Please share your thoughts on the other 5 cutie marks, I'd love to hear!

Hi everypony! I got like 20 asks for the Dogwarts cutie mark lore so I'm here to speak my truth!

Before we start, I would like to write a quick reminder that a pony's cutie mark is not always their "special talent", but can also represent who they are, their personalities, and a possible destiny. Different cutie marks have different meanings and interpretations, but they're not just about representing what you're good at.

That being said, let's start with the cutie mark design I'm proudest of!

Ren's Cutie Mark

Ren's cutie mark is of a sunrise and looks pretty simple at first glance but there was a lot of thought that went into this one.

First of all, I bet you're wondering why a sunrise? Well, in the show, it is pretty typical for unicorns with great magical abilities to have one relating to space (examples being Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, and Sunburst). And I figured since I wanted Ren to fall into a similar position of potentially becoming an alicorn, I gave him a cutie mark following the same trend. And I chose a sunrise to reflect the way Ren seems to glow when he enters a room. The way he carries himself is very warm and bright it just catches your eye in a similar way the sun would.

Also, Ren wears sunglasses. So a sun-themed cutie mark seemed appropriate.

Additionally, there are a couple of smaller details I want to point out too. Like the sun rays, if you look at them for a moment you'll see they're shaped like little crowns! I of course had to put a crown in thanks to how much Ren likes to play royalty, so I snuck it in there. And then the red spots underneath could both be interpreted as the sun reflected over water or blood. (But of course, this is a kid show AU so there wouldn't be any blood in Ren's destiny, just a fun reference to the red king and his whole thing about blood dyeing the snow red)

Martyn's Cutie Mark

I explained this one in an earlier ask but I thought I'd explain it again here for anyone who didn't see it!

Martyn's cutie mark is of a chopped log and a small stick.

This one is mostly a play on the name "Littlewood" but has other meanings too. As a character, Martyn tends to travel and explore quite a bit. In the Life Series specifically, he is usually the last one to find a permanent base and even then doesn't spend a lot of time in one place. Always on the move. Additionally, he's more of a wild card compared to other characters, always trying to be as unpredictable as possible.

The smaller detail here is the little swirl on top of the log is the same as the one on his Minecraft skin's shirt.

BigB's Cutie Mark

Cookies! Cookies! Cookies! BigB's cutie mark is of 3 cookies where one is trying to eat the others. There are also a few sprinkles there made to look like action lines.

We all know BigB loves cookies so of course I had to give him a cutie mark with cookies in it. For this one, I decided to follow the cutie mark trend of "symbol/item important to the pony duplicated 3 times" (examples being Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie) but I added a bit more creativity to it with the top on trying to eat the others to represent just how tasty they are 😋

Additionally, rather than the first cookie trying to eat the others, you could interpret it as opening its mouth to talk. Because BigB can not keep a secret to save his life! In Double Life when he started "secret soulmates" with Grian, he didn't last a day without opening his mouth. He told Ren about it immediately because he felt bad for keeping things from him.

Also worth quickly mentioning: People pointed out in my original post that they don't think BigB would be the element of honesty because of his behaviour in Secret Life. But that's just Secret Life. I think Secret Life to BigB was like that episode of My Little Pony where Discord makes the main 6 act the opposite of their true element. BigB was just going through a weird phase of telling very obvious lies because a book told him to.

Skizz's Cutie Mark

Skizz's cutie mark is of a lightning bolt from a couple storm clouds hitting the ground.

I think this is the cutie mark with the least thought put into it, unfortunately. There was still though just not as much as the others. The big thing I thought was fun was I made the lightning bolt shaped like an "S" to stand for Skizzleman. But other than that, this cutie mark sort of has the same meaning as Rainbow Dash's cutie mark. Quick like lightning, loud, bold, dangerous, and powerful.

Impulse's Cutie Mark

Impulse's cutie mark is of a lit-up lightbulb.

I absolutely crowded this cutie mark with the letter i. If you look closely, there are 6 of them. Impulse's design also has an i-shaped pattern on the belly if you look closely enough. But that's more of a fun easter egg and doesn't exactly reflect Impulse as a character.

There are a couple of reasons I chose a lightbulb for Impulse, the first and probably most obvious is that he's a redstone guy! He's a technical guy who likes to work smarter, not harder. So I figured the My Little Pony equivalent would be a light bulb/electricity. The second reason for the lightbulb is that it's usually used as a visual representation when characters have that "eureka!" moment in cartoons. When someone has a brilliant idea a little lightbulb turns on above their head. So since Impulse is the ideas guy, I figured a lightbulb would work for his cutie mark.

Etho's Cutie Mark

Etho's cutie mark is of a snowflake with a missing branch.

I promise there is more to this cutie mark than just "Canada is cold" even if that's part of the reason I wanted to give him a winter-themed cutie mark. While it is fun to make a nod to Etho being Canadian, I thought a winter-themed cutie mark would be fun to represent how he sometimes presents himself. Cold and a bit mysterious. I think deep down once you get to know him, those attributes melt away, but for people who have never met him, he may be intimidating that way.

I'll be honest, I don't watch a lot of Etho content, but I do have a few friends who identify as Etho girlies so I did my research. I was told in his Minecraft Let's Play World, that he has a snowflake build somewhere. I believe they said it was an iron golem farm? (Please correct me if I'm wrong) but I thought that was perfect for the cutie mark. And if you're wondering why there's a branch missing, it's because one of my friends said he was incapable of finishing builds sometimes so I thought that would be fun to include.

Shirecorn's Ponyverse Masterpost

So for the last 2 months I've fixated on doing redesigns based somewhat loosely on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I've had so much fun filling in the gaps and extrapolating until my version is less of a redesign and more of an AU.

Part Fourteen

"Give me the syringe, Sweetiebelle." Twilight said, standing in the cell where they were holding Rainbow Dash. Their efforts on researching this cure were working at least *somewhat*, since Rainbow was still on stage one of the infection. Able to fully communicate. Comprehend. Move. See.

Sweetie nodded and handed the alicorn the syringe full of bright green liquid. Twilight used her magic to bring it closer to her, and injected it into Rainbow Dash's neck, earning a soft grunt from the pegasus.

"How are the others holding up?" Rainbow asked in a hoarse voice.

Twilight's expression fell. "We just lost Rarity... And found out that the infected are feeding off of magic. Any unicorn with strong magic is in danger. We have to use it as liberally as possible, they can probably sense when it's being used."

Rainbow sighed, laying on the cell's cot. "It seems... hopeless. They're going to wipe out all of our chances of protection and finding a cure... just so they can finish us off."

"Don't be so pessimistic. I'm sure we'll be okay." Twilight said calmly, before hearing a thud from upstairs. A heavy sound, like hooves kicking into a door.

silly little wip for another chapter of the poly mane 6 bc its cute and i want ppl to see it even tho its not done :3c

Snow had piled up all around Ponyville, caking on rooftops and crunching underhoof. Foals were bounding around, giggling and tossing snowballs at one another. Twilight sighed, using her magic to pull her coat closer around her. She loved the snow, she really did, but she had never quite adapted to the chill of winter in Ponyville. Spike ran ahead of her, beaming with delight. Twilight had never longed to be a dragon so badly. If she had the inner flame of a dragon, maybe she wouldn't have to worry so much about the cold. She followed slowly behind Spike, wincing at the chill that surrounded her hooves.

"HIIIII TWILIGHT!" exclaimed a familiar voice.

Pinkie Pie grinned as she bounced over, grinning at Twilight. The earth pony's fluffy pink fur was especially puffy; Pinkie's winter coat was always well suited for the colder months.

"Hello, Pinkie." Twilight tried to smile. "I take it you're enjoying the snow?"

"Yuh-huh! It's super-duper fluffy this year!" Pinkie replied. "Just like me!!"

Twilight couldn't help but chuckle as Pinkie trotted circles around her.

"Everypony else is over at Sugarcube Corner; I just made some yummy hot chocolate! Wanna join?"

The princess nodded, feeling a sense of relief at the thought of a nice, warm drink. Pinkie turned and led Twilight through the town. They passed a group of foals tossing snowballs at each other, and Twilight instinctively raised one of her wings to protect herself. Only one or two snowballs were tossed in their direction, and thankfully none hit Twilight.

"Hi, Princess Twilight!" called a voice from the group. A small filly was waving to her, peeking up from behind her friends. A chorus of more "Hi, Princess Twilight"s followed, and the alicorn smiled warmly. She waved back as she and Pinkie passed by.

Despite the uncomfortable chill in the air, Twilight had to admit that the snow was pretty. It was heartwarming to see everypony in such good spirits, and by the time Winter Wrap-Up season rolled around, it would be increased tenfold. This season was always so… nostalgic, in a way. It reminded Twilight of her initial years in Ponyville, long before she had gained the status of princess. Some things really never changed, she supposed.

Sugarcube Corner's roof came into view, though it was almost indistinguishable from the other rooftops because of the snow. Pinkie picked up speed, and Twilight had to break into a trot to keep up. It was no issue; the sooner she got to the warmth of the bakery, the better. Pinkie opened the door for her, and Twilight found herself relaxing as she walked inside.

"Yo, Twi!" Rainbow Dash chirped as she trotted over. "I knew you'd show up! Apple owes me 30 bits now."

The pegasus laughed as she nosed happily against Twilight's cheek in greeting. Twilight sighed, raising a brow as she returned the gesture.

"You two made a bet on if I would show up or not…?"

Rainbow grinned. "Uh, yeah. You always stay all holed up in your castle during winter; I know it's cold and all, but seriously! It's not gonna kill you to come out and enjoy the snow!"

"Well, sorry, my fur isn't exactly made for this type of weather," Twilight retorted with a sigh. "And I don't spend all day in the sky like you, Rainbow."

"You literally have three marefriends with the coziest fur ever. Just ask Pinkie, Apple, or Flutters to hang out!"

Twilight couldn't help but laugh softly at the suggestion. As if to punctuate Rainbow's statement, Pinkie walked over and snuggled against Twilight's side. They walked to the table, and Twilight took a seat between Rarity and Rainbow Dash. Pinkie bounced away to prepare her a mug of cocoa.

"Hey there, sugarcube," Applejack smiled. "Glad you could make it."

Rainbow snorted. "You shouldn't be," she joked. "She's the reason you lost our bet."

"Just 'cuz I lost a bet doesn't mean I ain't happy to see her," Apple replied.

"Fair enough," Rainbow shrugged. She leaned against Twilight, resting her head on the alicorn's shoulder.

Rarity sipped her hot cocoa and sighed. "Anyway, how have you been, darling? Do you need me to make you a new coat?"

"No, thank you," Twilight replied. "I'm alright. I guess I've just never gotten used to the cold."

- That was the last thing she was expecting to hear from Pinkie Pie.

- “You… think I have a crush, Pinkie?”

- “Yeah! You clearly like that pony, you should totally ask to hang out more!”

- There’s no doubt Twilight asks her other friends about you.

- She wants to know everything she can.

- Rarity is helping her friend with styles she feels you’ll like.

- Applejack is recommending Twilight give you something baked.

- Rainbow Dash is trying to tell Twilight to be calm and cool around you.

- It doesn’t help Twilight always feels tense around you with this new knowledge.

- The unicorn/alicorn even hits the books to learn how to win a pony’s heart.

- “This so new… I need to make everything perfect!”

- Upon finding out what her feelings mean, she obsessively does research.

- Which, admittedly, may include following you around….

- It stresses Twilight out with how much she needs to remember.

- Twilight even takes notes in her home to keep in mind what she learned.

- To understand more about her new obsession, she is sure to plan out times to meet you.

- She's often hunting you out and begging you to hang out with her.

- You're nice so you always agree.

- But if you were busy, Twilight will find a way to still hang out with you.

- “I thought we could do something today, just the two of us! If you’re busy then I could always help out. You’d let me join you, right?”

- Twilight is delusional to the point she thinks taking all these precautions are normal.

- What she feels towards you must be normal.

- The urge to be around you all the time is normal.

- The feeling of jealousy when she sees others around you is normal.

- That must mean the urge to lock you up and make you adore her is normal too, right!?

- “What I feel is normal…. I’m just in love like everypony says.”

- If you notice Twilight��s advances or don’t reciprocate her feelings, she panics.

- Normally, that should be fine.

- Rejection happens to everypony.

- But not to Twilight.

- You’re her everything.

- This leads to her using magic to pursue her desires.

- The others don’t notice at first, but there’s something off about you now.

- Twilight plays it off like she confessed to you and you reciprocated.

- While what actually happened was she used a love spell on you.

- She lures you into her home and is sure to lock the door.

- So if the love spell wears off… stockholm syndrome will do the trick.

- She is sure she plans everything.

- You’ll have no chance at escape and she can use her magic to make it appear your relationship is mutual.

- All until it can occur naturally…

- Just so she can finally have her obsession give into her madness.

- “Dear, Princess Celestia. I learned a very important lesson in love today. Me and (Y/N) are now a couple! I can’t wait to see how our relationship improves as we move forward. Sincerely, your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.”

Applejack is probably Italian because the Apples were pilgrims. And Italy's one of the world's top apple exporter.

Rarity's surname, 'Belle' implies that her parents might have some French blood.

I imagine human Pinkie Pie to look like Brave's Merida, wild curls and all. And Luna Lovegood is a more subdued Pinkie Pie in another life.

Twilight was always a Slytherin to me, because she's the only one of her friends willing to play and use underhanded tricks to win. The way she handled Trixie and the alicorn amulet? The way Twilight tried to steal Queen Novo's pearl? Twilight is ambitious, resourceful, and cunning, but she also over-worries. A Gryffindor wouldn't be worried about nothing, similarly, a Ravenclaw would be too confident to worry. Only a Slytherin would have a dramatic breakdown the scale of Draco-crying-in-bathroom. Cue Twilight's overdue friendship lesson episode, among Twilight's many self-involved breakdowns.

Rainbow Dash is probably Asian, the type that successfully got away from her overbearing parents, and achieving her dreams all by herself.

Everyone (except RD, RB, AJ) thought it was going to be RariJack, but Twilight's never wrong- she knew it was AppleDash endgame purely because she knew Rarity would bow out.

Applejack could be a hundred years old and Twilight would still bother to ask for her brutally honest advice.

An AU where the Mean six aren't killed by the Tree of Harmony, but instead given a second chance at life. Their own beings now, they can create their own destinies. They still however look a lot like the main six.

Optional additions-

do to how they were born they are somewhat physically related to the main six they were cloned from, and magically related to Chrysalis. They are technically not fully ponies biologically, being created from logs, magic, and dna samples.

The tree of harmony altered the magic used by Chrysalis slightly. To let the mean six no longer have to take orders from Chrysalis and be their own separate beings. They no longer have cutie marks as a result, needing to find their own destinies. Twilight's clone is not a true alicorn, but a mortal pony who merely looks like one by birth. Which happens more often than you'd think. The confusion for most is her similar appearance to the princess Twilight Sparkle.

Apple Jacks clone was adopted by the apple family. How can they abandon a new apple after all? Why do you think they should shun her for her strange circumstances, she didn't ask to be created! She still has a habit of lying, and is a cutie mark Crusader after Apple Bloom and her friends insistence.

Most of the mean six have changed their appearance to look as different as possible from the main six. Most of them. Rarity's clone likes the attention of looking like the element of generosity and seamstress who is increasingly growing in popularity.

I loved seeking others redesigns for the mane 6 so I had to make my own!

I have some info for them all if you guys are interested!

Twilight Sparkle: a born alicorn and the next in line for the throne. She was constantly by Celestals side after being adopted. Her parents are unknown. For the first time Twilight was sent to ponytown to solve a riddle the princess made. She needed help and was stubborn to ask it. But it was required. Making her make friends and learn how they lived. Over time she fulfilled quests and mysteries that always found was to her, she was given the role as Princess of friendship!

Rarity: she's a fashion designer unicorn that loves to make everything sparkle! She was bullied for her body as a fully but it did nothing. Rarity knew from the start she was perfect and never listened. She still has her demons to deal with but she deals with them by collecting expensive jewelry.

Fluttershy: a shy and tall pegasus. Making it pretty difficult to fly for too long. Fluttershy found it hard to make friends. But she always seemed to do best around animals and nature. Her voice can soothe any beast and is the best veterinary in town.

Pinkammena Diane pie: also known as Pinkie Pie, is a small earthpony with a heart of gold. She always has a way to make everyone smile. Being from an abusive family she was later diagnosed with bipolar. Making her sometimes severally angry and reactive. But she try to control it. She has small twitches that indicate when she's not stable and will leave to calm down.

Crash "Rainbow Dash": always laughed for being clumsy and breaking stuff, Dash changed his name to avoid the name callings. Rainbow Dash is also trans is wants to the toughest guy in town. But still falls for some girly stuff. His parents are iffy with the transition but they will always love their child.

Applejack: the strongest of the apple family and the first transgender in the bloodline. She always felt like a lady yet lived like a boy. She asked her parents about such and they were by her side to help her feel better. She's taller than most ponies but she's a gentle giant. Her farm is always in bloom with her amazing ability to work with nature.

Bride of Discord Chap. 2:

The Gala

The Grand Galloping Gala was arriving in seven moons, and Twilight had called all her friends to help with the preparations. It was an event the group of friends looked forward to most, as planning a party had been how they met, and served as an effective reminder how they were practically meant to be.

The four approached the palace gate, pearlescent gold swirled overhead, enveloped by lavender marble slabs. Beyond the gate, the sturdy granite and basalt. Inside surely held strong oak or teak. It looked like a pinnacle of wealth. As the gates was opened, by willing guards, Instead of Twilight they were greeted by her brother.

"ladies," Shining Armor said. "We're so glad you could make it! Twilie and the others are already having dinner. They asked me to escort you."

Applejack sighed in relief. "Thank goodness! I'm starved!"

Pinkie Pie bounced down the hallway. "Dinner with the princesses! That's the type of thing nopony else could possibly dream of!"

"You love having dinner with any pony, darling," Rarity chuckled breathlessly.

"food's a love language! And I'm Trot Jones!"

The group laughed, Applejack grabbing onto rarity's withers for support, rainbow dash running off as the laughed, Fluttershy coving her face, and letting off silly girlish snorts.

In the dining hall, Celestia sat at the head of the table, Twilight and Spike on her right, Luna and Cadence on her left. When she saw her friends, the purple alicorn forgot her manners for a moment, leaping out of her seat and attacking them with a hug.

"I'm so happy you guys made it!" she exclaimed. "I haven't seen you in so long, I was doodling your cutie marks on my notes!'

"We're more than grateful to be here with y'all!" Applejack declared. "Now hows 'bout we chow down?!"

As they ate like starved timberwolves, the friends caught up with one another. Twilight told them about the new spells she had learned, Rarity talked about the dresses she had in mind for the Gala, Applejack asked if the event could be painted professionally for the hospital patients, and Pinkie ranted lovingly about the other cultures she'd learned from . Fluttershy politely listened to the conversations, a bit nervous about being in the presence of royalty, but happy to infodump when animals were brought up, especially when it was an animal from another era. Then Shining Armor and Cadence tapped on their crystal glass and announced something extraordinary.

"Shall I tell them? I can't keep it in any longer!" the alicorn asked her husband.

"I think you have the right," he replied with a wink.

She smiled at all of them. Her teeth were glassy white, albeit slightly crooked. It was endearing, especially so after cadence announced: "We're having a baby!"

Every pony gasped. Except for Luna, who'd seen cadence's dreams, watching afar as she dreamt of fish, waking the next morning as a mother.

"Wait a second!" Pinkie cried. Then she took a sip of water and spat it out. "You mean to say you're having a bouncing, giggling, grabby, chunky, silly little FOAL???!" she twitched slightly in excitement.

Cadence laughed. "Of course, Pinkie."

Twilight flapped her hooves as her jaw hung open "I'm going to be an auntie! To a BABY!"

"That would explain your glow, why you're positively radiant! When are you due?" Rarity asked, astonished.

"Ten months," answered Shining Armor.

"How wonderful!" Fluttershy complimented. She wondered who the baby would look like more, based on their genes.

"This calls for a toast!" Celestia announced. She lifted her goblet, lined with rubies. "Here goes to the child of princess Cadence and sir Shining Armor, may their legacy live on through their deeds!

The others lifted their goblets and cheered in agreement.

Luna's mane of midnight ink and twinkling stars adorning the smoky Prussian blue gave way to reveal her almond eyes. Framing her soft and enticing face, sharp in it's regality. Her eyelids drooped alluringly. She brought up her hoof and whispered to her sister.

"hehe, their deed brought a new legacy alright-"

"Luna! You MANIAC!" Celestia whispered, her voice cracked. They giggled, and laughed louder each time they looked at each other. Spike only squinted and pouted.

"Wait," Spike paused. "I'm not gonna be the one to change its diaper, am I?"

Everypony laughed as spike shrugged. He would not be getting an answer. Fluttershy only smiled softly. She was truly happy for the young couple, but for some reason, that happiness could not be reflected through her face. Applejack noticed Fluttershy's depression and stopped laughing slowly. Her friend had been this way for quite a while now. While she engaged in social activities as much as possible, she never seemed to take pleasure in them, instead seeming rather depressed as she walked out the door. It bothered the cowpoke and she was determined to find out what was going on.

The next day, preparations for the Grand Galloping Gala began. Pinkie Pie brought her party cannon into the ballroom and fired balloons and confetti all over the place. In a comedic manner it all fell perfectly into place.bPrincess Celestia was sure the Gala was going to be less boring this year. Less upright. Rarity called the girls in one by one to take measurements and ask their opinion on their dresses, though they knew to trust the unicorn's vision and to not make too many suggestions.

After gathering foodstuffs and baking supplies from the market, Applejack decided to take a stroll in the garden. She would not have to make the food until the day before the event, so she had some time to herself. Of course, knowing herself, she'd likely get onto her duties hours before she was supposed to, simply for pure amusement. She followed a melodic sound and encountered Fluttershy conducting her bird chorus. She stopped them in the middle of a song.

"No dearie, it's more like…" she sang a few notes in that sweet voice of hers. "Understand?"

"Howdy, Fluttershy!" Applejack said in a voice loud enough to startle the birds. The pony beamed apologetically. "Oops, sorry Fluttershy, I'll call them back."

The pegasus sighed and gave a small smile. Her features lifted and the smile line on her face became more defined. "It's okay. We were about to take a break anyway."

Applejack studied her face carefully. "Is somethin' wrong, Sugar Cube?"

"What? Oh no, nothing is wrong."

She wasn't convinced by her tone. "Fluttershy, I'm gon' be honest with you. You seem down in the dumps as of late. You know I can't remember the last time I seen you smile? I mean really smile, like you meant it?"

Fluttershy paused and turned away. "It's nothing, really. It's not stopping me from anything."

Applejack took a deep breath. "It's those nightmares, ain't it? You're still havin' them, aren't ya?"

The pegasus floated to the ground and hid her face, unsure. Her friend put an assuring hoof on her back.

"Sugar Cube," she said slowly, "it's been three years. Discord's long gone. You got nothin' to fear anymore. You gotta let it go."

She sniffed. "I know, but the nightmares just won't go away, even when I'm not asleep! It's like everywhere I turn, he's there, watching, waiting to…to…I don't know! Take me away or something! I just…I can't…"

Tears began to prickle her eyelashes. Applejack stroked her mane in comfort. It was soft, excepting the sticks and marigolds peppered inside. Rainbow dash loved braiding flowers into her mane, but taking it out was hard without a stick, which broke In her thick mane.

"Hey, it's okay. Discord's not comin' back and he certainly ain't gonna take us away. If he did, you'd be able to kick his butt! It just ain't gonna happen. Come git some hot cider if you're feelin anxious, okay sugar?"

Beyond the castle gold and the groves of daisies, past the vines of thorn and trees with spikes in place of branches in a cave far away, their old enemy was watching the scene in a mirror. He could not help but laugh in a gravely manner.

"It's just too amusing!" he exclaimed. "Oh, the dramatic irony of it all! Ooh, imagine the looks on their faces when I appear out of the blue after all this time!"

The image in the mirror faded and only his reflection was visible.

"And why have we been hiding all these years?" his image mocked.

"why it's elementary, you silly fool, it's in their face! How they go about their lives, oblivious to my presence! It'll make it all the more easy to get them with their guards gone!

"Except for that wimpy pegasus."

"Oh, nopony will listen to that quivering drip!" He cackled, "Oh, that pony is in for quite a fright!" He bellowed

"Exactly what's the plan this time? Turning them into their opposites again? My my, how WELL that plan turned out!"

"NO, of course NOT! we can't do something that can be undone. We'll have to make a more…permanent change." He tapped his chin with his eagle claw.

"The problem is those Elements of Harmony," his reflection said. "As long as they are willing to use them, we are not safe."

His eyes widened as an idea hit him. "Yes, but what if they weren't willing to use them?"

The reflection smiled evilly. "Ooh, I like the sound of that! So what's the plan?"

"I'll tell ya later. Or I wont! You'll find out soon enough, you're me! Those ponies are in for the surprise of their lives!"

He broke into a roar of maniacal laughter, which echoed throughout the cave. He then glanced around at the emptiness of his lair.

"You know? I've really got to stop talking to myself."

The Gala was only a day away when Spike coughed up a message for Princess Celestia. He held his stomach as Celestia read unaware.

"There is a crisis in Saddle Arabia," she announced to the other princesses after reading the parchment.

"What sort of crisis?" Luna asked.

"I am assuming it has to do with the blockade and airstrikes by Yemane. lacks detail, but it says they need you, Cadence and I to come to their aid."

"should I come with you, princesses?" Twilight questioned.

"That is simply what it says. All of us, excepting you. My apologies twilight, but Even if they requested all of us, one of us will have to stay behind. As my duchess and right hoof pony, I am entrusting you with my kingdom. I have no doubts that you could do this task and prevail."

"What about the Gala? Your presence is expected!"

"We must leave immediately. We have been before, and the ponies are not missing anything by not seeing us for the hundredth time. I know you can take charge."

The young alicorn froze. "me? Rule Equestria? Run the Gala? By myself?"

Celestia nodded. "You will have your friends and brother to help you, of course, but yes. Until we return, all royal duties will be appointed to you."

Her eyes became enlarged and shining. "Do you think I'm ready?" She wondered out loud.

The tall alicorn lifted her chin with her hoof. "I do." Her face charming and regal, grinned enduringly.

When the others heard about this, they panicked.

"You mean they're not going to attend the Gala?" Rarity exclaimed. "Oh, and I made such beautiful dresses! I got to take their measurements and discuss complimentary gems and for WHAT?!"

"We're doing this all by ourselves?" Fluttershy asked horrified.

"Aw, no sweat! We've handled party ponies before!"

"But something as big as the Grand Galloping Gala? Those ponies are rich! They have expectations! It seems like a performance. Oh, I'm feeling lightheaded..."

Rainbow Dash caught her before she hit the floor.

"I'm nervous too," Twilight declared. "But don't worry, girls. I know we can pull this off if we work together!"

This lifted every pony's spirits and they cheered. Well, every pony but Fluttershy, who uttered a half-hearted, "Yay."

"Well, what are we waiting for?" said Rarity. "We have a gala to prepare!"

"I'll go get my birds to practice. Oh! And my geckos."

Her four friends watched in confusion as the pegasus trotted sadly off.

"is flutters okay? She doesn't seem as excited about the gala! She's performing! Do you think her stomach hurts or something!?"

"You know how she is with social events," Rarity said.

"But I've never seen her like this before," Twilight noted.

"It's them nightmares again," Applejack explained. "Theys gettin' worse."

The duchess's

face filled with concern. "How longs this been going on?"

"A while. I can't remember the last time I saw her really smile."

Pinkie pondered. "You know what? Neither can I! I mean when she does give a smile, it looks forced."

"You know she's been getting invitations from an enormous array of stallions?" Rarity mentioned. "But she rejects all of them! I simply cannot understand it! If I received that much attention, I would bask in it! I hope she's feeling loving about herself..."

"You say she's having nightmares?" Twilight asked. "Do you mean the ones involving…?"

She didn't need to finish. "Exactly. She can't seem to get that monster out o' her mind."

"But he's been gone for three darn years!" Rainbow dash reminded them. "What is she afraid of? If he wanted to attack why not do it when where chilling?"

"We gotta find a way to turn her frown upside-down!" Pinkie declared. "But how?"

They all thought for a moment. Then Rarity's face lit up.

"What she needs is a social boost! She should do more at the Gala tomorrow night than conduct the bird choir! She should sing a song!"

"You're right!" Pinkie agreed. "She has an amazing voice, but she doesn't show it off. This could be her chance!"

"What about her stage fright?" Applejack questioned.

"Oh please," Rainbow huffed. "It's high time she got over it, she's awesome! She's gotta know it by now!"

"I suppose she could sing," Twilight said. "We'll have to ask her first."

Fluttershy was reluctant in the beginning, but then decided it would be something to take her mind off of everything and accepted. Besides, with her they could prove they had manners and talents that these rich ponies couldn't dream of!

The posh ponies were astonished when they entered the castle the next evening. The ballroom was decorated like a sweet sixteen, the table was covered in 'standard' baked goods, the orchestra was playing the Pony Pokey and Princess Twilight was greeting the guests instead of Celestia. She of course only did this for the first few minutes and then left to mingle. The scene was also lively due to the presence of the Canterlot orphans. The Canterlot elite were shocked at first, but soon settled into the rusticity of it all. They had to admit, the Gala was a lot more entertaining this year. Plus, the gems adorning dresses all over the place entrapped their eyes.

Pinkie Pie was in the middle of a song when she suddenly cried, "RAINBOW DASH!"

The Wonderbolts had just entered the ballroom and Rainbow Dash was tackled by the enthusiastic pony.

"I'm so glad you're here! I haven't seen you since we gathered!" Pinkie shrieked.

The blue pegasus wrapped an arm around her and laughed. "Good to see you too, Pinkie! Sorry I couldn't visit, my wings were SORE! On the bright side, my legs are super buff!" She flexed, and her stifle tightened, defining her muscular build. She spent a minute admiring her muscles, flexing her forearms. "Oh man, that's beautiful, hehe."

She was then met with Twilight and Applejack, both of which offered her a hug.

"Hey, wheres Rarity and Fluttershy?" she asked, glancing around.

"Fluttershy's practicing her song and Rarity went to pick up the Cutie Mark Crusaders from the train station," Applejack explained with a chuckle. "Though, they're not exactly the Cutie Mark Crusaders anymore."

"Whoa, whoa. Back up. They're not friends anymore? I thought our lessons meant somethin'! I mean, did they even know who they were talkin to?! Kinda a big DEAL! And flutters said yeah??!!"

"She's singing! It's official!" Twilight exclaimed.

Applejack was about to reply when a young voice cried, "Rainbow Dash!"

It belonged to Scootaloo, who was racing towards her role model. Rainbow greeted her adopted sister with a bear hug.

"I missed ya, Scoots! Let's have a look at ya. Wow, you've grown, kid. And…" She paused. OH!! THATS WHAT THEY MEANT!"

Scootaloo lifted her flank to reveal a shield cutie mark, with a small wing in the middle. A lighting strike was in the middle.

"Can you believe it? I finally earned my cutie mark! Sweetie belle and apple bloom have the same kind!"

Rainbow and Twilight gasped. Applejack smirked. "Tried to tell ya."

"Congrats, kiddo!" The older pegasus noogied her purple mane playfully. "I always knew you had slick moves on that scooter!"

"it's actually for helping others with their cutie marks!" Scootaloo exclaimed. "How could I not have known that was my special talent?!"

"EVEN BETTER!!"

Then Rarity approached with Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom who, like Scootaloo, were dressed elegantly. Apple Bloom wore a glittering red dress and had switched her pink bow with a sparkling green one. Sweetie Belle wore glass slippers to match her blue dress with translucent trimming. Scootaloo's hair was short and scrappy and her dress had a magnificent blend of orange and purple.

"Wow," Twilight marveled. "You girls look beautiful! Did you make them those dresses, Rarity?"

"Would you believe it?" Rarity replied. "Dear Apple Bloom here came up with the designs!"

"Really?" Applejack said.

"Yeah! Her gift of design is truly a miracle!" her sister exclaimed. "And guess what appeared as scootaloo's did?"

Apple bloom's flank revealed another shield, this one with an apple in the middle and a heart inside the apple.

"I wanted it to be a surprise! We was so good at trying to find our cutie marks,when we tried to find other's this appeared!"

Applejack sniffed and hugged her little sister. "My little Apple Bloom has finally blossomed!"

"But you said Sweetie Belle had her cutie mark too," Twilight said.

"I do!" the little unicorn piped as she revealed her flank.

Sweetie Belle's cutie mark was a shield with a star and musical note. Twilight did not need to ask what her talent was.

"You three sure have come a long way," Rainbow noted.

"We all have," said Twilight.

Neither of them noticed the gray stallion listening from afar. His deer antler and goat horn were hidden under his top hat, the only things that would not change, along with his yellow and red eyes. He smiled to himself at the alicorn's statement.

"We have indeed, Twilight Sparkle, including me."

-This is a sequal to my other Twicord fic-

Shuffling and other noises filled the air as her friend leaned her head closer to peer at the outfit she was currently perfecting around her. Making sure the ruffles fluffed out just right and the curls of her man weren't crooked in any way. "You've been awfully quiet, Darling." Her friend flinched. "Is something bothering you?" There was a short pause before she sighed and turned her head to peer at the white unicorn in glasses. "I guess I'm just having pre-date jitters. That's all." Yesterday had seemed like a blur and she almost chalked it up to being a dream. Keyword being almost. If it wasn't for Fluttershy dropping by with a cute Hearts and Hooves Day card(she always gave one to her friends and family) and wishing her luck on her date with Discord. Of course she was prepared and read One Hundred and Two Tips For Interspecies Dating Cadence had leant her. Unfortunately, it didn't cover draconequues. So she went to Plan B! Who was the most expert in dating and relationships in close range? "I don't entirely blame you, Twilight. This is Discord we're talking about....Lift your wing please." She did as she asked silently. Rarity may have not seemed like the best choice in relationship advice, but she had enough experience with failed dates and crushes to know what to look out for. And to help her get ready. "I honestly didn't know you still had this. I haven't seen it since Cadence and Shining Armor's wedding." She looked down at the old bridesmare dress Rarity had dug out. She didn't have time to put together a whole outfit for her, but luckily she had an older dress. All that was needed was some wing room. "I was thinking about donating some of my old fashions to the local performing group, but it seems it was a good thing I held onto this one." "Mmm hmm. I'm sure everything's gonna be fine. It's just Discord after all." The unicorn stopped what she was doing and looked at the alicorn princess with a raised brow. "You sound so unsure about this." "Well, of course!" She whirled around to face her. "This is Discord! Who knows what'll happen?" ".....He did say if it didn't work he would like to remain friends. Did he not?" "Well, yes, but-" "AND you two are on good terms, right?" "Yes, but that's not-"

"AND you gave him your word you would go with him. Did you not?" "YES! But that's-" "Then you should have no problem with it." "Rarity!," the purple alicorn shouted making Rarity look up from her sewing. She let out a breath, "You're right. And as the Princess of Friendship I shouldn't let something like a date get in the way of our friendship. But that's not why I'm...….having doubts." Rarity took her time finishing the last of the stitching before calmly looking at her and asking, "What ever do you mean? I'm sure he'll behave himself. Half way at least." "I.....don't exactly have good dating experience." Rarity turned to trot over behind a curtain of sorts but still listened. "Whatever do you mean? You went on one with that-oh, what's his name- Flash Centry!" Twilight sighed and sat down. "He was nice, and a real gentlecolt, but he wasn't the same outgoing, spunky guy I met in the place they call 'highschool'." The curtain was drawn back and Rarity proudly trotted out wearing an elegant dress that very nicely showed off her natural beauty and well done hair. She noticed her friend's stare and posed. "You like it? I've been saving it for a rainy day." "You look beautiful, Rarity. I'm taking it you have a lucky date," Twilight teased lightly, "Who's the lucky stallion this time?" Rarity giggled. "Capper. He's meeting me later at Sugarcube Corner. But, on the topic of lucky dates- Do give Discord a fair chance." She reached out a hoof to place on her shoulder. "Trust me when I say I know from experience. Sometimes it's better to chance it with a friend then to fall for fancy fake-ness. Besides. It's Hearts and Hooves Day. Nopony deserves to be alone." She slowly smiled. "Thanks, Rarity. I should give him the benefit of the doubt." She nodded her head. "That's good to hear. Now, I suggest we both go before our dates come looking for us."

By the time she left Rarity and went back to the giant castle, she realized not much time had passed as she had thought. Only maybe two hours at most. That just left more time to let her mind wonder about all the crazy things that could happen. This WAS Discord after all. So, she did what she normally did when stressed. She read. She wasn't sure exactly how long she'd been(trying to) reading the same two pages, but it felt like an eternity. Especially with her past of awkward non romantic experiences and having basically zero confidence in that area. Perhaps if she pretended that this was just a fun platonic get together with a guy friend? Yeah! That's it! Just look at this as one of those girl buddy guy buddy hangouts. She had those with spike all the time. Heck! It just might be more fun with Discord's crazy antics. She released a sigh of relief at her idea and was finally able to turn the page- "EEEKKK!!!"

The book was dropped to the ground with a thud. She scurried back against the couch at the sight of a giant red and yellow eye staring at her from the page. "Discord!" A deep chuckle filled the air before the familiar flash of light lit up in front of her. A moment later, she was staring up at the smiling creature. "I was wondering when you would turn to me. I was waiting for almost an hour you know. It's very rude to ignore your date." She face hooved. "I didn't know you would-! *sigh* Nevermind. You're here. Let's go and do whatever you planned." He hummed. "Straight to the point I see. But, I may have to change my original plans. She tilted her head confused. "Why?" He pointed his lion paw at her outfit. "My dress?" "If I had known you would dress up like this just for out date, I would've planned something much better suiting." "What? You don't have to-" "Nonsense," he cut her off, "A pretty dress like this doesn't deserve to be wasted. If anything, it'll make things much more fun." "Fun? Fun how?" He smiled. "You'll see soon enough." He raised his eagle claw to snap again. A bright flash of white light filled the room making her squeeze her eyes shut. The sudden shift in environment gave her an uneasy feeling as she was forced on her hooves once again. She opened her magenta eyes, but had to blink a few times to actually take in her new surroundings. "Discord, where are we?" Giant buildings loomed overhead as the sun had just began to set. Yeesh! She spent more time getting ready at Rarity's then she thought. It couldn't be Canterlot. Canterlot had a more.....fancy atmosphere to it. "Manehatton. I knew the young nobles of Canterlot had driven you up a wall, and they don't need to be encouraged by seeing you all dolled up for today." She finally looked at him and blinked. The orange tux from the last gala was back. He noticed her stare and quirked an eyebrow. "Is the tophat too much?" "Wha- Uh! No no. You look really good in orange." He lit up an her compliment. "Why thank you, my dear. And might I say-" He suddenly shot down and grabbed one of her hooves. "-YOU look lovely tonight.~" Her face flushed a deep purple at his compliment. Discord chuckled at her reaction before nodding towards the building in front of them. "Shall we?" She only nodded and he extended a limb. "Well, Princesses first.~" What looked like a simple house in the middle of a city had turned out to be some kind of restaurant. A few couples were seated here and there making googoo eyes at each other or talking. It seemed that this café was cottage themed? It certainly wasn't over the top. "Hi there!" Twilight jumped from the new voice. A slightly smaller pony stared at them in a waitress outfit. She smiled a mouth full of braces at them. "Welcome to Cozy Critters! How can I help you today?" "Just the regular and table for me, Bubbles. You might want to take her order though," Discord piped up before she could. She nodded and turned around. "Follow me please." They were lead to a small table near the back and sat down. Twilight thanked her and took the menu in an aura of purple magic. It showed plenty of options, but she didn't feel like anything fancy though so- "I think I'll just have the hayburger and-" She looked up and froze at what she saw. "-some water. Discord. Are you eating a table?"

The draconequues smiled down at her with his mouth full. A small coffee table was in his hands. Neither noticed the waitress walk away. He gulped before answering. "Why yes. How very observant of you. This is my usual after all." "Why?" "Twilight, the better question is why not. You are talking to THE embodiment of Chaos." He had a point. She shook her head but smiled. "I guess you're right." She glanced around. "Where are we anyways?" "Fluttershy's favorite restaurant. It reminds her of home, and they DO have excellent tables." He took another bite of the table. It splintered and made a crunching sound where he bit down. "Oh. Well, it's really not what I expected, but it's very nice." She paused when something hit her. "Hey." He hummed. "You said you had plans before you decided on this. What was it?" He shrugged. "Just some star gazing up close and seeing the making of a super nova. But, this is probably better. Less noise and more room to talk." Her jaw dropped. "Are you being serious?" "Completely." A small silence followed with him continuing to eat his table. Eventually the waitress pony came back expertly balancing a tray on her head. She bent down and slid it in front of the princess. "Will there be anything else?" Discord shook his head. "No, Bubbles. Just put that on my tab, dear." The burger was pretty good as she bit into it over and over,. The two ate in silence for what seemed like forever- "You seem pretty quiet." She jolted, almost dropping her water, and looked up at him. He still smiled with a raised brow. He no longer had his table so she assumed he finished eating. "O-Oh. Sorry. "With all these young stallions' sudden interest, I thought you'd at least go on a coffee date." She coughed nervously and rubbed the back of her neck. Averting her eyes nervously. "I....uh....Went on one. And I'm the one who kinda asked him. B-B-But it's ok. We're good friends." "And you never accepted when someone else asked you?" He stroked his beard in thought. "How interesting." She shrugged. "They were interested, but their reasons weren't really that sincere." "Understandable." He waved a paw and a glass of chocolate milk appeared in it. "If their intentions weren't pure, then you shouldn't feel pressured to go." He took a gulp. "That's exactly how I feel!" She watched him chuckle and continue to drink. She had to admit she didn't expect Discord of all people to ask her out. Speaking of which- "Discord. Why intentions did you have for asking me?" He stopped mid sip and looked at her. "I guess it's finally that time, hmm?" He made his drink disappear with a flash, and leaned across the table. "I already told you last night, but knowing you, you'd want a more detailed answer. It's simple really." "Then why? Besides my obvious immortality." He chuckled again. "Besides that. Like I said before. You challenge me. Sure a chaotic life is plenty fun by itself, but what's life without a challenge every now and then? Hmm. Easy gets boring after a while. Plus-" He reached a hand over to boop her nose. "-You had some chaotic moments. I can name a few." She tutted. "Really? What?" He raised fingers as he spoke. "Oh. That time you cast those spells to change Fluttershy into a bat, make everypony want your smarty doll thing, have all those parasprites literally eat the town. And let's not forget when you switched everyone's cutie marks. Oh! What about the time you tried to figure out Pinkie's sense? Or when you thought I hypnotized everyone because you were jealous-" "Ok, ok!"

He outright laughed at her sudden intervention. "Shall I continue?" "No. That's ok. I think I get the picture." He leaned back to his full height. "But, I guess the main reason is the old saying that opposites attract. And who is more opposite than us two?" He winked. And despite herself, she giggled and pointed at him. "I thought I was supposed to be the one with love logic," she teased. He placed a paw to his chest in mock shock. "My dear starbutt. Wouldn't it be chaos if I started using logic? Hmhm." The rest of the night was actually quite relaxing and his play on logic made her more at ease. By the time she noticed how late it was, Discord had already snapped his fingers and in a flash of light, they reappeared inside her library. She blinked again again at the uneasy feeling of being forced on her hooves without warning. When she looked back up at Discord, the spirit was floating next to her without the tux. "Did you have fun?" "Yes!," she happily shouted, "Tonight was better than I thought it would be." She smiled sheepishly. "Thank you for treating me to such a lovely experience, Discord." His smile widened. "Think nothing of it. I rather enjoyed myself. Though I can't leave without giving you one last thing." "Oh? What's tha-" She froze as something warm pressed against her cheek. As quickly as it came it left, and Discord chuckled. "A good bye kiss. We should do this again sometime. Tata." In another flash of light, he was gone. Leaving her and her growing blush.

i tried to respond to this 4 times and i lost all my text and almost cried so im gonna make this much shorter than it was supposed to be (8 paragraphs) 😞 PROBABLY A RELIEF FOR MOST OF U THO LOL i have too many headcanons but here are some of my headcanons and /or “perfect world” scenarios for mlp g4 :)

i cant put all of my hcs here but im gonna put the ones i tell most ppl !!! ALSO NOT ALL OF THESE ARE IN THE SAME UNIVERSE!!! (if anybody wants more, ask me something specific .. >:3 nyeheh)

💜 - the mane six minus twilight have all been friends their whole lives, but not as a friend group until twilight came along!!

🩵 - branching off of the last one, rarity has made outfits for ALL of the ponies before !! but pinkie pie has been by far her most loyal customer because yk she throws parties like triweekly !! rarity mostly specializes in dressmaking but can also make other types of stuff . :) pinkie pie and fluttershy both seperately have taken some sewing classes from rarity cuz they alwayss loved her stuff :)

💛 - fluttershy runs/works a petshop/veterinarian clinic

💖 - at some point , pinkie pie moves out of sugarcube corner and runs her own nightclub !! (but like its not a naughty club, this is ponyville we are talking about here !! just lots of candy and soda and DANCING AND GAMES :3) and pinkie pie would be the funnest momma evr >w<

💙 - rainbow dash becomes a coach for the wonderbolts / some sort of coach :)

🧡 - applejack would grow up and continue to just run her family business and have a family of her own !! applejack would be a very caring mother but also she wouldnt take shit from anypony!! if anybody bullied her kid she’d have to try so hard not to kick anypony that bothers her and her kids

🩵 - rarity never expands her business or gets big, but she’s happy with it! her store is independent and a gem that many talk about all around the nation. :) she would be a fun mom but she would spoil the kid a lot lolz

💜 - twilight works at a school as a science/math/magic teacher, book author or a librarian! she would be a pretty average mom IN THE NICEST WAY POSSIBLE just saying she’s just your average girl!! but she has lots of knowledge to share :3 !!

🩷 - either:

-mane six all are alicornized. you cant just give the order keepers of the nation some fancy crystals and tell them to go on with their day while one friend who happened to be a rich unicorn who went to a unicorn school and got hit with a rainbow beam turns into a goddess and you have to watch her outlive you, you make them all goddesses or none of them. especially if the gifted unicorn never asked to be alicornized.

- twilight and cadenza rule together. cadence was done so dirty :( she was given goddess powers just to be sent to a Far Off Land and the Twilight was favored to just RULE A WHOLE NATION ALONE. insanity. also they have been friends / chosen sisters for the longest time. this scenario would not only give cadence a better storyline, but also spit in the faces of “theres already 5 alicorns” ❗️

there was nothing about vamp rarity because i havent expanded on her yet <//3 and also you guys have yet to see my whole cross-race breeding chart.. >:P

I haven't watched MLP actively since I was like 15, but I just woke up from one of those dreams that you only have when you're deep enough into the fandom to read fanfics

In the dream I was Twilight, post alicirnization, and I had to get some medical tests done that they hard to put me under anesthesia for. And I distinctly remember not knowing how to comfortably lay down on my back because first of all ponies are not made for that and second the wings were in the way

There of course was an anesthesia pony who was a unicorn, and she used anesthesia magic on me, but I was worried it would wear off earlier than normal because I was an alicorn. And sure enough the next thing I know is that I'm stumbling through Pineville very dazed, and get spotted by Apple Jack and Rarity, who asked me what am I doing out so early, to which I respond that the nurse horse left the room for a moment and I walked out. And in the process of recalling that I become more lucid and realized that the anesthesia spell did wear off early and I just left the first moment I was unattended, and idk if the clinic was in Counterlot or no but I definitely had to like teleport back to Ponyville while completely out of it

Though there was no sign of trouble, Celestia did not want to spend any longer in the barracks than absolutely necessary, so, after she warmly embraced Spike to thank him for all his help, she placed him on her back, closed the box as quietly as she could, and folded it beneath her wing; and as she sneakily looked around the corner, she whispered to the others they had to get out of here quickly.

But to the great frustration and amusement of the others, it was clear Celestia did not realise how strange her behaviour was, as she snuck around, hugging the wall, all while Eclipse, Starlight, and Sunburst merely trotted as casually as they could; but after they had made little progress, Eclipse quickened their pace, gently lifted the sleeping Dragon off her back, and asked her to follow them.

With Eclipse now leading the group, they safely made it back to the Hall undetected, and in time to finish drinking their tea, only to find it was still too hot to drink; but as Eclipse made a cup of tea for Celestia, she carefully closed the doors to the Hall, and let out a great sigh of relief as she landed on a chair, before she excitedly started to giggle to herself over their accomplishment.

The others chuckled along with Celestia for some time, until Eclipse offered her tea and a biscuit, warning her the tea was still rather hot, and asked her what was in the box they had taken from the barracks; but after Celestia drank empty her cup and ate her biscuit in one bite, she sweetly asked Eclipse if she may have another cup of tea, and placed the box of crystals on the table before her.

When she opened it to show the others, she warned them to be especially careful when carrying these crystals around, for if either a Unicorn or Pegasus, or even an Alicorn, ever hung one around their necks, it would greatly diminish the magic they could wield; luckily, although the box was worn and old, it was entirely full, and every crystal was untarnished, which made it clear they were unused.

But since Celestia knew not how much magic Sombra and Star could wield, nor whether the Shadow they appeared to control would be affected, she was doubtful of the strength of the crystals, and unsure on how to proceed; for it would take too long to enchant every crystal they hung around their neck, to make sure they could not be torn off, yet she knew not how else they could inhibit their powers.

Almost as soon as Celestia finished speaking, Starlight finished her tea, and asked the Princess if she could take out a couple of these crystals, since she may have an idea, for which she would need Sunburst's help; but neither the very surprised Young Wizard or Celestia could utter a word, before Starlight asked him where to find the spell he cast upon the cursed scroll about which he told her.

With a firm nod, Sunburst told her it should not take him long to find the spell scroll, whereafter Starlight kindly asked him to bring it to her, speaking in a monotone voice without looking at him; and as Sunburst ran back to the Archives to grab his satchel, Starlight asked Eclipse to look for a tuned crystal, and Celestia to bring a pendant, while she looked after Spike and prepared the rest.

While Starlight neatly laid out the crystal pendants on the table, the two Alicorns flew out of the Hall just as Sunburst returned, carrying the spell she had asked for, and asking Starlight what she planned to do; but as his friend gently took the scroll from his hooves, and a quill and paper from his satchel, he put his hoof to his face as his confusion lifted, wondering how he did not realise.

Not long after, Celestia returned with a thin silver chain, for which Starlight kindly thanked her, as she put it on the table, a mere moment before she finished rewriting the spell, and Eclipse flew in through the window; but as Starlight hung the crystal they found on the pendant, Eclipse angrily started to berate her about the rarity of pure, tuned crystals, which were nigh impossible to find.

But Starlight paid no mind to her former Mentor's lament, and merely said in a grave tone:

"Stand back…"
