Can I get a thing where Agni spends the holidays with his fem s/o? Maybe they meet her family?
(does the fact that it's feb stop me from writing this...No, it does not, because I was basically absent and into a horrible situation!!!!)
Tumblr media
Agni and S/O spend the holidays!
Tumblr media
✧ If there is one thing I wish to say as an Indian like him, is that we don't popularly used to celebrate Christmas as it isn't of our main religions' or Hindus' or Muslims'.
✧ Agni also being an Indian, probably didn't celebrate Christmas because many Indians don't follow Christianity, but they follow Hinduism or Islam, and since Christmas isn't a thing for Hindus or Muslims, but other than that there are other festivals too! Like the Diwali if it occurs in December, Ekadashi where Gods wake up and most marriages are recommended to be celebrated and karwachauth where the bond of a husband and wife is celebrated!
✧ Although, he doesn't celebrate Christmas, he will be willing to celebrate it with you, if you'd explain the Christmas traditions to him otherwise he'll ask Sebastian about it...
✧ He would love to bake cookies with you! He may not know, but he secretly has been practicing with Sebastian on how to make perfect Christmas flavoring cookies!!! He made a cranberry flavored one too!!!
✧ India has a huge variety of clothing material, so getting some good high quality material for Christmas sweaters is quite nice, though they won't have any designs though....But it's okay, cause he's happy!!!!
✧ He would love to play in snow, spending hours to create beautiful letters, messages, drawings and make things with it like castles and just try to make you smile!!!
✧ He will probably make you Indian sweets and if you ask him hard enough, he will put his cooking insecurities behind and make you some Victorian desserts as well!
✧ He would help you pick a Christmas tree and help you decorate it, and then you both end up buying two tiny ones and have a competition to see how will decorate their tree the best and as always Agni won, even Sebastian lost in front of him.....
✧ He will probably take you around the Indian city, bringing you chai and different treats to eat as you both walk around and spend time with each-other and later on you both end up dancing in a newly wedded couples dance show-room....He looked handsome in the lighting.....
✧ Soma would also love to spend Christmas with you and you both being menaces, with you teaching him Christmas rituals and all that and you both making a mess which is gonna give Agni a headache while he tries to clean the shit up....
✧ You teaching Soma how to sing Christmas carols and he tries his best, but he barely know how to pronounce the words correctly and when he does, he forgets the words, but it's okay cause it gets a laugh out of you and it makes Agni smile seeing you happy and laughing!

It's possible Thor claims the thunder moniker to confuse people as his name also means thunder, however this still means he should be using the word lightning, as to get both words under his belt.

oke everything's cool now so guess what new art tool i finally got :DDD
PEN TABLET YEAA
so I made a lizzy, fencing.
headcanon: while I don't think lizzy is the type to yell during a bout, I imagined a time when she beat someone especially hard and had to give a victory exclamation.
Tumblr media
I also want to imagine that after BoA, o!ciel was then prompted to go to one of her tournaments. and he's happy because the person he's routing for is winning.
Tumblr media
I'm going to art rant now so unless you wanna see that, thanks for viewing!
this is my first time working with pen pressure in digital art and I am incredibly pleased. I thought it would take me much longer to get user to, and I'm still pretty bumpy(not to mention it crashes on me) but otherwise it's actually going pretty good! I look forward to experimenting with digital painting in the new program I'm using. as of right now, I'm actually going slower than expected(these took like 5 hours 😶) which is ironic cause apparently having a pen tablet should make you faster according to other artists. but I think that's expected with where i am currently.
with all of this though I gotta make sure to not forget how to draw with my finger cause I still have a bunch of WIPs that I wanna finish on procreate😅... like a lot l😶
k I'm done now

Can I request a scenario where female reader seems to neglect khun AA without her realising it and made khun upset ? Thank you(灬º‿º灬)♡
sure you can, here it goes~~
-
The 35th floor began one hell of a ride.
You slouched as you approached the bed, yawning in exhaustion. It felt as if every muscle of your body screamed in overexertion, begging to rest. Having to live on constant alert to prevent your ticket from being stolen was one thing – barely sleeping because of the stress resulting from the duel between Bam and the ancient Slayer coming closer happened to be another hardship on its own. Trying to distract yourself, you started spending more time with your teammates. Idle chatter helped with temporarily forgetting about the upcoming battle.
As days passed, it became harder to find a distraction; Wangnan's antics could only do so much. One thing you had to admit was that said man turned out to be surprisingly capable of lifting your mood. At first, you were so invested in listening to his stories you didn't even notice when Khun started giving you weird looks. The more time you spent with Wangnan, the more evident his unusual behavior became.
"Your boyfriend is acting strange again," Wangnan pointed out during one of your conversations.
You raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"He's staring at us. Like, all the time." The tone of his reply sounded as if you made him state the obvious. "Did you guys have a fight or something?"
You shook your head. You couldn't recall any instances of you two interacting recently, much less fighting.
Oh.
"I'll go talk to him."
Khun wore a curious expression as you approached him.
"So you do remember I exist," he mocked. Not bothering to look at you, Khun focused on fixing his hair instead. "How kind of you."
You sighed. Khun had every right to be upset, but he didn't need to be so petty about it.
"Can we talk privately? There's an empty car next to this one," you asked, wishing to resolve the issue swiftly and hopefully without an audience.
Khun shrugged.
"You weren't so keen on talking earlier."
You learned 'swiftly' wouldn't apply to your situation. There was only no audience to wish for left.
"Khun, I'm sorry for neglecting you. It's just that all that stressing about Bam's fight got the better of me. I didn't mean to ignore you."
Khun stopped playing with his hair. His attention switched to your face, blue eyes coldly analyzing every micromovement of your muscles. It felt like you were an opponent whose weak points he was trying to discover.
After a minute of awkward silence, Khun smirked.
"I accept the apology." You sighed in relief. "But it's not complete yet."
You weren't sure what he meant, but Khun didn't let you ponder on that for too long.
"How about you show me how sorry you are in that empty car you mentioned?"

Soma and Ciel sneaking McDonald's into the house and eating it under the piano
Let’s say that Agni and Seb have stepped out of the house for a few minutes to run errands, leaving Soma in charge of his little brother. The two boys quickly reach the same conclusion—without Sebastian to nag and scold about the evils of fast food, this is the perfect opportunity to grab some McDonald’s! Their parents will never know!
There are a couple of different possibilities as to how they procured said McDonald’s:
1) Soma earned his driver’s license not too long ago, so he and O!Ciel jump in his car and head over to the nearest Mickey Dee’s. The overenthusiastic boi hits the curb a couple of times, and blasts pop music from the radio at full volume while singing along to his favorite tunes (despite his urging, O!Ciel refuses to join in, hands clamped over his ears 😂). However, they make it back in one piece.
2) O!Ciel decides that the safest bet is to order the McDonald’s online and have it delivered to their address. He stealthily pays the driver in cash so that neither of their parents will notice a withdrawal from the boys’ bank or credit accounts. 😈 Soma is impressed with his crafty baby brother!
Clutching their greasy McDonald’s bags like stolen treasure, O!Ciel and Soma scamper over to the grand piano (acting like it’s a little fort) and chow down. Soma magnanimously gives O!Ciel the cool toy from his Happy Meal, a kindness which the smol gremlin repays by nabbing a handful of his elder brother’s fries. Their plan went off without a hitch…almost.
They didn’t count on crumbs getting buried in the carpet…or O!Ciel’s ice cream cone melting (the wildest fantasy I’ve created for this blog is a world where the McDonald’s ice cream machine works 🤪)…or Soma accidentally spilling a sauce pack..or one of Sebastian’s cats running off with the last chicken nugget. The young culprits are apprehended when their dads return home earlier than expected. Sebas flips his lid—they’ll clog their arteries with cholesterol! Think of the empty calories! Hasn’t he spent years teaching them about proper nutrition?!—but Agni, ever the sweetheart, tactfully intervenes. He points out that their sons eat healthy meals everyday at home, and a single McDonald’s order isn’t going to seriously undermine that. “There’s nothing wrong with them enjoying a treat once in a while, moonlight.” Whipped as he is for his husband, and faced with the kids’ sad puppydog eyes, Sebastian eventually cools down, although it’s a long time before he trusts the pair to their own devices again. 😂
They get to keep their Happy Meal toys, however. 😌

Your atla analysis is the best so I wanted to ask your opinion on something I've found the fandom fairly divided on - what did you think of Azula's ending within the show proper? Unnecessarily cruel or a necessary tragedy? Would you say that her mental breakdown was too conveniently brought about in order to 'nerf' her for the final agni kai? Also, do you think it was 'right' for Zuko to have fought with his sister at all or would it have been better for him to seek a more humane way to end the cycle of violence?
okay so im saying this as someone who loves azula to death like she has always been one of my absolute favorite characters ever since i was a kid and i’ve always vastly preferred her to zuko and found her to be extremely compelling and eminently sympathetic. i am saying this now before the azula stans come for me. i believe in their beliefs. but i also think her downfall is perfectly executed, and putting aside all the bullshit with the comics and whatever else, it’s a really powerful conclusion to her arc. obviously that isn’t to say that she wouldn’t continue to grow and develop in a postcanon scenario (i have a whole recovery arc for her mapped out in my head, like i do believe in her Healing Journey) but from a narrative perspective, her telos is in fact very thematically satisfying.
no, she wasn’t nerfed so that they could beat her in a fight. the fact that she falls apart is what makes them feel that they can confidently take her on (although i do think in a fair fight katara could win anyway), but the whole point is that it’s not about winning or losing in combat. the whole point is that zuko and azula being pitted against each other in this gratuitous ritual of violence as the culmination of their arcs is fundamentally tragic. yes it’s a bad decision to fight her, and zuko should have chosen another path, but the whole point is that he’s flawed and can only subscribe to the logic he has spent his whole life internalizing through violence and abuse.
that’s why aang’s fight against ozai, while tragic in its own way, is also a triumph for the way in which his ideals prevail in the face of genocide, while zuko and azula’s fight is very patently tragic. there is no moment of victory or triumph. even as zuko sacrifices himself in a beautiful mirroring of “the crossroads of destiny” and as katara uses the element of her people combined with techniques across other cultures to use azula’s hubris and ideology of domination against her, it’s presented as moments of personal growth occurring within a very tragic yet inevitable situation. it was inevitable because azula had always been positioned as an extension of her father, and thus to disempower ozai also means disempowering azula, his favorite site of projection, his favorite weapon.
yeah, it does rub me the wrong way when zuko asks katara whether she’d like to help him “put azula in her place.” it’s not a kind way to talk about your abused younger sister. but it’s also important to understand that zuko doesn’t really recognize his sister’s pain, despite the fact that they obviously share a father, because he’s always assumed that she was untouchable as their perfect golden child and thus never a victim. and he’s wrong. zuko and katara expect a battle of triumph and glory, noble heroes fighting valiantly so that good may prevail over evil. but as they discover here, even more so than their previous discovery two episodes prior, a battle is not a legendary event filled with bombast and beauty until after it has been historicized. often a war is simply fought between pathetic, desperate people who see no other option but to fight.
aang’s ultimate refusal to fight despite having all the power in the world is what makes him so important as the protagonist. but katara and zuko both share a more simplistic view of morality and what it means to be good. and zuko assumes that by fighting azula, he can only be punching up, because she has always been positioned as his superior, and she (in her own words!) is a “monster.” and then azula loses, and his entire worldview shatters. joking about putting her in her place makes way for the realization that behind all her posturing and lying (to herself more than anyone) and performance and cognitive dissonance, azula has always been broken, perhaps even more than he is.
azula says “im sorry it has to end this way, brother,” to which zuko replies “no you’re not.” but i think azula is truly sorry, because in her ideal world, she wouldn’t be fighting zuko. she doesn’t actually want to kill him, as much as she claims to. she’s already reached the conclusion that zuko will only truly reach once their fight is over. she lacks a support system, and she needs one, desperately. if she could somehow get her family back, do everything differently, less afraid of the consequences, she would. she’s smirking, she sounds almost facetious, but really, she is sorry. as of this moment, she really doesn’t want it to end this way. but zuko cannot accept that, because in his mind, azula is evil. azula has no soul nor feeling. azula always lies.
her breakdown doesn’t come out of nowhere, either. it’s precipitated by everyone she has ever cared about betraying her. first zuko betrays her, then mai, then ty lee, and then ozai — the person she has staked her entire identity to and to whom she has pledged her undying loyalty and obedience, become nothing more than a vessel for his whims — discards her because she had the audacity to care about someone other than him. what i don’t think zuko realizes, and perhaps will never realize, is that azula betrayed ozai by bringing zuko back home. he was not supposed to be brought back with honor and with glory. azula specifically orchestrated the fight in the catacombs to motivate him to join her, and it’s not because she’s some cruel sadistic monster who wanted to separate a poor innocent soft uwu bean from his loving uncle, it’s because she genuinely believes that she’s doing what’s best for him. she believes that their uncle is a traitor and a bad influence, and she believes that bringing zuko home with his honor “restored” is an act of love. to her it is.
yes, she claims that she was actually just manipulating him so that she wouldn’t have to take the fall if the avatar was actually alive, but also, she’s clearly just covering her own ass. she didn’t know about the spirit water, and only started improvising when zuko started showing hesitation. but even if she was only using zuko, then that was an insane risk to take, because either way she was lying directly to ozai’s face. and zuko admits it to ozai while simultaneously committing treason, so of course ozai would blame azula, his perfect golden child who tried to violate his decree by bringing zuko back home a prisoner at best and dead at worst, and instead found a way to restore his princehood with glory.
we only see ozai dismissing and discarding azula in the finale, but it’s clearly a tension that’s been bubbling since the day of black sun. and we know this because we do see azula falling apart before the finale. in “the boiling rock” she is betrayed by her only friends. in “the southern raiders” we see that this has taken a toll on her, that she is already somewhat unhinged. she and zuko tie in a one on one fight for the first time. and she takes down her hair as she uses her hairpin to secure herself against the edge of a cliff. unlike zuko, who is helped by his friends and allies, who has a support system. it’s a very precarious position; she’s literally on a cliff’s edge, alone, her hair down signifying her unraveling mental state. azula having her hair down signals to us an audience that she is in a position of vulnerability. she is able to mask this terrifying moment wherein she nearly plummets to her death with a triumphant smirk, but it should be evident to us all that her security is fragile here.
and the thing is, even though she’s always masked it with a smirk and perfect poise, her security has always been fragile. azula has never been safe. azula’s breakdown is simply the culmination of her realization that no matter how hard she tries, she will never be ozai’s perfect weapon, because she is a human being. she is a child, no less. and there is no one in her entire life who loves her for nothing. zuko has iroh, who affirms to him that he could never be angry with zuko, that all he wants is simply what is best for zuko. but azula doesn’t have unconditional support in her life. she doesn’t even have support.
everyone she ever thought she could trust has betrayed her, and so she yells that trust is for fools. because she feels like a fool. of course fear is the only way; it’s what kept her in line all these years. azula is someone who is ruled by fear, and who is broken by the recognition that fear isn’t enough. her downfall is necessarily tragic because her worldview is wrong. the imperialist logic of terror as a tool for domination is her own undoing, just as ozai’s undoing is losing the weapon he has staked his national identity to. it’s a battle of ideals. aang v ozai: pacifism v imperialism. katara and zuko v azula: love and support v fear and isolation.
zuko is unfair to azula, it’s true. he tries to fight her even as he can clearly recognize that “she’s slipping.” instead of trying to help his little sister, he uses that weakness to his advantage, tries to exploit her pain so that he can finally, for the first time ever, beat her in a fight. it’s cruel, but it’s also how siblings act. especially considering the conditions under which they were raised, and how zuko has always viewed her. and in zuko’s defense, she has tried to kill him multiple times lately, both in “the boiling rock” and in “the southern raiders.” zuko is someone who gets fixated on a goal and blocks out everything else, including recognition of his surroundings or empathy for others. so of course when he’s promised to put azula in her place he’s going to exploit her weaknesses to do so. after all, isn’t exploiting his weaknesses exactly what azula does best? so he allows himself to stoop to her level, and in fact only redeems himself through his sacrifice for katara. but it is when azula is chained to the grate and zuko and katara, leaning on each other, look down and observe the sheer extent on her pain, that zuko realizes that “putting azula in her place” isn’t actually a victory. it feels really, really bad, actually.
they’re in a similar position as they were when they faced yon rha. and now it is zuko’s turn to understand that he is not a storybook hero triumphing over evil, but rather a human being, facing another human being, in a conflict that is larger than themselves. to “put someone in their place” is to imply a logic of domination, of inherent superiority, that someone has stepped out of line and must be reordered neatly into the hierarchy. but aang disputes the notion, ozai’s notion, that humanity can be classified along these lines, that there exists an ontological superiority among some and not others. so operation: putting azula in her place was always going to be flawed, even if she was performing competency the way she always does, because they’re nonetheless subscribing to her logic.
of course they should be helping azula, of course they should be reaching out to abuse victims through support instead of more violence. but first they must recognize her victimhood. first they must come to understand that they didn’t get lucky, and they didn’t dominate her because they are more “powerful,” that they weren’t “putting her in her place.” they must understand that they are not heroes fighting villains in a glorious trial by combat. that the logic of the agni kai is flawed. that they are all victims. that they are all just scared, hurt children who are still grieving their mothers.

Okay I’m too tired to keep listening to Dark Heir but I’ve got a whole bus ride home so I’m going to spin Black Butler thoughts at you all.
(Idk how coherent this is, I’m sorry if it’s rambly my brain is SO dead but it wants to Talk so)
I’m thinking about… the gradual build of Sebastian’s fear that he could actually lose Ciel, as we go:
The asthma attack in Circus Arc: not ultimately serious, but a danger to Ciel’s wellbeing Sebastian had not been aware of and cannot easily fix
The fight on the Campania, where Sebastian is very seriously injured himself, to the point where he’s in danger of losing Ciel to Undertaker because he can’t physically stop him from being taken,
Which leads into THIS fucking moment in school arc:
Tumblr media
which is entirely fueled by Sebastian’s fear that Undertaker will snatch Ciel out from under him, AGAIN, because he did it before
AND THEN GREEN WITCH ARC HAPPENS, where Sebastian gets within literal minutes of losing Ciel to the gas, and WOULD HAVE if Sieglinde hadn’t been there or hadn’t been willing to help them
And still in Green Witch Arc, even AFTER Ciel has physically survived, Sebastian nearly loses him anyway because he backslides so dramatically into a PTSD episode that it nearly voids their contract
All of which is why by the time you get to the Blue Cult Arc, Sebastian is so genuinely afraid he might not be able to protect Ciel that the scent of blood from a single needle prick makes him do. This.
Tumblr media
And now, with bizarre dolls getting ever more advanced and better at hiding from Sebastian’s senses and the whole police force mobilized against them, I’m very ready for Sebastian in Brighton to be doing everything short of wrapping Ciel in 19th century bubble wrap. I’ll frankly be shocked if he lets Ciel out of his sight for more than five minutes.
But the thing is. The thing is. Narratively, there isn’t much further you can ratchet up the stakes for Sebastian (at least until you get to the moment of truth with the contract and eating his soul, which is a different conversation). Ciel being put in danger or hurt again isn’t going to do all that much to alter their relationship at this point. Sebastian is already about as whipped as the poor guy can get.
What would be a change, is Ciel nearly losing Sebastian.
There’s been—for obvious reasons—much less risk and fear on that front. There has been some build for it:
Red Butler Arc, encountering reapers, Ciel sees Sebastian fight an enemy who can actually hold their own against him for the first time (and while I don’t think this is confirmed, I suspect Grell’s chainsaw eating his shoulder is the first time Ciel sees him get injured for real (as opposed to allowing himself to get shot and playing dead just for the sake of being a dramatic bitch))
Curry Arc, Agni successfully fights Sebastian to a tie (which is why I’m VERY interested to see if Soma turns back up in the Brighton arc as well, feat. angry Kali powers)
[The murder arc is a fake out, because Ciel knows he’s fine the whole time]
On the Campania, Ciel sees him get very badly injured. This is the one and only time Ciel has real cause to fear for Sebastian’s safety, as such.
And since then, while Sebastian isn’t quite untouchable, he hasn’t really suffered any serious injury or physical danger to himself. There have been defeats or fights that didn’t end perfectly for him—such as the school arc fight—but Sebastian hasn’t been existentially threatened. Ciel, I think, still has pretty high confidence that worst case scenario, Sebastian can always just pick him up and make a run for it (indeed, part of the reason things got so bad on the Campania was because they were trapped on a boat). And even if Sebastian couldn’t save him, Ciel—to the extent it’s even occurred to him—doesn’t have a lot of reason to think he couldn’t save himself.
This is now the second time Ciel has lost everything—his title, his name, his home, his safety, his dignity and respect. The first time was worse, obviously, but he’s got to be feeling the similarities.
The first time, Sebastian pulled him out of his despair by offering him the power to escape.
Now, the second time, he at least still has Sebastian by his side. A Sebastian who is going to be laser-focused on protecting Ciel from all possible threats.
But what happens if Ciel thinks he might lose Sebastian too?

Salutations ! Hope you are doing well :) could I please request an Agni from black butler x reader? There’s hardly ANY and I just love the gentle giant so much! Could you do something with the cliche of Soma noticing the chemistry (or creating it lol) between Agni and reader and going out of his way to set them up or put them in situations? Thank you thank you
(A/N: I also love him, which is kind of iconic since in real life I do not wish to date a indian man, but if it's fictional indian man named Agni, I'm there to serve him till my last breathe)
Tumblr media
Holding a special place in your heart ♡
Tumblr media
❉How did you both end up like this? Oh right, Soma…He sent you both to saint Sindh Mukesh’s, the king’s dear philosopher, library and when you both entered the room, he pushed you both and locked the door. As you both sat on the floor, the only light source being a tiny window, very high up with a metal grid on it, the chances of it helping you escape were zero.
As the sun started to go down, Agni and you lit up the chimney in the library’s far end to make sure no book got burned. As you both sat on the floor, reading one or the other book of the library. Luckily there was compartment there with blankets, snacks, water and pillows; guess people have already been stuck here before……
As you looked over at Agni, you saw him zoned out writing or drawing something, you dropped your book and slowly leaned over him and saw him drawing flowers and hearts, around a beautiful, calligraphy, Hindi word, your name……
“वायें” he had written your name in Hindi, “Y/N” your name was decorated with many flowers, hearts and drawings. You knew Agni had a crush on you and he didn’t make it subtle either, always making you his most-important priority equal to Soma, always brought you your favorite flowers, made your favorite foods and took you to England with him and Soma and introduced you to his friends there, servants to Earl Phantomhive’s servants; Sebastian, the head butler and the other servants; Bardroy, the cook, Finnian, the gardener and Mey-rin, the only maid there. He also cooked you your favorite food, which every Indian person knows means that “I love you so much and wish to spend my entire life for you and so to show you that I made you your favorite food” just in action.
As you leaned more and tugged your head on Agni’s shoulder, he immediately jolted up, scaring you as well because he never got scared that easily, guess he was really zoned out……As you both calmed down, Agni put his right above yours and turned his head away to hide his flustered face, as you held his hand in yours gently and held it up to your face before kissing his knuckles and putting it back on your hand on top of your thigh, now he more blushing and flustered but he still shifted closer to you, he held your hand in larger one and tugged his on your shoulder as you again picked up your book and began reading soon you turned your head to look at him to see him sleeping on your shoulder…As you slowly laid him down on your lap and opened the folded blanket before covering Agni with it as you began reading yet again… . . As the sunlight from the tiny window hit Agni’s face, stirring him from his sleep, he felt the softness of the blanket, he slowly sat up, before finding a tiny bouquet of three lilies, five daffodils and seven jasmines right near his head, as he sat up, he couldn’t find you anywhere, only a blanket and a pillow where you were sitting. As he inspected the bouquet, he saw a metal key right in the middle of it with a rope tied to it, the rope had a short note stuck at the end of it, which read in beautiful Hindi…
"डार्लिंग, मेरे पास पहले से ही पुस्तकालय की चाबियां थीं, लेकिन तुम्हारे साथ अकेले रहना एक अवसर था जिसे मैं जाने नहीं दे सकताी थाी ~"
Just then he remembered that you were the head servants having the responsibility of entering and exiting the library whenever you wanted, but since he was so excited to be alone with you, he completely forgot about it, but at least you both were able to tell each other about your love….
Tumblr media
translation of the note~
"Darling, I already had the keys to the library, but being alone with you was an opportunity I couldn't let go~"
Also this is how you tell someone you love them in Indian style, cause our country is a bit conservative, at least this is how my mom tells me she told my dad she loves him!

I try not to engage with discourse, but I gotta say something about the discussion in Zutara circles on whether Zuko is "an awkward turtleduck" or confident and self-assured.
I'm sitting here like. Why not both. I love both. Both are good. And both are true.
He's awkward when he's feeling insecure and vulnerable, especially in the face of new or unexpected situations - which is why we see this attitude in Book 3 mostly (and notably, his date with Jin in Book 2). He's been humbled and he's been forced to question a lot of things; it makes sense he doesn't always find his footing. He also had an isolated upbringing so he will often be oblivious to social cues and won't always have the "right" reactions.
He's very self-assured and decisive when he knows what he's up to and knows what is right and what he's got to do. Book 3 Zuko also knows his own mind and is very determined in shaping his own fate. Final Agni Kai Zuko is not awkward. Southern Raiders Zuko is not awkward. The Zuko that confronted Ozai? Very much not awkward.
I think fan creators can take advantage of the possibilities for the same scenario (ie. a Zuko who's made up his mind to kiss Katara, vs. a Zuko who wants it but is unsure if she does) and every preference here is valid, but I'm a bit confused as to how the meta treats it as if it has to be one or the other.

It does bother me how big an emphasis there is on criticizing the live action atla adaptation for depicting Zuko fighting back in the agni kai. It's giving vibes of people needing Zuko to be a pure victim, when that misses the point of Ozai's manipulativeness.
It reminds me of a scene from the movie Good Will Hunting, in which the main character describes how his abusive father would put a belt and a wrench on the table and ask his son to choose. Will says he always chose the wrench "because fuck him, that's why."
Rather than comparing unfavorably to the original, my hope is that when people look at how the Netflix adaptation chose to depict a different version of the agni kai, they realize that there was actually no version of that scenario that didn't end in Zuko being burned, whether he fought back or not. Ozai wasn't giving him a choice so much as he was manipulating him into believing that he was responsible for his own abuse. And fuck him.

The fire nation's defeat was technically Azula's fault.
Zuko and Iroh were branded traitors and failures. Azula was given specific instructions to capture them, dead or alive. Azula had them both red-handed in Ba Sing Se. Instead of doing what she was told, she asks for Zuko's help and she clears his name in return.
Now, it could be argued that without Zuko's help, she would've been pummeled into submission by Aang and Azula. Well, then after his usefulness was used up, she had a chance to pull yet another fast one and apprehend him without having to lie to Ozai.
Zuko acted suspiciously. He made Azula doubt that Aang really died and she began to think that Zuko may have had something to do with his survival. Instead of searching for proof of Aang's survival and informing her suspicions to Ozai, she puts unnecessary risk on herself and sets up a gambit that was ultimately pointless in more ways than one.
If Azula did what she was supposed to do, Zuko and Iroh would be dead or put in prison which leads to Zuko never finding out about the plans with the comet, Aang never finds a firebending sifu, the FN gains victory unopposed, and Azula can reign as Fire Lord.
In short, by choosing to lend Zuko a hand more than once, she indirectly did Team Avatar a huge favor.
Boom: Butterfly Effect.
The FN's MVP was also Team Avatar's MVP. I do enjoy the irony.
I wonder though, what would the Gaang's, Azula's Zuko's, Iroh's, Ozai's, and all of FN's reactions when realizing this epiphany?
It would break Azula.
...no seriously. It would break her.
While I think it would be a bit of a stretch to say that the defeat of the Fire Nation was her fault (cause there's no way in hell she could've seen bringing Zuko home would end up with his betrayal of Ozai), I do think she was hurting already with Zuko betraying her. If she was torn up about Mai and Ty Lee turning on her, I have no doubt she'd feel the same about Zuko regardless of what her relationship with him is right now. Add on to the fact that this is a girl that is hoisted with way too much responsibility than she is able to handle (being driven to become perfect at any cost), a revelation like this would destroy her.
And the fallout wouldn't be pretty. At all. It would probably rival her breakdown at Sozin's Comet, if not be worse. Hell, I think Zuko and Iroh would be a bit concerned for her. Zuko did seem somewhat regretful at her state after the Last Agni Kai and Iroh (while not Azula's biggest fan) probably wouldn't be that callous to brush her off.
Ozai would hate her though. Hate hate HATE her though. He puts on so much pressure for her to be perfect. What do you think the abusive piece of shit is going to do when he puts two and two together. Might even disown her on the spot, which will cause her to spiral even more. And she'd probably lose a lot of support in the Fire Nation for indirectly letting an unpopular successor on the throne, which would cause her to spiral even further.
...kind of why I don't really want to put the blame on the Fire Nation's defeat on her since the poor kid doesn't need that on top of her failures already. Besides, I think the defeat of the Fire Nation can better be laid on Ozai's feet. I mean, he was the one who banished Zuko and mistreated both him and Azula. If we want to go indirect, he set up a domino effect. And directly, he wasn't able to consolidate the Fire Nation's gains at the end of the war which led to a huge rebellion movement. And he certainly didn't seem to want to get involved with fighting Aang during the Day of the Black Sun which could've stacked the odds further against him when the firebending was turned back on. Mind you, this was before Zuko showed up. Like he was sipping tea while Azula was holding the Gaang off.
That being said, I could see him pass the buck off on Azula for the Fire Nation's defeat. Which would lead into the scenario I just outlined above.

— SEBASTIAN (ft. chess)
Sebastian was perfect in everything; in cleaning, in cooking, in playing various instruments, in foreign languages, in gardening, even in singing and dancing. There was, however, one thing he couldn’t achieve fully well, and that was the game of chess.
Of course, he defeated others (I mean here; Grell, Agni, Bald or Finny) with ease, but when you offered him a game one day, his so far intact worldview changed dramatically. Eventually he found someone better than himself, but at the same time he felt so damn frustrated that he couldn’t win against your person. You were better than him, than Ciel, and even better than Mr. Tanaka, who was almost equal to him and the young lord.
“... Your move, Sebastian.” You announced by moving the bishop to the field of your choice, taking his black rook at the same time. “Are you going to give up, my love?” You smiled gently as you took a sip of delicious English tea with the perfect amount of sugar. The man looked at you in response, frowning and looking at the chess alignment after a short while.
“No. Everything is fine, I just need to think for a moment.” He said calmly, though his face expression seemed to hide the urge to swear. “I am impressed with how quickly you made such a confusing setup, darling.”
“Well, well. My grandpa taught me to play. As the saying goes, the student has surpassed the master.” You chuckled as you put your chin on your right hand while looking at the fingers of your man surrounded by white gloves, who decided to move the king to space F5. “Maybe someday you will surpass me, who knows?”
Sebastian stared at you out of the corner of his eye, nodding in delicate, almost invisible amusement.
“Maybe someday, dear. For now, I will give you the honorable title of the best chess player.”
Tumblr media
— UNDERTAKER (ft. drawing)
Drawing has been your passion since you remember and you loved to paint literally everything; still life, nature, huge landscapes, other people, animals, and even things that didn’t make much sense (Picasso was one of your biggest inspirations when it came to cubism). In addition, in your bag you always carried your favorite blue sketchbook in which you drew tiny thoughts or things you noticed while walking, working or drinking coffee in a cafe.
That day, however, you were sitting quietly on one of the chairs in the funeral parlor, and the Undertaker was also sitting nearby – he was writing names with concentration, calculating in his mind the number of deaths in the last month and year.
His calm face was really handsome from your perspective; the faint light of the lantern caressed his pale complexion, and his green eyes full of mischief stood out behind his fair hair. Every now and then you glanced at the tall man, then your eyes focused again on the small notebook whose pages were blank. I mean, they were not all empty; some of them had sketches of dogs on them, others sketches of flowers, and others featured the figure of a tall Grim Reaper.
When you finished your illustration, you smiled and nodded, satisfied with your work. A beautiful play of light, self-confident pencil strokes and small additions in the form of ivy and rosemary beautifully composed the whole black-grey picture of Adrian.
“Excause me, darling...?” You whispered hesitantly, not wanting to interrupt his work. Nevertheless, the man quickly looked in your direction and a wide smile appeared on his face.
“Yes, my little flower.” He asked, instantly standing up and forgetting about the paperwork – you were definitely more interesting than the dead, after all. You showed him your drawing with a slight blush on your face and he opened his mouth in slight shock. “It’s me?” You nodded, and the Grim Reaper just chuckled. “Am I really THAT handsome?” He joked and you just rolled your both eyes. A short time later, Undertaker praised your talent, asking if you’d like to hang some of your sketches on the board next to the entrance.

— JOSUKE (ft. playing drums)
More than five years ago, you and your three friends started a music band. Since then, you’ve been focused on making your dreams come true, on small concerts played in the Morioh, on school performances, also on learning notes and practicing singing. You were the drummer and leader of ‘CR△WL’; your vast musical knowledge, willingness to develop your passion and daily rehearsals aroused great admiration from the rest of the band and from people who watched your slowly growing career. Of course, Josuke was no exception, on the contrary – he considered himself your biggest and most faithful fan, who with the greatest pleasure went on dates with you to music shops or bookstores with records of old bands.
The young man was delighted every time you played the instrument – just like years ago in your garage when you first played ‘Paranoid’ by Black Sabbath for him. He was smitten and would come over to your house to listen to your covers or help you make a video for your YouTube channel (you were pretty popular for tutorials, trivia, and drum videos).
“...Y/N, Y/N. Would you be able to play this song?”
That day, Josuke visited your house once again. Your mom made you two some snacks, and you grinned as you practiced another song for an upcoming concert at one of the smaller festivals this summer. Your boyfriend seemed to be excited like never before, so you asked what is the title of mentioned song. Hearing the familiar words, you just smiled, nodding your head in response.
Instantly, your both hands and right foot began to beat the drums, which making the dark-haired teenager’s face look very surprised.
“Y/N... You really know every song on this planet!”
Tumblr media
— ROHAN (ft. rapping)
Karaoke, bowls full of ice cream and fruit, carbonated drinks, hot snacks and great company were what you’ve been missing for the last few weeks. Focused on studies and work, you didn’t have time to rest properly; but you finally met with your closest friends and you also took Rohan with you.
You had a great time gossip with besties who talked about changes in their lives and new achievements, for example, at work. You were telling about your experiences as well with a huge smile, while Rohan was sitting right next to you, talking to some people from time to time. He wasn’t interested in large gatherings, but he couldn’t say ‘No’ to you either because you were too sweet that evening.
Suddenly, one of Cardi B’s songs was played in the background and you almost squealed.
“Ooooh, I see that someone want to sing, huh?” The blonde haired girl asked, and you just laughed, thanking her for the black microphone.
Rohan almost spit at his new shirt as soon as you started rapping the verses without any problems, without even looking at the screen where the lyrics were displayed. You had a great time dancing a bit in the middle of the small room. You looked at your partner with a smirk, sometimes sending a kiss or wink in his direction. You were literally in your world; you showing your energy and love for music so perfectly.
Rohan was really surprised.

Hii i love your work <3 is it ok to request and angst one where reader is a spy but grows to like the team. khun ask her out and she likes khun(who doesnt lol) soo umm when she want to talk to khun about it. Khun confronts her first and like said he only dated her to keep closer watch on her yee thanks in advance if you do it but feel free to reject
thanks anon, it means a lot!! here goes the scenario
-
If anyone entered the Tower thinking the floor challenges would be their gravest foe, they were quick to be proven wrong. Enemies could be found not only in monsters attempting to prevent you from climbing but more frequently in other people fighting them by your side.
Khun himself believed that to trust the likes of him would be to show immense naivety. Maintaining a stable team through the grotesque trials wasn’t a simple task. You always had to account for the risk that some of your comrades might die, which would require significant strategical alternations. Such circumstances resulted in Khun sleeping with one eye open, no matter how reliable a new potential teammate seemed.
His attitude didn’t change when you joined in on the journey. Even though at first glance nothing appeared off, it wasn’t enough for Khun. His internal alarm was ready to combust at any minute, no matter how minuscule the red flag would be. He needed an opportunity to create a situation with only the two of you around.
A smirk crossed his pale lips. Being fully aware of the liking you took to him, he activated his Pocket to text you. “Meet me in the west hallway in five minutes.”
After all, a Khun was a cunning creature.
You didn’t even blink when he asked you out on a date, concentrating too hard on structuring a coherent sentence without sounding like a dehydrated animal that finally managed to quench its thirst. Truthfully, there weren’t many places where the two of you could go. Opting for a simple dinner, you had gone out before the rest of your team noticed.
The more time you spent amongst your new companions, the fonder you grew of the group. At times when Shibisu cracked an extraordinarily lame joke, Hatz picked another fight with Khun, and Bam desperately tried to get Endorsi off him, you felt nothing short of genuine affection. It was hard to keep in mind that your job was to spy on those people and stab them in the back after gathering enough information.
“You’ve barely touched your food,” Khun remarked. “Are you not hungry?”
There were the other teammates that you liked.
And there was Khun.
Khun with his piercing cobalt eyes, unblemished skin, and vicious smile.
Khun with his brilliant mind, sly remarks, and deceitful nature.
“Sorry, I’ve just zoned out,” you apologized with a sheepish smile and took a quick bite. “It’s really tasty.”
Khun raised his eyebrows as the corners of his mouth curled in amusement.
“I’m glad.”
Surprisingly or not, your meetings didn’t end after one date. Every once in a while, whenever the already tight schedule allowed, you and Khun went out. It allowed you to grow closer and satisfy the need for closeness that consumed you on the prolonged lonesome journey consisting of climbing the Tower. With each date it became harder to bottle up your feelings, and with each innocent forehead kiss your conscience kept berating you for catching feelings for someone you shouldn’t love.
After a particularly gruesome floor test, you made up your mind. You needed to come clean to Khun about your feelings, whether he accepted them or not. Taking a deep breath to steady yourself, you approached the entrance to his room. Just when you were about to knock, the door opened, followed by Khun barely stopping himself from bumping straight into you.
“You caught me off guard. Do you need anything?” he asked and leaned on the doorframe, his eyes narrowing as if he was analyzing every fiber of your being.
You gulped nervously and looked around. The hallway was empty.
“Actually, yes. I wanted to talk to you in private,” you replied. “Can I come in?”
He moved wordlessly to let you enter the room, his gaze never leaving your frame. It felt different than your usual meetings. The man in front of you was colder than the Khun you knew.
“Khun, I-”
“Before you start, I’d like to ask you a question,” he interrupted.
Your stomach turned in distress as you couldn’t muster anything but a nod out of yourself. Khun paused for a while, a smirk decorating his face as an expression of dry entertainment.
“What kind of information are you after?”
Your heart sank.
“I’ve been looking into your background for quite a while now. I know who you are and whom you work for. The only missing piece is the aim of your actions. Care to enlighten me?” Khun asked, mindlessly playing with a strand of his hair at the same time.
In that second his mask shattered, revealing that the man you came to adore never existed.
“If you knew I came here to spy on you, why bother with all that playing pretend? You could have ratted me out to others a long time ago.” The original purpose of your visit was long forgotten, letting the survival instinct kick in. People in the Tower were killed for less than spying.
“I needed to keep an eye on you and establish if you posed a danger. It’s nothing personal.”
It was hard to breathe, think, and move. You lost in your own game. At a time like this, your brain refused to function properly. If you didn’t die there, coming back wouldn’t grant any safety. No one had any business in keeping alive a spy that failed their mission. In a bitter realization, you recalled a warning that everyone in the Tower had heard plenty of times, the one you never took seriously.
Never trust a Khun.

A retelling of the end of Zuko and Azula’s Agni Kai because we were ROBBED [Zutara]
”Zuko!” Katara yells, but another blast of lighting is hit close to him, separating the two.
Zuko tries to focus on the fight occurring in front of him, but the pain in his chest is beyond anything of what he expected. It’s excruciating, who knew Azula’s bending could be this painful. He had encountered firebender after firebender when fighting, but Azula was beyond them. Or maybe this just hurt more because she was his sister.
Zuko groans and reaches his arm out, trying to get up and fight as much as possible. But everything hurts. His body feels frozen and he can feel his heartbeat cry.
”You don’t look so good Zuzu,” Azula yells, he’s not quite sure from where. His eyes keep on closing without his permission and his body keeps on aching with every breath he takes, but he knows that if he lets his consciousness go, he may never get it back. So while Katara fights Azula, he’ll fight himself, and they’ll both win.
The sounds of water and lighting fill Zuko’s ears, and he tries to imagine what is occurring in his head.
He hears Azula say something else, this time, it sounds a lot more like a mumble in his ringing ears.
Then, silence. Zuko worries over what’s happened. It’s too quiet. A thousand thoughts flood his head at once and they all end with one of them dead.
Zuko winces, this time, he’s not entirely sure if it’s from the pain or the scenarios coursing through his head.
Almost as soon as it started, however, the silence ends, and the splashing of water can be heard not far from Zuko. This time, the sounds are all too loud, he can hear the clinking of chains against each other as someone is tied, and Zuko prays it’s Azula.
He hears Azula grunt in frustration and he knows Katara has won. He lets out a small sign before unwillingly redirecting his attention to the pain he can feel everywhere.
Katara comes over to him and flips him to his side, taking out leftover water and bending it to fit around her hand shape. She lightly presses her hands against Zuko’s wound on his chest and lets it heal.
Initially, he hates the feeling of pressure on his fresh wound, but it quickly fades as he is relieved of any and all pain. Zuko opens his eyes and looks over to Katara.
”Thank you, Katara,” he rasps out.
she smiles and tears tug at her eyes, “I think I’m the one who should be thanking you… We did it” she replies, letting the tears from her eyes finally fall.
Zuko looks at her and the tears streaming down her face.
”Are you okay?” He asks, taking into account her physicality. It doesn’t look like she has any wounds.
Katara tilts her head, still lightly crying. “What do you mean?”
”You’re crying,” he obviously points out.
”Yeah, tears of happiness,” she laughs out.
Zuko looks over to Azula, whose hands and mouth are iced as to avoid attacking any further. He looks back over to Katara who looks equally as confused as he feels over the concept of tears of happiness.
”You… Cry when you’re happy?” Zuko finally clarifies.
”Yes,” Katara quickly answers.
he tilts his head as Katara did earlier, still not grasping the idea.
”You’re doing it too,” Katara finally points out.
Zuko widens his eyes and brings a hand up to touch the bags under his eyes which are indeed wet. “That might be moreso from being shot with lighting than joy, if anything. Are you sure you’re okay?” Zuko checks Katara’s arms and analyzes her face.
”Zuko, I never thought I’d say this, but you have a lot to learn about being happy.” Katara lightly jabs at him.
Zuko lets out an “mmm” of acknowledgement, still not completely sure if Katara is okay, but allowing her to win the conversation.
Katara takes Zuko’s arm and allows his to lay his weight on her as they begin to leave.
”And for the record,” Zuko finally continues, “you’re a pretty crier.”
Zuko is just able to catch a glimpse of Katara’s face heat up before she turns her head the other way.
”You’re so awkward,” she says, flushing.
”It was a compliment!” He argues.
And Katara laughs. A nice, light laugh that almost makes Zuko forget everything that happened.
This time, it’s his turn to turn away his blush.
