There is no experience more frustrating than trying to shop for clothes in-person as a non-thin person. Truly hell on earth.

#went to a vintage clothes market that was clearly catered for thinner people #so maybe 1% of clothes there would fit me. but nothing was clearly labelled #ONE stall had things organised by size and they had a dress i liked #but at that point i was so frustrated that the idea of going into a change room just made me go 'no.' #so I've left with nothing to show for it. i even had to pay an (admittedly small) entry fee. #this is why i have an extremely limited amount of clothes i actually like. #don't get me started on the specific hell that is shopping for pants when your waist and thighs are basically different sizes. #AND because I'm already complaining. my feet are too darn big for most nice shoes >:( #and i can't get any boots that go above the ankles because even if i get something that fits my feet. it's not gonna fit my big calves. #i fucking WISH had the energy to sew all my own clothing and/or the money to buy the stuff i like online/buy custom sized clothes. #anyway. it's barely 1pm on a saturday and I'm in a foul mood. #ramblings of a bystander

Muu Masterpost: Fashion & Aesthetic mini blurb

I'm not going to get into heavy specifics over his preferences for style across the years in this post, but instead will only being honing in on the most recent development. One built strictly on the strategy of appearing taller, therefore older and more desirable in his mind.

Being scraping by the barrel allowing him to be considered 5ft4 (though if we are going into specifics, he falls at 5ft3 and 3/4 quarters), he's not really one to stand out as the largest man in the room by any means. A trait not at aided by his almost left in time youthful appearance directly caused by the only just recently diagnosed Kallmann Syndrome.

As of yet, he has no desire whatsoever to utilize testosterone as a means of assisting him in appearing more like his age appropriate peers, and is instead opting more for the aesthetic of appearing larger since he's not anticipated to grow on hormone treatments as is anyways. That and he so greatly admires his jovial androgyny regardless of how well it fares amongst those around him.

The method of choice to achieve such a resemblance has been none other than to begin predominantly wearing three specific pieces alongside each other for the time being, and to elevate it from there over time. Those pieces are none other than very specific shirts with long, oversized bell sleeves at their ends to hide his hands, making indiscernible where his hand ends, and where the remainder of the sleeve begins; as well as high waisted, preferably slim legged pants, and vegan only platform boots. Namely those marketed by Doc Martens due to being very uneducated on what other options are out there for him to utilize. Examples of what all of those appear when paired entirely with one another is illustrated below.

he’s another absolute LOSER (affectionate). he’s so in love with you. you could stab him and he’d thank you. i strongly believe he’s very into thick/chubby people. he loves laying on your thighs or stomach.

ngl when you first heard about how he was in high school, you were vv uncomfortable w/ him because you thought he’d treat you the same (even though you’re MSBY’s manager)

so you didn’t interact with him unless it was to pass out towels/water bottles or go over notes (which you tried to get that over with quickly). and it kinda pissed him off cause he thought you were so pretty (it’s physically painful how attractive you are to him).

he decided to confront you one day. the team was in the locker room, yk just doing their thing, and he was finally able to get you alone. so he strides on over to you (like the loser he is) and asks why you avoid him. and obviously you hesitate but he kept pushing for an answer. when you told him, he was genuinely stunned. he stutters out how he’s sorry he made you feel that way and offers to take you to a restaurant as a way to start new (aka he tricked you into going on a date).

anyways— after a few more ‘hang outs’ of getting to know each other, he finally asks you on a proper date (osamu made him. he said that atsumu couldn’t just keep tricking you to going on dates. atsumu protested) (ps if u got boobs, he’ll squish em HARD so beware)

okay okay so…….. he met you at a farmer’s market <3 you had a booth and you were selling his favorite seasonings !!! he didn’t really LOOK at you until he went to pay for his spices and good LORD he basically drooled all over himself.

he whimpered a little… your curves made him feel a teensy bit crazy. and when you spoke?? when you laughed at a corny joke about seasonings?? he fell in love right then and there.

he asked for your number after the small conversation and invited you to try his food at his restaurant. when you realized he was the owner of onigiri miya, you were kind of shocked. you only ever ordered online. plus, i mean— you only got his first name. but that’s besides the point

anyways, you would have cooking/dinner dates and afterwards you’d just cuddle, yk cutesy stuff. he always made it a point to hold all of you or at least most of you. (he just loves touching you)

he has his hands on you whenever he can and he’ll squeeze whatever part of you he could. his favorite though— your butt and thighs. but sometimes he’ll squeeze them too hard and you’ll have to pinch him.

okay so— let’s say you work at onigiri miya. you’re the sweet new employee that the team has yet to meet (aside from shitty [/aff] atsumu).

the moment he walks through that door and sees you, it’s like one of those cheesy romcoms where the main character sees a glow around you and everything is in slow motion. brows up, eyes wide, mouth agape, face red. he’s genuinely in awe of you. (atsumu notices and makes sure to get a seat in your serving area)

when you come to bring them their food, bokuto is so nervous— his palms are sweaty and his whole face is red. at first you thought that maybe he was red because he was upset about not getting the other server (yk like red in the face anger??).

he ends up asking for your number at the end of his meal. you thought that maybe it was a joke cause, well, he’s a big ass athlete and usually those people don’t go for your type (which is so stupid bc chubby people are <3 [they’re very much my type]). but those thoughts left when you saw how nervous he was about it. this 190+ cm man was shaking because he was so nervous (it was cute).

he definitely messages you as soon as he leaves. he ends up calling you later that night, just so he could ask to take you out on a date (poor guy was too nervous to ask when he saw you) (the date went well and was very nice).

he’s very physically affectionate so expect his constant need for touch. when you’re both sitting, he likes to hold your thigh. especially when he’s driving (yk like— the one hand on the wheel, one hand on your thigh thing). he also loves to hold your hips and squeeze them. he says it gives him energy— doesn’t make sense but okay !

speaking of food and when you’re cooking— he loves to hold you while you do so. he’ll squish your stomach and hips (his favorite parts) while swaying to the music that’s playing (maybe you got soul and r&b playing [i am currently fixated on lauryn hill so bare with me]) it can get a little annoying (i like cooking alone so,,, yeah) but he’s very sweet and cute and amazing, so he gets a pass.

mmmm this man loves to cuddle, i just know it. he loves the position where like— half of his body is draped over you and he has his head on your chest cause it lets him touch his favorite parts of you.

he doesn’t care what you look like. if you have a good personality then that’s all that matters to him.

when he’s gaming, he likes to sit on the floor in front of you so that he’s in between your thighs and they sort of rest on his shoulders. which can be dangerous because sometimes he’ll get so excited and try to jump up but drags you off the couch/bed.

a little cliché, but look at anything for a little longer than one second and he buys it for you. i mean, what else is he supposed to do with all of his money? if you could fill a room with all of the things he's brought you just because you looked at it, you would need multiple rooms.

has a secret instagram account dedicated to you. posts all of his photos of you and the captions are just him ranting about how much he loves you. he blocks you to make sure you never find it because he's a little embarrassed. maybe he'll tell you about it one day though.

loves baking! his favorite thing to bake is muffins and bread, and let's you be the taste tester! request something for him to bake, and he makes enough to enjoy the rest of the month! if he ever needs to leave the house early for practice or meetings, you always wake up to a muffin, freshly cut fruit, and a note on the kitchen counter neatly set for you. on days he doesn't need to leave the house early, you wake up with breakfast in bed!

puts up with you and your shenanigans. hungry and too lazy to get up? he already prepared your favorite 10 minutes earlier. can't sleep? cages you into his arms and strokes your hair until you fall asleep. bag too heavy? he was already carrying it. you're the only person he'll put up with.

although the doesn't quite know how to express his emotions with words, definitely does with his actions. to physical touch, gift giving, and just spending time with you, sae doesn't let his inability of expressing feelings with words stop him from letting you know how much he loves you.

needs you to give him a kiss before you or him leaves the house for anything. these kisses last a little longer depending how long he'll be gone. if he's leaving for a trip overseas, he kisses you until you're breathless and pulls away every few seconds to murmur an ‘i love you’.

Dispatches: Spring Break

Portland, OR / April 10th / Dorm Room

Hugo awoke from his nap plastered in jizz, chocolate syrup, and ice cream. He was already hard again, his erection comfortably sandwiched between his expansive thighs and ballooning gut. He started jerking absentmindedly but then remembered he had to save his loads for when he was stuffing. He always ate more when he was horny. 

He lurched out of bed, his stomach sloshing with an unholy combination of cafeteria food, Boost VHC, and ice cream. He burped and rubbed his stomach, fingering the four stretch marks around his belly. He was determined to add a fifth and sixth by the time spring break was over and his roommate returned to the dorm. 

After rinsing off in the shower he pulled on a size small T-shirt. Hugo had never fit into a small. His pig brain took one night and he ordered it online whilst fapping. It was the perfect shirt to wear to the grocery store. A solid two, maybe three, inches of belly fat hung free beneath the hem. Some gray sweatpants showed off his half chubbed dick and caked up ass. A denim jacket that could no longer button accentuated his protuberant gut. 

Wobbling to the market on foot Hugo relished the stares his exposed overhang garnered. This was the only exercise he got without any classes. He was at the grocery store nearly every day, racking up charges parents’ credit card. The swoosh of the automatic doors felt like the embrace of an old friend as his eyes lit up at the aisles of food waiting to fatten him up. 

He grabbed a cart and started in the frozen food section. Pizza, chicken wings, pasta, you name it. His criteria when shopping: does it look good and is it fattening. He moved on to ice cream, multiple tubs, and then alcohol. He tended to stick with boxed wine because it was cheap and went down easy. Next was the dairy aisle, his favorite. Butter, whole milk, heavy cream, whipped cream, sour cream, they all made it into his cart. This was usually when people started to stare. 

He knew what he looked like. A young fat white slob whose clothes didn’t even fit him, gorging himself on dairy and junk food outside of his parents’ watchful eyes. People regarded him with shock and disgust, sometimes pity. He relished every moment. 

After a long meander down the snack food aisle and a quick detour through produce just for show, Hugo went to the register. The cashier awkwardly rang up the food while trying not to look at Hugo’s exposed lard, hairy and hanging heavy with stretch marks. The total was nearly two hundred dollars and at that moment he realized he had forgotten his personal cart for the walk home. Hugo was blighted with carrying all of this home by hand, unless…

He pulled out his phone and ordered a rideshare. It was only three blocks, but what was a fat boy supposed to do? Go home empty handed? Or worse, burn all the calories it would take to carry this back himself? 

The rideshare driver regarded Hugo with more disgust than anyone at the grocery store. With the backseat filled with groceries, Hugo sat in the front. He made a show of breathing heavy and scratching at his stretch marks, even burping a couple times on purpose. The driver could barely contain himself when Hugo asked for help unloading the groceries. He still obliged. 

Hugo’s room was dark and dingy, covered in take out containers, smelling of dick. “Fuckin’ pig” the driver muttered under his breath when he first walked in. When they were finished, he looked directly at the soft roll of flesh hanging over Hugo’s elastic pants and said “hit the gym, man.” 

Hugo shut the door and cracked a Boost.

I am howling at the sky for the look tonight that Harvey Guillén staked to death, spat on, and made it beg on the red carpet. Instead of just ranting to my queer fashion/fandom retail friends again, I took our collective slobber and tears to outline my plea to the fashion gods.

Why doesn’t this man have a ‘mens’wear line in every American mall? There is a gap in the market for adventurous, queer friendly suiting available through a retailer like Macys/J C Penney. Yes, retail is dying and wedding industry more so, but that’s particular to what’s available for consumers as well. Suiting is turned from off the rack into iconic by proper tailoring, but let me tell you from working all sides of the bridal salon, even up-scale clothing lines are getting rude as hell about quality and assembly to prevent tailoring and longevity.

This kid’s Disney charm would be perfect for introducing a plus size, inclusive line of fashion-forward pieces which include, say a QR code video about taking your own measurements, how adjustments work, with pieces designed to be sleek, with enough allowance for tailoring, and minding the lines in the garment to make the adjustments for plus size bodies easier. It’s no more adjustments than are made on straight size bodies, it’s just straight size bodies have more options to find a line which works with their natural shape.

But in my experience, it’s gender non-conforming folks and plus sized folks who get pushed out of finding pieces they can actually use for celebrations or work, much less pieces with actual personality that spark joy. This man has been killing it for years, really getting some clutch looks for events and invites in the fashion world. He’s showing proof of concept every time he steps in front of a camera.

Watching Harvey’s fashion evolution, I trust his fashion team and judgement to create a mid/high line for workwear to events suiting embracing a gender nonconforming audience. I can’t think of anyone better situated to become the ambassador of a brand with *the* formal wear for queer events and special occasions. I was tickled to see he sells his own merch and hope this experience convinces him of the joy working with artists and connecting their visions to a wanting public, dipping toes into the new ethical, sustainable trends in fashion. His looks alone shows he’s done his homework over the years about timelessness and early adopting trends.

For the years I worked selling/tailoring wedding dresses, there was the prophetic ‘someday… along will come the man who revives men’s fashion for events again’ to save the David’s bridal/men’s wear house lines who keep dropping plus sizes like mine and dying off. As the pet butch in the bridal salon I pleaded to the sky for better suiting options. Add that to my butch lezzy ways and trans masc circle of friends I legit spent this past Friday night drunk in a bar with a seam ripper adjusting jackets and darting pants in an unplanned sewing circle for a bachelorette until it was my round of karaoke. This isn’t the first time I’ve spontaneously started tailoring for the queers, I can’t keep up with the demand! Y’all we are in our twenties to mid thirties there should be better options than this that don’t require a vacation to LA/NY!!

I have ethical, sustainable fashion preferences about slipping in a retailer versus an online brand. But for the vision of accessible clothing to the masses pushing the envelope of the kind of quality only vintage pieces are affording the general public, this is the only celebrity really posed with the image, high energy, and bona fides to be the face of it. His connections in the fashion game are only growing as WWDITS wraps up.

If this man opened a pop-up suiting/fashion shop I’d take my limited time and resources to really dig in to the designers he promoted. I’d be howling in the streets for my celebrants to go get a Gullién. There’s no shortage online pattern makers, but there is a shortage of queer friendly shops to really get pieces that pop and it feels safe to enjoy in a retail environment. For average people wanting to engage with fashion that affirms their identity on their special day, there’s too much fucking compromise. Honestly it’s nice that I have a side hustle sewing to pattern, but I’d give it up in a fucking heartbeat for there to be actually sustainable and approachable options. I wish there was an in between of being ‘affordable’ gnc suiting in an American mall but add plus size availability and it gets sad for your most thrifty, creative friends. Someone needs the step in the gap, and why not someone at the top of the game?

Even if it was just a pop up line every few years, I’d fucking salivate over every image in that catalogue two thousand miles away for what it can teach home sewists just by virtue of curating those artisans with the express goal of queer, fat friendly designs playing together. Just the existence of vintage shops like Proud Mary creates a boom across the inter-webs of new sewists per post. Could anyone really imagine if there were actually accessible stores in key cities/supported by an online catalog with a personable, rising star as the brand face?

Please feed us more fashion, Harvey. Keep those stylists and designer friends close. Please. I cannot stress how many mascs/nb-bebes keep dropping your name every fitting consultation across this nation and it’s for good reason.

Complete FuniFuni Collection!

After many years of hunting I was finally able to complete my FuniFuni collection! I almost never see these plushies discussed in comparison to Fumos so I thought I'd talk about what I understand about them since the Circle that made them, Phantasm Screen, seems to be completely defunct. The initial run of Reimu, Marisa, and Sanae first showed up in July 2009 and the most "recent" additions, Satori, Orin, Remilia, and Flandre first showed up in August 2010. The only record of legitimate online sales of these plushies I can find is an old entry on Melonbooks for the hanging strap version of Orin from 2010. Some evidence suggests they were sold on Toranoana and at IRL events as well. They were most likely distributed at a few more events and probably at IRL bookstore/doujin shops after the final set was made before the Circle closed up shop. I would reasonably expect that all of these plushies are roughly a decade old, and no more new ones have been made since then. As time has passed it has obviously become more difficult to find online auctions for some of these, you can still find auctions for Reimu, Marisa, and Sanae somewhat often, but the plushies released later don't show up as often since there were fewer distributions of them. The full sized version of Satori was particularly difficult for me to locate, I think I won the only auction for the full sized Satori plush I had seen in 5 years? (For the absurd price of $12 plus shipping.)

These plushies are smaller in comparison to Fumos.

In my opinion the Funis are generally a bit more detailed than Fumos. More fabric types are used, with a lot of the frills Touhou outfits are known for are made of lace on the Funis versus the satin ribbons that Fumos use.

Additionally, if you'll forgive me for talking about plushie tooshie, Fumos generally stick with the exact same basic design for the area where the plushie sits, but Funis are willing to go into detail even down to the footwear. The bloomers are modeled like actual clothing, and look at Satori's socks and house slippers!

Let's talk about tags. In a world with bootleg Fumos, the presence or absence of a visible tag was probably the first thing people attempting to obtain one were taught to look for. Scalpers are not trying to duplicate Funis for fat stacks of cash so whether or not a Funi has a tag is more of a personal preference, or for a feeling of reassurance. I was able to obtain 12/13 of my Funis with tags, pictured below. (Did you think I was going to let the absence of a tag prevent me from buying the only Satori I had seen in like 7 years?)

Anyways, I've been hunting these for a long time and I'm very happy to have completed my collection. If you also enjoy Touhou plushies and are annoyed/infuriated with the resale market Fumo prices, and a character you enjoy is available in the limited selection, consider a FuniFuni instead. They are a highly detailed alternative plushie that generally sell for a fraction of the price of a Fumo. If you're interested in picking up any of these cuties you'll have to hunt on auction sites, but with the existence of Buyee now making proxy services easily accessible to most people, it's easier to get Funis for decent prices from JP Yahoo Auction. If anyone else out there is hunting for these I do wish you luck. Anyways, I need to get back to being mad about the fact that there aren't any Shinmyoumaru plushies, or goods in general. I went to a market thing today with some friends that was specifically geared toward (and organized by) fat people, and it was such a balm for my soul. I've been having an emotionally/mentally rough patch for the last week or so, and going to an event where pretty much everyone was fat and CELEBRATED was just...so welcome. I can't remember ever having been in a space like that before. I've been in online spaces that were intended to be fat positive but there are always trolls, so I could never feel quite safe.

At this event, I could go to any of the clothing vendor booths and find very fashionable clothing in my size. There were fat artists selling/displaying art of fat people that wasn't fetishy, wasn't meant to evoke disgust, it was just art. I didn't feel judgey eyes on me when I was taking up space in the stalls or buying cupcakes. There weren't booths with MLMs selling weight-loss supplements. The vendors and the other people shopping were all so cool and queer and fat and friendly and I felt comfortable.

I really hope I can go to more events like this.

I set out everything for my Shabbat and Havdalah sets just to see what it all looks like together and I could honestly not be happier? Not all of the crystal matches (some are definitely the wrong tones), but it's all so lovely regardless.

I'm so shocked the table cloth I bought fits the table perfectly, honestly. I was prepared to be really disappointed about messing up the measurements or something. But I'm pleased I didn't botch it, and it all worked out. It's really cute and wonderfully thick, too. And the little crocheted "lace doily" thing I bought for the center was a good choice to tie everything together.

And yes, I'm aware that Tulips are toxic to cats. But no, they are not toxic by proximity like Lilies are. Also no, my cats are not capable of getting to the Tulips; they are put up where they can't get to them and being monitored closely. They're only down for these photos.

I love my candle holder for my Shabbat candles, too. Not too sure about continuing to use these particular types of candles for it for Shabbat, however- even though they're easily accessible for me and I have access to a wide array of colors (which has been very nice, seasonally speaking). The wax just melts really fast and leads to a big flame that freaks me out a bit. So I may switch. The holder, though, is wonderful- and it came from a local Vintage shop that I adore.

The little crystal cup I bought off Etsy to use as my Kiddush cup wound up being exactly the right size for me- which is a complete miracle. I thought it'd be larger based on the listing, but it's perfect; I really wanted a smaller cup since I can't actually drink alcohol and I honestly don't want giant cups of Wine or Grape Juice for Kiddush and Havdalah.

My Tzedakah Box is what I think is a jar for an old Oil Lamp; I'm pretty sure it's glass and not actually crystal. But I adore the pattern so much I couldn't not use it. Even if it is huge. I have no idea where I got this piece, though. I just ... Collected it somehow, at some point? I have no idea how or when.

And I scored a lovely set of 2 crystal dishes at a Garage Sale last year- one large round and one long oval (only the round one's on the table today). I bought them specifically to use as Challah dishes the second I saw them, so I'm really glad the Challah cover I bought fits over both of them!

I bought this adorable vase off Amazon, that looks like brown wrapping paper for those nice high dollar flowers you can get at street markets and vendors. I've always loved the way flowers look wrapped in brown paper like that. The color's off, though- but the vase is meant to be painted so I'm not too worried about it. I just haven't actually painted it yet (and I can't wait to).

I braided my own Havdalah Candle from some small Orthodox Beeswax candles I bought off Amazon as well. I was super uncomfortable using any of the ones I could find pre-braided online, since I'm fairly new at this. So I figured a small one'd be safer. The braid's not the prettiest, but the pack of candles is like 50 deep so I've got plenty to get better with.

And then by little B'samin jar is my favorite thing. It's a tiny little candy dish from the same local Vintage shop that I bought my Candle Holder from. I filled it with Rose, Jasmine, Orange, Clove, and Pine for my spices, and I love the way it smells together. I stuffed it the rest of the way with a little fabric rose, and then stuck a milky quartz chunk in the center. It just felt right for some reason?

I'm just ... I'm so happy right now. It's perfect. I just wish I had a slightly larger coffee table to eat at, ha 🤣 And yes, I'm aware my house is a mess and that I need to re-wrap the cat trees again. I'm working on some of it a bit today.

I have prior experience with not taking breaks. A study break can be as simple as standing up and stretching.

When I was a kid, I had this awesome dress that I imagined was a doctor’s lab coat. I’d wear it to feel like I was doing some important doctor work! If you want to have fun while studying, be sure to wear clothes that make you feel inspired and motivated to change the world!

Studying gets boring if all you do is stare at your books. Be sure to start creating and using to-do lists. This is simply a list of what you expect to accomplish within that day. I divide my to-do lists into two parts. These are: the least productive things I can do, and the most productive things I can do.

Make sure to make yourself happy every single day. Find out what boosts your happy hormones and do a little of that every day. For me, that would be painting, reading a good book, or listening to great music. Do what makes you happy so you can boost your mood and enjoy studying that day.

Mind maps are a great way to have fun while you study. A mind map is something you draw to connect all your ideas together using lines. I love to use mind maps to connect my facts together. Draw mind maps with markers and colored pens for a little extra fun.

Memrise is another online study tool that helps you to study and have fun while you’re at it. It’s a memorizing platform, and let’s add all sorts of images and audio. You can literally learn anything on there. You can also create your own course and use it to study.

Ethical Alternatives to Dolls Kill

While Dolls Kill offers kawaii, punk, goth, and streetwear fashions, they’re an unethical fast fashion company that has been accused of stealing designs from small creators. They’ve also been accused of promoting rape and racism (implying that only white people can be goth, selling a Native American headdress as a costume, and supporting police during the Black Lives Matter movement) and having a lack of transparency in how they reduce their impact on people, animals, and the environment. With this in mind, here are some of my favorite alternatives I found (you can tap on the titles to access the sites)

LOUDBODIES

This Romania-based retailer offers sizes from XXS-10XL, and you can even make a custom order for free if you'd like! Many of their pieces are pricey, but they do offer an affordable line of fashion. Their values include sustainable and recycled materials, made-to-order clothing, low waste production, OEKO-TEX certified fabrics, carbon neutral shipping, body-inclusive models (see above) and locally-made clothing. They also offer worldwide shipping.

NOCTEX

NOCTEX is great for dark, goth, edgy fashion. They’re based in Canada and ship internationally. Available sizes only include XS-XL, but this retailer uses reclaimed and deadstock materials, and also have low-waste production. They offer many items including tops, dresses, pants, skirts, footwear, and accessories like bags, makeup, and jewelry, so there’s a lot to choose from!

Uye Surana

For lingerie lovers, this is the place! While they’re based in New York, their clothing is ethically made in Columbia, with cute designs that come in sizes XS-5XL, so it’s quite inclusive! Items include bralettes, undies, stockings, camis, and garter belts, so go on and be adorably sexy, my loves.

KILLSTAR

Despite being introduced by Dolls Kill, the UK brand Killstar is actually more ethical. In fact, they’ve cut their ties with the brand over the owner’s support of police during the BLM movement. They’ve donated to charities that promote ending racism (whereas Dolls Kill promoted racism to an extent) and they also promote individuality. They offer sizes XS-4XL (from what I’ve found) and they even have men’s clothing!

Broken Promises

Another brand that left Dolls Kill, Broken Promises is based in California. Offering sizes XS-3XL, this brand offers clothing that caters to skate culture for all genders. Their clothes are also sold at Zumiez, so if you don’t want to shop online and you would prefer to go to the mall, you’ll probably find them there!

Disturbia

And another UK gothic brand that was promoted by Dolls Kill, this family-owned business has been going strong since 2003. Their website claims that sustainability is “a core value in [their] ethos”, and their goal is to create fashion that doesn’t harm the environment. They’re committed to recycling and reducing their carbon footprint, and all of their leather is false or recycled to reduce animal cruelty. They have a fully traceable supply chain with manufacturers in the UK, China, Portugal, Turkey, and Morocco, all with safe production facilities. Rest assured, your money will be going to a great place.

Cyberdog

Ravers, this one is for you. Catering to clubbers and DJs since 1994, Cyberdog offers neon and dark streetwear. They’re based in London, and their flagship store is located in Camden Market, so anyone who lives around the area (or would like to visit) can see these rad designs in person! (P.S: A huge downside is that they only offer sizes S-L, so this brand has the smallest size range on here)

Gothic Lamb

“The home for melanated misfits”, as their designer calls it, is black-owned and offers sizes from S-5XL, making this brand one of the more inclusive ones on this list. The owner, who calls herself Lucy, founded Gothic Lamb in the summer of 2016. She was inspired by brands like Killstar and Disturbia, however, she found that there was a lack of representation at the time, as she felt that none of the models looked like her, so she decided to create her own. While there is a small collection, it’s still a great collection and it’s a great place to purchase from if you like supporting black-owned businesses.

A vaporwave-streetwear brand based in Los Angeles, CA, they support and collaborate with artists to create their designs (hence why they’re named publicspace). Though they have a small collection, their size range is XS-3XL, so it’s mostly inclusive.

Shop secondhand

You can also shop on Etsy to purchase from independent designers. A much cheaper option would be to shop secondhand. Sites like Poshmark and Depop are great for shopping secondhand, especially if you want to buy from fast fashion brands like H&M and Shein without giving them your money. Alternatively, you can go to your local thrift shop (do not shop at the Salvation Army, they are aggressively Christian, homophobic and transphobic) or consignment store. You can give your unwanted clothes and other items to these places (consignment stores will give you a certain percentage of their price for the item) to help people and need.

In conclusion, please do not buy from unethical fast fashion retailers and consider shopping ethically, whether it be for new or used clothes.

I bought most of my stuff in stores but I can also recommend About You. They have a big selection of clothes for what I'd say reasonable prices.

Etsy also has a lot of cute stuff but tends to be on the pricier side in my experience.

Otherwise if you're looking for underwear or swimsuits made for gnc ppl I've heard good things about origami customs.

Obviously I would not recommend buying stuff from Amazon or fast fashion labels like Shein but if that's all you can afford, go ahead.

And sadly I don't think it's possible to completely avoid child labor and slavery in the clothing market so make sure you look into how to properly wash your clothes and don't buy too much new stuff.

summary: a doll customizer and a hero who wants a doll, it's a match made in heaven!

Hanta knew he wasn’t exactly a popular hero. not that it mattered, he didn’t get into hero work to be famous, he did it to save people. It did sting sometimes when he got referred to as “the tape guy” instead of by his name but that was petty. Besides, it was nice that he didn’t have to hide his face to go out, he knew Bakugou had to hire a personal shopper because fans would swarm him if he went out in public. Sero couldn’t imagine letting someone else know how many Zebra cakes he ate in one week. Besides, that would mean he wouldn’t get to go shopping with you. 

It was small, but Hanta always looked forward to spending that time with you. Sero never thought he’d be the kind of guy who cared what type of trash bags and paper towels his partner liked but here he was, Caring. 

“What are you smiling at?” you asked, kissing Sero’s cheek, pulling him out of his own thoughts. 

“You, pretty,” he answered automatically. Sero couldn’t help but smile when he saw you, you just made every room better, and he couldn’t help it. 

“Sappy,” you snapped back and pushed the cart onward. 

Even though you were grocery shopping you couldn’t escape heroism. Branded cereals, t-shirts, themed Nerf guns, and of course Action figures. Sero didn’t notice but you did, there was nothing for Cellophane. You knew that he had merch, whenever Hanta got some new prototype he always gave it to you before it was released to the larger public. But most of that was online, he hardly ever had stuff on shelves. 

You pulled down an Action figure of Deku, Sero didn’t have anything like this. You carefully turned the package over in your hands trying to see the doll through layers of plastic. You’d had an interest in collecting and making dolls of your own for a few years now, it was interesting to see how these toys worked and pierced together. 

“I thought I was your favorite hero,” Sero scoffed seeing how much attention you were paying to someone else’s merchandise. You put the doll back and stuck your tongue out at him. 

“What gave you that idea?” you teased. Hanta didn’t have anything like that, you wondered if he’d like that, if not a mass-marketed toy then maybe something unique he could have. Your mind wandered to making the doll, it wouldn’t be hard to style a doll with his hair and makeup to look like him. It wouldn’t even be that hard to make modified elbows for him. But it would be a pain in the ass to make clothes. His suit was so detailed it would be difficult to scale it down to the size of a toy. 

Difficult, but you were sure you could do it with a few rough drafts. The real trick would be keeping it from Hanta. Normally you would share your progress with him, but you wanted to keep this doll a surprise, and if it turned out to be a complete failure you could just scrap it without disappointing your boyfriend. You started on your secret project as soon as you got home, pulling out a doll that would make a good base before beginning.

Sero had never thought much about his own action figure, but Kaminari had started prototyping one for his brand and would not shut up about it. It also meant that Sero was the only one in his immediate friend group who didn’t have anything like that. 

He remembered a few weeks ago when you’d lingered over the Deku Doll. he liked it when you wore something of his, and he knew you liked dolls, it might be nice to give you something like that. So he started asking his PR team, and he got shot down. He wasn’t high-ranking enough, making a toy would only be a loss to the company it would cost more than it would bring in. His heart sank a little bit when he heard that. He didn’t care if he was the number one hero, but it stung that his rank meant he couldn’t give you a stupid gift and that he wasn’t on the same level as friends. 

Sero shook his head and tried to ignore the negative thoughts. A Doll of himself was a selfish gift anyways, he was just jealous the Deku doll caught your eye and jealous that Kaminari was more popular. 

He could give you a better gift than that any day of the week. No one knew you as Sero did and he knew what you’d want more than anything; a relaxing night with your boyfriend.

One sec let me clean up a little bit,” you said disappearing again, Sero never minded when you worked while he was home, but Recently you’d been insisting that you wanted to spend time with him every second that he was there and you tired to have your workspace clean by the time he was home. 

Sero loved spending time with you, of course, but it made him a little sad like he didn’t see you enough and it was making you desperate for any scrap of time with him, 

While you were distracted Sero brought in his surprise, it wasn’t anything big just dinner from your favorite restaurant. 

“Hanta!” you gasped, Sero turned and grinned at you

“Surprise baby,” he said then quickly caught you as you threw yourself at him, peppering his face with kisses. 

“You’re too sweet to me,” you gushed. Hanta smiled, basking in your praise. 

“It’s nothing, I just wanted to surprise you,” he laughed steering you both to the kitchen so that you could dig in. 

After eating, Sero pulled you to the couch and into his lap holding you there. He rubbed slow circles against your hips and the tops of your thighs. You had your arms wrapped around his neck and nuzzled into his chest. Sero held you closer.

“I love you, hanta,’ you murmured. 

“I love you more,” he assured you. 

“Well I don’t know about that,” you teased pulling back so you could look at him, grinning mischievously. He knew that grin. 

“What did you do?” he gasped no longer relaxed. 

“What? You surprised me, Can’t I surprise you too?” you demanded laughing to yourself. You tried to climb off of his lap but Sero caught you and didn’t let you go. 

“No, I’m not ready,” he laughed. 

“It’s not bad!” you giggled. 

“But I’m scared!” he protested. You managed to wriggle out of his arms and stumbled to your office, Sero followed you like a dog after his owner. 

“Stay here while I get it,” you ordered. 

“What’s ‘it’? How long have you been hiding this from me?” Hanta demanded. Nevertheless, he stayed obediently outside of the door. 

“Now, it’s not perfect but I hope you like it anyways,” you said shyly with your hands behind your back. Sero dropped the teasing you’d put a lot of effort into this, and he knew he’d love it no matter what it was.

You handed him an action figure, at first he was confused, then he realized it was him. 

“Oh my god, you made this?” he asked, admiring the detail.

“I ended up just painting the suit, it was too hard to sew I just-”

Sero cut you off with a kiss. 

“I love it, baby,” he whispered, Sero knew he would treasure it forever, his own doll.
