Sorry if you dont like me ranting in your inbox like this but your recent post really resonated with me
My old school was literally named after having a community, and it was all about community and loving each other and whatever. But it had such an...outcast- I suppose- problem that the staff literally barely did anything about. The students outcasted the "weird" ones (like me) and we always were made fun of. The school was very obviously against blatant bigotry, but they were really bad with anything discreet, even when they were told directly about it by kids like me. You know it's bad when the students literally felt safe enough to say the n slur (a white kid said it, against a poc) multiple times. Yet it always seemed they cared more about kids writing in the stalls in the bathrooms than the community they always preached about. (Literally they made a whole "write your name and time you went to and came back from the bathroom" thing because of that yet did a horrible job at "fixing" the bullying/outcast problem) Hell! My mom said how she got a little annoyed too that she was never invited to or told about the facebook group that the parents apparently had despite the school being all about community. One year, the year I left, the year that was too much for me, last school year, several new kids joined the school. Apparently they were a lot more blatantly bigoted and bulliers, and rubbed off on a lot of the other students there. So suddenly they had a big bullying problem ("oh no the outcast problem we've been told about so much is now too obvious to keep avoiding") Yet they still did barely anything about it. They acted like they were trying but they really weren't doing a good job. So much of the pressure was put on the teachers (god bless those teachers btw, especially the ELA teacher, they were literally the sweetest teachers I've ever known I hope they never have to deal with something like that again), who couldn't do much because they didn't have enough power. Also the teachers were struggling to teach (and they made lessons fun!!!!) bc of the students :( I was being very blatantly verbally bullied near the end of my time there, and I remember my bully shouting out her mean comments very loudly in class (while the teacher was trying to be silly with me). And I could see the teacher know he couldn't do anything except say "just ignore it." I could tell he wanted to do more to help but... he literally couldn't. Because guess who was ignoring it? The fucking staff. The motherfuckers who talked about community soooo much Oh yeah also very very blatantly ableism last year against another classmate of mine (or well, wouldn't come across as ableism to people who wouldn't know why but definitely obvious bullying), and the staff handled it so horribly (I could rant about another thing here but you probably dont wanna hear it and this has already gone on too long lol)
Very very sorry if this was tmi/oversharing or something it's just that what you said in that post sounded like it would've come directly from my mouth so I felt like sharing /gen
(I'd get if you didn't wanna post this btw 😅)
yes, this is exactly what i mean when i say that while individuals might care, schools as a whole generally don't. I'm so sorry your school experience was so bad, that sort of thing shapes so many aspects of your life going forward and in my opinion, it's extremely important for children and teens to have positive experiences at school.
my inbox is available for people to rant in, it's okay <3

Okay, okay, so I started several canon lore opinion polls The other day (still got a few days left; also Tumblr knows allowing me multiple polls on one post would be too OP), and one of things I asked people about is what they would prefer Lestat and Louis to be addressed as. So far, the canon “Prince and Prince Consort” seems to be the leading opinion amongst the ten or so people who’ve answered, but I was thinking… Lestat was chosen as prince before taking The Sacred Core, but after… I feel like he earned the right to be called the vampire king (since Mekare was queen), thus making Louis his queen (or still prince consort) perhaps. I know it’s silly, and maybe in universe, someone probably suggested the elevated title to Lestat and he said no because prince is formal enough. Yes, I’m here to speculate how they’ll go about it in the show. Vampire King Lestat is cool and all, but unfortunately some people will find it offensive to have a white vampire king (I’m mixed race and I don’t care as long as Lestat does a good job geez everybody chill) but like… I don’t know! Let the husbands be King and King Consort to shake it up? Besides, maybe we can finally see Lestat and Louis as equals finally, as intended. I mean… Louis at this point is almost as powerful as Lestat. Can you imagine, the end of the journey, together as equals in not only the quiet dark, but in the face of many? And Lestat can finally tell people that Louis is his husband? I’m sorry for the mini rambling rant. I think I need to get more sleep…
Hmmmmmm :))) (Hope you got sleep now?^^)
Ok, so... hmm.
Within the context of the tale/universe Mekare (or Amel) chose Lestat as the successor, so he literally became the "king", true. For a while :))
Louis at that later point is almost as powerful as Lestat, and I bet they're also sharing blood regularly.
There is this term in the later books, "Blood Spouse", "Blood Wife" (and, by extension there must be a "Blood Husband"), and I can see them call each other that, easily.
Anne described their wedding on Facebook, too, so they are definitely on married status.
I'm pretty sure that Louis' status as "consort" and Blood Husband was more than clear at the end. He's the only one with any real power over Lestat after all *laughs*
I know what you mean here (re the titles), but... I'm unsure if the show will go here tbh. IF they do I bet there'll be some ribbing in regards to Lestat becoming the King after the events of Prince Lestat (I'd love that, preferably by Armand *coughs*), but... given his canon reluctance to even accept "prince" I bet he'd not want to be called that.
Sooooo in regards to Louis.... I think I would also (boringly I know) go with the "Prince and Prince Consort" thing... sorry^^^. And I think the show will likely stay within that canon context as well, IF they even go there. (Not meaning the book content itself here, we KNOW they already go there after all).
But I really want Lestat to introduce Louis to the older ones, like Gregory (for example), as his "Blood Husband".
Proudly.
I'd LOVE that.

A lot's been on my mind...
A lot of it either feel I can't really talk about or it's personal stuff that I prefer to keep private.
I will say this though: the rate AI is advancing if absolutely terrifying me.
Now, normally I prefer to keep posts as short as possible, so I because this is a rant and kind of spur of the moment (and also a long time coming), so I legit have no idea how long I'm going to run on this
Also want to point out before I get into all this, I don't hate AI, but the ways it's being used.
*TL;DR at the end.
Now, let me clarify, this is not just about the image generators, but everything involving itself in creative fields and possibly beyond. We're basically at the point where you can't tell what's real anymore. I say this as I just prior to me starting to write (March 27th) this I read an article regarding an AI generated pic of the pope that fooled a lot of people.
Then there's the issue that many artist were worried about in regards to losing work to AI. It's already happening, though currently in a different field: modeling. Basically, Levi's is going about testing AI generated models and claiming to do so in the name of 'diversity.'
And probably the biggest issue is people either remain ignorant to what's going on, don't care what's going on, or want AI to take control of everything.
I say of the former two (and basically everyone for that matter), you really should both learn and stay informed as best you can as this is an issue that has an effect on everyone. I also say this as someone who's looked a little further into how some of this tech (image generators specifically) work. Also be aware, just like anything on the internet, there'll be misinformation, so you probably shouldn't take one source as a definitive final answer (This includes myself as I'm just as prone to making mistakes and having bias as anyone else). On top on that, for the love of god, don't get your info from Twitter or Facebook.
Now, as for the latter, I highly doubt it's going to end up being a case of you being free to sit around and play video games all day. If you're hedging on the idea of UBI and live in the US or anyplace where government greed an lobbying is rampant, it's more likely you'll get barely enough to squeeze by, if anything at all.
Now, while none of these problems have easy solutions, there are those that are working for and in favor of people and human generated content. With lawsuits against image and text AI generators and with a group working on software that messes with image outputs I am somewhat hopeful that protections and more ways to fight back will come around.
In the mean time, I'm still going to work my craft, and you should too.
And by that I kind of also mean I'm gonna try to stop holding back on stuff just because I don't have a proper watermark yet. It's another thing that's going to take a while, especially since I'm going to be working with new software for this. In the mean time, I recommend if you do any sort of visual art you do the same thing too. Unfortunately for writers and coders, I don't have any suggestions as that's not my area of expertise (but don't take this as me saying, 'oh, ur on ur own, lol').
Now, admittedly, since I began writing this, some new info has come to light (*insert slowpoke meme here*). Apparently over 1,000 tech leaders, including Elon Musk (if even he is campaigning for this, then something is up), signed a letter on the topic of slowing down or even halting AI development. This is potentially good, but too be fair, it doesn't stop the damage that's already been done.
Like I said above, I'm hoping that protections for people from AI will become a thing.
Sorry if this seems like a downer ending, but I don't really know what else to say, and I'm not really a writer or journalist. This isn't the last I'll be talking about stuff like this though.
TL;DR:
AI is already affecting credibility and people's jobs.
Don't just take something on person of side says as truth; try to find a credible source (i.e., not Twitter or Facebook).
UBI is not an end all solution, especially if your government is known for it's greed.
There are people trying to curb some of ethical the issues from AI.
Keep creating, no matter what.
Tech leaders are campaigning for a slowdown/halting of AI development.
This won't be the last time I bring up stuff like this.

June 2021, when I'd been in the fandom for barely 2 months, I wrote this post on Facebook to a lot of my irl. It has more to do with casting in movies, but it was triggered by talk around My Policeman. Thought I'd put it here now too.
"I just want to put this out there about something that's been bothering me for a couple of years now.
I've always felt that the discourse of "casting queer actors for queers roles" invalidates SO many experiences. Of course, I love seeing openly queer people representing queer people in media! Hell yeah, give me that representation! Flaunt it! Be proud! YES!
But now... for the sake of my argument, I'll use Call Me by Your Name and Timothée Chalamet's outstanding representation of Elio Perlman, a young queer man. He gave us one of the best performances of the decade, which was recognized by multiple awards organizations, and if you haven't watched this film, what are you doing with your life? ANYHOW! Shortly after, people and the media started speculating about his sexuality and there was even that one time when he was on Ellen's show and she said something along the lines "because you're straight, right?" and kept going with the question or whatever, and Timmy just sat there, in one of his first big TV appearances, nodding. NOW, he might be straight, sure, but my thing is... WHY DO WE ASSUME SOMEONE'S STRAIGHT UNTIL THEY'VE SAID OTHERWISE? Why is heterosexuality the default sexuality? How regressive is that? Can we stop?!
What about actors that are "still in the closet"? Or actors that don't have the need to tell the whole wide world that they're queer just to feel like they deserve to represent queer characters? What about actors that have been purposefully closeted by the industry they're in and have had a straight image pushed onto them for years?
Okay, Jules, what happened? Why all of this now? Well, today, David Dawson, an English actor who's currently working on a gay film called "My Policeman" alongside Emma Corrin and Harry Styles, sent in a video to a Pride event where he mentions that "he's so proud" to be part of the LGBTQ+ community. I was a little confused about people freaking out and congratulating him for coming out, because I thought he was already publicly out. This was my impression when I did a bit of research on him when the cast was announced. Well, apparently not, but I'm proud of my brain for not assuming he was straight, ha! I don't follow his career that closely but apparently people were giving him shit for being a straight man playing a gay role, etc. So there you have it! Like him, so many others! You know who else is getting shit for the same reason? Harry Styles. "Another straight man in a gay role!" Uhm, you are not paying attention AT ALL if you think Harry isn't queer, sweetie, I'm sorry. But that's another LONG story I won't get into.
At the end of the day, I want to see movies and series that have queer characters portrayed by amazing actors, and I don't need them to be "out" for me to be like "oh, yes, I'll believe their performance now". That's not how it works. Let's stop invalidating people's experiences because of societal rules of how things are supposed to go down. Some people might be made to feel less-than because they can't/won't/don't want to be screaming their sexuality in order to be valid.
Oh, and I'm also here for queer actors playing non-queer roles because that is the beauty of ACTING! Maybe we should advocate for more queer voices behind the camera, don't you think?
I always say I hope I'm alive to see the day when no one has the need to "come out", and people can be who they want to be. The day when there's no more "default sexuality", i.e. straight. Just you, being human. Period.
Rant over. Listen to #OnlyTheBrave.
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!"

This is almost completely incorrect. I'm a Quinnie who's been here since the very beggining and here's the story.
There's never been a jq account who "wouldn't really give any updates on Joseph that much unless Grace was involved or they were just reposting Grace and Joseph duo pics." There was Cami, aka bestofjq, who was constantly harassed because of the things she shared or not shared since day one. Grace's fans were harassing her on the grounds that she had not posted anything about Grace, that she had said nothing about the harassment Grace was facing as the biggest jq account, and therefore was involved in this smear campaign. And Quinnies were harassing her because... god knows why. There was pretty much nothing for them to attack as I remember but Cami once shared dozens of messages insulting her, threatening her, telling her to kill herself, and they sent from both Joe's and Grace's fans.
Then, before the Paris con, Cami made a statement saying that she had not shared anything about Grace until that day because she was afraid of the reactions from the fandom, but now she would put an end to it, that weekend she would share every content containing Joseph - even if Grace was there - and block those who kept harassing her. Things went south from there.
Cami wasn't a vq but she became friends with them because they took Cami under their wings after she started sharing photos of Joe with Grace. And no, there was no decrease or disrupture in her updates on Joe, and she posted Grace as much as she posted Jamie, but even one post containing Grace was too much for the Quinnies, so they started to say she's a vq. The account was subjected to many attacks afterward. They accused Cami of being a disrespectful stalker for sharing photos from public Instagram accounts, as if they weren't the ones who found Joe's childhood photos from his relatives' Facebook accounts that summer. They said she was an insensitive horrible person because she didn't post about various problems in the world etc. So Cami couldn't handle all this hate and closed the account and left.
Then someone started a new jq update account, they said and I quote "i’m not a joint update, or a grace update account. if you do not like that please block me! i’m not going to feed into this and become what bestofjosephq did" Again, contrary to the narrative created by the fandom, Cami wasn't acting like a joint account. She was just posting throwbacks of Grace and Joe's panels etc. just like she did with Jamie or Joe's other friends and costars.
Since people went after Cami for not talking about the problems in the world, Grace's fans started to go after this new account for the same reason. There was this one person who has tweeted "we're on day x and no tweets from this account about any of the world issues" literally every day for months.
Sorry for the rant but I wanted to correct some things.
All good. This + the other anon paints the picture pretty well I think.

Hey Steph! I don't know why I'm telling you this but I guess I need someone to talk to and you make me feel welcome and valid so here you go. I just found out that my grandma - who I've been looking up to for basically my whole life - is homophobic. We never talked about it before and I always thought she was really open (we once talked about shipping johnlock after we watched sherlock together and she said that they are gay and in love so I thought she was okay with it). She was actually the person I considered coming out to first but since she now told me that being gay is a sin and it's harmful for children and whatever I guess that's that. In addition to that I also found out she's anti-vax and thinks that the vaccination is worse than covid. It makes me so sad because with her age and physical state she's definitely at risk of dying if she gets it but she doesn't want to listen to the rest of the family. She believes in some conspiracy theories and she's beginning to support the far right party in our country which is against vaccination, against LGBTQ+, against immigration ... you get it. Yeah and what's worst: My grandma seriously compared her being "attacked" for being anti-vax with the persecution of jewish people in world war two. Like wtf ... she has always been one of the nicest people I know and I can't understand what's suddenly happened to her or if she has secretly always thought like that. But it breaks my heart and I don't know what to do. If she was a stranger I'd probably hate her for the things she has been saying those past days and weeks (some are really ... so extreme and insulting) but she's my grandma and she has always been there for me when I was at my lowest. I just ... I don't get it. Yeah, I guess that's it - sorry for the rant. I just needed to tell someone because I have no idea how to react to this. I can't talk to her about it because she instantly goes into "attack-mode" and it makes me so sad and angry. Yeah, anyways. Thanks for being there and listening - your blog's really like a safe haven. Lots of love 💕
Hey Nonny *HUGS*
I'm so sorry you're dealing with this... My guess is that she ended up on targeted disinformation advertising on Facebook in one of her groups, or one of her friends slowly indoctrinated her into that horrific way of thinking.... Things like that always start very inconspicuously, little by little, and often the victim doesn't realize they've gotten into a rabbit hole and have been radicalized. And once that happens, she has to be open to discussion, which right now seems like she doesn't, because many people, when you question their beliefs, go on the offensive immediately.
Chances are she WASN'T homophobic until that radicalization, hence the odd sudden change in attitude.
I'm sorry that that has happened, especially with a beloved family member, and I wish I had better solutions for you to cope or advice to give you in general. I really don't, sadly; I don't deal well with confrontation or dissension, so I tend to just... ignore or avoid people like that. My mother became a fucking hot mess after our whole shitshow and I tried for too long to see eye to eye with her, and it just wasn't worth my mental health, so I don't do that shit anymore. I cut her out of my life, and it hurt a lot, but I had to. And you may have to do the same. It sucks, but you need to think about you.
Anyway, I hope that this whole snafu doesn't end up hurting you too much. Please stay safe and take care of you, first.
*HUGS* love you Nonny.

Love & Letter: To The Thirteen Boys I've Loved Before
The Second Letter
----------------
Tumblr media
To: Yoon Jeonghan
From: Y/N
Dear Jeonghan,
I hope everything's going well with you, wherever you are. I'm writing you a letter without knowing where you are so even if I did ever decide to send this letter, I wouldn't know where to mail it.
Are you doing well? Why don't you call me? Contact me somehow? Why don't you say something to me? Don't you have anything you want to say to me? Oh right, you don't have my number. I don't know any of your social media accounts and you don't know any of mine. I can search on Facebook for you, through a thousand different “Yoon Jeonghan” profiles, but what would be the point?
Actually, I'm angry with you. I'm really angry and I'm a bit heartbroken too because you just took my heart and left.
Why didn't you tell me beforehand?
I waited for you to return. I spent the rest of my freshman year waiting and I even waited through my summer break, hoping that maybe you'd come back or send a letter. School starts in a month and you still aren't here. I don't know what I feel toward you anymore because you're gone. Do I love you since I'm angry at you like this?
From the first day we met, I could tell we didn't match. I don't even know why you pursued me. You joined the basketball team and whenever you had games, you wanted me to come to watch. I didn't know why so I refused the first few games.
We had many classes together, you know that. Did you use the advantage of being in the same classes as me to try to get to know me? What were your intentions when you asked me if I had lunch? Why did you always ask my friends if I was eating well?
I have so many questions I'm dying to ask now that you're gone. One day you were laughing, joking with me while I watched you practice basketball and the next day you suddenly disappeared. One day of absence turned into months, then half a year. I didn't want to ask but I was dying to know.
Then, the answer finally came.
You moved?
Why didn't you tell me anything?
I thought we were developing something special, was that only me? I thought that you liked me, that's why you did so many things to me, making my heart race and pound. Am I wrong?
If I am wrong, why did you do it?
Maybe I'm completely getting the wrong idea and the sudden move wasn't your fault. I bet that it wasn't your fault. I'm just angry that you didn't inform me. Not everyone moves houses in one day, it takes a lot of planning, doesn't it?
Now I'm just left here, confused.
Now I'm just left here, reminiscing about my second love that disappeared. I'm still remembering the first day we met when you bumped into me at the stairs and held me to keep me from falling backward.
Jeonghan, just, where did you go?
I know this message will never reach you anyway, anyhow, so I'll tell you this much.
Because of you, I changed. Hanging out around a mischievous guy like you made me pick up your habits. Before I knew it, I was playing small pranks on my dad and enjoying it, just like when you and I teamed up to prank the gym teacher into thinking that he had sat on a freshly painted bench. I can still remember how long I laughed because of it.
I still have the pen that you forgot when you were here to study with me. My father constantly asks me where you are and I always reply that I don't know because I don't know.
You came by twice every week for three months because you wanted me to tutor you. I don't know if I became a sheep to you but even though I knew you were gifted intelligent, I tutored you anyway. Jeonghan, you were one of those people who didn't need to study to ace a test. Even your methods of trickery are intelligent.
So as I reminisce, I also wonder why you would do something like that if you didn't like me. You were the one who told me that all men act like this, wanting to be around someone, making up excuses to stay close, and doing things they won't normally do if they like someone. Was that all a trick, Jeonghan?
Not only did you study with me but you studied the times that my dad was gone and came by when he wasn't here. You were respectful toward my dad and kind too, so I wondered how you could have such a naughty nature but at the same time be so caring.
It was one of those days when my dad went to work that you came over. Look, I was so confused that's why I kept stuttering. I knew that you weren't supposed to be at my house at that time of night so we stayed on the porch, gazing at the fallen sky. What were you thinking about? You stared for a long time and didn't say a word. It was the middle of winter too and you came by with your hands tucked in your puffy black jacket with your nose cutely red. You remember this night, don't you? If you don't, I'd go even more nuts than I did.
Why did you kiss me that night?
I mean, we weren't even talking, just gazing at the sky where stars were barely visible. Then all of a sudden, you said, “Look at me.”
I turned to you and then all of a sudden, you kissed me. I honestly didn't expect to get a kiss this early in my life and for it to be from you, the second love who disappeared, I can't be any more disappointed.
Jeonghan, the thief.
Your lips were cold at first but then they grew warm. I'm also sorry if I didn't know how to kiss. I just went with the flow and followed the way your thin lips moved against mine. Your hand also touched my neck as you kissed me, I could still feel the warmth of it lingering on my skin.
After you left that night after kissing me quietly, making my heart burn in the cold night, you stroked my hair. I ran inside my room and rolled on my bed, wanting to scream on my bedsheets because my lips have finally been pressed against another man. A boy that I liked at that.
How about you?
Do you think about that night at all?
It was about two days before you moved away.
Strangely, the next days, you continued to talk to me as if you didn't kiss me the days before. I was confused but since I was naive, I just believed that's how it went for everybody.
Also, because of that kiss, I began to notice your gaze. Maybe I could have noticed something in those two days before your departure. I just remember seeing you gazing at me with different eyes. I want to believe that you had fallen for me, but because of you, I'm being delusional like this.
The only way to know is when you finally decide to speak it true somewhere and it reaches me.
In this letter to you, I just can't help expressing the emotions I'm feeling. I have nowhere else to rant and I need you to know about my feelings though you'll never receive this letter.
Gosh, writing this letter makes me remember the weekend that you took me biking on a couple bicycle. Why did you ask me to go with you when you were leaving the next day? It's not like you at all. Knowing you for those short six months, you would have just told me with a pitiful face, “I'm going to move.”
Instead, you kissed me and decided to take me biking. I can still remember that grin on your face when you came to my house and said, “Hop on, Y/N.”
The wind that hit my face that day was amazing and my heart was racing just to have my hands around your waist.
Because of you, I became rebellious for the first time. I never disobeyed my father. He told me to go buy groceries that day and I went on a bike ride with you, enjoying the chilly winter breeze and ditching groceries. When we arrived at the basketball court, I watched and played a bit of basketball with you. Do you know what that means, Jeonghan?
Were you aware this whole time of my feelings? I know you can read other people's expressions well.
I can't understand you, Jeonghan. I don't think I ever will unless you come back and tell me.
I won't believe what any of your friends say even if it's the only source I have. ‘You moved away because a different high school was giving you bigger opportunities’, how am I supposed to believe that? In the middle of the school year?
Now, all I can do is sigh.
I won't wait for you anymore. That's why I'm just going to leave it. I loved you. Now, you're just one of the boys I've loved. I'm not going to spend the rest of my summer waiting to find a needle in a haystack.
I'll remember how I loved you. I'll remember how you changed me. I'll remember how loving you changed me.
I'll wonder sometimes about what we could have been if you didn't leave. If you didn't leave, I think I would have still been in love with you. Now, I'm pretty sure I would still be in love with you, at least for a little longer.
Please, send me a letter.
I know the chances are low.
I'm still angry at you for not telling me. If you did like me and think you did it for our own good, you're wrong. At least I wouldn't have had to wait and worry for the weeks that you disappeared that your life's clock stopped ticking. If you did tell me beforehand, I would have known that you'd be fine and that you were just moving away.
Did you have no faith in us?
Or did you really find a better opportunity in a better high school somewhere far away?
I'm still angry.
Is this what you call ‘the one that got away’?
Anyway, I don't love you now, but if you come back, I might again. I can't make up my mind.
I miss you, Jeonghan.
Sincerely,
Y/N

Going to delete ask posts that directly linked other people's posts, based on this feedback and suggestion (which I thoroughly appreciate!), as I'm not trying to point fingers at anyone or directly tell a specific person they're wrong. I'll repost the general content, with a summary of what was asked, starting with this post.
Anon Ask: Some people are saying that SJM has confirmed Vassien by saying that she'd like to do retellings of firebird legends, swan lake, and Vasilisa the Beautiful, using some shots of her comments. What are your thoughts on this? And the time on facebook that Sarah said E\ain and Lucien have a lot of "tension, growth, and healing to be found (together)".
The most important thing to consider here is timeline. Both of the twitter shown were made in April of 2015. The first one is, honestly, fairly irrelevant. First of all, she's just saying fairy tales she might like to retell. And, for the record, she has also said she'd like to do a retelling of The Little Mermaid, yet often people disregard that as an argument for Gwynriel. So, either her comments on what she'd like to do a retelling of matter, or they don't.
And, if they're saying that those comments are foreshadowing a Vassa + Lucien book, then clearly The Little Mermaid comments are foreshadowing a Gwynriel book. And then...where's E\ain's?
E\ain is getting a book, so which fairy tale gets the short straw?
Or, maybe, the story won't be exactly like the fairy tale.
I do think that both of those comments are important, but Sarah said she wants to do a retelling.
That could literally mean anything. All that tells us is that she will take themes and ideas from the story. I'm not saying Vassa won't be important in a later book, but Sarah can retell the story any way. She could have Vassa betray E\ain, get Koschei to transfer the curse over to the middle Archeron, and now E\ain is the swan on the lake (cause, come on, E\ain's def. a bit swan-like), and Lucien has to rescue her. Or, maybe Jurian is the one that rescues Vassa while Lucien and E\ain deal with Koschei?
There are so many options in a retelling that to say SJM telling us she wants to do a retelling of these stories is a clear sign that Vassa + Lucien are endgame is, honestly, not a very critical analysis.
I'm going to address this tweet next:
Tumblr media
This twitter exchange happed April 30, 2015. ACOMAF was published in May of 2016. This post can not be used as foreshadowing of Vassa + Lucien, because it happened before we found out E\ain and Lucien are mates. That "at some point further down the road" literally means "any time after book 1".
People keep using this tweet and presenting it as if Sarah's response came recently. They're spreading misinformation - it may not be purposeful, they may not have seen or noticed the date, but this twitter exchange can't be used as proof that Lucien's person has to be someone other than E\ain, because when it was made we did not know about the Lucien and E\ain possibility.
That doesn't mean it definitely is talking about E\ain, but my point is that this is not proof of Vassa + Lucien, of someone else + Lucien, because of when it was posted.
As for other comments on retellings Sarah would like to do - it's the same argument as the first one. Sarah said she wants to do a retelling of the firebird and swan like. We all know this. It's not new information. People who are saying Vassa + Lucien won't happen aren't ignorant of this fact. We're well aware, and we're also well aware of every other thing Sarah has said, mentioned, foreshadowed, and we're tying it all together. Focusing solely on stories Sarah has mentioned she'd like to retell - not confirmed she will retell - and ignoring everything else doesn't provide a solid analysis. You have to weave how those stories would fit into the grander scheme, and look at the other surrounding factors as well.
And, again, we need to remember that Sarah can do whatever the hell she wants in terms of the story and how she chooses to retell a fairy tale. I mean, how often is Little Red Riding Hood turned into a werewolf story? And sometimes even Red is the wolf?
Writers use fairy tales as a base, a foundation, but then they make it their own. No writer is going to tell the fairy tale exactly how it first was. They're going to adjust it...a lot...to make it their own story.
I'd also like to point out that both times she mentions Vasilisa, she says "Vasilisa the Beautiful". The first time she also said 'the Brave', but the second, solely 'Beautiful'. Vassa is beautiful, of course, but one of E\ain's defining characteristics is her beauty. Even in ACOSF it was again mentioned, discussed, about how her beauty made others hate her.
Could Vassa be Vasilisa...of course. However, I think people are a bit blinded by the similarities in names. Remember, Vasilisa the Beautiful wasn't the firebird - those are different stories. And, honestly, after doing a bit of research into the tale, I'm starting to get more and more sure of the thought that the character who would portray Vasilisa is E\ain.
I think I'm going to do a post on it...
In the later comment on retellings she'd like to do - which we know came after the first as the first came out in August 2015 and that story she's telling was given after the second set of books was confirmed - I also find it interesting that she said Vasilisa the Beautiful (specifically) and Swan Lake, subbing out the firebird.
Why would she do that? Perhaps because she's already brought in the firebird pieces she planned to bring in. We already know that retelling, and how it's come to play. Vassa is a firebird by the curse.
I'm not saying it couldn't end in a Swan Lake thing, as that is what the curse reminds me of. But, personally, I think the fact that she's saying Swan Lake now is also symbolic of something more, possibly another character getting trapped by Koschei.
As for the other piece you asked about, I don't have much to say about it, because it feels like the closest we'll come to an elucien confirmation.
That was also posted a while ago, back when ACOMAF came out. So, it's not like this is recent information Sarah is providing us. However, we know that Sarah can sometimes end up choosing endgame based on gut and things that just hit her. Cassian and Nesta - literally didn't know about them until she wrote them on the same page and was like "oh shit". So Sarah saying that she and Lucien didn't see E\ain coming...I'm sorry, but that feels almost more telling than even the next part of the sentence - where she says they have growing and healing to do together.
That's so huge. And we haven't seen that yet. We've only really seen the tension.
Sarah said this back when ACOMAF came out. And it was around writing or publishing ACOWAR that she got the okay for the second set of books (I think?). Which means she was likely thinking about the longer-term stories before that. Which would explain why we didn't get that growth and healing in ACOWAR.
Instead, she left them in a spot where it seemed like a possibility, and then for the later books has just added more tension. But that journey is still there. She's had it planned for so long. And yes, maybe she could change her mind, but we only know of two cases where she did just that:
Az and Mor
Nesta and Lucien
For Az and Mor it was because she decided to make Mor bisexual and unable to be in an emotional relationship with a male. This was due to complaints over diversity. It's the closest Sarah's probably come to 'fanservice' - except, admittedly, this is so not fanservice. Fanservice is doing something like, say, having Voldemort and Bellatrix have a secret love child despite the fact that Voldy never once came off as having any form of romantic or sexual feelings for her or anyone, ever. (Seriously, that guy was asexual and that is a hill I'll die on.)
Adjusting a character due to legitimate complaints and concerns on diversity, not just fanservice. It's more a full on social service, really, to try and provide that representation better. Yes, it wasn't done in the best way, but she did make an attempt.
The second one - Nesta and Lucien. That was her general plan, until she put Nesta and Cassian on page together. Then it all went out the window. Just like all of Nesta's thoughts when she saw Cassian. Just like Cassian's entire brain when he saw Nesta. 👀
And we get it, because we see it too.
So, while Sarah could have changed her mind about E\ain and Lucien, the only reasons she'd do that don't yet apply. She's already made a change for the diversity complaints, and I don't see her doing that with these two. As for finding out they actually belong with someone else when she sees them on page - well, that hasn't happened yet. She made the E\ain + Lucien decision after we see E\ain and Azriel interact, so clearly Az is not that for E\ain. And we've seen Lucien and Vassa on page together. There's nothing there except Lucien being pained about her curse - which, yeah, she's his friend. How often is one IC member described as looking pained for another? Or thinks about how much it hurt them to see their friend hurt?
But we know what it looks like when the chemistry is so undeniable it will adjust Sarah's plans. And if you're not sure - go back and read all the Nessian scenes in ACOMAF. And then see the one scene where Lucien and Vassa are on page together - I think you'll find there's another male there that, with Vassa, rings closer to the Nessian home.
There was no on page chemistry between Vassa and Lucien, and certainly not enough to change Sarah's mind. Which would also mean E\ain already wasn't meant for Az, which is likely why no one arguing for Vassa + Lucien seems to care as much about that, because most people who ship them are already dead set on E\ain + Azriel.
So, there you have it, my point of view/rant on those two pieces. But it's always important to look at the context of a post, and especially the "source material" people use to provide proof. It's why I tend to stick to the text where I can, and only use SJM statements that don't have an expiration date to their importance. SJM saying something about how she loves happily ever afters, for example, no expiration date. SJM telling us in 2015 that there is someone special for Lucien down the road - an expiration date after the first sign of a possible love interest for Lucien. Once E\ain was declared to be his mate, that statement became irrelevant, because regardless of whether it will be E\ain or not, you can no longer state that it's clearly hinting at someone else, since E\ain is a love interest for Lucien.

Tumblr media
(i really don't like getting involved with hate and drama but i just have to answer because hate anons really piss me the fuck off and they have ruined my mental health and wellbeing and have been 95% of the reason why i have taken so many mental health breaks so occasionally. i have blocked them now because my blog is a safe space and everyone will always be treated equally and with as much love and positivity as possible. and i'm sorry you all have to deal with this straight after i post my follower event post.)
i'm sorry. are you 5 years old? can you not spell because? did you have to use it the way 11 year olds text?
not everything comes for free you know?? that's not how life works.
i have worked very hard and have spent so many long tiring hours to get to where i am today and to meet all the lovely people on here that i have met.
and i'm sorry that you feel unappreciated on your blog but i don't manage tumblr's algorithm so there's nothing i can do about that.
but then again, there is a filter tag that you can filter different topics, but you should have expected to see lots of blogs on here 'simping' as you put it, over people/fictional characters. i mean come on. this is literally a blog site. what did you expect it to be like? facebook?
most people on this blog come to rant about their personal problems or rant about how much they love/hate their favourite fictional characters/actors because believe it or not. this isn't twitter. we don't want any of twitters rude people who come on anon to spread hate. we all feel safe on here. in fact this is the closest thing i have to an actual family. because EVERYONE here is SO FUCKING LOVELY.
once again i'm sorry you feel underappreciated i'm sure whatever you post is lovely but now that you've deliberately come onto my blog on anon to spread hate could not have show just how cruel of a person you are.
i'm sorry to all my followers and people who interact with me for seeing this side of me but i cannot tolerate this, and i have tried to act as responsible and not get too hot headed about this situation.

Hello there, I noticed your total miss in tumblr, did you move to another site? Probably you won't even answer this... But anyway, what are your thoughts about svtfoe after 2 years? I'm asking you because you threw shit in the show since S3 and despite I liked the show, you were in the right. I've been reading some starco fans that try at all costs to depict the show as good, but in the long run, they don't even convince me, I know the show has a good handful of mistakes. That's why.... I would like to know your opinion only if you can. Thanks
Hello.... Sorry, I’m answering months later, I know I've been gone from tumblr for a long time, my last activity here was sharing stuff to a guy who I follow for a fanfic xD I moved on from the show, now I follow amphibia, so much better without the shipping shit, svtfoe was bad and it’s better to let it die forgotten as it is while we wait for a reboot that fixes the “movie” and onwards from that point (like avoid forcing marco in mewni with no good reason, or not make others retarded so that star can “shine” as the MC), and also I moved out to twitter (just search for me and you will find me there), but even there my activity has fallen for some reasons: 1. The most important: I'm working now, I mean like real life work, sadly I'm not that lucky that my edits get me food in the table like many other artists out there, not enough, so.... yeah. I have to work full time, and sometimes we get overtime (I'm in a comitee with JICA in my country). 2. 280 characters in twitter is too low for making any kind of explanation, rant and whatnot, that makes it hard for me to make anything like that in twitter, also they are even more crystal-like than here. I mean, they actually make a tantrum and twitter silences you for debating.... this will be a long explanation, but to clarify: >Some starcofag-kid from here (I know his account from tumblr, he made the exact same one in twitter) came to twitter only to throw shit at anyone who badmouths starco and svtfoe, I got in the middle of it because he specifically came to molest me in a tweet and he tempted me to insult his intelligence; Yes, he had some really retarded "arguments" to say he was in the right, and since he couldn't actually argue anything he changed his perspective and tried to get me banned for a drawing, I got a 12 hours forced-silence because of all that shit.... >I got curious of why or how he got this "preference" of a mute going on so fast (I mean I got muted by twitter in a matter of 1 hour), after making a quick search in his account , he had 2 other accounts which specifically liked any comment he did anywhere. I kept an online eye on his IP activity (watch the first account IP and watch the other 2 accounts when they go online), since he was still trying to molest other people in tweets it was easy and fast..... unsurprisingly these 2 accounts had the exact same IP address than his main account, which means he was changing accounts to his other 2 fake accounts to like whatever his main account said and to report anyone who actually beats him in a debate about the show. I hope my point is clear... I wouldn't be able to explain anything in twitter because of that dumb "280 characters max" shit. So, I might do it here. 3. I gave my point of view in a facebook page after the show was over, but I waited for some months before doing so, you know... to gave some time for dust to settle and so that people can actually think about the show and argue, funny enough thanks to that I found out that barely 1% of the audience actually liked and still likes the show. The vast majority of the audience has enough brain and common sense to see the show for what it is (a failure) and not try to cope and seethe in hopes to find a good thing about it to use as their flag in their "the show was good" campaign. But yeah... I have things to say about the shitshow that svtfoe was, and how shipping and the endgame were so lame that the audience, disney, and daron herself don't want to touch it again, not even with a 12 feet stick.... if you can give me some time, like a couple of days, since I'll make some research in my computer and put all the stuff together in a document, and then when it's done, post it here with images :3 Remember the only good time in the show was when star was depicted suffering, like the piece of shit she was, while Marco was happy with Jackie and Hekapoo, and the show itself is proof that starco was and is a mistake

11 celebrities who've been called out for homophobic comments
This is gonna be interesting...
1. In 2020, Twitter users accused J.K. Rowling of transphobia after comments she made on Twitter. Rowling tweeted, "'People who menstruate.' I'm sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?" Fans on social media quickly told the writer she was not being inclusive to the transgender community. Rowling backed up her statement by tweeting, "I respect every trans person's right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them. I'd march with you if you were discriminated against on the basis of being trans. At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it's hateful to say so." She also said, "I want trans women to be safe. At the same time, I do not want to make natal girls and women less safe. When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he's a woman – and, as I've said, gender confirmation certificates may now be granted without any need for surgery or hormones – then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside. That is the simple truth."
2. Kevin Hart stepped down from hosting the Academy Awards after his old homophobic comments surfaced, saying, "I am evolving and want to continue to do so."
Between 2009 and 2010, Kevin Hart made insensitive jokes on Twitter and in his standup specials. For example, in one tweet, the comedian said he would break a dollhouse over his son's head if it turned out he was gay. In his 2010 special, "Seriously Funny," he reiterated the point that he would act abusively if his son was gay. "I wouldn't tell that joke today, because when I said it, the times weren't as sensitive as they are now," Hart later told Rolling Stone. "I think we love to make big deals out of things that aren't necessarily big deals, because we can. These things become public spectacles. So why set yourself up for failure?" When it was announced that Hart was going to be the host of the Oscars in 2018, his past jokes resurfaced. After backlash from the public, Hart stepped down as host. "I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year's Oscar's....this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists," he wrote in a tweet. "I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past … I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart."
3. After Paris Hilton was caught criticizing the gay community in an audio recording, she apologized, saying, "Gay people are the strongest and most inspiring people I know." In 2012, an audio recording of Paris Hilton in a taxi cab was leaked. According to reports, she was in the car with a gay man who was showing her the gay dating app, Grindr. In the audio, you can hear Hilton say, "Gay guys are the horniest people in the world. They're disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS. ... I would be so scared if I were a gay guy. You'll like, die of AIDS." Her publicist confirmed that the recording was in fact Hilton but emphasized the socialite was not homophobic. (Are they sure about this? God...) In an apology statement, Hilton said, "I am so sorry and so upset that I caused pain to my gay friends, fans, and their families. Gay people are the strongest and most inspiring people I know."
4. After a member of the audience called out Tracy Morgan for his homophobic remarks during a standup set, the comedian apologized. In 2011, a man chronicled Tracy Morgan's standup set in Nashville on Facebook. In the post, the man said Morgan said being gay is a choice because "God makes no mistakes." The comedian also allegedly said he would stab his son if he came out as gay. (Kevin Hart, you here?) After backlash and a half-hearted apology on "Late Show with David Letterman," Morgan issued an official apology. "I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville," he said. "I'm not a hateful person and don't condone any kind of violence against others. While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context." (Good sir. There is more to LGBTQ+ then just gays and lesbians)
5. Sarah Silverman used a gay slur in a 2010 tweet. When asked about it in 2018, she said, "I'm certainly creative enough to think of other words besides that that don't hurt people." In 2010, Sarah Silverman tweeted, "I don't mean this in a hateful way but the new bachelorette's a f-----." Although the tweet went relatively unnoticed at the time, it picked up momentum again in 2018 when people pointed out that it was unfair for Kevin Hart to step down from hosting the Oscars for doing something similar. "Yea, I'm done with that," Silverman told TMZ when she was asked about it in 2018. "I think I can find other ways to be funny. I used to say 'gay' all the time like, 'That's so gay!' Because we're from Boston. We'd go, 'That's what you say in Boston. I have gay friends. I just say gay.' Then I heard myself, and I realized I was like the guy who'd say, 'What? I say colored. I have colored friends.' I realized it's stupid, and I'm certainly creative enough to think of other words besides that that don't hurt people. But I fuck up all the time."
6. Eminem has been criticized for using gay slurs in his songs, but he insists he isn't homophobic. In 2018, Eminem released his album, "Kamikaze." In one song titled "The Fall," he focuses on fellow rapper Tyler, The Creator. In the song, Eminem raps," "Tyler create nothin', I see why you called yourself a f----t, bitch." This wasn't the first time rapper had been criticized for using a gay slut. Throughout his career, he has used similar words in his songs and received a lot of criticism for it. Eminem, however, insists he is not homophobic. "The honest-to-God truth is that none of that matters to me: I have no issue with someone's sexuality, religion, race, none of that," the rapper told Vulture. "Anyone who's followed my music knows I'm against bullies — that's why I hate that f---ing bully Trump — and I hate the idea that a kid who's gay might get s--- for it."
7. Mel Gibson mocked how gay men act in the early '90s. While doing an interview in 2001 for Spanish newspaper El Pais, Gibson said, "With this look, who's going to think I'm gay? I don't lend myself to that type of confusion. Do I look like a homosexual? Do I talk like them? Do I move like them?" Throughout the '90s, GLAAD protested Gibson's films, but the actor refused to apologize. "I'll apologize when hell freeze over," he said. "They can f--- off."
8. Alec Baldwin went on a homophobic Twitter rant against a reporter he did not agree with. He later said his remarks were "in no way was the result of homophobia." In 2013, Daily Mail reporter George Stark wrote a story accusing Alec Baldwin's wife, Hilaria, of tweeting at James Gandolfini's funeral. Baldwin took to Twitter to express his anger at Stark, calling the reporter a "toxic little queen," among other comments. In an interview with the Gothamist after the incident, Baldwin stood by his decision to call the reporter a "queen." "The idea of me calling this guy a 'queen' and that being something that people thought is homophobic … a queen to me has a different meaning. It's somebody who's just above," he told the publication. "It doesn't have any necessarily sexual connotations," Baldwin said. "To me a queen ... I know women that act queeny, I know men that are straight that act queeny, and I know gay men that act queeny. It doesn't have to be a definite sexual connotation or a homophobic connotation." He later issued an official apology, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "My anger was directed at Mr. Stark for blatantly lying and disseminating libelous information about my wife and her conduct at our friend's funeral service. As someone who fights against homophobia, I apologize," Baldwin said. "I would not advocate violence against someone for being gay, and I hope that my friends at GLAAD and the gay community understand that my attack on Mr. Stark in no way was the result of homophobia."
9. Chris Brown also used homophobic language (no shockers there) when talking about another rapper, but he later said, "I love all my gay fans." In 2010, rapper Raz provoked Chris Brown when he tweeted about Brown's past assault on Rihanna. Brown responded by attacking Raz on Twitter, referencing the fact that Raz was molested by another man as a child and calling him a "#homothug." "I'm not homophobic! He's just disrespectful," Brown tweeted later. "BTW…I love all my gay fans and this immature act is not targeted at you!!!! Love."
10. Azealia Banks has a long history of problematic comments, but she has since said she will no longer use gay slurs. In 2015, singer Azealia Banks was caught on camera yelling at a flight attendant after getting into a fight with a fellow passenger. In the video, you can hear Banks call the flight attendant a gay slur, according to HuffPost. She later tweeted about the incident, writing, "I don't care. I've said it before and I'll say it again."Banks' history with the word doesn't stop there. In 2016, she used the word to attack fellow singer Zayn Malik on Twitter, leading to the deactivation of her account. She has also called the LGBTQ community "the gay white KKK. Get some pink hoods and unicorns and rally down rodeo drive."In 2016, however, she announced she is never using the gay slur again. "The amount of people that get hurt when I use the word vs. the amount of people I've said it to are just not worth it," she wrote on Facebook. "Honestly... This isn't a cop-out, it's just me realizing that words hurt. and while I may be immune to every word and be thicker skinned than most, it doesn't mean that I get to go around treating people with the same toughness that made my skin so thick."
11. Drake Bell received backlash after posting a transphobic tweet. He later called the remarks "thoughtless." When Caitlin Jenner came out as transgender in 2015, Nickelodeon actor and singer Drake Bell tweeted, "Sorry...still calling you Bruce." After receiving backlash, he deleted the tweet and then posted another, misgendering Jenner. "I'm not dissing him! I just don't want to forget his legacy! He is the greatest athlete of all time," Bell tweeted. "Chill out!" After that, he tweeted out an apology. "I sincerely apologize for my thoughtless insensitive remarks," Bell wrote. "I in no way meant to hurt or demean those going through a similar journey. Although my comments were made in innocence, I deeply regret the negative effect they've had on so many."
Here are some tweets that were mentioned earlier (I couldn't find all of them)

Forewarning there is mention of death in this so please disregard this if that is triggering for you, and sorry if it is.. and also it's long and I am sorry it's just a bunch of sad stuff. This is so wild. I came to creep because I've been feeling pretty lost and hurt and I need a way to cope or distract that isn't.... detrimental I suppose. Less than 48 hours ago I thought of one of my friends who I haven't spoken to in awhile because 2020 was a bad fuckin year and also I've been trying to figure out how to share this big discovery about myself. I really wanted him to know and I knew he'd be supportive but we had feelings for each other so it felt.. daunting. I'll try to keep this as short as possible because the details hurt but he was my first love, nearly ten years ago and the other night he drifted to my thoughts as he often did and my heart soared at the thought of him and all these memories and feelings came rushing back and I realized I was still in love with him. basically i stopped recognizing the feeling as being in love and saw it as the feeling I got from him. So now it was time to share the secret and also to profess my love for him once again. But first. Make sure he's single because honesty is important but so is respecting relationships. Upon my search (I don't use Facebook anymore so it was impossible for me to have known before now) I learned that i would not be telling him anything at all, because he has been dead for 8 months. And I didn't know because I was scared of a secret. It's super painful and the only relief I can find is from my favorite book Slaughterhouse-Five, the passage about the tralfamadorian philosophy of "death" , that time is only linear to humans and in fact, all things that have or will ever happen are always happening. so a deceased person to them is "in bad condition" in that particular moment, but is perfectly fine in many other moments of life. I think he would really enjoy that philosophy too... so it's doubly comforting. I'm often too aware of my own mortality as well as friends and family, but he was always in this little box I my head as safe from the shortness and unpredictability of life.. just always felt like he was gonna be there. I haven't felt that way about anyone which is probably why this hurts so much more. But anyway it was just wild because I've been reminding myself about that philosophy all day and then I got on your blog and see the "everything was beautiful and nothing hurt" post which is from the same book and it just feels like.. some sort of sign. I'm not sure what, but something along the lines of "it will be okay". I guess this is a slap in the face to stop letting time slip away so easily. And i suppose i dont really have anyone to talk to about it and wanted it off my chest. Please dont feel pressured to reply - rolypoly
no worries my dear it's perfectly alright!!! you can always come to chat or rant or whatever even if it's just to get something off your chest that you want to get out there and share with someone, i'm more than happy to listen and talk whenever and wherever i can. honestly i can relate to this sort of feeling and situation a lot. i don't talk about it a lot but throughout my last relationship, my ex was in a very bad place mentally and it took a toll on both of us very heavily of course but there were also many underlying threats that he made about what he would do if i ever broke up with him or if he ever lost me. and that made breaking up with him much worse than it should have been because i spent weeks if not months after the fact fearing that he would do what he threatened to do. and even now i still catch myself thinking about it and wondering what has happened after all this time but i can never bring myself to reach out because i am very deathly afraid of hearing that he's no longer here. so i understand that fear you were feeling and i can only imagine that pain that came out of it as well. that philosophy is one i certainly find beautiful and comforting and i think it's easy to put people in our heads and heart as permanently safe because we hope that that's the case and we wish more than anything else that they will always be there and always be safe. frankly i am a person who believes in signs, and the fact that that post had been thrown in my queue and set to post randomly and you still came across it during this time in your life does tell me that it is a sign, and i'm hoping that it's a sign that everything will be okay because i truly believe it will. i'm glad you could speak about this because often times it's hard to allow yourself to be emotionally vulnerable to others, and i hope you know that you are strong and brave and you are doing so much as it is, you are doing well and time may slip away sometimes and in some instances, but that doesn't mean that it will always be like this. i have confidence you can grow from this and reach a point where you can look back fondly at this and see it as a beautiful moment in your life ❤❤❤

This was a poem I wrote while I was at AIT (Advanced Individual Training) back in 2017. It was a hell (literally for many reasons.) of a year. I went through a self-identity crisis (I know, what a wonderful time to have one, right?) and some other things during this time including my dad being very ill. I didn't understand the true extent of that fact until I started living with him after receiving an uncharacteristic discharge (one of the neutral discharges that one can receive in the Army.). This was written a good bit of months before he passed away right before my very eyes. I rewrote it not too long ago in a notebook of mine. The original one was written in a Facebook post in a different notebook that never got posted which is good because it was the length of a chapter or two in a novel or more. LOL! I write like I speak sometimes. Sometimes it is a blessing and other times it is a curse.
This poem was inspired by a certain part of a chapter in "Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's" by John Elder Robinson and the overall similarities that I found in his life and mine concerning our thoughts and feelings about ourselves and others when it came to social interactions. It is a wonderful book! Unfortunately, it got very wet due to an issue in my boyfriend's house so I had to toss it. I was actually quite devestated because I bought it while I was in the Army in Fort Jackson, SC. It actually meant quite a bit to me because I am a very sentimental person. The specific part that I am mentioning about being inspired by were John's thoughts essentially about himself and how he felt connected to people at a concert and also being proud of some things that he did or created that the crowd enjoyed whenever he was the sound engineer amongst other things for famous musicians back in the 70's and 80's if I am not mistaken. The man was an absolute beast as they say to be honest! I guess you could say that in a sense I borrowed the feel of that certain part and took it in a different direction than what he did. I just found and read that part of the book on a website where you can borrow novels online for an hour or 14 days, I believe is the full extent you can borrow and then purchase if you choose to do so. Anyway, I just wanted to double check myself before I actually posted this. It is all good in the neighborhood, folks! What I wrote and what he wrote and published are two different things entirely.
Anywho, here you go I suppose. Enjoy!
P.S.-- I hate that I have to say this, but due to some issues we have run across on Tumblr and other sites as of late, please do not plagiarize. These are my thoughts that I came up with based on my own personal experiences and such. Yes they were inspired by one particular part of a chapter in a book in a way and the topic of the book itself, but what I have written down isn't anywhere close to being word for word to what the author wrote and had published (I made sure of that to be on the safe side.). I simply got inspired to write down similar feelings that I feel when it comes to myself and social interactions with people in general whether it is at a party or somewhere else entirely. That is the only thing these writings have in common. BIG difference there. Thank you.
P.S. #2--That last part wasn't directed at anyone in particular. I just mentioned it to show that I myself am not plagiarizing and to be frank, I'm just an anxious worry wart sometimes which is why I read that part of the book just to be on the safe side before I even posted this. I can't stand people who take other people's actual blood, sweat, tears, and sometimes life and say it is theirs. It sickens me a lot to be honest. Sorry for this. Rant over now, I promise.

I'm curious, do you think that theory that Lucifer is Jottun makes sense? To me it feels weird, but this is your lane and you have way more knowledge about this.
Okay so first of all, wtf tumblr why is your cut INSIDE THE ASK and fucking up my post
Tumblr media
Moving on:
I... is this like, a show theory that someone came up with? Or are you talking like, in general mythology?
(Edit: I realized I postured this from the angle of assuming we’re talking about the widely received idea of Lucifer in modern culture; if I was wrong about that, lemme know -- I do drift into the NONCHRISTIAN Greek Lucifer as well, which you’ve seen me talk about with Phanes before on this blog)
I’ve never heard a serious statement (or at least one that held up if gently poked) about this as much as a general correlation (IE, Promethean deities if you will, which would correspond Lucifer to Loki, though I highly disagree with that assessment for other reasons as well) -- or various theory parallels where the Jotun are parallel to everything from Titans to Nephilim.
Generally the Luciferian/Satanic iconization of Loki came from later transcriptions of eddas by Christian monks. Then again, the idea of Satan himself came from the jews taking on Zoroastrian beliefs after captivity so fuck all flips table
The last thing I’ve seen that tried to draw any kind of correlation about it had some nonsense trying to equate Azazel to Hermes too and a whole other mess of madness.
Without tracking the anthropology and etymology of a situation though, you end up with a mess, and there’s a lot of those out there. If you google long and hard enough, Lucifer is everyone. He’s Cronus, he’s Hyperion, he’s Prometheus, he’s Loki, he’s like half the native american spirits, he’s also somehow half the angels and demons in the bible and apocryphal scripture, depending on how far down a rabbit hole someone wants to go, he’s Santa or a tempting sandwich on tuesdays.
Tumblr media
This got long so I’m putting it behind a cut -- it seems to drift but to truly answer this ask, or more answer why I don’t even have a direct statement to answer it, required some -- explanation and history
Helel is a stronger thing to lean into for example. The anthropology tracks, the mythos tracks, etc. Hell, look up Jewish beliefs on fallen angels, satan, lucifer or whatever and realize Christianity has really taken judaism for a joyride while gluing shit over their homework. Hell like, check out the history of jewish captivity under Nebuchadnezzar II and how Zoroastrianism influenced judaism/the very belief of satan/eventual conflation with Lucifer -- there’s debate on whether the Morning Star, mentioned as the King of Babylon, who made them work and toil, was Nebuchadnezzar himself. Which would make, Lucifer, um. Some king dude that died 2600 years ago, give or take.
I am-- very slow to draw angelic associations. That’s not to say they don’t happen. You can, say, track the fall of the grigori and follow their mentioned path to egypt where they "became kings”, and follow which ones disseminated into which cultures how by comparing their attributes, sure. But with something like, say, Lucifer, which is a mythological clusterfuck to itself, considering everything in the public mind about Lucifer modernly is an amalgam of everything from multiple names in the same sacred text to adaptations from influencing religions/weird reads on the transcriptions from people that didn’t know their history/etc, I’m not gonna be like LUCIFER IS JOTUN any more than LUCIFER IS A TITAN or LUCIFER IS A NEPHILIM.
Could there be a correlation for that? Sure I guess. But of the many things I have studied or dealt with, I’ve seen some shit. I’ve seen some SHIT. And never once have I encountered a Lucifer that was legit, if you believe in spoopy shit. Various shit loves using the name as a quick cred card but that’s the equivalent of a nigerian prince facebook scam that’s totes in the US Army Doug David Donnie Darko Davis, very believable.  But you know what? I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s Lucifer these days. Whoever was identified as it originally 1. probably put on magical witness protection and changed names by now 2. has been utterly lost by time and has been replaced more with a /concept/ than a /being/. But the modern concepts are so vague it’s like hiding a blue chip in a pool, have fun finding it, and I’ve definitely never been compelled to do so.
I’m sure racially speaking one could say “angels might be aesir” “demons might be jotun” and draw a reasonable argument about it with enough effort, but that’d be more like... systemic translation of thousands-years-old stories traveled over the lands, at which point the question is less “Is Lucifer Jotun?” and more “What would the Aesir and Jotun be in abrahamic text equivalency?”
Curiously I’ve never seen anybody go bananas over this shit to find correlations for anything ~other~ than Christian-outward -- Christian texts always want to make their people everybody else’s people, but nobody is fighting to be referenced by christianity and even less are trying to compare say, Zoroastrianism or Islam or anything else to what gods THEY might be -- even though Zoroastrianism is literally where half this stuff came from, where ideas of archangelic-like creatures and archdemons came from, where the afterlife, where it all came from. So I struggle, deeply, to associate Lucifer with anything specific for a long, long list of reasons but find this a particularly weird thing. Like when’s the last time you heard a muslim or taoist or any other major world religion right now go out and be like “YOU KNOW WHO I THINK (ENTITY) IS, I BET ITS THIS GREEK/NORSE DUDE RIGHT HERE”-- it’s just a Christian culture thing?? IDK???
And again sometimes it’s even /valid/ but I just-- Lucifer is such a Topic(TM) to me. Because to me, he’s a concept, an idea, an archetype, but if there ever was an individual Lucifer that dude got himself a face transplant and fucked off a long time ago IMO so good luck
cuz like
Interpretations of a similar term in the Hebrew Bible, translated in the King James Version as "Lucifer" as a proper name, led to a Christian tradition of applying the name Lucifer, and its associated stories of a fall from heaven, to Satan, but modern scholarship generally translates the term in the relevant Bible passage, (Isaiah 14:12), as "morning star" or "shining one" rather than as a proper name, "Lucifer".
As a name for the Devil, the more common meaning in English, "Lucifer" is the rendering of the Hebrew word הֵילֵל‎ (transliteration: hêylêl; pronunciation: hay-lale) in Isaiah (Isaiah 14:12) given in the King James Version of the Bible. The translators of this version took the word from the Latin Vulgate, which translated הֵילֵל by the Latin word lucifer (uncapitalized) meaning "the morning star, the planet Venus", or, as an adjective, "light-bringing".
As a name for the planet in its morning aspect, "Lucifer" (Light-Bringer) is a proper name and is capitalized in English. In Greco-Roman civilization, it was often personified and considered a god and in some versions considered a son of Aurora (the Dawn). A similar name used by the Roman poet Catullus for the planet in its evening aspect is "Noctifer" (Night-Bringer).
You’d probably have a better chance of coherently inferring that Lucifer is actually Inanna or Ishtar the goddess, as Venus, or that Lucifer is Aphrodite. ORIGINALLY IT WAS FUCKING HELEL.
A suggested methodology on this: Never ever ever start from Christian texts. Like ever. Much less without at least a single Daf Yomi run to actually understand the jewish texts before it got super renovated and had white-out slapped all over it. Christianity generally perished anything after it, or at best attached like a symbiote until the host entity or belief was gone. Hell, sometimes the greecoroman Lucifer is the son of Eoster. Sound familiar? Hot take: Lucifer is Easter confirmed Easter is Satan worship.
See how that can be kinda... faulty? If you want to understand it though-- figure out where the same concept went? GO BACKWARDS. Never go FORWARDS. Pick up those christian and jewish texts and go. BACKWARDS. Akkadian. Babylonian. Because once you realize what was clipped out of other faiths, you can go back to that core deity and start figuring out where it branched off in other directions than eventually being kidnapped into the messianic cult bag. THEN go forward in time and realize that christianity is just an itty bitty teeny tiny branch of our history, it just swamped us over time via extermination. So you can find Lucifer as just about anyone, because respectively, ask a room full of rabbis and pastors to write down every time Lucifer is mentioned by name in original text form in the bible before translation and rendition. The rabbis are gonna giggle and the pastors are gonna be deadass wrong, sorry.
You wanna play a game? “Is Asmodeus Aesir?”
folds arms I’ma let you sit here scratching your heads about that for a while.
Because it’s gonna take going backwards. Who was the babylonian form of Asmodeus? When did the name ASMODEUS happen? What name did it have even in jewish texts? Or which branch of names? What did that deity evolve into in less calvinistic or messianic circles? Yes, you can track this. Yes, you CAN find how it translated into greece far and away from abrahamic or calvinistic influence, or to the vikings, or anyone else if you chase the crumbs enough, but again, there’s-- entire things to review about systemic beliefs and translations/hot takes. Same shit, different label in most places, sure, but-- eh.
Ranting a bit at this point but if anyone takes anything out of this:
Pinpoint when/where/why names originated
Go backwards first, not forward
Find the anchor belief/origin/story
Find where it branched
respect the branches and deviations as unique renditions within cultures while equally respecting the fact that there’s some truth in all beliefs and we’re all trying to describe the same shit. So could Lucifer be Jotun, I guess. But we’d have to hold nuanced discussion about the journey of the narrative from A to B and how the Aesir and Jotun correspond at large.
Anthropology and etymology are key. Where did people travel, how did they write, what did it mean. Don’t look only for very specific affiliations.
Hell let me take a quote from-- a place.
Here is how a pantheon actually comes together.
First deity: “Shit. My people were conquered and my religion just blowed up. I’m out of a job”
Second deity: “Me too.”
Third deity: “Hey, you look like that Lightning God the mortals in that place over there are telling stories about.”
Two deities at the same time: “We’re lightning gods too, though!”
Third deity: “Well, shit. You, on the left, you’re better looking. Best you be in charge.”
First deity: “Screw you! I’m bigger than all of you!”
Second deity: “Whatever. You’re a thug. Go rule the sea.”
First deity: “What? I’m a god of paternity!”
Second deity: “Paternity’s moist. That’s very similar.”
Meanwhile, you guys on Earth are all like, “Oh, Hermes is younger than Apollon.” Like its a fact. Like I wasn’t some Proto-Indo-Eurpean god of Penises and Serpents and outcroppings of stone long before anyone was ever speaking Greek.
And while we’re at the bastardized rerolling of mythologies, most heavily performed by christianity, I point you to that last line, regarding Baal Peor, and raise you:
youtube
If people noticed that video was sassier than normal, there’s a reason.
Let’s say you had a super interesting life and people kept telling your story, but over time, as it spread around the world, the telephone game got warped into several very different things. In some you’re even the villain, in some you have a giant dick, and in others you saved the world. All of these were somehow inspired by you and your story, but none of the people at the end of the story are necessarily ~you~. But someone has to figure out where the story started to find who ~you~ are, even if there’s tales of things you did, or supposedly did, all over the place. And sometimes people also take any word that sounds like your name and make it you. So if your name was Ted, you’d also end up with all kinds of shit like Bed Dead Fed Head Jed Lead Ned Red Wed and Zed when they come up suddenly all get replaced by the word/name Ted and that’s it, that’s your mythology.

I gad watched this video with full intentions to agree with how beneficial clean eating can be to so many people. Instead, I was very irritated by the extreme nature of people. I understand and advocate a whole foods diet which includes rice, beans, meats, vegetables, and limited fruit and that is what I personally live by. Mentioning my personal diet has no relation to anyone but myself or those that ask for an opinion.
The influencer that has a mansion and lives her life doing yoga ans eating smoothies is not comparable to a normal lifestyle that includes working a fulltime job or multiple part time jobs in order to pay bills and manage a comfortable living. My question is: If you have the benefit in mind of your followers, then why would you shamelessly plug one of your smoothie bowls into an episode of 60 minutes? Does anyone really know everything she does or eats on a daily basis? Does she have a nutritionist?
To be honest, I'm ranting here like a fool about an 18 minute re-cap of a 60 minutes episode. Sorry, fam.
Anyway, I came here to post about something that I had seen a lot on social media and had to get away from it. People had become toxic and dishonest. Disillusioned by expectations on how people should act or obsessed with what others were saying about them. When, in all likelihood, no one wanted to bother with talking about them anyway. It had created an environment where I felt too much was being shared. Then, I started to feel obsessed with what people were possibly saying about me and it was very sad. I turned into something that I viewed as negative and toxic. I started gossiping about people and trying to trade information like verbal currency.
Then, one day when I was scrolling through Facebook a colleague of mine posted an image of their work situation and showing how much work they received. Whether this was pointed at myself or not I was left feeling harassed. Why? I wasn't sure at the time but now I realize the sheer amount of passive aggressive tendencies began developing in correlation to my increased use of social media.
Which led me to getting rid of it and I have been much happier since. I downloaded Tumblr so it can be an outlet for my opinion and a place where I can talk about less casual topics but I am unsure of the effect it will have on me. But, with other social media platforms I found it unavoidable to be influenced. Positively or negatively at some point.
This video served me as a great example of what I would like to avoid and research more because at certain times in the video the influencer's tone changes from welcoming to a little defensive. Needless to say, she most likely goes through comments of praise and ridicule frequently which has some effect on her. Apologies if that was too much of an assuming comment.

someone just told me that the tea account is back im sorry to rant about this but what do they get from letting people talk bad about people who havent even done anything to them? do they think that the people are gonna praise them or worship them just because they made a tea blog 'exposing' the people in our fandom? whoever is the person behind that account is just not cool at all like how can they just let people do that? i am so sick of people like that and tbh, cancel culture is so toxic. i cant even open any social media apps without seeing a thread exposing someone. they dont even let the person apologize or explain themselves, they just talk bad about someone until theyre forced to deactivate their account. they make our fandom look so bad. i thought here on tumblr i can interact with other armys peacefully unlike facebook and twitter but i was wrong, there are still many great people here like you but i wish sometimes people like them should just shut up if they dont have anything nice to say. they even talk bad about the boys and i was like what the fuck? if you dont like it then no need to say it out loud if youre the only one who is concerned about that. this is just so tiring to see and hear. lets just report that account.
first and always foremost, i am grateful that you believe that my blog is a safe enough space where you can rant about it (you can, i just want to say i'm thankful that you trust me)!
this tea blog, sigh, what a mess! if we're in a room, it's like that one annoying kid that won't stop playing devil's advocate when it really isn't the time.
so repeat after me: we don't have time for nasty people.
my word of advice, should you want it: do yourself a favour and block. our overthinking brains will only get angrier the more you put it in the forefront of your mind. the people that choose to spew hatred (bts or otherwise) will stop eventually, and if not, who gives a shit? the boys certainly don't; they're too busy taking over the world. me? too busy juggling a job + content creation + writing. and you? too busy being your absolute goddamn wonderful self 👏
don't let the loud problems drown your love.
if tumblr doesn't feel safe for you anymore, leave. it's okay! your mental health is always the number one priority + the people that love you will love you regardless if you stay in this platform.
if you want to stay and make a difference, uplift others. there are two blogs that i know of, @anoninluv and @support-kpop-contentcreators that you can send anons and be kind. or go straight to the content creators themselves and show them an outpouring of love.
keep your chin up. it isn't worth dwelling on the hurt. you're a bad bitch, a savage, and again, you have no time to spare for nasty people. in the grand scheme of things, tumblr is such a tiny aspect of who you are -- who i am, so don't let it dictate your day.
remind yourself that you're above this petty bullshit, because you are. and so am i :)
