maybe we were destined to fall apart maybe we don’t speak in the same tenses anymore and our bond has been worn down like pages of a book I once loved, reduced to a synopsis of dog-ears and underlining that could never encapsulate the whole story, so many notes scribbled in the margins I can hardly read the original text
maybe we were destined to fall apart maybe we were blinded by the colors we saw in each other hues we were hoping to see in ourselves like your old favorite sweater that I borrowed and never returned, it still smells the same, feels the same but there’s that one loose thread at the center that has the power to unravel the entire piece
maybe we were destined to fall apart but last night I dreamed you were still mine and I woke feeling like maybe all these metaphors for loss are just chapters of someone else’s heartbreak I read about in a book or a piece of someone else’s clothing I tried on that never quite fit

The hope was, apparently, that if the Navy built a defense the Soviets would feel obliged to come up with the threat it was meant to avert. Alas, they didn't. When Senator Stewart Symington, former Air Force Secretary, pointed this out, the military replied that building a defense against a threat that didn't exist insured that the Soviets would never bother creating the threat. Or, if they did, they would waste a lot of money, which was a good thing as they had less of it than the U.S.

Danny is about to be kidnapped in Gotham This is not a good time.
He's studying for the SAT, he's already been kidnapped by Vlad like, four times that week and it was a fucking Tuesday, he forgot his wallet at his new apartment, locked himself out of said new apartment (he could phase through the door but that wasn't the point), he's just been informed that the grant he applied for was denied so he needs to ask his mom and dad for college funds when he'd already told them he had it covered, and just...it was shit.
It had been shit. The entire week had been awful and annoying and he was ready to either murder everyone on the planet or go find a corner to cry in for the next three days.
So when the band of wild goons working for whatever villain of the week pulled up and tried to kidnap him, he snapped.
He used them to vent.
Shouted about how terrible his day had been, how terrible his week had been, how he'd already been kidnapped by his creepy godfather who was way too into him, how college funding was shit and the grant system was rigged, and how he'd have to call a locksmith or break down the door to his own apartment if he wanted to go to bed-all of it. He unloaded all of his frustration.
The goons actually backed off.
One of them gave him an awkward side hug and told him it'd get better.
Danny wasn't paying attention to his surrounding. He doesn't realize that the whole thing was livestreamed.
So when he gets home to his apartment later that day, his door is opened for him by the vigilante Spoiler before he can even turn intangible.
She brought over BatBurger and kidnapped Bruce Wayne, Gotham's bumbling Prince, to talk about college grants.

So, just curious how many writers and creators will have to be forcibly outed by relentless harassment before we acknowledge that "This queer characters was written by a cishet person and that's why they're bad" is not good criticism.

How Did We Get There?
How Did We Get There?-Russell Mark and Shauntell Williams were so in love just months ago. They were so warm and full of laughter, and love. So how the hell did they here.
The bed might as well have been a block of ice. With her back to Russell, Shauntell stared straight ahead at the blank wall.   She didn’t say anything and honestly, she didn’t need to; her position in the bed, back to Russell, knees curled into her chest, did all the talking for her. The little space between Russell and Shauntell might as well have been the Pacific Ocean for all Russell was…

okay but like. I just had the weirdest thought about that ‘don’t look I’m naked’ comic. Which is that that’s essentially the same thing Adam and Eve did after they ate the fruit of knowledge of good&evil. So I feel like the theological implications of that could kneecap Gabe if he doesn’t think V1 is a being with free will.
yeah ok. i dunno man. is this anything
((side note. this isn’t necessarily meant to be in-character or story-accurate or take place at any particular point in time, just a way to explore some Thoughts. i was also imagining more that V1’s words aren't actually spoken, more like Gabriel’s more articulate interpretation of whatever garbled mechanical noise V1 is using to communicate. I think an angel could do that.))

Btw we do all have to promise to not ship Walker and Leah. Like the very first thing we found out about Leah was that Rick said "we cast for Annabeth based first and foremost on onscreen chemistry with Walker Scobell" or however he said it and after this week I can absolutely see it.
Like up to this point I've liked her because she clearly did her research and understands the character and the story, but as of this episode, I understand why Leah Sava Jeffries was cast over every other young actress who has also read and analyzed the books and tried her level best. Because her relationship with the male lead is so important to the lifeblood of this story that is going to last years and years. And they had to cast the person who had the best onscreen chemistry with Walker Scobell.
But these are actors. It is not real. We see interviews with them and there are shades of their characters in their interactions but this is either coincidence or played up so people will talk about it online or both. In real life this is their job. They have other friends and their own families and maybe even people they like who aren't famous. It is none of our business.
And, if five years from now they do actually decide to date, because it's happened to others and sure it's a possibility, I don't want to know. I don't want anybody to know and I don't want anybody to care. Hot damn the casting for this television adaptation was incredible but that is all that it is. There are real people involved who go home at the end of the day.

As they had been subverting governments and winning wars for so long, President Kennedy believed them. Had he looked at their records more closely he might not have. The CIA did indeed help overthrow the governments of Iran, Guatemala, and Laos. But they had also tried and failed in Costa Rica, Burma, and Indonesia. The Joint Chiefs, Kennedy would discover, automatically favored every hostile act. Their consent meant less than nothing.
