It's hard to express just how deadly British skies were during the Industrial Revolution. The air was filled with deadly particulate pollution.
Here’s a photo of Widnes, a town outside of Liverpool, in the late 1800s:
And here’s a photo of Leeds from the early 20th century:
Scholars estimate that, by the late 1800s, London’s air contained more than 600 micrograms per cubic meter of particulates.
This meant that the air in London was literally off the charts — these levels of particulates would make London’s air worse than “Hazardous,” which is the highest level (worse than “Very Unhealthy,” which is worse than “Unhealthy”) on the United States’ Air Quality Index. The EPA’s recommendation in hazardous conditions is to “avoid all physical activity outdoors.”

On March 31, 1970, John Lennon and George Harrison wrote a letter for Paul, which Ringo personally responded to.
“Dear Paul, we've been thinking a lot about your and the Beatles albums - and we decided it would be stupid if Apple released two big albums 7 days apart from each other (and an album by Ringo and Hey Jude) - so we sent an email to EMI asking them to postpone your release date until June 4th (then there will be a big Apple-Capitol convention in Hawaii). We thought you'd come to your senses when you found out that the Beatles album is coming out on April 24th.We are very sorry that everything turned out this way - nothing personal.Love, John and George.Hare Krishna.Recite the mantra once a day - the veil falls from your eyes.”
This made Paul very angry, which is why he broke away from the defenseless and innocent Ringo, threatening that he would kill him now and it would be better if he got out quickly
This day...

Strawberry Field gates. Nikon F65. Expired Kodak 400.
Strawberry Field was a children's home operated by The Salvation Army up until 2005. It was opened to the public in 2019 and now consists of a shop, cafe and training centre.
The gates which stand on Beaconsfield Road have been a tourist attraction and place of pilgrimage for some years due to the Beatles song.
When io visited I was unable to go into the new facility due to a private function so all i could photograph was the gates.
