’t have a lot of money—”
“It’s free.”
“I couldn’t, Steve—”
“It would be my pleasure, really,” Steve said, holding your arm. “Please, I want to.”
You sighed as you looked down at Daisy, who was playing with the zipper on your bag. You brushed her hair back softly and looked at Steve, whose eyes were warmly fixed on you. How could that look still have power almost a decade after being in high school?
“Okay, let’s do it.”
-🏊-
“There are my girls!” Steve smiled as he stood by the pool. Daisy released your hand and ran over to Steve, who picked her up and twirled her around.
You both had been taking lessons from Steve for two months now, and it had provided you and Steve plenty of time to reconnect. For the most part, he was a brand new guy; he was sweet, caring, and hardworking, but he was just as handsome as always. What struck you most, though, was his relationship with Daisy. In all of your lessons, he was patient, understanding, and clearly loved being with kids. You thought that maybe he was just being nice to Daisy for your sake, but when you not-so coincidentally visited the pool the same days as his other lessons, you soon realized that he loved every single kid he taught. No one was deprived of his attention. One day, you decided to ask him about it.
“So, you really love kids, don’t you?” you said as you helped Daisy fix her water wings so she could swim around on her own.
“I really do,” Steve chuckled. “I blame it all on Dustin Henderson, actually.”
“How in the world?” you laughed.
“Well, he sort of latched? Onto me when he was thirteen or something. You go through life and all the sucky things, and I sort of turned into a babysitter for him and his little friends. Then, they grew up, but I wanted that feeling back, that feeling that I’m needed by the kids. So many kids need a parental figure that’s not going to be judgmental or overbearing. My parents were like that, and it was miserable. I just want to bring some joy to my kids’ lives, you know?”
“I totally understand, Steve. It’s hard to keep this little one happy all the time,” you said, poking Daisy’s side. “But that’s really great, I’m glad you’ve found your calling. The kids obviously love you—I mean, Daisy, Daisy loves you,” you stumbled.
“Well, don’t tell the other kids, but Daisy’s my favorite,” he smirked. “And I like her mom, too,” he winked, making you blush.
“Do you, now?” you asked, trying to be flirty.
“Yeah,” he admitted. “Not exactly the best time to tell you, but, hey, I thought I’d be honest.”
“Well, I like my daughter’s swim coach, so,” you trailed off, smirking.
“Don’t tell him, it’ll go to his head,” he chuckled.
“Mm, well, he better prepare for this, because I was going to ask him if he’d like to come over for dinner tonight.”
“Oh, really?” he asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Well, Daisy asked, so don’t let your ego get too big.”
“Are you kidding me? Daisy bud asking me is so much cooler,” Steve joked. “I’m never going to live that down, I’m walking on air. Did you hear that, Daisy bud? I’m coming over for dinner!”
“Yay!” Daisy yelled, making a big wave that splashed on your face. Steve chuckled as he went to move the hair out of your face, his laughs soon softening as he looked at you longingly.
“Sorry, Mommy, you’re still pretty,” Daisy said bashfully.
“She sure is, Daisy bud,” Steve smiled.
-🏊-
You fiddled with your outfit as you waited for Steve to arrive. Daisy had already decided on her outfit, wanting to wear a bright green tutu with her favorite t-shirt, a striped one with a dog on it. She added a pair of jean shorts, rain boots, and a hat with bear ears, and you really had never seen her look better. You loved her fun, individual style, and she was the cutest child you had ever seen, in your not-so-biased opinion. You, on the other hand, were just settling on your fifth outfit when you heard your doorbell ring. Smoothing out your blouse, you ran downstairs to open the door. Steve was standing there, holding two small packages and a bouquet of flowers.
“Hey there,” he smiled. “These are for you,” he said, handing you the flowers.
“Oh, Steve, thank you so much,” you said, kissing his cheek. “Come in.”
“Mr. Harrington!” Daisy squealed, running to hug his knees.
“Hey, little one,” he chuckled. “Here’s something for you,” he said as he handed her one of the small packages. She opened it up to see a fuzzy stuffed rabbit, which made her squeal again.
“Thank you, Mr. Harrington, thank you!”
“Of course, Daisy bud. And hey, you can call me Steve if you want.”
Daisy blushed as she hid herself in Steve’s knees again.
“Well, you two can hang out while I finish up dinner, if that’s okay,” you said, looking at Steve.
“Oh, absolutely! Daisy bud and I have plenty to discuss, and she promised me she’d show me The Big Comfy Couch show.”
“You’ll enjoy that,” you smiled.
“Oh, and this is for after dinner,” Steve smiled, handing you the other package. “Made it myself,” he said happily.
“Blueberry pie, wow! Thank you,” you smiled.
“Of course. Now, go ahead and do what you need to. I’m off to my happy place,” he chuckled, holding Daisy’s outstretched hand. You giggled to yourself and walked into the kitchen.
You soon finished preparing dinner, and as you passed by to set the table in the dining room, you saw Steve looking down with intense concentration. You set the plates down and walked over to them, hearing their conversation.
“And then I have to put glitter on so that we can match,” Daisy said quietly as Steve nodded. You felt your heart melt as you saw Steve gently painting Daisy’s nails, messy polish all over his own. As you walked over, they both looked up at you excitedly.
“We’re becoming beautiful,” Steve beamed.
“Mommy, you have to match us too!” Daisy exclaimed, holding her hands up to see.
“Wow, Steve is better at nails than Mommy,” you chuckled. “You guys are adorable, I can barely stand it!”
“Steve, will you paint Mommy’s nails?” Daisy asked.
“Maybe after dinner, if Mommy wants me to,” Steve smiled, looking up at you.
“It would be a pleasure,” you replied. “I haven’t had a decent manicure in years.”
“You deserve it,” Steve said, smirking.
“You deserve it, Mommy!” Daisy giggled.
“Okay, my little cuckoo bird, go ahead and get yourself cleaned up for dinner,” you said, holding her hand. “I think your nails are dry enough, but be careful, okay?”
“Okay, Mommy,” Daisy smiled as she hopped off of the couch. You took her place and sat down in front of Steve. He held up his pink glitter-polished hands for you to see.
“She’s going places,” he chuckled.
Without thinking, you leaned forward and kissed Steve, holding the side of his face with your hand. It was long, passionate, and an explosion of your emotions. He kissed back, leaning forward towards you, and you could feel him start to smile. As you broke away, he let out a soft laugh.
“I don’t know where that came from,” you said apologetically. “I just—you’re just so great with Daisy and me and—I  just—haven’t felt this much love from someone in a while. It’s so hard being on my own with Daisy, and it gets lonely at times, and I just want to find someone who cares for both of us the way you do and I—”
Steve held your face and kissed you again, deeply. A tear fell down your cheek as you returned the kiss, feeling overwhelmed with love.
“I never thought that I’d be able to find this kind of love either,” Steve said. “I’ve always felt like such a failure, like no one wants me—”
“You’re not a failure,” you whispered.
“You and Daisy make me feel like I’ve won the lottery,” Steve said, holding your face. “I know that Daisy isn’t my own, but the more I get to know her, the more I want to be in her life. And I really want to be in your life too, Y/N. What do you say?”
You kissed Steve again, softer this time.
“Yes.”
🏊 -Two Years Later-
“So, what color?” Steve asked, holding up four polishes for you to see.
“I think I’d like the dark blue please,” you smiled.
“I couldn’t have selected a better one myself,” he said cheerfully, then began to paint your toenails. Daisy walked over with her favorite glitter polish and rested her hands on your very pregnant belly.
“Mommy? Will you paint my nails please?”
“Of course, sweetheart! It’ll be like a nail polish train,” you said, making you both giggle.
“But who will paint Daddy’s nails?” she asked with concern.
“Mm, maybe you can paint them when I’m done with yours?” you suggested.
“Okay!” she giggled, handing you her polish.
As you and Steve finished up, Daisy gave you a hug, admiring her new nails. Steve closed the polish bottle and grabbed your hands, pulling you closer to him.
“Payment!” he said, puckering up. You laughed, kissing him softly.
“Okay, Daddy, time for your nails! What do you want this time?” Daisy said, pulling her box of manicure equipment closer to him.
“Hmm, can I just have some stickers please?” he said, looking at the stickers with little fruit on them.
“Sure!” Daisy said cheerily. “Payment?” she asked, making Steve chuckle. He kissed her forehead, then pulled her in for a hug.
“I love you, my Daisy bud.”
“I love you too, Daddy.”

Game Night
Summary: Jazz decides to make things better in the best way she can think of.
...
So Danny fought Vlad without her, and Jazz is a little annoyed by it.  Sure, things have been a little awkward between them lately, but she knows for a fact that she never gave the impression that she’s done helping her brother.  She’ll never be done helping her brother.  When did she have to start trying to prove that?
Well, whatever.  Either way, she’s not letting Danny do this alone.  And if he’s not letting her help with fights and he’s not letting her help with his friends who are being real jerks, that leaves one area left Jazz can reasonably put some effort into.
“Hey, Mom?  Dad?”
Mom turns from the invention she’s tinkering with and gives Jazz a smile.  “Hi, sweetie!  Did you just get home?  How was school?”
Jazz nods in response to her question, then says, “School was good.  I was wondering if I could talk to you and Dad about something?”
“Sure Princess, what’s going on?” Dad says, moving over to stand next to Mom.
Jazz takes a breath, readying herself for how little Danny’s probably going to like this.
“Do you think we could start having a family game night?” she asks.
Both of her parents look surprised and a little caught off guard, and Jazz can’t blame them.  Her request probably sounds like it comes out of nowhere.  If Danny were here, he’d probably be staring at her like she’s crazy too.
“A family game night?” Mom asks, sounding confused but not against the idea, which is a good start.
“I’ve just noticed we’re all super busy most of the time,” Jazz says, keeping her tone casual.  “You guys are ghost hunting or working here in the lab, Danny and I have school and homework, we just haven’t seen much of each other recently.  I thought it would be nice to have something consistent we can all look forward to doing together.”
Mom brightens, and Jazz knows she’s succeeded.
“Oh sweetie, that’s a wonderful idea,” she says.  “Did you have a night in mind?”
“I was thinking Fridays,” Jazz says.  “That way Danny and I won’t have to worry about any homework right away, and it’ll be right before the weekend for you guys too.”  And Danny can stay up as late as he needs to for ghost fighting and sleep in the next day, Jazz adds on in her head.
“That sounds like a great plan Jazzo,” Dad calls happily.
“Do you want to pick out some games tomorrow?” Mom asks.  “I don’t know if we have many in the house.”
“I’ll pick some up after school,” Jazz says.  “I have a few ideas.”
“Thanks sweetie, that would be lovely.  I’m looking forward to it,” Mom says with a bright smile, and Jazz gives one back before heading back out of the lab and letting them get back to worth.
She glances at the oven clock in the kitchen as she passes and notes that she still has a couple hours before Danny comes home.  He apparently missed Nasty Burger with his friends yesterday, so they’re making it up today.  Jazz hasn’t had a chance to ask him what happened yet, but he seemed happier when he got home from school, so she can’t really object.
For now, she heads up to her room to do her homework as she runs over the plan again in her mind.  It’s not a short one, and it’s probably not going to run totally smoothly.  Especially if she doesn’t get a chance to talk to Danny about it first.
But she can do that either while they’re out patrolling tonight or in the car ride tomorrow, depending on how busy it is.  Figuring out when to do it is the easy part.  The hard part’s going to be convincing him.
“What?  No way,” Danny says, predictably.  He turns to look at her from his seat.  “Are you crazy?”
“It can’t go that badly,” Jazz says, giving him a quick glance before refocusing her attention on the road.
“Jazz.  Seriously.  Did you decide to tempt the fates today?  ‘It can’t go that badly?’  What are you talking about?  Of course it can go badly!”
“That’s not what I meant,” Jazz says.  “I mean there’s a limit to how bad it can go when we’re doing all the talking to them without you going ghost.  Without bringing Phantom into it at all.”
“Oh, so instead of hearing them talk about how they want to dissect me specifically, I can hear them talk about how they want to dissect ghosts in general!  That’s so much better!”
Jazz doesn’t say anything for a second.  Danny seems to get that she’s not done, though, and after a second he turns to her.  “What?”
“It’s not… fair,” Jazz says slowly.  “But I think it’s pretty clear at this point that they’re not going to change their minds on their own.  We’ve got to bring it up first.  Even if it’s uncomfortable.”
“And we have to do this now, why?”
Jazz doesn’t say anything again.  She’s pretty sure he’s not going to take “I want at least one part of your life to be not terrible” as an answer.
“You should really try it,” she says instead.  “I’ll do most of the talking.  Just give it a shot.”
She can feel Danny glare at her, even if she doesn’t look away from the road.  “Well considering you pitched it as a family bonding activity, I doubt Mom’s going to let me get out of it on pain of death, so I’m going to have to, aren’t I?”
Jazz sighs.  “I really think it’s a good idea,” she says.
“Oh, well, as long as you think so,” Danny says, turning to glare out the window.  He goes on to not say anything to her for the rest of the drive, and gets out of the car and heads immediately for the school as soon as Jazz stops and pulls into a spot in the parking lot.
Jazz sighs and turns the car off, then climbs out to head into school.
Danny seems a little less irritated by the idea on the drive home that afternoon, but Jazz can’t tell if that’s because she hasn’t brought it up yet, and she’d rather not tempt fate.  So instead, she asks if he has plans for the weekend now that he’s not grounded anymore.  And this is when Danny throws her a curveball.
“Actually, yeah,” he says.  “I’m going to the park with Valerie Gray.”
Jazz gives him a quick surprised glance before turning back to the road.  “Valerie Gray?” she asks.  The park part of that plan is more than a little confusing too, but less confusing than who he’s doing it with.  She hadn’t thought the two of them were even the tiniest bit aware of each other, aside from that time Danny accidentally ruined Valerie’s life.  (Which he still hasn’t let go of, to Jazz’s annoyance.)
“Yeah,” Danny says.  “We ran into each other totally by accident yesterday after the fight with Vlad, and then we just kind of… hung out together, by accident mostly.  But it was fun, so we’re doing it again.”
Jazz smiles.  So that’s what he did instead of the park.
“That’s great,” she says, keeping her gaze on the road but making sure Danny can see her smile.  “I didn’t realize that’s what you did instead of Nasty Burger.”
But then Danny goes quiet again, and Jazz knows she’s said the wrong thing.
“That’s not what I meant,” she says.  “I just meant, I’m glad to see you’re having fun with someone.”
Danny sighs.  “I know what you meant,” he mutters, and at least he doesn’t sound angry.
Jazz sighs and doesn’t say anything else.
Being this direct with Danny would definitely be a bad idea, but Sam and Tucker are pissing her off.  They don’t have to like Phantom, that’s fine.  (Mostly.  Not at all.  It’s not fine, but that’s not the point.)  From what little Danny says about Sam and Tucker these days, it seems to be all they talk about now.  And Jazz can tell it’s getting to her little brother.
Because of course it is.  His closest friends spend all of their time together angrily ranting about how much Danny sucks, of course it’s getting to him.
If it wouldn’t just make things much worse, Jazz would give the two a giant sister-sized smack upside the head.
Danny doesn’t say anything else until they arrive at home, and Jazz doesn’t try and fill the silence.  But for as much she doesn’t want him to constantly be thinking about Game Night, she doesn’t want him to forget it either.  So as they both walk into the house and Danny starts for the stairs, Jazz weighs her options, then calls out, “Don’t forget we’re having our first game night after dinner!”
Danny shoots her a glare, but it’s a little less angry than the ones she got this morning, so Jazz counts it as a win and heads over to look through the board game selection she picked up yesterday.
She’ll save the chessboard for her and Mom, as she doesn’t imagine Danny or Dad would take to it as well as the two of them would.  Danny and Dad would definitely like Battleships more than them, but it’s a two person game anyway, so she sets that aside too.  The games she bought that would work for four people are Uno, Sorry, and Yahtzee, and out of the three, the last one sounds like the one it’ll be easiest to have a conversation over.  So she sets the other two aside as backups and sets up Yahtzee on the coffee table.
Then she heads upstairs to finish her homework, knowing she has an hour or so before Mom will call her and Danny down for dinner.
She doesn’t need much time to finish her homework, but she’s already settled on a game plan, leaving her with not much to do for several hours.  So, even though she definitely won’t need them tonight, she starts piling through the evidence she’s been collecting on the consciousness and psychology of ghosts.
It’s slow going, especially considering most ghosts aren’t exactly the type to stop and chat about how their brains work, but Jazz is getting somewhere.  She’s seen enough from Danny to thoroughly discard the “ghosts are malicious monsters who somehow also have no consciousness and can’t feel pain” theories that her parents have been working under.  But she doesn’t have much in regards to an alternative theory, especially in scientific ways.  She’ll get laughed out of the room by her parents if she shows them what she has to disprove their theory with no idea what’s actually happening.
But she doesn’t want to start asking invasive questions to Danny about how his brain works.  He has enough going on.
So, she’ll move slowly.  Let her parents discover the flaws in the theory themselves.
Hopefully.
“Jazz, Danny, dinner’s ready!” Mom calls up the stairs, and Jazz drops her notebook, startled.
“Yep, be right there Mom!” she calls back.  She pulls open her desk drawer, jimmies up the fake bottom, and slips her notebook inside it, then heads out and towards the steps.
Danny’s leaving his room the same time she is, and he gives Jazz one last glare but follows her down the stairs.
Mom is setting stove-grilled burgers out on the table, and miracle of miracles, none of them are glowing green this time.  After that she goes back to get cups with ice water, and Dad is setting silverware by everyone’s place for the slightly burnt potatoes that were cooked with the burgers.  It looks like a surprisingly appetizing dinner, and Jazz can tell Danny thinks so too as he sits down next to her.
“I thought I should make something a little fancy for tonight to celebrate our first game night!” Mom says in explanation as she sits down at her place with the last cup.  “Thanks for the great idea, Jazz!”
Jazz gives a smile that hopefully doesn’t come off as nervous.  She told Danny she’ll do most of the talking, and she will, but that doesn’t mean she’s not nervous about it.
“Thanks Mom,” she says.  “It’ll be nice to have something to look forward to at the end of the week.”
“I think so too Jazzercise,” Dad says with a grin at her.  “Though I still think a family ghost hunt would have been more fun.”
“No,” Jazz and Danny both say at the same time.
“The kids are right dear,” Mom says, patting him on the shoulder.  “We shouldn’t bring work into fun times with them, even if work is fun.”
“Exactly, a good work life balance is very important,” Jazz says, gripping her hands together tightly under the table.  “But actually, on the subject of ghosts—”
She ignores Danny’s not-so-subtle glare at her as both of her parents turn to her.
“You guys were in that fight downtown last night, right?” Jazz asks.  “With that dog ghost?”
“That was us, sweetie, thanks for noticing!” Mom says.  “But luckily it didn’t hurt anyone.  Calmed right down once Phantom showed up.  But we’ll have to keep an eye out, who knows what he’s planning on making it do—”
“Yeah that’s great Mom,” Jazz cuts her off, before she can start going off on a tangent about Phantom’s evil plans.  “But why didn’t it hurt anyone, do you think?”
Jazz sees Danny roll his eyes in her peripheral, and ignores him again.
“Oh I haven’t the slightest idea sweetheart,” Mom says.  “But ghosts don’t think logically like you and me.  It could be anything really.”
“Yeah, as long as we manage to capture it, who cares what it’s thinking?” Dad says, taking off half of his burger with a bite.
Jazz sighs.  “But don’t you think—” she starts, and is interrupted by Danny pushing back from the table and muttering something about suddenly not feeling well.
“Are you okay, sweetie?” Mom calls after him.
“Fine!” Danny snaps, which is when Jazz knows she shouldn’t follow him just yet.
Instead, she turns back to Mom and Dad as soon as he’s vanished up the stairs.  “I think it wasn’t hurting people because it’s a dog,” she says plainly.  “A well trained one.  And it didn’t want to.”
“That’s a nice thought, Princess,” Dad says.  “But it’s still a ghost.  It’s dangerous.”
“So are normal dogs under the right circumstances,” Jazz says firmly.  “And didn’t you say it calmed down once Phantom showed up?  The same way a dog might if it saw its owner?”
“It’s still different from a human and a normal dog, sweetie,” Mom says.  “But I can see why you’d think that.”
“Can you think about it then?” Jazz asks.  “If you see where I’m coming from?  Can you consider it?”
Mom sighs, seeming a mix of amused and exasperated.  But then she says, “Alright sweetie, I’ll give it some thought.  But I still think you’re looking at this wrong.”
Jazz nods anyway.  Honestly, that’s probably about the best she could have expected.  “Thank you,” she says.
The rest of dinner is more lighthearted, and they talk about more basic stuff.  Jazz mentions the math test she aced last week, and Dad gives her a beaming smile and ruffles her hair just enough to be annoying.  Mom mentions the new invention she’s working on, and Jazz listens to the science while also making mental notes of any way it could hurt Danny.  The food is actually edible and surprisingly good for once, so Jazz can enjoy it.
But as the dinner starts to wrap up, Mom mentions that Danny still hasn’t come down, and stands up with a mention that she’ll go find him.
“I got him Mom!” Jazz calls.  She hops up immediately and heads off towards the stairs before Mom can protest.
She knocks on Danny’s door and calls out his name so he’ll know it’s her.  She waits a couple seconds, and Danny jerks the door open, though he doesn’t exactly look thrilled to see her.
He grabs her arm and pulls her inside, then slams the door shut behind them.
“Happy now?” he hisses, turning to face her.  And for all that he’s keeping his voice down, it does nothing to hide how angry he is.  “Are you satisfied?  Do you get yet that no one’s ever going to change their mind?”
“They said they’d think about it,” Jazz points out.
Danny blinks, seeming surprised for a second, then narrows his eyes.  “Because they see your point or because they’re humoring you?”
Jazz doesn’t say anything, and Danny rolls his eyes.  “That’s what I thought.”
“Danny, they’re not going to start by immediately accepting that they’re wrong,” Jazz says.  “That’s not how people change their minds.  Especially with things they believe in as strongly as our parents believe this stuff about ghosts.”
“Oh well that’s great, because I totally have the time and energy to put towards changing their minds slowly!” Danny snaps, before pausing and lowering his voice again.  “Let me just take a break from all the ghost fighting and homework I’m constantly drowning in and best friends who hate me and new Huntress sidekicks who want to kill me!  I’m sure I’ve got plenty of time in between all that!”
Jazz blinks, caught off guard.  “New Huntress sidekicks?  When did that happen?”
“That’s not the point,” Danny snaps.  “Look, Mom and Dad are so far down on my list of priorities right now it’s ridiculous.  And I would love to not have to also deal with them bad mouthing Phantom even more than they already do!  I get enough of that from Sam and Tucker!”
Jazz sighs.  “Okay,” she agrees.  “You’re right, I’m sorry.”
Danny blinks.  “Huh?”
“You’re right, it’s not fair for you to have to deal with it.  I’ll talk to them on my own.”
Danny groans and drops his head into his hands.  “Ugh, no!   That’s not— I don’t want you to bother at all, Jazz!  It could just as easily make things worse!”
“It could also make things better,” Jazz says.  “I know what I’m doing, Danny.  I know how to talk to Mom and Dad.”
Danny scoffs and glares away, muttering something that sounds like “Why do I even bother.”
“Come on, no more ghost talk tonight.  Let’s go play a board game.”
Danny looks up at her incredulously.  “You were serious about that?”
“Yes,” Jazz says.  “It’s important for you to have some time where you can just relax and do things you enjoy.”
“Stop therapizing me,” Danny says.
“Good luck with that,” Jazz says plainly, and Danny groans.
“You gonna come play games with us?” Jazz asks.  “I actually think Mom and Dad are looking forward to it.  And I’m sure they’ll let you finish your dinner first.”
Danny glares at her, then mutters, “Fine.  But no ghosts, I mean it.”
“No ghosts,” Jazz agrees, holding up her hand.  “I swear.”
Danny sighs, sounding irritated and exhausted, but when Jazz heads out of the room a second later he follows her out, which is a start.

When they heard the keys in the front door, both Steve and Eddie stood up from the floor where they had been listening to records.
Sure enough, in walked two adults whose facial features had undeniably been mixed together to create Steve Harrington. His dad, despite being in a casual suit, gave the sense that he was at a golf course business meeting, somehow. Eddie wasn't even sure he had known that was a thing before seeing Mr. Harrington, but now he was sure of it. He looked significantly less intimidating than Eddie had imagined.
Steve clearly got his eyes and his lips from his mom. She was pretty in a secretary way, Eddie decided. She seemed the more serious of the two, though she didn't seem mean, either, just preoccupied with handling things. She had the keys and had immediately started placing their suitcases into the front closet to keep them out of the entryway.
"Mom, dad, you're home!"
"Yes, but unfortunately I have to be in Detroit the day after tomorrow. Sorry, champ, I know we've been busy lately. How's school?"
Eddie glanced at Steve, who answered without hesitation.
"School is really good, I'm making good grades."
"Great! That's great, sweetie! Now, Stephen, who is your friend here?" Mrs. Harrington asked.
"Mom, dad, this is my friend Edward."
Eddie straightened his posture to better look like an Edward instead of an Eddie.
"Nice to meet you, Edward. Now you're not letting this little fashion bring your grades down, are you?" She asked, gesturing to his outfit.
Steve glanced at Eddie casually, but Eddie could tell he was internally screaming for him to play along, talk himself up, play the role, so he did.
"No ma'am! Straight A's."
"That is really excellent, Edward!" Mr. Harrington enthused. "I'm glad you can be a good influence on our boy. Say, it's getting kind of late, would you boys like to have a slumber party?"
"Yes, Mr. Harrington, I'd like that!"
"Great. Now make sure to call your parents. Steven, can you show Edward the way to your room so he can use the phone in there?"
Eddie had to take a very slow deep breath to keep from smiling or laughing.
His parents made them a pizza and gave them sodas and told them they could stay up until midnight as a treat.
Once they were safely locked away in Steve's room and heard his parents go off to bed, the two burst out laughing.
"Dude, how old do your parents think you are? How do they not remember you graduated?"
"Man, I don't know, they've treated me like I was fifteen since I WAS fifteen! And they didn't go to my graduation, I never mentioned it and they never noticed. They aren't bad parents, they're just really preoccupied with their own lives and forgetful about things that aren't work-related. I don't think it will ever occur to them to count how old I am by my birth year, if they actually remember it. It's fine, though. I'll milk it for a while and then move out maybe."
"I nearly lost it when you had to show me to your room," Eddie said, laughing as he opened the top dresser drawer and took out a pair of his own boxers to sleep in. Then he got out one of his own shirts from the second drawer and tossed one of Steve's to him. They brushed their teeth together in Steve's bathroom, each with their own toothbrushes that lived side by side in their holder. Once they were ready for sleep, Steve and Eddie climbed into bed on their usual sides and immediately moved to meet in the middle like they had done hundreds of times before.
"Nice room you've got here," Eddie jokingly commented.
"Idiot. Hey, I love you. Thanks for playing along for my parents."
"No problem, sweetheart. They aren't as scary as I imagined them."
"Yeah, no, they're just kinda dumb and self centered, but they have their own lives."
Eddie wanted to say that kids are supposed to be a big part of parents' lives, but he didn't want to point out to Steve what he was missing, he couldn't burst this bubble. He would just have to be here for Steve if that bubble ever popped and Steve realized the truth of how shitty they were. Instead, Eddie just pulled Steve in for a tight hug.

Pairing: Miguel O'Hara x Female OC
Words: 5.3K+

Summary: After a lovely dinner with her mother, Lisa blinks and it's time to perform for Marvel Day!
Special thanks to my friend Tikoy on discord for beta reading!
///////
“Oh, I’m so excited for your show! You know, growing up she was a huge fan of all those comic book superhero type things,” Janet smiled.
After exploring the different vendors and stalls for the first day of Marvel Day, by sundown, Miguel and I treated my mother to dinner at a nearby restaurant. The food was great, and thankfully it seemed like my mother had taken my words to heart, making an effort to talk to Miguel. As the night progressed, the pair seemed to be hitting it off so far and I was very relieved.
Keeping his true identity a secret, Miguel went with the original cover story we came up with back when we were chatting with the police after the first fight with Chameleon. Miguel explained to my mother that he worked with an indie tech company outside of the city, and that due to his office’s grueling schedule, we both talked it over and decided instead of ‘driving’ back home whenever we did have time together, I offered for Miguel to spend the night at my place to let him rest. He left out the vise versa of me staying with him at his place, as he sympathized with my mother’s worry about dating again, and we both agreed the idea of me traveling to another dimension to spend it with a guy would definitely freak her out even more.
“Oh, I’ve noticed,” Miguel offered me a side eye’d glance with a smug grin. “A certain comic collection?”
“It was just the one time, Miguel,” I rolled my eyes as I played with my food.
“Oh are they about that one guy. . . The one who wore a suit and flew around. You know, the guy they got to play him for the movie was very handsome, though nothing like you, Miguel!” my mother mused happily, her eyes widening at the idea of her daughter’s old childhood interest resurfacing. “What was his name sweetie?”
I thought I was going to faint as my cheeks flushed, elbows on the table as my hands covered my face to block out Miguel’s teasing expression. “Tony Stark’s Iron Man, mom. . . Robert Downey Jr.,”
“Really now?” Miguel raised a curious brow, sipping his wine.
“Yes, that’s the one! Lisa had a massive crush on him growing up,” Lisa’s mom giggled.
“Mom!!” Lisa gawked at her.
“We all did, dear, it’s nothing to be ashamed of,” Janet reassured me with a motherly grin. “Honestly, I personally think the films have gone down hill since they killed him off.”
“Ah, ah, careful mom,” I pointed a cautious finger at her, my lips forming a playful grin. “Even the walls have ears.”
While I’m pretty sure she was safe and the chances of other patrons in the restaurant having also come from Marvel Day were slim, I relished in the little friendly payback I got when my mother had quickly glanced around to see if anyone had heard her. As I continued eating my dinner, I couldn’t shake off the feeling I was being watched.
“On that note, I’m going to make a quick trip to the ladies room,” Janet excused herself from the table, sitting up before she scurried across the room.
When she left, I was reaching for my wine glass when I sneaked a glance at Miguel and noticed him staring. “What?”
“Are you alright?” He asked me.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” I shrugged, rolling my shoulders as I adjusted my posture. “I’m used to my mom embarrassing me by now,”
A ghost of a smile coursed through Miguel’s lips before they thinned into a firm line. “I was referring to your friends,”
“My friends?” I repeated, turning to face him as I lowered my fork.
“You were practically glued to your phone earlier today while we were at the hotel until your mother snapped you back into reality,” Miguel gently reminded me, although his voice carried a stern demeanor. “Plus I noticed them leaving you while I waited in line to grab the coffee, especially Kasey.”
My expression softened into a saddened state as my back hunched. “Right, that. . .”
“Lisa, is everything alright with your friends?” Miguel asked me,with concern, his arm reaching out to rest along the back of my chair.
“Mostly, yeah, it’s just Kasey I’m worried about. . .” I sighed, staring down at my plate.
“Have you two not spoken since your fight the other day?” Miguel asked, his voice gentle as he tried to not sound overly probing.
I sighed again, deeper this time. “No,”
Miguel shared his own sigh, shaking his head. “Alright, I know I asked this earlier, but. . . what did Kasey say to you during your fight?”
My pupils went wide at the question, and if I wasn’t already hunched over and we weren’t out in public, I would have curled up into a ball right there and then. “It’s embarrassing. . .”
“Perhaps, but I can tell that it’s clearly been bothering you,” Miguel stated. “Come on, Mona, you’ve always said I can talk to you, so let me return the favor for a change,”
I was hesitant at first, humming in disarray as my gaze flickered between our plates on the table. Long fingers curled around my chin as Miguel gently coaxed me to look up right at him, his thumb brushing along my skin. The look he gave me made me feel like I was going to melt into a puddle.
“Talk to me, mi corazon,” His voice pleaded softly. - my sweetheart
I gulped as his hand lowered from my chin. “Just. . . promise me you won’t freak out?”
His pupils dilated, his head pulling back slightly as if to process my request. He nodded. “I promise,”
“Okay,” I nodded gently, looking around briefly to make sure my mother wasn’t coming back yet. “Well. . .”
I leaned in closer towards him and Miguel reciprocated, angling his head so he could hear me over the bustling chatter of the restaurant.
“Kasey asked me. . . if ‘it was that good’,” I whispered to him, recalling the memory in my mind as I cringed at the thought.
I could literally sense the moment it registers in Miguel’s mind, the meaning behind those words. His cheeks turn red, whether from anger or being flustered, I couldn’t tell exactly as Miguel pulled away. His fingers curled into the wooden chair, taking a deep breath to compose himself. “Now I understand. . .”
“Are you mad?” I asked him nervously, reaching a hand out to engulf my hand over his in a comforting manner. “Please say no. . .”
Miguel managed one more calming breath, breathing through his nose as his eyes closed shut before opening again. There was the tiniest flicker of his brown eyes shifting to red then back to brown again. “I’m not mad, Lisa, just. . . upset that you went through that alone,”
A small weight was lifted from my shoulders as I sighed in relief.
“But I also remember you saying that she didn’t mean it, but that it still hurt to hear,” Miguel added as his hand turned over, his fingers curling around my own and squeezing my hand tightly. “What did you mean by that?”
Now more than ever I wanted to shrink into my chair, to stand up and run and hide. But Miguel’s thumb gently rubbed along the skin of my hand, his eyes patiently staring as he waited for me to answer. My cheeks flushed as I fumbled for the words.
“Well, because. . . we haven’t, you know. . .” I ducked my head down into my shoulders, my cheeks now burning as I noticed the recognition in Miguel’s eyes. “So when she just assumed. . . I snapped. . .”
“I see,” Miguel responded gently, squeezing my hand.
“I apologized to her earlier, because I didn’t know what she had been going through in her private life and deep down I knew she didn’t mean it. She said so long as our performance tomorrow goes well, in the nicest terms, we’re square, but. . .”
The memory rewound itself in my brain, playing like an old record over and over again. God, I felt so fragile at that moment. Just like I do now.
“. . . Is that something you want, Lisa?” Miguel suddenly asked me.
He reached over with his free hand, gently brushing a strand of hair away from my face and tucking it behind my ear as I looked up to face him.
“What?” My voice was barely a whisper.
“Is that something you’d like to try and. . . pursue with me?” He asked more confidently, “Not now, of course, but in the future?”
My eyes widened at the thought, the idea of Miguel and I being physically intimate with one another. Everything we had tried and done up to this point was. . . magical, as corny as it sounds. But it was the truth.
“I. . . I would love that, Miguel, but. . .” I smile softly at him before it falters into a frown, my voice hesitating.
“What’s wrong, Mona?” Miguel asked me, that look of patience never faltering from his face.
“Nothing! I mean, nothing involving you, of course,” I reassured him with wide eyes as I squeezed his hands. “Miguel. . . you have been so patient with me with this. Sometimes I feel like I don’t deserve your affection. You’re just. . . amazing, and yet I make myself hesitate because. . .”
Miguel didn’t say anything, his head tilting to the side as his fingers brushed down my hair again. You’ve been so patient with me.
“When it came to our relationship, Ji-Ho left more than just mental scars, Miguel. . .” I shuddered, lowering my face in shame.
I could feel the muscles of his hand twitch as Miguel froze.
Same old Lisa, so snarky and stuck up.
Going to leave a stain here with that Captain America looking buffoon like you did with me in Korea?
I shuddered at his previous threats, my mind filtering back to old memories. I swallowed nervously and without realizing it my hand came up and brushed along my neck as if I sensed someone else’s hand wrapping around it. Threatening to tighten its grip and make me choke.
I could feel the body heat that radiated from Miguel’s body gain closer in proximity as he leaned down and kissed the top of my head. “We don’t have to discuss this further if you’re not comfortable. But when you are, I’ll be right here,”
A single stray tear raced down my cheek as I willed myself enough courage to look back up at him, his token of affection releasing me from the dark pit I was falling in. “Thank you, Migs. . .”
“Shall we discuss something else to lighten the mood?” He suggested.
A tired sigh escaped me, “Yes, please, before my mother sees me,” I reached over for a napkin to dry my cheek.
Miguel allows me the moment to compose myself as he reaches for his glass. “Tony Stark?” He raised an almost judgemental brow in my direction. “Really?”
I nearly recoiled as I grabbed my wine glass. “Miguel O’Hara, you’re not jealous are you?” I matched his demeanor, leaning back into my chair as I swirled the wine in my glass.
“‘Jealous’ is a strong word,” Miguel rolled his eyes. “What do you like about him anyways?”
I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know, he’s funny, and I think his suits are cool,”
“Okay, but without the suit, what made Stark so likable for you?” Miguel glanced over at me with a genuinely curious expression, trying to mask his jealousy.
“Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist,” I grinned, sipping my wine.
Miguel immediately shot me a look, eyes widening.
“Don’t give me that look, he said it!” I gaped, trying to hide my snicker.
“Oh he’s a philanthropist alright,” Miguel muttered into his cup.
I leaned into him, resting my head on his shoulder. “Easy, guapo, you are way better than Tony Stark. You take off your suit, who are you, Miguel O’Hara?”- handsome
“You mean other than a guy who goes commando?” He whispered in my ear with a toothy grin.
It took everything in me to not spit my drink out, again. “You know what I mean,”
Miguel snickered, his lips grazing the shell of my ear. “Genius, trillionaire, and a handsomely charming philanthropist,” he grinned. “You are stroking my ego so much tonight, it’s honestly adorable,”
“Well first impressions, meeting the parents and all, I know it can be stressful,” I sighed gently as I set my wine glass down on the table. “Just trying to keep your spirits high,”
“Mona Lisa, I’m having a wonderful time. I like your mother, she’s a lovely woman,” Miguel reassured me with a soft expression, his mind beginning to wander as his gaze drifted. “It’s just. . . having another mother figure appear in my life after my own wasn’t exactly. . . the best,”
Something tugged at my heartstrings as I lifted my head up from his shoulder, concern pulsing in my eyes. Family trouble? “Are you okay?”
After briefly hesitating, Miguel nodded his head. “Yeah, it’s just going to take a moment for me to. . . adjust is all. But I swear to you, I enjoy your mother’s company,”
“I’m glad,” I smiled up at him, squeezing his shoulder. “But if you do ever feel uncomfortable at any point or need to step away, you can tell me, okay?”
Miguel’s smile curled as he leaned in, kissing my cheek. “I promise,”
We smiled warmly at one another before returning to our food.
“Well, all this talk of Stark did make me think of a little passion project of mine,” Miguel’s lips curled into a ghost of a smile.
“Oh?” My eyes perked up. “What kind?”
“I had an idea for another suit,” Miguel mused. He quickly peeked over his shoulder to make sure no one was watching them or coming up to their table before he pulled back the sleeve of his jacket, revealing his gizmo. He tapped the screen, revealing a small holographic projection of a schematic for the new spider-suit. “Still nanotechnology, but the protective material would be an armour plating,”
“. . . Is the colour scheme red and gold?” I offered him a playful smirk.
Miguel shot me a look as if I just insulted him and his genius brain, finding comparisons to the comic book hero simply to annoy the shock out of him.
Try as I might, I couldn’t hold back my laughter as I lowered my hand from my mouth, “I’m joking, Migs!”
Miguel scoffed, rolling his eyes playfully at me. “If you must know, I was thinking of a white, black, and red colour pallet. This will make Stark’s suit look like a tea kettle,” he grinned.
“That’s a big claim,” I grinned, crossing my arms over my chest.
“I’m sorry, who did you say was your favourite again?” Miguel gave me a knowing look, as the projection vanished and he leaned into me, wrapping his arm around my back.
“You are, Miguel. My genius, trillionaire, charmingly handsome philanthropist, and Spider-Man,” I smiled, my hands snaking up his chest and caressing his neck.
“Thought so,” He grinned.
“Getting cozy again?” A familiar voice approached us.
Miguel’s eyes glanced up suddenly and his pupils went wide. He quickly stole a kiss from me before pulling away, returning to his seat. “Nothing too scandalous.”
Janet sat back down in her chair, giving me a teasing look before she picked up her fork. “Reminds me of back during my work days, I had dinner with Bon Jovi and his wife one night. Couldn’t keep their hands off one another,”
“Mom!” My cheeks flushed as I hunched into my chair.
My mother erupted with laughter and Miguel’s own hearty chuckle quickly followed after. I looked over at his face, seeing the way he smiled. After realizing how much I loved seeing him smile, I laughed along too.
//////////
Miguel’s P.O.V.
After dinner with Lisa and her mother, Janet, they escorted Lisa’s mother back to the hotel she was staying at. Miguel smiled softly as Lisa hugged Janet tightly, saying her goodbyes. It made him reminisce on what might have been with his own mother.
“I had so much fun tonight,” Janet’s smile was practically beaming as she pulled away to cup Lisa’s face. “Don’t forget the extra suitcase I brought for you, and get plenty of sleep for tomorrow.”
“I promise, mom,” Lisa smiled back, playfully rolling her eyes at the reminder. “Old habits die hard.”
Janet nodded at Lisa before pulling away completely, and looked over towards Miguel. Miguel immediately stiffened, snapping to attention when Janet approached him. To his surprise, she offered him her hand.
“It was very lovely meeting you, Miguel,” Janet offered Miguel a genuine smile. “I can certainly see why Lisa likes you.”
“Aww, mom. . .” Lisa’s cheeks flushed, rubbing the back of her neck as she looked off to the side.
Miguel couldn’t help it as a snicker escaped his lips, shaking his head. He reached over and shook Janet’s hand, offering her a warm smile in return. “It was a pleasure meeting you as well, Mrs Kend– ah, Janet, sorry. Lisa has always spoken highly of you. You’ve raised a wonderful woman.”
“I would certainly hope so,” Janet smiled as she glanced over at her daughter with a teasing look. “I didn’t go into early labor for nothing, you know!”
Lisa’s eyes went wide. “Mom!”
“I’m teasing, dear,” Janet’s lips curled wider as she snickered. “You’ll make sure my sweet Lisa gets back home safe, Miguel?”
Miguel couldn’t help himself even more as he laughed, bringing a hand up to his mouth to calm himself down. “Of course, ma’am. I always do,”
“Such a gentleman,” Janet squeezed Miguel’s hand briefly before pulling her own away. “I’ll see you both tomorrow!”
Miguel could still feel his heart pounding in his chest as he drove Lisa back to her apartment. From all accounts, it appeared he had gotten Lisa’s mother’s approval. She genuinely liked him, and that statement alone made Miguel feel so over the moon with relief.
He helped carry the suitcase into Lisa’s apartment, setting it down on the couch with a grunt. It was surprisingly heavy. “What’s even in here?”
“When my stay in Korea was extended for the foreseeable future at the time, mom packed extra goodies from home for me to try and combat the homesickness,” Lisa explained as she began to unzip the suitcase, pulling the lid open and she gasped. “Oh, yes!!”
“What?” Miguel stepped closer, peering over her shoulder. “What is it?”
It couldn’t be new clothes, she has a closet full of them already. Was it spare medkits? More household items she’ll need to make her everyday life easier?
None of the above.
“Mama came in clutch!” Lisa squealed, clapping happily.
The suitcase was filled to the brim with books, video games and a gaming console.
“No puedo mas,” Miguel grumbled, face palming as he shook his head. - I can’t even
“Hey, what’s with the judgy face?” Lisa retorted as she grabbed a handful of books, setting them aside.
“If my brother were here and he saw all of this? If you two are friends now, after this you two would be insufferable,” Miguel huffed, slouching on the couch next to the suitcase.
“Is he a gamer?” Lisa asked with a curious twinkle in her eye as she started to pile the games onto the coffee table.
“Well he’s not called the ‘King of Virtual Reality’ for nothing,” Miguel shook his head, coming off as a disappointing gesture, but deep down, he was actually proud of his brother’s work.
“Why didn’t he say so before?” Lisa’s eyes widened. “I should invite him over for a game session sometime,”
“Oh no, I hardly get to see you with these new security measures in place,” Miguel stated as waved his hand in a dismissive manner. “I ain’t sharing.”
“And who’s idea was it for said new security measures?” Lisa narrowed her eyes towards Miguel in a teasing manner.
Miguel rolled his eyes at her as Lisa started to lift the gaming console out of the suitcase and set it by the TV. Miguel’s back straightened as he sat up, watching her fiddle with the console’s wiring. “What are you doing?”
“Setting up the console,” Lisa answered, glancing over at him.
“Um, no?” Miguel shot her a questionable look with an eyebrow raised. “You promised your mom you’d get enough sleep for tomorrow’s show, it’s almost 11pm,”
“But video games!” Lisa sulked, a soft whine escaping her. “I haven’t played this for over a year,”
“Nope,” Miguel exclaimed, shooting up from the couch. “Bedtime,”
“Miguel, what are you–?!” Before Lisa could say anything else, Miguel suddenly scooped up Lisa in his arms, throwing her over his shoulder as he hooked his arm around her waist to keep her from falling. “Miguel!!”
“Don’t make me tattle on her,” Miguel grinned, snickering.
“Miguel, put me down!” Lisa gawked, laughing as her hand smacked against his back.
All Miguel did was laugh in response as he stalked over to Lisa’s bed, pulling back the curtain. Kneeling at the edge of the bed, Miguel reached for Lisa and carefully laid her down on the mattress. His hand cradled the back of her head as Miguel set her down, smiling down at her.
“Now be my smart girl and get ready for bed, please,” He emphasized, his hands now on either side of her head.
Lisa’s cheeks flushed at his close proximity. She sighed, looking up into his eyes. “Fine, only because you said please.”
“Thank you, mi Mona Lisa,” Miguel’s face softened as he chuckled, his fingers brushing some hair away from her face.
As he looked at her, at that moment all he could think of was the one question he asked her during dinner.
Is that something you want?
The idea of getting to that point with her. . . Going all the way. . .
It caused Miguel’s heart to burn, turning his blood hot as he stared at her with such love and longing. But he also knew that he couldn’t rush into it. As tender as this moment was right now.
Ji-Ho left more than just mental scars, Miguel. . .
That arrogant bastard. Miguel swore an oath to himself right there and then, that when the time came when Lisa felt she was ready to be physical with him, he’d make it special for her. He promised himself that he’d make up for the precious lost time and wasted memories that befell on her. Miguel would do everything in his power to make it so magical, the very essence of that k-pop wannabe will be erased from Lisa’s mind for the rest of her life.
Miguel lowered his head, first kissing Lisa’s forehead before his lips trailed down her face. His soft touches made Lisa squirm, giggling before his lips finally found hers. The kiss he planted on her lips was slow, tender and sweet, and judging by the enamored gaze Lisa was giving him, the look he gave her as he pulled away sent chills down her spine.
As it did for him.
“Your mother isn’t the only one looking forward to seeing you on that stage,” Miguel grinned as he pulled away.
Lisa’s eyes widened, sparkling in delight as she sat up. “You’ll be there,”
A portal opened up behind Miguel as he offered Lisa a proud grin. “I wouldn’t miss it for the multiverse,”
////////
Lisa’s P.O.V.
I barely slept a wink last night. It was a mixture of excitement, anxiety, and the overwhelming urge to just scream that kept me up. Even now as I stood backstage, preparing myself to walk out on that stage in front of all of those people, and on live television for the first time in so long, I wanted to scream. It was finally happening.
I took one more peek past the curtain, watching as METRO BOOMIN who had just moments ago walked out on stage to introduce himself to the crowd, hyped them up with this upcoming song. His new song, the one that my friends and I would be performing to. I scanned the crowd, and smiled when I saw two familiar faces.
Miguel and my mother.
My fingers curled, holding my fist close to my chest. This was for them. For Miguel, my mom. . . and for dad. I looked up into the sky, wondering if he was watching me right now. But perhaps not just them. . . if Jin was watching too, I could show him how much I’ve grown since camp.
Footsteps caught my ear as I lowered my fidgeting hands and turned, finding my friends approaching me. We were all dressed in our spider costumes. We worked hard, we practiced and we trained for this very moment. To show the world what we could do.
“Is everyone ready?” I asked them, trying to sound encouraging.
“You bet!” Hannah cheered.
“Let’s rock their socks off!” Touga cheered, his brother jumping up and down to psych himself up.
I looked over towards Kasey, who had decided to remain quiet since our last conversation, at least towards me anyways. From meeting up with the others to get to the venue before the event security guards invited the public, to changing into our costumes and doing our warm up exercises, she hadn’t said a word to me.
She looked between the three of us before nodding softly. “Let’s do it,”
I offered her a soft, small smile as I extended my fist. “Webslingers on 3?”
One by one, they brought their fists into the little circle, our knuckles brushing against one another. “1, 2, 3, Webslingers!”
We shot our hands into the air, laughing and cheering.
“Alright ya’ll, this is a brand new song I got in store for tonight, and I won’t be doing it alone. Give it up for New York’s very own. . . WEBSLINGERS!” METRO BOOMIN’s voice echoed through his microphone.
“That’s our que!” Hannah’s cheery voice sang as she ushered us to move.
One by one, we made our way out to the stage, the audience showering us with welcoming applause. After offering bright smiles and wide waves, we each took our positions on the stage before I signaled METRO that we were ready.
“Let’s get to it!” He cheered.
///////
Miguel’s P.O.V.
A chorus of violins coursed through Miguel’s ears, playing a pleasant and angelic like melody. One by one, spotlights shined on Lisa and her friends as they began to move, as if they were being whisked away like clouds.
“Not done fightin', I don't feel I've lost
Am I dreamin', is there more like us?
Got me feeling like it's all too much
I feel beaten, but I can't give up~”
The bass kicked in, and the crowd began to howl and cheer in anticipation, getting a feel for the rhythm and the beat. Miguel swayed with them, glancing down at Janet who had a proud look on her face, eyes watering as she couldn’t steer her gaze off of Lisa, and never could he. The song, its lyrics, its melody, entrapped them.
It was as good as Lisa had promised him it would be.
“I'm still fightin' (Metro), I don't feel I've lost
Am I dreamin', is there more like us?
Got me feelin' like it's all too much
I feel beaten, but I can't give up~”
The crowd cheered as the lights kicked back up again, Lisa and her friends literally jumping into the next set as the electric drums pedal guided them with the beat. Lisa and the girls hung back while the twins Toya and Touga stepped up with their duo choreography.
“Uh, wakin' up, feelin' like the thankful one
Count up my ones, lacin' up my favorite 1's
One of a kind, one of one, the only one
Got one shot and one chance to take it once~”
Their movements were so fluid, for a brief moment Miguel wondered if they were even truly human. The crowd cheered them on as their bodies seemed to swerve, leaning into their next set of moves. His gizmo started to go off, and he almost didn’t notice it due to the strobelights and the loud bass pounding in his ears.
“Kiss my mama on the forehead, 'fore I get the code red
'Cause I was born, bred to go in, toast red
And swing by four-ten, beef patty, cornbread
In the concrete jungle, where my home is!”
As Hannah jumped in to join the twins, Miguel glanced down at his gizmo. He noticed Spider-Byte’s caller ID and his eyes flared. He brought his wrist up towards his face, his finger swiping left to answer. “Margo?”
“Miguel, the scanners are fluctuating again, they're off the charts!,” Margo’s voice filtered through the com-link, filled with worry. “I think something big is about to happen,”
Miguel’s eyes immediately began looking around, his infrared scanner embedded into his sunglasses powering on. “Lyla, where is everyone?”
“Pinging you their locations now!” Lyla’s voice echoed in his ears as one by one, Lyla located Spider-Noir, Webslinger, Gwen, and Peter B. Some were hiding among the cosplay crowd, while others were covertly among the shadows.
He initially had only asked Spider-Noir and Webslinger to keep watch. But Miguel had a weird gut feeling in the pit of his stomach. A feeling that kept nagging him all night that something just didn’t sit right, and that this wouldn’t go well.
He hated being right.
“All get focused, all range of toast is
The nickname, Mr. Keen-To-Do-the-Mostest
I was livin' down bad in my folks crib
Now I'm laughin' to the bank and the joke is (no way)
Did more things than folks did or folks get
We've been gettin' this fly since some poor kids
My rich friends and my broke friends co-exist
They love to mix and we know what it is~”
What sounded like lightning crackling, followed by a loud roar of thunder caught Miguel’s ears as his gaze immediately shot upward into the night sky. Just above the Statue of Liberty, sparks flew as before his very eyes, a portal opened up.
Oh shock!
“Team move in,” Miguel commanded. “Lyla, call in backup. Send in anyone you can get a hold of!”
/////////
Lisa’s P.O.V.
The sound of a loud crackling of thunder and lighting made me jump and the music came to a screeching halt. My friends and I looked up towards the sky, in fact everyone did. My body froze, standing in shock as I watched a multiversal portal open up above us.
But not from the Spider-Society.
“AYO, EVERYONE EVACUATE!” METRO BOOMIN yelled out into the crowd.
Harry. . . he was back, only this time he wasn’t sending a Russian spy to take me in.
Toya grabbed Hannah, pulling her to the back of the stage. Touga reached for me, but I leapt out of his grasp as I went straight for Kasey, as she stood as calm as the wind, observing the portal with an almost blank stare.
“Kasey!!” I called out to her.
When she slowly turned to face me, her hand reaching for her cheek, I froze in place, Touga right behind me.
“Well, Miss Lisa,” Kasey’s lips suddenly curled into a dark smile as her fingers dug into her skin.
The gasp that left me felt like I had been punched in the gut as Touga instinctively grabbed me, stepping in front of me as I watched in pure horror as Chameleon ripped off the face mask and removed his disguise.
“Mr. Osborn’s stage is finally set, and it’s time to put on the show,”
Kasey. . . where was Kasey?!
“What. . . where is she?” I was desperately searching for my voice as the crowd shrieked at the man now standing before them.
Chameleon laughed at the question, tossing the face mask aside. I could hear Hannah screaming from behind me, Toya hugging her tightly. Toya muttered a curse in his native tongue, eyes widening, but he didn’t falter.
Not even when Chameleon whipped out a gun and opened fire directly at him, and in that split second, I blanked out.

Story of a College Succubus p.3
warnings: alcohol and drug abuse, jake and Heeseung kiss, slight manipulation? non-con touching, filler episode.
You angrily laid in your bed, arms crossed. That little shit really did that to you. Such an asshole. Anyway, you decided to talk to the person you trusted the most. Your dear old mother.
“Y/n, finally you call me! How is it going at school sweetie?” She happily answered, making you laugh. “Hey, mom. The boys here are pretty good to feed from, except I just need to be more careful.” You spoke quietly, not wanting to alert your neighbors. “Well, that’s good to hear. Check your pendant, sweetheart, and tell me what color it is.”
You looked at the necklace on your neck and answered, “Red, but there’s white cracks in it.” You heard a light sigh, and suddenly your mother’s voice was hushed. “Sweetie, you are growing up. You know every life phase it changes, and you’re 18 now. You’re going to start having to feed directly from your targets. So dream hopping still works, but you’ll still be hungry.” You should be happy at this news, that you’re changing and growing, right?
But it only angered you further. Life was shitty right now and it was getting difficult to keep up. “Okay, mom. I’ll try.” You whispered, mind fogged with anger. “You know, your birthday is coming up soon. It’s already Tuesday, okay? On Saturday you’ll be turning 19. If you feel anything weird, call me. Your body should be going through transformation and you’ll be put into a very…needy phase.”
You blushed at the newfound information. “Try and find a partner to settle down with for the weekend. It’ll make it easier, and we both know college boys love to have sex. Shouldn’t be that hard.” You heard a loud shout in the back. “I’ll call you back, sweetie. Your idiot father hurt himself.” Your mom hung up, leaving you with a smile.
Find a partner, huh? Shouldn’t be too hard.
-
You checked your phone in the middle of class, seeing someone had sent out a group message with an invitation.
__________

(or hot bitches)

__________
Wow, so inviting. You closed out the message, hearing your teacher rant about kids these days and their phones.
Maybe you could closet shop for an outfit after class. It was already 3pm, so you’d spend the rest of the time getting ready anyway.
-
You took a shower, taking a couple more photos before you began to get dressed and do your makeup. You settled on a slight smoky eyed look, accompanied with a sexy black outfit with a skirts and a tight see through top, along with some black boots with silver accessories.
You struck a pose in the mirror, smirking to yourself. If the goal was to find a boyfriend, then you’d do just that tonight.
-
You walked into the fraternity house, seeing a nice, pale but very handsome man dressed in a black tight t shirt and some black jeans. “Heh, so there’s the beauty.” He spoke loudly, walking closer and closing you into the wall. “I’m Sunghoon, pretty much the president of DKD. Nice to meet you, sweetheart.” He smiled teasingly, making you raise an eyebrow. “Nice to meet you too, Sunghoon. I’m Y/n.” You replied, Sunghoon grabbing your waist. “Let’s go for a walk, okay?”
You complied, letting him walk with you on his arm. “So, Y/n. How’s it going for your first week here?” You scoffed at the question. “Well, everyone at school had seen my naked body. So not too great!” He sensed the agitation in your voice. “I think you need to…calm down a bit Y/n.” He whispered, pouring a shot into a cup. “Fixes all my problems anyways.”
You looked away, watching as a short young boy wandered around cluelessly. He was adorable, but he looked like the definition of social anxiety.
-
While you weren’t paying attention, Sunghoon pulled a pill out of his pocket and crushed it in his hand. He poured it into the cup, stirring it into the cup.
-
A girl strutted towards the young boy, a smirk on her face. “Hey, Harua.” She flirted, leaning against the counter. “O-oh! Hi. What’s up?” He answered cheerfully, making the girl chuckle. “We should like, make out. I think you’re really cute.” He blushed, fiddling with his fingers. “I- I’ve never kissed anyone before.” He mumbled, her playing with his hair. “That’s okay. I can teach you.” She blew him a kiss, pressing his cheek. It was obvious to anyone in the room that she was going to play him, but for Harua it wasn’t so obvious.
You sighed, wishing that you could tell the boy his future. But you were a stranger. Why would he listen to you?
-
“Here you go, beautiful. Now hurry on upstairs, everyone’s waiting for you.” Sunghoon smiled, taking your hand and leading you upstairs. He opened the door to a room, gasping loudly. You looked in, seeing Jake and Heeseung’s lips intertwined. “Dude, what the fuck are you doing?” Sunghoon shouted, making Jake jump in his position. You had to admit, he looked really hot with messed up hair and plump, swollen lips. You stopped questioning why it felt like your vision was closing in.
“Experimenting, why?” Heeseung said, laughing and it was obvious in his tone he was drunk. “Well, I brought a new toy to play with.” You looked at him in confusion, lacking vision for a blink until you felt yourself fall into his arms. “She’s such a pretty girl. I can’t wait to get inside her.” Jake whispered, caressing your forehead.
You wanted to fight back, but you just let your body slip into unconsciousness.
-
You awoke to the sound of guys arguing, seeing the boy you had met on campus earlier getting into an argument with Sunghoon. “Dude, what the fuck?! Just because she’s hot doesn’t mean you can roofie her!” Nicholas shouted, Sunghoon rolling his eyes. “Fine, just take her. I’m not even that horny anymore.” He pushed past Nicholas, who walked up to you and grabbed you bridal style. “It’s okay, Y/n. We’ll go to my place.”
You softly smiled, still too weak to talk and leaned into Nicholas’s touch.

You spend the day at your desk thumping your leg on the floor, not knowing why you’re feeling so anxious. Maybe it’s just because the night before, you were out so late with Eddie, and a little hungover. You shuffle your papers and try to stay focused on your work, but by the time the clock hits 5, you’re racing out the door, thankful that you can put your mind at rest for the rest of the day. You get yourself home and flop onto your couch to turn on your TV, but after a while, you find yourself flicking your eyes to the clock ticking on the wall every few minutes. Why are you so antsy today?
Your heart leaps in your chest as the phone rings, and you jump up to get it. You pick it up and hold it to your ear. “Hello?”
“Y/N! Honey! How are you?” It’s your mom.
“I’m good! Just settling in,” You tell her. “Oh, guess who I ran into at the bar last night?”
“Who? Was it Y/BFF/N!?” She asks excitedly.
“No, apparently, she moved. It was Eddie! Eddie Munson!”
“Oh! How is he? You know, he gave us a discount last year when your father needed to get his car fixed!” You smile at that. It’s so Eddie of him.
“He’s good! Yeah, we just hung out and caught up all night. The bartender had to kick us out, actually.” You chuckle.
“Oh, really?” Your mom laughs. She always used to tease you when your best friend and Eddie weren’t around. She thought you had a crush. Of course, even if you did, which you didn’t, there was no way you’d ever tell anyone. Eddie was Y/BFF/N’s.
Come on, mom! It’s not like that, and you know it! Eddie’s just a friend!” You assert, one hand going to your hip.
“Well, all I’m saying, Y/N, is that Eddie is a very nice, caring young man. You could do a lot worse.”
“Mom!” You laugh incredulously.
“That’s all I’m saying! I’m done!” Your mom exclaims defensively. “Anyway, I was just calling to see if you want to come to dinner this weekend. I’m making pot roast, if you’d like some.”
“Yeah, that would be great, mom. I’ll be there.”
“Good! And if you see Eddie again, tell him I said hello. Bring him with you, if you want! I miss having all you kids around for dinner!” You chuckle, rolling your eyes.
“I’ll think about it,” You mumble dryly, thinking of all the comments she’d make about the two of you. “I’ll talk to you later, mom. Love you.”
“I love you too, sweetie. Have a good night.” You hang up the phone and breathe a sigh, looking to the clock again. 7:04. You feel your stomach grumble and trudge to the kitchen to find something for dinner. You decide on some chicken and a bag of frozen broccoli and start preparing it, turning on the radio to keep you entertained while you boil some water and season the chicken. After a little while, tongs in your hand as you prod the chicken in the pan, the phone rings again. You go to answer it, assuming your mom forgot to tell you something on your call a few minutes ago.
“Hello?”
“Y/N?” It’s Eddie. You smile.
“Oh, hey, Eddie! What’s up?”
“Not much, I just got home from work. Listen, I don’t know if you’d be interested, but me and a couple of friends are headed to the movies. We’re going to see Silence of the Lambs. You wanna come? It’s supposed to be really good.” He asks.
“Yeah, sounds like fun! And it is, I saw it opening weekend a few months ago.”
“Great! You wanna meet there or I can come pick you up if you want,” He offers.
“I can drive, don’t worry about it. What time does the movie start?”
“Eight.” You glance at the clock, just about 7:30 now. You’ll have to leave soon. “So, I’ll see you there?”
You start smelling something burning, and gasp. Your dinner! “Yeah, I’ll be there. I’ve gotta go, dinner’s burning! Bye!”
“See you—” You feel bad as you slam the phone down and run to the kitchen, but it’s too late. The chicken is completely blackened. You take the pan off the burner and set it aside, fanning smoke away with your hand. You can eat after the movie, you decide, and so you scrape the chicken and broccoli into the trash before going to put on some clothes to go to the movie.
Thankfully, the movie theater isn’t too crowded on a Monday night, and so you find Eddie easily among the passers-by. Next to him, you spot another curly haired man. He’s a bit shorter and his hair is a lighter brown, and as he turns around you see a familiar face, more matured, but you’d recognize that wide grin anywhere. “Henderson?!” You shout as you approach. He turns to look at you, his million-dollar smile on display as he sees you. You rush to him and give him a hug. You haven’t seen him since he was a freshman in high school, and now look at him. All grown up.
“Y/N! It’s so good to see you!” You take his face in your hands, your heart swelling at seeing how much he’s grown. His head is above yours now, not by much, but it’s still a big difference from when you were in school together.
“Oh, my god! Dustin, you’re so big! How are you!” He laughs as you step back.
“I’m good! I’m home for the summer from NYU. I got into the engineering program there.” You roll your eyes, but you’re still smiling.
“Of course, you did! I wouldn’t expect anything else, you brilliant man, you!” He waves a hand dismissively.
“Oh, stop. I’m not that great. The competition is definitely tougher than it was here,” he says.
“Oh bullshit!” Eddie interjects, arms crossed over his chest. “You were just telling me how you were working on a project with Motorola for a digital portable phone. That’s insane!” Dustin’s face flushes with red as Eddie turns to you. “He got into this internship as a freshman, which is apparently unheard of.” You beam with pride at Dustin, and another familiar face rounds the corner.
“Hey, Gareth! How are you?” You wave.
“I’ve been good! I’m getting married!”
“I heard! What’s her name?” You can practically see his eyes turn into hearts at the mere thought of her.
“Nicole,” he smiles. “We got together right after high school. Met her at a concert, actually. She’s great! You should come meet her sometime!” You nod.
“I’d love to! Maybe we can get the gang back together for a Hellfire sesh,” You suggest.
“Oh, man. I haven’t played in so long. College keeps you busy,” Dustin laughs, and you nod.
“Don’t I know it!” You all laugh. You glance at the clock, and it’s almost time for the movie to start. “I’m gonna go grab my ticket and something to eat. I didn’t get to eat my dinner earlier. You turn to walk toward the ticket stand, but Eddie stops you.
“Don’t worry about it. I’ve got your ticket,” he says, pulling two out of his jacket pocket. You raise your eyebrows in surprise, taking one from his hand.
“Oh, thanks,” You say smiling. “Well, since you got me my ticket I think it’s only fair I buy the popcorn.” Eddie shrugs.
“Well, I haven’t eaten dinner yet either. If you want, we can just go somewhere after.” You nod eagerly.
“Can we go to the diner? I’ve been craving a good burger.” Eddie laughs, both of you start walking behind Dustin and Gareth toward the theater room.
“Yeah, sounds good to me.” You suddenly remember the conversation with your mom from the dinner talk, and you giggle. Eddie looks down at you in question. “What?”
“My mom called me a few minutes before you did. I told her I ran into you last night at the bar and she wants to know if you want to come to dinner this weekend. She’s making pot roast.” Eddie laughs as he takes the door from Dustin’s hand, allowing you to go in first.
“Yeah, that sounds great. I miss having dinner at your place. Your parents have always been so nice to me.” You remember the days when most of the town hated people like you and Eddie. The outcasts, the freaks. Your house was always a sanctuary, and Eddie’s. Y/BFF/N’s parents, on the other hand, they were cordial, but they weren’t… warm, like your parents and Wayne.
“Yeah, my mom mentioned you gave my dad a discount last year when you worked on his car.” You walk up the steep steps to find a good seat at the top, toward the center of the row next to Dustin and Gareth.
“Ah, yeah I think I remember that. It’s the least I could do, really, for raising my best friend, and all.” He shrugs as he sits next to you. You grin at him, nudging his shoulder with yours.
“So, I’m your best friend, huh?” Eddie shifts but doesn’t lose his easy smile as he looks back at you.
“Of course, you are. Always have been.” You look down at your hands as heat rushes your cheeks. Then, the previews start, making both of you look toward the screen.

Misunderstandings
Tumblr media
A/N: here’s part one of the drama fic, it hasn’t been proof read so if there’s a mistake I’m sorry😂
Tumblr media
“You are coming home for the tree lighting right daddy?” Chris sighed “I don’t know piglet..things are pretty hectic on set right now”. She whined “but I’m singing for Nona’s theater! They asked me to perform this year while they light the tree..it’s a really big deal” He absolutely hated hearing the disappointment in her voice “I’m so sorry sweetheart, I promise that I’ll make it up to you”
He watched her brow furrow “Are you and mommy fighting?” “What makes you ask that?” “Because I haven’t seen you guys speak to each other since Halloween and you only ever call now to talk to Teddy or me, Ry, Brady and Bran” he took a breath “it’s complicated right now piglet”
She started getting upset “well how complicated can it be? You and mommy never fight and yeah we’ve all seen the pap walk by now and..I know it’s not great..but you and mommy have always worked it out”
“I don’t know about it this time Dani-“ she cut him off “why did you do it daddy?” He shook his head “no, sweetie, I’m sorry but your mom and I have done our best to keep you and your brothers away from this part of my job and that’s not changing.” He could see the flash of anger in her eyes on their FaceTime call “I think I have a right to know why my father did a bogus pr walk with a girl who’s literally the same age as his oldest son”
Chris took a deep breath “piglet, it’s complicated and that’s all I can say. Look I have to go. Be good and I love you” Dani rolled her eyes “yeah whatever” with that she hung up.
He took a deep breath and rubbed his face, then decided to call his wife again. He wasn’t sure if he could handle more arguing. She answered the FaceTime call after five rings “what Chris?” “We need to talk y/n” “yeah well I have nothing to say right now” he started getting heated “yeah well you’re going to have to get over that really soon because the kids are starting to notice” “what?” “Yeah, I just hung up with Danica and she asked if we were fighting because we haven’t spoken since Halloween”
You were silent for the longest time until he saw the hurt in your eyes and heard a small sigh “she’s the same age as Ryan Chris..” he sighed “I know..I know how bad it looks..” you snapped “no you don’t chris! I have done nothing but love you for twenty five years! I’ve given everything to you-“
He cut you off with a raised voice “Okay and what am I suppose to think y/n when I get sent a picture of you talking to your ex boyfriend at Zac’s party in LA?!” You lost it “THATS WHY YOU DID THIS?! CHRIS HES MARRIED WITH CHILDREN NOW JUST LIKE I AM AND WE WERE JUST CATCHING UP!! YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING CHILD”
Ryan walked into the camera frame with a concerned look “..mama? Are you okay?”
You turned to face him with a small smile “yeah baby, everything’s fine. Could you go set the table for dinner for me?” He slowly nodded and walked away and you turned back to Chris “I have to go” “y/n” but it was to late, you’d hung up.

Zack Taylor known canon children and au children
Man I love Zack. When I was a kid I loved that Zack was a dancer, and was so cool. I loved how NICE he was. He’s a friggin sweetie. In comics I like how this is really focused on; he’s sweet, he’s popular, he’s a nice guy who’s doing his best. He’s not perfect but he’s trying. He can be serious, but he’s never straight up mean unless he has to be, and you can tell he hates it. Should have said so with Trini XD she’s the same way. I just ship her and Richie and got carried away, apologies.
If I’ve forgotten anyone you want to see or I think of them as I go, I’ll add 😁😁
Zack Taylor’s Canon Children;
I do like he didn’t end up with any of his high school sweethearts. Cute as the trope is, doesn’t work for everyone and that’s not a bad thing. Zack's a very fun character, and very charming, but it's cool it wasn't a sweetheart, and I do like thinking he and Billy are together. And I love the chemistry of Zack and Billy in once and always. There's something so sweet about those two bonding when in the first season, Zack had to keep asking Trini for help understanding Billy.
Minh Kwan. He is a great dad to Minh lol. I love how you can see the dawning “oh grid this is what ‘teenager with attitude’ means. I was just like this and this is not good”. Darling I see your pain but you’re doing a good job! She loves you very much! You and Billy are her dads!
My OC’s for Zack Taylor’s Non Canon Children;
Angela (last name unknown);
-props face in hand- seems she was another "had a larger plot relevance that got rewritten and thus wrote the character out of the show" character. That makes three I've run across. Sharkie, Richie, Angela. You could almost make an entire team of their own with these written out of the show characters. I won't say anything more about that, it is what it is. I will say while I wasn't the biggest fan of Angela's episodes, she seemed okay, and Zack was smitten. Which was definitely cute to watch, he was adorable in love with her. But I do have ideas for their kids, and I am quite taken with these two if I do say so myself.
Zack had a long love affair with Angela and they had two kids once he completely retired from being a ranger. She’s a senator’s wife, and they’re a senator’s kids. This has the predictable outcome of the two, Neveah, aged 21 and Bernard Taylor, aged 19, being a bit rebellious.
Neveah is a wild child, though not malicious in the slightest. Trickster type, very mischievous, she's definitely the class clown type. Prefers lightening the mood or getting back at people in the most prankster chaos way possible. She's aware of the rangers, and helps as a senator's child with all the perks that comes with it. She's going into business with the interest of owning a coffeeshop and gallery, so that the community can come and display and possibly sell art, and have a safe place to talk and decompress. Her brother included. They're not especially close, but she does want him to have a place to just be a person. Neveah is also not super close to her dad or mom, though it's more over their work than anything.
Bernard Taylor has absolutely no idea what he wants to do with his life, and works as a preschool dance teacher at the library. He also volunteers for arts and crafts classes. A huge lover of kids, and little kids adore his cheeky personality and his creative problem solving solutions. distraction and dancing, mostly. He's been dating Selena Bulkmeier-Skullovitch for two years, only recently found out Selena was Rita and Zedd's daughter. Upset she didn't tell him sooner, though can't argue he probably would not have taken this revelation well, and it's not like it matters. She was raised by Bulk and Skull, right? He's a bit corny in his romance, and is hoping if she is secretly evil, every time he makes her laugh it's another way to convince her not to follow in her biological parents' footsteps
Melissa (last name unknown);
Zack and Kim were the two who encouraged Melissa to join a disability inclusive dance class, and while it didn't click at first, Zack was the most delighted when she got the hang of the dancing. She told Zack she knew he was the black ranger, and managed to stick close enough by in school and in general people thought they were dating. It was easy to play along, and she was able to act as a great lookout. They have one daughter, Lila Taylor. Aged sixteen.
Lila is not deaf, and she's blunt and strong willed. People tend to underestimate her, and she's fairly quick to correct them. Some people think she's too strong willed, she thinks she's as loud as she needs to be. Lila is a dance teacher and volunteers at the library. She wants to go into library sciences, and is considering perhaps working at the Library of Congress. It's very difficult to get the position, but Lila is willing. She loves music, she loves dancing, and she loves knowledge. Everyone deserves it. not associated with a Color.
Violet Arias;
Zack and Violet are a lot like the sun and moon or moon and sea; there's an equal push and pull with them that can't be ignored. High school sweethearts in the greatest sense, though things hit a rocky patch when she figured out he was a power ranger-not that he'd made it particularly hard. They got engaged when he wrote her a poem cipher asking her to marry him. With help from Billy, of course. The two run a music shop together, with Violet running the area that has the retro music devices and Zack in charge of the CD's and vinyls. Violet and Zack have twins, Elodie and Mona, aged 16.
Elodie is very mellow, and smart. She's curious about a lot of things, and enjoys music based philosophy. Wants to be a song writer, wants to write music for bands from the other side of the galaxy. Just because it'd be a fun, cool challenge. Relatively popular, very forgiving, but not stupid. She's got her limits. Has opinions on a variety of subjects but it's extremely weird what things she's got an enyclopedic knowledge of and what she doesn't. She's often hyped and made brave by her sister, who is the opposite of her in every way. not associated with a color
Mona is going to be a music based power ranger, she is going to be a green ranger. And she is everything her parents and Elodie are not. Brash, loud, vengeful, crass, wild, but her sister keeps her calm and she in turn boosts her sister and gets her able to do things. Mona's somehow managed to be the most popular girl at school, but more than a few people are hoping for the day when this hot headed queen bee gets her comeuppance and gets knocked down a couple pegs.
Trini Kwan;
They started dating in space, and it was nice. When Trini became red, it got more serious, and being with each other was always so safe, emotionally. They don’t spent a lot of time on earth, but they do have two kids. The two don’t see their kids much, Jethro, age 16 and Avery, age 15 are on earth and do school on earth. They see their parents on holidays when they can, but mostly live with Kim. They have very distant relationships with their parents, even if they wish their parents would retire. They partially retired until both of them were in Junior High, which makes it extra tough. It feels a little like an abandonment, even if it isn’t.
Jethro is not really open to his parents, and has a better relationship with Kim. He wants to be a DJ, and does DJ’ing stuff for school dances and parties. Annoyed by his parents, has a ton of friends, prefers his friends. He likes Kim just fine, and everyone else. He just thinks his parents are using their duties as an excuse to get out of raising their kids. Jethro tries to avoid talking about his parents and what they do. He’s got his own things to do, they have theirs.
Avery loves her parents. She misses them dearly and wants them to come home. She’s become a bit of a people pleaser, swallowing down anxiety or unhappiness so nobody worries. She worries about them, a lot, and wishes they’d just stay home with their kids, who love them. While she doesn’t get why her parents are always in space, she knows they are doing important work saving people, and thus, tries to be understanding and patient and not worry anyone. Not associated with a color.
Kimberly Hart;
Tommy had a lot going on, and Kim realized she couldn't keep spending all her energy on him if he wasn't going to notice she cared. They went into a close friendship, and Kim and Zack stumbled very gradually from close friends to dating to married. Kim's a famous singer now, and Zack helps her make her music. Their dynamic duo for creativity continues evolving their music. They also employ animators for all their music videos. They have one son, aged sixteen. Joshua Taylor-Hart
Joshua's tone deaf, but loves playing violin. He has great technical skill, though struggles with the frustration that with being tone deaf, the six sounds most people can hear that would allow him to elevate his music are deeply absent. He likes his music, he loves music. It's hard not to be jealous of his parents, though, sometimes. Dancing's easier, so's cross country running. He's a hard worker, he's smart, and he's used to looking at things outside the box. Is not associated with a color.
Matthew Cook;
During everything Zack and Matt were friends with benefits, though Matt tended to use Zack as an emotional scapegoat as well. Zack finally had enough after a bit, and told Matt either he got his head out of his ass or they weren’t continuing. He was serious, too, and Matt got left in the lurch for a little while before actually looking at himself long and hard and deciding whether or not his grudge was worth losing Zack again. It wasn’t. His parents loved Zack, Kira loved Zack, and most importantly he loved Zack. He came out to his parents and family, and then put in the effort to get over himself to get Zack back. One daughter by surrogate parent, and Matt owes Kim big time. She’s made it clear though. This was for Zack. He gets this, and accepts he and Kim are probably never even going to be friends. His and Zack’s daughter is Layla Cook-Taylor. Layla is sixteen, tiny firecracker of positivity. She has her low moments, but she’s never down for long. She likes swimming and playing guitar. She dances with Zack in dance classes and Matt adores her so so much. She’s frank and earnest and tries her best. She doesn’t give up easily if ever. White ranger. Saba loves her, too. Yes Matt has gotten in arguments with the uppity dagger why do you ask?
Jason Lee Scott;
There really wasn't anyone else, honestly. They got each other. Blue and red is fine, and red and pink, but red and black? when it works it works and honestly they work. For obvious reasons, while they started dating in space, they didn't make it public when they came back to earth until Jason's dad died. At that point, there was nothing holding them back, and Zack understood the reason Jason waited. There was never going to be a relationship with his dad if he came out, and he was the sole caretaker. He had a responsibility. Zack respected that.
They have two kids, by surrogate. Kristen of the dark rangers, actually, offered. They didn't talk to the five much, but knew them well enough, after everything. When she offered it was actually a surprise, but they were willing if she was. When they decided they wanted a second kid, she was still willing. They're half siblings. Cleo, aged 24, is Jason and Kristen's daughter. Valeria, aged 18, is Kristen and Zack's daughter. Through this they became better friends with Kristen as well and that was really nice, especially for Kristen.
Cleo's more dramatic and adventurous than her younger sister. She will try anything once, do anything once. The whole world's a stage and she's one of the leads. Not afraid to take life by the horns and ride for all it's worth. A little bit of a mean girl, especially to anyone who dares hurt her sister or sister's friends. Was a queen bee in high school. She designs outfits for athletes. Sportswear is a passion of hers. How to make it fashionable and nice to work out in. Everyone deserves to look their best. She, herself, has an almost boho goth mix as a style. it was a mistake to let her watch incredibles; Edna Mode is her hero and role model. is not associated with a color. However, she'd be Fuchsia if she did. Unusual, and wouldn't have it any other way.
Valeria is 18 and in awe of her family and their legacies. She feels like she won't be able to be able to match any of them, but is trying not to let that bother her. She's captain of a breakdancing team, and mixes it with hard shoe Irish step-dance, which she's been taking classes for since she was four. It's something new, something fun, something her, and while she doesn't see the value in it, Zack and Jason do. Cleo's first experimental skort (skirt/short combo) was for Valeria to better be able to mix both dance styles. It's sometimes difficult for the sisters to talk to each other or show affection, but when they do its usually through things made for the other for their hobbies. Valeria also likes doing basic build type things, such as building sewing machines or computers. She only does this for family, but Cleo loves the custom machine she got. So does uncle Adam.
Currently working at a pizzeria, the tips are good and she likes being able to think while in high stress situations. It's where she thrives. Valeria is not associated with a color. however if she was, it'd be coral or black.
Tommy Oliver;
Tommy is an airhead, and very hard to convince he’s being flirted with. Kimberly, for months, tried to flirt with her new teammate, and eventually moved on because it just didn’t connect in Tommy’s head. He misunderstood Zack trying to explain it to him as Zack flirting, which made a little bit of a mess, but once it was sorted out Kimberly was dating someone else, and Tommy and Zack realized they did like each other. So they started dating, although there was some hurt feelings between themselves and Kim for a long while. Unfortunately, shortly after they successfully adopted a four year old, Tommy disappeared.
Eighteen years later, Landon Taylor works at Promethea as a systems programmer intern. It’s the closest to Tommy and Zack’s old work that Landon can get. Zack doesn’t want him any closer, and Billy, now CEO of Promethea, takes care of his old friends’ son. Landon admires Promethea and power rangers immensely. He wants to help them by any means he possibly can, and he does so to the best of his ability.
Nothing has come of years of searching for Tommy, and vice president Zack Taylor has proposed several amendments to help protect the teenagers that become rangers. He knows better than to make it illegal for teens and young adults to be rangers like some propose, but he also knows there needs to be suitable protective safety nets just in case. He’s proud of Landon, who’s helping program these safety nets, and he’s proud of the current rangers.
Billy Cranston;
They adopted Minh together basically. But in an alternate reality they got married and have two adopted kids, Harlow, aged 19, Selena, aged 17, and one kid by surrogate, Dylan, aged 9.
Harlow was adopted by Zack and Billy when he was seven, and is the first kid they adopted. He and the senator bonded over a shared love of music, and breakdancing. He bonded with Billy a little bit later over Billy mentioning that like Harlow, he used to have a fear of fish and water, and it was fine feeling irrational fear. Harlow tries really hard to make both his dads proud. He's got a lot of pressure he puts on himself. He's a perfectionist. Everything has to be perfect all the time. Billy's the first to try to get him to see the beauty in sometimes things just...not...being...perfect, and it's okay if he's not immediately good at things. Tommy Oliver is his favorite honorary uncle, and is a huge help with how he feels and living in a family. Is the blue ranger, alongside Selena, who is the orange ranger (there is no pink on their team).
Dylan was born a couple years before Selena was adopted. rambunctious kid. Gives his dads a heart attack all the time. His mom was Aisha, and his dad was Billy. There were long talks about it, but it was actually decided by a coin flip because Aisha could see they were psyching themselves out, and were going to talk themselves out of a choice they very much wanted. So she took charge for them. They love Dylan, and Dylan loves his dads, and his brother, and his sister. He likes music and playing pirates. He's one of the smartest kids in his grade school class, but Billy and Zack want him to make friends, so he's not allowed to jump a year. He does get supplemental lessons by both of them, though, so he doesn't stop being curious. Not associated with a color.
Selena has a lot of self doubt about being in this family, and doesn't get why Billy and Zack keep going to bat for her. They go to bat for her because they see in her a lot of themselves, and a lot of Tommy. She's a cheerleader at their school, and does baby sitting as a side job. She struggles to feel worthy of being the orange ranger, but she likes her new brothers, and she likes her dads, and she likes being able to show some of how grateful she feels back to them.
In a small variation, Minh would come live with all three of them as their sister and yellow ranger.
Farkas Bulkmeier;
Zack realized he was crushing on Bulk when Bulk explained his plan to be homecoming king. Zack loved his tenacity and how genuinely excited Bulk actually was over this. Overhearing Marleau’s threat and Bulk backing down, Zack backed him, and got the rest of the rangers and their dates to back him, because Marleau might think she rules the school but she really didn’t.
He completely fell in love with him seeing him crowned homecoming king. However nothing happened in school, and they fell out of touch for several years. Later, they met again when Zack went to a bar with friends, and found the bartender and owner was a familiar face. Farkas was happy to see him, and Zack was extremely happy to see him. He stayed over that night, and then never left. They work well together and have two kids via genetic splicing courtesy of Billy and Aquitar technology. Brianna, aged thirteen, and Devin, aged ten.
Brianna goes to dance classes twice a week, is as friendly and strong in her sense of Justice as her dad Zack was when he was a teenager. He is so proud of her. Her sense of Justice is perhaps a little too strong, and Zack is watching his thirteen year old like a hawk. Power rangering is fine, but he is not letting his baby girl do it before she’s sixteen. Out of personal experience. She often has a group of kids around her, as a sort of social butterfly nexus; and their house is apparently the “safe house”. Polite, energetic, friendly, everyone’s her friend and she’s everyone else’s friend. Bulk and Zack have had to tell her more than once she needs to know her limits. Not associated with a color; but she’ll be silver the second she’s old enough.
Devin wants to go to Mirinoi when he’s grown up and explore everything there. He likes being everywhere, and doing things with his dads. Happy learning how to bake and cook, is fascinated by sewing and Bulk’s hand sewn jackets. Interested in his sister’s dance recital outfits and often borrows them to study. Bulk’s happy to help him in all his interests. Not associated with a color, but he’d be pink if old enough and chosen.
Eugene Skullovitch;
Zack's always tried to give Bulk and Skull the benefit of the doubt and never felt any true antagonistic feelings to them. Annoyance sure, but he doesn't hate them. Eugene took a while to warm up to Zack though, because nice doesn't mean trustworthy, and the two eventually started dating when Eugene realized no, Zack really is just that sweet. They run an ice cream parlor together and have two adopted kids. Achibald "Archie" Taylor and Marigold "Mari" Taylor.
Archie was adopted in his teens, and while this means he doesn't get to have as much time growing up with Zack and Skull as his dads, he's got the rest of his life with them as his parents, and that's the best thing he's ever heard. He was adopted out of the foster care system at thirteen, and is nineteen. He loves botany and magic tricks. Being a stage magician or professional botanist would be really really cool. He doesn't play piano or dance but he loves watching Zack and loves listening to Eugene practice at night. Is unsure what he wants to do with his life, but inheriting the ice cream parlor would be nice, if the botany or the stage magician thing doesn't work out. is not associated with a color.
Mari was adopted last year. She's fourteen and getting used to living with her brother and her dads. They're kinda weird, but she likes them. It is weird going to a new school in a new town, with a new last name. She doesn't really know what she likes, she's still figuring it out, but she knows she likes it here and that's good enough. She does miss her old friends and home a little, but she is making new friends. Zack and Eugene give her space and understanding, and Archie's been great with advice and settling in. not associated with a color.
Richie (last name unknown);
Richie was Zack's best friend, and while Zack was at first really interested in Trini, and then in Tommy, he and Zack eventually fell into a natural relationship. It was as simple as anything for them. It is a source of curiosity for when they actually started dating, it was so gradual. Even they aren't really sure. Tommy was chosen to go to the peace convention instead of Zack, and this certainly helped the budding relationship, especially when Tommy gave Richie Saba. Richie was a great ranger, and it was nice for Zack having him with him in battle. They flowed so naturally. While they've never gotten married, everyone agrees they're basically as good as. They've adopted two kids, and have a magic baby Zedd made, a clone that through the bumbling of Goldar and Squatt, was a perfect mix of both of them. They managed to get this teenager reverted to a child, and were just glad this happened in their 20's and not their teens. Their kids are Keller, aged 29, Coda, aged 17, and Ethel, aged 15.
Keller, while intended to be Richie's evil clone, ended up being a child when the dna of Zack and Richie got mixed. How it happened they're not entirely sure, just that Squatt was involved. He's certainly an odd mix of the two, but with their more negative traits more prominent. However, despite this, he was given help and support and love to be able to have a chance at a normal life. Richie named Squatt as his godfather as a joke, but when Squatt heard he took the position extremely seriously and reformed for Keller. Squatt’s been almost more helpful with raising someone like Keller, and Richie and Zack were definitely grateful for the help. He's currently going to school to be a councilor, with monster and power ranger related trauma as his primary focus. There's certainly a lot of people who would benefit from a therapist like him. He's definitely the oldest sibling with the personality and self expectations that entails, and is used to picking the younger two up and out of bad situations at the drop of a hat. not associated with a color though if he was it'd likely be white or pink
Coda's working at the juice bar, mainly saving up for a proper car instead of borrowing the family car whenever he needs to be somewhere. He likes living with his dads and siblings, and thinks Keller's one of the more interesting people to come out of power ranger stuff. Coda wants to be a journalist, and is interested in interviewing Colors themselves. Though only Saba has ever talked to him, and when he did Coda didn't learn much. He wants to be a power ranger specifically to get an interview with his color. A strange motivation, but it will pay off. He will eventually be a silver ranger.
Ethel's not very outgoing, and is extremely shy. She is actually Billy's daughter, but Billy and his partner died when she was very small, and Zack of course adopted her without a second thought. He blames himself for Billy's death and does his best to make it up to Ethel every day. She's shy, quiet, and rather small for her age. Thankfully she's not the target of bullies and is on the school's robotics team. Richie and Zack do worry for her, but she seems to be doing ok. she will be on a team with Coda in a few years as the blue ranger.
Justin (last name unknown);
Justin was the red ranger leader of the Dark team, and Jason's more dark counterpart. Zack didn't really like Jason at first, but he did respect his devotion to his friends. They were dark mirrors for a reason, after all. Once they saved them, Justin and Zack had several classes together and just got close from revolving each other's orbit for so long. Justin got a job as a janitor, Zack as a gym teacher, and they had one kid via a surrogate. Patricia, aged 11.
Patricia is into the concept of vaulting, and likes sports. Serious, dramatic, a huge collector of beetleborgs, and a fan of action movies. She's got a lot of energy, has decided she doesn't like the taste of meat and gone vegan (which has if anything given her even more strength boost). She knows her own mind and her own heart. Her loyalty is rock solid and so is her stubborness. not associated with a color though if she was it'd be violet.
Tina (last name unknown);
Zack was a candidate for the Dragon Coin, and while it was close; he won. Essentially, he and Tommy swapped places. He became Rita's champion, and Tommy took on mighty morphin Black. The whole team tried, but couldn't break Rita's hold on Zack. However; Zack didn't have loyalty to Rita, and when Zedd showed up Zack swapped sides. When he kept losing to the good rangers and later to their sixth, the white ranger Richie, Zack convinced Zedd he needed a team to help him. So, Zedd created the Dark Rangers out of the new group of bullies that had just showed up at the school. Zack settling in nicely as their sixth. Before he'd gone bad he'd been close to Trini, and when he met Tina they hit it off quickly. Together the Dark Team forced the mighty morphin group underground. Zack and Tina have been off and on for several years at this point, and they have a daughter. Suki, aged eleven.
Suki is a belligerant though intelligent child. If you tell her the sky is blue she'll say the sky is gold. Rita and Zedd made good with each other, and Selena is practically an older sister to Suki. They're basically villainous comedic duo, with the added problem of Suki and Selena being perfectly willing to pose as Trini's daughters for the sole purpose of drawing out the hidden mighty morphin. Thrax is actually on the ranger's side, here, a forgotten little brother of Selena and trying very hard to reign in his sister and the little girl who idolizes her. Suki wants to be just like her parents, and her parents are villains. But, she is eleven. Olivia, current mighty morphin black, is trying to gently convince Selena and Suki to go against their parents. It's been slow going. There's time, it's just frustrating.
Marleau Eskin;
Zack was the only one that ever managed to get through to Marleau, for any reason. He was nice, but nice has it's limits and sometimes the nicest thing you can do is just be a little mean. He made her question herself, got her tongue tied, self conscious, and suddenly she was chasing after him, in a completely different manner than she'd ever expressed interest in anyone before. They went to a dance school together, after high school, by complete coincidence. He for contemporary dance, her for classical. She avoided him for a year just because she didn't know what to do with how he made her feel. They finally got stuck in a class as partners for a project together and had a very long conversation about many things, past and present and beyond. Things progressed got serious, and she got pregnant. Her parents had hoped she'd marry someone better than a professional dance choreographer for hollywood musicals, and disinherited her when she eloped. She runs a dance studio and he works for mucical movies as a dance choreographer. They have one daughter, Priscilla, aged 14.
She has two left feet, which is a running joke in the family. Instead she's kind of a brilliant budding politician. When she's old enough she wants to run for class president. Very friendly, very good at problem solving and defusing situations, she's popular and open minded. She wants to be the youngest governor in their state, and she's got the temerity to actually make it happen.

Aurora still hadn’t woken up. It had been three days since the bombing and she still was deep in her coma. The doctors said that her wounds had healed properly and that she should be waking up soon, but nothing had happened since.
She was transferred to a room out of the ICU since she wasn’t in critical condition anymore. All they were waiting for was for her to wake up.
The training for the mission had been postponed, especially since Maverick wasn’t in the right state of mind to train them as well as giving Coyote, Bob, and Phoenix a few days to rest.
Speaking of the rest of the squadron, they all had dropped by at least once a day to check in on Aurora, as well as Bradley and Peyton who spent most of their days at the hospital never wanting to leave her side.
Aurora’s NCIS team unfortunately had left to go back to DC, but not before exchanging numbers with the family so they would still receive updates on her condition. Ziva left the charm bracelet with Bradley, just as Aurora wanted.
He shed a few tears when receiving it because that had meant Aurora still thought of him even in her probably final moments. It broke his heart.
Today was the first day Maverick would be going back to base to talk to the Admirals, and training would be starting back up the next day.
At least, that’s what they had thought.
“What do you mean they took you off the mission?” Penny nearly shrieked at hearing the news.
Penny and Maverick were in Aurora’s hospital room. Peyton, Amelia, and Bradley had left to go home for a bit while Carole and Goose left to bring dinner to Penny and Maverick.
“It means I’m done, Penny. Officially. There’s nothing I can do!” Maverick sighs as he sits in his chair.
“But, what about Ice-”
“There’s nothing Ice can do.”
“So, what? You’re just going to give up?”
“What else can I do, Pen?”
“You fight! If you had lost your wingman, you’d keep fighting. Just like when Goose left.”
“Pen-”
“If anything happens to them, you’d never forgive yourself. You know that.”
Maverick exhales. “I don’t know how to fight anymore Pen. They told me that I should take this time to be with Aurora. Maybe the admirals are right.”
“You and I both know that they’re not. Aurora would hate that you just gave up!”
“She’s right.”
Penny and Maverick quickly turn to the bed that Aurora laid in, which was a sight they were used to.
Except this time, her eyes were open.
“Oh, Rory!” Penny exclaims, rushing to hug her daughter. Aurora grunts from the hug, as Maverick rushes to press the call button for a nurse.
Aurora coughs a bit before Penny hands her a cup of water that was on the table next to her. After taking a chug of her water, Penny gave her another big hug.
Soon, all the emotions hit Aurora and she began to cry.
“I’m so sorry mom, I’m sorry I-”
“Shhh, sweetie, it’s okay, you’re safe now. It’s okay,” Penny assures her. Maverick stood on the other side of Aurora so he could hold her hand.
“We were so worried, Rory, but when we heard what you did, we couldn’t be more proud of what you had done,” Maverick tearfully told her as he brushed her hair out of her face. “It was stupid, but we’re just glad you’re okay.”
Aurora’s eyes bore into her dad’s as it filled with tears. “I fought, dad, just like you wanted me to.”
“I know, princess, I know.”
Aurora took a few seconds before asking him the question that hit him hard. “So why aren’t you fighting to go back?”
Maverick breath hitches. “B–Because maybe it’s time to turn in the wings, Ro. I’m getting old, and I should be spending more time with you.”
“Screw what the admirals say!”
“Rory, language,” Penny warns her daughter.
“You have to keep fighting, because if you give up, you won’t forgive yourself for what happens on that mission. We’re Mitchell’s, it’s in our blood. We keep fighting, no matter what,” Aurora affirms.
Penny chuckles before kissing her daughter’s forehead. Maverick smiles, softly.
“I don’t even know what to do.”
“You’ll find a way, you always do,” Aurora smiles before she squeezes her dad’s hand. “Most likely, something illegal, but you’ll find a way.”
“Aurora Benjamin-Mitchell, don’t encourage your father!” Penny exclaims.
“Oh, please! I bet you he’s already thinking about it! It’s not like I told him to bomb the base or steal a plane!”
“Bomb jokes, really? This soon?” Penny gives her a worried look.
“Then you don’t want to hear any of the jokes Tony and I make when we’re on the field. We got head slaps from Gibbs so many times. I can feel one right now, it’s like Gibbs can tell I made a stupid joke,” Aurora winces, putting her hand on the back of her head as if Gibbs had just head slapped her. Penny rolls her eyes, as Maverick chuckles.
Soon a nurse comes by to take Aurora’s vitals, while Penny and Maverick leave so Aurora can have a bit of space. Penny rushes out to give Sarah a phone call, as Maverick calls Gibbs and the team about her being awake.
A few seconds after the call ended, Peyton, Amelia, and Bradley burst through the double swing doors that were used to enter the wing Aurora was staying at. Bradley was clutching a bouquet of flowers Maverick knew was meant for Aurora, as he liked to replace the flowers every day so Aurora would “wake up with a fresh bouquet” according to him.
Today, the flowers he had in his hand were pink carnations and white roses, symbolizing love and appreciation.
“S-she’s awake? The receptionist, they s-said, h-hold on, give me a second to breathe, I haven’t ran in s-so long,” Peyton bends over panting from running.
“Dude, we just ran from the front desk, which was not even that far,” Amelia gave him a deadpan look. Peyton ignores her and just keeps puffing out air.
“She’s awake?” Bradley looked hopeful at Maverick. Maverick smiled and nodded.
“Yeah, but right now she’s getting checked up on by the nurse, so we’ll wait until she’s done with the assessment. Wait, where’s Goose and Carole?”
“Here!” Goose bursts in dramatically through the double swing doors, holding a bag of takeout in his hands and almost hitting a nurse from the force of it, with Carole shaking her head behind him.
“Goose, careful!” Carole scolds him.
“It’s fine honey, if someone gets hurt, it’s all good because we’re already at a hospital!”
Carole sighs before turning to Maverick.
“We heard what happened. They pulled you out of the mission?”
“Wait, what?!” The trio of children exclaim at the news.
“Don’t worry, I’m going to figure it out,” Maverick reassures them.
The nurse soon walks out of Aurora’s room, saying that they were able to all visit her now. Everyone piled in, with Amelia and Peyton leading the group in, and were the first to hug Aurora.
Amelia and Peyton start tearing up, while Aurora holds them tightly.
To occupy himself, Bradley put the flowers he had in his hand in an empty vase that sat next to Aurora’s hospital bed side, as he already took the older flowers and left them at their house.
The dining table was filled with an older bouquet of flowers that Bradley had gotten for Aurora every day. Peyton complained when he started doing it because he kept sneezing from the amount of flowers, but he stopped complaining after day two.
Carole and Goose were the next ones to hug Aurora next, Carole telling her how worried she was, while Goose kept trying to get Carole to stop nagging her. Aurora soon laid eyes on Bradley, and she started tearing up.
Bradley took that as a sign to rush to his best friend’s side and hug her tightly.
“I’m sorry, B. I’m so sorry,” Aurora whispered.
“Shh, it’s okay. You’re safe now,” he shushes her, as he combs his hands through her hair. She sniffles and they separate from the hug.
“You gave us quite a big scare there little star,” Goose sniffles as he and Carole come to Aurora’s side.
“Sorry, Uncle Goose,” Aurora cringes, knowing she had worried her family and friends.
“We’re just glad you’re alright,” Carole assures her, brushing some of Aurora’s hair back in a motherly gesture.
“Your team had to leave, but I gave them a call and they’re all happy that you’re doing okay and awake,” Maverick told her.
“And,” Amelia spoke up. “They told us about the case.”
Aurora looks at her confused. “What case?”
“You know…the case about…your scars,” Peyton hesitantly tells her. Aurora pales at that and almost starts going into a panic attack if Bradley didn’t rush to hold her hand.
“Hey, hey, you’re alright. No one’s going to hurt you now,” he assures her. Aurora hesitantly looks up into Bradley’s eyes, her eyes filled with tears.
“You all know?”
“We all know now.”
Aurora’s lips quiver thinking back to that case, where she barely had escaped with her life if it wasn’t for her team finding her and saving her.
Amelia and Peyton rushed to Aurora’s side, not only to comfort their sister, but to let her know that they were always by her side. Aurora cries and keeps whispering ‘I’m sorry’ to them, to which they kept telling her it wasn’t her fault.
Aurora was awake, and physically okay. The demons of her past haunt her on her darkest days, but with her family by her side, she was going to be okay. Because they were her light in the dark of everything, her flashlight when she’s lost.
It was about two days since Aurora woke up and right now, she was sitting alone in her hospital room. She was to be discharged soon, and she was grateful for it.
The doctor told her that she just needed a few days of bed rest, and that she should be okay, after they took a few vitals and scans of her. She had a few visitors after she woke up, one of them being Lucille.
“I can’t believe you almost got blown to pieces!” Lucille first said when she stepped into Aurora’s room before launching into a hug.
“Luci, I can’t breathe. Too tight,” was all Aurora could breath out when Lucille latched onto her.
“Oh gosh, I’m sorry,” Lucille lets her go before sitting next to her.
“Besides, it’s not like I could have stood there and done nothing. I had to save the hostages,” Aurora adds.
“And yet, you almost got blown up in the process. I know your job is dangerous, and you probably had gone through worse, but I really thought I lost you RoRo,” Lucille leans on Aurora’s shoulder.
“I’m sorry I scared you, Luci. I promise, you’re not losing me anytime soon.”
“Good, because you owe me donuts for what you put me through.”
Aurora chuckles, before also leaning on Lucille. “Deal.”
And when she didn’t have any visitors, she was able to video call Gibbs and the team.
“We’re so glad you’re doing alright!” Abby exclaims as she smiles at Aurora.
The team had video called her from the NCIS HQ bullpen, and Aurora stares wistfully at the background, missing her old office space.
“Did you hear about the award ceremony that’s going to be happening in a few months?” McGee asks Aurora. Aurora looks at him confused.
“Award ceremony?”
“Director Vance is awarding you the Navy Distinguished Civilian Service Award for your service at NCIS as well as the actions during the bombing case.”
Aurora stares at them. “What?”
“You saved a lot of Navy dependents, plus your work at NCIS. Director wanted to-”
“But I couldn’t save Adam Lewis,” Aurora interrupts. She couldn’t save him, she didn’t believe she should earn an award.
“Artemis, there’s nothing you could have done. He entered that coffee shop knowing his end game was to kill himself,” Ziva assures her.
“I still could have done something.” Aurora whispers, as a tear falls down her cheek.
“Rule #11.” Gibbs reminds her.
“Gibbs,” Aurora pleads.
“Artemis.”
Aurora bites the inside of her cheek before answering him, “‘When the job is done, walk away.’”
“We’re all glad you’re doing alright kiddo, but you need to walk away from the case. It’s done, it’s closed. You need to focus on yourself now.”
Aurora sighs, before nodding about what he said. Abby and Ziva soon start gossiping about what she had missed, with McGee and Tony joining in as Gibbs leaves them to chat.
She had another visitor that she was expecting, which was Jake Seresin.
“I was so worried. You scared us all half to death,” Jake ruffled her hair, and sat down next to her. Aurora had full mobility of everything, so she sat upright in her hospital bed.
“It wasn’t like that was my intention. I had to do my job.”
“Well, your job sucks.”
“My job also happened to save your life, remember?”
“Like you’ll ever let me forget.”
A lull hits in their conversation before Aurora speaks up.
“Have you talked to Peyton?”
Jake shakes his head. “Not really. I think he’s a bit mad at me for knowing about what happened to you and your PTSD before even he did.”
“He’ll get over it. I’m talking about you and him.
“There is no us, Rory. he’s made that very clear.”
“No, what he’s made clear is that he doesn’t want to go through heartbreak again if you’re just going to leave him how you always leave your wingman, hanging,” Aurora insists.
“Ro-”
“Jake, I nearly died. Life is too precious to waste, if you love him, what’s holding you back?”
“I-I don’t want to hurt him.”
“You’re hurting him now by not saying anything. What happens when you both go on the mission? What happens if you don't come back? You really want the last words you ever said to him to be something in passing?”
Jake looked at Aurora. This mission was already something he was nervous for, and now that Maverick was taken off as instructor, the parameters of the mission, although possible, probably would not work if they didn’t stick to the ones Maverick had set for them. They needed Maverick, whether the Admirals liked it or not.
“Just tell him, Jake. It would do you both a lot of good. And maybe he’d stop complaining so much about you,” Aurora snickers.
“We’ll see Ro,” was all Jake could promise her. “Maybe I’ll talk to him after the mission, or maybe even when they tell us who’s flying the mission. I guess we’ll just have to see.”
“When do they decide who’s flying the mission?”
“In 2 days, the day before we leave.”
It was already the next day, which means they will be deciding who flies the mission tomorrow, making Aurora feel even antsier.
From what Maverick had told her, he was going to try and win back his place at Top Gun today, but what was the plan? She had no idea.
Soon she heard running in the hallway and they stopped at her doorway, it was Peyton and Amelia.
“Dad stole an F-18!” Peyton exclaims as he catches his breath.
“HE DID WHAT?!”
“You should have seen him, Ro! He flew through the course like it was a breeze! It was so awesome!”
“Wait, can you go back to the part where he stole an F-18?!”
“Well, not stole, per-se. More like borrowed to prove to the admirals that they couldn’t just kick him off the mission.”
“And?”
“And now he's the team leader!” Amelia exclaims as she sat next to Aurora in the hospital bed.
Aurora’s jaw dropped.”What?!”
Peyton smirks. “My reaction too.”
“I was joking about him stealing an aircraft, but I didn’t know he’d actually do it,” Aurora shook her head, chuckling. Then she realizes her parents were nowhere to be seen.
“So wait, where’s dad now?”
“With mom. They wanted some ‘alone’ time together, as if we don’t know what that means,” Amelia tells her, making air quotes on the words alone.
Peyton and Aurora grimace at the thought of what Amelia was insinuating. But soon Aurora smiles.
“Mom and dad are together…again.”
“We all knew it was going to happen eventually,” Amelia smirks.
“Yeah, but now, it’s real. Like something about right now feels like it’s going to be “it” this time, you know?”
Peyton nods. “Yeah, I’m glad they finally came to their senses.”
“Which means, since dad or mom isn’t here, we are in charge of getting you home.”
Aurora pales. “Uh, I don’t know if I like that.”
“Oh c’mon, we’ll get some tacos on the way home and Amelia can sleepover!” Peyton assures her.
“Okay, that does sound good.”
“And, we can even let Amelia drive!”
“Yeah!” “No!”
Amelia looked sad as her sister shot down the idea.
“But, I need practice,” Amelia whines.
“Ami, when you get your permit, and when I’m not coming from the hospital, you can drive. But for now, we’re going to have to suffer through Pey’s driving.”
“What’s wrong with my driving?!”
“Let’s just say, I’m so glad you didn’t become a pilot with your driving skills, you would be a danger in the skies.”
Peyton scoffs before looking to Amelia for support, but she nods along at Aurora’s statement.
He rolls his eyes before he goes to sign the papers releasing Aurora while Amelia helped her sister get her things together as there were quite a few things people had sent and brought Aurora while she was in the hospital.
Aurora pauses packing staring at today’s bouquet of flowers, provided by Bradley of course. Today they were pink and red roses. She smiled as she touched the delicate petals.
Pink and red, colors that symbolized both Aurora and Bradley, Aurora being pink, and Bradley being red, which also suited him since they were also his helmet colors. She also knew it symbolized love and affection.
“Bradley got so many bouquets of flowers, they’re all waiting for you at home. He didn’t throw any out and he would bring a fresh one every day he came to visit. All meticulously picked out by him,” Amelia interrupts her thoughts as Aurora looks over to her sister who was smiling at her.
“He was really worried about you, Rory.” Amelia continues. “I mean, we all were, but Bradley was distraught. Your boss had to give him a talking to. I don’t think I ever saw Bradley that terrified and scared, even when Auntie Carole got cancer. He truly loves you.”
“I know,” Aurora gives her a small smile before turning back to the bouquet of flowers.
“So, what’s holding you back now? I mean, you should tell him. I overheard what you and Jake were talking about. It seems like it’s time for you to take your own advice. Before it’s too late.”
Aurora stares out the window. “You’re right, Ames.”
Her being in a coma definitely changed everything for her. It made her think about what she could have lost if something did happen to her. She didn’t want to live her life full of regrets anymore. She was ready to leave her past behind.
She was ready to move on and tell Bradley everything.

Tumblr media
"Doll, are you sure your parents are going to like me? I mean, it's my first time meeting them, and if we don't get on, I don't want to be imposing myself for the entire weekend."
"Of course they will! They've heard so much about you, and they've been wanting to meet you for ages now, don't worry. They're so excited to finally meet you, especially my dad."
Tumblr media
"What, so he can shoot me? I don't know, Mira, I just want to make a good impression, it's important to me and I don't want to mess it up with them."
"Don't be silly, my dad's not like that, honey. If he didn't like you, he would have told me, believe me. They'll like you, I promise."
Tumblr media
"Hey sweetheart, welcome home! How are you two doing?"
"Hi Mom! Hi Daddy! We're doing good, Farris is so excited to meet you!"
"That's great to hear! You kids come inside, and we can be properly introduced."
Tumblr media
"How's school, sweetie? Is everything going ok, nothing too hard?"
"It's great, Daddy, I can't believe I'm about to graduate! Farris is graduating at the same time, and then he'll be a fully qualified solicitor. You should ask him about it, I'm so proud of him, it's hard work."
Tumblr media
"Daddy, I'd like you to meet Farris. Farris, this is my dad. Farris is from Willow Creek, and he's studying law, like I said on the phone. We met at the Christian Society that he runs, and I've met his family and they're lovely people. His dad is Maximus Montague, one of the politicians who passed that tax reform, the one that reduced your taxes."
Tumblr media
"Pleased to meet you, sir. I've got to say, your house and Oasis Springs is absolutely beautiful. Mira is such a sweet girl and I'm excited to get to know you and your wife, from what Mira's said you both sound wonderful. And I'm glad you like my father's work, he's an inspiration to me, especially now I'm graduating."
Tumblr media
"It's great to have you here, Farris. I'm happy to know that some of your generation still has ambition and wants to keep up the family legacy, you know? My son, Carter, wants to go into the military and I'm glad he has a goal, but some kids these days just want everything handed to them on a platter, being communists and on food-"
Tumblr media
"Hi honey! I'm Mallory, Mira's mom. It's so great to finally meet you, we've heard a ton about you! Tell you what, why don't you and Markus go to the living room, I think there's a football game on the TV. Me and Mira can fix some snacks and then we'll come join you."
"Oh, thank you ma'am, that sounds great. You're very, uhm, welcoming."
Tumblr media
"Does Farris like chocolate chip cookies? Me and Charlotte made some yesterday, I can put them out on the coffee table."
[whispering] "He does, Mom, but don't you think you might have come off a little intense, hugging him like that? I mean, don't worry about it but I don't think he was expecting it."
[whispering] "I'm sorry, honey, I'm just so excited for you. You're growing up, graduating, and you have a proper relationship now. And he seems great, him and his family, I don't want to make a bad impression, you know? But I'll tone it down if you think that'd be better, sweetie."
Tumblr media
"So, Farris, tell me about this solicitor thing. What type of law are you going into? I'm a Captain in the Army myself, so I can't say I know much about all this academic stuff."
"Corporate law, sir. It's a good career but not the most interesting to talk about, mostly just writing contracts and the like. But you're a Captain? That's a very honorable career, sir, and I bet the day-to-day is much more interesting than law. And you said your son wants to go into the military? That's fantastic that he wants to continue your legacy."
"It is, I'm very proud of all my children. Dolly's doing fantastic at school, and she's got all her new, respectable friends from that Christian Society of yours, and I have to say you've made a good impression of yourself, too. Birdie, her sister, has just gone off to Britechester too, I doubt you know her but she wants to be one of those teachers that helps delayed children, in wheelchairs and stuff. I had my concerns about my girls going to college, but my wife convinced me otherwise and they seem to have been doing great. It's not like they're doing anything inappropriate for women either, a nutritionist and a teacher. Then my boy, Carter, wants to join me in the military, like you said, and he's doing excellent with his sport at school, too. He's on the football team, very impressive for a freshman. And my little one, Charlotte, isn't the most academic, like myself. But she's a pretty girl and she's doing excellent in her pageants. She's just the sweetest little girl too, you'll probably meet her today."
