Movies I Watched in 2023, Worst to Best
I watched 60 movies this year. Imma tell you about them. Also spoilers throughout, obviously.
60. Cats (2019): Genuinely the worst thing I’ve ever seen, and I paid to see Meet the Spartans in theaters. Very glad I drank heavily before viewing this. Can’t tell if it was worse because I’m a fan of the musical or not. I saw this movie and everything is worse now.
59. The Taking of Deborah Logan: Actually a really sound premise that goes off the rails and not in a good way. The lady who plays Deborah deserves an Oscar. Nothing worse to me than wasted potential, and this took a legit unnerving premise and made it a standard demon plot and I’m so very tired of that. Sorry @vaultsy
58. Red String and Blood Tea: This all means something, I just know it, but damned if I know what it is. I can’t really say anything that bad about it because stop motion is an intense labor of love and this clearly took a lot of time and effort, but it just didn’t leave much more of an impression on me.
57. Freddy vs. Jason: I wanted to like this movie really bad, and there were times when I did. But the 2000s stink was positively radiating off it - the slowed down footage, the nu metal blaring everywhere, the shitty costuming, it’s everywhere. Save yourself some time and just watch one of those YouTube videos where someone scrubs the whole movie for just Freddy and Jason’s bits.
56. Ladybug and Cat Noir: The Movie: Look, my girlfriend loves Miraculous. I couldn’t care less about it, but she really wanted me to see this movie and I love her very much. At least it’s very beautiful to look at and it did what it took the tv series a billion years to do.
55. Scrooge: A Christmas Carol: I’m gonna level with you - I watched this because gilf Scrooge intrigued me. Now that we have that out of the way, I can say aside from that, there’s nothing in this movie to really set it apart. A few arbitrary changes and making Scrooge more of an intentional asshole doesn’t set it apart from the millions of other adaptations of this story.
54. From Dusk Till Dawn: The line that separates the Tarantino aspects of this movie from the Rodriguez aspects of it is about as subtle as a brick to the head, but it’s there, and honestly? I wish we would have focused more on the Rodriguez parts. Call me a plebeian, but I never have been fond of Tarantino’s style, nor am I particularly interested in his barely concealed foot fetish. Remake this as two separate movies and I’ll watch the one with the rad ass vampires.
53. Beauty and the Beast (1946): Is this a horror movie? I think this was supposed to be a horror movie. I can’t really fathom how this is supposed to be romantic when there’s creepy living statues, human arm candelabras, and the Beast stealing his romantic rival’s face when he transforms into a human man.
52. Gaslight: Can be genuinely gripping in places, but also kind of boring in a plodding way. The acting is pretty great though - Charles Boyer is an amazingly effective villain and I wanted to give poor Ingrid Bergman a hug.
51. The Bob's Burgers Movie: Kevin Kline and Zach Galifinakis need chiropractors from carrying this movie on their backs. Like, it’s fine if you’re a big fan of Bob’s Burgers (and I was on a BB jag at the time), the songs are fun, and the animation is gorgeously bouncy, but it suffers from the same thing that most movies based on tv shows do - it just feels like a longer episode of the show.
50. The Addams Family: A classic for a reason, though maybe with a bit less pathos than I was anticipating. Still fun, just not as fun as the movie that would come after it.
49. Suspiria: Pretty to look at and goddamn that soundtrack. Not a favorite, but it’s such a cerebral experience that you almost don’t mind all that much.
48. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Kind of suffers from the same problems as Suspiria, with the leg-up of having an absolute banger of a third act. Also Franklin is the worst. Most of the problems in this movie could have been avoided if Franklin wasn’t around. The other ones could be solved by not trespassing on private property.
47. Paprika: Also a very cerebral film, and just as fun to look at. It’s slightly too charming to ever really be boring, but it’s still just kinda meh.
46. They Live: Fun alien designs and a neat idea. Has too many dead Keith Davids to get any higher on the list.
45. Wes Craven's New Nightmare: A fun spin on a dying franchise. I will never stop laughing at Freddy’s stupid trenchcoat and emo boots tho.
44. Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Warriors: More horror adventure than straight horror, but still fun and inventive. Probably has some of the most creative kills in the whole franchise (Freddy leading someone around by their exposed tendons, hello). My only complaint is that the absolute bitch doctor didn't get eviscerated.
43. But I'm a Cheerleader: The gays can have a silly high school rom com. As a treat. I also appreciate the movie adding in that the bible-thumping heteros tend to sexualize kids more than any queer person on this planet.
42. Psycho Goreman: I would like to congratulate PG on his coming out. Mimi was almost too annoying to be tolerable, but this is still a really fun movie with cool creatures and a lot of great humor.
41. Howard: Hi, catch me crying in the last fifteen minutes of this movie. Howard Ashman was an amazing talent and I’m forever depressed that we lost him far, far too early.
40. Little Shop of Horrors: Yeah, this is the first time I’ve ever seen the movie version of this. Gimme a break, I like the musical ending better. That being said, this movie is great camp fun and I love how much love and care was put into it. Also that Audrey II puppet will never fail to impress me.
39. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark: I would like to personally thank Cassandra Peterson for making this stupid, sexy, campy romp that made my life infinitely better.
38: Weird: The Al Yankovic Story: RIP Weird Al Yankovic, wish you could have seen the fabulous movie they made about you before you were gunned down by the cartels.
37. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves: Another movie I saw at my girlfriend’s request, but I also would have wanted to see it for those motherfuckin creature effects. Jarnathan is my husband and I love him dearly.
36. The Super Mario Bros. Movie: Chris Pratt wasn’t in this movie, what are you talking about? It was just Jack Black and Charlie Day having a good time and being extra adorable. That’s all there was. There is no Crisp Rat in my wonderful Mario movie.
35. Black Swan: I’ve heard this described as “live action Perfect Blue” and…yeah. Also I could write entire essays about how Nina’s mother may or may not exist, but we’re not getting into that today.
34. The Wolf House: On a purely technical level, this is a fucking masterpiece. It’s all stop motion (which as previously mentioned is not for the faint of heart), with creative camera work that makes it look like one, long, continuous shot. Add to that the stunningly creepy atmosphere and the framing device of this being a recruiting tool for a cult, and it’s a beautiful nightmare.
33. How to Survive a Plague: Another one that made me weep like an infant. I prefer the book, but this is still a gorgeous tribute to everyone we lost and how far we’ve come.
32. The Girl With All the Gifts: A fun take on the zombie mythos. Also, I for one welcome our new Hungry overlords.
31. Basket Case: Was initially very dubious about the supposed pathos of this film, only to be pleasantly surprised by how true that is. Yes, this movie is schlocky and sleazy (could have lived a long, happy life without ever seeing the Basket Case puppet hump a corpse), but it’s still a great little B-movie.
30. Belle: I’m always a slut for a Beauty and the Beast story, and this one is just hella gorgeous. I would have preferred an extra scene of Justin getting his ass obliterated, but what we did get was wonderful.
29. Nerdy Prudes Must Die: Not my favorite Hatchetfield musical (Black Friday my beloved), but Starkid never put out anything bad. Always a pleasure to see what the Lords in Black are up to.
28. The Sea Beast: I need Grandpa Crow yesterday. Other than that, this was a fun little adventure film that gave me my dose of found family juice. And also it made me realize that there aren’t a lot of straightforward pirate movies anymore? Like, POTC really burned everyone out on those for a while, huh?
27. King Kong (2005): I’ve heard this movie called bloated and boring, but I actually think I love it? Like…maybe it’s just because I’m a monster fucker, but the companionship between Ann and Kong is so beautiful and sad and I nearly burst into tears while she was trying to comfort his as he died. Just let the goddamn gorilla ice skate, you monsters!
26. The Celluloid Closet: Had the opposite of How to Survive a Plague happen - I read the book and wasn’t nearly as moved as I was watching the people actually involved in making these films or other queer icons talking about them. Maybe it was the lack of academic language that made it so much more effective, but while the book is still great for film scholars, the movie is a must-watch for literally everyone.
25. Nimona: We need more feral female characters in general. Also I would never in all my life believe Ballister was a bad guy, simply because he has the most innocent, watery eyes I’ve ever seen that weren’t attached to a small, damp mammal.
24. Citizen Kane: Yes, it took me this long to actually watch this movie for the first time. I was dubious at first, because I’ve seen so many movies that claim to be the best thing you’ve ever seen in your life, and then fall gloriously short of your expectations. This, however, did not do that. I can see why this is a classic. And now you can all be aghast at all the movies that I liked better!
23. Sing 2: Help, I’m crying over Bono the lion dilf! Also this movie is fun and beautiful to look at and the music is amazing. I’m also a proponent of the Shitty Crime Uncle Jimmy Crystal Domestication idea.
22. The People Under the Stairs: More movies should be about the power of community action and solidarity in the face of exploitative gentrification and also blowing up your landlord’s booby-trapped torture dungeon and freeing their kidnapped cannibalistic troll children into the wild.
21. Sense and Sensibility: I’ve never cared that much about Sense and Sensibility as a book - it was strictly middle tier. This movie has changed that. I actually like Edward now, because Hugh Grant just plays him like the autistic king he was always meant to be.
20. Shiny Happy People: No, I do not care that this was a miniseries, it's too good not to include. Watching this show will make you want to deck every evangelical asshat that crosses your path and also terrified of the amount of influence they have in the USA.
19. Black Christmas: Where Chainsaw was kinda boring with a great climax, Black Christmas hits the ground running and doesn't really stop. It's scary, tense, and cinematically gorgeous.
18. Mannequinn: Yes, I liked this movie better than Citizen Kane. No one should listen to my opinion about anything. But it doesn't matter because it's dumb, campy fun and I want Hollywood Montrose to be my auntie.
17. Wishmaster: Absolute ham-to-ham combat between Andrew Divoff, Robert Englund, Tony Todd, Tom Savini. Some amazing practical effects. I wanna kiss the djinn right on the mouth. Only complaint is that I wish the sex pest friend who kept pestering Sam for a date would have stayed dead.
16. From Beyond: This movie had three of my favorite things in the world - moistened puppets, my mommy Barbara Crampton dressing up in a sexy outfit (thank you, Ms. Crampton *blows kiss*), and Jeffrey Combs being a sad, wet kitten man.
15. Renfield: I like that we're making movies about scary vampires again. It's nice. Also Nic Cage is quickly going the way of Daniel Craig and Robert Pattinson - they need to be cast as weird little guys for enrichment purposes.
14. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem: Animation? Charming and daring. Characters? I'm adopted all of them, and loving that all the turtles are actually voiced by children. Superfly? Got me feeling a way. Shredder being teased at the end? Where'd my panties go? Also this movie got me to sixty, so everyone say thank you to Shae for nice, round numbers.
13. Paris Is Burning: It's a classic of LGBT film, if you haven't watched it just to get a taste of the glorious world of drag ball culture, you need to. Stop what you're doing and watch Paris Is Burning. Now. This is a not a request. I will report you.
12. It's a Wonderful Life: I've never seen this show all the way through, so I fixed that this year, and goddamn I always forget how much I like Jimmy Stewart until I see him in another good movie. This movie also got him investigated by the House Un-American Activities Committee for communist sentiments, so all my little anarchists should watch it.
11. Return of the Living Dead: I'd like everyone to meet my husband, Tar Man. He's gonna eat your brains, you'll love it.
10. Re-Animator: I'll never get tired of watching Herbert West being a sassy little cunt to everyone around him, including his co-dependent boyfriend whom he should kiss directly on the mouth. My only complaint is the...um...scene with Dr. Hill's head and Meg. That's all I'm gonna say about it. Because it makes me extremely uncomfy and I can't even enjoy Barbara Crampton's tits because of it.
9. Bride of Re-Animator: Herbert and Dan should have just taken their beautiful daughter to live out the rest of their happy lives at the seaside. Also the effects are fucking amazing. That'll happen when your special effects guys is credited as "Screamin' Mad George".
8. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts: Catch me shrieking like a possessed baboon throughout this entire movie. Everything about it made me happy, from Bumblebee being a bamf to Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal to literally everything about Peter Cullen's Optimus. I will never be over him having enough of Scourge's shit and ripping out his spine.
7. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish: Can't talk. Too blown away by the fact Dreamworks put out one of the most visually stunning and vibrant animated films they have in decades. They are back babey.
6. Glass Onion: I cannot wait to see what else we get from Benoit Blanc. He's the blorbo from my shows and I adore him. Also you know he called up Marta after he got home and was like "hey, there's this friend of mine I want you to meet, I think you guys will get along swimmingly" while fully intending to play matchmaker.
5. Everything Everywhere All At Once: "Nothing matters so being kind and compassionate is even more important" is genuinely such a beautiful thing for a film to say, and I'm glad I finally got a chance to see it in a movie where people fight with dildos and Jamie Lee Curtis' outfit was based on a stock photo.
4. Nope: Jordan Peele owns my soul at this point.
3. To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar: I expected Priscilla but American, and was given a really heartfelt, sweet movie and I legit forgot several times that Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo were cis men.
2. Barbie: I recommend Barbie to literally everyone who asks me about it. It's my religion now. Everything about it is delightful and
1. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: This movie is utter perfection. I would marry it if I could.

boruto chapter 74 spoilers
this manga has become my favorite genre of fanfiction, just four guys living together, but because of the circumstances and the specific four ppl involved i am having a lot of cognitive dissonance about it. i want them to do something stupid like make food together. who is getting these kids groceries
i hate hate hate that eida had kawaki’s head in her lap like i don’t know for a fact that she knows he doesn’t like being touched (and he has gotten over that a bit bc he let naruto pick him up) but like he was unconscious surely that was NOT pleasant for him
i like the evolution of daemon into an absolute creature. a beaste. a grotesque even. but why the fuck did he go down there and beat the shit out of them? what kind of plan was that
mitsuki imo should be smart enough to shrug off eida’s ability?? if sarada and shikadai can? maybe that’s supposed to be like ‘yeah he knows a lot of facts but his problem solving skills aren’t up to those two’ but im not sure that’s true?? the reveal where sarada asked him if he was ok and he said ‘im not sure’ but i didn’t like how he was acting later. cho cho calling eida a romantic rival was cute though. a classic cho cho moment.
is this the first time we’ve seen shikadai since the collar bomb incident? glad he’s doing ok i guess??
and it looks like next ep is just going to be more classic amado exposition. maybe we’ll actually get flashbacks instead of just talking this time! hopefully. i want to see them draw daemon as a scary little babey.
where is this going though i am startled and afraid to ask
OH I FORGOT TO MENTION EIDA FLYING LOL i don’t know what that is, we’ve seen some guys fly in this series. i don’t know if amado was implying that she had some otsutsuki in her? like she is part of their species in some capacity? is this series just becoming dbz and soon we won’t have fights on the ground anymore? who’s to say

Title: Icebreaker
Author: A.L. Graziadei
Genre: YA Fiction | Romance | Drama | Friendship | Sports | LGBTQ+
Content Warnings: Homophobia | Alcohol | Depression
Overall Rating: 8.6/10
Personal Opinion: The romantic tension of a classic rivals-to-lovers story is exactly what you need to unwind these days. Especially with the added element of a found family in the form of a hockey team. Follow the story of Mickey James III who has a legacy to uphold as he works hard to be picked first in the NHL draft. While at the same time, his biggest competition, Jaysen Caulfield, slowly and surely makes him realize there might be more to his life than just hockey.
Do I Own This Book? Nope.
Spoilers Below For My Likes & Dislikes:
Likes:
- The rivals to lovers trope is used exquisitely here. You can just feel the sexual tension in almost every rivalry scene. I just wanted them to make out so badly.
- Depression affects everyone differently but my god, I could relate to Mickey’s depression hard. The nothingness that he describes is accurate to how I was before meds too. And the way he couldn’t focus on any of his work is exactly what I’d gone through in college myself! So this hit real close to home and it honestly makes me so happy to see the author depict depression this way and also show how important therapy and medication is to getting better. Always love a book that advocates for better mental health.
- The bond between Mickey and Nova is so special. You can just tell they’re best friends who love being together. And I love how Nova dished out some of the best advice for him to take better care of himself. I’ll be taking her words, “Do something for you,” to heart myself as well.
- And then we have Mickey and his sisters. I love how close he is to them and how much he genuinely loves them. The way the industry doesn’t give them the time of day because they’re girls sucks but it’s real and I just love that Mickey is their biggest fucking supporter to make up for it. I love how he loves people that appreciate his sisters, the ones that give them the adulation and credit they deserve for being successful and talented women in a male-dominated field. I love that.
- The scene where Mickey and his roommate, Dorian, sat on the docks to talk about their depression is so important to me. It may actually go down as one of my favorite scenes ever. The way they offered to be listening ears to each other, the way they respected each other’s experiences, the way they VALIDATED each other’s experiences? It’s just such a good scene and so important because it normalizes talking about mental health.
- Dorian and Barbie are the best. I love straight boys that are openly and physically affectionate with one another. They’re ride-or-dies for each other and I adore that.
- The scene where Mickey confesses to nothing making him happy to his parents breaks my heart. He was full-on sobbing into their arms and telling them he didn’t know what he wanted at all and I was tearing up with him. The way his parents were there for him made my heart swell too. I love that they were trying to make up for the years that they lost with him. It’s seven years late but I’m still glad Mickey was able to tell them how he’d felt abandoned because now they have no excuse but to try harder for him.
- Cauler saying “What can I do to help?” when Mickey said he was depressed? Iconic.
- Overall this book is a diversity win all around (three named bi characters, a black love interest, two Latinos, a lesbian couple, and even a polycule). I do wish the Asian characters were more than just mentioned. I am so curious about the friendly ex, Jisung, and Alex Nakamoto. But that is a personal thing because I’m Asian so you know, at least they were mentioned and they aren’t bad.
Dislikes:
- If there is one thing that I hate, it’s a protagonist that knows the solution to his problems and the source of his problems but still refuses to do anything about it! Granted that is how depression can work and obviously, that’s how it affected Mickey but my god, he was basically a walking cry for help without ever actually crying for help. A mess. And his sisters and Nova were all telling him the solutions to his issues and yet he still refused to talk to his father about anything! And what makes this worse is that his father was so accepting of the fact that his son may not want to play hockey and was in a relationship with a man and yet Mickey spent the last seven years hating him!
- I think, overall, Mickey and Cauler are cute. But I think rivals to lovers may not be for me. As much as I love it in theory. Or maybe it was taken to extremes in this case. Because Cauler was out here egging Mickey on and very violently checking him every chance he got in chapter one. I don’t know, it just felt wrong. I get why Mickey rubbed him the wrong way but being malicious toward him without knowing shit about what Mickey was going through bothers me.
- I’ve also never liked sports stories where coaches scream at their players for losing and when players aren’t 100% supportive of one another. Or at least, I feel like someone should have gone to see how Mickey was doing. All that rivalry stuff was clearly getting to him and the Your Grace stuff too. But no one stopped to check in on him except his damn algebra professor who noticed him dissociating during the midterm and decided to help by giving him the number to the counseling center and allowed him to retake the midterm. God, he is surrounded by people who all had the opportunity to check on him when he was a zombie and yet they didn’t! I know that the onus could’ve also been on him, especially since Dorian already offered a listening ear, but oh my god, how did no one notice him dying on the outside? There’s a fucking compilation of him saying “Kill me.” It should have been obvious that he wasn’t okay!
- Something about the ending is lacking for me. I don’t actually know what it is. I know this book doesn’t set out to change the NHL’s macho heteronormative culture but I still kind of wish there was some publicity on the relationship between Mickey and Cauler. Mickey even says he wants an active hockey player to come out but not him, he’s too afraid to. But it’s like, why not you? Why not be the first? You and Cauler can be a beacon of hope and love for so many young queer sports fans and yet, they’re not? At least be public with the team and tell me what they all thought!

Please Fix the Story pt 26 - The Higher Realm
The Higher realm continues. So close to the end!
Master post linked here
Enjoy!
______________________________
Time passed, but it was difficult to tell how much. Time worked so differently in the different realms. How long did we really spend trying to save one lower realm? Minutes? Decades? It felt like no time and forever. Adonis and I traveled to lower realm after lower realm, fixing the stories, stabilizing the world before heading back to the higher realm.
Some lower realms were easy, if a bit annoying, such as the high school dramas. In those I would often play the “average” new girl at a school. I would meet new people, and was supposed to go on to have romance, betrayals and coming of age realizations. I quickly realized that befriending all my supposed romantic leads instead of dating them, reconciling with my rivals instead of humiliating them, and pushing towards success all together was a much more satisfying strategy. Fortunately, graduating valedictorian with a happy and psychologically healthy group of teenagers often stabilized worlds that had been torn apart by half-baked character design or infighting between rivals.
I took calculus so many times that I could recite lessons in my sleep, but at least the worlds were saved. Despite our success, however, Adonis was often frustrated. He had his own vision of how we were to save these realms. His plans almost always involved us dating, making the high school romance “successful”.
I refused.
He had been a lot more likable since our first meeting, and I was able to consider him a close friend and ally… but I felt uncomfortable at the idea of even pretending to have a romantic relationship. It was definitely a more difficult route to stabilize the world without a romance, but I chose it every time. Adonis pouted and complained, but couldn’t argue with success, and I was successful.
Some lower realms were more difficult. In particular, zombie apocalypse stories were my least favorites. The worlds often couldn’t be stabilized until a cure was found or humanity’s survival was assured. This meant that Adonis and I sometimes spent decades within these realms, working to build armies, or teams of scientists. There was hardly ever any running water, which meant showering was few and far between.
My unwashed self was made even filthier by my absolute failure at using anything with range. Bow and arrow, guns… anything that would keep me out of the gore, I couldn’t hit even the largest of monsters. Fortunately I picked up a sword with relative ease, which allowed me to fight… but this also meant I got covered in rotten blood and guts.
I hated zombie worlds the most.
Realm after realm. We worked constantly, spending very little time in between in the higher realms. Adonis would often try to use those moments to push his ideas regarding fate and the higher realm’s story, but as soon as I rejected him, which I did every time, he would simply scowl and pull us into the next lower realm to save.
It was getting old.
“How many lower realms are there?” I asked one evening as we recovered from our latest mission, rubbing my sore shoulder where I had taken a blow in the last sci-fi alien battle. The wounds disappeared with the realm traveling, but my mind still could feel the wound, projecting the pain long after I had left that form behind.
Adonis leaned back in his chair, his grin a little too bitter to be a natural expression. “How many unfinished stories are there? Infinite, Bel. There are infinite lower realms. We will never be able to save them all. Not like this.”
“It’s not like there’s a lot of options.”
“There are options. You just don’t want to hear them.”
“What, this fate you keep talking about?” I sighed, closing my eyes, tired. “ It sounds like a terrible idea.”
“It’s not.” His voice was quiet, but the intensity shown through all the same. “It’s our duty. Everyone’s survival depends on it.”
“But what you’re saying is: we follow along some sort of script…”
“Fate.”
“…fate… here, in the higher realm. And that is somehow supposed to fix the lower realms?”
He chuckled. “You’re oversimplifying it, but pretty much. We follow our fate, and the heroes of the lower realms will find their happiness tied to ours.”
“What if they don’t want that ending? What if they don’t want that happiness?”
“Of course they do! Everyone wants a happily ever after with their destined one.” He snapped. My eyes flickered open to study his enraged expression.
“I don’t.”
“You’re selfish!”
I shrugged. “Am I? If you’re right, we submit to fate here, everyone in the lower realms gets an automatic happy ending… but most of those worlds aren’t breaking because they don’t have a happy ending. They need a wider world, different ideas… and what about the side characters, even the villains… what about their happiness?”
“They don’t matter.”
“Why not?” I raised an eyebrow. “Just because they’re the villains?”
“They’re evil.” He stood up, trying to tower over me. An intimidation tactic, one that might have worked before we’d spent countless years fighting in life-or-death battles together.
“Have you met the heroes and heroines of some of these realms?” I laughed. “They’re not much better. I don’t think these roles are as clear as you would like them to be. And I don’t think you and I having a happy ending together, and forcing a simplistic ‘and they lived happily ever after’ on all the lower realms will actually fix them. In fact…” I stood up, and he stepped back slightly at the danger in my tone. “I bet we would break them all the more. Are you really so foolish as to think that saving a universe of worlds would be so simple?”
“…” Adonis was gritting his teeth, his hands clenched so tightly the knuckles were white. But I didn’t back down. Didn’t step back. I knew he wouldn’t hit me. He wouldn’t dare step out of the role he imagined himself to be in. Wouldn’t dare cross a line that might ruin his chances at the happy ending he seemed to crave so desperately.
“…” The silence stretched on between us. We were at an impasse. He wanted to follow fate. He wanted clearly defined roles and rules to follow. And I?
I wanted freedom.
*** Soul transfer 11% complete. ***
It’s been forever since I last saw those words… I thought it had disappeared. For some reason, I felt a deep sense of relief at the glowing blue sentence. Something within me had frozen during these many trips to the lower realms, but finally it was growing again.
“The next world is waiting.” Adonis spoke up, his tone flat. I noticed an odd shifting of his gaze, a reluctance to meet my own, and felt a sense of unease.
I won’t like this next world. I cracked my knuckles and gave him a thumbs up. Well, no sense running from a challenge.
We left.
______________________________
I woke up in a luxurious canopy bed. Staring up at the fabric , I raised my arms and have a cheer.
“YES! NOT A ZOMBIE WORLD!”
On the downside, the setting appeared to be a more primitive era, medieval at best, which meant no running water, but at least I appeared to be noble or wealthy.
At least if I suffer, I’ll be clean while I do it!
“Princess?” A young woman dressed as a servant entered the room, seeming very confused. “Are you all right? I heard you yelling.”
I smiled brightly at her. “No worries. It was just a nightmare.”
She visibly relaxed. “Even so, you seem in a much better mood, if I may say so.”
“Really?”
“Yes, you haven’t broken a single thing this morning.” She, unfortunately did not seem to be kidding. “I’m so glad you’ve accepted your father’s decision.
I didn’t have my character’s memories yet. I needed to accept the mission first. In the meantime, acting too out of character could destabilize an already poorly functional world.
“I’m still… thinking it over.” I spoke up cautiously.
“It’s not so bad, your highness.” She smiled at me. “Most young girls feel a little uneasy when their father arranges their husband. But you’ll be happy. I just know it.”
Arranged marriage?
“After all, Prince Harold is reported to be a true gentleman, a might warrior, and a handsome young man!” She sighed dreamily. “Any woman would be thrilled for a chance to be his bride.”
“I’m. Sure.” I spoke through gritted teeth, the satin sheets crumpling in my grip. Adonis, when I find you, I’m going to make you regret every life decision you’ve ever made… and the ones you’ve only considered making. What kind of lower realm did you land us in? As I plotted my revenge, the mission screen popped up.
**** NEW WORLD: A Divided Kingdom****
This is a romance fantasy story featuring a prince and a princess from different kingdoms, putting aside their differences to save the world.
“I already don’t like this.” I muttered.
The Princess Alaire of the Yenlar Kingdom was a clever, independent woman, horrified at the idea of an arranged marriage. Prince Harold of the Bestion Kingdom felt differently. He fell in love at first sight and vowed to woo the young maiden. The couple was different in almost every way, and seemed destined to bicker and fight.
“Then how about we don’t get married?”
But fate had other plans…
“Of course it did!”
A terrifying beast threatened to destroy both their kingdoms, and to survive, the political marriage had to go forward. Uniting the kingdoms, and therefore their armed forces, was the only way to save their people.
However, despite the happy ending, the first book was not well received by readers and the trilogy was abandoned due to poor sales. The reason given was that the romance was “forced” and unbelievable.
Your mission is to bring a satisfying end to the story, while making ensuring the survival of both kingdoms.
**** DO YOU ACCEPT THIS MISSION? ****
YES? NO?
“Quick question.” I spoke quietly to the glowing words in front of me. “Do I have to marry the prince to ensure an ending?”
The kingdoms will not unite without the political marriage.
“That wasn’t what I asked. I asked if I HAVE to marry the prince. What if I can save both kingdoms without a political marriage?”
The stability of the world is all that matters.
“No lecture on the necessity of fate?”
**** DO YOU ACCEPT THIS MISSION? ****
YES? NO?
I grinned. “Sure. Let’s do it.”
As the words faded away, I jumped out of bed. My head spun slightly as I accepted the memories from the poor princess of the original story.
She had not been happy.
She had dreams, ambitions. The Kingdom of Yenlar allowed for women to inherit the throne, and as the firstborn she was ready to take over from her father, to rule her nation. She had spent her entire life preparing. Studying law, economics, warfare…
And all of it had meant nothing in the end.
She had begged for a political treaty. One that did not involve marriage. The Kingdom of Bestion had refused to even discuss it. They stated that there was too much distrust between the kingdoms to move forward without some sort of permanent assurance. Even the threat of annihilation from the ancient beast of legend wasn’t enough to have them reconsider. That wasn’t the full story, though.
Later she discovered that Prince Harold had seen her at a party. He had supposedly fallen in love with her at first sight, and became determined to marry her. He had learned of her plans to marry a minor noble, one who would support her position on the throne without causing an imbalance of power within the nobility. He had no chance, as far as she was concerned. The threatened destruction of their people was just the perfect opportunity to force the matter.
She had lost all power. Becoming a figurehead, a beautiful statue beside the true king, Harold. He ruled over both nations with an iron fist, treating her own people more harshly, much to the approval of his staff. She slowly became bitter and deranged, watching the destruction of the people and the nation she loved so dearly.
Beyond the end of the first book, when the realm’s story ended, she had attempted to poison him and failed. Harold had been disappointed, but felt that she still had use as a figurehead. They faked a stroke, and kept her mute and weak with poisons. A lovely doll. A perfect figurehead.
…is this a fantasy or a horror? Sheesh, no wonder the trilogy wasn’t going to sell. I shuddered, still standing awkwardly next to the beautiful bed that had belonged to a lovely young woman.
I will change this story. I spoke silently to the memories, feeling a sense of relief that didn’t belong to me as I did so.
First, let’s try to reason with Adonis. He and I had worked together in multiple realms, side by side. We were friends. We may not see eye to eye when it came to our approach towards fate and the lower realms, but he had never forced me to do something I didn’t want. He had always respected me and backed off when I said no, even if it made him unhappy.
Hopefully this time will be the same. I thought uneasily. Hopefully he will listen.

“No.” His tone was gleeful, but his face was calm, towing with a silver goblet rather than meeting my gaze.
“Are you joking?” I leaned forward, keeping a gentle smile on my face to fool the guards and our fathers who sat on the other end of the enormous dining table.
“I’m perfectly serious, Princess Alaire. Our kingdoms face certain doom at the hands of the ancient beast. The only way to survive is to work together. We can only work together if we trust each other. The only way the Kingdom of Bestion will trust the Kingdom of Yenlar is with a marriage alliance. It’s out of my hands.”
I reached forward and took the cup from his hands, forcing him to look at me. “Why are you forcing this, Adonis? You know it didn’t work out so well for the originals.”
“Careful Princess.” His eyes glanced over at the nearby guards. “You don’t want anything to destabilize the situation further, now do you? Better to act as a proper princess should.”
“Answer the question. This plan already failed. Why do you think it will work?”
“Simple.” He leaned forward and plucked the goblet back from my hands. “We’re different. You may not want to admit it, but we have spent lifetimes at each other’s side. Growing up, going to school, facing enemies, fighting together… we could make this work. It would be a wonderful ending.”
“You know what happened to Alaire after the first book.”
“I would never do that to you.”
“But you are.” I growled, wishing I could punch him. “You are trying to make me a beautiful figurehead, just like Harold did to Alaira.”
“We would rule side by side.”
“What use is that promise, if you are already ignoring my wishes and forcing me to do this in the first place?”
He shook his head. “You have to trust me. This is the only way we can defeat the monster, and stabilize this realm. We’ll save this world. Together.” He smiled. “It’s our fate.”
I threw a plate at him, forcing him to fling himself on the floor to avoid injury. Walking out, I ignored my father’s shouts of rage. Picking up a bag I had packed ahead of time, just in case, I changed into some light armor, grabbed a sword, and headed out into the forest.
If I couldn’t win by a political alliance, I was going to find another way to save the world.
I was going monster hunting.
I searched Princess Alaira’s memories of the legends and stories, going out in a northern direction towards the area known as Death Valley.
As I marched onward, my thoughts wandered over the time I had spent since I had woken up in the Higher Realm. I couldn’t help but feel disappointed with Adonis. He might truly think that he was saving the world by insisting on going through with the marriage, but his lack of willingness to even consider other options was frustrating. He was the only person consistently by my side through every one of these worlds, someone I considered a friend, and being unable to rely on him served to make me feel all the lonelier.
My mind briefly touched on the assassin of the first realm, Liam. I had thought with his comments and actions that he had known about my mission… that he might be from the higher realm too. But no matter how much I looked for him, no matter how much I hoped to see him again, I never did.
Maybe I was wrong. Maybe he was someone from the lower realm, and I’ll never have the chance to see him, to thank him.
I felt a sense of despair. How long can I keep doing this? Is this why Adonis preaches following our fate so much? Is he as tired of traveling, tired of the missions and the different lives? Is he just hoping to end all this?
I sighed, keeping moving. I’m not that tired, not tired enough to sacrifice my freedom. Not yet, anyways.
It took several days of traveling. Fortunately from my years of experience in zombie worlds, I was well prepared to survival in the wilderness. At least here the rivers were clean, allowing me to bathe occasionally. Finally I was at the entrance of the valley, staring up at the pillars on either side.
There were ominous words carved deeply into the stone.
Only death lies ahead.
I stared at the words silently for a few moments, and then shrugged.
“Still better than marrying Adonis.”
I moved forward.
______________________________
The valley was dark, a deep fog settled in permanently, apparently unaffected by the weather beyond its borders. Dark twisted purple trees rose all around me, their roots tearing through the earth desperate searching for nutrients. The valley was quiet, suffocating in an unsettling silence. My presence there felt like an intrusion, my instincts screaming at me to run away, to escape.
I kept moving.
There were no other signs of life. But I knew at least one other being lived here, the reason why nothing else dared to.
The Ancient beast.
There were no descriptions of it in the legends. Just that it was deadly, enough to take on entire armies. And that it was terrifying.
I feel like I should have seen something by now, if it was so large. I sighed, sitting on one of the trees, staring up at the mountain ahead of me. Shouldn’t it be easier to find an enormous beast that terrified an entire world?
Wait.
I looked up, struggling to see the top of the mountain in front of me.
I’m in a valley…
The mountain moved up and down, with regular motions.
There shouldn’t be a mountain here.
It was breathing.
I drew my sword, inwardly despairing. I had underestimated the sheer scale of the monster. I had thought it would be the size of a house, an elephant. Instead it towered stories above me, unimaginably large.
I was doomed.
There was a rumble as the beast in front of me shifted. I couldn’t tell the shape, just an impression of scales and spikes. Slowly, something lowered down in front of me, stretching forward in all directions, filling my vision. I saw teeth larger than my own body, the white of them contrasting with the dark fog around us. As I prepared myself for my death, an eye opened to stare at me.
It was a beautiful dark blue.
“…”
Suddenly, I felt relief. It was incomprehensible. I was standing in front of an ancient beast, enormous and terrifying, and instead of fear and dread… I felt safe.
I raised a hand, almost despite myself. “Hello there.”
The eye blinked. I comforted myself that it hadn’t eaten me yet.
“I think you look awesome. I’m Princess Alaira from the nearby kingdom of Yenlar. I actually came here to kill you, to protect my people… but now I realize that you could crush me like an ant, and that was a bad plan.”
The eye blinked twice. It seemed more confused than anything.
“I have a much better plan, if you would be willing to listen to me.” I let out a laugh, slightly startled at how… villainous it sounded.
*** Soul transfer 20% complete. ***
The creature let out a sound like thunder. I felt that it was laughing too.
______________________________
The wedding was this morning.
I was surprised as I drew near to see the party going. You would think that after I disappeared, they might have canceled or delayed it. I assumed that Adonis had felt sure that I would agree with him in the end. That I wouldn’t be able to let the world end just because I didn’t want to marry him.
Well too bad, buddy. This princess has a different plan in mind!
I could see him, standing on the elevated stage before two thrones, waiting. I couldn’t see his expression from this distance, but I imagine he was barely hiding his worry. Alaire’s father and Harold’s father were also waiting on the platform, their postures betraying their impatience.
“Let’s get this party started!” I yelled.
ROOOOOOOAAAAAAR!
The ancient beast let out a triumphant roar as he flew closer and lowered his head, letting me jump down onto the platform before landing behind me, a large, threatening mountain of a creature.
“Alaire?” The king called out, confused. “What are you doing?”
“Hello, Father.” I also nodded to Adonis, who stared back.
“What is this?”
“Your daughter is a witch!” The King of Bestion shouted, drawing his ceremonial sword. “She betrayed us!”
“Hold on, father.” Adonis held out his hand, stopping his attack. “I’m sure it’s not what it looks like.”
I grinned.
“Nope. It’s exactly what it looks like. I’ve teamed up with the Ancient being. We’re friends now.” I gestured at the monster high above us, who let out a grim chuckle, shaking the ground. “So now I make the rules, got it?”
“…”
“I’ll take everyone’s stunned silence as happy agreement! Now, first rule: Wedding canceled.”
“What?”
“What?”
“You can’t do this!”
The three other royals on stage shouted simultaneously. I simply pointed again at the enormous creature.
“I can do whatever I want. The big scary monster behind me says so. Next, the kingdom of Bestion will surrender to me, as will the kingdom of Yenlar.”
“You want to rule the world?” Adonis’s gaze was… disappointed. I grinned shamelessly. “Nope. But here’s the thing: Our kingdoms face certain doom at the hands of the ancient beast. The only way to survive is to convince the monster not to kill us. The monster only trusts me. So I have to rule both kingdoms.” I shrugged. “It’s out of my hands.”
I threw his words from earlier back at him, and felt satisfied as he winced in recognition.
“We… surrender.” His words were quiet, defeated.
“You unruly child!” My father tried to shout, but a roar from the monster above us silenced him. He quickly surrendered too. I accepted both surrenders, quickly organizing the meetings to bring our governments together under one rule. Fortunately, the princess’s years of study served me well, guiding me smoothly through the process.
______________________________
I had one more confrontation with Adonis, the night before the coronation. He was escorted to my rooms by guards, saying he had a request. I hesitated briefly, but allowed him in, waving the guards behind the door so we could speak freely.
“What was that?” He shouted as soon as they had left.
I stayed sitting, forcing myself to be calm. “I fixed the story.”
“You ruined everything! Even if it stabilizes this world, it will ruin it in the long run.”
“Says you.”
“Trust me.” He threw up his hands as he paced back and forth. “Everything will go a lot smoother if you STOP CHANGING THE STORY.”
“I thought that was why we were here, though?” I sighed, leaning back in my chair and cleaning my nails with a blade. “To fix the lower realms, to save these worlds? That requires change, right?”
He paused in his movements, glaring at me. “Stop acting stupid. These worlds are broken because they didn’t follow the rules. We have to follow them perfectly.”
“I don’t want to though.” I shuddered. “No offense, but if the story is going to require us to have a romantic relationship, I’m finding an alternate solution.”
“That’s what the story requires, you have your role to play. You know the consequences of not playing the right part.”
I sighed. “No, there’s always different paths to take. You’re a good friend, and I’m glad to have you by my side, but that’s different than love.”
“…”
“You clearly don’t love me either, so why are you making such a fuss about this? As long as we complete what we came here to do, that’s all that matters, right?”
“…”
“Right?”
Adonis stepped closer to me, his atmosphere slightly threatening. “Why are you so different from what you are supposed to be?”
“What are you…?”
“Why can’t you just accept.”
His hand grabbed my wrist, the grip painful.
“your.”
He pulled me closer until our faces were inches apart. His bright blue eyes were blazing with anger as they stared into my own.
“fate.”
Letting me go, he walked away, putting some distance between us, before turning back to face me.
“This lower realm is stabilized. We should return.” His smile was cold. “The next mission is a little different from our previous ones. We’ll talk about it later.”
“…”
“And next time…?” He laughed, a bitter sound. “You’ll play your part whether you want to or not.”
THUD.
The blade in my hand threw through the air, stabbing into the wall inches from his face. I smiled cheerfully as he looked back at me, shocked.
“Try touching me again, and I’ll cut off something you’ll miss. We’ll discuss missions and roles again in the higher realm, but for now?” I rang a bell and guards came in, escorting him out. “I have a coronation to plan.”
______________________________
My coronation was held outside so that the Ancient beast could stand behind me. It seemed cheerful, letting out victorious roars and swaying from side to side. The people cheered as well, seeming a lot happier than I expected them to be. I guess they’re relieved that they won’t be eaten by the giant monster? I wondered idly how I was going to incorporate the creature into the day to day life of a monarch. For an odd reason I had very little doubt that the monster would stick around.
However, all my plans came to nothing. As the crown was placed on my head, bright blue words formed in the air in front of me:
100% complete.
**** You have finished the mission! ****
It was time to go.
At little sad, I looked up at the ancient monster above me. “Thank you, friend for your help. I wish I could stay with you longer.”
A mournful cry echoed through the world. It seemed to understand that I was leaving. Before I could say anything more to reassure it, the world around me shimmered and disappeared.
Only to reveal a furious Adonis standing in front of me.
“Happy now, Your Majesty?” He sneered.
“Oof, someone’s still a little angry that I used an ancient monster conquer the world. Believe it or not, I’m sorry that I’ve hurt you. But you know why I did what I did. Let’s talk about it in the morning.”
I walked away, feeling his glare on my back long after I was out of sight.
______________________________
When I woke up, I realized that I couldn't move.
I panicked, struggling to move my arms and legs, only managing to turn my head slightly. Enough to see Adonis’s smug expression as he sat by my bed.
“It’s time for our story to progress, Bel.” His smile was strange, twisted. I couldn’t talk back, I shook my head slightly side to side.
“I’m the hero, you are the heroine. If the relationship between us can’t be advanced by working together, than it must be forged in adversity." He reached down and picked me up, carrying me out of the small cottage I had arranged for myself and into the castle courtyard. Whatever drug he had injected me with was slowly wearing off, and I struggled in his arms, finally able to shout.
“Put me down!”
To my surprise he did, and although I struggled to stay upright, I kept my balance and glared at him.
“What are you planning?”
He sighed quietly. “I’m tired of always being the one to compromise. It’s time for you to make a sacrifice, Bel. I’ve avoided this so far, worried that progressing our story this way would kill you, but it seems that it is our fate that we take this risk. It’s… unfortunate. I do very much hope you don’t die.” He paused, trying to smile at me. “Don’t worry. It’s only temporary. I’ll come and rescue you soon.”
“A sacrifice?” I felt cold, even as I stood in the warm afternoon sun. My thoughts were slow to form, possibly a side effect of the medication. “Why?”
He shrugged. “There’s an order to everything. Rules. Law. They are all that stand between us and pure chaos. No one can ignore them. Not you. Not even me.”
“Then sacrifice yourself, asshole! Why send me?”
He shrugged. “It’s your role to play, not mine. Your fate.”
“Screw fate! I don’t care if you say it’s temporary or not! Friends don’t sacrifice friends!” I was furious, still weak and feeling helpless.
His hand reached out and brushed my cheek, the touch freezing my skin. I wanted to move away but I could still barely move, only managing to glare at him. “Don’t look at me with those eyes. It’s not my fault. If you want to blame anyone, blame the story.”
“Ad…”
“Sorry, you must accept your fate.” I felt a pinch in my arm, the stick of a needle as he injected something into the muscle. Immediately darkness overwhelmed me.
“We all do.”
Everything faded into darkness.
______________________________
When I woke up, I was in a strange world, surrounded by forest. I lay on my back, still feeling weak, fury coursing through my veins.
Adonis and I had worked well together, despite arguing multiple times in the past. But now… any goodwill I had towards him was gone. He had betrayed me. Knocked me out and sent me to somewhere dangerous, somewhere I could be killed, just to follow his precious fate. To get the story he wanted.
“Are you lost?
I looked over at the source of the voice. It was a tall young man with dark hair, wearing grey, non-descript clothing. He kneeled down next to me, and I found myself staring into dark blue eyes.
“Seems a good description for my current situation.” I smiled despite the dizziness. “Nice to meet you, Stranger.”
He grinned, reaching out a hand to help me up. “Call me Liam.”
Liam? Could he be…?
“…Nice to meet you, Liam.” I laughed. “Or should I say: nice to see you again?”

The makings of greatness, or why, as a ride or die Treasure Planet stan, I’m glad there’s no Treasure Plant 2
You ever see somethings that makes you unreasonably angry? Yes I understand exactly what I’m saying, and how that indicates that my emotions and opinions on this are exactly that. Opinions. There’s a good chance I have some objective truths mixed in, but that does not make my opinions based on those truths truth. If you disagree or have different tastes or opinions or interpretations, cool, let me know! maybe you’ll change my mind. That being said.
The plot synopsis for the Treasure Planet sequel makes me angry. Not like, actively so, just annoyed enough to be in a bad mood. And now you guys all have to be in one as well. Why?
Reason 1, and probably least important: Disney sequel syndrome.
Ok so Disney sequels aren’t inherently bad. I’ll stan the Aladdin sequels to my grave, who knew Cinderella could world build, obligatory Rescuers Down Under (the first one was better) blah blah blah.
But there is an inherit problem with sequels in general, and that usually has to do with cast and crew. An original piece of fiction has to grab the audience yes, but there’s also freedom in that. Media touches people in different way. The worldbuilding can mean more to some than others. Some are in it for the animation, or the character developments, or relationships. What connects with one person won’t connect with another. The problem with sequels is that different people who worked out the original material might and usually do not work on the new. And those new people are already working on that new material with their own personal lenses and experiences and interpretations coloring the old. The reason sequels (and remakes, and big budget presentations of other materials like books into movies) tend to bomb hard is because you are essentially being forced to accept someone’s fanfiction into the canon material. Usually, there’s a pretty strong correlation between more successful franchises/extension material, works staying true to the core material, original crew working on the material, and the enjoyment of the audience.
And sources say very few of the original crew remained. Some yes, but mostly voice cast. Even worse, TP2 was a DisneyToon production, not even a mainline feature. Now I’m not saying the new people weren’t talented, or passionate about the project, or were lacking in experience. It doesn’t really matter if any of those things are true or not. It’s the warping of their personal lenses I don’t trust. Fanfic I can disregard, meta I can disregard. This would have been canon.
And reading the Artbook makes is abundantly clear that the parts that touched me personally would have been missing. The very core of Treasure Planet for me was the relationship between Jim and Silver (and their exquisite animation budget). However you choose to interpret that relationship, you can not deny that Treasure Planet is a powerfully emotionally romantic movie. It’s quiet moments and emotional resonance shaped my views of intimacy with a sharp and fine touch. Silver and Jim’s bond is as undeniable and powerful as it is compelling and awe inspiring to witness unfold.
And a lot of that is owed not only to  the voice acting of Joseph Gorden-Levitt (Jim) and Brian Murray (Silver), But to animators Glen Keane and John Ripa, who were the head animators of Silver and Jim respectively. Not only did Gorden-Levitt and Brian Murray deliver stunning performances, but made sure to work together and jointly play off each other in ways most voice actors don’t have the opportunity to do. And the Masters Keane and Ripa took an already stellar and carefully crafted vocal rapport and took it one step further. I highly recommend the Artbook as a good read, both Keane and Ripa talk about the journey of discovering who Jim and Silver were with delight, acting out entire scenes together using their own body language to build the characters together, using the same animation reals to animate, tag teaming in and out of the program rather than do it separately, becoming so attuned with their characters attitudes and mannerisms that you can tell they poured entire pieces of themselves into Jim and Silver.
I’m not saying the Sequel would have been inherently bad because it’s a sequel, or because a new crew worked on it, but I am saying I wouldn’t trust it with a ten foot pole.
Reason 2: Thanks I hate it (I’m saying it’s inherently bad because the plot is bad and I hate it)
I’m sorry for the length, but for you to really understand just how bad this is, I actually have to pick through every single line and tell you why it fails critically at some junctures and where it would be so simple to fix. For those of you who were unaware that there was a sequel in the works at some point, I’m pulling these quotes pretty much wholesale from the AnimateVeiws article Buried Treasure: The ill-fated voyage to Treasure Planet 2, specifically the interview with Jun Falkenstein who was set to direct the now canceled sequel. Spoiler warning, I guess?
So, from the begining
“The sequel was to pick up where the first film left off, with Jim Hawkins going to the Royal Interstellar Academy. At the Academy, he is a hotshot “natural,” but he doesn’t follow the rules very well.” - Strong start but then dropped the finish. I think the interstellar academy would be a very compelling starting point. I see no fault in it at least, it’s a good opportunity to world build. Clemence and Musket like to make a point that Jim was crafted to connect with the emotionally wounded and distant youth in a age of divorce, so showing what happens when that youth hikes up their britches and gets to work can extend on that theme aaaaaaand you dropped it. Dropped that strong start. Yes, Jim was more than a bit of a bite back rebel in the film, but that was a reactionary response to the bad place he started in. Jim was abandoned, and tied his self worth into that abandonment. His kickback against society was a reaction stemming from an inability to see his personal worth and any sort of future he could craft from it. He outgrew this, his very character development was about this in the film. His character arc was about realizing his inherent worth, embracing a sense of confidence and learning what he could do. Even disregarding that, bonus material outside of the film shows that Jim has a very strong sense of respect for Captain Amelia, her military career, and the hard work she put into it, and he’s there on her recommendation. Why would he act out in this? He is a natural yes, but the film shows he’s incredibly sharp and intelligent, if unlearned, and more than ready to learn given opportunity.
“Hence, he gets off to a shaky start – especially with his classmate Kate, who is very smart and has a type A personality. Kate’s father is Admiral Blake, the Commander of the Navy. Jim and Kate vie for top of the class but have very different skills.” - So building off this to fix the problem before. I guess the dynamic they are going for is something like “the kind of a jerk hotshit hotshot who’s got it all figured out and the straight laced rule fallowing stick in the ass rival”? I’m not apposed to to a rivalry, but lets tweak this, given how “hot shot natural jerk” isn’t really where Jim settles at the end of the film. Jim is a natural talent, who excels under tutelage, but more importantly, he has practical experience. While the time period spent on the RLS Legacy is not defined, they do sail to a deep and unexplored part of the galaxy, probably well outside of regular settlements, so no small distance, though Jim is young enough that a very long period of time would be noted in physical growth. Given comparisons to classic nautical sailing of the source time, months, perhaps up to a year? That’s a long time to spend, learning the rough and tumble basics, tying knots, experiencing food and water rations, extreme temperatures, playing with the rigging and mechanical aspects of the boat. Jim knows what it’s like to actually sail. Meanwhile, this is the Royal Academy, who probably takes in upper class second born children and pumps out military accolades for well learned mathematicians and strategists. Jim doesn’t fit in because he can visualize, he can think outside of the box, he can weld a damn engine to a hunk of shrapnel and ignite it freefalling against a metal hellscape and outrace a boat in a high adrenaline situation. He adapts where the other’s frantically look through their notes for the answer. Worse yet, he’s poor and not classically educated. Make it a class issue. In this aspect I do like Kate. Being the Daughter of the Commander of the Navy, she probably has a very technical and far more expansive understanding of navel ships, particularly the running of them. In this way Jim and Kate are perfect foils. Jim representing the poor, instinctually and practically knowledgeable crew, and Kate the upper-class, technically knowledgeable command, a dichotomy representing the haves and have nots in their skills, experiences, an class.
I don’t want to post a picture and break the post, but I do love Kate’s design. I do recommend looking up the article and checking it out. that being said, being a feline species, they messed up not spelling it Cate.
“Captain Amelia is dean of the Academy, which has a brand-new vessel: the Centurion.” - I… why, why is Amelia the dean? Additional material shows that Amelia broke ties with the military because she didn’t like their rule stickling ways and red tape. Why would she want a red tape position? She helped with a war and then bailed first opportunity to become a freelance captain so she could fallow her own rules. Even if you don’t know any of that additional material, you do know that she is a freelance captain. Why is she dean? what happened to the old one? Are they dead? Did DisneyToon kill them? Did Disneytoon kill the old dean?
“Designed by Doctor Doppler, the Centurion is the fastest ship in the galaxy.” - HE’S NOT THAT KIND OF DOCTOR!
“B.E.N. is its pilot”. - NO
In all seriousness all three of those statements show a serious problem, in that none of those characters are in fact those things. Amelia I’ve already explained. But Doppler was a debatably youngish bachelor with too much money who was fascinated by astronomy specifically and who suffered from ennui. And BEN was a navigational unit, so maybe it makes sense for him to be a pilot, but why is a robot who was functioning under a galaxy feared pirate for who knows how long given any kind of agency over a brand new incredibly important ship? These decisions were probably made to incorporate as much of the old cast as possible, to not exclude fan faves. But any decision that makes BEN a prominent part of the plot and thus gets more screen time is a BAD one.
“The pirate Ironbeard desires to commandeer the Centurion. This ruthless villain is relatively all iron – almost nothing of whom he originally was, inside and out, is left.” - On the one hand, I have a weird feeling that this would somehow violate the 30-70 rule. Buuuuut on the other hand, the Artbook does describe the decision making process of what and how was mechanical on Silver (my favorite tidbit was the wheel on his head representing his constant thinking and assessing) and states that that they in a way represent the pieces of humanity he gave up looking for Flint’s Trove. Extending that to a pirate who has given up everything could be a powerful thematic tool if used right (or intentionally)
“He leads a group of pirates to hijack the Centurion while Jim and Kate are aboard.” - ok, yeah, I’ll buy that. If they are butting heads constantly, I could see them sneaking off to the new piece of hardware to one up each other on who knows their stuff, or maybe bond over wanting to learn about the said new tech and being frustrated with restrictions.
“The Navy can’t catch the Centurion, due to the vessel’s speed and armor.”- sure
“Jim and Kate escape the Centurion. Jim decides he needs a pirate to help catch pirates. They find his old buddy Long John Silver in the Lagoon Nebula, where he is running a smuggling ring. “ - So what Jim just goes “I know just the pirate to help us” and then finds him? That journey of itself deserves it’s own movie, anything less is a disappointment. Alternative. Jim and Kate escape onto a particularly lawless planet. Jim has some tricks to keep them safe and fed, maybe he even excels in ways he’s been straight up stop gapped at the academy. Maybe his knowhow is appreciated by others who society also rejects. But Kate is a frustrating fish out of water, getting offended and worked up over things that are big deals to an average citizen but not criminals and pirates. But such reactions are putting them in danger and she needs to get perspective fast. It’s plausible maybe that Silver tracks them down through interesting rumors, but more than that, let it be fate. Neither having any idea the other is there till the second they see each other. Bonus points if Jim and Kate get in a bind and Silver is the leader of the harassers. Better yet lets add some thematic mirroring not only to the scene where Silver saved Jim from Scroop, but directly contrast it to the scene where Silver doubled back and down against the notion of caring for Jim when called out before the mutiny. *kisses finger* Touching and hilarious.
“ Silver agrees to help when he hears about the Centurion. “ -  Silver agrees to help when he hears about the Centurion without Jim even having to ask. Storywise, lets make some kind of deal over how Jim, an upstanding enrollee of the academy, apparently is chummy with a pirate. Tension doesn’t just have to be external, and Kate is the daughter of the Commander of the Army. Maybe she’s recognized and this gets them in trouble. Maybe Kate has issues with her identity outside of her father’s career and need to learn a lesson about being outside of a rigid social structure?
“Jim and Kate receive a tracking signal from B.E.N. – who is currently hostage aboard the Centurion – and follow via Silver’s creaky vessel. They discover the Centurion docked near the Botany Bay Prison Asteroid. “ - While being the fastest ship yet is a good excuse for wanting it to get stolen, my suspension of disbelief breaks a little at any ship, let alone a creaky little pirate vessel, catching up to the fastest ship yet, or the tracking signal being the only way to track it to a guarded prison. Seeing as how I’ve written BEN out of this scenario lets fix it. After the events of the movie, the Royal Military swoops in after to confiscate the debris of Treasure Planet. For those in the know, canon lore states that the Planet was a giant computer, and it and the map were the byproducts of an ancient and advanced civilization. Studying the debris led to the Centurion, notable not for it’s speed, but for it’s stealth. It can cloak itself. Which is why no-one can find it. Meanwhile Silver lets it slip that he snagged the map from it’s pedestal as they escaped the planet as a souvenir. (handwave why the portal was still open with a “the whole thing was exploding, the computer froze). The map is able to track the remnants of said planet, aka the Centurion, meaning Silver has the only means of tracking the cloaked ship
“Ironbeard is using the Centurion to disable Botany Bay’s security systems. Jim, Kate and Silver sneak aboard the Centurion, where Silver reveals to Jim that he wants to take the Centurion for himself. He asks Jim to join him.“ YES. YES YES YES YES YES YES! Understanding that  Jim’s decision to not go with Silver in the first movie is key here. He rejected Silver’s offer the first time because Silver had shown him he had intrinsic value, and Jim finally felt that the natural gifts he had were worth cultivating, that he did have the chance to explore who he could be on his own terms. Jim was comfortable being on his own, because he felt capable. Now, Jim and Silver bring out the best in each other, and the time apart has done them harm. Jim’s strings of social rejections are starting to fell like a glass ceiling he can’t overcome, and is finding more and more comfort in being a big fish in a pirates small pond, and the emotions of of being wanted that come with Silver is a powerful drug. But it’s a one way ticket away from any opportunities he could work towards, not to mention his barely repaired relationship with his mother. Meanwhile Silver has been slowly slipping back into the colder, more selfish self he was, a necessity for his lifestyle, and doesn’t want to loose his connection to Jim and what Jim brings out in him, but is still far enough gone to make the offer and try for the boat anyways, even if he knows it’s not what’s best. It’s an emotionally compelling decision. You want them to say yes, you know they shouldn’t
“Kate overhears this and is horrified, especially since the two have, of course, started falling for each other during the adventure.” - Hate. this I hate. Leaving shipping to they way side, what’s that “of course”? why do they have to fall for each other? Why the Disneytoon sequel love interest? I have a feeling her characterization would come at the cost of it. Why can’t they be rivals? why can’t they develop a mutual respect outside of attraction? Why can’t they both learn an individualized lesson about finding their own place in the world outside of social constraints as foils without macking? I hate this concept. Kate overhears, and is horrified, because Silver is a Pirate which is actually in universe get yourself hanged offense, and Jim is considering this, and they are going to steal a VERY IMPORTANT BOAT and and leave her stranded in a dagerous prison, and are making an objectively morally bad decision.
“Ironbeard discovers the intruders, charging into a fight in which Silver is injured. Meanwhile, the other pirates throw down ladders to the prison below, allowing swarms of elated prisoners to climb up into the ship. Silver, Jim, and Kate exit the Centurion amidst all the confusion. However, Ironbeard shoots down Silver’s ship. They plummet to the prison asteroid below, crash-landing” - cool. Drama. But for my purposes, lets tweak it so Silver isn’t injured yet. But I really want to emphasize that this attack does not interrupt before Jim can react to Silver’s offer. Even something as tentative as “I’m not sure” has consequences. None of this “misunderstanding” BS.
“ Kate is angry at Jim and storms off. “- again, make it clear that Jim showed a real chance of agreeing to steal the ship. if she’s angry before he had a chance to answer that’s contrivance for drama’s sake. Give her a reason to be mad
“ Jim is about to blow her off as well when Silver tells him to give her a chance. He reveals a part of his past through a flashback, when a young (non-cyborg) Silver screwed up a relationship with the love of his life – a decision which directly led to his life of piracy. “ - nope. nope nope nope . I’m gonna put a big old * here because this is reason number 3 why I hate this potential movie, and I will get to that believe me, but here’s me, putting a pin in it. That being said, have Silver selfishly try to double down on getting Jim to join him in a three way argument instead. This is the conflict of the film. Kate, who was learning to grow outside of the strict restrictions of her life and do her own work, make her own way, is being rejected. She is as morally repulsed as she is hurt that she wasn’t included, and hates herself for that hurt as well. Jim is torn between the freedom of what he could be after the academy paired with the strict social constructs around it, and the freedom of a life “full of himself and no ties to anyone” but running from the law and the two friends they represent. Silver is the aggressor here. He likes Kate, he does, but he loves Jim and only has one place in his heart, and has spent his life being selfish. There’s already a crew on board, and Iron beard is hooked into the Centurion. With having the only other means to navigate, they take down ironbeard, the rest will surely fall in line. This is paydirt. A fantastic ship, a bloodthirsty crew, and Jim.
“Silver has a very dangerous cargo with him that he had been trying to smuggle and sell for a fortune, which has the power of a neutron bomb. Jim, Kate and Silver reconcile and work together to fix Silver’s ship and prevent the Centurion, filled with the most evil pirates in the galaxy, from going on an insane robbing-and-killing spree. At the last second, Silver reluctantly gives up his “retirement fund” in order to destroy the Centurion, with Ironbeard and all the pirates on board.” - this entire section needs rewritten. That’s a mcguffin Silver put it away. I have retconned the mcguffin to be the old map, so that is now moot. Now to not blow up the ship. Afterall, Silver and Jim have both already overcome what Treasure Planet represented with it’s destruction. Rather, B plot
If we are that desperate to have past characters in, let’s have Amelia and Delbert back home. When the Centurion is captured, Amelia immediately volunteers to fallow, feeling responsible for Jim and secretly pining for some adventure. Delbert feels the same, and he to a bit of an adrenaline junkie after the events of the first movie, but they have the children to think about and only one can leave. Delbert is the one chosen to help by the navy officials searching for the Centurion. While Amelia bickers with the Admiral Blake over his pragmatic but emotionally distant decisions over the situation of his missing daughter, Delbert is an astronomer, and is blah blah blah science meta, fallow the flashing  and bending lights around the cloaked ship to find it. As in Delbert is helpful. Amelia in a reflation to Admiral Blake, is torn between her family and commandeering her own ship to help. Blake is frustratingly headstrong in his decisions, and the script makes it seem like that emotional distance is disinterests, but reveals to the audience that it incorporates a great deal of suppression of his anxieties and worries over his daughter, and trust in her abilities, though he has issues expressing this pride to Kate herself. Amelia, Delbert and fam make what is probably a poor decision in commandeering a ship and leaving on their own to track the Centurion, the navy hot on their heels.
Back to A plot, the navy is approaching. Jim has to make a decision. He is the only one who knows how to unmask the ship using the old ones tech without training, as it’s based off the map. While Kate and Silver are distracting iron beard, he has to either steal the ship and sail off, or uncloak it for the navy. Iron beard is taken down, but not without Silver getting injured. Jim decides that Silver’s life is worth more than anything, and after agreeing with Kate that she’ll commandeer a doctor and wont let Silver die, uncloaks the ship. The Centurion is retaken in a blaze of naval glory that is the action climax. The pirates fight back up are over run. Maybe Kate gets taken hostage as the Admirals daughter, as an opportunity for a resolution with her arc as Blake’s distant daughter, though obviously said resolution comes at her showing her abilities in taking care of herself and the practical skills she has learned.
“Silver again parts from Jim and Kate, telling them to take care of each other. A few years later, Jim and Kate graduate with honors, while a proud Silver secretly watches from the shadows, smiling” - Boooooo. Kate and her dad make up, and she challenges him that she’s going to one day Captain the Centurion, with him understanding that she needs less a mentor and more an emotional support while she works her way up the ranks. She invites Jim to be her first mate, to which Jim accepts as a navigator, (a thing I’ve pointed out to be his real strength in another post). But to Silver, who has been “pardoned” for his part in retaking the Centurion, the movie hinting that he to would be on the eventual crew there I fixed it fic to come I s2g.
yeah there’s a lot of good there, but it’s so easy to fix the bad it’s frustrating. which brings me to
Reason 3: that little pin
“ Jim is about to blow her off as well when Silver tells him to give her a chance. He reveals a part of his past through a flashback, when a young (non-cyborg) Silver screwed up a relationship with the love of his life – a decision which directly led to his life of piracy. “
Nope nope nope I’ll tell you why.
First of all, sources like the artbook say that Jim is so Important to Silver because he’s the first person Silver has ever let become important. he’s specifically stated to have no family, never married, no children. And that’s something he cultivated actively. His life of piracy, his metal limbs, his loneliness and moral failings were all gleefully accumulated for one reason and one reason only
Treasure Planet.
Treasure Planet was the great love of Silver’s life. It was a lifelong obsession. It destroyed his body, took his youth, his opportunities and nearly his life. He broke Jim’s heart over it.
And he let it go. For Jim.
And Jim understood this
This is the crux of treasure planet’s very themes. This is where Jim found self worth. Another person finally looked at him and said “you matter, you matter more than anything. I like being around you and I choose you first.” and it made Jim realize he’s someone worth choosing.
The treasure was EVERYTHING to Silver, and Silver let it go, for Jim.
That one line there, attributing the start of Silver’s fall to a girl? that actively retcons the entire theme of the previous movie. IT rewrite the emotional linchpin of Silver’s sacrifice of the gold. And actually fuck that. right into the ground. I do not accept. I do not pass go. I refuse. Fuck you non existent movie. That makes me mad. every single time. Hate I shall never let go.

Hongjoong for once had a whole day free from dealing with any business deals that he of course wanted to take you out. Knowing you enjoyed the outdoors, he decided to take you on a romantic stroll through one of his many parks in the city. Just you two, hand in hand, with his men watching over you from a distance of course. Your safety was his top priority at all times.
He excused himself only for a minute to call up the restaurant he wanted to take you to afterwards, make sure all the preparations were ready. Satisfied that his orders were perfectly carried out, he started walking back to you and stopped when he saw someone standing too close to you for his liking. He scoffed, he couldn't even turn away for 2 minutes cause some asshole is already flirting with you.
Walking up behind the man, he tapped his shoulder.
"I suggest you walk away now before I get angry." Was his only warning.
The man scoffed and looked Hongjoong up and down.
"And who are you to think you can order me around short stack?" He mocked him.
Hongjoong simply snapped his fingers and in a matter of seconds, all his men came out and stood around them, awaiting for Hongjoong's next instruction. The man was now visibly shaking as he realized that he angered the wrong person.
Cocking his head to the side, Hongjoong smirked at him before saying:
"Now...... do you want to walk away peacefully or shall I have my men 'escort' you out?"

It was a regular occurrence for Seonghwa to take you clubbing. Fancy clubs were usually the place where he had business talks with other mafia leaders. You honestly never felt it as if they were business meetings. You always ended up having fun and more likely than not, Seonghwa ended up pinning you underneath him before the night was over.
It was a new club where you two had to go. Seonghwa knew the risks of wandering into new territory, but there never seemed to be a problem....until now. His eyes were quick to signal out a guy who had been watching you too closely. Clearly, he didn't know you were off limits since he started trying to grind against you, holding your hips in place while you tried to get away from him.
Slamming his fist on the table, he got up and marched where you were. He sharply pulled the man off you before landing a hard punch right in his face. The man stumbled backwards to the force of Seonghwa's hit, landing on one of the tables behind him. He looked up and saw Seonghwa staring daggers at him.
"Consider this your first and only warning: don't ever come near her again. Got it?"
The guy simply nodded and scrambled to get away from Seonghwa's menacing presence. Looking back at you, he held your hands and scanned you all over to make sure you were all right.
"Are you ok?" He asked, his anger now replaced with tenderness and concern for you.
You nodded, thankful he was always there to help you.
"Come on love. Let's get out of here. I don't ever want to come back to this place again. "

Yunho always used violence as the last resort in any situation that involved criminal activity. And although you knew who he was and what he did, he preferred to have you know as little as possible about his job and to not see any of it. He'd rather you not be in danger or get so scared that you'd leave him.
He tried to keep you as hidden as possible, but eventually rivals found out about you and sent someone to stalk you out. Feeling overconfident one day, the man cornered you in an alley, pushing you up against a wall.
"So you're Yunho's little bitch is that right?" He smirked, looking you up and down.
You tried to push him away, disgusted and terrified of him, but he just held you in place.
"I love it when girls like you put up a fight. Makes it even more exciting when I'm destroying their little pussies."
You were in the verge of crying, when you felt his weight pulled away from you. Opening your eyes, you saw Yunho's men holding the guy down, Yunho himself standing over him.
"You're going to regret calling my girl a bitch and daring to put your filthy hands on her."
He whispered instructions in one of his men's ears and they took the man away, ready to deal with him as he deserved. Yunho turned his attention back to you. He cupped your cheeks and held you close.
"Baby I'm so so sorry. I swear to you, I won't let anything like that happen again."

Your new coworker had really been getting on your nerves lately. He was the type who couldn't take no for an answer, even after you said you had a boyfriend and even kept a picture of you and Yeosang together in your office.
Since he never went past asking you out or pestering you, you couldn't quite escalate it to your supervisor. So you just tried to avoid him at all costs. Yeosang asked you once if you wanted him to get involved.
"It's not that serious. Besides, I'm sure you have more important things to deal with than my tiny annoying problem." You joked with him.
Taking your hand, he placed a gentle kiss on it.
"Nothing is more important than you."
You really thought Yeosang wouldn't get involved. But one day he decided to go pick you up at your workplace. He was glad, and so were you, that he decided to come. Your coworker decided to take things up a notch and actually press you against your desk.
"Don't worry about your stupid boyfriend. It'll be our little secret."
Yeosang slammed the door open, rage pouring out of his body. His presence itself was intimidating that your coworker quickly stepped aside from you.
"Baby, would you mind waiting outside for me?" Yeosang sweetly asked you, but you knew there was anything but sweetness in what he was going to do.
You nodded your head and went outside, closing the door behind you, the last thing you saw was Yeosang walking up to your coworker, who had terror all over his face.
"Looks like you and me are going to have a little 'chat' about respect and why you should stay away from my girlfriend."

You were patiently waiting for San to arrive. He told you he was going to be a little late to your date. It didn't bother you as you were currently holding Byeol, playing around with her on the bench. It wasn't unusual for you guys to bring her along on your dates. After all, she was your guys' little baby.
"That's a really pretty cat you have there."
You looked up and found a young man smiling down at you. You thanked him and he bent down, asking you permission to pet her, which you allowed him to. He didn't seem dangerous.
"What's its name?" He asked as he ruffled the cat's ears, which apparently Byeol didn't seem to really like, evident by her squirming around too much.
"Her name is Byeol." You answered him as you tried to calm Byeol down.
"Very pretty name for such a pretty pussy."
You almost gagged at his use of that word and were taken aback when he placed his hand on your thigh.
"Makes me wonder if her owner's pussy is just as pretty."
You were about to tell him off, but a voice beat you to it.
"It most definitely is."
The man was briskly pulled up by none other than your boyfriend San, who was not at all happy.
"Unfortunately for you, you'll never find out. Now I suggest you just walk away. I don't want to cause a scene in such a public place, especially not in front of my two babies."
The guy simply nodded and walked away when he caught sight of San's gun poking out from his jacket.
"That guy was such a creep. No wonder Byeol instantly didn't like him." You scoffed.
San smiled. "She's always been a good judge of character."

You scrolled through your phone as you waited for Mingi to come out of the building. It wasn't unusual for you to know about what he did. One time you literally walked in on him beating a man half to death. Those kinds of things didn't surprise you anymore. Besides, you knew underneath that deadly mafia leader mask, your boyfriend was an actual baby and softie for you.
You weren't a part of his business, however his subordinates knew who you were and thus treated you with utmost respect, because no one dared to face Mingi's wrath if he found out any of them tried anything on you.
"What's a pretty girl like you doing out here so alone?"
You turned to find a sharply dressed man next to you. You saw the familiar crest on his suit jacket, signaling he worked for your boyfriend. But he must be a rookie since you've never seen him before and he had the audacity to talk to you like that.
"I'm not alone. Simply waiting for my boyfriend." You responded nonchalantly, hoping he'd go away.
"Playing hard to get are we now?" He stepped closer to you, his fingers grazing your hair ever so slightly.
Stepping away, you turned to face him with a glare.
"I really suggest you don't get any funny ideas and just walk away while you still have the chance."
The man chuckled at your warning, you however just kept a straight face.
"Come on doll face. Why don't you let me show you a good time?"
The sound of a gun cocking was the only thing heard after he finished his sentence. The frightened look on his face was unmistakable as he felt the barrel of the gun pressed to the back of his head. The fright turned to pure panic when an all too familiar voice said:
"You should have taken her advice when you had the chance."
The man started mumbling out apologies, absolutely terrified of Mingi ending him. Mingi decided to have some pity on him after looking over at your concerned face. He quickly put his gun away before ordering the men behind him to escort the rookie back inside.
You knew Mingi wouldn't let the guy off so easily though.
"Don't be too hard on him honey. After all, he's new. How could he have known?" You fake pouted as you adjusted Mingi's tie.
Mingi smirked down at you. Grabbing one of your hands, he pressed a chaste kiss on one of your fingers.
"Fine. But I'm making sure that the first rule all new recruits know is to not even look at you."

Wooyoung had absolutely no chill in his line of work, and he especially had no chill when it came to you. He was the type of leader to kill a man on sight if he caught him staring at you for too long. He had learned to tone it down though. You didn't like seeing his aggresive side and so he tried to keep most of that away from you.
This particular night, he decided to take you out to a bar/nightclub. It was a place that was particularly visited by people in his line of work, which is why if anybody died by the end of the night, no one would be fazed by it.
Wooyoung excused himself from your table and went to the bathroom for a bit. You sipped on your drink and looked around for any familiar faces. You looked up when you felt someone sit down, expecting to see Wooyoung, but instead seeing a complete stranger.
"So.... how much?" Was the only thing he asked.
"I- I'm sorry?" You didn't understand what he was asking.
The guy rolled his eyes.
"How much for spending the night with you?"
You couldn't believe this. He actually thought you were one of the prostitutes that worked in these types of places.
"Excuse me?" You scoffed, completely disgusted by him.
"Oh come on now. You don't look like you'd be so expensive for a whore-"
He was cut off by Wooyoung's hand that pulled him out of the booth.
"She's not a whore you dirty motherfucker. You certainly have a lot of balls to come up and disrespect her like that."
Wooyoung scoffed before reaching into his pocket and pulling out his gun.
"Don't worry, I'll fix it right now."
He pushed the guy back into the seat and moved you away from there.
"Close your eyes babygirl, I don't want you to see this."
You obeyed immediately. The sound of the gun blasting and the guy's piercing scream is was enough for you already.
"Keep them closed until I tell you to." Wooyoung whispered in your ear as he guided you out of the bar.

You were well aware that Jongho had many enemies. Being one of the youngest mafia bosses in the city, not to mention the most successful, he had a lot of people wanting to end him. That never happened though. He was too strong, not just he himself physically, but his whole organization was practically unbeatable.
You've had a couple moments where you'd run into one of his rivals. Nothing your doting boyfriend couldn't handle. He was always around to make sure not 1 hair on your head was touched.
Finally having some free time, Jongho decided to take you out and show you off. He stepped aside for a moment to take a call and when you were alone, someone approached you.
"Did you come here alone?"
You shook your head. "No. I'm here with my boyfriend."
The man chuckled. "Really? And where is this boyfriend? I don't see him."
"Why don't you turn around?"
You and the man both looked up at Jongho standing there.
"Now you see him." Jongho had a fake smile plastered on his face.
The man clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Choi Jongho......guess there wasn't much to see."
At his insult, a few of Jongho's men stood up immediately, ready to end the man if necessary. At the same time, the other guy's men stood up as well. Didn't take long for you to figure out he was an enemy of your boyfriend.
Jongho actually stood there calmly, raising a hand signaling his men to back down.
"Let's not make a spectacle in front of my lady all right?"
Jongho took your hand and placed you behind him, tucking you away for safety. He then proceeded to roll up his sleeves.
"Besides, we're grown men.....so let's settle this like men.....just us two."

The weather isn’t too cold. It’s at the temperature you like, where it’s not too hot, not too cold, but a good medium. However, it’s a sign that summer is truly ending, and you’re somehow going to miss it. Even if you did spend a majority of it staying in your room, either playing video games or sleeping. What can you say? Summer is truly the time to unwind.
But today your mom had other ideas, having woken you up at ten in the morning. She told you to do something ‘productive’ with your last week of summer, aka, go the fuck outside. It’s now one pm in the afternoon, and you’re driving to the library because why the hell not? You’ve never been to the library before, and it’s your senior year of high school. Might as well see what books they have in case you’ll need to do a quick run to the library because of your classes.
You stick your hand out the window, doing small wave motions while the air hits it. While you spent most of summer inside, you love the vibe it brings. It’s just the idea of being able to be free for three months, without the stress of deadlines, group projects, or finals. Smiling at the feeling of being free, you turn into the parking lot, parking your car under the tree. Turning off the engine, you step out of the car, letting out a small sigh as you stare at the old library. You straighten out your skirt, before walking towards the entrance, phone and wallet in your bag.
You step into the library, giving the librarian a small smile in greeting. She gives you a happy wave, before going back to her work. You glance at your surroundings, taking in the ambiance of the building. It’s a bit brighter than other libraries you’ve seen, the wooden shelves being painted white, and the walls having a floral detail to them. It has a more happy theme I guess you could say. You let out a breath, somehow feeling like you’re going to come here more often at the cozy feeling it gives you.
“Nice.” You whisper, before walking further inside. Your hand reaches out towards the shelves, letting it drag softly across the numerous books lined up. You perk up at a sudden thought and you head towards the kids section, wondering if they have your favorite children's books. You’re so caught up in thinking about the frog and toad series that you quite literally slam into someone and fall backwards.
You let out a squeak, closing your eyes as your hands prepare to soften the impact, only for you to realize that you’re no longer falling. You register the arms wrapped around your waist, and you’re 100% convinced that you’re being abducted by aliens. You slowly open your eyes, and they immediately widen once they land on the person who caught you.
His black hair is fluffy and falls over his forehead. He’s wearing specs, slightly covering his strong nose. You take notice of his eyes, a pretty shape that would make him seem more intimidating if he wasn’t wearing his round glasses. His lips are really pink, and he’s absolutely the most handsome guy you’ve ever laid eyes on in your seventeen years of living. He gives you a smile, and you feel as if you’re going to faint because,
what the fuck !!! he’s so pretty !!!! this is fucking illegal !!!!
“Are you okay?”
oh my god !?!?! his voice is so deep too !!!!! i’m literally going to go into cardiac arrest-
“Um, hello?” He releases an arm from your waist, waving his hand in front of your face to see if you’ve passed out with your eyes open, and you almost fall into an internal monologue again because holy shit he’s only holding me with one arm, but then your eyes widen. You immediately fix your stance, his other arm falling from your waist as you are now standing on your own.
“I… am so sorry.” You mutter, and he chuckles at your wide eyes. You open your mouth to apologize again and he shakes his head, smiling softly at you. “It’s alright, it’s partially my fault too. I’m just glad I caught you before you fell.”
i quite literally fell in another way i won’t lie to you luv x
“Thank you for doing that. Saved my ass from some bruising.” You joke, only to shut your eyes at how suggestive that sounds. He gives you an amused look, finding you more endearing the more you speak. You don’t dare look at him, deciding that staring into the darkness of your eyelids is much more preferable at this moment as you would very much rather choke. He lets out a laugh, “It’s okay, you can open your eyes. Sometimes things sound a lot more suggestive than they should. It is what it is.”
You slowly peek at him, and see that he’s smiling at you. You stand up straight, letting out a small cough into your elbow, before grinning back at him. He extends his hand towards you, “Hi, I’m Jeon Wonwoo, 17 years old.”
You stare at his hand for a second, somehow surprised that his hands are also really pretty. You reach out and softly grasp his hand, “Hi, I’m yln yn, 17 as well.”
The two of you stay like that for a moment, him wondering how your hand fits his so well, and you thinking of how you’d really like to continue holding his hand. You regretfully let go first, giving him a smile.
“So, what brings you to the library on the last week of summer break?” Wonwoo grins, giving you a shrug.
“I had a mission to read every book in this library, and I think I’m almost done.” You tilt your head at him, leaning back on the shelves and sizing him up. You purse your lips, and he crosses his arms in an attempt to make himself look more serious.
“Oh really?”
“No, the mission was just for this science-fiction section actually.” He answers, dropping his tough facade and  motioning towards the aisle the two of you are in. You giggle at his antics, and Wonwoo feels his heart warm at the sound, proud that he was able to be the cause of it. “Why’d you exaggerate it then?”
He turns his head towards you, giving you a big smile. “Wanted to impress you.”
You look away when you feel your face turn warm at his honesty, reaching up and rubbing the back of your neck. You smile, turning back towards him once an idea comes to your mind.
“Wanna read children's books with me instead?” He purses his lips, before grinning at you.
“Only if we start off with frog and toad books.”
“What kind of person would I be if we didn’t start off with frog and toad, Wonwoo?”
“I like you already.”
Tumblr media
“It’s been a month since I last saw you, and you wanna meet up at the big football game?” You ask into the phone, an amused smile on your face. You hear Wonwoo chuckle on the other end, “It’ll be fun. I can introduce you to some of my friends.”
You raise an eyebrow, rolling over on your bed so that you’re now staring at your ceiling. You purse your lips, realizing that you can also introduce your best friend to Wonwoo, considering that she’s been incredibly curious of the guy at the library. Otherwise known as,
your summer fling that isn’t really a summer fling because you guys haven’t done anything romantic other than smile at each other.
Since school started, you and Wonwoo have been too busy to hangout. You thought he was a new student at your school since you surely would’ve remembered someone as handsome as him, but to your surprise, he wasn’t. Once you got home from your first day of school, you immediately called Wonwoo and asked what school he goes to. Turns out he goes to the high school on the other side of town, your school’s biggest rival when it comes to football.
never expected him to be interested in football, let alone the biggest game of the year since our schools are competing against each other, but i miss wonwoo a lot.
“I’m intrigued.”
“Is that a yes?” Wonwoo asks, a big smile on his face as he waits for your answer. He hears Seungcheol and Jeonghan make kissy noises from behind him, and he rolls his eyes. You grin, letting out a sigh to make it sound like you’re not as excited as you actually are.
“I suppose it is. I’ll see you on Friday then bookworm?” You tease, and you hear him let out a chuckle, causing you to giggle yourself.
“Yes you will gamer. I’ll text you later, my friends are being annoying.” Wonwoo tells you, laughing at the sound of Seungcheol and Jeonghan now whining at the fact that he insulted them. You smile, opening your mouth to say bye when Wonwoo adds, “I miss you. I’ll see you on Friday.”
Your cheeks heat up, and you hear Wonwoo’s friends in the background teasing him once again. Running a hand through your hair you mutter, “I miss you too. See you soon, Wonwoo.”
You end the call, placing your phone beside you. You bite your lip, big smile on your face, before grabbing your pillow and shoving it over your face.
“aaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!”
Tumblr media
“Okay, where’s your boyfriend?” Jihyo asks once the two of you enter the venue, and you nudge her shoulder. “He’s not my boyfriend! Don’t call him that in front of him and his friends alright? I’ll literally eat your ass if you do that.”
Jihyo winks at you, and you roll your eyes, causing her to throw her head back in laughter. She holds your arm, giving you a squeeze to show you she’s just teasing. You pull out your phone, curious as to which area Wonwoo and his friends are sitting, only to see his new text,
wonoot: i’m running a bit late, just go and sit on the bleachers and i’ll find you later <3
You pout, “He’s running a bit late, but he told us that he’ll find us when he gets here.”
“Okay, I think the game’s about to start so let’s go find a spot before everything gets taken!” Jihyo tells you with a smile, pulling you towards the stands. The two of you find a spot in the third row of the middle bleachers, giving you a solid view of the football field. You place your water bottle in the spot Wonwoo will sit, and you pull out your phone to tell him where you and Jihyo are sitting.
you: we’re in the third row, middle bleachers !!
“Those football uniforms really highlight their asses. Even if they don’t really have one, in those uniforms they do.” Jihyo says, and you snort at how true her statement is. You look up, seeing the football players running onto the field. You’re about to open your mouth to respond, when you catch sight of one of the players from the opposing team taking off his helmet. “Oh? That looks a lot like Wonwoo’s friend, Jeonghan. I didn’t know he played.”
“He’s cute.” Jihyo mutters appreciatively beside you, and you nod your head. Wonwoo has a lot of pictures of his friend group on Instagram, and it shocked you to see that all of them are handsome.
how you wished the guys at your school looked like this.
You watch as they all go to stand on the line, getting their names called over the loudspeakers. You tilt your head to the side when almost half of the opposing football team is filled with Wonwoo’s friends. “That’s so weird, almost all of Wonwoo’s friends are on their school’s football team.”
“And Wonwoo isn’t?” Jihyo asks, turning to glance at you as she prepares to take a sip of water. You shake your head, before letting out a small giggle, “Probably because he’s a bookworm-”
“Now we have #96, wide receiver Jeon Wonwoo.” Your mouth drops open, and Jihyo spits out her water back into the bottle. You stare with wide eyes as #96 takes off his helmet, revealing Wonwoo who’s sporting a big smile on his face. He runs a hand through his hair, revealing his forehead and strong eyebrows.
“Y-your summer fling...”
“He’s a jock?!”
Wonwoo squints at the middle bleachers, trying to find you from across the field. Jun turns his head to glance at his friend, letting out a chuckle when he sees the expression on his face. He nudges his shoulder, “Your face looks stupid.”
Wonwoo laughs, hitting Jun’s arm. “I’m trying to find yn, but she’s too far to see from here.”
“Bet you gave her the shock of her life.” Jeonghan jokes from beside him, and Wonwoo smiles.
“That was the goal.”
Tumblr media
“Let’s go Wonwoo!!” You scream, not even caring that some of your classmates are glaring at you for cheering on the opposing team. Jihyo cheers alongside you, doing a victory dance whenever Wonwoo’s team scores.
It’s the fourth quarter, and Wonwoo’s team has the ball for the final seconds of the game. They need three more points to win, and there’s only thirty seconds left on the clock. In all honesty, they need a miracle to win this game.
To say you were shocked when you found out Wonwoo was on the football team was partially an understatement. However, finding out that he’s really fucking good at being a wide receiver almost made you pass out. Wonwoo, the guy who spent the whole summer trying to read all of the books in the science-fiction section at the local library, is among the fastest and best players on his team.
plot twist indeed luv.
You grasp Jihyo’s hand once they get out of their team huddle, watching Wonwoo go to his position. You feel anxious, and way too invested in a high school football game. The ball gets thrown to Seungcheol, and your eyes follow Wonwoo as he runs all the way down the field. You’re frozen once the ball leaves Seungcheol’s hands, shooting across the field towards Wonwoo.
It’s as if time slows down, and your heartbeat is loud against your ears as Wonwoo lifts his hands up. You squeeze Jihyo’s hand tightly, and your mouth drops open when Wonwoo fucking catches it. You and Jihyo scream when he sprints the last few feet towards the end zone.
“GO WONWOO!!” You screech, and you lift your arms up in victory when he runs into the end zone right as the buzzer goes off. Your eyes go to the board, 43-49. You and Jihyo jump together happily as Wonwoo takes off his helmet, a giant smile on his face as his friends run directly into him in a huge group hug.
“Guys let go of him! He’s been dying to go see his girl.” Jeonghan laughs, and heat rushes to Wonwoo’s face once the guys start cooing at him. He slaps Joshua’s arm once he starts up the kissy noises. “Shut up, she’s not my girl yet.”
“YET?!”
“I heard a yet fellas!”
“I hate it here, I’m gonna go see yn now.” Wonwoo says with a big smile on his face, effectively breaking away from his group and running towards the bleachers.
“I think he’s going to see you! GO DOWN!” Jihyo shouts once she sees Wonwoo running in your direction. She grabs the water bottles before taking your arm and pulling you out of the bleachers. The two of you sprint down the stairs while you whine,
“Jihyo stop dragging me!”
To which your loving best friend responds, “No bitch!”
You both run towards the opening in the fence, now on the track field. Wonwoo catches sight of you, running a bit faster until he meets you halfway. You let out a big smile, breaking out of Jihyo’s grip and immediately wrapping your arms around Wonwoo, even if he is sweaty. He freezes, before hugging you back, one hand cradling your head. You pull away after a moment so that you can look into his eyes,  your guys’ arms still wrapped around each other.
“You should’ve told me you were on the team! I would’ve made you a poster!!” You scold, and Wonwoo lets out a laugh.
“I just won the biggest game of the school year and you’re yelling at me for not telling you I was on the football team?” He jokes, and you stick your tongue out at him. “Yes, that’s exactly what I’m doing. Makes me feel like a bad gir-friend. A bad friend.”
Wonwoo raises an eyebrow at your correction, and you look away as soon as you feel your cheeks turn warm at your mishap. Jihyo squeals quietly behind you two, taking as many pictures as she can. Wonwoo lifts his hand, resting it on your chin and making you turn your head so that you’re staring at him again.
“Will you be my girlfriend?”
“I beg your pardon?”
“Will you be my girlfriend?” Wonwoo repeats, an amused smile forming on his face when you turn your head to see if he was asking someone else behind you. He squeezes your waist with his other hand, eliciting a squeal from you. “We’re literally hugging each other and you think I’m asking another girl to be my girlfriend?”
“I mean… maybe?” You respond, and Wonwoo chuckles, shaking his head at your silliness.
“But on a real note, will you be my girlfriend?” He asks more seriously, and you grin at him.
“Of course Wonwoo, I’ll be your girlfriend.”
“HELL YEAH!!!”
“LET’S GO BABY!!!”
“MY SHIP HAS SAILED!!!!” You and Wonwoo turn your heads to see his friends and Jihyo jumping up and down happily at the two of you becoming official. You raise a hand up to your mouth as you laugh at their antics, and Wonwoo rolls his eyes.
“I’m sorry about them.” He whispers to you, specifically eyeing Soonyoung and Seokmin making kissy faces towards you and Wonwoo. You turn your head towards your boyfriend, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek, causing the guys and Jihyo to screech even louder. Wonwoo lifts a hand to the area, smile forming on his face as he turns to you.
“Consider it a winner’s kiss.” You tell him shyly, giving him finger guns. Wonwoo laughs at your cuteness, before leaning down and pressing a kiss to your forehead. Your eyes widen, and out of the corner of your eye you see Seungkwan and Chan fall to the track, unable to express how cute they find you two in words and screeches.
“Consider it a winner’s kiss as well, for getting me as your boyfriend.” Wonwoo jokes, and you roll your eyes.
“So cocky.”
“You love it though.”
“Just a smidge, bookworm.”

Characters: Thomas Shelby x Reader
Meanings: (Y/N)=Your name
Warnings: Cheating, sex, swearing, arguing slight violence
                                      *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Sipping on my tea, I looked around at our guests in the house, all members of the ‘Grace Shelby Institute’. We had to keep up appearances, and although both Tommy and I hated socialising with people who used to turn their noses up at people like us, they were the ones providing the money. Normally, we would keep most events out of the house, but Tommy had pissed me off, and seeing as he was too busy to help organise it, I made all the arrangements; being petty was sometimes the only way I could get back at him.
“Mrs Shelby, what a lovely home you have! And the decor for today is just lovely.” an older, highly posh woman gushed to me.
I smiled.“Thank you. I am quite proud of myself.”
“I have not had the chance to speak with your husband yet. It seems he keeps vanishing into thin air.”
“Yes, he does have a habit of doing that.”
Knowing that there was no point in trying to track down Tommy, I suffered through an awfully dull conversation with the lady, having to disguise my boredom with polite smiles as more women joined us. They were all much older, I had seen a few young women here, all married to very rich men who were twice their own age; I suppose I couldn’t judge, it wasn’t like Tommy and I were actually in love.
“You know Mrs Shelby, I have always wondered how you met a man like Thomas Shelby.” one of the women said.
She was bold to say something like that, especially to me. I refrained from sighing as I started to recite the story Tommy and I made up.
“Well, it seems very cliche, I must say. We met when he was meeting with my father, obviously wanting to unite our businesses. I ended up being in the right place at the right time, we easily fell into a conversation with each other which was unfortunately interrupted by my father. Thomas was very confident to take me out to dinner, right in front of my father may I add! Surprisingly he was a charmer, and I guess we just fell in love along the way.”
The ladies all cooed, some covering their heart with their hand as if it were the most romantic thing they had ever heard. It was all bullshit. We had to make it as vague as possible, make sure that they had nothing more to gossip about. Both Tommy and I had been married before, they were our real loves; and both had been murdered by a rival, but who received more sympathy after they died? And who was called vicious, degrading names when she re-married to a wealthier, more powerful man? People of ‘society’ were disgusting.
“Finn,” I called out as I approached him, luckily escaping the women,“have you seen your brother?”
“Which one?” he smirked.
I smiled back, ruffling up his hair to annoy him.“The one I’m married to.”
He quickly smoothed it back down.“Not sure. Haven’t seen him in a while.”
“Alright, just keep an eye out for him, yeah?”
Although it wasn’t uncommon for Tommy to disappear (especially to avoid these groups of snobs), he had been gone for a while. He may have been frustrated by my choice of venue, but he would still inform me if he had to leave for business. This made me all the more suspicious.
Leaving the main room, I hastily walked down the halls, leaving the noise behind me. There was an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach, wishing that I didn't have an idea of where he could be...and who with. Brushing past staff carrying food and beverages, I made my way upstairs, checking our bedroom first. He was the lowest of low if he was up here; luckily, they hadn’t used this room. Checking through our bedrooms, it was only two doors down from our own when I heard heavy breathing. Taking a deep breath, I gripped onto the handle, bursting in and confirming my suspicions.
“If you’re almost finished, we have guests waiting for you downstairs.” I stated, averting my gaze away from the scene before me.
Lizzie had been bent over the bed, with her dress pulled up over her hips (how classy), and my husband right behind her. She bolted upright, shimmying her dress back down and pulling her underwear up; even after being caught in the act, she looked smug, head held high as she walked past me. Looking back at Tommy, he had an annoyed expression as he did up his trousers. I didn’t want to speak to him, but he called me back before I had a chance to leave.
“We need to speak about this.” he said.
“We do. But not now, not whilst I am hosting this event for the organisation you created for your dead wife.” I snapped, slamming the door shut behind me.
Luckily I had put a time limit on the event, and this time there was a genuine smile on my face as they all left. That was before I remembered what I had witnessed earlier. It was going to go down much messier than I first anticipated, especially since the tension between us had been building up after I caught them in the act. My footsteps were heavy on the way to Tommy’s office, not even bothering the knock before entering. In his usual spot at his desk, whiskey already poured, there was no reaction from him when he saw the fury in my eyes.
“Glad you’re settled for the evening.” I spat, hands on my hips as I stood opposite him.
“This is about earlier?” he coughed.
“What else would we talk about?”
“I’m guessing it has upset you.”
“Not for the reasons you’re thinking.”
He didn’t reply, instead lighting a cigarette.
“Tommy, I understand that there is that bullshit saying ‘all men have urges that need to be fulfilled’, but it doesn’t mean you can disrespect me in my own home.”
“Your home?”
“Yes, my home. I’m here a lot more than you are anyway. And of all the times to be fucking her, you chose the annual Grace Shelby Institute meet up?”
“Don’t say her name.” he mumbled.
I scoffed.“It’s the only way I can get your attention nowadays.”
Tommy raised from his chair, still smoking.“Attention? Since when have you ever wanted my attention?”
“We both knew that this marriage wasn’t based off of love, nor were we ever going to fall in love along the way. However, I have been nothing but a model wife to you. I keep up appearances on your behalf, I make up excuses for your disappearances, I also ensure that your reputation isn’t tarnished by people speaking about you behind your back! And if that doesn’t deserve some fucking respect then I don’t know what does! Also, don’t you think I miss the touch of a man? How many times have I come across men that have shamelessly flirted with me whilst you’re not around, and how easy would it have been to sneak away for just a moment to gain some satisfaction?!”
I could feel my face burning up as I ranted, hating that I wasn’t gaining any sort of reaction from him. Was he this blank with Grace? Was he this blank with Lizzie?
“So you’re asking me to stop seeing Lizzie?”
“I’m not asking you that, because even if I did, you would keep doing it anyway.”
“You don’t know that.”
“Yes, I do. I just want respect. I don’t deserve to be humiliated like this.”
“No one knows.”
“Your family does! And even if they didn’t, that means I don’t deserve respect?”
He sighed as he stubbed out his cigarette.“I didn’t mean it like that.”
“You said it nevertheless.”
“What do you want me to do then?”
“Really Tommy? I want some common fucking decency.”
“Ask and you shall receive.”
I groaned, leaving before I said something I truly regretted. He was acting as if he didn’t give a shit (which he probably didn’t), which only angered me more. Who would want to be stuck in such a place? Letting out an angry scream, I picked up an expensive vase, raising it high above my head before throwing it on the floor with all my might. The pieces glided out across the hardwood floor, some spraying onto my shoes. A few servants rushed in, obviously alarmed by the noise. Instead of apologising, I marched past them, heading up the long stairs and to the bedroom; I would have preferred to grab the leftover bottles of champagne as a nightcap, but exhaustion from my anger would have to do.
Tommy still slept beside me that week, he still ate breakfast with me, sometimes dinner if he wasn't busy. He also tried to have normal, short conversations with me, though even when we glanced at each other, the tension was thick between us. It pissed me off that he was acting normal, and I knew that's why he was doing it...making me even more mad.
"I have a potential business partner coming here today." He informed me over breakfast.
"Why are they coming here?" I asked.
"I couldn't have a meeting elsewhere."
"I thought you said you don't like bringing business home...though come to think of it, you don't really do that either."
"Glad that's settled then."
I assumed that Tommy would want me out of the way when this 'partner' arrived. A good place to go was out to the stables, tend to the horses to take up time. However, I wasn't in the mood for riding or mucking out, instead opting to watch them be trained for racing. Leaning against a fence, I wasn't surprised that my mind was elsewhere, wondering why Tommy was still being so nice to me. We very rarely argued, mostly because neither of us wanted to face the problems at hand, especially when there were more pressing matters to deal with. But after yelling at him like I had, I expected some sort of silent treatment, or even for him to avoid me completely.
"Mrs Shelby?" a butler said from behind me. He continued as I turned around."Mr Shelby's meeting was to commence at twelve, but he is not here at present. However, his business partner has arrived. And..."
"And?"
"And Mr Shelby has asked that you keep him company whilst he is gone. He has assured me he shall be no longer than half an hour."
It was highly unusual for me to meet any of Tommy's associates. This meant that the man couldn't be any sort of threat, he wouldn't expose me like this. Following the butler back inside, I followed him to the parlour, preparing to act as a good host and a good wife.
"I'm sorry that my husband has kept you waiting, he's never been great with time keeping." I said as I walked in, the man having his back towards me.
As he turned around, my eyes widened, as did his.
"Christopher?!" I exclaimed.
"(Y/N)?!" He smiled, rushing towards me.
"Is that really you? What are you doing engaging in business with the Shelby's?"
"My firm is expanding, for some reason Thomas Shelby stepped forward and offered to become partners. I haven't heard about you for years!"
"Neither I about you. Ever since you moved away, we lost contact."
"And now you're the new Mrs Shelby. Bit risky isn't it?"
I laughed."Come sit down, u want to hear everything you have been doing since we last saw each other."
Christopher was a very old friend of mine. We had known each other since we were eighteen, becoming friends after our families were connected through business. We had been young people wanting to rebel, wanting to have fun; we were never in a relationship together, though we would sleep with each other, spend long nights out drinking with our friends. As a lot of my friends went off to get married to higher business men, he was still there, until I selfishly left him behind to marry my husband, the man I truly loved. I had loved Christopher, not so much as someone I wanted to spend my life with, though neither just a friend; it sounded more complicated that it was.
"You know, I always felt slightly bad for marrying and leaving you like that." I admitted.
"Only slightly?" he nudged me.
"It's not my fault I fell in love! We both said that we would never marry each other, it wasn't right."
"No, you are correct. Though, that didn't stop us doing things that couples do."
I giggled."And we did that a lot."
"I'm sure Mr Shelby keeps you busy."
"He would...if he was ever here. Though even if he was..."
"(Y/N)?"
"I've said too much already."
"Have the two of you ever...or haven't rather-"
"No we haven't. And I am telling you this in full secrecy, it must never leave your lips." I pointed a finger at him, becoming serious.
"I promise. I would never do anything to expose you like that."
"Thank you Christopher." I laid my hand on his thigh, thinking nothing of it until he placed his over mine.
Slipping away my hand, I looked away from him, feeling how intense our eye contact was becoming. It was stupid that my heart was beating faster, I was becoming hot under the collar over the tiniest amount of contact.
"I'm assuming your wife knows who you are making a deal with?" I said to start the conversation again.
"There is no Mrs in my life at the moment. I'm afraid work came first and well...there has never been much time."
"Oh Christopher, that's no excuse! Let me guess, you've lost your charm?"
"It's been working on you, hasn't it?"
He got me again. Glancing around, I saw no servants, though I wouldn't be surprised if they were eavesdropping. However, it was Tommy and I that employed them, if they wanted to lose their job, that would he the way to do it. Standing up, I gestured for Christopher to follow.
"We're going on a walk." I announced.
"What about your husband?"
"He will be ages before he gets here. And I'm allowed to show my old friend around the place."
We headed out of the front door, and without saying anything, I guided him down the path that led away from the house.
"(Y/N), I thought you were showing me around your home?" Christopher pointed out.
"I am. We're just starting at the beginning."
"What is that...hut?"
It was a small stone shed, one that would have been used to either keep guns or tools used to maintain the land, keep it tidy. Tommy had another one built closer, initially wanting to knock it down but soon forgetting about it. Now it was empty, the only things remaining being a desk and a chair. It was in front of the trees, slightly hidden by them. You would have to have a sharp eye to spot it, whether you were walking or driving by. Using my shoulder to budge it open, I stepped inside, closing the door after Christopher walked in.
"(Y/N), I'm not stupid, I know why we've come here." He said, staying close by me.
I hesitated to speak, knowing that I hadn't thought this through properly."Christopher... I wouldn't be doing this if-"
"Your husband is Thomas Shelby, this is dangerous for both of us."
"It isn't. He's allowed to go off and do what he wants, because he's Thomas fucking Shelby, and he's a man. Even if he found out about any of this, he wouldn't hurt someone if I asked him not to. He's good to me in that manner."
His hands came up to either side of my face."I'm worried about you, I've never seen you so..."
"Desperate?" I clung onto his jacket, pulling him closer.
"I couldn't believe it was you when you walked in. You're still as beautiful as you were when we were eighteen."
Although he was being a sweetheart and I hadn't received such compliments in a long time, I was inpatient. We both knew where this was headed, and it wasn't going to be as romantic or adventurous as it used to be.
Hungrily kissing me, his arms wrapped around my torso, reaching down to my arse as I pulled off his coat. Pulling away for a moment, he pushed me towards the desk, helping me scramble on top of it. My legs instantly spread as I ruffled up the bottom of my dress, using one hand to grab the back of his neck and kiss him again. I felt his hand slide up my thigh, gasping as he pulled my underwear aside. The sensation filling my body had been badly missed, and I felt myself writhing against his fingers. Leaning back against the wall, I moaned loudly, heavily breathing as I grinded my hips. He slowed down his movements, knowing how much it was frustrating me.
"Christopher..." I struggled to say."Fuck, please...don't stop."
He leaned in to my neck, sloppily missing it as he spoke in between."I loved teasing you like this."
I groaned as he removed his fingers, instantly reaching down to unbuckle his trousers. Before I could take a turn to torture him back, he pulled me off the desk, quickly turning me around and bending me over it. I yelped out in surprise, smiling at the thrill of it all. He tapped my legs apart, moving my skirts out of the way. I felt his skin on mine before he thrusted into me, making me cry out in pleasure. It didn't even matter if anyone could hear us, I hadn't fucked for God knows how long.
He was slow at first, building up the feeling that was in the pit of my stomach. I moaned out his name, reaching back to grab any piece of hm. He had a tight grip on my hips, especially as he started to quicken his pace. The noises escaping his mouth were somehow exciting me, I needed to feel and hear all of this. The pinching of skin from his hold didn't bother me, both of us shouting out each others names along with profanities before he came, but he kept going until I did too. With both of us finished and out of breath, Christopher gently collapsed over me.
"Fuck." I sighed as he pulled out.
Shakily straightening up, I made sure I was dressed correctly, kissing him gently one last time. My body couldn't believe what it had just gone through, and it already wanted more. Before we could say or do anything else, we heard the distant sound of a car, and it could only be headed this way.
"Shit." Christopher stressed, hastily getting dressed.
"It's OK! It'll be OK, Christopher!" I tried to calm him down.
"He's back already!"
"We'll head back and act like nothing happened. I was just walking around with you."
Making sure we both looked normal, we nervously made our way back to the house. My legs were still shaking as he speedily walked, but I said nothing, seeing the stress and fear plastered on his face.
"Ah, Mr Alexander, I see you have met my wife." Tommy was stood in the foyer, unnaturally smiling.
"We actually know each other. We grew up together." I explained, standing beside him.
Then it clicked.
"If you don't mind, I just need a quick word with my wife."
Christopher nodded, politely smiling at both of us before following the butler to Tommy's office. He turned to face me, casually putting his hands in his pockets.
"You invited him on purpose." I said.
"You might want to go lie down for a bit." He didn't say it maliciously, but I was still wary.
"Tommy, please don't hurt him. I initiated it, please don't-"
"I'm not going to do anything to him. He's done what I thought he would do."
"I'm confused. Why would you want him to sleep with me?"
"You said so yourself, why should it just be me doing what I want? You're Mrs fucking Shelby, you've got the power." He started to walk away, leaving me to still think about what he had done.
Still shaky but reeling from the events that unfolded, I ended up smiling."That scheming mother fucker."

Pushed Around
Prompt: i looooooove you protective knights Merlin drabbles from over quarantine, the frantic energy of these large children fretting over Merlin is hilarious and so precious (': would you ever write your take on the classic "a visiting knight/noble is a dickwad to Merlin but he doesn't tell anyone bc of either worries of diplomacy or something else and then when Arthur and the knights do find out they have to have a serious chat w Merlin about his priorities and self-worth?" bc,,, it would be awesome
Thanks for the req! I do love this trope...
Read on Ao3
Pairings: merthur, but can be platonic or romantic, you decide
Warnings: uhhh nobles can be dicks
Word Count: 3372
The problem with Merlin is that he doesn’t say nearly enough for all the talking he does. Honestly, the man can ramble on for hours and hours without being interrupted and never say one word about himself. He’s spoken about how Arthur sits wrong for longer than a council meeting for goodness’ sake. And yet in all that time, he’s never said a single thing about himself.
It would be impressive if it didn’t get them into nearly so many stressful situations that could’ve been avoided had he asked for help.
In fairness to Merlin, servants asking for help from anyone other than fellow servants isn’t exactly normal. In unfairness to Merlin, when has ‘normal’ ever been very high on his list of things to strive for?
They’ve all gotten fairly used to it. Merlin will be doing something and one of them will notice that perhaps there’s a…better way to do that. Or perhaps he’s doing it with a little less skill or proficiency than he normally does and gods, Merlin, how long have you been hurt for? Merlin will shrug and smile sheepishly at them and say that it’s nothing to worry about. Only Gaius seems to be immune to that, raising the Eyebrow of Disappointment and Merlin will bow his head and let him tend to whatever he’s done to himself this time. The problem is Merlin seems to know this and does all he can to avoid doing these things in front of Gaius. Which leaves the rest of them to struggle frantically to keep track of Merlin while he’s frantically keeping track of them.
But they’ve gotten used to it.
Arthur is allowed to be an absolute prat—Merlin’s words, not his—in the mornings, insisting Merlin do all sorts of ridiculously elaborate chores to assess whether he’s hurt himself, whether something’s wrong, or whether he’s done something to upset Merlin more than tossing the occasional boot at him. If Merlin doesn’t snipe back or calls him ‘sire’ unironically, something is definitely wrong and everything is on pause until they fix it. No exceptions.
Leon, as the closest thing to Arthur’s right hand aside from Merlin, takes every opportunity to stand next to him, regardless of how proper it is. Leon may not be immune to Merlin’s impish little excuses, but Merlin is not immune to the protective-older-sibling looks Leon gives him or the gentle way Leon arranges his cape so that Merlin looks even more inconspicuous behind the copious amounts of red fabric. Leon never says a word, and Merlin would never admit it, but there are times when, if you looked at them from behind, you would see Merlin reach out to clutch Leon’s cape and Leon reach to hold his hand.
Percival is not a small man. Anyone standing opposite him better think very carefully about whatever they’re about to fight over. Odds are it won’t be worth it. Often all he has to do is stand up and they’re babbling apologies or excuses. Merlin, on the other hand, is a slight man who looks as if he’s always about two seconds from tripping over his own feet. Percival makes sure to stand in front of him.
Elyan has a way with words. Not that he’s the most loquacious speaker, nor the most forceful, but he’s got a voice that makes people listen. It’s not Arthur’s authority, nor it is Uther’s unmistakable iron, but it is a quiet power. Oftentimes, people don’t seem to respect Merlin. Some go so far as to refuse to remember his name. Elyan’s never had a problem making them see reason.
Gwaine is not known for being discreet, nor is he especially reserved in demonstrating that he’s here for Merlin, not for Camelot, not for Arthur, but for Merlin. Sometimes Merlin just needs a little reminder that he’s worth fighting for, and not just because he’s fighting for something bigger than himself.
Lancelot is the only one that can actually get Merlin to talk, reliably. The man can see through Merlin’s nonsense in a way that rivals Gaius. Unlike Gaius, Merlin won’t fight him on it. It’s difficult to get Lancelot to tell the rest of them, despite what he’ll have you believe. But if Merlin looks a little happier afterward, then it’s all fine.
So yeah, they’ve gotten used to it. What they haven’t gotten used to are the people that go out of their way to make life for Merlin harder.
“There’s another tournament?” Merlin huffs as he throws the blanket over Arthur’s bed. “Didn’t you just have one?”
“That was a joust. This is a melee.”
“You’re all throwing yourselves at each other with various pieces of metal,” Merlin remarks dryly, “what’s the difference?”
Arthur rolls his eyes as he gets up, glancing out the window to see the approaching knights. There aren’t nearly as many as the last tournament, thank goodness, but that does mean that this one won’t be nearly as easily decided.
“As long as I’m not cleaning up after all of you this time…”
Arthur frowns, looking back at Merlin straightening the bed covers. “What do you mean?”
“Last time. I was working non-stop. Had another knight almost as demanding as you are.”
“I’m allowed to be demanding,” Arthur says, “you’re my servant.”
 “Mhmm, sure.”
 “No one else is.”
 “You tell them that, sire.”
 “I will. Who was it?”
Merlin shrugs. “Don’t really remember his name.”
Arthur sighs, walking forward and resting his hand on Merlin’s shoulder. “Yes, you do. That’s what you say when you don’t want to tell me someone’s name.”
 “You don’t know that.”
“I do,” Arthur says softly, turning Merlin to face him, “so you can tell me.”
 “That’s not how it works.”
 “Sure it is.”
 “No, it really isn’t.”
“Merlin,” Arthur huffs, “if something is wrong, you know you can tell me.”
“But nothing’s wrong!” Arthur just gives him a look until he sighs, picking up the laundry basket. “Alright, fine, his name was Tobias, are you happy now?”
“Yes, I am, thank you.” Arthur gives his shoulder another pat before moving away. “The next time he’s here, I’ll make sure you’re nowhere near him.”
As it turns out, that doesn’t go as planned. Because Sir Tobias didn’t just sign up for the joust, he’s here for the melee too.
“Arthur Pendragon,” the man roars, clapping Arthur firmly on the shoulder, “thought you’d seen the last of me, eh?”
“Thought that bruised backside you got from falling off your horse would’ve kept you away.”
Tobias throws his head back and laughs. “You’ve got spirit about you, lad. It’ll serve you well if you can hold your nerve.”
“My nerve has never failed me before,” Arthur replies cooly, gesturing up the stairs, “though I’m sure you know that by now.”
 “We’ll see come the melee.”
Merlin is out of sight, helping the stablehands tend to the horses. As Arthur walks up the stairs, he sees Tobias glance around and huff softly to himself.
 “Is there something wrong?”
“No, no,” Tobias says quickly as they enter the hall, “just glad to see you’ve not assigned me the same servant this time.”
 Arthur straightens. “Excuse me?”
“The gangly boy that tended to my chambers last time,” Tobias says, waving his hand, “right awful he was. Glad you’ve fired him.”
 “I see…”
Arthur does not, in fact, see, but he makes a point to tell the knights not to let Tobias near Merlin.
As it turns out, they don’t have much of a choice. Arthur needs Merlin to help him get ready, and Tobias is of high enough rank to be near the prince as he does so. Luckily for Merlin, he just has to stay inside the tent.
 Unluckily for Merlin…
“Arthur,” Gwaine calls from outside, “they need you to come look at the shields.”
Arthur gives Merlin’s arm a squeeze and steps away, ducking out of the tent. Gwaine leads him over to a table laden with shields, each with a different insignia painted on it. The Pendragon crest gleams in the light, next to the sigils from each of the other knights fighting. None of them has so much as a scratch.
“Very good, sire,” the attendant says, sweeping them along to finish the final preparations. Arthur follows Gwaine up the hill to where the others are standing, Leon turning and nodding solemnly ate his approach.
“Are all of you competing, then?” Arthur leans against the wall.
Leon shakes his head. “Lancelot and I will be sitting this one out.”
“Not growing weary are you, old friend?”
“Weary of people attempting to kill you while I’m already engaged in combat,” Leon replies wryly, “and weary of Merlin being the only one able to do anything about it.”
“They won’t listen to him when he calls for a stop to the tourney,” Lancelot adds.
“And so you can keep anyone away from him,” Gwaine says firmly.
 “Precisely.”
They head back down the hill, just in time to see a flutter of movement from Arthur’s tent. Gwaine frowns, rushing forward and throwing it open.
 “Merlin?”
“I’m here,” Merlin says, getting to his feet, “just fell.”
Arthur rolls his eyes fondly and reaches down to help him up. “At some point, Merlin, I do have to wonder.”
“It’s fine, I just picked up something without realizing it was attached to something else.”
 “I see.”
The rest of the knights glance at each other over Arthur’s shoulder and Elyan stalks off toward a neighboring tent. Leon bows deeply and tells Merlin that he and Lancelot will wait for the others to finish their training before coming to collect him.
“There’s still a few more days to go,” Merlin says softly, “I don’t see why you all had to come here so early.”
“It’s to make it fair, give the knights the chance to get used to fighting in the same place.”
Merlin grumbles to himself as he goes about finishing up. Arthur catches him gently by the elbow as he turns to leave.
 “Are you alright? Really?”
 “Arthur, I’m fine. It’s nothing I can’t handle.”
Arthur sighs. “I would really like for one of these to go off normally for once.”
Arthur does not, in fact, get what he wants.
Not that anyone is particularly surprised that there’s a knight who managed to sneak a poisoned weapon into the training grounds, but someone clips Arthur through his armor and he winces, immediately aware that something’s wrong. Merlin spots it a mile away, because of course he does. The knight is quickly escorted away and Arthur shakes his head, calling for a search of all the knights’ belongings and weapons.
“You’d think we’d get better about this,” Lancelot mutters as he and Merlin approach, Merlin rubbing his shoulder, “and that they’d stop trying.”
“At least we caught it before the actual melee.”
“Merlin, there you are,” Gwaine says, pulling Merlin to his side, “good. Now, you and I are going to have a talk.”
“About what?” Arthur looks around. “What’s going on?”
Lancelot just mouths that they’ll be back as Gwaine sweeps them both along the corridor. Arthur brushes it to the back of his mind. That’s not the first time they’ve done something like this.
It’s the night before the melee. Merlin is late. Arthur paces up and down the length of his quarters. The knights have all vanished hours ago. Merlin is late.
 A knock.
 “Enter.”
Leon sweeps inside, a stony look on his face. He glances around the quarters and bites back a curse. “Merlin’s not here, is he?”
“No,” Arthur says, his blood beginning to run cold, “no, he isn’t. Where is he?”
“Gwaine and Lancelot are already looking,” Leon says, shutting the door, “but…sire, may I ask a question?”
“Always,” Arthur says immediately, “you don’t need to ask.”
“How long has Tobias been…allowed near Merlin?”
“He hasn’t,” Arthur growls, hustling down the corridor, “but what has he done?”
“He was more brazen during the joust.” Leon shoulders a door open. “But now—“
 “Merlin!”
Arthur rushes forward as Merlin turns the corner. Startled, Merlin barely has time to turn all the way before Arthur’s wrapping him up in a protective arm and turning him back toward the safety of Arthur’s chambers.
 “Where were you?”
 “I was, um…”
Arthur bites back a curse and hurries faster, Leon hot on their heels. Along the way, they come across Elyan and Percival, coming up from the armory.
“Arthur, we need to—“ Elyan breaks off when he sees Merlin in Arthur’s arms. “Merlin?”
 “My chambers,” Arthur growls, “now.”
 “What about Gwaine and Lancelot?”
 “They’ll find us.”
“Guys, whatever this is, it’s fine,” Merlin tries but Arthur simply opens the door to his quarters and sits Merlin down. “Really!”
“Merlin,” Leon says quietly, “where were you just now?”
Merlin glances at Arthur. Then back to Leon. “Helping Amelia.”
“And who were you helping Amelia help?”
Another glance at Arthur. Arthur closes his eyes and takes a deep breath.
“Merlin,” he says slowly, “I need you to answer me honestly, please.”
Merlin nods, evidently a little taken aback at how soft Arthur’s voice is.
“Were you helping Amelia because she asked for your help, or were you helping her so Tobias would get angry with you instead of her?”
The silence that fills the room is more than enough of an answer.
“I’m going to kill him,” Gwaine announces, kicking open the door, “now where’s—there you are.”
 “Gwaine, I—ah!”
“Don’t break him,” Lancelot chides gently as Gwaine sweeps Merlin into a hug, “he’s probably still hurt.”
“Hurt?” Arthur looks from Lancelot to Merlin. “Merlin—“
 “It’s fine.”
“Can you allow us to be the judge of that,” Leon asks, settling a hand on Gwaine’s shoulder and moving him away, “please?”
“It’s just a few bruises, he doesn’t even hit that hard.”
“Not exactly helping your case here,” Gwaine snarls, stalking toward Arthur.
 “Merlin.”
 “…why’re you guys so upset?”
Arthur winces. Merlin looks back and forth between them.
 “No…really, I don’t—I don’t understand. You lot hit me.”
 “Not like that!”
 “It’s fine, I don’t—“
“This isn’t fine, Merlin, you’re being hurt.”
 “So?”
The room falls silent. Leon draws back as if Merlin reached out to smack him across the face. Percival bows his head as Elyan bites back a curse. Lancelot stares at Merlin like he’s grown a second head. Gwaine looks at Arthur.
Arthur’s chest clenches so painfully he fears he’s going to have to send for Gaius. Merlin…Merlin doesn’t believe that he’s worth worrying about when he’s hurt? Merlin doesn’t care that he’s getting hurt? Merlin is letting someone hurt him?
 “Merlin…”
“What?” He looks around at all of them in confusion. “What it is? Why do you all look so…so…”
“Upset?” Leon tilts his head. “Because you just told us you don’t think you’re important.”
“But…this isn’t that big of a deal. It happens all the time. Why is this time any different.”
“How often,” Lancelot says, “would you say this happens then?”
 “Every time there’s a tournament.”
“Every tournament,” Leon repeats quietly, “there is a knight that does this?”
 “Sometimes more than one.”
 “And you…let them?”
“It’s not like I have much of a choice.”
 No.
No, no, no, this isn’t right.
 This isn’t right.
Merlin is the man who waltzed right up to Arthur on his first day in Camelot and told him to stop being a prat.
Merlin is the man who spat in Uther’s face as often as he could.
Merlin is the man who demanded that everyone is treated as a person, be they servant or noble or royal.
 This is wrong.
“Merlin,” Arthur manages, “Merlin, of course you have a choice.”
“If I don’t do it, they’ll hurt someone else. And I’m used to it.”
“But you never should’ve gotten used to it,” Arthur cries, rushing forward and grabbing Merlin’s shoulders, “damnit, Merlin, why don’t you protect yourself?”
 “I’m fine, Arthur.”
“You’re letting yourself get pushed around and beaten by someone, you’re not fine.”
“I have to put up with you, don’t I?”
 Arthur burns.
Something in his chest squeezes so tight it breaks. He takes his hands off of Merlin like he’s been stung, backing up until he hits the poster of his bed. His mouth is open in shock and he can scarcely draw breath.
Merlin thinks…Merlin…did he do this to Merlin?
“I don’t understand why this is such a big deal,” Merlin is saying far, far away, “it’s not like I’m not…why’re you all looking at me like that?”
No, no, Merlin is Arthur’s Merlin, he—he’d never hurt his Merlin, he’d never—no, he hasn’t—but—Merlin—
 “Arthur, are you—are you crying?”
This is Arthur’s fault. This is Arthur’s fault, isn’t it, he’s messed this up, he’s messed Merlin up, he’s ruined it—he’s ruined everything.
“Sire,” comes Leon’s—is that Leon’s?—voice from somewhere to his left, “you have to breathe, come on…”
Arthur gasps, the air burning the inside of his throat. He does it again, frantically blinking to clear his eyes. Tears stream down his cheeks—so he did start crying—as the image of Lancelot and Gwaine talking to Merlin swims into view in front of him. Merlin’s brow is furrowed and he keeps shooting concerned looks Arthur’s way.
“I never meant—“ Arthur swallows— “I never meant to hurt him. I didn’t—I never meant any of them, I—“
“Shh, sire,” Leon murmurs, “we know. Nothing is simple right now.”
“But that’s not what Arthur does,” Merlin protests, “he—is that why you guys are so worried?”
Merlin turns and flies at Arthur, hands immediately coming up to cup his cheeks and numb away his tears, muttering all the while.
“That’s not what I meant, Arthur,” he babbles, “I didn’t—I didn’t mean to—you’re not like them, I just—that’s what I’m used to, I didn’t know that there was a difference—“
“I never meant to hurt you, Merlin,” Arthur says, gripping Merlin’s arms tightly, “I just—you must believe me—“
“I do, I do—“ now Merlin’s crying too— “I just—“
“Alright, you two,” Leon hushes, gently laying a hand on both of their shoulders, “let’s have you two sit before you fall over.”
The knight guides them both to the bed, sitting them on the edge. They’re no help; they’re too busy crying and clinging onto each other.
“Now, why don’t you two have a chat, and we’ll be outside.” Leon ruffles their hair affectionately and sweeps the others out into the corridor despite Gwaine’s protests.
Arthur swallows. “I never meant to hurt you, Merlin,” he mumbles, “nor do I believe that you’re—a fool or an idiot or stupid or anything.”
He clutches Merlin tightly. “You’re important to me.”
Merlin nods. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to worry you lot, it’s just…that was how the older boys in Ealdor treated me. I got used to it. And it always made sense.”
Arthur shakes his head furiously. “It doesn’t make sense, Merlin. They were hurting you. People are hurting you. That’s not alright. That’s awful. And I’m going to stop it.”
“You can’t just fight all the nobles who don’t like me.”
 “Watch me.”
 “Your father will—“
“To hell with that,” Arthur snarls, “they’re hurting you. And I won’t stand for it.”
Merlin sighs, slumping forward. Without a thought, Arthur catches him, pulling him closer and tucking his head over Merlin’s.
“…you really would fight them for me?”
“Yes, Merlin. I would. And I will.”
He feels Merlin grin against his shoulder. “You’re going to make Tobias never come back to Camelot, aren’t you?”
 “Perhaps.”

Hello! I can! Thanks for the request.
Now, you did not clarify what ship you would like me to write about...
So imma just assume it is for TodoBaku, as this is mainly a tdbk account, but if it is not the ship you meant please let me know :)
---
Dialogue prompt: “You keep saying that we’re friends but you look at me for a moment too long for that to be true.”
Trope: Fake relationship.
Ship: TodoBaku.
---
“Fucking icy hot and his shitty puppy dog eyes.” Bakugou mumbles as he closes the door to his dorm room. Bakugou makes his way over to his bed and nearly breaks his bed with how much force he added as he jumped onto the bed.
Bakugou did not want this in his life, this problem, that is not his for starters. But half n half gave his these disturbingly sweet-looking eyes, and Bakugou caved in.
“I am an idiot,” Bakugou admits to himself. “Now I have to fucking date the son of the number one hero, and it is not even real!” Bakugou flips onto his back, looking at his roof. “I am meant to be focusing on becoming the number one hero, not being in relationships, I did not fucking plan this.”
Bakugou sighs and closes his eyes, today had been a long day, and he just needed a long relaxing sleep.
Todoroki sits back on the couch in the 1A dorm rooms. He was really surprised that Bakugou agreed to his plan. Todoroki expected that after he had explain his idea of pretending to be in a fake relationship to spite his father Bakugou would yell at him and walk off saying ‘it is not my fucking problem nerd’, but instead Bakugou asks a couple of questions like; “Why?” and “Why you choose me?”
In all honesty, Todoroki just wanted to annoy his father. Yes, he and his father were slowly getting back to being somewhat civilized, but lately, Todoroki realised his father has been trying to set him up with a girl, that he was not interested in. The main reason for this was because he was trying to focus on becoming a hero, as well as he did not think he was stable to be in a relationship right now, and also the fact that he was a homosexual.
When Todoroki confronted his father about the girl and his reasonings, his father told him; “Look Shouto, this is most likely a phase, just like your rebellious phase. This girl I am setting you up with will be a good match with your quirk.” Right after heard these words, he knew he had to show his father that this was not a phase.
His plan on Bakugou was pretty obvious in his mind, Bakugou would most likely be down for a challenge. He and Bakugou had been gotten closer since their time spent with each other while trying to gain their hero licenses. They were friends, as much as Bakugou disagreed to that statement. Also, the added bonus that his father would probably not like Bakugou.
Todoroki sat and smiled. He and Bakugou were now dating.
The next day Todoroki and Bakugou met up in Todoroki’s bedroom to sort somethings out.
“Ok, the first thing we need to know is how we got together?” Todoroki asked, stopping the silence.
“Tch, that is easy,” Bakugou said as he lied back on Todoroki’s futon, that Todoroki did not consent to, “I asked you out.” He finishes.
“Ok, but why?”
Bakugou was silent for a second.
“I found you attractive, you are a strong hero and I was not a pussy and asked you out.” Bakugou states like it was obvious.
“Oh, thank you for thinking that Bakugou.”
“It is a lie, dumbass, this is a fake relationship.”
“Oh, yeah,” Todoroki said, a little disappointed, “So, you thought I was attractive and said you were not a pussy and asked me out?”
“Yep,” Bakugou says, popping the P, “Pretty much.”
Todoroki nodded and walked over towards Bakugou, who was still lying on his futon, which he still has not consented to, might he add.
“What the fuck are you doing?” Bakugou asked as Todoroki started lying down next to Bakugou.
“Trying to be closer to you.”
“Why the fuck?”
“So we can get used to it, we need to be able to touch each other in a romantic aspect without being weirded out by it.”
“You saying it like that is weirding me out.” Bakugou says, putting his arms behind his head.
Todoroki faces Bakugou while lying on his side, Bakugou starts right back at him. They start to have a spontaneous starting contest. A silence surrounds them, making this moment more intimate then it needs to be.
Todoroki wins once he puts his arm around Bakugou’s stomach, catching him off-guard.
“What the fuck you doing?”
“Cuddling you.”
“Yeah, I can see that.”
“Why did you ask then?”
Bakugou sighs, “You are a pain, you know that.”
“I have been told by you,” Todoroki says as he turns around to his other side, facing away from Bakugou, “many times.” He adds.
Bakugou snorts, “Didn’t think you were capable of understanding that.”
“I might surprise you, with how much I have learnt over the months of being in UA.”
“Yeah, you only know the things that are popular at the moment from my pain in the ass weeds.”
“You mean your-“ Todoroki gets cut off once he feels Bakugou’s arm hug his waist.
“Say the words ‘friends’ and I will end this agreement.” Bakugou barks, with absolutely no bite.
“We are friends, right?”
“Nope.”
Todoroki just sighs, and start to head off the sleep, with Bakugou hugging his from behind.
Todoroki is abruptly awoken by Bakugou shaking him.
“Wake up dipshit, we gotta go have breakfast.” Bakugou practically yells in Todoroki’s ear.
“One more minute, I wanna sleep.” Todoroki mumbles, it is surprising that Bakugou understands.
“Ugh! Come on, up you get!” Bakugou yells as he starts to pick up Todoroki and fling him over his shoulder. If Todoroki was not awake before, he was now.
“Bakugou?” Todoroki asks as Bakugou opens the door and starts walking down the stairs towards the kitchen. “What are you doing?”
“Carrying you.”
“But why, I wanted to sleep some more.”
Bakugou does not answer as he walks into the kitchen with Todoroki still hung over his shoulders.
He grabs some boiled eggs from the fridge and put some in a bowl and walks to the dining table and sits Todoroki down on the chair carefully. While all this happens, half on the class watch with mouths hung open.
“Eat, dumbass.” Bakugou demands. Todoroki obeys.
“What is happening?” Bakugou hears pink cheeks whisper.
“We are dating is what the fucks happening!” Bakugou announces.
Many of the class gasps, Deku cries.
“K-kacchan and Todoroki?!”
“Who the fuck else?!”
Deku faints.
By the end of the day, everyone in the school knows about the two soon to be hero’s relationship. It even went on the news as ‘UAs first same-sex couple’.
Bakugou had not heard all day from Todoroki, which Bakugou did not care about, because he did not care about the half n half bastard. The only reason as to why Bakugou knocks on Todoroki’s door at 10 pm was only because he needed to make sure he was still alive, so people did not think he killed him, that’s the only reason.
Todoroki opens the door and smiles once he sees Bakugou, which did not make Bakugou blush.
“Hello Bakugou,” Todoroki says as he opens the door to let him in, “What brings you here?”
“Where were you all day?” Bakugou says bluntly.
“Oh, I was here, on a very long call from my father.”
Bakugou was silent for a minute.
“How did it go?”
“Better than I thought, he was actually understanding and says he will try to be fine with it.” Todoroki says with a small smile. Bakugou did not get butterflies in his stomach, and if he did, he killed each and every one of them.
“That’s good, I guess.”
“Yeah, thanks by the way, for doing this. I am glad we got to hang out a bit more than normal.”
“Whatever, does this mean we don’t have to do this anymore right?” Bakugou questions, looking at the ground like it just insulted him.
“Yeah, we can just go back to being friends.” As Todoroki says this Bakugou starts at him, once again going into a spontaneous staring contest.
“You keep saying that we’re friends, but you look at me for a moment too long for that to be true.” Bakugou says without thinking.
Todoroki tills his head. “Huh?”
Bakugou is not a pussy, he does not back down and run away. He fights for what he wants, and right now what he wants is Shouto Fucking Todoroki.
“Fuck you.” Bakugou says as he stomps towards Todoroki.
“Bakugou, what are-“
Todoroki is cut off by Bakugou grabbing his shirt and forcefully pushes their mouths together. Todoroki gasps into the kiss, taken aback by the sudden act from Bakugou. But he does not push away, instead, he leads into the kiss, putting arms around Bakugou’s waist. It was not a gracious kiss, that is for sure, but it was something that needed to happen, it was something to show them that they are more than just rivals, more than just classmates and more than just friends.
Todoroki broke the kiss first, panting.
“So, are we like best friends?”
Bakugou just starts at him, mentally throwing daggers at him.

I hope this is ok, I did my best in like one night, which I should be studying for exams, but like who wants to do that am I right?

A deeply moving work that bears witness to loving partners, whose unchanging feelings must co-exist within a world of changing realities.
My Personal Thoughts: I already wrote a review for this so I am going to re-share some of those thoughts here. This is one that I have watched countless times already. They went by the manga for mostly all of the episodes and I appreciated seeing that. They gave more context for certain details that may have been lost while reading the manga and translated it to screen. I think they depicted the age gaps well too. For 4 episodes only, I feel that they did a great job including the most important aspects. Actually now that I think of it, I would have loved to see more of them in their early 20s depicted on screen because that was like one of there honeymoon phases and I’m a hopeless romantic lol but that’s just a personal preference not complaining. Also, the show stopped at age 40 and they could have gone on throughout there entire lives but I understand why they chose not too. The manga is great as well!!! I think that the main actors depicted beautiful true love very well. They had amazing chemistry. Japanese BL’s have that special spark about them that I love. I also loved that it showed there relationship from high school till there later years. I don’t see that a lot with BL’s. They usually just stick to one time period. The aspect about them being connected by a line in relation to there love was a nice touch as well. I am glad that it has a happy ending as well. This is a pretty quick one to watch and a great one at that!!! If you haven’t watched it yet, I would highly recommend it!!!

I Told Sunset About You
Synopsis According to MyDramaList: Teh and Oh-aew were best friends until a boyhood line of reasoning turned them into rivals. Years later as they're preparing for university admissions, both pursuing interests in the field of Communication Arts, the two meet in a Chinese language class. Their reunion awakens complicated and unstable feelings.
My Personal Thoughts: Same as above, I already wrote a review for this so I am going to re-share some of those thoughts here. This is DEFINITELY one of my top BL shows of the year 2020. This is such a beautiful masterpiece of a show!!! I remember when the preview trailer first came out… I was already hooked!!! I was on the lookout for it and it did not disappoint me one bit when it finally started. I looked forward to seeing it every week. It made me feel all of the emotions. I was up here sitting in my room crying over everything. I don’t think any other BL has made me this emotional before in my life. The two lead actors really DELIVERED!!! I could feel every single stare, every single body movement, and every single touch. You could cut the TENSION with a knife!!! No one couldn’t tell me that there wasn’t a magnetic true love between these two. I know this sounds cliche but it's like they were destined to be together from when they were childhood friends. Also, I would love to see them in future projects!!! The cinematography in this show is TOP FREAKIN NOTCH!!! Every single scene is just so beautifully shot. The cinematography alone makes me want to cry lol I saw somewhere that someone said the filming of the show reminded them of an indie film and I totally agree!!! The writing and directing on this show was impeccable to me!!! No cringy dialogue and every single line served its purpose well. This is movie grade writing. I also wanted to quickly just say that I loved the attention and callback to details throughout like with the tutoring book that Teh made for Oh-aew that was left empty by the end of episode 4, the flower that was supposed to be colored the same as Tan’s garment but Teh colored it red because he was thinking of Oh-aew, the rubbing of Oh-aew’s back when he sniffles, the references to Teh’s favorite actor, and the use of Chinese phrases to get meaning across. I could go on and on but wow I just loved how they really connected all of the details throughout. I can’t wait for Season 2!!!

Theory of Love
Synopsis According to MyDramaList: Third is a filmology major and a member of the Savage Team along with his best friends Two, Bone, and Khai, but he has a secret. Third has been secretly in love with Khai for years. For three years, he has kept his secret love in his heart, silently supporting and loving Khai while knowing there is absolutely no future between them since Khai is as straight as a streetlight pole and also an absolute player. To make matters worse, Khai has a "no dating friends" policy. How long can Third love Khai silently while watching Khai bring a different girl home every night? Third has tried to see Khai as just a friend. But has failed time and time again. Because as easy as it is to fall in love, to stop is just as hard.  Maybe even harder. That is until Third learns a secret that breaks his heart completely. But when Third decides to stop, Khai decides to start.
My Personal Thoughts: As sad as this show can make me feel at times, I love rewatching it. I still to this day think that it is one of the most well written BL’s that I have seen. Everything flows nicely and everything connects. Your not left wondering how you got from point A to point B. I thought the show had great character development especially when it came to Khai’s character towards the end of series. I know a lot of people had mixed feelings about his character due to how careless and dare I say stupid he acted at times but if he can make the audience hate him that much as a character... I would say he is doing something right!!! Gun’s acting never fails to amaze me!!! He really is one of the best actors I have seen. I know he had to be drained from all of that crying that he did throughout the show though lol It just goes to show that when you truly love someone you can’t just stop what you are feeling inside that easily no matter how the other person feels about you or treats you. As the old saying goes, love is blind. I also loved the friend group as well and Two and Bones side stories with the teacher and crush from school. They added to the shows greatness and didn’t take away from it. The friendship dynamics throughout the show was I feel something that really kept me engaged. The cast acted well together. There was no awkwardness or hesitation. I feel everyone bought there best for this drama. They incorporated the movie references so cleverly and I love how the title of each episode was the title of a real romance film. Just the overall theme of film was very intriguing to me. This drama left me filled with heartache and a rollercoaster of emotions but the ending is worth it!!!

HIStory3: Make Our Days Count
Synopsis According to MyDramaList: At first glance, high schoolers Xiang Hao Ting and Yu Xi Gu appear to be polar opposites: While Xiang Hao Ting is an outgoing, hot-headed extravert and some-time bully, Yu Xi Gu prefers to keep a low profile and focus on his schoolwork. They seem bound for totally different futures – the bookish Yu Xi Gu looks destined for academic success, while life is just a long popularity contest for Xiang Hao Ting. But a quirk of fate – and a crucial intervention by a female schoolmate – results in the two young men’s paths crossing. But there is more to both young men than first meets the eye. Xiang Hao Ting was not always this way. He started out as a perfect student until he discovered the joys of going off the rails. And Yu Xi Gu has a reason for being so aloof and studious: His parents died in a traffic accident while he was younger, and he is being fostered by his aunt. As such, he works hard to get good grades in an effort to win a scholarship and ease the financial burden on his relatives. Yu Xi Gu also works part-time at a convenience store, where his manager Liu Zhi Gang has developed a crush on a man he has met at the gym. Back at school, meanwhile, Yu Xi Gu and Xiang Hao Ting find themselves drawn together, and passions ignite. The former notices that he has the unique ability to bring Yu Xi Gu out of his shell – and becomes intent on melting his cold-as-ice exterior. What will happen when their two worlds collide? And can love be the catalyst that helps bring these two unlikely students together – as their high school days draw to a close?
My Personal Thoughts: I will stand by this notion for all of my days but this show is one of the best shows I have seen PERIOD!!! Not even best BL shows I have seen but just in general. It highkey saddens me that it is rated at an 8.1 right now on MyDramaList due to how it ended when other than that... it’s a top notch show. This was one that I watched as it was airing and I would get excited to see it every week. My clown self should have known by the title “Make Our Days Count” that some mess was about to occur but I didn’t pick up on it. Now, I just disregard the last episode (WE DON’T KNOW HER!!!). You can just tell that they had a great budget for this series. The production was on point. It had great cinematography, great storylines, and it felt realistic too. The main couples acting was OFF THE CHARTS AMAZING. I loved the whole opposites attract thing going on. Although the show was set in high school... it almost didn’t feel like it nor did it have those typical clichés going on. I liked how it dealt with topic of LGBTQ+ acceptance as well. I wasn’t so sure about the side couples relationship at first but I grew to love them as time went on. One last thing I wanted to point out was that even though I am always looking for a happy ending... I learned from this show that not everyone can get a happy ending. That’s not how life works sadly. In real life, there have been a lot of people who were truly in love and lost there partners tragically. Although it may be hard to accept the outcome, it is something that happens in real life. This is a drama that you appreciate even more as time goes on. It truly is a gem of a series!!!

TharnType
Synopsis According to MyDramaList: Type Thiwat is a handsome freshman with a passion for football and spicy food. Although he’s a friendly boy, he hates gay people because, in his childhood, he was molested by a man. His life turns upside down when the new academic year of college brings along a charismatic roommate, Tharn Kirigun. Tharn is a gorgeous, compassionate music major, who is also openly gay. When Type learns this, he is determined to make Tharn leave the dorm, as he won't live with a gay person. Tharn is equally determined not to give into Type's homophobic tantrums. With a gay guy and a homophobic guy that have to share a small space together for the rest of the year — what can possibly be the outcome of their story? Hatred? Or maybe love?
My Personal Thoughts: *Goes to hide in a corner* I know this drama is problematic and controversial as hell but it’s like a train wreck that you can’t turn  away from. What truly carries the show I feel is the chemistry between MewGulf. I don’t think I would have enjoyed the series as much if other actors were cast in those roles. They just exude confidence, passion, love, and lust. In terms of the storyline, I found it to be a chaotic occurrence of situations where I just had to know what was going to go on next. Everything that occurred had me intrigued for the next episode and so on and so forth. I loved Type’s character development. One quick thing I want to touch on was I know there were a lot of problematic things that happened which I will touch on at a later date but one thing I wish people were more understanding of was Type’s outbursts, thoughts, and feelings in certain situations. He was a victim of sexual assault so I felt the way he handled certain things was in response to what he had gone through as child and I think some viewers kind of missed that and were almost too harsh on him. Everyone processes and deals with trauma differently. This show went through so many twists and turns and I honestly lived for it especially the shocker towards the end of the series. I didn’t see that one coming at all!!! Despite all of its flaws, this show still holds a special place in my heart.
Tumblr media
Honorable Mention:
Cherry Magic: As of today, this show has 4 episodes left and I think I am just going to come out and say that THIS IS MY FAVORITE BL OF THE YEAR!!! It’s a beautiful Japanese BL and I rewatch the old episodes while I wait for new ones to come out alot. It’s such a fluffy, heartwarming, and precious Bl series!!! I love it to pieces!!!

Tumblr media
With a large bowl full of popcorn, a little girl, not older than six years old, sat in the living room with her legs crossed. Her eyes focused on the television in front of her, munching the light snack as she waited.
"Mom! It will start in a minute!"
She shouted, informing her mother who was currently sweating due to heat in the kitchen she was in. The little girl shouted for you, her mother that would do anything for the whole family.
"Let me just get this cake out from the oven!" You shouted back, arms trying to get the sweat off from your forehead. With carefulness, getting the tres leches cake out from the oven. Your nostrils twitched, wanting to devour the freshly baked sweets,
"Mom! Dad's appeared!" The shout made you panic, resulting in you almost dropping the cake. Thank god having a hyperactive daughter made your reflexes quite good.
You calmed down when the cake was steady again. Letting out a long sigh, you compose yourself before putting the cake neatly on the kitchen island. With ease, you take off your apron from your body, hanging it on the spot beside the fridge.
Your eyes scanned the kitchen once again before leaving, making sure that everything was under control. When you were sure that there would be no fire, that’s when you strod to the living room, your husband’s voice filled the whole room.
“What took you so long, mom?” Your daughter asked you once you sat beside her, she leaned her body towards you immediately, mouth still munching the snack that you prepared for her before.
“The cake, my princess.” You wrapped one of your arms around her tiny frame. She fed you some popcorn as the two of you looked at the figure who was now being interviewed, “Oohhh! What do you think about dad’s suit today?”
Your daughter squinted her eyes, and you already know what her answer would be when you saw her scrunched up her nose.
“Dad should go with a darker shade of green,” She stated bluntly, watching her father laughing at the television for something that the interviewer said, “Really, with that chartreuse color, he looks like trash.”
You choked on the popcorn when you heard the nickname, making the poor girl panic when you started to cough repeatedly. When you didn’t stop coughing, she immediately got down from the couch, running to the kitchen.
She’s back in seconds with a glass of water in her hand, you grabbed the glass immediately, gulping it down until the bottom of it. Your daughter giggled at how tired you look,
“Trash? Did you just call your father trash?” Your voice was like a dagger to her, but an amused look in your eyes made her know that you were just joking around, “Let me guess, Uncle Hajime?”
“Yes!” She climbed back to the couch, sitting on your left thigh, “I mean, dad’s suit looked like trash on him.” You hummed, acknowledging your daughter and gave her a little peck on the side of her head.
“So, who would be the one that loves to ramble about their own family?” The interviewer asked the whole Japanese Nationals Volleyball Team in front of them, “I mean, most of you already had someone in their life, right?”
“Let say we are all proud of our own family,” The black haired middle blocker stated, body leaned forward a little as a cheeky grin appeared in his face, “But Tooru was the worst, he couldn’t get enough of his wife's attention!”
“Eww,” Your daughter voiced her thought all of a sudden, “I suddenly remembered that one time in the locker room! Bwergh~ I want to puke,” You blushed immediately, closing her mouth with your palm to shut her up.
It’s not that you and your husband having sex in the locker room or something. It was just an intense making out. But of course, knowing your daughter just saw her parents almost devouring each other like that, it’s not really a sight that you wanted her to remember.
“Well, I mean… How could I not not asked for her attention?” Oikawa winked at the camera, knowing well you must be watching him through the television at home, “She’s been with me through everything. Knocking some sense on me when I started to be irrational, putting up with my trashy act, patience enough to follow me anywhere… AND, deliver a child that I love so much…”
“See? This is what I mean,” The middle blocker cackled, “He’s just a hopeless romantic! Either for his wife, or her daughter.”
“He’s saying the truth, Kuroo.” One of your husband’s teammates that used to be his biggest rival, voiced his opinion, “Oikawa was very vocal indeed, sometimes I wonder how could his family survive his antics.”
“I want to bury myself sometimes,” Your daughter voiced her opinion too, making you chuckled at how sinister that sentence was, “Dad was just that bad with his pun.”
“Oh my god,” Kuroo clenched his chest, fakely gasping when he heard the opposite hitter let out a sarcasm, “The Ushijima Wakatoshi? Blessing us with a sass?”
You chuckled at the interaction between those adults on the television. They were just like a bunch of children that were trapped on an adult body. Then your eyes fell to your husband who smiled longingly for a split second, a smile that he rarely shows in his earliest life.
He’s a man full of passion, especially when it comes to volleyball. In his life, it was hard to find someone who could match his pace. So somewhere along the line, he dropped his wish to have someone who would stay with him forever with how much he spent time with volleyball.
Then you came and proved him wrong. You were always there, attending all of his practice and shouting his name on every match he had. Even though he never noticed you for the first two years in high school, you were glad that you could be in his life at the end.
Or in his case, he was glad that he caught you putting milk bread and some supportive letters on his locker on one particular morning.
Dark circles evidence under his eyes. It was still morning, but rain was already wetting the street, making him have to run or he would be completely soaked by the time he arrived at school.
At first, he wanted to go straight to the gymnasium, practising his serve. He felt like he wasn’t good enough, making his team fail to go to nationals. For numerous times already, defeated by none other than the Shiratorizawa.
But since the main building was closer from the gate, he directed his feet to stride there instead. It was still early, the sun barely peeked through the clouds. And the fact that it was raining, making the poor sun hiding again from the sky.
He pouted, realising how soaked his whole uniform was already. When he got into his locker, he would immediately change his clothes after putting his bag there.
Though, he didn’t expect to see a girl standing in front of his locker. He immediately hid behind another locker, peeking a little to see what the girl put inside.
He widened his eyes when he saw milk bread and a letter on her hand. She opened his locker, and didn't actually put the bread inside at first. Letting out a sigh, she arranged the stuff on his locker, muttering about how messy it was.
She was grumbling under her breath, but then she giggled, shaking her head and just tidying up the mess that was in front of her. When she’s done, she puts the milk bread and the letter, closing it immediately.
He saw how the girl closed her eyes and prayed for something that he was curious about. Then she left, skipping inside the main hall towards the classroom.
The brunette even forgot that his whole uniform was still wet. But his mind was now full of the girl. He walked silently towards his locker, opening it up and unfolded a turquoise paper inside his locker.
“You did so well in the match yesterday! You played like a pro and no one should say otherwise! Everyone in the school was so proud with how good our volleyball team is, and you always bring the best side of your teammates. I hope you know that someone would always watch your back. Thank you for all of your service!”
By the time he was done reading the letters, tears streamed down his face. Touched by the support that he got from the mysterious girl with enchanting hair.
He folded the paper, putting it inside his bag. With a milk bread in hand, he walked towards the gymnasium while eating the sweet milk bread that he loves so much.
The sky was bright as he walked, orange colour tinted his face that was now plastered with a genuine smile. He didn’t even know who she was at the time. But if it could make him feel like this now, he wondered what would happen if he finally acquainted the girl.
That time, he was sure he didn’t want to let her slip through his fingers. And so, he would do anything to keep her in his life.
“I am home~!” Oikawa slammed the front door open, making you and your daughter jolted at the sudden burst, “Where’s my queen and my princess?” He took off his shoes, wondering for his little family.
The two of you were now seated inside the kitchen, waiting for him to walk there. You tried to hold your own giggle since you were holding a cake on your hands.
Your husband called out to the both of you again and again, before finally stood in front of the kitchen. He put his hands on his hips, having his back turned towards you.
The little girl, who was now a little bit tired with how slow her father was, decided to clear her throat, resulting in the brunette to whip his head to the kitchen, now knowing where the two beloved humans in his world are.
A wide smile slowly creeped into his face, dark chocolate eyes lit up immediately at the sight that was now unfolded in front of him. You were standing there, with a proud smile on your face, while the little girl brought some bowl in her tiny hands.
“W-Whoa!” He walked up to the two of you giddily, kissing your forehead for a few seconds before kneeling down and hoisted your daughter up to his embrace, “Care to explain what my two best people in my life doing while I am gone?”
You put the cake on the kitchen island once again, cutting it into some small pieces so it would be easier to put on the bowl. A smile never left your face as you heard your husband talking with your daughter, he deadpanned when she told him his suit was like trash on him.
It was a sight that you would always keep inside your heart, him interacting with the little girl he could proudly call his daughter. He was always good with Takeru for as long as he lived, so you knew for sure that domestic life suited him.
"You are not doing something whacky while dad's gone, right?" He booped her nose while he asked with a serious tone, "Your mother right here has enough with me, don't make her run away~"
"I am a good daughter, thank you!" She said with a smug on her face, "While on the other hand, dad seems to make mom worried when you were home late due to practice~!"
"Ouch," You giggled, that was sure to hit a sore spot on your husband's heart. He pouted and just sigh when he realised that his daughter spent too much time with his best friend while he's away for some volleyball tournament.
You walked towards them, eyes glinting with happiness as you thank the deity to ever give such a wonderful husband and an adorable daughter.
“Tooru,” You put your hand on his shoulder, making him stop talking as he almost whined about how cruel his best friend was to make his daughter calling him trash, “Go take a shower first, my king. Then we can eat the cake together.”
He nodded, making his soft brown hair jiggled a little. Squatting down, he made sure that the little girl on his arms hopped down safely on the ground,
“Alright, don’t start eating before me, okay!” He was always energetic, you could only shake your head at his antics before plopping down on the stool. Your daughter who was touch starved for your affection, asking for you to pick her up.
“Hug!” She could be so sarcastic and mean, but the fact that she was just a six years old girl was really showing at the moment. You hoisted her up, putting her to snuggle into your lap.
She was beautiful, having the soft brown hair that your husband had. Her dark eyes shone every time she looked at her father and mother, always warmed your heart since you could understand that she loves the two of you so much.
“I want to cuddle with mom a little while,” She mumbled, wrapping her tiny arms on your figure, “Dad will be done in minutes and I am sure he will be begging for your attention.”
“Pfft, that’s true,” You ruffled her hair, making her smile immediately, “But you are not that different from him. You always cling into me too.”
“Is that bad?” She blinked, making you squeal inside with how adorable she looked right now, “I guess I am really his daughter then!”
The two of you just sat there silently, engulfed by the sweet aroma from the cake. Occasionally, you would find here looking at the cake, ready to enjoy it since there were like three different kinds of milk inside the cake.
“Mom,” She called out, and you answered her with a gentle hum, notify her that you were all ears, “Why you married dad?” You were surprised to hear the question, it was unexpected and downright random.
“Ah, why, huh?” You stare into the empty spaces, a longing look could be seen inside your eyes while you remember as much memory that you could gather, “Mom fell in love with how hardworking he was, you know?” You tightened your embrace a little, a faint smile plastered on your face, “Then as we grew closer, I fell deeper with every little side that I found inside his beautiful facade.”
Your daughter wanted to snort at the words beautiful. But then, seeing how happy you looked right now, she decided to keep it inside. She wouldn’t lie, her father was famous as a heartthrob. Though, the whole world knows who owned his heart already.
She wrapped her arms up to your neck, nuzzling there in your warm embrace as she was grateful to have parents that love each other, to have a family that were caring and thoughtful.
Overall, she was just grateful to be born in this world. Six years, and she already felt like she was the happiest kid alive. She couldn’t wait for more to come, hoping that the two of you would always stick together, just like today.
The air was hot and humid today, sweat dazzled on your skin as you sat in the apartment that your boyfriend rented. You didn’t know anymore what makes you produce a lot of sweat all over your body. Either it’s from the heat of the summer, or the fact that you were sitting here, with news that you were afraid might bring doom on your relationship.
You sat on the balcony, closing your eyes as you tried to arrange the right words. Biting your lips, your eyes fell to the beach in front of you. A lot of people were occupying the sandy terrain. They were all smiling and laughing, enjoying each other's company.
The wave soothing your mind, it was the only sound you were focused on at the moment. And with your mind all over the place, you didn’t hear the sound of the key being turned, a sound that should notify you that he was home.
You tensed up for a second when you could feel his arms wrapped around your neck. It only needs a moment to know to whom the arms belong to. You could feel his lips at the crown of your head, sniffling the scent that your hair pervade.
Your right hand slid into his arms, caressing it gently while your eyes still closed, feeling a lot better, like you finally got the courage to talk to him. You turned your head a little as he gave you a little peck on your lips.
“I need to tell you something, Tooru.” He raised his eyebrow a little, wondering what was the cause of your serious tone, “Would you sit beside me?”
“Of course,” He didn’t wear any of his facade at the moment, so you could see how nervous he was as he sat on the chair beside you, turning it a little so he looked straight at you, “What is it, my queen?”
There he goes, rolling the nickname that you two shared since the two of you started to become an item. It always brings a butterfly in your stomach to flutter even harder as he said it.
“It’s uhm…” You took a deep breath, and he sat there, still worried, “Do you know that I love you so much, right?” He was silent, but then gave you a little nod. You avert your gaze to the ground, afraid to see his expression, “And well, I never planned this to happen… But Tooru, I-”
“P-Please, don’t do this.” You jolted to hear his plea, “Please don’t say that you were going to leave me, please… Anything but that.” Your mouth agape as you lift your head to look at him.
His dark eyes were glossed with tears, “Did I spend too much time on volleyball? Goodness I-” You immediately pulled him to your embrace, showing him that it’s not the topic that you were going to blurt out, “Don’t leave me…”
“I would never,” You cooed at him, kissing his forehead as your hand stroked his hair delicately, “Now, I am going to tell you what is happening.” Hearing that, he straightened his posture, looking at you straight in the eyes.
You took a deep breath, extending your hand at him for him to take. He was confused at first by your gesture. You closed your eyes, guiding his hand towards you, spreading his palm on your stomach.
“What-” You opened up your eyes, terrified to see his face scrunched up in disgust or horror.
But instead of any of that, he looked at you with his jaw dropped and tears brimming in his eyes, “I- Am I going to be a father?” He questioned you, voice as soft as fleece.
When you gave him a nod, that’s when he broke down immediately, “Oh my god, I-” He stood up, cupping your cheek as he smiled, “I am going to be a father, (Y/n).”
“Yes, Tooru.” You bit your lips, tears streamed down on your face as you were so relieved with how he reacted, “You are going to be a father indeed.” His eyes lit up, he walked towards the railing of the balcony,
“I AM GOING TO BE A FATHER!!!” He shouted, making you laugh at how happy he looked right now. A lot of other people who were playing on the beach looked up to your apartment, clapping and congratulating the man.
He turned his face towards you once again, but he stood there, “Oh! And one more thing guys,” He extended his hand, asking for you to stand beside him. You comply, walking there with a wide smile that you couldn’t contain any longer.
Oikawa turned his whole body to face you, eyes scanning your face as you stood there with confusion written on your facade. Then he started to kneel down on one knee, making you gasp when he suddenly had a velvet box on his hands.
You put your hand on your mouth, trying to compose yourself but to no avail. Your eyes were focused on the man who kneel in front of you to even realise how almost everyone on the beach turned their camera on, focusing it on the couple.
“From the first time I read your letters that you gave to me, I know for sure I want to keep you forever.” There’s a longing look in his eyes as he reminisces the first time he ever saw you, “And since then, I am glad that I have you through everything.” He bit his lips, trying to hold his tears for now, “Hell, you even followed me here, (Y/n)! Who else would even do that for me?!”
You were snorting by now, his face was so comical as he said it, “So, I might not be the best husband, or even the best father, but…” He trailed off, taking one last deep breath, “I promise I would never leave,” His fingers were trembling as he opened up the velvet box, “Would you bear my last name and stay with me forever?”
“Say yes, mam!” “Woohoo, you go Tooru!” “Please say yes!” “I am one hundred percent sure she's going to say yes.” “Aww, look at them.”
“You know you already knew the answer, right?” You teased him, making him snort as he stood up, “I love you now,” He leaned in to kiss you as your hand crept to his cheek, “And I will love you forever.”
You closed your eyes once his lips touched yours. People on the beach were shouting with so much joy at the sight, happy to see the couple they adore looked so happy.
While his lips still moulded with yours, he gently slipped the ring into your fingers. It was the start of the new journey, the start of something incredible. Something, that you wished would last forever.
The creaking of the bathroom door woke you up from your daydream. There with a turquoise shirt and dark green boxer, stood your husband who was ready to plop down beside you after a long day.
He slid under the blanket, wrapping his arms around your waist, wanting you to be the big spoon for today.
“Tired?” You stroke his hair that was now sprawled on your chest, “Your teammates teasing you non stop?” He grumbled under his breath, pouting as he recollected the event from today’s afternoon.
“Well, Tetsu wouldn’t stop bickering and teasing me.” He huffed, annoyed with the rooster head, “And today’s fighting was tiring too!” You giggled as he let out a long sigh, “I couldn’t believe I need to fight with my own daughter for your attention.”
The air was cold today, but when the two of you bathed in each other embrace, everything felt so warm with how much love the two of you radiated for each other.
“You know that I love you though, right?” You kissed his forehead, he gave you a faint smile as he absorb the words inside his heart, “I love you now,
And I will love you forever,”
The two of you completed the sentence together, knowing well about the phrase that you always share for each other. He looked up, eyes blazing with adoration as he still couldn’t believe that he would have a life like this.
A life where there was you, a wife that always cared and understood all of his antics. A life where there was the little girl who was now asleep in her room, the girl that he would protect as long as he lived.
He moved his body, caging you between his arms as he looked down at you. There’s no lust in his eyes, just pure love, agape. He leaned in, touching his lips to meet yours as the two of you shared a kiss that would be forever imprinted in both of your hearts.
All his life, he believed that no one would want to be with him, knowing how he prioritized the sport that he loves so much over anything else. But you knocked inside his heart, telling him that it was possible to have someone by his side.
He deserves the love, he deserves to have someone who would be there on every path he took. And as the two of you drowned by the immense feelings the two of you radiate, he knew he wouldn’t want anyone else but you,
The one who proved to him, that everyone deserves to have someone who would stay.

Where Did You Sleep Last Night? Blooming Dread.
Damian rarely stayed in for the night; he preferred to patrol the city as Robin, but he’d chosen to stay in for the night and help Alfred and Gordon run comms. He was pulled from his musings by the manor’s proximity alarms going off, someone was on the grounds and checking the security feeds showed a girl.
“Marinette.” He breathed. He could hear the shakiness in his voice.
She looked as if she had walked out of one of Drake’s beloved horror films; she was bruised and battered and swaying side to side. Her right was cradled by her left and she was favoring her left leg, while attempting not to fall over. Only unbalancing herself further. She had a black eye, a cut on her cheek and a split lip. Blood had pooled at the corner of her mouth.
Her knees were exposed, showing bruises and skinned knees. One leg was torn more than the other and there was a half-circle of smaller bruises above her favored knee. The worst of her injuries was her side, her floral dress was bloody, someone had slashed her side open. She had four long lacerations bleeding severely.
He rushed from the cave to the front door. When he reached it, he hadn’t realized he swung it open so abruptly, startling Marinette and causing her to back away from him in fear, stumbling on a possibly broken leg.
“Who did this to you?” His voice was hushed, but his anger was unrestrained. She looked at him with such fear and apprehension that his breath hitched. Her swaying was worse, and he lunged forwards, catching her before she hit the ground. He wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth. He forced himself to relax.
“Habibti please.” He pleaded, voice cracking slightly and an urgency in his tone.
“Adrien.” She mumbled; her face half buried in his shoulder as she started sobbing. His heart ached at the sound.
He gathered Marinette gently in his arms and carried her inside, whispering words of reassurance to her as her sobs had subsided into whimpers. Her body went limp and her head slipped off his shoulder. He stopped in his tracks, frozen in fear. He let out a sigh of relief when he felt her labored breathing. He’d always been aware that Marinette was small but holding her unconscious form in his arms made him all the more aware of just how small she really was. Every instinct in him screamed to tear Agreste apart. They also demanded not to let her go.
“Master Damian, if you would please carefully place Miss Marinette on the dining room table for her wounds to be tended to? Miss Cassandra, Miss Stephanie if you would help tend to her wounds as well?” Alfred asked, causing him to look up from Marinette’s bloody face, which had scrunched up in pain from his abrupt movement. He hadn’t realized his family had returned until he saw them standing behind Alfred. Hell, he didn’t even notice he never made it back to the cave. He was standing in the middle of the hallway holding Marinette. It felt as if all the air in the room had been sucked out, everyone staring at him.
The blood that had soaked her dress was seeping through and soaking his own shirt making him realize that if he didn’t place her on the table, she wouldn’t make it and he knew he wouldn’t recover from that.
Marinette let out a small noise of objection as he gently set her down on the table. He sighed as he pried her hands off his shirt, she didn’t want to let go, and it would’ve been cute had it not been for the circumstances of why she did it.
It was as if Marinette knew he was leaving her side and she wasn’t happy about it. When she finally let go of his shirt, he left the room, Marinette deserved her privacy.
He settled on the floor just outside the door, away from Marinette. His blood boiled as he sat there, just staring at Marinette’s blood on himself. He wanted answers and since only two people knew what happened and with Marinette unconscious, he would gladly maim Agreste to get them.
“Did she tell you what happened Baby Bird?” Dick prodded gently, interrupting his thoughts. Todd and Drake were staring at him, their expressions tight with worry.
“Agreste.” He snarled.
“Agreste,” Dick repeated in confusion, “as in Adrien Agreste?”
“That’s the guy harassing her.” Todd voiced, as Drake nodded his head in agreement. It took all his willpower not to throttle his brothers for the information he was lacking.
“What do you mean harassing her?” He demanded, rising to his feet. Marinette had never mentioned being harassed by anyone, at least not to him. He was conflicted; she clearly trusted his brothers enough to tell them about the harassment she was facing, but not him. What made him so different? “Answer me.”
“She said he was invading her personal space, not taking no for an answer, I don’t think she thought he was going to escalate.” Drake elaborated.
“I want to tear him apart just as badly as you do right now.” Todd snapped. “But you’re the one that Pixie trusts, she came to you instead of going to the police or a hospital, don’t let her wake up not knowing where you are.”
“And since did you care about Nettie?” Drake inquired, staring at him, brows raised.
He growled. “I don’t, not that it’s any of your business, Interloper.” Drake and Todd gave him a disbelieving look.
“Boys.” His father interrupted, cutting through the rising tension in the hallway. They all turned to him, expectant, the air ripe with anticipation. “Alfred and the girls are currently tending to her injuries. She has a broken leg, dislocated shoulder and four lacerations on her side. Her leg has been set and she will need a proper cast from the hospital but for now she has a split. Her shoulder has also already been realigned. They’re working on stitching her side up now.”
“I’m going to eviscerate him.”
“I’d like to claim bullshit about your previous statement, ‘I don’t’ because that was fake as fuck.” Todd snarked. He glared at his brother and lunged forward only to be intercepted by Dick. He fought the urge to elbow his brother in the ribs and let Dick drag him away rather than wait impatiently by the door.
Dick dragged him into the living room, not far from the dining room for which he was thankful and stared at him for a moment before speaking. Well, implored more than anything. “Talk to me Baby Bird. You’re wound up tighter than usual. Something is bothering you; we’re not leaving until you tell me.”
“That’s the problem. I’m unsure.” He sighed. “Drake was right, you know how much I loathe to admit that. I’ve been less than cordial with Marinette; so, why am I so ready to protect her? I didn’t even want to let her go Dick. The only reason I did was because if I hadn’t, she would have died.”
“Do you have feelings for her?” Dick questioned; he opened his mouth to refute but Dick held up a hand making him stop. “Just think about it. Do you have feelings for her? They don’t have to be big ones or anything extravagant. How do you feel about her? Because from where I stand and your words alone, it doesn’t sound as if you’ve given it much thought.”
Did he have feelings for Marinette? He wasn’t sure. He actually had to think about it, as Dick said he hadn’t given it much thought. Normally he’d reply with how much he couldn’t stand a person, about how they were stupid or annoying but with Marinette the longer he thought about her the more complex his feelings got.
He didn’t hate her; he quite liked her intelligence but that certainly didn’t mean he was in love with her either. His feelings for her were a mixed bag of explosives.
He admired her tenacity; she was a new kind of stubborn that he wasn’t used to dealing with. Kindness was something he was taught to exploit and that it was useless, that it was used to garner favors or sympathy and the such. Marinette never used it in such a way though, she was a fountain of unreasonable kindness. She baffled him.
She treated everyone kindly, no matter who they were or what they had done. Including himself, he’d been rude to her the first time they’d met, and she never let it get to her. She told him she wasn’t trying to be friends with him for his money, or family name and he only huffed in response which prompted her to glare at him in a way that rivalled Dick’s own disappointed expressions.
Though that didn’t mean she let others walk over her. He had seen her deliver tongue lashings to people who were rude, she glared at them until either they apologized or walked away. The first time he’d seen her stare at someone else, other than himself in disappointment was an interesting experience to witness.
She was truly something else entirely. She had gained his respect and that was hard to accomplish.
The first time he’d called her by her first name came to mind, her smiling face. It was one of triumph and elation, he didn’t even realize it was a memory he cherished until now.
Marinette was someone he cared about, romantically, and he hadn’t even realized that until just now.
“I care about her.” He whispered; dazed by the revelation.
Dick snorted and laughed. “That’s not really new news, though I’m glad you care about her.”
“I hate you.” He groaned. Dick gave him a droll smirk. “I—”
“You?” His brother badgered, ginning like a fool. He let out a sigh, controlling the urge to smack him.
“I don’t know, honestly.” He sighed. He’d rather not admit to him or out loud that he had romantic feelings for Marinette. “I could grow to like her.” He admitted softly after a moment. He refused to acknowledge Dick, who had started humming in a knowing falsetto.

who are your favorite top ten black clover characters and ships? talk about them!
Well that’s going to be a long list! I’ll state a simplified list and elaborate in the cut then!
Favorite Characters:
Leopold Vermillion
Finral Roulacase
Langris Vaude
Yuno
Asta
Rill Boismortier
Fuegeoleon Vermillion
William Vangeance
Mereoleona Vermillion
Dorothy Unsworth
Favorite Ships:
YunoLeo
AsuNoe / Astelle
YamiChar
Mars/Fana
Rillmy
Nozel/Dorothy
WiriPatri
YamiWiri
Klaus/Letoile
I have no other ships so I’m going for Finral x Light
Favorite Characters
Wow my favorite character lists is really not that diverse. Vermillion + Captain supremacy.
1. Leopold Vermillion
Where to begin with Leo? If you can’t tell by my Black Clover fanart being 80% Leopold, you’d know that I am iN LOVE WITH THIS KID AND HIS CHARACTER. I adore Leopold so much it’s such a shame that he doesn’t get as much screen time as he should because he has so much potential. His fiery, energetic, loud personality just sticks out to me. I could go more in detail but I’ll spare them to make this post shorter.
2. Finral Roulacase
WHERE TO BEGIN WITH FINRAL? I am absolutely in love with this man JAOISJDOAIOEHAO. Finral really resonates with me since I feel a connection with him through his low self-worth and his struggles with being an older sibling. Other than that, I absolutely adore him so much. He’s such a cutie and I love all of his comedic moments and how hard working he is sm.
3. Langris Vaude
This goes to show how much I just love the space brothers. Langris is such a complex character and I LOVE his relationship with Finral. Of course, a lot of people are really quick to hate on Langris-- and rightfully so. But examining his character, it definitely shows reason (but def not excuses) to why Langris acts the way he does.
4. Yuno
I just straight up adore Yuno. I love his stoic, cold character and his reasons for it. He could have his comedic moments which is quite hilarious to say the very least. I do wish we would know more about his experiences in the Golden Dawn though since I feel like even though he’s a main character, we hardly know anything about him. But he is just as hardworking as Asta and I love how healthy his rivalry with Asta is.
5. Asta
Asta is what the cool kids call, “the GOAT.” I absolutely love his character and his role as the MC of the series. I think Tabata writes his character really well. I love how he always picks himself back up, despite literally the entire world being against him. I think Asta is very inspirational and hands down one of my favorite shonen protagonists. He is very underrated and it pains me to see him downgraded to someone who screams a lot since he really doesn’t scream that much past the beginning. (I personally found his screaming endearing!)
6. Rill Boismortier
RILL IS MY FAVORITE CAPTAIN AAAAA! HE IS SO CUTE! As an artist, I absolutely adore his magic! I just love everything about him; his carefree attitude, his entire design, his laugh, everything!
7. Fuegeoleon Vermillion
King Vermillion, everyone! I just have a soft spot for the Vermillions. I love how strong Fuego is! He’s such a kind-hearted person with such a strong will! I’m super glad he has Salamander by his side because he deserves it!!!!!!!!!!! Out of everyone, I’m hoping he’ll be the next wizard king.
8. William Vangeance
You know what’s funny? I didn’t know people actually hated Vangeance until I encountered BC twitter lmao. But I love Vangeance so much. He’s another huge, complex character that people seem to either hate him or love him. His characters throughout the entire series plays such a huge role and I love that.
9. Mereoleona Vermillion
QUEEN VERMILLION! I just love how she isn’t your typical magic knight and she just does her own thing! She is the epitome of powerful woman and she is hands down, imo, the strongest captain.
10. Dorothy Unsworth
oH MAN??? GLAMOUR WORLD? ARE YOU KIDDING? Her entire character is phenomenal. From her design, to her magic, to her personality, she just screams perfection. I do wish to know more about her soon, though we got a glimpse of it when she was talking to Noelle about Megicula!
Favorite Ships
If I’m being honest, I really only have a top 3? But the only ship I’m actually passionate about is yunoleo so--
1. YunoLeo
If you’re new to my account, you’d definitely find this ship to be a surprise. It actually wasn’t a ship I thought about until my friend Himae and I were joking talking about Yuno and Leo and then went “holy shit wait---” The relationship of YunoLeo is all about POTENTIAL since the two have not interacted much in canon. But, I can’t stress enough how perfect I think Yuno and Leo would be together. They would definitely go into the “rivals-to-lovers” and “opposites attract” tropes. Not to mention, my personal headcanon for both of them is that they’re both gay.  I believe if Tabata were to allow Yuno and Leopold to interact more, it would definitely show the potential they would have together. I could elaborate more in detail but I think this post would be way too long.
2. AsuNoe / Astelle
Out of everyone in the “Asta harem,” I tend to like AsuNoe more, surprisingly. I feel like I’m not quite used to shipping the main MCs together, let alone the MC with the tsundere female MC. However, I have a soft spot for Noelle. I feel like if her character wasn’t super revolved around her crush on Asta, they’d definitely flow better. I like how they interact. It’s quite obvious that Asta does care about Noelle as much as she does. But, as oblivious as Asta is, I don’t think they’ll get together anything soon LOL. I’m not super passionate about AsuNoe, but I do like them the most out of all the potential Asta ships. From them being teammates, there’s a lot of build-up that can occur, not to mention the huge canon influence.
3. YamiChar
Charlotte’s crush on Yami is the cutest thing ever. I just love the dynamic between her and Yami; Yami being oblivious to her feelings, but thinking Charlotte secretly hates him since she avoids him but Charlotte avoiding him because she’s actually super nervous. I don’t think that Yami has a romantic interest towards Charlotte in canon at the moment, but I do think he does like her.
4. Mars/Fana
Pretty much canon, I don’t really have much to say about them aside from the fact that I hope they get married already!
5. Rillmy
OKAY RILLMY IS JUST SO CUTE. I definitely adore the idea of the two of them together! Their characters flow really well together and I really think they have potential! Maybe they’ll get more scenes together from this arc? I hope so!
6. Nozel/Dorothy
This ship is really cute to! Though we don’t actually see them interact in canon, the fact that Nozel and Dorothy seem to talk to each other a lot and Nozel being able to confide in Dorothy makes me go ohohoho.
7. WiriPatri
LITERAL SOULMATES. The fact that they were finally able to see one another makes my heart soar. The scene where Patri slowly falls against Vangeance’s shoulder as Vangeance holds him aaaAAAAAA FUCK. TOO GOOD.
8. YamiWiri
Such a good “rivals-to-lovers” ship. They work so well together and they have SUCH a good, strong relationship.
9. Klaus/Letoile
Okay listen, I ship them based off of purely aesthetics but like.... hello? Very good. They were in panels together in the manga! That’s enough canon validation for me LMAO.
10. Finral x Light
canon. amazing. spectacular. all based off on the fact that i am in love with finral roulacase.

Hi! I read all your x readers and love them! I especially loved the Bakugou x Rough and Tough Crush, I was wondering if you do a part 2 of that one? Where the squad are trying to get the two together.
Of course Nony! Glad you liked my self indulgent work 🥰
—————
🌄Bakugo + Rough And Tough Crush: Part 2🌌
Looking for the whole set? Take Part 1 right here!
Summary: The Bakusquad gets a little sick of watching you and Bakugo pine after each other in your own...special ways. So, it was decided to devise a plan to get you two crazy kids together!!
A/N: Me, internally: First request, don’t mess it up, first request, don’t mess it up, first request, don’t mess it up, first request, don’t mess it up-
\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
💥Katsuki Bakugo💥
Tumblr media
Let’s start by looking at your end of the pining stick
When Bakugo started treating you differently (like an equal/rival rather than a hurdle to trample on) your own perspective started to shift
You now knew what it was like to be on Boom Boom Boy’s good side. And if you were being honest? It was fun as hell 🔥🔥
Nothing got under your skin very easily, so you took Bakugo’s aggressive taunts and jeers as petty opportunities to take him up on his challenges
What’s better than a free chance to get stronger??? (Mentally, emotionally, and physically)
It wasn’t very long before you began to find Bakugo’s unwavering passion and drive attractive rather than amusing. You wanted to see more of it, to draw it out, to match it
That wild and determined smirk he used past bared teeth when you bested him would really make you feel some type of way 😳
But Y/N is currently a single-brain-celled bastard in this household
My dude, you don’t even misinterpret your feelings. You're just incapable of giving them a label 😭
You just know that you have warm and fuzzy sensations in your stomach whenever Bakugo is being uniquely himself, which you mistook for indigestion on multiple occasions
Y’all are so freaking dumb it actually hurts 😭😭😭
((^^The Bakusquad’s general consensus on you and Bakugo’s mutual pining))
Which brings us to how the Bakusquad decided to go about bringing you hotheaded lovers together
Kirishima casually suggested that they let you two get together on your own, but was out-voted in favor of putting an end to the infinite frustration that came with watching two people crushing on each other and not doing anything about it
Mina and Jiro thought of the first plan:
They’d have a movie night for everyone in the friend group and Mina would conveniently choose a ✨romance✨ movie. The rest on the squad would think of lame excuses to leave in the middle of the film, leaving only you and Bakugo alone (hopefully on the same couch). If things went well, you two would be together by the end of the movie
Their reasoning was that if the concept of romance was introduced at the right time, you’d both feel more inclined to confess your own feelings
It seemed feasible enough, so the plan was set into motion
As expected, the moment Mina pulled out the Blue-Ray box, Bakugo started to grumble about how corny the film was gonna be
But, Jiro caught a glimpse of you leaning over and muttering something to Bakugo, out of earshot of everyone else
Immediately, Bakugo began to loosen his shoulders, still not happy about the genre, but more complacent. He slouched into the couch and endured it like an adult
During the movie, especially the more romantic moments, the squad constantly stole glances towards you and Bakugo. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much to look at
Bakugo, in the same position as the beginning, didn’t seem bored, but like he’d rather be doing anything else at the moment. His eyes were glued to the screen in a judgmental stare, but that he dared not say anything to ruin a certain person’s experience
You, however, looked like you were enjoying the movie! However muted your position might have looked. Though you weren’t enjoying it cause it was good. Oh no, you looked like you wanted to ✨a s c e n d✨ into orbit with laughter every ten seconds
For the sake of letting the rest of the Bakusquad enjoy the romance aspect, you limited your actions to biting your fist whenever something hopelessly cringy happened
Any longer than the halfway point, and you would’ve broken down in a fit of hysterical laughter, roasts, and jeers at the screen
Soon enough, the rest of the group made their excuses to leave the room momentarily, disappointed with their results
But, when they came back, something beautiful had occurred
“Why the hell is she running back to the apartment?? HE CHEATED ON YOU?? KILL ‘IM??”
“SKSKSKS- Okay, but wtf is her FACE?! Is that supposed to be distress?? Freakin’ ahegao faceass.”
Bakugo was deadpan roasting the movie with an amused smirk. While you were coming after it with the gusto of Monoma coming after 1-A, snorting with every comment Bakugo made
Neither of you had even noticed everyone else come into the room
(Apparently, you had told Bakugo earlier that you two can shit on the movie all you wanted once you were alone)
Alright...not exactly the plan. But, possibly a step in the right direction
Sero and Kaminari thought of the next “plan”
I only put quotations, because it’s hardly thought out enough to call it one
It was literally just locking you and Bakugo in a closet 🤡🤡
Don’t worry Sero and Kaminari, I’ll play Taps at your funerals 🎺🎺🎺
You and Bakugo didn’t even have a genuine conversation in the closet...You were too busy yelling various profanities at your friends
“Dude, it’s really FUCKING HOT in here. Let us out while I’m still feeling nice!!”
“I’ll murder you bastards when we get out of here!!! You better start running now.”
Btw, you both ended up making it out of there on your own
You managed to deck the doorknob hard enough to break it off, giving Bakugo enough leeway to blow the door off its hinges
Bakugo took care of Kaminari, while you caught and hogtied Sero with his own tape
You gave each other congratulatory fist bumps afterwards 😚
Despite the rest of the Bakusquad miserably failing in their schemes, their setups did help develop you and Bakugo’s relationship. Just not as fast as they hoped
You had become a pair that could laugh and fight together. Being each other’s advocate became a source of pride for you both
You were all set to become a romantic couple
But, what actually brings you together??
Well, it went something like this:
I’m not too sure of the exact details, but I know that you and Bakugo were having an extra intense training session
Things were starting to get a bit sloppy, as your bodies were getting tired, but your morale was just as strong as ever
It could’ve just been a freak accident, or something neither of you saw coming
But, the point is: Either of you could’ve gotten really hurt, had you not been the tough cookies you are
In your perspective, you were oblivious to the danger that you had been in. And if you did know, you didn’t particularly care. You only saw that the person you cared about most in U.A. could’ve gotten hurt
The idea of that happening, and it being your fault (or, not being able to do anything about it) really rubbed you the wrong way. You were mostly angry at yourself
But, you took it out on Bakugo
Because you were the first aggressor, Bakugo responded with what he knew best: Aggression
Yes, he was absolutely mad at himself for putting you in danger. But, what made the feeling worse, was that you refused to acknowledge that you could’ve been injured as well
Your blatant lack of self-preservation pissed him off. Why couldn’t you care about yourself the way he cared about you?!
On the outside looking in, the fighting was far too intense for any peer of yours to try and break it up
Yelling, cursing, but neither of you put your hands on each other (Like you usually did when you play fought)
Strangely enough, I think that’s how you could tell the situation was serious
Finally, your emotions had reached their climax. All caution had gone to the wind at that point
You weren’t even thinking when you yelled the next thing in Bakugo’s face
“DO YOU THINK I’D FUCKING YELL AT YOU IF YOU DIDN’T MEAN THE GODDAMN WORLD TO ME?!”
“WELL FUCK YOU IF YOU THINK THAT YOU’RE ANY LESS IMPORTANT TO ME THAN I AM TO YOU.”
At that moment, you both turned away to storm off before abruptly stopping in your tracks
“What?!” You said in unison, registering what you both had heard and said
You sighed, frustrated at your own stupidity, unclenching your fists and begrudgingly explaining your true feelings to the seething object of your affections
As you spoke, you were realizing just how whipped you were for Bakugo. And how you didn’t know it until you were given the opportunity to blurt it out with pure emotion
Your words weren’t very poetic (You actually sounded very constipated), but what you said was what you felt in its rawest form
Bakugo could hardly think of what to do next. His crush was reciprocated and they confessed first??? Wtf???
His silence made you uncomfortable, and you didn’t feel like blowing up again. You huffed, shoved your hands in your pockets, and turned to stalk away, unsure of what to do next
Before you could completely turn on your heel though, you felt yourself being roughly shoved against a nearby wall
You weren’t even given time to react, because as soon as your back made contact with the wall, a warm, caramel-scented sensation met your lips
The kiss you had just registered didn’t even last two seconds, but the lingering feeling stuck with you as your brain effectively shorted out
“Yo, wh-what was that??”
Bakugo was impossibly red, one hand still on your shoulder, keeping you in place. Even though he refused to make eye contact with you, it was clear that what he had just done was completely intentional
He scoffed, voice barely above a grumble, “Damn dumbass...you didn’t even give me a chance to respond...”
\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
[🌌 There you go bud! That’s one set of headcanons for the road. Hopefully it lasts for a while, but if it doesn’t, feel free to come back! I’d be thrilled to see you again.🌄] —Reagan
