so...snape fans have speculated where cokeworth is located in the england map or what it's equivalence would be. i've seen people speculate it's probably up north perhaps. maybe snape's a northerner.

however.

it's been stated multiple times that cokeworth is in the midlands. so we're thinking northampton, shropshire, stoke, birmingham.

but i prefer to think it's in the black country. mainly for these reasons:

1. cokeworth is an industrial town, even if spinner's end seems mainly abandoned, and the black country was the birth of the industrial revolution.

2. the black country was known for steelworks, glassworks and cokeworks which is maybe where the town got its title from.

3. the black country suffered from high unemployment due to the closing down of a lot of industrial sites in the 60s and 70s which ties into the idea of spinner's end being practically desolate now, and also the strain on the snape's household's economic position.

4. petunia met vernon dursley and marries him. his job was being the director of a firm that made drills. which are made of steel. steelworks anyone?

5. which leads to my last and favourite theory; petunia marrying vernon who perhaps also came from the black country then decided to name their child after something close to home. a nearby town perhaps - dudley.

At a social loose end, Perry befriends an elderly, impoverished black man named Bruce, whom he discovers was an important figure in the Harlem Renaissance. Through recalling his friendships with other important Harlem Renaissance figures Langston Hughes, Aaron Douglas, Wallace Thurman, and Zora Neale Hurston, Bruce chronicles some of the challenges he faced as a young, black gay writer in the 1920s. TENTH LORD IN RAHU NAKSHATRAS

Thanks for your patience in waiting for the next part of the series - I'm glad you guys are interested. As always, recorded for my own benefit, published for yours. General disclaimer is in my bio. Credit to KRSchannel for inspiring this post.

Find your 10th lord here, and find your 10th lord’s nakshatra here.

The 10th house rules our life’s honor. It represents the services we perform for society as well as the reputation we earn as a result. It is associated with the father and the career because traditionally, this is where both our standing in society and the role we performed in society would come from - inherited through the father’s family line. However, in our contemporary world, this isn’t always the case, which is why it’s important to know the grander themes at play.

The three Rahu-ruled nakshatras are Ardra, Swati, and Shatabhisha.

Rahu, or the North Node, is a non-planet object that represents our aspirations, our delusions, and our karmic trajectory. It is uncharted territory, where we are forced to experiment and step beyond our assigned role in life. Like its twin, the North Node is spiritually powerful, yet deceptive - but in this case, the deception lies in the allure of imagined possibilities. This is the dream of being a rockstar you have as a kid, and the fantasies of becoming a billionaire you have as a young adult. It is audacious, brash, impulsive and intoxicating. Hence, it both repulses, due to the fear of the fall from imagined heights, and attracts, for the glory it represents.

This isn't a hard rule, but those with Rahu, Mercury, or malefic dominated charts should be very, very wary. This placement also guarantees a sort of cult status for famous natives. Fans of these individuals are more than just fans - they are devotees. And critics? Haters? They'll be just as brutal and harsh as fans are reverent.

I apologize for those who tagged me Sunday, but I've been busy getting ready to host thanksgiving for 14 people, which means getting the grocery shopping done, menu set and organized, and getting my house deep cleaned. Haha. Yea.

But I did find some time between cleaning the kitchen and doing laundry to start a new wip. Lol. Its a Christmas fic with the premise based off of The Santa Clause because I love those movies. I don't want to give too much away, but I will say Bobby is Santa and later in his tenure as such being of Christmas Joy, finds and adopts Buck. This will be both bathena and buddie. The bright red and white pole just at the peripheral of his vison gives him pause and his attention flutters away from Polaris’s glow. Sitting atop the candy striped post was a vivid red sign with the curled white words, North Pole and an arrow pointing…directly upwards at the North star. “What in the?” Bobby raggedly whispered in bewilderment.
