KNOCKEMOUT IS FINISHED!! *SOB*

I am definitely crying rn coz my babies are done. knockemout is over!. honestly though the entire book 3 of the series didn't live up to the hype as much as the extended epilogue did..

i am severely disappointed by lucian and sloane's story beacuse idk i had my expectation real high like way high so i was kinda looking to get dissapointed. to me though the whole "let's get married and have babies" shit was soo fast and like baseless, it was as if the author forgot that the book was ending and she just dropped the whole thing in the end so...yeah to me this book was so not worth the hype or the wait. but hey that's just me and i very rarely criticize someone's writing because i know that it takes a lot of time and effort to bring something in the market so i am definitely grateful to lucy score for giving us such gems like things we never got over and the whole knoeckemout series. it was a delight to live every couple's life.

ps~ i hated the way waylay's story ended. the girl had so much potential and worth, it's like putting her just in her mom's way.

Review: Things We Hide From the Light

🌶️🌶️

Nash is police chief of small town in Knockemout in Virginia who is recovering from being shot. Suffering from PTSD, he is feeling pressure from the feds to remember the incident in excrutiating detail so they can complete their investigation. His brother, (daddy) Knox, is celebrating some major wins: getting engaged to Naomi and earning a new daughter, Waylay. In the shadow of his brother's success, Nash's normally cinnamon-roll personality is having growing pains. Enter: Lina -- badass b*tch and ex-lover to Knox many years ago. Lina doesn't give a single squirt of duck sh*t and does what she wants. As a private investigator for an insurance company, she steps on civilian and law enforcement toes for a living -- something that obviously catches Nash's attention. The two of them learn to share their deepest, darkest secrets with each other while they learn to move forward and grow as human beings.

MMC: Nash was a golden retriever in book 1 "Things We Never Got Over". In fact, his golden retriever-ness shines more throughout book 2 as he recovers from PTSD.

FMC: Lina is an interesting one. I'm not sure why she feels like she has to pick Nash up off of the floor, so to speak. It seems a bit out of character for her take a liking to a broody police chief.

You know, I've got to admit I didn't really like this one as much as book 1. I don't understand how a broken hero and a badass bitch with a congenital heart defect fall in love. It's a little steamy, sure. But compared to Knox and Naomi's story, Nash and Lina sound boring. Sure, they have some trauma-bonding situation going on. But, also, the storyline is awfully similar to that in book 1.

Would I recommend it? Well...as a standalone it might be okay. But as the 2nd book in the Knockemout series, it will always sit in the shadow of book 1. It's the forgotten-about middle child.

Do you want a filler book that doesn't really bring anything new and exciting to the table, but you just don't want to be kept out of the loop when book 3 comes out? Sure! Read this thing!

Are you hoping for an absolute BANGER of a book with relatable main characters and spice that'll have you sweating bullets? Sorry, hun. You won't find that here.

i've finished The Killing Kind. i was really looking forward to it bc it seemed like something right up my street, but apart from the last 15 minutes it was disappointingly bad. colin was great as always and somehow managed to be the most likeable character in it. why was everyone so one dimensional? ingrid was so annoying, is she that annoying in the book?? just all round a very weak and boring story. hoping for a second series though obviously lol, gotta get more colin content in my life.
