Love Mitsuba scoring dates with Kou pre-relationship by getting Kou riled up by something to the point where he’s like “I’ll show you…”
This movie is better than that movie, let’s go and I’ll show you. Im way better than you at this arcade game, I’ll show you. This restaurant has the best X, let’s go and you’ll see.
It works on Kou everytime and it’s not until he’s on like the tenth date before it clicks that all these outings kinda feel like they could be dates.

Going back an episode and watching Born This Way
Santana is such a bitch but I still love her. Also her first vest and hat combo is fucking iconic! “I gotta gay, I mean go I gotta gay” honey you are so bad at being in closet.
Tumblr media
The way Will thinks he has the capacity to handle everyone’s problems…maybe he is the reason teacher’s need a masters in education. This just makes me think of when he said
Tumblr media
The big deal about junior prom queen and king, when I remember in high school it basically as determined by who won homecoming. Tho senior year our prom Queen was a heavier girl, who was the sweetest and also one of the best singers! Like she deserved it!
YASSSSS my favorite song! Pretty/Unpretty is so amazing! It was a crime that Quinn and Rachel didn’t have another duet! There were like a billion opportunities! I love this song so much.
Honestly I would recap every episode just to go into missed opportunities, #1 Quinn in her ‘stank’ phase not having a punk song like Cherry Bomb by Runaways, I really believe Dianna could’ve killed it.
All the prom posters are horrible which is actually super realistic.
Tumblr media
“The only straight I am is a straight up bitch” ICON!!
The lockers shot with Quinn and Finn was interesting, though we never see anything like that again.
Any chance for Mike Chang to have a spotlight is good with me.
Finn, just break up with Quinn! You are in love with Rachel and she is with you, just pull the bandaid off!!
This whole zero tolerance shit, I get Karofsky is badly with his own gayness, but they just aren’t handling this shit well. It reminds me of Degrassi, thankfully it ended a lot better. Kurt was great for never outing him though. I wish they had handled Karofsky better, like this show dealt with every issue they could find but never handled it well!
Now I want to cry tho with Burt telling Finn “keep an eye on your brother” then Finn saying “I’m one step ahead of you” they really became a family and I love that. It was such a growth and it made me so happy!
Super don’t care about the warblers! Shouldn’t you be at your own school?? It’s a school day and the bell literally just rang! Where did that piano come from?? And the violinists?
I hate the Lucy Caboose stuff! Like her issues couldn’t be more no out of no where, knowing that Sue caused an eating disorder for the Cheerios and idk the whole teen pregnancy stuff!? Dianna did well with it though, why isn’t she in more things? I know she is in a lot of indie movies but give me more! Also her running hallway scene is amazing, it’s always amazing when these ladies go through the hallway, it’s practically a runway!
“Is Barbara here?” “No it’s a mall in Ohio”
Yea Barbara is 1 in a million, and you would’ve been too if you weren’t a fuxking bitch.
Brittany is smart enough to make that ironic shirt but then makes the Lebanese shirt for Santana. Also saying “clearly you don’t love yourself as mch as I love you” isn’t a healthy thing for when someone is in the closet. Not that someone is wrong for not wanting to be in closet for someone else’s sake. It’s a complex thing but again Murphy & the others don’t handle it well. What was the short hand for the show runners? We used to have one
Tumblr media
Remember when Dianna wore the Likes Girls shirt at the Glee concert tour for Born this Way and everyone including myself lost their collective shit? And then she was absent for a couple shows after? Which is super suspicious…

So far of reading your writing, I really love it! :)) May I request Kunikida, Dazai and Ranpo having an younger member of the agency being a sort of subordinate of them but acts a lot like a younger sibling to them? She's just really pure hearted and soft and really looks up to them so she likes helping them out a lot. Just some fluff because my boys deserve all love and affection
Awww thank you so much for the compliment!! This request is so cute, and yes, all the boys deserve all the love and affection that is possible cause they go through too much 😭 Anon requested this as platonic, and reader is gender neutral. Also, I wasn’t too sure what the age should be, so I went with Kyoka’s age, which is 14. Hope you enjoy!
TW: Mentions of suicide in Dazai’s part, but nothing too heavy or specific is mentioned. It does get kinda sad though, but it has a happy ending. Also, slight spoiler for season 2/Dark Era Arc, but nothing too major
Young ADA Member Acting like a Younger Sibling to: Kunikida, Dazai, and Ranpo
Kunikida
Okay, so when you first started at the office, people (specifically Naomi and Junichiro) were nervous when you got paired up with Kunikida. And Kunikida isn’t a bad man by any means, but he can be very, very, very strict
And how well do rules stick with kids/younger people? Exactly. It just sounded like a bomb waiting to explode
And you look so soft and so sweet! What if he made you cry?!
Which Naomi threatened to draw blood if he did
Even Kunikida himself was nervous. This was not written in his notebook to be a glorified babysitter!
But the President insisted, putting faith into you that you’ll be a great addition to the team and that he can lead you on the right path and not into trouble like some people he won’t mention (Dazai)
That was all that he needed to hear, and he took those words very serious. He won’t let the President down, and he wasn’t going to let you down either. You guys were gonna give it your all, whether you were ready to or not
But, to everyone’s surprise (really his) you both adapted well. You treated him with respect, said yes sir, no sir, tidied up both of your desks (which were right next to each other), you even tried to abide by his stern schedule without any complaints
You were a great help on missions too, you didn’t recklessly throw yourself into danger, and you made sure to look out for citizens to keep them safe and out of danger
And that wasn’t it, oh no
You made sure to bring him snacks (atleast the ones that he said were ideal), made sure that he was keeping hydrated and not tensed up all the time (working in this office will do that to you), and to make his workload as light as possible
After seeing him go off on Dazai for the 1000th time and getting wound up over a case that wasn’t getting any leads, you saw how stressed and frustrated he was getting. Mumbling to himself about how could he “replace the President if he couldn’t do this right”So you tapped on your shoulder, with one goal in mind: To comfort him
When you tapped his shoulder, he turned and yelled, “WHAT NOW?!”, right into your face
Time stood still as everyone froze, shocked. Even Kunikida himself after he saw it was you.
He felt immediately guilty, about to apologize for losing his cool when you began speaking
“Mr. Kunikida, please don’t stress too much. It’s not good for your heart! And don’t let this one thing stop you! You’re a great leader, and someone that I look up to. I wouldn’t be where I was at now without you! So please don’t doubt yourself, because we don’t, especially me! You’re my role model, Mr. Kunikida. Please, don’t ever forget that.”
After that, it was like a flip switched in him
“(Y/N), come here and walk very slowly.”
You did so with no hesitation, but you were curious
“Your shoe is untied. Here, let me tie it for you. It wouldn’t be ideal if you get injured because of a lousy shoelace. It wouldn’t be ideal if you got injured at all.”
“(Y/N), we have lunch scheduled at exactly 12:15. They’re also serving your favorite today, so we can’t be late, understand?”
“Yes sir!”, you said with a smile
“(Y/N), let’s go. It’s getting dark and if you still want to see that dreaded light show, we have to leave in 20 seconds to make it! I don’t want to see you sad or hear you complain if we miss it.”
“Coming sir! Just finishing up some work for tomorrow-“
“I already have it written in my notebook on when it will be done, so we can go.”
“Here you go Mr. Kunikida, I already typed up and printed out the reports for later on!”
“Thanks kid. And you don’t have to keep calling me Mister okay? Kunikida is fine.”
Dead silent in the office
KUNIKIDA is letting someone way younger than him just call him KUNIKIDA? Not MR.KUNIKIDA???
Everyone is, realistically, shook
But as time went on, they understood why
He came to look after you as his own
The entire ADA would have never thought the day would come (it wasn’t even in the notebook!) where he would care for a kid like his little sibling but here it was, right in front of their faces
But they weren’t complaining at all. You seemed to make his day a little brighter, and he wasn’t as uptight as much (but don’t be mistaken he was still Kunikida, just at an 8 instead of a whole 10)
After that mini pep talk that fateful day, he made it his duty to be a good role model for you. To always set a good example, both in and out the office.
He wouldn’t fail you, and he would be damned if he let anything happen to you
You’re a good kid, and you only deserve the best. And he was gonna be the best role model (and brother) for you
Dazai
Aw man, he was..conflicted to say the least
Listen, it’s not like he hates kids or teens, but it’s just extra responsibilities to watch over them. And he already slacks off enough to begin with, so is this really a good idea sticking a 14 year-old with him?
And lowkey, the way that he treated Akutagawa is still heavy on his mind, and he doesn’t want a repeat
But the President made it so, and Kunikida was ready to attack if he even thought about denying the order. Plus, it could be like another Atsushi around (another person to pass work off too) so that was a win!
And another person to annoy Kunikida too
You looked so pure and innocent. Are you sure that you’re in the right place?
He genuinely thought you were a lost kid when you came up to him the first time lmao
Geez, you even sound sweet too! How has this world not damage or corrupt you yet?
“Hi Mr. Dazai! It’s nice to meet you. I hope that we can make a great team, and that I’m here to help if you need anything!”
“Nice to meet you too. And now that you mention it, these reports have been giving me a hard time...”
Not gonna lie, he did take advantage of your help. You offered, so why not? He thought you were gonna get sick of it soon and start complaining, but nope
You took his reports and did it with no hesitation every time. And you always handed it to him with a bright smile. On top of that, you always cleaned up his area and behind him, you did any leftover work that he ignored forgot to do so that he wouldn’t get yelled at, and tried to bring him small snacks and even packed a whole lunch for him when you noticed that he didn’t eat a lot
He even started to feel pretty bad and he was getting disapproving looks from his fellow detectives (even Kenji, and he never frowns)
So he started to take back and *GASP* actually do his work?!
But you stopped him, and told him that he should, “Take it easy! You work hard enough as it is saving the city. It’s no problem doing these reports, and I want to help you in any way I can, Mr. Dazai.”
“(Y/N), don’t worry, I can do them. And remember it’s just Dazai, calling me Mister makes me feel old like Kunikida-”
“I HEARD THAT!”
And it seemed like you really cared for his wellbeing, especially when you had to accompany him on missions
Well, it just so happen that while you were going with Atsushi to find Dazai to start a mission, you both found him
Hanging upside down, sinking to the bottom of the lake
You rushed into the water immediately, pulling him out and onto the ground while Atsushi was just standing there in disbelief
Atsushi is so done with his shit
“Dazai, can you hear me?! Dazai?! Atsushi, I gotta give him CPR I don’t think he’s-”
“(Y/N) don’t worry he’s okay! This isn’t his first time he’s done this, and probably not the last.”
“W-what do you mean?”
Oh
Oh
You didn’t know about Dazai’s suicide methods? Did he not tell you or talk about it in front of you? Atsushi would have been somewhat proud of him if this whole situation didn’t happen, but here we are
“Geez, guess this method isn’t for me. It seems like someone is bound to always inter- hm, (Y/N)? What are doing out of the office? What’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
You hugged his chest tightly, not caring that he was practically soaked down to the bone
“Please stop, Dazai! Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to leave everyone?! Why are you trying to leave ME?!”
That got his attention
“Your life is important, Dazai, too important to try and end it on your own terms! You’re special to me, I look up to you. You’re smart, funny, and you help everyone out in your own special way. If you weren’t here anymore, everyone would be so lost...I would be so lost..,I-I-I wouldn’t know what to do-”
“(Y/N)-”
You looked up, eyes red and puffy with tears rolling down your cheeks, but filled with determination
“I promise you that I will make sure you know how much you matter to everyone. I swear on my life that I will.”
Okay, so you know how you were helpful/adorable before? On a scale of 1-10, you were definitely at an 11. But Dazai felt like you were at a 20
At first, he thought that you weren’t being genuine. You were just a young kid who didn’t know any better and was just trying to do your job, in sickeningly, oversweet way. I mean, who would really care about him with his horrid past? He was convinced that you were just naïve, and that the world would swallow you whole when it gets the chance. And it made him feel pity for you
But you proved him wrong
You weren’t just some ignorant child. You were in this agency working alongside him for a reason. And you reminded him of that everyday when he saw you working, handling the cases, taking actions on missions, all the while being kindhearted through and through
You especially went out of way for him, and it was both a warm and scary feeling. People that he ended up caring for shared an undeserving fate, and he blamed himself for it constantly. So he tried to keep his distance, for your safety. You still had a life to live, and he didn’t want to ruin that for you.
But it was kinda hard to when you work together, and with you constantly being under his wing trying to show him the good in life and the difference that he made, he couldn’t help but admit it
You proved him wrong, and not a lot of people can say that.
You went out of your way to make sure that everyone was okay, mentally and physically. He didn’t want to admit it, but you made the office (and his life) a little bit more bearable when you were around. You’re a good kid. And it was so fun to rope you and sometimes Atsushi into his schemes lmao y’all can be so gullible sometimes
Unfortunately, he still planned to leave this world, but he tried not to talk about it in front of or around you, and his number of attempts did dwindle, so that was a good thing
“Hey (Y/N), let’s grab something to eat, I would be a terrible person if I let my dear little baby assistant go hungry.”
“Dazai, if you’re hungry, you can just say that. I don’t mind finishing this later. It’s good to eat when you need to, and your health is #1 priority!”
He couldn’t take back his past and the way he abused Akutagawa, but he could certainly make sure that he doesn’t make the same mistakes
And that would start with being a decent role model for you. He won’t exactly be a “model citizen”, but he will always do the right thing. He’s turned over a new leaf by turning to the light, and while his methods aren’t always legal, he won’t stray from it again
And he won’t let you stray either
Ranpo
He was not a happy camper at all, let me tell you
Hello, do you know who he is?? He’s the greatest detective in the world! Why would the President think he need a sidekick?! He saw you working under him as an insult. Were they trying to say that he wasn’t good enough on his own?!
You weren’t exactly welcome with open arms, but that was okay! You were a complete stranger to him, but you were hoping that would change overtime
And Fukuzawa offered to praise him if he took you in so he stopped pouting momentarily
“Hi Mr. Ranpo! I’ve heard great things about you, and I hope that we can get along!”
“Well, of course you’ve heard great things about me, I’m the greatest detective in the world! It would be a crime if you didn’t hear about me.”
It was a rocky start between you guys to say the least. Not only was he lazy with the work he already had (I mean, it was too easy for him), but you were always willing to complete it (which you did, when you realized that maybe he was too tired or had other important things to worry about)
Who are you trying to fool, this man was just being lazy
But you either didn’t realize it or you just purposely ignored it to get it done for the sake of the agency. Bless your pure heart for putting up with that poutyface
Despite that, you handled everything with positivity and pride. When discussing cases (even though he would solve it in under a minute), you already had the reports ready to go, took notes for him, and you even tidied up his desk (which really consisted of his snack pile)
And you were starting to grow on him. You were like his mini cheerleader/#1 fan. His ego was going through the roof
On missions, it was a piece of cake for him, duh! With his ability, Super Deduction, it was always easy. And you were in the background, in awe with everything going on. He wanted to say he was surprised, but he would be lying. It would be a downright lie if you said you weren’t impressed with his ability and with him in general.
You repeatedly praised him, and he always gave you the same response:
“World’s greatest detective, remember?”
The one thing that would cause him to see you in a new light, was when he got lost. You remembered Kunikida mentioning that he wasn’t the best at navigating the train system
He really said that Ranpo didn’t even know how to read the schedule, and that someone had to always walk with him to make sure he was going to the right places.
He just wanted to go back to the office to his beloved snacks, when this happened. He wasn’t stupid by any means, but it was a waste to use his ability on something trivial as this-
“Mr. Ranpo! Wait for me!”
Just as he knew, you were running late meeting him
“Hey (Y/N) what took you so long?! My beloved snacks are calling for me back at the agency, and I need to answer-”
“Don’t worry, I packed you some!”
“Yeah, I already knew that since that’s the reason you’re late. And before you ask, you look out of breath, the receipt is still crumpled in your hand, and I see some crumbs from something you already ate on your clothes.”
Huh. Was it that obvious? You guess so...
Or maybe Ranpo really is the world’s greatest detective!
“I know, I know. I’m the best, no need to tell-”‘
“Mr. Ranpo, you deserve all the praise that you get. You’re someone I want to be like when I get older.”
“Hm?”, there you go praising him again, but you were crying
“I feel like people don’t take you seriously like they should, Just because you don't fight like the others doesn’t mean that you’re not a valuable asset to the group! And I wish people saw you like how I do! You’re my inspiration to do my best everyday. And I know that I can’t be the best detective, but I want to be as strong and intelligent and brave just like you so I can save people and be a motivating hero like you!”
He’s silent, and your words are sinking in. You’re wiping away your tears, the start of an apology on the tip of your tongue, when he suddenly put his hand on top of your head
He’s staring right at you, glasses on and green eyes open for you to see
“You’re already on your way there (Y/N). That I know. And I’m never wrong with my deductions, let alone when using my ability.”
The flood gates have OPENED
You know that he doesn’t technically have an ability, but that doesn’t stop you from accepting his words and finding them as the truth. If Ranpo said it, he meant it. He was the world’s greatest detective, and you didn’t have any doubt in him
“Now let’s go, it’s going to start raining and I don’t want us to be hungry and drenched. Plus, Kunikida is totally freaking out and thinking that we’re both lost and in some criminal’s hideout right now.”
After that fateful day, the dynamic shifted between you two. Instead of you just doing the work, he pushed it off on someone else so he could explain to you about the different cases he had to solve, and other detective matters
Really he was just bragging and having you both slack off, but it didn’t matter you guys were still having fun
It even got to a point where he shared some snacks with you from his sacred snack pile
BOY WAS THAT THE TALK OF THE OFFICE
All in all, while he knew that you couldn’t be the greatest detective (that was his title after all), he would help you get to your goal regardless. Not that you would need a lot of extra help, he was watching over you after all, and you already have a good head on your shoulders along with the heart of a hero
Every Sherlock needs a Watson, and he deducted that it wasn’t too bad having you by his side

"Come on Sam, hurry your ass up!" Y/n said half screaming and half whispering at me from the window. I grumbled and moved in my bed.
"Sam, you promised we'd go out tonight!" She whispered. I tossed in my bed before throwing the sheets away from my warm body. I had worn my previous day's clothes to bed, knowing that Y/n would be at my window way too early.
"Quiet down, give me a second," I said pushing my sneakers on and standing up. She stood in front of my window, leaving it open just a bit for her. She danced outside the window and gave me a look of excitement.
I grabbed my cell phone and jumped out of the window. It was more chiller than I anticipated. Y/n dressed in jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, and a fluffy long sweater. It was cute. She looked warm as she danced and moved in front of me. She hummed with her eye closed barely missing bumps in the sidewalk, or garbage in the street.
"Y/n watch out would ya'" I said running to catch up with her. I have known Y/n since we were little kids that played in the sandbox at school. Basically growing up with each other. Both of us school being smart, and street smart with people.
She was the type of girl that dressed up for homecoming and graduation but at her heart, she was a full-out tomboy. She is beautiful she stops in the road turns and swings to look at me. Her smile only becomes bigger as she remembers that I'm behind her.
Today at school I had promised Y/n during our second period ap class. She had already been begging me for the last week. Texting me during the week.
"Y/n since you're the one who wanted to go out. What are your plans for tonight?" I asked, looking over at her. Without missing a beat, "Yeah, I have an idea. With it being two in the morning, I was thinking we could go to the old arcade place down on western street." She said smiling, with begging eyes behind that smile.
Whatever you want Y/n, you know all you gotta do is ask me and I'll give it to you. What else would I do for you? Anything to see that bright smile in the light of the moon. Anything to be the boy... man that makes you feel like you're at the top of the world.
"We can figure it out, Y/n," I said taking her hand in mine. We usually walked around for a few hours before getting into trouble wherever we would, or we could possibly never be found out about.
We walked down the street, hands together clasped together like she never wanted to let go of me. It was that homey feeling. The feeling of knowing no matter what else is going on outside, or maybe just around our bubble. Nothing is messing with our moments together.
I'd like to think that's why sometimes we don't get caught. That's the best feeling. But regardless of that, let me tell you of the night that I got into some trouble with my dear Y/n.
We had finally made our way to the arcade. No cars parked outside, and all the lights were out. This was the same building that was lit up during the day and always had a full parking lot in front. It was also the place that Dean would take me most of the time when he had a girl or girls over at the house.
I had all the high scores on the speed racing machines, and I knew all the right patterns for getting the most tickets. The number of tickets I'd have by the end of the day was shocking. The times that I'd gone up to the front desks and claimed my prizes were great.
But that was outweighed by the times that with said tickets I had taken soft animals and stupid little items for Y/n. No, we weren't dating, but yes how much I wished I could have her for my own. take care of her like she's supposed to be.
Y/n had become my friend in a science class. Dean had introduced her to a douchebag, which ended up breaking her heart. Since then Y/n has come to me every time a boy has hurt her, but I've never been harsh and rude about the things she tells me I just console her and do what 'friends' are supposed to do.
'Friends' aren't supposed to fall for each other. They aren't supposed to wake up at two in the morning to break into a building just so she can have some midnight fun.
Y/n hasn't dated anyone in a long while, but the fear of her doing so is raw and harsh for me. Afraid that I'll have to pick up the pieces again, repair her and not kill that guy that broke her down yet again. I just wish.
I wish that she be smart enough to see that she has an amazing guy standing right next to her already. There's no need to go searching through the pit of bad guys, or guys that just want her body for sex.
I don't want those things right now... I just want her heart, I want her beautiful mind. To realize that she isn't missing out because I'm already there for her.
Regardless of that, we had arrived at the old arcade building. Y/n pulled a bobby pin from her hair one that was already there in case she needed it. She was much the female version of macgyver.
Lock picking the front door wasn't that hard. But having Y/n over my shoulder only made me feel hot, it was a weird feeling. My body could feel her eyes tracing down my body.
Down my spine, it tingled. Back up to my neck. it was so strange. I wonder if this is how Y/n feels when my gaze gets stuck on her in school, or just when she's walking in front of me.
"Sammy, you brought the quarters right?" She questioned me as I shut the door after letting her walk in first. "Come on Y/n you know I always do," I said, locking the door just in case.
Going to machines first, she grasped m hand and pulled me with her. Her hands were so soft and warm. They were much smaller than mine. But you ever get that feeling where something is just right, I wonder if Y/n feels it too?
"Come on Sammy, please!" She said as I handed her the quarters for the stupidest game they had. Pac man. The game that Y/n had a strong love/hate relationship with. Her love for the design of the game, but her hate for how she could never get past my high score.
"Sammy go play a game before the sun comes up and we have to leave." She said turning her head slightly to glare at me. "No, Y/n I think I'll stay right here," I said with a cock tone.
"Yeah stay here and watch me fail."She said rolling her eyes before going back to the game. She tried four times before giving up and grabbing my hand once again leading me towards the ski ball area.
"Mr. Kay has really kicked up this area," I said looking at the different colored machines and how many he really did have. She looked around a raised eyebrow before opening my hand and taking the necessary number of quarters and starting a game.
Let me remind you we were doing this all in the dark. She giggled as the balls dispensed. She was thought just a second early causing her fingers to get in the way of the balls. "Shit." I turned around
"What? Did you... Are you okay?" I said stumbling across my words. "Yeah I'm fine Sammy, the balls just hit my fingers." She said as I held her hand in my own inspecting her fingers. Before kissing them all individually.
When I looked up she was blushing and smiling. My actions now processing in my head. "I'm so sorry, I didn't... I'm..." "Sammy it's okay, you know if I had a problem with something I'd most definitely tell you." She said patting my cheek gently, before going back to her game.
I felt so hot, so warm, so in love. Is that possible to fall in love with someone just by what they say. Because if so, that's what had just happened.
when Y/n had finished that game. I couldn't help but let my hands roam, they roamed up her back, up her spine, just behind her neck. "Sam? What?" She started to talk.
But I think she might have got lost in my eyes, or maybe in the moment. IOnce her eye met mine, I couldn't help but kiss her, bring her lips closer to me.
Y/n let me guiding her lips towards my own. She plump kissable lips towards me. She at this moment looked so beautiful, so perfect. The sun was starting to come in from the big glass-paned windows. It laid nicely across her face and her body.
Once our lips did finally meet. It felt like magic if that's even possible. Her hands coming up to grasp my face, mine falling down to her hips, pulling her closer to my body.
"Y/n" I breathed out, turning her in my grasp before I gently laid her down onto one of the used ski-ball machines. She moaned into our kiss, but unfortunately, there's a thing call air. And we both so desperately needed it.
We stayed in this position for a moment catching our breath, but not before we could get any further. The light of the building turned on, I was so dazed and stuck in the gaze of Y/n sweet eyes. I didn't hear the click of the old man's shoes against the tile floor.
"Excuse me?" I heard. In the slipt of a second, I was off of Y/n and standing, as if I had just been caught by my father. "I'm so sorry Mt. Kay. We'll be leaving now. I'm so sorry, please don't tell my father." I jumbled out, grabbing Y/n's hand to pull her up.
He took one look at Y/n and me. He smiled and spoke in a rather harsh voice. "I did feel like I had forgotten somethin' last night. You two are fine. I remember sneakin' away with my girl many years ago. And don't fear, Sammy I won't be tellin' anyone." Mr. Kay said waving us off.
I could feel Y/n's heartbeat in her hand. We walked out the front door, the sun beaming just over the peak of the trees. We walked in silence before Y/n spoke, "You know I thought that was going to worse than it did." She said, our hands still clasped together.
Her hair a wreck since I had run my hand through it while making out with her. "We finally got caught," I said, looking forward. The number of mixed emotions going on in my body right now was confusing the hell out of me.
"Sam?" She said. "Sam, what's going in your mind? I can see the steam pouring out of your ears." She said trying to make me laugh. "Sam please talk to me?" She said tugging on my hand.
"Y/n... I'm sorry." Her eyebrows bent inward. "What? You've.. Huh?" She said stopping in her spot. " I'm sorry that I just kiss you like that, and that we got caught."
She just smiled and rolled her eyes. "Stop apologizing, I liked you kissing me." She said stepping closer to me, a most likely dumbfounded expression. "Close your lips, and kiss me again Sammy." She said leaning in closer.
I hadn't thought that Y/n also was fallin' in love with me. Stupid teenager's minds. Getting caught, but loving the trouble we caused. "I think Sammy.. I think I love you. I think I've loved you for a long time now." Y/n said. I smiled and hummed in agreement.

omg pls do 38 with grayson i'll cry
Lynds ily 🥺 also sorry this is LONG for a concept I got carried away as usual
38. You help a lost child find their parent together.
(btw I wrote this with like mid-teen y/n and grayson in mind)
You were so excited that you and your friends had finally found the time to hangout together. You all had been so busy with finals and work, but with summer finally coming around the gang had made plans to visit the amusement park you used to go to as kids. You’d been hyping up the trip for so long, so when you all actually arrived it was such an exciting rush you hadn’t felt in a long time. Since you’d made it there at around noon, the plan was to eat at the park, but when you realized that everybody wanted something different, you guys decided to split up and get your food, then meet back at the tables. And so you sauntered off towards the nearest DQ, knowing full well that you intended on getting all the desert you could.
You were about to step into the line when you heard the faint sound of crying coming from the arcade right across from where you were. You turned to see a little boy, maybe around 5 or 6 years old, standing at the entrance, a terrified look on his face as he bawled his eyes out.
“Oh no,” You muttered doing a 180 and almost slamming face first into the couple in line behind you. You sheepishly mumbled out an apology, hastily trying to push your way out of the line that had somehow almost doubled in the twenty seconds you had been standing there for. You were met with many grumpy faces as you shimmied out of the line, some throwing curses at you, and you would usually be annoyed about it if it wasn’t for the poor little kid you were trying to get to.
You ran up to the boy and crouched down so you were eye level with him. “Hey, hey bud, are you okay? Are you lost?”
He nodded through his sobs and sniffles, looking around hastily for someone.
“Who did you come with?”
“M-m-my m-m-mom,”
“Do you have any idea which way she went?”
“N-no! My m-mom told me i-if I ever get l-l-lost I sh-should stay where I a-a-am and she’ll f-f-find me,” He was starting to cry harder.
“Hey, don’t worry I’m gonna help you find her, okay?” You brought your arm up to rub his shoulder reassuringly. “What’s your name, bud?”
“C-Caleb.”
“Do you know your mom’s phone number, Caleb?”
“Y-yea!”
“Wow, aren’t you smart! Do you wanna try calling your mom from my phone?”
“Y-y-yes.”
“Great.” You got up and reached into your jeans’ pockets, only for your fingers to slide down to the bottom of the cool denim. You frantically patted down all your pockets, searching for your phone when you remembered- you’d given it to your friend during the car ride to change the music and she hadn’t given it back to you.
“Shi-” You stopped yourself from cursing when you remembered who was there with you.
“W-What’s wrong?”
“Nothing Caleb, just give me a second, alright? I’m going to find a phone for you.”
“O-okay.”
You looked up to see a boy standing at one of the arcade games. It looked like he’d just finished up, since he was reaching for the tickets that had come out of the machine.
Normally, you weren’t someone to walk up to cute boys (especially not ones THIS attractive) on a whim, but that wasn’t the first thing on your mind right now.
“Caleb, just stay right here for one minute okay?”
“W-w-where are you going?” You could see the tears beginning to well up in his eyes again.
“No no don’t worry! I’m just going to go get a phone for you really quickly, okay?”
He sniffled, but nodded. You walked hastily over the boy who was about to leave the machine.
“Hi, sorry to bother you.” You tapped him on the shoulder, and when he turned around you were taken aback a bit. You must’ve stood there for a bit longer than normal, because he raised an eyebrow at you.
“Yes..?”
You shook your head. “Do you have a phone I could borrow? This little boy Caleb is lost and he wants to call his mom but I don’t have mine on me..” You pointed at the kid at the entrance.
“Oh! Yea, of course! Here,” He shoved his hand into his shorts pocket, unlocked it, and handed it to you with a smile.
“Thank you so much, you’re a lifesaver.” Before he could respond you hurried back over to little Caleb and gave him the phone.
“Do you know how to dial?”
“Y-yea.”
“Okay.”
He dialed his mom’s number and held the phone up to his ear, it looking comically large in his small hands. After a few rings you heard a woman’s frantic voice on the call.
“Hello?”
“Mommy!” Caleb cried again.
“Caleb? Is that you?”
Caleb wailed over the phone for a bit, crying for his mom to come find him but wasn’t really making any coherent sense. After a while he calmed down, and actually answered the questions his mom was asking.
“You know this kid?” You were startled by the voice from behind you, and it took you a second to realize it was the one who’d lent you his phone that was walking up to you.
“Oh, no. I just saw him crying.”
“Ah, gotcha.”
Caleb’s sudden burst of sobs caught you both off guard.
“Honey, listen to mommy. Is anyone there with you?” you could both hear his mother’s voice over the phone.
“Y-y-yea, the nice girl!”
“Can you give it to her please?”
He looked up at you, eyes glistening, and handed the phone to you.
“Hi Ma’am, I’m Y/N.”
“Hi sweetheart, thank you so much for helping him. Where are you right now? He said he’s at the games but I don’t know what he’s talking about.”
“Oh, we’re right outside the arcade. It’s pretty close to the entrance.”
“Oh yes I remember passing by it! Thank you, sweetheart, I’ll be there right away!” She hung up the phone.
You looked down at little Caleb and crouched down so you were next to him again. “Don’t worry, your mommy said she’ll be here soon, okay?”
He sniffled. “O-okay.”
You smiled, rubbing his shoulder again.
“Oh,” You got up to your feet and handed the boy his phone. “Here. Thanks.”
“No problem. I’m Grayson, by the way.”
“Y/N.”
“W-when will she get here?” Caleb asked.
“I’m not sure, Caleb. But definitely soon.” You could tell he was going to start crying again, but before you could do anything Grayson spoke.
“Hey, bud, how about I give you something?”
He wiped his nose with his arm. “W-what?”
“It’s a surprise.” He smiled at him, then winked at you before walking back into the arcade, causing blood to rush to your face.
“W-what’s he doing?”
“I dunno, bud. Must be something cool though.” You grinned at the boy, and you finally got a smile to crack from him.
A few minutes later Grayson walked back, and he was holding something behind his back.
“Can you hold this for a sec?” He handed you his phone again, and you took it, curious yourself as to what he was doing.
“Caleb, guess what I got you.”
“W-what?”
He brought his arm out from behind his back to reveal a cute stuffed green dinosaur.
Caleb’s eyes widened and his smile grew. “Wow! How did you know I liked dinosaurs?” He took it from him, smiling giddly.
“Because you’re wearing a super cool T-rex shirt!” He knelt next to him, pointing at it. “I’m jealous, I wish I had a shirt that cool.”
Caleb laughed. “Really?”
“Yea! I’m sure you’re the coolest kid at school, aren’t you?”
“Haha, yea!”
You smiled, watching Grayson have his fun conversation with the little boy. You’d never seen someone your age act so natural and kind around kids before. It was kinda cute.
You finally looked down at Grayson’s phone, realizing that you still had it in your hand. You were about to hand it back to him when you realized it was open on an app already. You brought it up to your face, having to squint a bit in the sunlight, and saw that it was opened to contacts. And some of it was already filled out.
In the First Name box he’d already had your name written, and in the Last name box he’d written: If it’s cool with you :) ↓
The arrow was pointing below to the field to enter your phone number.
You smiled. You got a head rush when you realized what was happening. You looked back towards him to see that his attention had left Caleb (who was now happily playing with his dinosaur plushie) and was now focused on you with a small smile.
“This is very cocky of you, yknow.”
He laughed. “Sorry. I was too scared to just ask.”
You bit your tongue, grinning at him as you went to enter your number into his phone. You could see him pumping his fists into the air out of the corner of your eye, and you giggled.
“Hey, Caleb. Gimme a high-five.” Caleb did so, earning a big grin from Grayson. “My man!”
Caleb laughed, and you did with him.
Not too long afterwards, Caleb’s mom came running up to her son and hugging him tighter than you’d seen anyone hug a person before. “Oh my sweet angel.”
She thanked you and Grayson a million times over, and you both assured her that it was no trouble at all. She asked if she could treat you to anything, but you both let her know that you were just happy that she’d found her son. After they left, Grayson turned to you.
“How about I treat you to lunch instead?”
You crossed your arms at him. “You really think you can get away with lines like that?”
“I’m just asking!” He chuckled.
You did too. “I’d love to, but I’m actually having lunch with some of my friends-” Your eyes widened. “Shit! My friends!” You grabbed your wallet from the floor. “Sorry, I gotta go!” You began to run, but looked back at him. “Call me!”
“I will!” He laughed, waving to you as you raced off to meet your friends.

Every school has an obligatory psychotic jackass. He’s ours.
It has been one year since The Incident. In celebration of this beautiful, snarky, dynamic, passionate, beloved, smug, asshole, essential, etc., etc., character I have complied a lengthy (but by no means exhaustive) collection of some of my personal favorite fics focusing on Logan, or on his relationships, or fics that i just think do something neat in terms of Logan/his journey/his character. ❤️
Tumblr media
Previously on vmficrecs:
dark_roast, “Fish Out of Water,” Mature, Post Season 1 AU
Logan opts to leave Neptune, and spend summer vacation with his grandparents.
Notes: This AU is essential reading if you love Logan. His characterization is nearly perfect, and the premise of the fic is endlessly engaging and smart.
wily_one24, “Sleep, Perchance...,” Mature, Pre-series AU
Logan thaws towards Veronica and sets out to save her.
Notes: I want to eat this fic. If you’ve never read it, read it-- it will linger endlessly inside of your brain in the best way possible. So many of the things Logan does or says in this fic exist in a very tangible and palpable manner for me, it’s that good. I think about it constantly.
ghostcat, “What We Have in Common,” Teen, Post Season 3 AU
Weevil Navarro, his incredibly poor choice of a research paper prepping locale and the close talking, finger waving jackass that interrupts and effectively hijacks his night. Set in 2010, three years after The Bitch is Back.
ghostcat, “A Trace of Meaning,” Teen, Pre-series
13 year-old Logan Echolls and 14 year-old Veronica Mars wait at the Kane Estate for their held-up sleepover hosts to show up.
theohara, “Rich Dirt,” Mature, Pre-series AU
And Logan wouldn’t let you have anything. He’d danced over to you and smirked in your face and twirled your plastic cup right out of your hand and cooed that just because your Daddy wasn’t sheriff anymore didn’t give you license to break the law, and he’d acted all shocked with his hand over his mouth and he’d laughed like breaking glass and nanced off with your drink.
anjou, “Into the Blue,” Mature, Post Season 1
It’s almost summer, and Logan is sinking into the blue.
flyingcarpet, “Mexicali Blues,” Mature, Post Season 3 AU
When he reaches the water he doesn’t hesitate, just keeps walking until he can duck his head under and start to swim away from shore, letting the salt and the waves wash away the residue that Neptune’s left on his skin.
absolutelyiris, “Truth for a Dream,” Teen, Future Fic (Pre-movie)
Fleet Week 2012. A reformed bad boy turned sailor and a former party girl turned career woman meet in a bar…
Notes: A LOGAN AND PARKER FRIENDSHIP FIC!!! pure fucking delight
absolutelyiris, “Come Around,” Mature, Future AU
A woman travels the world over in search of what she needs and returns home to find it.
Notes: I will talk about this fic until the day that I day, and then I will still talk about it. One of my absolute favorites. Pure gold Logan/Keith dynamic. I would 10/10 die for Razia. and, of course, the l/v is so damn good
TheLastGoodGolfish, “The Phenomenal Pixie, #1,” Teen, AU
Veronica is a masked avenger who stalks the streets of Neptune. Logan is the intrepid reporter who’s on the story.
Notes: PERFECT. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT. also-- “That’s ridiculous. My favorite person is a sorority girl.” in my head, rent free, and i am forever indebted.
bryrosea, “Waste of Breath / A Quartz Contentment,” Mature, Post Season 2 to TDTL
Part one: Logan Echolls, the nine years, and the Navy. Part two: Veronica Mars, the nine years, and a new normal.
Notes: I am recommending specifically “Waste of Breath” for my boy, although Veronica’s piece is excellent as well.
always_winter, “Written Out,” Teen, Season 2 AU
Duncan has some residual guilt and Logan wants to be left out of the story.
always_winter, “White Combs and Sweet Honey,” Mature, Season 1
Even when Aaron is trying to be a good father, there’s still a lot he’s doing wrong.
Notes: This fic is so tender to me!!! A beautiful Logan and Aaron piece.
sadiekate, “Grand Canyon,” PG-13, Season 1 to Future AU
Three friends reminisce several years in the future, snarkily and pointlessly.
sinaddict, “Necrosis,” Explicit, Season 2 AU
Death in bits and pieces, denial as a religion… Or ‘normal’ in Neptune.
sowell, “Surviving the Wreck,” Explicit, Season 3 AU
Nothing’s ever simple with Veronica Mars. Weevil’s day at sea gets a little complicated.
Notes: THIS FUCKING FIC!!!! i love everything about it and especially at this moment in time, the part where logan gives weevil a blow job but weevil notes that somehow, in spite of this, logan retains the upper hand. this fic is world class and i am grateful everyday for it
theohara, “Broken Toys,” NC-17, Pre series AU
One glance across a street saves Lilly Kane’s life. It changes everything; it changes nothing.
Notes: This is the most heartbreaking Veronica Mars’ fanfic ever. I have such a deep love for it. It takes Lilly’s character and Logan/Veronica’s relationship to places I don’t ever think they would go and yet it works in this and it works so damn well. a truly devastating and beautiful au
fluffernutter8, “The Ninety Nine Percent,” Teen, Post Season 3 AU
Junior year of college, Logan gets some news that proves that no matter how hard he tries, life is just going to keep throwing him curve-balls. Post season 3, non movie canon compliant.
youcallitwinter, “gravity is gonna keep you tied down to this city,” Teen, Post Season 3 to TDTL
[your life in extended parenthesis] the lone neon nights and the ache of the ocean, and the fire that was starting to spark. From the love to the lightning and the lack of it.
Notes: please don't fall out of love with me, okay? don’t you dare give up on me. I DIE EVERY FUCKING TIME youcallitwinter is a force with all of her writings, but this one.......my god every single bit about it is fucking flawless
petpluto, “Of Scars & Consequences,” Teen, Post-series AU
Almost a decade in the future, Logan's still a little messed up. And Veronica's still a little closed off. They make it work.
julietbravo, “one brutal thing after another,” Teen, Pre-series to Season 1
These rich boys think they can get away with anything, don’t they.
querulousgawks, “there should be stars for great wars like ours,” Teen, AU
It’s gotta be some Alliance mind game, a holdover, the Operative’s last trick: Logan’s old secrets manifesting everywhere around them. Where are you, how are you doing this, he wants to scream, but he doesn’t know which ghost he’d be railing at.
SilverLining2k6, “Sometimes (You Can’t Make It On Your Own),” Teen, Season 1 AU
Silly Duncan stopped taking his meds. Now, one dead Fitzpatrick later, Logan and Veronica need to get him out of town. Too bad they hate each other.
SilverLining2k6, “Control,” Teen, Pre-series AU
Don’t you mess with a little girl’s dreams. ‘Cause she’s liable to grow up mean. Pre-series. Oneshot. - A twisted little tale of hate and revenge.
Notes: CONTROL!!!!! I love Control so much, it’s one of the first fics I ever read for the fandom and one of the finest. The Logan that exists in this is sooo good and his relationship with Veronica is deeply flawed & wonderful. M is in the process of writing a remix to Control (more in-depth emotion) and I for one am foaming at the fucking mouth every day about it.
nevertothethird, “Reunions,” Teen, Post Series AU
Sometimes it just takes a little longer to get things right. Two high school reunions and a birthday party should do the trick.
youcallitwinter, “you give love a bad name,” Teen, Season 2 AU
“Hey, did you guys know there was a sensitive poet-type hiding behind this hard exoskeleton of expensive alcohol and bitter cynicism?” In which Logan Echolls is, well, Logan Echolls.
scandalpants, “Something to Remember,” Mature, Post Series AU
Facing a separation, Logan and Veronica spend their last night together exchanging gifts.
Notes: I am always in a goddamn state about this fic. Logan jacking off in front of Veronica at her request? Yes, thank you please. thank you so much
leurocrystal, “Take Your Time,” Teen, Post Season 2
Keith doesn’t know how to look at or touch his daughter for the first time in his life.
petpluto, “We Are Nowhere, And It’s Now,” Mature, Series AU
“You know there is another way of looking at this, Logan. If you’d still been together, you might be dead too." Logan and Lilly both die on October 3rd. But for Veronica, it’s not like they’re gone. And she still works to solve their murders.
absolutelyiris, “Delay,” Teen, Post TTDL
Logan reflects on his first Christmas with Veronica after a ten year separation, as well as how his life has changed with her absence.
New to vmficrecs:
Christmas in Arkham Author: dark_roast Pairing: Logan Rating: Teen Genre: Hurt/Comfort, A Really Good Hug  Setting: Season 2 Spoilers: 2.09, “My Mother, the Fiend” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 10128 Status: Complete Summary: Sequel to Fish Out of Water. Logan spends christmas with his grandparents.  Notes: This is, full stop, my favorite Veronica Mars fanfiction ever. I am so protective of this fic that part of me doesn’t even want to give it a formal place on the blog, which is ridiculous because I’m sure plenty of people have already read it and obviously it’s so good that I want people to read it but....this belongs to me, somehow, like I feel like it’s mine that’s how much I love it. ANYWAY possessiveness aside-- Every word, every sentence, every punctuation mark in this fic is perfect, devastating insight into Logan’s character. Absolutely beautiful and wonderful and every other good thing.
The Teeth by the Shoulder Author: ghostcat Pairing: Fab Four, Logan/Lilly, Veronica/Duncan  Rating: Teen Genre: Friendship, Angst  Setting: Pre-series Spoilers: 1.01, “Pilot”  Chapters: 3 Word Count: 17273 Status: Complete Summary: Two couples, two friendships. The Fab Four in three Octobers. Notes: WE’VE NEVER FUCKING RECOMMENDED THE TEETH BY THE SHOULDER BEFORE?????? HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE OH MY GOD jesus this is one of the greatest fanfictions ever written. three pre-series explorations into the fab four friendship and it is impossibly good. i am especially in love with the logan/lilly in this fic (the first chapter!!!!) and as always special care is given to exploring the logan + veronica dynamic. the third chapter will break your fucking heart so bad in the best way
Seven Times Logan Echolls Went to Jail Author: sowell Pairing: Logan/Veronica, Veronica/Piz  Rating: Teen Genre: Angst, Romance, Logan Echolls is a Little Shit   Setting: (Post) Season 3 AU  Spoilers: 3.12, “There’s Got to Be a Morning After Pill” and 3.16, “Un-American Graffiti”  Chapters: 1 Word Count: 6701 Status: Complete Summary: Who thinks Logan behind bars is sexy? I do, I do! // Logan goes to jail and calls Veronica to bail him out. Again and again and again and again.  Notes: WE HAVEN’T DONE THIS BEFORE EITHER???? oh my god!! I remember finding this one a few months before the movie came out and i would just lay in bed in the dark and re-read it endlessly. and then i left it alone for a few years and when i went back to it holy shit it undid me all over again. perfect logan and veronica relationship. p e r f e c t!!! i firmly believe this is exactly what shape their relationship would’ve taken if veronica hadn’t cut and run
Love is Just a Four-letter Word Author: bigboobedcanuck Pairing: Logan/Veronica, Keith, Weevil  Genre: Angst, Hurt/Comfort Setting: Future AU  Spoilers: 1.12, “Clash of the Tritons”  Chapters: 1 Word Count: 1753 Status: Complete Summary: Set a few years down the road from high school. Logan hits rock bottom. Keith and Veronica help him back up. Notes: Lynn’s body turns up and it is fucking DEVASTATING. A short piece that’s told from Keith’s POV (anyone who knows me knows how much of a sucker I am for Keith + Logan interaction) and holy hell Logan is so good in it and I think about it all the fucking time
Serendipity  Author: TheLastGoodGoldfish  Pairing: Logan/Veronica, Veronica/Piz, Carrie, Gia, Stu Cobbler, Ensemble Genre: Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Detective-ing  Setting: Post Season 3  Spoilers: 3.20, “The Bitch is Back” and The Movie  Chapters: 4 (out of a planned 6, fingers crossed!!!) Word Count: 59763 Status: Complete Summary: During her sophomore year at Hearst, Veronica takes on your run-of-the-mill blackmail case: the clients hate her, the evidence is impossible to destroy, and her ex turns out to be a bit of a distraction, but Veronica is a sucker for a damsel-in-distress. Even if the damsel is an intoxicated, pissed off Carrie Bishop. Notes: I AM HIGH PITCHED SCREAMING. Transplanting the movie plot to this timeframe works tremendously and TLGG’s execution is fucking perfect. Carrie is a powerhouse in this fic and god, Logan is such a honey it in which is why it is being recc’d for him. Him practically letting Carrie move in with him and doing his damnedest to protect Carrie and Gia (much to Veronica’s chagrin) is so, so important to me and I love him so much.
The Phenomenal Pixie - Interlude #1 - “Bugs”  Author: TheLastGoodGoldfish Pairing: Logan/Veronica, OC’s  Genre: Humor, Fluff, Logan and Veronica Are Smarter Than You  Setting: AU (Season 3)  Spoilers: uhhh n/a Chapters: 1 Word Count: 5072 Status: Complete Summary: Dating a superhero poses a unique set of challenges. Notes: Tiny sequel to The Phenomenal Pixie which you absolutely must read first (and is recommended above) because it’s a fucking delight. Logan is incredible in this fic and I would die for him, like always. The part where Steve can sense Logan is thinking about punching him in the face-- a million chefs kisses.
The Medusa Jewel  Author: TheLastGoodGoldfish Pairing: Logan/Veronica  Genre: Established Relationship Bliss, Fluff  Setting: MKAT Spoilers: MKAT  Chapters: 1 Word Count: 5336 Status: Complete Summary: Logan and Veronica's new neighbor is a writer. Notes: is my TLGG obsession shining through? good because it fucking should be. The Logan/Veronica in this relationship is so sweet and perfect and is 100% my reality and i would like to bathe in this fic and live in it forever as is my right.
Drowning Together Author: bryrosea Pairing: Logan/Veronica Genre: Romance, Hurt/Comfort Setting: Season 3 Spoilers: 3.07, “Of Vice and Men” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 897 Status: Complete Summary: AU of the confrontation scene from 3x07: Of Vice and Men (Logan and Veronica both need a hug) Notes: Absolute wonderful insight and even some reconciliation into a canonical season three fight. Logan calming down while Veronica falls apart as they hug is so important to me.
Interrupt Us  Author: bryrosea Pairing: Logan/Veronica Genre: Romance,  Hijinks, They Want To Fuck So Bad  Setting: Post TDTL Spoilers: through TDTL  Chapters: 1 Word Count: 17223 Status: Complete Summary: Logan Echolls is home from deployment. Time to cue the sweeping movie montage, right? Notes: Logan and Veronica try to have sex everywhere and it is my life force. The car scene when they get pulled over and Logan instinctively hiding under Veronica’s desk....god i love everyone in this bar
Ready to Go Author: Amberina Pairing: Logan/Duncan; Veronica  Genre: Friendship, Romance, Angst Setting: Post Season 1  Spoilers: not obvious but 1.22, “Leave it to Beaver”  Chapters: 1 Word Count: 6346 Status: Complete Summary: "Let's leave. Let's go. What's left in Neptune for us anyway?" (AKA Duncan, Logan and Veronica have wacky adventures on the road! Also angst.) Notes: Logan getting hissy and storming off from the car while Duncan and Veronica just watch him and then calling a taxi once he’s out of their sight is PEAK logan. I love boyfriends, even if they’re angst-ing in this, and they big time are.
Nashville On My Mind Author: hjcallipygian Pairing: Logan, Veronica, Duncan Genre: Friendship, Hijinks  Setting: Post Season 1 AU Spoilers: 1.22, “Leave it to Beaver” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 1659 Status: Complete Summary: Every year, they take a road trip together. This year, it's to Nashville, Tennessee. Notes: i just spent forty minutes trying to find this fic to the point where i was genuinely concerned i had hallucinated it. it’s so fucking good. a sequel/prequel of sorts to grand canyon by sadiekate (recc’d in the previously section). logan is a mess and by god do i love him
Six Times Logan Echolls Got Wet Author: bryrosea, CarolineShea, ghostcat, kmd0107, marshmallowtasha, SilverLining2k6 Pairing: Logan/Veronica Rating: Teen Genre: Romance, Friendship, Hijinks Setting: Everywhere Spoilers: All series to MKAT  Chapters: 6 Word Count: 11568 Status: Complete Summary: aka: The Wet Henley ChroniclesSix stories in which we probably give Logan Echolls pneumonia, inspired by the movie's infamous wet henley. Set variously across the series and post-MKAT. Notes: each chapter is written by a different author, they’re all good but bryrosea’s chapter and silvery’s chapter are my favorites. set during the summer between season 1 & 2 and post season three respectively they do such a great job dealing with the fractious and tumultuous nature of Logan/Veronica’s relationship at the time and i love it so much
A Little Dysfunctionality Goes A Long Way  Author: fluffernutter8 Pairing: Logan/Veronica Rating: Teen Genre: ANGST with a side of fucking ANGST, happy ending but jesus   Setting: Post Season 3 AU  Spoilers: 1.22, “Leave it to Beaver”  Chapters: 1 Word Count: 2878 Status: Complete Summary: Despite their history, Logan and Veronica might be somewhere on the brink of normal. A few years post season 3. Notes: i just read this for the first time 07/13/20 at 9:08pm because when i asked shelby for her favorite logan fics she included this one. i am fucking dead now and-- there’s nothing else to say about it. i’m just fucking dead. for YEARS i have said that nobody with the username fluffernutter8 should be able to write shit this goddamn emotional and yet, time and time again, i find myself here fuckign wrecked and furious about it

is it 2013 again? cause i have a rant about teen wolf coming and i feel 16 y/o.
so due to dome heavy procrastination I've consumed a lot of teen wolf content, i skipped a bunch of episodes and a lot of scenes in the ones i haven't but i still have some Thoughts TM
it's good??? i had a Good Time watching, it was funny but intense and dark and i felt Feelings watching, some of the plotlines were meh (or maybe i just skipped them heh) but a lot were interesting and i loved the characters and their interaction
scott. my sweetheart. my baby. such a cutiepie, such a great protagonist 10/10 i love him and would die for him. he's so pure and cute and his little smile melts my heart. i love how he's fundamentally Human no matter how non human he is. he's a great character all around and i kinda wish they didn't do that shit to him at the end (imma get there) or treated him like he ISN'T the protagonist for such big parts of the shows
people KNOW. Stiles knows from day one, allison finds out soon, his mom finds out in season 2! the sheriff in 3, and they just become part of the gang and can help them with stuff bc they UNDERSTAND. shows like that get really tiring when the teens constantly lie to everyone around them and it was very refreshing. the running gag with the coach ruining things tho was funny and I'm ok with it.
Ok this is mellisa appreciation time. she's SUCH a great, complex and unusual mom-of-hero character. i absolutely love her and her attitude, i love how she's not simply being used as a tool to cause scott pain (just.. sometimes) and their relationship is parenting goals.
also isn't it fucking hilarious how she's a nurse but she just knows everything medical. she's also a surgeon and a mortician and a doctor. ik it's for plot reasons but it funny af.
in general women on the show.. had a lot of potential, i love them, but i hate how they were treated.
allison was all around great imo, her and scott's relationship was built very well and was two sided from the start (unlike... yeah), she has emotions, she's smart and brave, but also human and scared, she kicks ass and, again, exists outside of Scott's GF status (mostly). andddd they killed her. idk if the actress had to/wanted to leave or it was a pure writers decision bc they needed to keep just her father or something, but that would have been ok if not for all the other things
we have 3 main kickass ladies with powers- lydia, kira and malia. lydia spent close to FIVE whole seasons not knowing anything about her abilities/not knowing how to control them. cmon, it gets old. scott masters his powers after a season or two (and had control a lot sooner), parrish finds out what he is like half a season after it becomes relevant etc.
malia- do i need to explain? she was CONSTANTLY struggling controlling her abilities, no matter how badass she supposedly was. and kira oh boy, they did her dirty, didn't they?
kira was such a cute adorable character. i loved her and her little crush on scott and wanting to make friends and being freaked out about relationships, i love her discovering her past and heritage and learning to fight and gaining control and becoming a badass. but. what? they just undid all this? oh no the fox is taking over she has no control no agency of her own she needs to disappear for years now bye :( again, idk if the actress needed to leave but it was so unsatisfying and was insulting to the character. she wasn't even mentioned later a bunch like allison was, just they needed her mom for a plot tool and didn't even acknowledge it was her sword they were breaking. uhm rude?
LET WOMEN HAVE POWERS AND BE AWESOME WITH THEM. and not just minor/bad characters thanks.
i love the concept of a pack on the show and how you don't have to be a werewolf to be a part of it, how scott becomes a true alpha and how he cares about his friends. i kinda feel like in later seasons him being an alpha was more talk than show which like /: meh. like i said, he stopped BEING the main character, just talked about as if he was.
i love how friendship is valued, but i think it could be more.. i mean the scene in the motel, all season 3b, scott and lydia, all the girls with each other.. i love it. too many times tho it "wasn't enough" and only romantic love worked which SUCKS. in 6a i was so happy scott went in to try and remember stiles and the memories hit me right in the heart. then when it "wasn't enough" i was SO pissed and frustrated goddammit. i guess that leads me to the next point-
ships, should i talk about ships? i don't want hate in my asks but oh well it's been a few years maybe there's no fandom to care. I'll start with the end
malia and scott. what. the. fuck. when, out of fucking no where, they had like a lingering look or something i was just "nope. no thanks". and then every scene they had together i had to cover my eyes bc it felt so wrong and bad and awkward. jesus. no build up at ALL, they're like family, i just. ew. no. it felt way too much like "oh we gotta pair off the leftovers" or "the main character can't end up single" well guess what, he fucking can. it was. god. i can't even explain the disgust. when he needed to heal and all she had to do was kiss him ugh. it felt so fake and empty of meaning. i would 100% prefer for it to be stiles (I'll get there) or his mom who snapped him out of it.
melissa and chris, i could get aboard with that. def cute, def weird af since his dead daughter was dating her son but, well.
stiles and lydia is a ship i have conflicting feelings about. i absolutely hate the concept of "the nerd" is in love with the popular girl since freshman year and he's borderline being a creep ("oh but it's stiles! he's a dork and he's harmless" no.), completely obsessed with her and she ignores him but then they end up getting together.. i mean, it sends a bad msg to obsessed boys about how it's worth it in the end, and it makes the whole relationship feel unbalanced from the start, makes her reciprocation feel unatural. BUT, i have to admit the show did kinda make me warm up to this ship by the end, curse them. it was kinda cute. i wish there was more mutualness before it became such an important part in 6a tho.
just gonna put it out there: malia/kira and lydia/allison. i wish we saw more girl on girl interactions in general but the ones we had were very good, great dynamics.
i won't get too much into it but i.. i don't ship st*rek. i understand why they're the biggest ship (two white hot boys that interact with each other, i mean.), and i see the couple of fan service-y moments the show throws at us but just. they don't have my heart, i don't really care about them. not the characters, the characters i absolutely love! (tho this watch i skipped most of season 1 and 2 and 3a and i think that's where derek is the most asshole.. didn't he do really bad things? idr) idk if you want a bad character on the way to redemption with someone you should ship liam and theo who had way better shippy chemistry imo, even tho their ship probably wouldn't be healthy given their dynamic history, huh.
the ship that does owns my heart? scilies. I'm a softy when it comes to best friends to lovers, and their bond and relationship is just. so. pure. don't get me wrong, i love me a good platonic relationship, but there was just one to many homoerotic interactions between them for me not to ship it, hard. (not to be that person but my guess is that if Scott was white it would have been a way bigger ship, but who knows?) i love their love, i love they would do anything for each other, and i feel like there were a bunch of very missed opportunities for them in later seasons :(
so representation. this feels like a show that is trying to be Woke TM but it's not going so well. the main character is supposedly latino but it's never ever addressed. idc about "oh we want a world without prejudice" you can still fucking address it. i mean they went to Mexico a couple of times, stiles keeps saying "Mexican cousin" i mean. god. give us something. did i mention scott was told he'd make a great "nazi youth" ..
and you don't need to be a genius to see the most characters are very white or at least very white passing. and when you don't address their non whiteness they might as well be..
i already mentioned how poorly i feel kira was treated, but also mason, who is a wonderful character, gets no depth? we know nothing about him other than being gay and smart pretty much.
i also spoke about the women already but, they were really really great women characters, but not enough of them, not enough that lasted.
there's not much to talk about disability bc it just wasn't on the show. the only blind character was healed which. /: same with epilepsy and asthma..
i think the show is probably very proud (ha) with their LGBTQ+ rep bc they're like "oh let's make this insignificant couple gay bc hey nbg". examples are lydia's grandma, La Bete and marcel, i think nolan and jiang were exes and then nolan and gabe were a thing? idr if it was explicit. the couple of girls in the tent.. probably a couple more. it's nice, def better than all random couples being straight but that's not satisfying as rep.
Danny was great. i think he and ethan were.. cute? i think he was awesome, i loved danny so much and was very excited to learn he KNOWS at the end of season 3 and was waiting to see him join the pack. instead he fucking disappeared?! wtf. #WhereDidDannyGo
brett was cute rep, especially being bi but i feel like it could go into the insignificant pool which, again, is better than nothing.
mason and corey i just don't have strong feelings about. they were definitely cute and I'm glad they were together, i love mason A Lot. i think this relationship could be explored more, or at least the characters could be explored more to give this relationship more depth.
very interesting how there's no wlw canon couple, not even hinted. just fan servicey hot malia kira dance which /:
not to mention transgenderness. god can you imagine the interesting plotline of transitioning while being a werewolf 0:
i think the rep i was most happy about was ethan and Jackson. even tho i don't think there was build up or clues in the first couple of seasons, I'm happy for the actor who i know was struggling with coming out publicly, and it was very fun and refreshing for the ending. even if we got very few scenes with them the dynamic was 10/10
the biggest problem is obviously stiles. i just don't understand why, if they're so supposedly progressive, they went to that length to queerbait without following through. the whole gag of wanting to be attractive to danny and to gay guys, the whole "aww danny want to have sex with me that's so nice", the whole "do you like guys too?". it's a gag. his alleged bisexuality is the butt of a joke, and it pisses me the fuck off. they don't have to make it a big deal or have him get a bf for it to be official. it wasn't subtle subtext. it was a CHOICE. to put a spotlight on his sexuality but not deliver. -100/10 would not recommend.
also they could talk about his mental health more.
and about Scott's, please and thank you.
and everyone's.
i had some more feelings, like villains changing sides without getting a proper redemption and having no consequences, the wholesomeness of the sherriff and mellisa being each other's kids second parent eichen house (wtf??), and more, but i think i wrote enough for now.
tl;dr- good show with A Lot of problems, will always have a place in my heart bc I'm a nostalgic gal.

Title: Street Smarts!
Prompt: Locked In A Trunk
Fandom: How To Train Your Dragon
Pairing: None
Word Count: 1113
Rating: Teen
Warnings: Kidnapping, swearing, pepper spray
Disclaimer: I don’t own the source material in this fanfic. That’s to whatever company or person owns it. I would never claim to own it.
Notes: There are probable influences from fandom and whatnot in this story. I’m including @evilwriter37’s fic “A Night of Surprises” as influence. Also, I did make this post once, and kinda kickstarted me writing this when I remembered I had made it. Written for Bad Things Happen Bingo @badthingshappenbingo for the space “Locked In A Trunk”. There are direct references to John Mulaney: Kid Gorgeous at Radio City, including the title. Thanks to the folks at Great Hall of Whump discord (Vin, Lilly, @jayalaw) for suggesting a dark blue color for the car. This story is a modern AU, focused within Race to the Edge. This is also on AO3.
And it is under the read more.
Tumblr media
Ryker brought Hiccup to a stop in front of the open trunk of a dark blue sedan.
“You know, I wouldn’t have pegged you for a sedan kind of guy,” Hiccup said. “You seem more like the kind of guy who has a huge truck.”
 “Shut up,” Ryker growled.
“Do you have a huge truck?” Hiccup said, attempting to needle him.
 “Shut up!” Ryker exclaimed.
He stuffed a big piece of fabric into Hiccup’s mouth, and then pushed him roughly into the sedan’s trunk.
Hiccup didn’t have much choice of how he landed, given that his arms were behind his back, but he was able to unfortunately watch as the lid closed and he no longer saw the light of day.
 Fuck.
Maybe he should have brought Astrid with him when he went grocery shopping for the gang. Ryker running into him in the snack aisle of all places lead him to being abducted from a fucking grocery store in fucking broad daylight. He hoped the grocery store had good security cameras. Or that someone saw this happen.
He spit out the fabric from his mouth.
It’s not like Ryker tied it around his mouth.
“What was the thing Mulaney said?” Hiccup muttered to himself, referring to comedian John Mulaney by his surname for some reason. Hiccup said to himself, “Street Smarts!”
Hiccup wracked his brain, trying to remember the set in particular.
“Something about punching out the taillight?” Hiccup said to himself. “Yeah, that sounds like a plan.”
He kicked out his legs, seeing if they would land on the walls of the trunk.
His prosthetic hit the side, which, wasn’t really where the tail light was, but at least he could do it.
 Okay, hmm.
He pulled his legs closer to his body, so he was essentially in the fetal position.
The trunk, while a confined space, was large enough that he could move his body around, though he still had to deal with his arms being tied behind his back.
He was about to readjust his body so he could kick in the general direction of the tail lights, when his phone rang.
Ah! That’s great! He still had his phone with him! Of course, he couldn’t quite get to it because it was in his pocket, but his phone was with him!
It was in his back pocket, so he figured, yeah, he was going to butt answer. He adjusted himself again, moving his butt briefly off the floor and then back down onto the phone. The phone stopped ringing but Hiccup took that as if he answered, “Whoever is calling me, I’m in Ryker Grimborn’s sedan, it’s a dark blue Volkswagen Jetta, late model. He kidnapped me.”
He tried listening as carefully as he could, to see if the person on the other side of the phone was responding to him or not. The Jetta did not have a particularly loud engine (it was actually quite quiet), but the car was in motion after all. And the phone was not at his ear, and it was not in his hand, and it was really a toss-up if he answered the phone or if he rejected the call. He had to hope that perhaps he did answer.
And that if the Riders suspected something was off, even if he hadn’t answered, they would use the GPS tracker on his phone. Astrid and Fishlegs had been fairly adamant (and annoying, as Snotlout had said) about them having that on their phones.
So, he decided to adjust his body to kick at the tail lights again, hoping to perhaps kick them open, and maybe get the attention of nearby motorists. Broken tail lights are a cause for concern.
He focused his attention on the left side of the trunk (which, technically from another perspective was the right side) and started to harshly kick at the trunk sides, as hard as he could, using his prosthetic, hoping that since it was metal, it would do the most damage.
He heard the rip of carpet, and that was satisfying.
After a brief pause, he kicked harshly again, grunting as he did so.
A couple of more kicks. And then he heard the break of the tail light. Good. A glance at that part of the trunk, and he could see a bit of daylight trying to make its way through.
 Success!
Hiccup felt thankful he had watched that comedy special with John Mulaney.
Of course, he was still locked in the trunk though.
Sometime later, Hiccup was not sure how much time had passed since he had been kidnapped, but the only time the car had stopped had been for brief moments that Hiccup had assumed were for traffic lights. But this time, the car stopped and he heard the sounds of dragons outside of the car.
He yelled out, “Hey!” hoping that he could be heard, while also hitting the sides of the trunk with his prosthetic.
A few moments later, the trunk opened.
 Ah, there they were.
 His Dragon Riders.
He couldn’t see Astrid, but he could hear the sounds of someone punching flesh, and Ryker groaning, so he assumed she was nearby. But he could see the rest of them.
 “Gang!” Hiccup exclaimed, happily.
“Fishlegs, get him out,” Snotlout said. “I gotta help Astrid.”
 And he disappeared from view.
Fishlegs had begun to reach in when Hiccup heard another sound of punching flesh.
Hiccup, remembering that his legs weren’t tied, moved around in the now open trunk into a position where he was on his knees, facing a side of the trunk so that Fishlegs could untie his arms with ease.
Once his arms were untied, Hiccup carefully started climbing out of the trunk, with the help from Fishlegs and the twins. It felt nice to hold their hands.
Hiccup was about to ask a question when he heard Astrid say: “Snotlout, go back to Hiccup.”
A pause. “Oh, shit,” Snotlout said.
Snotlout returned to Hiccup’s view, and a moment later he heard Ryker yell out in obvious pain.
 “Pepper spray,” Snotlout explained.
“I’m going to have to buy you some,” Astrid said, coming into view, holding the pepper spray visibly.
“Fair enough. So, did you guys use the GPS tracker app?” Hiccup asked. “Also, I got a call, and I have no idea if I answered or not.”
“The call was why we used the GPS tracker app,” Ruffnut said. “I called you. You answered.”
“So, butt answering works,” Hiccup replied.
“LOL,” Ruffnut said, spelling the letters out while Tuffnut chuckled.
“Is Toothless still at home?” Hiccup asked.
“Yes,” Astrid replied. You ready to go home?”
 “Absolutely,” Hiccup responded.

To read the previous part, click here and for the complete Masterlist, go here.
A/N: I am so sorry this has once more taken so fucking long but things happened and then more things happened and then word and my computer crashed and I had to rewrite like a lot so here we are.
Anyway, thank you guys so much for all the sweet comments and messages and asks, I appreciate them all so much, I appreciate you guys so much.
This has a word count of 3,000 ish words just for your information and there are descriptions of anxiety, however there is also some fluff in here that’ll hopefully make up for the little kind of angsty parts.
Enjoy!
Tumblr media
A pregnant, solemn silence took over the losers as they held the shower caps in hand, thoughts of Stan flooding each of them uncontrollably. Memories of the first time they admired Ben’s hard work that he told them was nothing. Remembering Richie and Eddie fighting over the hammock, even the smoke-hole ritual didn’t seem nearly as far away anymore.
Ben was sitting with Y/N, animatedly telling her about how much effort he had put into the small club house. Her eyes travelled over the construction, a wondrous gaze raking over the dusty items, the faded posters, the carvings and blemishes that the place had endured over the decades.
“This is fucking incredible.” She breathed. “You’re a genius”
Ben chuckled, tearing his own eyes away from what he had created at such a young age to look at the girl next to him. He, like many of the losers, hadn’t really taken the time to look at her. She didn’t look much like Richie, possibly she took after her mother more look-wise, but the way she talked, the way she acted, the swearing, the messy hair, were so much like her father, it was almost scary. Like a female version of teenager Richie had gotten lost in Derry ages ago, but never aged. Ben’s eyes fell onto a spider in the young girl’s hair, an involuntary grin spreading on his lips.
“What’s up Haystack?” asked Richie suddenly, effectively breaking the comfortable silence.
“Stan really was ahead of his time.” Ben replied, slowly trying to plug the spider away from the mop of hair on the girl. The girl shuddered when she spotted just what he was doing as the other losers chuckled. Those weren’t the happy, almost childlike chuckles Y/N had heard more times than not coming from the members. No. Those sounded broken and, although not watery, they were still thick with unshed tears. Tears they didn’t want to cry. Not again. Not out of disappointment or disrespect towards the man they grew up with, quite the opposite really. Remembering who he was as a kid also made each of them remember what a kind and compassionate soul Stan was. Smart, often acting more like an adult than a child, but the one thing that was crucial about Stanley was that he had reasons for doing what he did. Reasons he carefully thought about. So, although no one dared to speak, they knew that Stan had carefully thought about this and had a reason for doing what he did. They just couldn’t figure out said reason.
“Hey Mike, what are we doing here?” Richie spoke up, finally, diverting the attention, changing the painful topic to another dreadful one. One that scared each of them more than they would like to admit.
“The ritual. It requires a sacrifice.”
“As a sacrifice we can take Eddie.” Richie dryly said, motioning towards the smaller man who now looked at him in a state of shock and something Y/N would almost identify as fear.
“Wait what?” Eddie asked. As Ben, under his breath, mumbled ‘Peep-peep, Richie.’
“You’re little. You fit on a barbeque.” The taller man replied, making his daughter snort in shock. Ben ruffled up her hair at that, a smile on his lips at the sincere reaction of the teen.
“I’m average height in most countries.” Eddie waved Richie off, slightly offended at the comment. “Besides, why are we not sacrificing Y/N? She’s literally my height!”
“Because I still have hopes of growing taller, unlike you.” Y/N fought back, an incredulous smile on her face, trying to hinder the giggles bubbling up inside her from surfacing.
“It’s not that kind of a s-s-sacrifice.” Bill interrupted the bickering, much more serious than Y/N, Eddie and Richie had previously been.
“Your past is buried. But you have to dig it up. Piece by piece. And these pieces, the artefacts, that’s why we’re here. That’s what we have to sacrifice. And since Stan isn’t here to find his, I think that we should all be here together to find his artefact.” Said Mike, his voice dark, rough. Y/N knew that it was taking a toll on everyone to be back. How bad it was the first time around, she still didn’t know, but she was curious to find out.
Her eyes travelled to Eddie, shower cap in hand, then to the tin can on the ground, next to his feet. She got up from her seat next to Ben and moved to sit next to Eddie instead, following his thought, and fishing one of the caps out of the can.
Both of them pulled the caps onto their heads. They shared a glance. Then, their eyes landed on Mike.
“I think we just did that.” Replied Eddie and Y/N nodded along.
One after another, the losers plus one climbed out of the club house, Y/N being the last, gratefully taking Mike’s hand in support. Hastily, she took a few deep breaths, her airways silently thanking her for finally breathing in fresh, clean air. It wasn’t bad, but she had to admit that breathing in the dusty and musty air was getting quite exhausting and she rarely appreciated the cool air in a forest as much as she did in that moment.
“Okay so where do we find our artefacts?” Eddie asked, nervously pacing over the soft soil. Mike took another second, making sure that the girl he had pulled up was alright on her own before considering Eddie’s anxious figure.
“Yeah, I gotta be honest, man,” Richie started, scratching the back of his head, his lips pressed into a tight line, “all due respect, this is fucking stupid, alright? Why do we need tokens, alright? We remember everything. Saving Bev, defeating IT, I mean we’re caught up.”
“That’s not everything.” Mike tried to calm Richie, get him to admit that he didn’t know as much as he liked to say. There were still things Richie, like the other losers, didn’t want to remember. “We fought. But what happened after that? Before the house at Neibolt?”
Everyone was quiet for a moment. Y/N, not knowing how to feel, stood behind Mike, watching the scene unfold. The group looked dumbfounded for a moment, not even remembering the fight. Slowly, carefully, she strolled a bit away from the group, not wanting to interfere with a moment like that, with a moment as important as that one would be. Once more, she felt like she didn’t belong and she almost started regretting even suggesting as much as following her father to Derry. But what choice did she have? It was in those moments that she felt pitiful for herself, for the lack of a mother, a family. Of course, she was incredibly thankful for her father. She loved Richie dearly, but there were certain moments when she really needed a female adult in her life. Like when she had gotten her first period. Oh lord, how uncomfortable and awkward she felt that day. And how much it hurt to know that her mother had just left her, not wanted her any longer when she was just a baby.
How much it hurt knowing that she didn’t have grandparents like the other kids in class.
How weird she felt when the only family pictures she could bring to primary school while other kids brought pictures of themselves with their grandparents, with their aunts and uncles, cousins, siblings, whatever kind of family they had. She also remembered feeling shy in front of her father that day as she had to ask him about his parents for a homework assignment.
How lost she felt when Richie took her shopping for bras and other clothing. Richie did offer to ask one of his female friends to take her or ask her friends’ mothers to help her out, but Y/N refused. She would have felt even weirder going shopping for underwear with people she barely knew. Hell, she didn’t even want to take her friends in fear of being embarrassed.
The girl felt anxiety building up in her veins, her chest growing tighter, troubling her breathing. With nervous eyes, she searched for her father, who was vigorously shaking his head.
“I’m not letting her alone. I’m going to take my daughter with me.” Richie told Mike before stomping over to her, gently grasping her arms and making her sit down on a tree stump. Richie had noticed that his daughter was breathing unevenly, erratically. He was torn between staying and making a point to his friends and taking his daughter to a quiet place, away from all the trouble that caused her anxiety to skyrocket. The look she gave him was one he understood perfectly though. She didn’t want them to be alone.
“I gotta say… Statistically speaking, if you look at survival scenarios, we’d do much better as a group.” Eddie joined into the conversation, almost anxiously uttering his opinion. From the corner of his eye, he could see Y/N grasping her father’s arm tightly, eyes wide like a young doe, as she was fighting herself. None of the Losers dared to get close to her though, too afraid that Richie might lash out at them.
“Yes. Splitting up would be dumb, man. We gotta go together, alright? We were together that summer, right?” Richie looked to his friends in hopes of them agreeing with him, getting Mike to see how stupid his idea was. Eddie nodded in agreement and Richie got his hopes up. Until Bill spoke up.
“N-no. Not that w-whole s-summer.” And with that, they remembered the fight. They remembered how they physically had to separate Richie and Bill so they wouldn’t smash each other’s heads in, how they spent time separated from each other, each of them too stubborn to face what, deep down, each of them knew would be necessary.
“What happened?” asked Y/N, voice shaky, eyes innocently looking up at her father, then the other Losers. She had managed to calm down enough to speak, but she knew that she was still on the verge of breaking down. No one answered, each of them just let their gaze wander over the greens surrounding them. The trees started losing their leaves and they instead graced the ground, covering the soil in endless shades of red, yellow, orange and even a few brown spots.
“I’ll bring you back to the hotel, then get that stupid token.” Richie finally said, reaching out a hand to help his daughter, who suddenly seemed a lot smaller than she really was, up. Gratefully, she grasped it before sliding her hand up, trying to find some steadiness and comfort in grasping her father’s arm until they were out of what she felt was a danger zone.
The forest made her feel alerted. Something could be lurking behind every tree.
Behind every bush.
Behind every tree stump.
There was room to flee, yes, but at what cost? If they ran and were to be separated, she would easily fall victim to whatever IT was. Y/N didn’t know her way around and Richie wasn’t sure he still knew the place like he did when he was younger and spent almost every day of a whole summer lurking in the shadows, hiding away from the Bowers gang, making plans of how to kill IT and just enjoying the warmth of the summer that took not only his innocence, but also his friends’.
“I’ll join you.” Eddie spoke up, stepping closer to the leaving pair as each of the Losers awoke from their little trance, daring to move now that Richie accepted that he had to find his token on his own. Neither Richie nor Y/N said anything, instead, they started walking, hoping that they were somewhat on the track they had taken earlier to get to the clubhouse. Once they had reached the edge of the Barrens, however, the Losers wordlessly split up and went their own ways. Where to exactly, no one knew. They went wherever their feet, their subconscious brought them. Maybe it wasn’t even that. Maybe something bigger than each of them was leading them, something that they knew existed, but they couldn’t remember yet. It was irking them. Teasing them. Lost somewhere in the back of their minds with the rest of their memories of the last summer. About to burst through that thin layer of blissful ignorance, it just needed a little push to break through to the surface.
All of the Losers gave in and started their little journey through the place they grew up in. Well, everyone except for Richie, Eddie and Y/N.
“Eds, I appreciate your concern, but Mike said that we all have to do this on our own. You should get a head start, we all know your little legs slow you down.” Richie said, sluggishly joking around. He didn’t have the energy to make fun of his friend now. Not now that his heart was beating restlessly like a kid on Christmas morning and he knew that he had to leave his daughter, the only family he had left, to fend for herself.
“Don’t call me that. I want to be there for you two. She’s your daughter, that makes her a Loser by blood. Besides, I just wanna make sure that you don’t up and leave with her.” Eddie smiled at the pair and, with that, Y/N felt how her chest filled with warmth. She hadn’t ever known a family bigger than her and her father, but knowing that at least one more person, if not the whole Losers Club was right beside her, made her feel like she belonged. Like she had an identity, was a person important to something bigger than being your average high school student.
Y/N gave the man a warm, genuine smile. “I wouldn’t let him leave.”
“I know, little one. I know.” Eddie smiled back at her, laying a hand on her shoulder, not sure how affectionate he could be with the girl without it becoming weird. After all, she was almost like a new addition to the mismatched family of losers and he didn’t want her to feel left out just as much as he didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable or suffocated by the affection shown.
“Watch it, I’m going to outgrow you. There is still hope for me.” She smirked as they slowly started making their way to the hotel. Richie scoffed, hands in the pockets of his jacket.
“Don’t get your hopes up too high, squirt. I don’t think you’ve grown in the past six months and- “
“Fuck off, dad.”
“Don’t tell me to fuck off, without this smart mouth here, you wouldn’t exist.” Richie reminded both her and Eddie, making the pair cringe.
“Beep-Beep, Richie.” Eddie said as he felt himself shudder against his will. Only moments later, a harsh wind blew their way, sweeping the hair from their faces, creating ripples of shivers on their bodies.
“I think I’m gonna leave you guys alone. It’s not far anymore and I feel like I have to go elsewhere.” Eddie said, awkwardly mustering the father-daughter-duo.
“You’re not gonna make sure that I won’t run off with her?” Richie asked, confused at Eddie’s sudden change of plans.
“I trust you, Richie.” Eddie replied, lips twitching up into a playful yet shy smile. Y/N couldn’t hold back her grin at the gentle exchange between the men and watched happily as Richie stepped closer to the smaller, insecurity-ridden man, wrapping his arms around him in an almost therapeutic hug. Obviously, they hoped to see each other again later that day, but were they sure they actually would?
“Come here, squirt. Group hug.” Richie motioned for her, lifting one of his arms to give the girl room as Eddie nodded encouragingly. Joyfully, she complied and wrapped her arms around the two men, as far as they would reach.
“Stay safe.” Y/N whispered as she felt a sudden pull in her chest. It was unexpected, hit her out of nowhere and coating her in an uncomfortable cold. The uncertainty of the situation, the dangers connected to each of them going their own way finally caught up to her and, as it seemed, not only her. As the men heard the raw concern in her voice, they hugged her just a little closer and a little tighter in hopes of consoling her in some way.
“Don’t worry, I will. I’ll see you later in the library and all of us will be fine, alright?” Eddie replied, knowing that he wasn’t speaking the truth. He knew that splitting up was the most dangerous thing they could do. He knew that they might not all return to the library that day. He knew that IT was after them – and IT was seeking revenge. But he felt that, in that situation, it would be more important sugar-coating the whole situation and not worrying her too much rather than telling her about the actual risks of the situation.
“You two stay safe. I’ll be waiting for you.” Eddie told them as he pulled out of the comfort of their arms, leaving to go his own way, not knowing which horrors would be waiting for him as he would be looking for a simple artefact to sacrifice. Richie smiled, nodding a little, then laid a hand on his daughter’s back, pushing her forward. Not before she could wave to Eddie one last time though. Eddie smiled and nodded in reply.
The Tozier-Duo walked in silence for a bit. Until Y/N decided that she couldn’t stand the tension for another moment and decided to speak up with a question that she had been dying to ask for a bit now.
“What is it with you and Eddie, Dad? Have you always been this close?”

Friends Again CH 5
MASTER LIST found here
SUMMARY: A new dilemma has risen in Lydia that she takes to the only one she can talk to about it.
SOLIDARITY
B**TLEB*BES DNI
(TW mentions of J*no, mentions of murder(no murder tho), mentions of bullying, mentions of the wedding death scene)))
Another day of school, another day of Lydia having complex feelings bubble up in her stomach. This was getting borderline exhausting with all the thoughts she kept bottled up inside. Even though she had become more comfortable with her therapist, she still wasn't sure if she wanted to just spill her guts out about these thoughts. Closing the front door behind her, she swung her backpack off while exhaling a long groan. No one was home yet except for the Maitlands, of course. They were probably upstairs since she didn't see them after scanning the living room. Rummaging through her backpack on the table she pulled out things she needed for homework then sluggishly retreated upstairs. School wasn't engaging and often times left her yearning for more. The Maitlands had recently found a way to help make her learning more simulating through their ghostly powers. They were still learning themselves. They tried learning more from the Handbook for the Recently Deceased. However, as Adam put it, it 'read like radio instructions'. Lydia didn't have too much of a hard time understanding it personally. Though that probably was because she loved deciphering the nonsensical text.
Should she let the Maitlands know she's home?
She usually would announce herself. Yet, that feeling wasn't leaving her stomach. It dampening her mood. Lydia didn't want to bother the ghostly couple with her problem. Since she still didn't understand it entirely herself. It was days like these she wished her mom was still alive. Regret wove itself in her every once in a while for leaving the Netherworld. Missing her chance to reconnect with her mother again. She knew deep down it was for the best. She would've also liked it if Delia and her dad had waited for a while before getting wed. She understood though they felt the fleetingness of life and wanted to make the best of it as long as they both were breathing. That would be another can of worms for Lydia to tackle another day. Lydia tossed her things on her bed when she entered her room. Closing the door behind her then took off her shoes. Her nerves were starting to get the best of her when she walked over to her mirror and gazed at herself.
"Why are feelings stupid..." She muttered. Grabbing a hair tie off of her stand, she ran her fingers through the raven locks tying it up.
"That's because you breathers have too many feelings; It makes shit complicated." A gravely voice chimed in. Lydia flinched for a moment then turned to scowl at the older man.
"I told you that you couldn't come into the house yet!" She snarled at him. Lydia began rubbing the pads of her forefinger and middle in circles against the temple of her head. Beetlejuice snorted then crossed his arms.
"You ain't exactly the boss of me kid. I do what I want. Within reason of your dumb rules. Besides, I was bored waiting in the stupid cemetery. There weren't any breathers to mess with today so I couldn't get anyone else to say my name." Beetlejuice rambled on, giving Lydia a shrug. The young teen threw herself face first on her bed. She thought over for a moment how risky this was.
"You didn't let Barabara and Adam see you, right?" Lydia questioned, sitting up a little on her elbows. Beetlejuice hummed while pulling his eyes out from their sockets.
"Nope, not a peep!" He snickered while tossing them in the air like a pair of die. Lydia looked on unamused before rolling on her back to stare up at the ceiling. The demon popped his eyes back in.
"Oh boy, are you having one of those angsty teen moments again? Am I gonna have to leave while you recite goth poetry or some shit?" He floated up from the ground then whipped over to her. Lydia inhaled deeply before giving a loud groan.
"Go away if you're gonna be an ass." Lydia reached out for a pillow to grab. Beetlejuice tensed up as he knew it was meant for his face. He deflated a little when he saw her hug then bury herself against it. Just as the teen hated when he would get moody, he felt the same about her. Though it was strange, the past three months now that they've been hanging out he has started to feel something he never had before. Was it that gross thing called empathy? He sighed deeply while busying himself with picking at his nails. This was going to require some finesse.
"Alright, you twisted my arm Lyds. What's bugging ya? What can your ol' pal Mr. Betelboose do to, ugh, 'help'?" He peered from the corner of his eye to see if she'd budge. She did not. He did get a grunt in response. Some progress was a win for him. Lydia flailed her legs a little as a muffled groan rose from her. The demon patiently waited for her to speak.
"As bizarre as it is to say.." Lydia dug her fingernails into her pillow as she pulled it away from her face finally. Her features scrunched up, her lips pursed. Relaxing after a moment of what looked like deep contemplation from Beetlejuice's perspective she finally spoke. "I think you might be the only person I can talk to about this." Lydia softly spoke.
Now, this was interesting.
She was actually being vulnerable to him. He only saw her do that once and that was when she summoned him back from the Netherworld. That was because of everything that built up from before. This seemed to be a new dilemma on the young girl's mind. He waved his hand to let her know she could continue.
"Beej. When did you discover that you had feelings for guys, too?" Lydia drawled out while shiftily gazing around the room. Anywhere other than making eye contact. Beetlejuice stroked his scruffy chin while trying to figure out what she meant by that. Was there a boy she liked? Did his stoic bratty friend actually have sappy feelings as well?
Wait.
"You're asking how I knew I was into more than just women? Well, first off, there is one thing ya gotta know about the Netherworld. Most folks swing both if not all ways." Beetlejuice jokingly conjured up a baseball bat and took multiple swings in different directions with it. It earned him a snort which he grinned at before continuing.
"It kind of came as an easy realization for me. I know that the stupid shit you breathers go about here on the mortal plane carries off into the Netherworld sometimes. It doesn't stick for long cause who the hell are you gonna complain to? No one." He rolled his eyes remembering all of the bigoted folks that would come through and get their panties in a twist at how the rest of the Netherworld was. While he wasn't the biggest fan of staying there all the time it wasn't always horrible there. The world of the living was more of a party for him.
"How did you really know, though?" Lydia hugged the pillow closer to her while sitting up. Beetlejuice plopped himself onto the bed next to her. Lydia had a surprisingly smart melon in that goth head of hers. He was curious why she was doubting herself so much.
"Probably when I made out with that one famous painter." He picked at his teeth. Lydia arched a brow.
"Which one?"
"You know me, scarecrow, don't kiss and tell." He grinned at her. Lydia gently smacked his knee.
"Oh BS, you always name drop famous people." She snorted. Beetlejuice snickered, moving his hands behind him then slid back more on the bed.
"You're right, I just don't remember the guy's name right now. Listen. I guess I get it. I've been observing you breathers for almost a millennia. Feelings are gross. But I know when it comes to this stuff it can be hard. Especially for kids. If there's something ya gotta blab to me about." He tilted his head in her direction while making sure he had her attention. She gave a slow nod for him to continue, "Then I'm listening."
Lydia inhaled deeply. This was nerve-racking. She just didn't know how to even express herself.
"I... I might have." Lydia banged her head into the soft pillow and gave a small whine. "I might.. like a girl at school." She spoke barely above a whisper. Beetlejuice leaned over since he could barely hear her. Lydia wrinkled her nose at the smell yet allowed him to do so.
"What was that kid? Gotta speak up." He gave a coy smile. Lydia scowled at him then looked away.
"I said... That I might like a girl at school. I'm not repeating myself again." Her cheeks were heating up at how embarrassing this was. Not so much expressing her feelings. It was more talking about a damn school crush to her stupid demon friend she was starting to make amends with. She looked over to him after a moment of making sure he wasn't going to tease her then noticed him grinning wide.
"Yeah, that's what I thought you said. HA. Of course, you're into girls! Look at you, you're tiny, snarky all the time and goth." Beetlejuice yammered on as he elbowed her side.
"Ha-ha, is this amusing to you or something? I just spilled my damn guts out." Lydia frowned, her cheeks flushed. Beetlejuice shook his head.
"Eh, maybe a little, I just find it funny that widdle Lydia has a crush. Always figured you were too feral and hated people too much for that." He pinched her cheek. She was close to snapping her teeth at his fingers. She opted for batting his hand away. Lydia wiped her cheek with her sleeve. He snickered in response then rested his elbows on his knees.
"Call me 'widdle' again and I'll throw you off the roof as I did before." She stuck her tongue out at him then took note of him smirking at her. "What?"
"Nuthin'. Just weird seeing you actually act like a teenager instead of your usual dry, deadpan self." He patted her hard on the back to which she grunted at him. "Good for you! Better to be your real self than locking that shit away. Dolores and Chuck'll probably be. I don't know, what's that word you breathers use now? 'Woke'? About this. I know the Maitlands will be. Ugh, they are just soooo supportive it's disgusting." He gagged at his last sentence to which Lydia rolled her eyes.
"I don't know if I'm going to tell anyone. At least not yet." Lydia softly spoke as she played with the pillow resting in her lap. Beej quirked a brow at her then snorted. He gave a soft bap on her head with his fist.
"Listen. I don't normally give pep talks that aren't about scaring, murder or crap. I guess I can try to understand. Daphne might be too intrusive about it. Chuck might just be super awkward about it and say something embarrassing. The other nerds are definitely gonna dote on you." Beetlejuice picked at his teeth. "Eh, take your time if you wanna. Just know that the Netherworld when ya shed your meat-sack body is gonna be fine with who or what yer into. Fuck what anyone else thinks." He let out a long yawn then stretched a little. "Trying to be nice makes me wanna take a nap or doing something nasty. Or hurl. Can't decide, this is gross."
Lydia looked over the demon while taking note of his words. She snickered at him dramatically pretending to upheave then shoved him.
"Stop being gross for five minutes." Lydia snorted then sat back on her bed finally letting go of her pillow. "Honestly.. My stomach is in a knot still. Part of me kind of wants to tell her however I don't want people to.." Midway through Lydia trailed off into a soft whisper. "I just don't want more of a reason for people to target me at school. I can handle myself for the most part. Just kind of hard when they gang up on me." She tugged at the edge of her school uniform. Without skipping a beat Beetlejuice responded.
"Want me to kill 'em for ya? I mean, if they're that big of lil assholes I'd probably be doing their parents a favor." Beetlejuice grinned while taking out a knife from his sleeve. "I'll 'cut' them down to size!" He cackled while swishing the knife around. Lydia ducked down then snorted.
"No. Murder isn't the answer to everything, BJ. Those girls are jerks but they aren't the root of the problem. Kids don't naturally act like bigoted brats. It's probably coming from their parents or something, to begin with." Lydia grabbed his arm to make him stop swinging the knife. Beetlejuice clicked his tongue then thought over what she said.
"Alright. Kill the parents and the brats. Two for two-plus no sad little orphans!" Beetlejuice hovered off the bed in glee while throwing his arms up into the air. "It'll be a real scream Lyds! Just let me loose on 'em! Come on! I haven't killed anyone since Juno!" He flexed his fingers while looking to her like an overjoyed child in a candy store. Lydia raised her hand up with a shake of her head.
"Didn't I just say murder wasn't the answer to everything?" She answered dryly while quirking a brow at him.
"I don't know, you murdered me pretty fast to try and kick my ass into the Netherworld," Beetlejuice muttered. Lydia inhaled deeply through her nostrils then slapped his thigh with her pillow.
"I'm serious. No murdering people on my behalf. I appreciate the enthusiasm but I don't want the cops on me. Making people suffer is more fun anyway." Lydia dropped the pillow then stretched her legs out. Beetlejuice floated back down to the bed then gave a little pout.
"Bah. Thought you were more fun than that, kid. Though torture also sounds like a blast." He stroked his scruffy chin. The goth teen kicked her feet against the edge of the bed.
"I was thinking more about pranking." She chuckled. "You know.. I might try talking to that girl. Just not yet." Lydia lulled her head against her shoulder to peer back at the demon. "I hate to stroke that big ego of yours. I wanna tell you that I kind of appreciate you talking to me about this. It's nice to talk to someone else who is attracted to the same gender." She took out her phone then opened the browser.
"Plus I see myself as more than one gender. Though that's a topic for another time, kid." He waved his hand as a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Lydia swung her head up to stare at him.
"Oh; does that mean you're genderfluid?"
"Gender what now?" Beetlejuice quizzically stared at her while scratching the top of his scalp. Lydia quickly brought something up on her phone then showed him.
"You identify as more than one gender. See?" Lydia began scrolling through a website about the LGBTQ+ community while Beetlejuice crossed his arms and tried reading over it.
"Huh. Well shit. Guess so? Then what's being attracted to more than one gender?" He quickly snatched the phone out of her hand to look over it more.
"Well, that is a broader category. You could be either Bisexual or Pansexual." She sat up on her knees as she pressed the pad of her forefinger into the screen. Slowly she scrolled back up on the browser and pointed out the two. Beetlejuice hummed then plopped the phone back into her lap.
"Learn something new every day!" Beetlejuice grinned. The two froze when they heard the familiar voice of a woman echoing through the house.
"Lydia?? Are you home? We can get started on your homework if you want!" Barbara's hand began phasing through the door. With that Beetlejuice flung himself out the window as Lydia swatted grave dirt he left behind on her bed.
"Coming Barbara!" Lydia called.
She couldn't keep hiding him forever.

Terrible Things (You’ve Done)
for @gilajames 1000 - 1500 words
I would adore some fluffy Tony Stark/Victor von Doom werewolf/shifter fic. (With or without Doom still being a villain and doing what he *thinks* is fluffy, but requited love regardless.)
Title: Terrible Things (You’ve Done) Written by: @tisfan Square: G1 - Restricted Dog Breeds Rating: Teen Pairing: Tony Stark/Victor Von Doom Triggers/warnings: none Tags: werewolf AU, dubious sense of humor, first time shapeshift Created for: @bannedtogetherbingo2020 Word count: 1362 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/24530134
Summary: Tony Stark is out of time... and he’s done terrible things... Restricted Dog Breeds: the piece that was banned for this discussed information about the dog in question, which are illegal in that township. I thought it would be a cute tongue-in-cheek if this pertained to lycanthropy, which would probably be illegal if anyone believed in werewolves.
Twenty seven days and twelve hours later.
“You can’t be serious, Tones,” Rhodey said. He wasn’t quite blocking the door, but it was getting close to that. He meant well, Tony was sure of that, because Rhodey always meant well, but just this one time--
“Honeybunches, you gotta trust me,” Tony said. “Contrary to what everyone thinks, I know exactly what I’m doing.”
“You have no clue what you’re doing,” Rhodey muttered, but at least he got out of the way. Which was good, Tony could feel in his bones that he didn’t have much time left.
He was out of options.
Von Doom was his only hope, and that was terrifying. And yet, the alternative was worse.
“Let me go with you,” Rhodey said, catching his elbow. “If-- Tones, I don’t trust this guy, you can’t trust him.”
“I know,” Tony said. “But if it all goes wrong, I don’t want you anywhere near that shit show. Tell Pepper I’m sorry.”
“Yeah, you gonna be sorry,” Rhodey said, dragging Tony into a bone-crushing hug. Or it would have been, Tony thought, if he hadn’t been changed. If there wasn’t something else new and alien inside his body, just waiting for its chance. He could smell Rhodey’s human odor, the way his skin felt under the press of Tony’s face, the way his heart beat. Enhanced, animal senses; he was a predator in a herd of sheep.
It was utterly terrifying.
And yet, Tony knew the longing to shed his clothes and run free.
Run with me.
“Gotta go, prickly pear,” Tony said.
The motorcar was already started in the drive, Jarvis would have seen to that, turned the crank and made sure the steam engine was fully pressurized. Tony had discovered only a few weeks back that a horse would have nothing to do with him, now. He’d nearly caused an accident the first time, the horses panicking and nearly killing his driver, Happy, in the process of rearing and kicking until the carriage wasn’t much use for anything aside from kindling.
The way was smooth, at least.
Von Doom was many things, probably more myth than man these days, but one of them was a lover of progress.
The roads were paved all the way from the city below to his castle.
That said, the motorcar wasn’t made to drive up a mountain, and it took Tony hours to get there.
The sun was setting and Tony was panting for breath, fighting with everything in him not to-- whatever it was that he was going to do.
He barely remembered the parking brake, dashing from the motorcar to the front entrance of Von Doom’s castle.
Maybe he was expected; the door opened under his hand, and Doom was there, green cloak swirling in the evening breeze, that steel mask showing nothing of the man underneath, no emotion, no surprise, no nothing.
No mercy.
The moon peeked out from the horizon, and Tony felt the change shift in his blood.
There was no time.
*
When Tony woke up the next morning, he felt only moderately horrible. A three of ten on the hangover scale. The room was dimly lit, which was good, and he was laying on something that rather resembled a large dog bed, and he assumed that was bad.
He wasn’t dressed, either, which was pretty uncomfortable.
Despite his expectations, his hands weren’t drenched in blood -- although he did have a few feathers clinging to his skin, and his fingers and toes were filthy.
He shivered again, trying to figure out where the hell he was.
Scrubbed his hands over his face; fingers came back flecked with dried blood. And there was a heavy, leather collar around his neck.
Right. This was really, really bad.
A moment later, the door opened and he caught a glimpse of a metal sabaton, pushing a basket into the room. The door closed with a boom.
His nose, still wolf-sharp and sensitive, told him there was food in that basket. Eggs and toast and sausage and bacon and steak and berries. His stomach, not really caring all that much about his emotional state, growled.
He edged forward cautiously. He wasn’t sure what he was being careful of. That someone would come in and attack him, or that he would attack someone else.
He didn’t feel crazy, but he also couldn’t remember what had happened, the night before.
There were clothes, too. Soft, clean. Tony pulled them on. At this point, anything was better than being naked and vulnerable.
At someone else’s mercy.
He was just settling in for breakfast when the door opened again.
This time, Doom swept in, a few of his identically clad servants behind him, one carrying a bucket  and some towels, the other carrying a chair, which he sat in front of Tony and then Doom sat down in it.
“You’ve done terrible things, Mr. Stark,” Doom intoned.
Tony looked down at his hands. “Just tell me,” he said.
“First, you were completely disorderly, and got into the chicken coop. You’re just lucky that the rooster chased you out before you could eat more than two of my best layers, otherwise I couldn’t have any eggs for breakfast,” Doom said, and he flipped up his metal mask, looking at Tony with the same disapproval that people reserved for misbehaving children.
Well, somewhat less disapproving than Howard had, since Doom didn’t really look ready to take a fresh-peeled switch to Tony’s backside.
“And you chewed up my best leather slippers, I’m quite put out. Also, you shed all over the sofa. Do you ever brush your hair? Further, you got into the midden heap. Trash, everywhere! What am I supposed to do with you, Stark? You’re like a badly trained puppy. It’s disgraceful.”
Tony’s mouth dropped open, all the muscles in his jaw refused to work.
Finally-- “What?”
“What did you expect,” Doom continued. “You don’t even know who bit you, it’s not like you’ve been initiated. Can’t expect perfect behavior out of your wolf when he’s got paws the first time. It was smart, coming here. I didn’t expect that, but I approve.”
“I didn’t hurt anyone?”
Von Doom rolled his eyes. It was surprising, really, how attractive Doom was. Tony’d heard the legends his whole life of how the man had gotten a trifling cut on his face when he was a boy and sealed the metal mask over it, still hot, to hide from the world.
There was only the thinnest scar on one cheek, and it didn’t make him ugly. As a matter of fact, he was quite handsome, with silvering hair and amber colored eyes.
“They’re still telling that ridiculous story?” Von Doom said. “No, werewolves don’t eat people. They don’t track down their loved ones to rip out their intestines, and they don’t become mindless monsters.”
Tony held out his arm where the bite -- now a simple pink impression of teeth, fading. Soon it would be gone, he thought -- had been. “And then how do people become werewolves?”
“Bad luck, usually,” Doom said. “Look, don’t let me keep you from breakfast and then I’ll let you have a bath. Tonight, you’ll meet the were who made you, have your initiation. Meet your pack. It’ll be easier, after that.”
“Who made me?”
“He didn’t mean to,” Von Doom said, not meeting Tony’s eyes. “He was hunting, and you struck a creature with your carriage. Do you remember?”
“I thought it was a--” Tony blinked. He’d thought he’d hit a man, at first, that had staggered, drunk, into the road.
The thing in the ditch was no man, and had lashed out violently.
“You thought it was a man,” Von Doom said. “And so it was.”
A strange, sudden knowing filled Tony’s chest. “Who?”
Von Doom swallowed and looked at him. “I would have thought you’d have guessed. He’s me.”

(Summary: Eddie finds his father's best-kept secret. Richie gets some well-awaited news. )
Previous Chapter // Next Chapter
~
He travelled about an hour northwest, he continued away from the ocean and deeper into the forest. At times it was almost too thick, but he kept going. The sun had begun to rise when Eddie stumbled upon a sign, 'Welcome To Derry'. He glanced down at his map, so close. And he was close. It took the boy a while to square in on the exact coordinates, but once he did, he knew he'd found his father's secret.
It was a house and a big one at that. It stood tall on the outskirts of the city. Far enough out that he could be one with nature and the residents of Derry wouldn't be a bother. Eddie stood in front of the house and let out a sigh laced with excitement and fulfillment. The moment he stepped onto the property he felt it, he felt the magic of a protection spell wash over him.
Smart one dad...
The bunny looked around and he could practically see it, a forcefield of magic surrounded the house. It also made the house seemingly invisible to anyone that wasn't deemed worthy, which made sense, considering humans never wondered why there was a random house no one owned.  By the way it simply let Eddie pass through, he assumed it was a blood spell. Meaning it only allowed those of the bloodline to pass through or anyone deemed worthy by the one who set the spell, or whoever it was passed onto. With that, he removed the beanie that sat on his head, allowing the cool spring breeze to flow through his hair and tickle his ears, it felt nice.
Well I guess this is mine now
He smiled happily at the house that stood before him. The house was surprisingly fairly clean, the same way all the nature in The All Lands was always kept at bay, magic. Yes, there was some dirt, dust and cobwebs, a broken window even, but it was nothing that Eddie hadn't dealt with in the past. As he walked through the house, he couldn't shake the familiar feeling that he wasn't alone. Somewhere, somehow, he knew his father was with him. Just being in the house-made him feel so much closer to Frank than ever before, with his hat, compass, and now the house.
Eddie did a quick walkthrough of the house. The main floor had the essentials, kitchen, living room, dining room and washroom. The upstairs had 3 bedrooms and a washroom. Eddie quietly placed his bag down on the bay window in the room at the front of the house. He liked the bay window and the bed seemed comfy, a little dusty but nothing a good cleaning won't fix. There was also a basement but Eddie got the chills just looking down the stairs, so he closed the door and decided to check it out another day.
As the bunny stood in the kitchen and admired his new house, he debated where to sit before he hoisted himself up and onto the counter. From there he sat and listened peacefully, the house settling, the birds chirping outside and the odd gust of wind that blew by. He stayed like that for a while, in complete harmony with his surroundings.
Suddenly his leg twitched, something that wasn't rare, but also not a coincidence. A moment later he felt that same twitch vibrate through his entire body. He hopped off the counter and shook it off. Quickly, he tried to calculate how long it's been since he last shifted.
Maybe a couple of days? I've been pretty preoccupied with the council on my back, but still, I've gotta go and fucking run free or something.
This will be good. It's a new town anyway, so I might as well go do some exploring...
With the plan already laid out in Eddie's head, he marched out of the house and gave it one last look before continuing out onto the front lawn. He found a good spot where the grass wasn't too long and he still had a good view of the road to town.
Being a hybrid has its perks for sure, but being half-animal didn't simply mean you had ears and a tail, there was also the shift. Every hybrid could do it, they need to do it. It's like the animal that resins deep within their soul must be let loose every couple of days, or else it begins to get restless, that's when their animalistic side tends to show. This results in humans creating myths like werewolves and vampires, to explain what was happening to the Ancestors who couldn't show their true colours.
Although the shift isn't what the humans made it out to be, well not for Eddie at least. He's never met a werewolf so he can't really ask if it's the same but he's heard enough stories to know that it's not as gruesome as humans believe it to be. Anyways, for Eddie, his shift is simple.
The teen began by crouching down, low to the ground and getting a feel for the earth beneath him. Followed by the tingle, the same one that you see when a bunny's nose twitches randomly, that tingle. It starts off in his nose, then the feeling washes over his entire body. Yes, there is some pain since the guy is literally shrinking and growing white fur. But there's a magical essence to it that allows the last little part to simply be overtaken by a quick glowing light. Once the light disappeared, there sat Eddie Kaspbrak, who was now in the form of a small white rabbit.
~
Richie Tozier bolted upright in bed. His entire body was shaking with a feeling he'd never experienced before. His skin was covered in a layer of sweat which caused his curly hair to matt to his forehead. The boy tried to get out of bed but failed as his legs were tangled up in his sheets. After mentally cursing out Sleeping Richie, Awake Richie began to tug his feet free from their silky prisons. Just because his feet were free didn't mean he still wasn't a 6-foot tall clumsy mess, because the moment he set his foot down on the floor and began to stand, a wave of nausea washed over him. Richie fell to his knees, dizzy and confused; he looked down at his hands which were swaying back and forth in a blurry haze. Quickly he reached for his glasses on his nightstand and slapped them on his face, but that only made the nausea worse. Finally, he caved and ran to his washroom and fell to the floor in front of his toilet just in time because he immediately began throwing up everything he'd eaten the day before.
After the vomiting stopped, Richie sat on the floor of his washroom and let the cool tile floor beneath him soothe his overheating body. He tried to remember everything he ate the day previous, attempting to pinpoint the substance that had poisoned him. With no luck, Richie flushed the toilet again for safekeeping and trudged back into his room. He looked over at his alarm clock and saw that it was 8 am on Saturday. Usually, Richie would still be in bed for another 3 hours or so before waking up, but after that incident, he didn't think he'd be able to fall back asleep. So he opted to get an early start on the day.
Of course, Wentworth and Maggie Tozier were already awake and in the kitchen, fixing breakfast and discussing their plans for the day ahead. Only did they stop when their son cleared his throat a little too loudly from where he stood at the entrance of the kitchen. When Wentworth saw his son he froze in his stance, "SHH! Maggie, shhh" He put a finger to his lips and shushed his wife, "I think we just stumbled upon the elusive Richard, darling we haven't seen one of these in ages. Do you know how rare they are?" he asked in astonishment as he spoke in an Australian accent. (It's his Bear Grylls impression)
"Ahaaham funny" Richie deadpanned as his dad dropped the act. "Son! Good to see you up so early, what's the special occasion? Are your friends coming over? Wait, crap is it Christmas?" His jaw dropped suddenly, "Shit... It's your birthday isn't it?".
This actually received a subtle laugh from Richie, his dad always put him in a good mood. "Wentworth gets off a good one” Richie chuckled, “Don't worry dad you're in the clear. But uh- I did do something" He began, unsure how to tell his parents he just puked up his lungs in the upstairs bathroom.
Maggie's brow scrunched together slightly as she took a step towards him, "Are you okay Richie?" her head tilted slightly.
"Y-Yeah... Well, I think so"
"You think so? What happened?" Maggie questioned and began inspecting her son.
"I threw up. But not like- a little, like a lot. Like a lot a lot-"
"We got it Rich" Went's lips were pressed into a thin line as he stopped his son from digging himself into a deeper hole.
"Honey, what happened?" Maggie moved to put one hand on Richie's shoulder and the other on his forehead to feel his temperature, "no fever...".
"I-I don't know" He sounded almost defeated, his eyes stayed on the floor as he continued, "I'm nauseous and sweaty and I feel like my bones are just gonna fucking jump out of my body-"
Went cut in, "Language" with a half-hearted tone.
"I don't know what's wrong with me" Richie finished, finally he looked up to see his parents sharing a knowing glance. It was like they were having a conversation with their eyes, no words were said but Maggie and Went both knew what the other was thinking. "What? What's going on? You two meddling kids better tell me what's up or else I swear to god!" Richie had subconsciously slipped into one of his various voices as he pretended to scold his parents.
"Do you want to or?" Maggie asked Went as she motioned to the two.
"I can do it" Went confirmed as he turned his attention back to his son. "Rich, I know we've talked to you about this before and you're ready for this, we know you are, so don't worry okay? Everybody's first full moon is always a big occasion and it'll really be-".
"MY FIRST FULL MOON?" Richie gasped, his eyes had doubled in size as he stared at his parents in shock, "No way! What? Really?" He asked eagerly, "How are you so sure?".
"You've got all the symptoms. Nausea, vomiting, weak bones, it's all there honey" Maggie pipped up with a small smile, "Aw, my boy! Going through his first transformation already" Her smile only grew wider as she went to hug Richie. He let her hug him only for a moment before he wiggled out of her grasp.
The full moon was a big occasion for the Tozier family, as it was for every other Ancestor. Although the Tozier's didn't associate themselves with the Ancestors in any way, Wentworth left that life behind him when he chose love, all those years ago. Once he was an Ancestor like every other werewolf was, he lived in one of the bigger cities near Maine, the sister city of The All Lands, Everfalls. He grew up there with his parents and his younger brother West. Even with all of the lessons taught to him throughout the years,  at the age of 14 Went still snuck out to the human world and he met a human girl named Margaret, who he'd grow to fall madly in love with. The love birds had a plan to run away and live their lives together, but the council caught a whiff of their little runaway plan. They made Wentworth choose between staying in Everfalls or being forever banished to the human world. (Since an Ancestor could never marry a human) Of course, he chose Maggie, he chose love. He was never the biggest fan of the way the council ran things anyway, so he was more than happy to finally be out of their grasp.
Wentworth and Maggie Tozier went on to get married and even have a kid of their own, Richie Tozier, who we all know and adore. The thing with raising a werewolf in the human world was that it was a challenge keeping their secret, a secret. Both Went and Richie had pointed fluffy wolf ears, instead of normal fleshy human ears, those weren't too hard to hide. Richie got away with it by giving the school some forged doctor's note that claimed he needed to wear a hat because of how the fluorescent lights in the classroom fucked with his hair. So Richie usually wore beanies and snapbacks which hid his wolf ears. But that wasn't all, the father and son also both had long wolf tails that sat right at the bottom of their back. These weren't hard to hide, just more of a pain. Normally Rich would wear multiple layers of sweaters and jackets, so he could hide his tail in the layers. But no matter how he hid it, at the end of the day he always returned home with an ache in his back and a minor headache.
In places like The All Lands and Everfalls, werewolves would've been taught at a young age how to shift from human to wolf and vice versa, but those who were never taught as pups usually experience their first full transformation after their 16th birthday. Richie had turned 16 in March and it was currently May, so it made sense.
"So what are we gonna do? Go terrorize the villagers? Or go plot our revenge against the Ancestors and that damned council?" Richie schemes, he rubbed his hands together in an evil manner, ya know like Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
"Hm yeah maybe" Went played along for a moment before he dropped the act, "Probably just the usual, you, me, down in the cellar".
The Tozier's chose this house for one main reason, aside from the fact that it was DIRT CHEAP, it had a cellar with a hefty door which made it perfect for full moons, so the werewolves wouldn't get out.
"But seriously Rich, now's the time you've really gotta be careful, alright? Any small thing can make you go all wolf and the last thing we need is a call from your teacher claiming you ate another student" Went was cracking a joke but the message still got through.
Even without the full moon, Richie always had to be careful. Whether it was watching his anger or making sure his hat was positioned correctly, he always had to be careful. If he lashed out in class, he'd feel his fangs begin to lengthen in his mouth and need to go to the bathroom to calm himself down. If he got a bad mark on a test and curled his fingers into tight fists. When he'd unclench his fists to find small semi-circle nail marks on the palms of his hands that were on the verge of bleeding because his claws were coming in. He was always careful.
It's one of the reasons why he used comedy and sarcasm as a defence mechanism. It was a way to get the message across without throwing punches and risk killing his poor victim with his enhanced strength.
"Okay, okay, I get it. I'll be careful. Now can I get something to eat before I go and eat those three little pigs?"
(get it? Cause... ya know, Big Bad Wolf, Richie's a werewolf? Three little pigs? Get it? I know I'm hilarious.)
~
Since it was Saturday, Richie spent the day lounging around the house doing whatever he pleased. He'd start off by playing some video games in the basement and maybe even do some homework in the living room while his parents watched their usual Saturday afternoon cooking shows together. By 3:00 pm the teen werewolf had sprawled out on the floor of his bedroom and read comics.
Ms Marvel had just finished saving Jersey city when Richie closed the comic and stood up. He began to walk out of his room but stopped in the doorway when he noticed the way the sun beamed into his room. The urge to look out his window filled his body as he turned and made his way towards it.
It was a sunny day for May which was nice, especially since it practically rained the entire month of April. The sun brought a new look to the Tozier's backyard, which Richie's room looked out to. It's warm afternoon light made everything just a little brighter, Richie could feel the edge of his lips tug upwards and into a warm smile with the sunlight that warmed his cheeks.
Something moved. Richie caught it out of the corner of his eye. He titled his head and focused on the spot where he'd seen the movement. The creature was easy to spot as it contrasted against the greenery in the Tozier's backyard. A little ball of white fluff sat peacefully in the grass. Richie smiled a little brighter at the sight of the cute little white rabbit.
Haven't seen one of those in a while
The thought drifted to the surface of Rich's mind as he studied the precious little bunny. Its nose twitched and one of his ears flopped slightly. "Awwe" Richie cooed at the cuteness of the little rodent. He scrunched up his nose as his smile grew wider.
"Cute, cute, cute" he mumbled to himself and watched the bunny hop off into the hedges.
Later that day when dinner time rolled around the Tozier's sat in comfortable silence with the TV on low in the background. Richie finished chewing on the piece of steak he had in his mouth before he asked, "Have you guys seen any white rabbits lately?". The question stemmed from the fact that Richie had seen countless rabbits throughout his lifetime, yet he couldn't bring himself to remember if any of them had ever been purely white.
Maggie and Wentworth had another silent conversation with their eyes. "No... Why? Did you see one, honey?" Maggie asked with curiosity, she set her fork down on her plate and looked across the table at her son.
"Uh- yeah I saw one when I was reading, it was out in the back" Richie explained, "It's not like a saw an alien" Richie let out a forced chuckle since the air in the room had become tense.
"No, it's just odd. You know why white rabbits are so rare?" Went asked, he didn't wait for a response as he just kept going, "White rabbits are a symbol for magic. If you were to go to any land populated with Ancestors, all you'd see are white rabbits. They rarely ever come onto human territory".
The young werewolf's eyes grew wide, "Wait, so are you telling me that we had an Ancestor on our property today?".
Went scratched his head and contemplated the different options that could explain the event, "No... Not necessarily. Not every white rabbit is part human. Yes, some are-
Maggie cut in, "It could've just been a rabbit who spent too much time in Everfalls or The All Lands. Or maybe it was enchanted?" She looks over at her husband for backup.
"Precisely" He winked at his wife. "I wouldn't worry too much about it Rich. Just let us know if you see it again" Went concluded, he then proceeded to dig into his steak, his incisors had come to a point, his fangs out. Richie lightly rolled his eyes and let an amused huff of air out through his nose before he followed suit and continued his dinner.

Alfida, Orm, and Gerda had arrived at the troll kingdom and on the outside of the corridor, they were waiting for their call to enter into the hall, where the thrones were located.
„Freya was okay with you going here you say?“ The raven-haired girl asked making Gerda nod.
„I just don‘t receive a payment for that day,“ Responded the blonde. „So far it‘s no issue. I‘ve been always present at the work, so if I miss a day or two, it‘s not bad,“
„Have you guys got at your kingdom actually got a daily sickness allowance?“ Orm questioned. „Queen Maribel suggested last year this idea and it got into effect this year,“
„No never heard of it,“ Gerda responded, then the door into the hall got opened back by a servant troll, which looked at the two human girls along with the troll Orm, then the servant looked at his sheet to check the list again.
„You‘re Gerda, Alfida and Orm?“ Questioned the troll earning a nod from the trio.
„You seriously don‘t remember Gerda, the one who took down the Fire-Demon last time?“ Questioned Orm surprised watching the servant shrug his shoulders.
„I apologize for my low knowledge. I assume the other Gerda had a last name,“
„Well I do,“ Gerda responded earning a nod from Alfida.
„What are last names?“ Orm asked following Gerda and Alfida into the hall.
„Well, a lot of families share a second name, which somehow tells other people, that you‘re a family. As my mom and dad got married my mom adopted my dad‘s last name, so people know they‘re family in a way,“
„Family names don‘t exist around us pirates. We just have first names or codenames and that‘s enough,“ Alfida added earning a nod from the troll, then the trio approached the king and queen, which sat on their throne looking together at one roll, then Gerda faked a cough to call the troll‘s attention.
„Hey,“ Gerda greeted making the two smile.
„Gerda, great to see you again!“ King Arrog announced getting up from his throne to give the girl his hand, instead of the girl taking it to shake, she embraced the tall troll surprising him, then he placed his arms around the girl.
„It‘s been so long. I‘m glad nothing bad happened to you after we failed to bring the rest of the magicians out of the mirrorlands,“ Commented Gerda. „You gotta tell us how you defeated the king with these powers you‘ve obtained,“ „Well, it turned out, that I turned into a powerful magician just as the Snow Queen once did. I‘m more able to fly, protect and serve people in need, which basically is what my heart always did before I knew about us being related with magicians,“ Gerda explained. „But I didn‘t come here for this. I came to aid Orm, cause somehow…….he was taking care of the triplets and on the day my boyfriend was boarding a zeppelin they managed to get in there unnoticed and left along with him leaving Orm and us worried unknowing what happened to them,“ Gerda explained shrieking Queen Maribel and shocking the king.
„Orm, how could you let that happen?!“ King Arrog asked sternly the thin troll, which felt a little intimidated by the troll from royalty.
„Yes I admit it, I should have listened to Gerda or Alfida. If I had kept my eye on them instead of believing the three would get into the ship of Alfida without an issue,“ Orm commented feeling bad about his deed.
„Do you at least have any idea, where this zeppelin went?“ Arrog asked while massaging his eyelids with his fingers.
„That‘s the only good thing about it for now. It went to Spain, where Rollan just went. They must have followed him as he had food with him,“ Gerda explained.
„Rollan….I‘ve heard this name once before, is it per coincidence the guy I‘m thinking about?“
„Yes, the one who almost destroyed your kingdom, but he assured everyone that he‘ has no memory of what he has done during that entire time,“ Gerda responded watching Arrog slap his forehead with his head.
„Oh lord,“
„I know you don‘t trust him as much as you do me or Orm, but I promise you, he‘s going to keep them well until the day we get them back home,“
„Alright,“ Arrog sighed. „Where exactly in Spain do they're on dwell?,“
„I know it‘s a place on the coast, it starts with an A…...Alcante? No, that‘s not right……,“ Gerda pondered, then her friend Alfida tried to remember the current cities she could call, which her mother had robbed in the past, and nudged the blonde on the shoulder.
„What about Alicante?“ Questioned Alfida. „That‘s on the coast“
„Yes that‘s the place,“ Gerda commented, then the king walked to a bookshelf that contained various books and took one out with the maps of the world and opened it to take a look at it, then Gerda got around the book along with Alfida, Orm and Queen Maribel.
„Here is it located,“ Alfida pointed out. „Around 700km away from France,“
„And we‘re how much? 10‘000 km?“ Questioned Gerda making Alfida shake her head.
„No, no, no, but at least 4000 or 5000, if we‘re counting from here,“ Alfida corrected earning a nod from Gerda, then noticed Orm raise his brows in curiosity.
„What is a boot doing here on the map?“ Questioned Orm making Gerda chuckle.
„That‘s Italy,“ Alfida pointed out.
„Looks…….strange,“ Orm commented.
„This makes me think on that comment Rollan made once about the Scandinavian peninsula, which nobody understood,“ Alfida pointed out chuckling making Gerda shrug her shoulders.
„Yet I still haven‘t understood it,“ Gerda pointed out, then got poked on the shoulder.
„Ask him and he‘ll answer it to you,“ The pirate girl commented with a wink, making Gerda shrug her shoulders estranged about that comment of her friend.
„Are you still planning into going to get my sons back?“ Asked the queen looking at the humans.
„We‘re going to get them back, Maribel. I promise,“ Gerda said grabbing the troll‘s hand to give her insurance.
„Thank you, Gerda,“
„Don‘t worry your majesty, tomorrow after we stop back at our home I and Orm will prepare the ship and head toward Spain,“ Mentioned the raven-haired girl, then Gerda lifted her head to glance at Alfida.
„Then wake me up, I‘m going with you,“ Gerda warned making Alfida wide her eyes.
„You don‘t have to come along. I and Orm can handle it on our own,“ Warned the pirate-descendant girl.
„I know you do, but it‘s always better to have more persons come along. If more of us come along we can find the triplets quicker,“ Gerda mentioned making Alfida cross her arms with a smirk.
„Let me guess…..is that an excuse to be able to see Rollan?“ Alfida asked making Gerda shake her head.
„It also counts a little, but mainly I‘d be a great help with my capacity of flying,“ Gerda announced stretching her arms and legs aside to transform into the dragon-themed superheroine, which made the royals drop their mouth.
„So this is what she meant with flying,“ King Arrog pointed out making Gerda smile and spread her wings wide to show them pridefully.
„Alright, alright. You‘re coming with us. After all, out of us all, they‘re most likely to listen to you, rather than me or Orm, eventually,“ Commented Alfida earning a nod from Orm
„They do listen to me, but sometimes…...they rather mind their own business,“ Commented the young troll making the humans laugh.
In the afternoon the guard academy attendants stood at the large parkour watching six students pass through it under the crowd‘s observation.
„As you can see some of the obstacles seem harder to come through than you think, when you don‘t think with your head,“ The teacher explained pointing at a climbing frame with three men crossing it under the right place while Rollan‘s friend Pastor and another man crossed the frame by walking stepping over each horizontal bar from the framework. „The goal of the parkour is for you to learn how to overcome those obstacles the fastest way possible. Sure out there it seems easier, but you don‘t know how smart the person is you‘re pursuing. He could have a terrible aim, but a great endurance and cunning reaction. Or worse, he‘s skilled in using it and made his way through the obstacles giving you a hard time in keeping up with. So far you‘re all far away to get started with this. As I mentioned yesterday, I will only let 6 to 8 of you run into this course, after a minute I‘ll let the next six follow afterward, and so on. The last 27 I order you to meet up with Juan and José, Group Delta, get in position,“ Ordered the teacher and Rollan moved forward along with three men, three teenagers, and the young woman Marina file up along the start line on the ground, which was made with a rope.
„I‘m surprised to be with you in the group. What do you think about this course? Manageable?“ Marina questioned looking at the old cartwheels spread in front of them a couple of meters away from them.
„Sure. I‘ve seen worse obstacles,“ Rollan responded watching the fastest member of the first group jump over the small hole filled with water to grab the rope, that hung above it on a tree, then he landed on the other side of the water hole and made his way towards a climbing wall. „I don‘t think others will have a problem,“ Rollan pointed out, then the third man ran into the moat and jumped to grab the rope and missed it, but landed at the edge of the water afterward the fourth man came along to use the rope and pushed the man away from the water and swung back and forth, then landed beside the man, which smiled at the other student‘s help.
„Maybe the small labyrinth will be a little tough,“ Marina commented earning a nod from Rollan.
„Yeah. Lieutenant Roberto said yesterday, that they would switch the walls of the labyrinth daily to give us a different route, remember?“ Rollan asked earning a nod from the girl.
„Yes he did,“ Marina commented, then looked around the group and noticed the teens around her age one brunette boy and a raven-haired boy waiting for the start, then the raven-haired boy looked at the girl and chuckle.
„Aren‘t you in the wrong address?“ Questioned the boy making the girl shake her head.
„No. Are you afraid to be outrun by a girl?“ Questioned Marina ironically, making the boy shake his head.
„Keep up your confidence. I don‘t think you‘re going to make it any farther, than this,“ The boy commented making Marina roll her eyes at the boy‘s comment, then Rollan noticed it and stepped aside to speak at the boy.
„Hey don‘t talk to her like that. She has the right to be here as any other of us,“ Rollan mentioned making Marina smile as he came to defend her. „She may look weak, but looks don‘t have to matter,“
„Hey dude, no one was talking to you…..“ The raven-haired boy commented, then widened his eyes as he was looking at Rollan. „Oh, dios mio. Ernesto, look who‘s here!“ The boy shouted getting the attention of the brunette boy behind him, which paid attention and recognized the taller boy in the red shirt.
„Rollan the loser is back!“ Ernesto, the brown-haired boy announced making his colleague laugh, making Marina furrow her eyebrow and Rollan widened his eyes at recognizing the two teens.
„We assumed you left Alicante because you finally noticed your presence around the city was worthless,“ Said the raven-haired boy. „And now you‘re here at the guard school hoping to become a legend like you always did before,“
„I‘m here so I can help my mama pay for her debts. This was the best chance I found and I‘m going to take it. Come on, Enrico, I don‘t know what was or is your problem, but let‘s just forget that and just behave like normal men,“ Rollan commented.
„You guys could really need a chat. Who knows, maybe you three will get along and be able to befriend each other,“ A third teenager added, then Enrico glared at the teenager, that mentioned that.
„I don‘t think this will work between us three,“ Ernesto mentioned earning a nod from Enrico.
„Yeah, he doesn‘t need our friendship. He‘s got his mama and all those heroes in the wallpapers of his bedroom. They‘re a better match for him,“ Enrico said, then the teacher used his shotgun to give out a warning at the groups.
„Andale! This isn‘t a break, this is now the training, andale!“ Shouted the teacher, earning the group‘s attention. The ones, which weren‘t involved in the argument departed first and ran over the wheels.
„See you at the finish line, loser,“ Enrico said departing behind his friend Ernesto, then Marina slapped Rollan on his back to order him to start and both ran toward the wheels and jumped with their feet from wheel to wheel. Rollan from the forced start was a little tensed and got distracted with the wheels and pressed on the end of one of the wheels, causing it to move up and get hit by the end of it between his legs.
„Ou!“ Rollan complained stepping back and holding his hands between them, then watched Marina climb over the ramp in front of the wheels and moving left to leave the ramp and head to an obstacle, which was an adjustable stick attached on two metal-made bars. Rollan moved on following the girl above the ramp and reached the upcoming obstacle and jumped over it.
„You‘re supposed to crawl under it. Imagine there was a wall and you only had to go under that,“ Roberto the teacher warned earning a nod from Rollan, then he looked further and shrieked as in front of him stood a large pile of bricks cemented together as a jump element and Rollan jumped on top of it and moved further approaching the wall, which was the end of the first checkpoint, then he moved back and went to the right side and ran in a slalom around staffs, that was dug into the ground. Rollan looked at the water jump in the middle of the course to see Enrico smirk at the older Spaniard, then jumped to grab the rope and Rollan shook his head to try to gain his focus.
„Come on. You can‘t just fail on this,“ Rollan told himself and went on the climbing frame and crossed it quickly, trying to catch up with Marina, which was on the climbing net, which was the next obstacle to Rollan.
As Rollan got onto the next obstacle he encountered Marina standing in front of a bow and Marina run through the bow and fell down on the ground and looked behind at the bow annoyed, which made Rollan curious at the situation.
„What was that?“ Rollan wondered coming to the end of the net and made his way to the bow to see a small rock attached to a rope swinging at the passage Rollan had to pass through. Rollan frowned and ran toward the long arc and jumped through the arc, getting hit on his arm, causing him to spin aside and land on his back.
„Ahahaha. You still want to come along with the others?“ Ernesto asked as he stood on the top of a climbing wall, then as his friend, Enrico reached the top he pointed at Rollan, causing his friend to laugh.
„Face it loser. You‘re never going to make it through this,“ Enrico commented making Rollan angry, then he got up and ran over the piles of stones, which stood there on the ground in various types of sizes, then Rollan got stuck with one of his feet between a large rock and a smaller one, then fell down on the stones making the boys laugh harder.
Marina which had managed to swing over the water jump noticed the boys laughing, then looked around for Rollan to encounter him trying to take his feet out from the stone, and as he managed to get it out his shoe remained back and he sighed making Marina get sad at his misfortune.
„Come on Rollan, just focus,“ Marina whispered, then watched Rollan move on and pass around a pole, which marked the second checkpoint and jumped over the water jump to catch the rope and swing at the end of it and got closer to the girl, which ran now along with him. „You need to ignore the others and focus on what you‘re doing,“ Marina warned watching Rollan jump at the wall to climb it up. „Are you listening to me?“ The brunette girl asked following the raven-haired the wall up.
„I‘m not a loser. I‘m better than what I was before,“ Rollan complained, then he slipped with his feet and landed on his back, making Marina flinch her teeth at his incident. „Maldiciön!“ Hissed Rollan making Marina hold her hand in front of her forehead and jumped down from above the wall and made her way to the labyrinth while looking back at Rollan, which tried to climb the wall again.

lifes been weird and sad , got so much stuff i wanna say dont even know if thats the right subred to but here goes.i m 18 , from Greece , first year in Uni and life is not the way i want it to bei live on my own , rent is being paid by mom and her husband , month pocket money given by dad and by my part time jobat some point in high school i understood that our school years were our most carefree years , tho only now do i really understand itman this post is gonna cramp my fingers shouldve used the pcused to hang out a lot till 2nd year of high school then in 3rd year cause of me studying more i was hanging out less , used to have around 4groups of ppl to hang around then only one , cliche but i wasnt anyone special in school , gotta mention i went to a music middle-high school , only highlights i remember are in 2th-3rd grade trading blows with a girl (think she was 5th grade) ,3rd grade kissing a girl in her cheek then running away from the boy-horde coming after me , 4th grade trading blows with a 6th grader ,6th grade punching a guy for calling names my little sis (we good now see him out we talk he a nice dud) , 9th grade a girl i had a chance with but fucked it up big time , 9th grade breaking a cello almost getting expelled ,12th grade playing bass at a concert in Thessaloniki with a music group of my schooldidnt really have many close friends but there were some from school and other places you can call closer friends , but now even with them i ve started to fade away which i cannot bear but i m the type of giving up and not trying until i m lategot laboratory this morning and this is gonna take a while hope i can get some sleepfeels weird using reddit to express my thoughts i even find it a bit cringy talking to myself but oh welli wanted to visit a physiatrist because i ve been so mentally tired that i think i might have crippling sadness xD but i tried to arrange that back in July-August pre my 18th bday so she said a parent was required to be present so i just kept all the stuff to myselfi was learning classic guitar from 1st grade to 8th still play to this day , in music school i kinda learned h2p electric but didnt practice enough to be able to play good , also know some pianobeen listening to post rock and mostly fate music these past 10 monthssucker for good anime tho i ve been out of it lately havent even finished my summer ones , oregairu has a nice ending from what i got spoiled fromanyway thing is i am sad most of the time , i try not to show it cause i like the stereotype of being the strong guy that everyone can depend on and almost never see being emotional and also like the cool tempered guy type , tho lately i ve been craving a lot of attention that i drop the act of the calm n cool sometimesthings with my parents didnt go to well these past years , only now i can say that we ve finally kinda calmed down , mom and dad started falling out of it around 8th grade cause lots of fighting , big sis kindof took the role of mother while on her teen years , feels like she had it much worse than me10th grade sis leaves home to go elsewhere to start studies for uni , i m left with ma and lil sis back homethen i understand that i have to be there for my little sis which also got in my school that year (3kids-3years difference each) so i tried to assume the role of the big brother but she was closer to her older sister than me , i was closer to my older sister as well , feels like i was doing my lil sis wrong but i cpould relate more to big sis and could chat with her more about stufflil sis didnt open up to me a lot even to this day , she has been a lot more comfortable with me through the years i think cause she told me something important recently , kinda feelsbadman tho cause i wanted to be closer to her and i kinda tried but i think not hard enough cause she didnt seem to get any closer , cried once about it in front of my mother which was the absoluteliest worst cause i didnt want her to see me being fragile jesustho even now that i m not home i talk to her play some among us tried making her start xenoverse 2 that didnt go farhave some friends from school , we would only go all together at internet cafes , but mostly 4 of em would go out togetherin my school i had some friends from scouts tooi have an insta , used to post "cool" pics kinda stopped cause i like looking cool in front of others but i havent been in the mood to try in around a year nowused to be in some conservatory guitar groups with some other kids there , with one girl from there i used to be quite in touch until recently that i stopped seeing her for some reasons maybe i ll explain l8rwe had fun and i really mean it , we used to go on trips to play songs on different cities and stages , our group became kinda known the 2-3 good active years we were active , it still is but these years were the originals , now there are other peoplefucking christ its 2:27started playing in that group with the originals in 2017 till 2019 , we were kids from different ages going from 6th to 10th graders but i didnt understand the different in our ages until recently that i found one of the guys from the group in my cityanother closer friend is a guy from my school , met him in grade 7 still talk to him , used to sit together most of the years pretty neat guy , peculiar character but really interesting kind smart and hard workingman why couldnt my teen years be like shirou from fsn that would be awesomehad entrance exams 4-5 months ago , didnt really go as planned , shooted for Corfu didnt get in cause rather than 15 i got 10 in my last exam so i m still in my city , tho i live alone and go to my local uni insteadJuly 2019 i moved out of my old house moved in with ma and her husband with my sis , stayed there till september then till june-july 2020 i was living with my fathertbh i decided to write this post after watching a vid of Korone talking about Okayu thinking that i ve never been in an actual relationship and that i eould want to experience that but dont know where to start from , losing weight ? becoming outgoing again ? learn how to talk to girls ?i started watching anime back in 2015 on my 3ds i remember watching dubbed Inazuma Elevensince like 2 weeks ago i reached 201 anime completedok i ll stop here for tonight cause i got online uni classes tmrw i keep stimestamps for whenever i finally post this -Tuesday 3/11/2020 02:41used to be around 85-90kg in 12th grade , put on around 20-28 kilos since March 2020 , managed to lose 8-10 kilos in the summer but i m still around 30kilos up from the normal amount based on my height , got a subscription to a gym jan2019 but only managed to get into it for a short period on spring 2019 then autumn 2019 then lost motivation and let go , since March2020 i ve been doing some weights at home , tho when i look at myself in the mirror it doesnt really change how bad i feel about my body , i think my old motivation used to be a girl i used to have a crush on but not surethings with my parents werent all that great and i was mentally better when i would talk with them , they are openminded af and supportive too but puberty makes you see stuff differently like everyone is against you like the world is against you (last one might be true dunno yet) , living on my own now seems to be a bit better but as our Greek ancestors used to say theres no good without bad and the bad in this scenario is that its lonely as fuck , having lived for 18 years with my family it really hits a weird spot , everything feels lonelier now with the virus spreading around not being able to see others as much as we used to , uni doesnt feel nice , many people dont pay attention and its like the second half of 12th grade all over againgot my monthly money 4days ago , went from 200 to 9.28 quickly , when i have money i spend when i dont i m stingy , mostly like to build computers , watch lots of Linus , Paul , Kyle , Jay etc. most of my money goes to buying stuff about computers food , used to give lots of money to internet cafes when i used to hang out with the guys from school , not anymorewith the start of uni we all met new friends even i but i still feel like i am drifting apart day by day , stopped talking to my old girl friend cause i was kinda done with her attitude , called me some names i didnt appreciate because i put up with her attitude , most of the time in her own world , only would really pay attention and try to change herself when it was something she cared about , one of them wasnt her character , but to give the goods of her she was a good friend dont know if i can say she still is a friend or just someone i know , she helped me even with the girl i had a crush on , was really fun on trips with the guitar group , all in all a fun person , thing is i stopped texting her and telling her to go out cause it was 80% me trying and the other 20% her and i think that proved right when i stopped talking to her cause i thought she will see that i m not talking to her she ll think somethings wrong she ll message me to go out and have fun , send me a happy bday message posted some pics of me , didnt send me anything else after , stopped talking to her around the start of October , if i hadnt asked her something about her uni and if it wasnt my bday i dont think we wouldve talked in all of october . last saturday i was working in the area she lives in my city decided to call her sometimes didnt answer tried to suprise her and see how she is by going to her house , noone answered maybe they were on a trip idk , but it feels weird man , in the first half of the year me and a common friend of her and me went out one night , ended up being the bad guy to make her understand that she did something wrong that night , after she left i was left with our common friend talked about stuff and mostly her and i expressed myself , i knew that coming summer me and her would end up at different places so i wanted to tell her all the wrongs with her so that she could finally understand what i ve been putting up against and make her understand that she HAS to pay attention to people around her and that she will meet new people and that she ll have to be careful about her character , used to have a bit of crush on her back in 7th grade , can kinda understand why that went . On the other hand i didnt want to part ways with her with our last words being me ranting , one thing brought the other and she wont be going to her uni's city until early 2021 so i managed to go out with her some more in the summer and september . kinda feels bad to see that almost noone remembered my bday cause i remember in cram school when someone had their bday they would get a fucking cake , dont mistake me i got one , from my ma my two sisters and my moms husband , thing is i wanted to have something happen with friends , nothing happend , around 4 people remembered my bday and the others just send me some happy bday messages after seeing posts from the girl i m talking about .also heres a good song to listen to while reading stuff on reddit Sorrow from FSN by MN64 cant post links from what i understandgonna stop here for now might edit later -Tuesday 3/11/2020 15:15thing is reddit is not the right place to get help and i need a friend but it seems i cant get any from my friends , even my other friend the guy i used to sit with in all middle-high school he has drifted apart , talking more with other of his friends doing other stuff etc , that one time i needed to talk to him he said i ll call you in a while , waitied 1 and a half hour then asked him why he didnt call he said he forgot (i think) , feelsbadmananyway i dont think i m gonna keep editing this i ranted enough , gonna leave the post up for a day or so in case anyone wants to add anything then taking it down -Tuesday 3/11/2020 23:58

Title: America’s Ass[Hole] Collaborator Name: ceealaina Link: AO3 Square Filled: C5 - Retirement Ship: Bucky/Steve, Bucky/Steve/Sam  Rating: Teen Major Tags: Alternate Universe - No Powers, Alternate Universe - Coffee Shops and Cafes Summary: Steve and Bucky have been together for years -- and they've been crushing on Sam for nearly as long. Turns out all they needed to seduce him were some inappropriate comments about doughnuts, an asshole customer, and one of Steve's famous 'Captain America' tirades. Word Count: 1854
Bucky looked up as the bell dinged over the door, a lazy smirk crossing his lips at the two figures elbowing each other on their way through the door. “Well,” he purred, leaning forward across the counter in the most seductive way possible -- not easy when he was wearing a hot pink frilly apron -- and waggling his eyebrows at the two of them. “If it isn’t my two favourite Captains America.”
Steve rolled his eyes, but Sam gave him a pointed look. “There’s flour on your nose.”
“You’ve gotta let that nickname go,” Steve grumbled as Bucky made a face at Sam. There was a slight flush on the top of Steve’s cheeks and Bucky preened a little, because oh yeah, fifteen years later and he could still make his boyfriend blush (the fact that Steve blushed as easily as he breathed was neither here nor there).
“Hey, it’s not everyday that your boyfriend gets picked to be the PR face of the good ol’ US of Army,” he pointed out, going a little cross-eyed as he tried to see the tip of his nose to rub the flour off.
Steve huffed, but Bucky could see the small smile fighting its way onto his lips. “That’s not even me anymore.”
“Hence the Captains, Stevie,” he told him, giving Sam a wink. “I’m not gonna forget about Captain Handsome here. Try and keep up.”
Sam rolled his eyes, though neither Bucky and Steve missed the little nose wrinkle that he always did when he was feeling flustered. “You two are gross,” he informed them. “It’s been like a hundred years. Aren’t you sick of each other’s ugly faces?”
“Constantly,” Steve agreed easily, grinning look Bucky gave him. “Can’t stand the sight of him.” He shrugged helplessly, grin turning soppy. “But what can I do, I’m in love with him anyway.”
“Gross,” Sam confirmed. “I’m gonna grab a table. Call me when you’re done flirting and being all smitten with each other.”
In unison, Bucky and Steve both turned to watch him go, Bucky leaning forward over the counter to get a better look. “Hey, Sam!” he called, grinning when Sam’s steps faltered slightly but he didn’t turn around. “Hate to watch you go, but I love to watch you leave,” he drawled. Both Sam’s hands came up, flipping him the bird over his shoulder, and Bucky laughed.
“Buck,” Steve hissed when Sam had settled into a seat. “Come on, you’re gonna scare him off.”
Bucky just snorted. “Hate to break it to you, pal, but if we haven’t scared him off yet, we’re not gonna.” He waved his metal arm at Steve. “He stuck around when I lost my arm, and had to get out of the army. Remember? I didn’t shower for like a month, don’t know how anyone besides you could stand to be near me. But Sam? He stuck around. Dragged me out of bed and outside, and I know he took you drinking when you didn’t know what to do with me anymore. And!” He gestured around the bakery. “Who was the one to back me up when I had the ridiculous idea to open up a bakery for both people and their dogs, despite having no professional training whatsoever? Sam.”
“This place is great!” Steve insisted. “Giving people a chance to share a treat with their service dogs? That’s brilliant, Buck.” He was just a little too earnest though, and Bucky fixed him with a look.
“You thought I was crazy, Stevie. Sam was the one who convinced you to let me give it a try. It might not be quite the way we want yet, but he’s been a part of our relationship almost as long as we’ve been together. He’s not going anywhere.”
Steve made a face at him. “When the hell’d you get so smart?”
“I’ve always been smarter than you, punk. You were just too dumb to notice.”
Steve huffed at that, but he was obviously fighting back a smile. “Still,” he protested. “I thought we agreed we were gonna take it slow.”
“This is slow!” Bucky insisted. “If I don’t flirt inappropriately, he’s gonna know something’s up.”
“Hey!” Sam shouted, interrupting them both and making Steve jump. He looked up from the table in the corner where he was scrolling idly through his phone, giving them a grin. “Are you two gonna stand there canoodling all day, or can I get a goddamn doughnut over here?”
“Yeah, yeah!” Steve waved him off as the bell rang over the door, another customer coming in. “I’ll be there in a minute.”
“Oh!” Bucky’s face lit up. “I almost forgot, got a new doughnut for you idjits to try. Hang on a sec.” He darted out back and into the kitchen, returning a moment later with a tray of chocolate doughnuts, all covered in red, white, and blue sprinkles. “Ta-Da!” he proclaimed.
Steve gave a long-suffering sigh, although he was grinning too. “You’re a jerk,” he told him, shaking his head at the tray. “I can’t believe I’m dating you sometimes.”
Bucky just grinned even wider. “Wanna know what I’m gonna call them?”
“I really don’t think that I do.”
Bucky giggled a little. “Cap’s Asshole!”
Steve nodded, eyes going skyward. “Of course you are.”
“Get it? Because everyone wants to eat it!”
“Yeah, no, I got it the first time.” Steve started to say something else, but before he could, he was interrupted by the customer who had walked in behind him.
“That’s fucking gross, man. What, are you gay or something?”
Bucky shared a look with Steve, arching his eyebrows and not even trying to hide his smile as he peered around him to take in the new customer. “Uhhh, yeah,” he acknowledged easily. “Well, bi, technically. But, like, super bi.”
The customer, it seemed, didn’t quite know how to take this. He’d apparently been expecting Bucky to be offended at being called gay (even though he’d just been talking about rimming Captain America’s asshole, for fuck’s sake) and he shifted awkwardly, obviously uncomfortable with his easy admission of his sexuality. His mouth opened and closed a few times.
“It’s still gross,” he muttered.
Steve didn’t try to hide the laugh that slipped out.
“And anyway!” he added, more triumphant now that he thought he had a point. “It can’t be Captain America. It’s a chocolate doughnut.”
Bucky stared back at him blankly. “And…?”
“And Captain America’s white, dumbass. He’s not fucking black.”
He said ‘black’ like he meant something else and Bucky’s eyes went wide. But before he could say anything -- probably kick the guy out -- Steve was whirling around.
“Excuse the fuck outta me?” He stepped in close and the customer’s eyes went wide, both at the sheer size of Steve and at being met with Captain America in person. “I don’t know if you noticed, dumbass, but I’m not Captain America anymore, he is.”
He pointed across the room at Sam, who was looking a little startled at being called out like that. Sam’s gaze shifted over to Bucky, who gave him a quick, reassuring wink.
“And he’s already ten times the Captain America I’ve ever been. So we don’t need your fucking mansplaining ass coming in here telling us that like the colour of his skin makes one ounce of difference to the kind of man he is.”
“Jesus, alright,” the customer muttered, eyeing the doorway a little desperately. “What is he, your boyfriend or something?”
“Nope.” Steve popped the p. “That one isn’t my boyfriend, but that one is.” He pointed his thumb over his shoulder at Bucky. “Although, we’re taking applications for, uh… joint chief of staff. And you’re probably too straight to even know what I mean. But if Bucky wants to rim Sam to kingdom come, he’s more than welcome to.”
He stopped then, seeming to realize what he’d said, and the customer took advantage of the break in his tirade to make a run for the door. Steve slumped back against the counter, cutting eyes briefly over to Sam.
“Did I just say that outloud?” he asked, answering his own question before anyone else could. “Oh god, I did.”
He groaned, burying his face in his hands, and Bucky gave his back a couple comforting pats before chancing a look over at Sam who… Didn’t look upset. He was leaning back in his chair, arms folded across his chest, a small smile playing over his lips.
“Joint chief of staff, huh?” he asked. Steve peeked at him from between his fingers, and Bucky held his breath. “Not your best metaphor, Rogers. Still…” He got to his feet, sauntering over to the two of them. “I am a huge fan of the way you defended my honour there. Not that I need it, mind you, but still. It’s kind of hot.”
Steve’s arms dropped heavily to his sides and he swallowed hard. “Is that… Is that a yes? Cause Buck and I…” He glanced back at Bucky, who was leaning forward against the counter, positively beaming. “We’ve talked about it, a lot. We, uh…” He ducked his head a little. “We were trying to figure out how to ask you out.”
“Not for a threesome!” Bucky added quickly before making a show of looking Sam up and down, ogling and waggling his eyebrows. “Well, not just for a threesome. We want that too, obviously, but we also just want… All of you.”
Sam was still smirking, but his nose was wrinkling again and he couldn’t keep his eyes from going all soft and pleased. “I know,” he told them. “You two are about as subtle as an infomercial.” He glanced behind him. “You know that table is only like a foot away, right? I was just waiting to see which one of you broke first.”
Bucky snorted, shaking his head. “You’re such an asshole,” he declared, sounding thrilled about it. Sam just shrugged.
“Doesn’t that mean I’m gonna fit right in with you two?” he offered.
And then, while they were still absorbing that, he leaned in, curled his hands around Steve’s neck, and pulled him down for a slow, lingering kiss. Steve made a startled noise, eyes wide, before he sighed and sank into it, hands moving to squeeze at Sam’s hips. Bucky just watched the two of them, his mouth hanging open as he grabbed at the counter for support.
“Holy shit,” he drawled.
At the sound of his voice, Sam pulled away from Steve, ignoring his whine of protest, and leaned over the counter to give Bucky an equally mind melting kiss, grinning against his lips when Bucky groaned loudly.
“So listen,” Sam said. “You’re the boss. Any chance of closing early today so we can get the fuck outta here?”
“Yup!” Steve decided, even though it wasn’t his bakery, but Bucky was nodding too.
“Sure thing, handsome,” he promised, just as the bell rang over the door again. “Sorry, we’re closed!” he hollered, not bothering to look away from Sam and Steve. A wicked smile crossed his lips. “I gotta eat Cap’s Asshole!”

Chapter Eight: What Have We Done?
In case you missed it last time I messed up the chapter. Sorry for spelling and grammar. Enjoy!
The next few seconds were blurry to Shoto. When he had calmed down and come back to his senses, he found out he won and that Midoirya was knocked out. But then he also realized how badly he messed up.
Half his shirt was gone, and he no longer felt cold. The world was blocked out from Shoto’s scenes yet again. There was only one thing going through his mind.
What had he done? What had he done? What had he done?
XXX
Dabi’s jaw hung open, his body was stiff, and not even a wrecking ball could get him out of where he stood. What the fuck just happened?
When they saw everything Dabi, Fuyumi, and Natsuo had all yelled out their brother’s name. Most of the other patrons of the place didn’t seem to understand what was going on. But the three Yukitomo siblings stood with blank looks on their faces, frozen in pure blinding fear.
Fuyumi had gripped her glass so hard it broke into pieces and was now scattered across the floor. No one moved to pick them up. Natsuo was trembling as if a ghost had shown up before him. No asked him if he was okay.
For the first time in years, Dabi was scared, honestly, and utterly frightened. He wanted nothing more than to crawl through the screen and grab his little brother and lock him away in the apartment forever to keep him safe.
Dab felt like he couldn’t breathe. This isn't happening. It just couldn’t be happening. No, no, no, no. Wake up, Dabi thought to himself, wake up from the nightmare. It wasn’t real. It couldn’t be.
“Oh, Shoto,” Fuyumi whispered, so quietly, Dabi almost didn’t hear it. A tear slid down her cheek, “What have you done?”
Dabi was almost about to race out the door to UA, but then the news switched on.

“I messed up,” Shoto said.
“You did more than mess up, you fucked up,” Shiki said through the phone.
“How are you even getting the footage?”
“I told my coach I wanted to show my best friend off to my teammates and support you,” Shiki said, “They hooked me up from there.”
“Gods, Shiki, what have I done?” Shoto asked.
“You made a mistake, and now you gotta deal with it.”
“He’s going to find us,” Shoto said, “He’ll find us, and it’ll be all my fault. And I-”
“Hey! Shoto, calm down dude,” Shiki said, “Deep breaths man. It’s going to be alright. He’s not going to get you. Dabi will never let that happen.”
“But my teachers, they’re not dumb. They could easily figure it out,” Shoto said.
“No one looks for dead people Shoto,” Shiki said, “And besides, dual-element Quirks aren’t common, but they’re not one in a million.”
“But-”
“It will be fine,” Shiki said before Shoto could finish talking, “On an unrelated note, where you wearing make-up and a contax?”
“Yeah, I put them both on before the one on one matches started.”
“Okay, that’s smart,” Shiki sighed.
“What’s going to happen to us?” Shoto asked the hand h wasn’t holding the phone with buried in his hair
“I don’t know Frosty, “ Shiki whispered, “I don’t know.”

“What you did young man was very dangerous,” Recovery Girl scolded, “Do you understand that?”
“Yes, ma’am,” Shoto said with his hands on his lap. Shoto wasn’t sure is she was yelling at him to using his right for so long he almost got borderline frostbite or if she was talking about how he used his left side. Most likely, both.
The makeshift nurse’s office was pretty small. Shoto was told he had to be checked out due to the fact he had a Quirk show up that he wasn’t marked down for. He guessed they wanted to make sure he wasn’t on drugs or something. To ensure that Shoto didn’t slip up or make himself look suspicious, Shoto answered every question with either “Yes, ma’am,” or “No ma’am.”
Recovery Girl picked up a folder and opened it. “I say here you were in an incident when you were younger.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“And that resulted in half your body being stunted before your Quirk manifested, making you never able to use your power on the left side of your body, correct?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
The nurse put the folder down and looked at Shoto.
“I am going to put down in your files that you have gone through a rare case of late-manifestation,” she said, “Do you know what that is?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
The hero looked at him for a minute, “Some may say the stress you went through today was miraculously able to reverse the trauma your body went through. Does that make scenes?”
Shoto wasn’t a doctor, and that didn’t make sense, but still, he nodded and said: “Yes, ma'am.”
“Good,” Recovery Girl said, “You will have to change what your Quirk is registered as, seeing as it is not simply an ice Quirk. I will check in with you in a week or so to see that it is done.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“However, there’s one other thing I would like to know,” Recovery Girl said. Shoto looked at her. “How was your family able to get these foraged doctor files?”
Shoto froze. His mouth went dry, and he blinked a few times. “Ma’am?”
“I’ve been in medicine for many years now, young man,” the old woman said, turning to her desk, “I’ve seen Quirk stunt. I’ve seen newly manifested ‘late-Quirks.’ And more importantly, I am well aware of what it looks like when someone is trying to hide power.”
“I don’t know what you are talking about, ma’am.”
“I know you don’t deary,” she said, walking over to him and grabbing ahold of Shoto’s right arm and shook her head. She pulled out a lollipop out of her pocket and gave it to him.
“When you get home tonight, wrap this arm and heating pads,” she said, “I know you will keep using your power throughout the day, so be careful. If you see frozen skin or feel numb, call me at once.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“I’d also suggest you use that heating sleeve, I’m almost positive you have.”
“How do you know that?” Shoto asked as the older woman left. She stopped at the door and let out a hushed sigh.
“It’s what an old student of mine used when she was young, “ was all Recovery Girl said, leaving Shoto scared and bit confused.
Mostly scared.

Should Izuku have guessed that Yukitomo other half had to do with fire? Yes, yes, he should have. But it’s important to remember the keyword there is should.
The flames had been so intense and warm. The climax of the fight is a bit hazy in his mind, but he was sure it would come back to him. His arms were also messed up beyond belief, yay.
Izuku thought back to the look in Yukitomo’s eyes, right before the flames came. They weren’t crazy, or angery, they had almost looked liberated. Another thing that was bouncing around in his head was what Yukitomo said back in the hallway. That him not using his left side kept his family safe. What did that mean? What his left side unsafe? Or was there something else.
Yukitomo said his father wasn’t in his life anymore, did that mean he died. Yukitomo lived with his three older siblings, and from what Izuku understood, the oldest one was the white-haired teen’s legal guardian. So what had happened? How did they getaway?
And Yukitomo’s mother, what had happened to her? Did she get in trouble for hurting her son? Had she gotten help for the pain her husband caused her? Where was she now?
What about Yukitomos other siblings? They all sounded normal from the way Yukitomo talked about them. They looked happy in the pictures white-haired teen showed. How much of that was an act?
There were so many questions he had, but Izuku wasn’t sure he wanted any of them answered.
“Deku, are you okay?” Uararaka asked.
“Oh! Um, I’m fine, just lost in thought, I guess,” Izuku blurted quickly. The girl nodded but still gave him a funny look.
“Hey Midoriya,” Kamanari called, “What the heck were you, and Yukitomo talk about during you fight?”
“Yeah,” Ashido called, “We were gonna ask him but Recovery Girl dragged him away.”
“Well, um...”
“Iida! You’re back!”
Izuku turned to see his other friend straight from the lost match with Yukitomo. The green-haired teen let out a sigh of relief. He really didn’t want to have to talk about his fight with Yukitomo.
“Hello everyone,” Iida said.
“Hey, Iida! You did a great job out! It was awesome!” Yoarashi said.
“Thank you,” the blue-haired teen said before his whole body started to vibrate.
“Ah!”
“Don’t worry, just my phone,” Iida said, at Izuku and Uararaka’s shock, “It’s my mother. I’ll be back.”
Izuku watched him walk away and looked down at the field, with a sinking feeling he had done something to Yukitomo he couldn’t take back or fix.
XXX
The final round was only a couple minutes away. Shoto was trying to clear his mind. Forget about Midoriya. Forget about the monster. Forget about what Recovery Girl said. Just think about the match.
In the end, Shoto popped off his phone case and pulled out the picture he kept there. It was from around a year or so ago. They wear at a festival, dressed in kimonos, and smiling. It had been a good night. Natsuo had won fish he named Gin, and Shoto had gotten an oni mask that looked like the one Dabi had tattooed on his arm (which is still in his room). Someone had been kind enough to take their picture during the fireworks, which could be seen in the background of the photo.
Shoto sighed, closing his eyes for a moment before looking back at the picture. The Shoto Yukitomo a year hadn’t done what had. That Shoto was still safe without a care in the world. He sighed and put the picture back in his phone case.
Shoto had gotten no new messages from his siblings. Not a call or a text. Not since lunch. Whether that was good or bad, Shoto hadn’t the faintest clue.
Dabi was going to kill him.
Not that he wanted to, but Shoto could already see the look of fear and disappointment in Fuyumi’s eyes.
He had no idea how Natsuo as going to react, but probably not good.
How could he have messed up this bad?
Shoto looked at his left hand. He wasn’t naive. Shoto was aware of the ultimate power he wielded. Even when he used just his right side, he was stronger than most. But his left side was a whole other story.
Dabi had shown him how to control it was he was younger. But Shoto’s firepower at age eight was a lot different than Shoto’s firepower at age 15. Shoto realized his brother never forced him to be accepting of his left side. He had a sneaking suspicion that Dabi wanted to teach Shoto to use his fire. To train with it and make it Shoto’s own gift and ability. To show Shoto that he was his own person with the flames as well as the ice. But Dabi never pushed it, letting Shoto reject that part of himself to help him deny their father.
Shoto swallowed. He hardly ever thought of their old man now in days. He didn’t do it because thoughts of that man brought up painful memories. Mom crying in her room because she thought they weren’t around to see her. Touya on the dojo floor, moaning in pain as his skin seared and the smell of burnt flesh surfaced everyone. Fuyumi shaking at Father’s loud voice, telling her to get out. Natsuo turning even paler because he had the audacity to come and see if Shoto was okay and Father caught him.
Shoto closed his eyes. Don’t think about it, he thought, not now.
Just then, the door to the waiting room banged open. Shoto turned to see Bakugou standing in the doorway. They both looked at each other for a minute.
“What the fuck are you doing here?!” Bakugou yelled at him.
“I made to the finals,” Shoto said, turning his head away from the blond, “We’re going against each other.”
Bakugou set off an explosion knocking the table across the room. Shoto blinked up, fazed. He turned to the other boy who looked pissed.
“Let’s get one thing straight, ice princess,” Bakugou spat, “You are not going to fucking hold back on me like you did with the glasses guy.”
“Iida,” Shoto said.
“No fucking cares!” Bakugou yelled, “You use your full power on me, just like you did with fucking Deku. I’m going to put you in your grave, but if I see you half-assing it-”
“You’ll do what?” Shoto asked, “What I do is none of your business last I checked.”
Shoto watched as the blond’s face twist even more in furry. It reminds Shoto of the people in Taijo’s crowd. The ones who got pissed at Dabi’s snarky words and higher status among them.
“You use your full power, you fuckwad,” Bakugou said, “I don’t give a shit about you dumb personal reasons.”
Shoto had no idea how Bakugou found out, probably overheard, but him saying that made him mad. Usually, it wouldn’t have, but after today it did.
“You don’t know a damn thing about me,” Shoto said, standing up and turning to storm out of the room.
As he left, Shoto could hear the explosive teens yells, but he didn’t listen. He was, Shoto was so done with this day. A tiny part of him wanted to leaven right now. He pushed that away. He had a festival to win right now.

Harue sniffed and rubbed her nose with her sleeve. The trail thingy is over now, and from what she understood, no one was happy about. The judge lady had said a bunch of stuff Harue didn’t understand. And she hadn’t liked those lawyer people either. They asked Harue about things she didn’t want to talk about. One of them made her take her bandages off and show her bruises. They asked if she was afraid of Daddy and if she loved Auntie Kosake more. She didn’t want to talk about that! She wanted to go home.
Now she was home in away. She was at Uncle Iroh’s, but it wasn’t better. When they got here, Auntie Kosake yelled and screamed, and Uncle Iroh tried to help calm down her.
“It’s no right!” she cried, her sobs loud enough for Harue to hear, “He should go to jail for what he’s done, not get joint custody!”
Harue covered her ears and let out a whimper. She wanted Nii-chan, but he was angry too and hiding in his room.
Harue found Miss. Yamamoto and Ryoto and hide under her blanket under the bed. Why did big people have to yell? Daddy yelled. Auntie yelled. There was too much noise!
Was it her fault? Was she a bad girl? It felt like it was. Everyone kept talking about her what was best for her. Uncle Iroh and Auntie Kosake said it wasn’t. Even Daddy said she didn't do anything wrong, and he hadn’t even yelled at her for asking.
Daddy was scary, and Harue was afraid of him, but she still liked Daddy. He’d pick her up and carry her around the house, and he gave her Ryoto and Miss. Yamamoto fixed when her face broke. But Daddy did yell a lot. He yelled at her and Nii-chan. He yelled at Auntie, Kosake, the most.
Harue didn’t like living with Daddy. He was loud and made her get up early. She didn’t like the nannies. Daddy had at his house. The ones who fussed over her every day. She didn’t like the teacher Daddy had come in. She wanted to go big kid school like Nii-chan finally got to. Daddy didn’t like her Quirk either or Nii-chan’s.
She wished Daddy would work less. Maybe he’d be less grump. Maybe then he’d play with Harue, and Nii-chan like Uncle Iroha and Auntie Kosake did. Maybe if he were home, he'd see how boring it was there and take Harue and Nii-chan go out and play at the park, like Uncle Iroh did. Daddy said she or Nii-chan couldn’t go out, not after the last time.
Harue felt her lip quiver and curled up very small and started to cry. She tried to be quiet, so no one would come in and made her talk about why she was sad. But soon enough, she heard the door open, and she tried to stop crying altogether.
“Harue-chan?” Nii-chan’s voice called. Harue felt someone drag her out from underneath the bed and take the blanket off her head. Nii-chan looked at her and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Everyone's so loud, “ she sobbed, hiding her head in Nii-chan chest. Harue felt him wrap her arms around her. He didn’t make her talk about her feelings or anything. He just gave her a really good hug.
“Come on,” he said, “let’s watch the Sports Festival,” he said, “I recorded it for you.”
“You did?” She asked, rubbing her eyes and letting out a tiny sniff.
“Yeah, I did,” Nii-chan said, “Come on,” he said, holding his hand out for Harue to take. Slowly and quietly, they crept to their cousin’s room (who Uncle Iroh said was at university, and that’s why he did live here anymore). When they got in Nii-chan, shut the door, and Harue jumped up on the foot of the bed.
Harue’s eyes grew wide with wonder at all the big kids and their powers. They were all so cool and strong. But there was one boy Harue liked the most. He had white hair and two different colored eyes. He looked pretty. But not only that, his Quirk was really cool! He had an ice Quirk! Harue never seen anything like it before.
When the battles happen, she begged Nii-chan to let her just watch the one with the white-haired boy. They could rewatch the other matches later!
In the first fight, the white-haired boy made a huge wall of ice, and it was so big! Harue had jumped off the bed to look at the tv even closer. That was until Nii-chan pulled Harue away a bit because he said it would ruin her eyes.
But in the second fight, something amazing happened. The white-haired boy didn’t just have an ice Quirk but a fire one too!
“Nii-chan! Nii-chan look, he has two Quirks! Two of them see! See!?”
“I don’t think he has two Harue,” Nii-chan said, look really hard at the tv. Harue hadn’t really cared. Harue just wanted to see the boy use his power more.
They watched another fight, but this time the white-haired boy didn’t use his firepower, and Haruhi was a bit disappointed. He grabbed the remote to skip to the next fight, but she didn’t get far before it stopped.
“Hey!” she cried.
“Were caught up in real-time,” Nii-chan said, “That means we get to watch the fight live.”
“Really!?” Harue asked, turning around to look at her brother.
“Yeah.”
Harue smiled and jumped back on the bed with Nii-chan, “I don’t want to miss it!” she said.
“Don’t worry,” Nii-chan said, “You won’t.”
“I hope he wins,” Harue said. Nii-chan nodded, but when Harue looked at him, she couldn’t help but think that he looked sad.
XXX
Shoto let out a breath. Bakugo was a good fighter. Shoto knew that going in. All his regular tick didn’t seem to work on the blond, not in the way he wanted.
However, that didn’t mean that Shoto wasn’t doing well. He had landed a few hits on the other boy. Shoto also noticed that Bakugo kept grabbing his forearms. He was reaching his limit too.
The end of the fight was drawing near. Shoto could feel it in his gut. This was it. This was the time to prove everything.
It was happening, Bakugo was coming at him. If Shoto did this right, he could end the match in one blow. There was one problem. He felt cold, almost more so that before. Damn it, why now?
Shoto wasn’t thinking, that problem why he raised his left arm in the air. He could feel the flames begin to build. Bakugo wanted him to use his full power, fine he’d give it to him. He takes first with both his sides.
But then another flood of memories came.
Mom crying. Touya in so much pain. Natsuo and Fuyumi looking so scared. Shoto’s own broken and bleeding body on the ground.
But it didn’t end there. He thought of the first birthday he had with his siblings. He thought of play heroes and villains with Shiki as children. He thought of the movie nights the Yukitomo siblings had. The memorable dinners the four of them had. He thought of going up on the roof of the building watching planes fly overhead. He thought of Natsuo play football with him. He thought of Fuyumi teaching him how to make soba. He thought of Dabi training him, and the playfully messing up his hair like he always did.
Shoto thought about how happy he had been. How happy they had all been. How lucky they were.
Shoto lowered his arm and looked down.
No, winning isn't worth tradining all that away.
He wasn’t ready to embrace that part of himself. Not yet. Not without help.
Shoto closed his eyes and wait for Bakugo to come and knock him out. He wasn’t winning today. That felt like the only choice he could make at the moment.
XXX
Shoto looked down at the silver medal. Even though this what borderline a day from hell, Shoto was still proud of himself. But most of that pride was crushed by the feelings of anger and fear. What was going to happen now? What were his classmates going to say? His friends?
He had avoided everyone after his match with Midoriya. He didn’t know how to confront them. Did he tell them what Recovery Girl had said? Would they believe it? Had he given them a reason not too?
Then there were his teachers. Was he going to get in trouble? It was clear the Recovery Girl knew he was lying about his Quirk being stunted, but would she tell them? Wasn't there a rule that doctors could tell other people about someone's medical stuff?
And even if everyone bought what Recovery Girl said and even if she didn’t tell the teachers there was still Midoriya. Would he go around debunking everything? Would he tell everyone everything he knew? And what about Bakugo? He knew somehow too.
Shoto tried to tell himself that Midoriya wasn’t that kind of person. He also said to himself that Bakugo didn’t care.
After letting out a heavy sigh, Shoto buried his hands in his face. What had he done? What had he done to himself and everyone he cared about?
Once more, Shoto looked down at the medal. He remembered what All Might had said he placed it around his neck.
“You fought well, but I can see you’ve been dealing with many other problems today. I won’t ask, but you can relax now, the day is over,” He had looked at Shoto, “Well done, young Yukitomo.”
All Might was almost right. The day wasn’t done yet, he still had to go back to class for a few announcements. He still had to face his siblings. He still had to deal with Dabi's wrath.
There was no point in delaying it any longer. Shoto Stood up and walked out of the locker room and to the classroom. He waited outside a few seconds and then pushed the door open.
It was a typical scene, everyone was standing it little groups talking. Shoto saw Yaoyarozu and Yoarashi toward the back by their spots. When they saw him come in, they stood up and walked over.
“Yukitomo, are you okay?” Yoarashi asked, truly looking worried.
“Yeah, man are you alright,” Kirishima asked, walking over to him. Shoto know released most of the class was looking at him.
“Yeah,” Shoto said, nodding, “I’m fine.”
“Recovery Girl told us what happened,” Uararaka said.
“Did she?”
“Yeah, she said that part of your Quirk had been suppressed and manifested under presser.”
“Yeah, that a simple way of saying it,” Shoto said. Eventually, Shoto got to his seat and sat down. He had heard that Iida had gone home after their match because something happened to his older brother. Shoto hoped that it was nothing big, but with things day probably not.
When the door opened again, it was Midoriya, and Shoto winced at the sight of his arms. He knew that a lot, if not all, the damage that happened to Midoriya’s limbs was green-haired teen own fault but still.
Soon enough, Mr. Aizawa came into the room and stood in front of the room. He said that they did and that there be no school for a few days. Shoto kinda tooned it out, letting his mind wander. When they were dismissed, Shoto stood up quickly and was going to run to his locker as soon as he could, but before his hand could touch the door, Mr. Aizawa said, “Yukitomo wait.”
Shoto turned around as the rest of his classmates head home.
“Yes, Mr.Aizawa?” Shoto asked, feeling nervous.
“Principal Nedzu, All Might, and I would like to have a talk with you.”
Shoto swallowed but nodded.
XXX
Shoto felt like a rabbit being stared down by wolves. He was sitting in a chair in front of a table before two of his teachers and the school principal. All Might and Principal Nedzu were smiling at him, and Mr.Aizawa’s face was still hidden by his bandages from the events of USJ.
Shoto's hands were on his lap, and he was gripping the material of his pants so tight that is knuckles turned white. Shoto had developed an excellent poker face over the year. But slowly, he could feel himself starting to crack.
Finally, Principal Nedzu broke the silence, “I would like to begin this by saying that you are not in trouble, Yukitomo.”
Shoto only nodded. Like his talk with Recovery Girl, Shoto was nervous about slipping up his wording.
“We simply called you heard to have a talk about what happens now.”
“I thought I wasn’t in trouble,” Shoto said.
“You’re not,” Mr. Aizawa, “However, as you may know, new powers are hard to control, and something like fire can be quite hazardous.”
Nedzu nodded, “Yes, and though you have incredible control of your right side, we’re are a bit worried about your left side getting out of control unintentionally.”
“We’ve already spoken with your brother,” All Might said, “As he is your legal guardian. He says he has a fire Quirk and that he will work with you if you wish.”
“Overall, what we are asking is that you be careful with your new power to not try anything too risky too soon,” Nedzu said, folding his hands (paws?) together.
“I understand,” Shoto said. They talked to him a little more. As the minutes ticked on, Shoto grew more and more nervous. Deep down, he had the urge to bolt out of the room and run home as fast as he could.
They did let Shoto go, and the white-haired teen had to fight himself to not run out the door.
As he walked down the hall, he began to feel his feet get heavy. An hour ago, he wanted nothing more than to go home, but now he was nervous about going back.
“Yukitomo!” a voice called.
Shoto turned around to see Midoriya. The other teen looked at Shoto and said, “I just wanted to say… I just wanted to…” Midoriya looked down as if he was trying to think of what to say.
Shoto looked down at his own feet and said, “I understand if you don’t want to be friends anymore.”
Where he and Midoriya even friends before? He had a feeling that maybe they were, but now he wasn’t sure
Midoriya’s head snapped up and said: “I don’t want to stop being friends with you, Yukitomo.”
“You don’t?” Shoto asked, looking up again.
The green-haired teen shook his head, “No, I still want to be friends. All I was saying before was that I understand that your life must have been hard, and I have no idea what that’s like, but if you ever need to talk, if you ever wanna talk, I’ll listen.”
“Midoriya I-,” Shoto sighed and smiled, “Thank you, Midoriya.”
“You’re welcome.”
XXX
When Shoto got outside the school, Gekko was waiting for him. She rubbed her head against his leg and purred happily. Shoto bent rubbed the top of her head. Gekko also gave Shoto a few nips and licks before heading off.
Once the cat was out of sight, Shoto stood up to head home. He hardly got out of the gates before he heard someone call, “Shoto, hey!” Shoto looked up and saw Dabi. He was smiling ear to ear, waving at Shoto from across the street. Shoto walked over to him as fast as he could.
“You did fucking amazing!” Dabi said as Shoto was halfway to him, “Come on, show me the metal. I think I’m going to have to hang it in the shop right next to your old drawing-”
“I’m so sorry!” Shoto yelled when he got in front of his brother. Dabi’s smile feel, and very quietly he said, “Shoto, kid,”
“I’m so sorry, Dabi,” Shoto “I hadn’t meant for any of it to happen I don’t know what came over me. I should have held back, and I didn’t. I know I put us all in danger, and I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry. Dabi I’m sorry-”
SMACK!
Dabi had slapped him and then pulled Shoto into a tight hug.
“Let’s get one thing straight, kid,” Dabi said, his voice shaking, from what Shoto didn’t know, “You’ve done nothing wrong, got it. You’ve done nothing wrong.”
Shoto didn’t know what to say. He had been ready for yelling and screaming, not this. It just dawned on Shoto how tired he was, how drained he was. It had been a very emotional day, and Shoto just couldn’t hold back anymore. The dam broke, and Shoto began to cry. He cried and gripped the side of Dabi’s jacket. Shoto cried and cried, Dabi holding him tight to his chest. They just stood there on the sidewalk, Shoto just letting it all out.
Once Shoto had calmed down a bit, Dabi wiped some tears away from his younger brother’s face and asked, “Feel better?”
Shoto nodded, and Dabi said, “Good. Now let’s go home.”
XXX
When the two got back to the tattoo parlor, almost everyone who had been there that day was gone. Everyone but the other two Yukitomo siblings, Mrs.Kitabayashi, and Ren and Hotaka.
Shoto had been quiet most of the walk home. Dabi didn’t push him for answers or to talk. They just walked.
When they got inside the shop, Fuyumi rushed to hug Shoto.
“I’m so proud of you!” she said, grinning so wide it looked like her face was going to split in two.
“I’m sorry I missed up,” Dabi heard Shoto whispered.
“I don’t wanna hear that talk,” Fyumi said, letting Shoto out of her embrace. Then it was Ren turn, “Darling, you did wonderfully,” she said, hugging Shoto.
“Thank you, Ren. It’s good to see you.”
“Well done, kid,” Hotaka said, patting Shoto’s shoulder. Next, it was Natsuo to pull Shoto into one of his bone-crushing hugs. Shoto huffed in protest but went ignored. Finally, Mrs.Kitabayashi smiled at him, quickly hug him, and said, “You did wonderfully, dear.”
“Thank you, ma’am,” Shoto said.
“Alright,” Dabi said, “I waited long enough, show us the damn metal!”
“Yeah, Shoto, come on!” Natsuo cherried, “Whip it out.”
They all watched as Shoto fished around in his pockets for a minute or so only to pull out the silver medal. They all cheered and clapped, smiling ear to ear.
“We very proud of you,” Dabi said, resting his hand on Shoto's shoulder.
“Yeah, and I’m not even mad that I lost 6000 yen today,” Natsuo said.
“You what?” Shoto said, looking at him.
“You were betting on our brother?!” Fuyumi growled.
“Oh, what? That’s a bad thing?”
Soon enough, everyone was sitting around eating and giving commentary on the other Sports Festivals. Dabi told Shoto that he recorded he and the Shoto could watch it later. They also busted out the cake that had made, and you almost couldn’t tell that it really said “Congrats on 1st” instead of “Congrats on 2nd”.
“You know silver is much more your color anyway,” Mrs. Kitabayashi said. They all got a good laugh out of that.
After a while, Ren and Hotaka went home, and so did Mrs. Kitabayashi. Then it was just the Yukitomo siblings left. A little later, Dabi’s phone buzzed, and he looked to see a text that said:
Birdman: Hey, come outside quick.
Dabi slipped out quickly, and adjacent from the shop, he saw the winged hero.
“Hey,” the raven-haired man said.
“Hey yourself,” Hawks said, smiling, “I have like thirty seconds before I gotta go again, so I thought I swing by.”
“How noble of you,” Dabi said, crossing his arms.
“Yeah,” Hawks said, “Um, I thought that maybe we could hang out sometime next week. You know, watch the movie, like we were talking about?”
Dabi looked up at the sky like he was thinking about it, “Maybe I could work something out. I’m kinda busy now and days. Might have to just book a few more days just so I can’t give you the free time.”
“Come on,” Hawks said, “You’re killing me here.
“Fine then,” Dabi said, looking back at him, “I free Wednesday night, does that work.”
“It does actually,” Hawks said.
“Good, I’ll be there,” Dabi said. Just then, Hawks’ watched beeped, and Dabi heard the shorter man let out a string of curses, “I got to go.”
“Can I get you something to eat before you leave?” Dabi asked.
“As great as that be,” Hawks said, “It’s not a good idea to eat and fly. Learned that the hard way.”
Dabi bit back a laugh.
“Tell your brother congrats for me,” Hawks said.
“Will do.”
And with Hawks flew off and out of Dabi’s sight. The tattoo artist sight and went back inside. The news was on now, and Shoto’s face was not a good sign.
“What’s wrong?” Dabi asked, sitting down.
“My classmate’s brother,” Shoto said quietly, pointing to the screen as the news anchor talked about the Hero Killer: Stain have attacked the hero Ingenium, and the hero in mention was in critical condition.
Dabi looked at Shoto, who was now looking down at his feet. There was nothing that Dabi could really say to make Shoto feel better about this one. He didn’t think, “Hey, sorry, your friend's brother might die,” way to help.
But then another news story came on. The one from earlier today. Dabi groaned but left it on. Shoto needed to see this. It would help him calm down.
“Hey, look at this,” he said, nudging Shoto. The white-haired teen looked up at the news reporter.
“Now, with more info on a story, we covered earlier today. The Flame Hero Endeavor apprehended a group known criminals earlier today in a raid. The police in the heroes involved, mainly the number two hero and many of his sidekicks, were hoping to find the villains base but to no avail see as it was only a mere hideout. The sketch of the leader of the organization and others is still ongoing.”
Dabi turned to look at Shoto, who leaned back and let out a sigh of relief. It was the first he’d seen Shoto relaxed all day. Dabi smiled, but it soon vanished as he heard the reporter went on.
“We have been given permission to tell you the name of the crime group and their young leader. The Name of the organization is the Demegawa Gray Skulls, and their leader is believed to be a man named Taijo Hayabusa.”
Everyone in the room got quiet. All eyes were on Dabi as he stared at the screen.
“If he even thinks about dragging us into this,” he said slowly, “I will kill him.”
And do know that that was no exaggeration.
