CHAPTER 1: THE GIRL
SERIES MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: They’re only staying here for 2 weeks. Din is just going to lay low with the kid for a while, to shake off those pesky bounty hunters. It’s not like he’s going to find an unconscious girl washed up on the shore, that he has to take in, it’s not like she will attract more bounties than he could possibly count, everything will be fine... until it isn’t.
WARNINGS: (for the whole series) Mature language, sexual references, mention of experimentation on children, wounds, hurt/comfort, angst, fluff, possible smut (I’m not sure where this is heading at the moment), typical violence, descriptions of blood, fem!reader, please tell me if I miss anything.
~ Some scenes/inspiration is stolen by stranger things and marvel, so there will be some scenes inspired by those.

Birds tweeted happily in the gentle morning sun. Dew drops were still melting off of thick leaves that swayed with the soft winds. The child waddled about, grass crunching under his tiny feet, as he chased a few frogs. This planet seemed perfect to lay low on. Din thought as he monitored the little gremlin. It had a perfect supply of water, there was surprisingly a small ramshackle hut the two of them could stay in, and most importantly the population was very low, which meant there was a very low chance of any bounty hunters being there.
 “Ready to go check out where we’re going to live for the next 2 weeks, womprat?” Din snides.
~~~~~~~
The hut could use a few adjustments. Din concluded, after a good look around. But it would make do for the short time they were there. The only thing that slightly worried him was the river right in front of the cabin. Hazards swam through his head as he eyed the large waterway from the rounded window in the kitchen area. Grogu could get away from him and drown... That was one hazard, Or, there was always the risk of flooding, that was another, or potentially finding a girl washed up on the shore unconscious was always another risk- wait..what? Din zeroed in on what he assumed was a lifeless body washed up upon the surface.
“Stay here, kid.” He orders, taking his rifle and slinging it over his back. He glances at him quickly, before walking outside, over to the river.
As he neared the girl he could make out more. Like her soaking wet h/c hair, which framed a small face, with a trail of a mix of water and blood trickling down beside her eye. Her skin was a gradient mix of s/c, although a little pale, most likely from being in the water for so long or how much water she swallowed before she got there.
Din knelt down, feeling a cold wave of water rush up his knees. His gloved hand lightly caressed the girl's cheek, before sliding down to her pulse point. It was faint, but there was still a pulse. After confirming she definitely wasn’t going to be a threat Din pulls her into his lap, and stands up. Loads of water trickled from her body, hitting the river with hushed taps. Din rested the girl's head in the crook of his neck and held her ice cold body close to his.
Din had set a small fire in the fire pit the cabin conveniently had and placed the girl in front of it, using the small couch to support her back, so she was sitting up. Her clothes were ripped and damp with the remnants of water, hopefully the heat of the fire dried most of it.
Both the Mandalorian and Grogu eyed the girl in utter curiosity. She was still unconscious but her body was warming up and some colour returned to her skin. Deciding that she wasn’t going to wake up just from the fire, Din turns to CPR.
He lies the girl down on a make-do pillow (his cape folded on the floor) and places both of his hands on the centre of her chest. He began pushing down and then pumping her chest and within a few minutes she was up and coughing. Spluttering water all over the wooden floor. “Easy.” He rumbles, rubbing the girl’s back in an attempt to get any remaining water out of her system. After she get’s most of the water out of her system Din hands her a glass of water to drink from, however, she doesn’t drink it, simply stares at it in question. Did she think it was spiked? “You can drink it. It’s safe.” Din tries to sound as sincere as he can, but the girl still doesn’t budge. So with a sigh he takes back the water and places it on a small bench. “What’s your name?” He asks gently, as if he spoke too loud he would scare her away. She doesn’t respond, only stares at him blankly. “Do you even have a name?” He questions. This time the girl nods. “So what is it? Can you tell me? Maybe I can bring you back home if I ask some people if they know you.” He suggests. The girl frantically shakes her head, a worried expression taking over her features. “Hey, what’s wrong?” He asks, placing his hand awkwardly on her shoulder. “Home, bad.” She says almost too quickly for Din to catch on. “Bad?” Din mutters more to himself than the girl. Hesitantly the girl rolls one of her ripped sleeves up her arm and turns it over. On her wrist was some sort of tattoo. ‘003’ it said. “What’s that mean?” Din asks, curiosity evident in his static voice. He inspects the inky black number engraved on her skin, turning her wrist in his hand gently. She points to herself and taps her chest twice, before letting her hand fall limp to her knee. “Your name? That’s your name?” The Mandalorian questions. She nods once, eyes never leaving his visor. BANG! The girl jumps and spins around to the loud noise, trembling in fear. “Kid!” Din scolds, yanking Grogu off of the kitchen table he miraculously managed to climb. Mando picks up the pan that the kid dropped and places it back where it was. “Sorry about that.” He apologises, turning to the girl who was panting from the fright. She hesitantly turned her attention to the kid, who innocently stared back at her through thick honey-kissed brown eyes. He waved a small green claw at her, and she slightly tilted her head to the side. “This is Grogu.” He introduces. “Kid, this is...Three...... I am sorry, but I cannot call you by a number... You don’t..have any other name?” Din asks the girl who was hugging her knees still on the floor. She shakes her head and stands up slowly, but stopping midway in pain. Her hand snakes up to her head and she dabs her finger where the pain was sprouting. When she brought her hand back down, there was a blotch of red smudged on her fingers. Blood. The girl's vision went blurry and a feeling of nausea settled in the pit of her stomach. She felt herself get knocked off balance and her body falling back, but it was quickly caught by the Mandalorian. She could distinctly hear the Mandalorian saying “We have to take care of that” before completely blacking out again.
~~~~~~~
You awoke on a small bed, with the Mandalorian at your side. You could feel a dull sting on your head but you were relieved to say that no blood came on your fingers when you gently skimmed them over your head again. The man covered in beskar helps you sit up and lean your back against the wall. “Drink this.” He murmured. Handing you a glass of water again. You gave it the same look as before. He had been so nice before.... he wouldn’t spike it. So you took a quick sip of the water. The unsalted liquid was delicious and ran down smoothly, temporarily soothing your sore throat. When you hand the glass back to him he replaces it with a bowl. It was filled with a rainbow of fruits. Green melons, fresh, ripe apples, and neatly chopped pears. It even looked refreshing. “You’re probably starving.” Rambles the Mandalorian. He hands you a fork and you start wolfing down the fruit. The juices exploded in your mouth leaving you with a sweet aftertaste and a full stomach. You let out a huff of delight and snuggle further into the bed, content of your meal.
~~~~~~~
Din takes the now empty bowl off of 003. It didn’t feel right calling her that. She was a human being.... not a droid that needed to be labelled with a number. “D-Do you like your name being 003?” He asks the girl, who had a satisfied smile on her face. She cocks her head to the side, quiet as ever. “Who named you that? Where’d you come from?” Din pushes. Then, as calm as ever, she replies.
“Don’t ask questions”
“You don’t wanna know.”
Marian’s character arc in the Double Dragon expanded universe is both awesome and extremely funny.
For the first few games in the series her entire purpose is to repeatedly get kidnapped, possessed, and/or straight up murdered (she gets better) in order to motivate the male leads.
In her latest appearances, conversely, well
It’s like if Princess Peach got sick of getting kidnapped by Bowser all the time, so she got super jacked and started punting Koopa Troopas into the stratosphere.
