"You go ask him!" Robin insisted.

"Why does it have to be me?"

"You're kidding, right? Because Munson would literally do anything you ask him to" Steve chuckled.

"That's not true!" you argued.

"Yes, it is" both Steve and Robin said at the same time. "He once picked up your copy of ABBA's new album" Steve reminded you. "And he also rented the Princess Bride when you asked him to."

"But he hates doing the coffee run" you reminded them.

"Yes, that's why you should ask him" Robin smirked, raising her eyebrows.

"Okay, I'll try and ask him but I think it's pointless" you rolled your eyes before you walked over to where Eddie was stacking some of the new movies that came in. "Hi, love" you smiled sweetly at him.

"Hey, sunshine" he smiled a little, looking back at you.

"Do you need any help?" you asked, grabbing some of the movies from him.

"What do you want?" he sighed.

"What?" you asked, pretending to be confused.

"Sweetheart, I know you didn't come here to help me stack the new movies" he smirked. "So, what do you want?"

"Well... we were just thinking... because it's really slow today... if you wouldn't... mind... making a coffee run to the shop across the street?" you asked smiling innocently at him and Eddie let out an exasperated sigh.

"Why does it have to be me? You know I hate going to that coffee shop" he said, glaring a little at you.

"I know, but we have all had our breaks except for you" you explained.

"But nobody's here, you can just go and we'll cover for you" he tried to argue.

"Please, Eds? For me?" you begged.

"No, don't say that!" Eddie complained.

"Why not?" you asked, confused.

"Every time you say 'Please? For me?', you think I'm gonna do whatever you ask. Well, not this time!, princess" he complained, glaring at you a little. But then he saw your bottom lip sticking out as you pouted and you looked up at him with puppy eyes.

"Please, love?" you tried again. "I'll make it up to you" you smirked.

"UUAGHH. Fine!" he gave in, still frowning. But a small smile formed on his lips when you threw yourself at him, wrapping your arms around his neck and peppering him with kisses, making him drop the movies in his hands.

"Thank you so much, Eddie" you said, before you planted a kiss on his lips.

"You're lucky I love you, princess" he smiled before giving you another peck.

"I know, love" you smiled. "I love you too" you said giving him one final kiss before he started making his way out of Family Video.

"Taking my break!" he yelled at Robin and Steve who both quickly pretended they had not just witnessed your entire interaction with him. You picked up the movies Eddie dropped and walked back to them.

"So, you still think you don't have Munson wrapped around your little finger?" Steve said, smirking.

"Shut up, Harrington!" you said before going to the back to get the rest of the movies Eddie needed to stack. It was only about fifteen minutes later before Eddie was back.

"Here Harrington" Eddie said, sighing, handing Steve his coffee.

"Thanks, man" Steve nodded.

"Buckley" he said, giving Robin hers.

"Thanks, Eddie" she said, before she nudged Steve.

"What?"

"What do you mean, what? Pay him" she rolled her eyes.

"Why do I always have to be the one paying?"

"I don't know, Steve. Why am I the funny one? We all have our thing" she said, laughing and Steve rolled his eyes before he paid Eddie for his coffee and Robin's as you came out of the back room.

"Eddie!" you smiled brightly at him, approaching your boyfriend and wrapping your arms around his shoulders. "Hi again, love" you smiled.

"Hey, princess" he said as a smile appeared.

"Dude, I don't think I've ever seen Eddie smiling" Robin frowned.

"I know. I always assumed he had fangs" Steve chuckled.

"Shut up you two, or I'll throw your coffee away" he glared at the two of them before he turned back to you. "I got yours here, sunshine" he said, grabbing a third cup and handing it to you.

"Thank you so much, love" you said, kissing his cheek. "How much do I owe you?"

"Nothing, princess" he said, kissing your forehead. "It's my treat" he smiled at you.

"Thank you, Eddie" you said, kissing his cheek.

"Let me know if they made it right, or I can go back and ask for a new one" he told you as you took a sip.

"It's perfect, love" you insisted.

"Mine kinda needs more sugar, did they give you any?"

"No, sucks to be you, Harrington" he smirked at Steve.

ok the Haywoods being Black is so important to me and important to the plot but have we talked about just How Important that is? yes the obvious line of plot (them being exploited etc.) but also very specifically their mannerisms????

ive seen the headcanon circling around that OJ is autistic. im not gonna say no he isnt, because everyone is entitled to that opinion... but like... your evidence isnt evidencing because the traits youre saying he has because hes autistic seem to be a lot more because he’s Black. specifically a dark skinned Black man. ALSO WHOSE BEST FRIEND IS HIS SISTER.

bell hooks wrote about the history and generational trauma when it comes to Black people and gaze. google is free. HOWEVER I want us to remember (with this fucked up ass movie coming out) why was Emmett Till brutally murdered? because he looked. when I was growing up I would get smacked by my mom if i got caught staring at someone. in any context. if I hold eye contact while expressing boundaries to any white person, my doing so would be seen as an act of malice. not because of my tone or anything (im neurodivergent I am so aware of my tone at all times) but because im making eye contact. also, because of slavery and the generational trauma that has still made its way into parenting tactics today, Black people are always respectful. always. we were raised that way. so it only makes SENSE that OJ is avoiding eye contacting the he is spared by jean jacket (and they even were able to coexist) was because he respected her. he respected that she was the predator and her space.

ANOTHER THING that I've noticed is that Black boys with good relationships with their sisters exhibit a very specific set of mannerisms that OJ executes perfectly. the gentle reminders, conveying intensity with the smallest of gestures. he doesnt need to tell her he loves her for us to get that. hes her biggest supporter and at the end of the day she knows she can count on him; hes her family.

ALSO (I have so many thoughts on this movie) someone on here said that they are doing the things you tell the main protagonists in like “normal” horror movies not to do and you keep rooting for them. and if I remember correctly they say it’s because u understand their motivation behind it, but like low-key high key, I think a big part of why you root for them is because they’re Black. Jordan peele said multiple times that the reason the movie is called nope is because that how Black people behave in horror movies (not midsommar tho but tbh I blame white academia for that one) we say nope and we run. and so this idea of not doing that is so (not necessarily) abnormal (but that’s the only word that came to mind), that you cant help but root for them.

tldr: I love when Black people make shit for Black people.

okay i love all these anons but also i am trying So Hard to not spoil things omg. please send more but also if i lowkey spoil something eventuallly it’s not my fault !! it actually definitely is entirely my fault but shhh

but anyways, kind of and also kind of not?

so like, in to build a family harley and peter are teenagers, but not like homeward bound. they’re high schoolers still, yk? they’re younger and haven’t gone through all the things that homeward bound harley and peter have gone through. i only bring up tbaf because obviously harley has Daddy Issues™ in tbaf. even before the second fic when his dad dies and he has to deal with that—in the first fic there’s a part where harley reminds his sister of their dad bc of how he left to go to new york and it’s this whole moment, yk? but he’s younger in tbaf and since tbaf is like not at all canon compliant to the mcu, they’ve gone through a lot less in comparison to hb, yk?

i say all that because while daddy issues are an ongoing lifelong thing for homeward bound harley, they aren’t as detrimental or as Big as they are in tbaf or other fics i’ve written where that comes up. hb harley is still effected by his daddy issues but he’s 18, he’s in college, he died for 5 years and came back to find out tony died, he has some family stuff that will be further explored and explained in the sequel with his mom and sister, and now also he has peter and the knowledge that peter is spider-man and the heaviness that comes with peter’s tragedies and past as well.

it’s a heaviness he’s okay with, don’t get me wrong, he’s more than happy to be there for peter and to learn these things and has been curious about peter since the first time peter walked into late night (again, will be explained more in the sequel!) but it’s heavy nonetheless, you know?

essentially, in the grand scheme of things, while he’s still impacted by his daddy issues, he also just… doesnt care anymore? like not caring doesn’t erase the impact but also he barely thinks of his dad and when he does he doesnt feel angry or upset or any of the things he felt in the past about his dad leaving, he just… doesnt care. he’s been through so much at this point that it’s just Another Thing. he’s desensitized to it to the point that like, why does it matter? it doesn’t.

there’s a part in hb, i can’t remember which chapter but it’s a small texting segment in one of the chapters where harry talks about him harley and peter making a no dad’s club for funsies and in that text convo harley mentions that he has a dad he just doesnt know where he is and doesn’t care enough to find out.

also, to answer that last part—it’s new angst that includes physical stuff! there’s gonna be… a lot lmao. i have a lot of things planned for this series, a lot of ideas taken from various comics, from the movies, from the games, etc. i’m even planning to read through plotlines for some of the animated series to see if there’s any additional ideas to draw from there.

but like, think of it this way, i guess: harley cares. a LOT. like some of his remaining daddy issues have developed in the form of being a bit slow to trust new people, but like he’s mentioned in the fic, once he chooses to care about someone, he is ALL IN. he is COMMITTED. and now that he knows about peter being spidey and is actively choosing to be involved in that, his instincts and his heart are going to want to do anything and everything he can to help.

okay actually sorry this answer is SO long BUT i remembered something i had harley say and i went back and looked and in chapter three he tells peter “my Mama says I have the heart of a protector” and THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IM TRYING TO CONVEY HERE LMAO so THAT is who he is at heart yk?

and peter is gonna be in a lot of dangerous situations as spidey, and as the series goes on people connected to him are going to be in danger because of spidey, and essentially like…. a lot of emotions and a lot of angst and a lot of potential for getting hurt, yk?

i need to stop here because i keep almost saying fuck it and giving an example that is definitely a spoiler but yeah. take that as you will (:

thanks to my friend april fool for showing this to me but: the truck at the start that nearly runs over ladybug is infact the same tangerine one that lemon runs the prince over with at the end

the cool shot of ladybug opening his locker behind yuichi when he mentions the guy he bumped into

when we first see lemon, tangerine points out that he has blood on his shirt, he states: "nah man thats not mine, i dont bleed" later on, when tangerine is holding the prince at gunpoint he says: "you made lemon bleed...and lemon never bleeds"

the fact that most of the characters slowly lose more clothing as the movie goes on

in the scene where the white death is holding the prince at gunpoint we are reminded that the gun has a mechanism in it so it backfires, as a viewer we already knew so it wouldnt have been a surprise when he shoots himself in the head, but ofcourse he doesnt. when hes about to shoot ladybug with that same gun, we dont get that reminder and it becomes more of a shock and a "ooooh shit" which i think is a neat technique

and ofcourse, the sweet redemption that is the prince getting demolished by a tangerine truck being driven by lemon

100% recommend watching the xmen movies, theyre so good. Incredible found family.

Im definitely going to get things wrong because i havent read any xmen comics so i only know little things here and there but here's the basics.

Nightcrawler is a mutant called Kurt Wagner. His birth and what happened to him varies but the general idea is that he is the son of Mystique (Raven Darkholme). She didnt want a baby so she tried to kill him. She threw him off a cliff but Kurt survived. Kurt spent his childhood in a circus in Germany. Originally he grew up quite happily in the circus, being very flexible and acrobatic. However once the circus was bought by another company, he was treated much worse. They insisted Kurt was placed in the 'Freak show' and even kept him in cages. Kurts blue skin, elf-like ears, yellow eyes and long tail were all there from birth however his teleportation powers only kicked in at puberty like most mutations. Kurt was drugged in the circus to prevent him escaping but eventually he did manage to teleport away.

This is where I'll move towards the movie lore because like i said, i dont know much about comics. :]

In the movies, more so apocalypse, Kurt never actually escaped the circus but instead he was sold to mutant cage fighting where he ended up fighting Archangel / Angel (Warren Worthington). He was rescued by Mystique and brought to the X-Mansion where he now lives and works with the xmen.

Some headcanons i have about him:

I could not tell you for the life of me what those little demon Bamf things are. I know theyre the bamfs but i cant explain them. So to make life easier i like to headcanon that Kurt just has a little plushie or two of himself that he absolutely adores.

His tail swishes when hes happy so he has to hold onto it to make sure he doesnt hit anyone because his tail has a mind of its own and he knocks so.. so many things over with it.

When hes standing next to (insert whoever you ship him with here - personally i ship him with Wolverine), kurt will wrap his tail around their leg comfortably to keep himself close.

Kurt had already left school by the time he got to the mansion. He did a few important classes like english and maths but he mostly now just helps teach/watch the younger kids. He likes helping Ororo (Storm) with her classes.

Its fun trying to think of mutations for all of the kids. Like- have you ever watched Sky High (2005)? Highschool au essentially. But imagine a kid whos mutation is just- really sharp teeth. Poor Kurt trying and failing to keep a class of loud and wild kids calm and then getting his tail bitten by the bitey child. He cries. Someone help him.

Im halfway through reading a fic ('How to bang an X-man' by Laughing_Screaming on AO3 *nsfw warning*) and in it Kurt really likes snails. He helps Ororo with gardening and she ends up gifting him 3 pet snails and i think thats adorable.

ALSO IN THE FIC, Kurt sleeps in a hammock rather than a bed because he likes being up high and curling up in it - it reminds him of when he was living on the road with the circus. Its adorable.

Not a headcanon, more of a fact, Kurt is quite religious and proud to be catholic. *tw SH* In the movies he has symbols and patterns all over his body which are self inflicted - 'one for every sin'. Whereas in the comics, Kurt is much more fuzzy and fluffy - having fur rather than just blue skin. People describe his skin to be almost velvety? Or like a peach? And whilst that makes my autistic brain want to gag, it is a cool detail.

Also not a headcanon but Kurt is a nerd. He has an interest in everything to do with pirates. His weapon of choice is a cutlass. Ive never watched it and i dont plan to but he'd probably enjoy that gay pirate show everyone likes at the moment. (OFMD)

Sometimes I remember that the sequel trilogy is canon, and Disney's stubbornness will keep it canon, and I want to scream.

Like I'll just randomly remember that starkiller was fucking illum - you know the sacred jedi planet where you get Kyber crystals - and that apparently Luke never took any of his students there for ??? Some ?? Reason???

AND THEN I remember that NOTHING CHANGED. The wanted to succeed so they copied the "good" movies and in doing so showed that nothing good HAPPENED as a result of those movies! Rebel GENERAL Han Solo was a deadbeat dad who went back to smuggling, a new jedi order was never established, the new Republic was destroyed IN THE FIRST MOVIE. They wanted the "resistance" to be underdogs so badly that they fucking ruined the original trilogy!

God! The first order was shown as a small enough splinter group that the new Republic decided to IGNORE them even though they have with them a LITERAL SITH (you know, one of them one-man army types that the Republic DOESNT HAVE A COUNTRR TO because he went and hid in a cave).

So the first order must be TINY right? APPARENTLY NOT. The "resistance" is constantly on the lower foot because *checks notes* they destroyed a single system? What about - I dunno - corellia? Coruscant? One of the other THOUSANDS of planets aligned with the new republic? No? They don't want to help? Because they're scared you say? Thousands of planets vs one, relatively small army with no home base? They're just gone roll over?

UGH! can you see why this frustrated me?????? NOTHING about the fucking sequels makes sense! It's not like the prequels which were bad movies but the plot holds together a a logical fucking timeline! The sequels are stupid! Everything about them is awful.

If you're a sequels fan (first if all: rewatch the original trilogy, then watch literally any of the Disney eu stuff THEN get back to me over whether you're a sequels fan) imagine of they make another set of sequels where rey just literally never left tatooine for no reason (THERES NO REASON FOR HER TO BE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE BUT WHATEVER) and like while she's been ruminating on tatooine a new empire has formed in the galaxy and finn and chewie on the millennium falcon find a random dude in the desert on desert planet no. 5 who is ~strong with the force~ and there's a fucking rebellion again, and there is STILL no jedi order, and this new guy is like "train me rey skywalker" and rey is like "nah I tried to kill my last apprentice because they reminded me of kyle ron who was 100% evil the whole time I knew him :(((((" and then everyone died but the rebellion won! And now this new guy goes to jakku (where he's never been) and burries anakins lightsaber AGAIN.

Do. You. See. Why. I. Hate. The. Sequels?

Honestly Disney has dug themselves so far into a hole with the sequels that I'm hoping - as is everyone else - that they'll just announce a "TV canon" and actually allow the TV shoes they're doing to diverge from the sequels stupidity. Because of course they literally can't uncanonize the sequels (unless they made a movie where they used the very real timetravel/mulitverse aspect of sw and just undid everything - please? Please disney?)

Anyway, as a star wars fan, my feelings toward the sequels are unrivalled hate and it's 3 am and I am just seething.

so i need to know your opinions after watching the passenger and on the count of three back to back

hii im SO glad u asked. spoilers for both films below

ok icl im a bit drunk rn but fuck it bc okay so i watched the passenger and it did remind me a LOT of on the count of three (which is why i then rewatched otcot after). there are a lot of differences obviously like the double suicide plot in on the count of three that doesnt appear in the passenger. i also feel like the passenger tried to incorporate more horror elements (understandable bc its a blumhouse production) but tbh they are extremely similar.

theyre both films abt guys who have known each other for a long time (long enough to say hi to when entering work at least in the case of passenger) + go on a "roadtrip" thatll certainly end in death for one of them. unlike a roadtrip movie these 2 films are v grounded in their suburban settings, both just visiting places theyve been before to tie a neat bow on their lives/live for one more day. on the count of three has the two visiting places bc they want to (or kevin wanted to at the start at least) whereas passenger has benson forcing randy to fix his life essentially so that he doesnt end up like him. this is interesting bc despite the seemingly v different dynamics, passenger is still p similar to otcot because kevin does encourage val to visit his dad/girlfriend and keeps asking if he REALLY wants to die or if he just needs help, so kevin doesnt end up (dead) like him. whats different is that benson saw that randy needed help and decided to BE that help in passenger.

theres also a lot of similarities between randy and val- right from the start theyre both working dead end jobs, unsure what they wanna do w their lives, and their bosses call them in to tell them that they're up for a promotion to manager. that and the repressed childhood trauma (val's being abuse from his father + randy's being half-blinding his teacher) makes them v similar characters. where val goes on a journey from suicidal to wanting to live despite it all naturally (w help from external factors mind, such as his gf + her being pregnant) randy is forced to improve his life. and randy does get "fixed" by benson, we see at the end that he's finally learned to stand up for himself, and that ending is satisfying but otcot's ending is a lot more real i guess. we see val and his family (along w other, mostly black families) in jail for father's day. compared to at the start of the film, to an outsider it might seem that his life got a lot worse, but HE'S HAPPY. and that shot of them in jail as the camera zooms out and we see more families makes me cry every time man. god.

val's character is a lot more fleshed out than randy i reckon, especially from a family perspective. we see his dad and his girlfriend and we see how he interacts with them and how he pushed them away (the dad w good reason). the most we get abt randy's home life is the phonecall w his mum, which then continues to be another reason benson needs to "fix" him so that he can stand up for himself, but isnt rlly delved into otherwise. and that his mum held him back a grade due to The Incident.

idk man the way the two films end as well gets me because one of them dies. in otcot kevin killing himself seems inevitable. straight from the start we know he's wanted to die, that there isnt anything else he can do, and throughout the day we've seen him get worse and worse via seeing his old highschool bully, dr brenner, etc. he also kills himself bc he doesnt have anything to live for. unlike val who has his girlfriend and kid (and his mom is also mentioned as being alive) kevin really does have no one, apart from val. he says at the start that he wanted to die bc hes tried everything and there's nothing left to try and "fix" him with. still, when kevin kills himself it fucking hurts. this is mostly down to the brilliant acting from abbot and carmichael i mean...the way val doesnt grasp what kevin's going to do until its too late, the remorse kevin has that val is going to witness his suicide but also the acceptance that he has to do it, or rather that he wants to do it. god. i cry every time at that bit. and then the cops come after his best friend has just killed himself next to him. shit, dude. shit. even in the last sequence in the jail, the white jail wardens are patrolling the room, an unsettling presence.

benson's death, and actually the whole sequence after benson accidentally shot randy, is stunning. its visually incredible and honestly the acting is just. OUGH. god. the way u can see the police lights reflecting on their faces. and then "i was never in charge, randy" comes and benson pulls out the gun, knowing that theyre gonna shoot before he even gets the chance. at least he gets to be in charge of how he dies.

not to say that the passenger didnt hit bc it did and i rlly enjoyed it, but the films were so similar that i could predict moments from the passenger bc id seen otcot. the passenger seemed to mirror otcot but, imo anyway, it was less structured? but it also had some better dialogue and the acting was great and i LOVED the scenary they used i ate that shit upp. but yeah it didnt have the same build-up as otcot did imo. also we cant forget that otcot was jerrod carmichael's directorial debut and for a debut that film was honestly fantastic.

He just doesn’t experess it my guy. ❀ You and Avdol got separated a lot from the group but you two manage to talk a lot, and just like Kakyoing you two learn a lot of things about each other. He wore simple clothes of yours and you wore clothes that were also simple because it was hot again and you still can’t handle too much heat since you might faint or something. ❀ You two struggled but managed to defeat the stand user which made you two switch back to your original bodies, you two would probably prank the others that you’ll be stuck with each other’s bodies forever and pretend to act like each other just to get a reaction from the rest. ❀ You and Avdol had fun picking on everyone making them think you’ll be switched forever, Polnareff kept comforting you two thinking that it’s actually real but you two are so good at acting that Polnareff got fooled. Just been thinking about the scene in "Gorizilla" where Adrien jumps off the skyscraper and Gabriel is forced to show some emotions while writing another post and I... I just-

I was just as glad as everyone else to see Gabriel expressing genuine concern and fear for Adrien, it hit especially hard BECAUSE he was being Hawkmoth at that moment. But this

THIS???

I just noticed how much of a bastard thing this was of him to say.

Think about it. This situation came to be because Gabriel completely disregarded Adrien when he just wanted to ask his father the short but very important question (which Adrien made known) of getting to see his mothers film in the movie theaters and send him away to his room when he noticed Adriens ring again which led to him suspecting Adrien to be Chat Noir. Gabriel wanted to confront Adrien about it but because Gabriel literally treated him like shit Adrien run away to see it anyway to which Gabriel reacts by sending the Gorilla after him (go after him yourself jerk,YOU fucked this up). The Gorilla can't catch Adrien though so Gabriel chews him out and immediately akumatizes him so Adrien has to reveal himself to free himself so he can help Ladybug deakumatize him.

Well, things escalate eventually leading to Adrien jumping off a skyscraper at the same time Ladybug gets caught by Gorizilla leaving her unable to save him from certain DEATH and here we are now

Adrien is falling to his death and Gabriel as Hawkmoth is literally BEGGING him to transform if he really indeed is Chat Noir.

....

Do you also see whats so genuinely fucked up about this scenario here? Let me repeat it:

Gabriel, the man who is not only the cause of all of this but also the one and only person involved who's is in complete control here, is begging ADRIEN, of whom he doesn't even know for sure if he really is Chat Noir, to transform to de-escalate his own fall to his death.

Gabriel Garbage Agreste, how DARE you start begging as if you were any kind of victim in this?!

Let me break it down just how much is wrong with all of this:

Even though Gabriel is fully aware that HE is the person in control here and is NOT sure if Adrien, who is literally about to die in mere moments, even has a definite way of saving himself, he's still putting the active "decision making" on ADRIEN. Who, let me remind you, can NOT hear Hawkmoth/Gabriel begging him to transform! Gabriel is making ADRIEN the one responsible for the outcome of this situation right now even though there is still the very real possibility that Adrien has no possible way of knowing that Hawkmoth is counting on him to transform BECAUSE HE MIGHT NOT BE A MIRACULOUS HOLDER IN THE FIRST PLACE!

It doesn't matter at all that Gabriel was correct with his suspicion because he's just immediately throwing all the responsibility he holds for this entire situation right off of himself, playing poor bystander father, when HE is the one who holds all the power and therefore should be the one immediately taking action in HIS chaos for which HIS SON is about to lose his life!

In addition to that point, let's talk about the ridiculous amount of time Gabriel let Adrien fall while just standing there waiting and begging.

Because Gabriel is not only asking Adrien to transform once, he's asking TWICE.

There are 31(!!!) seconds beween Hawkmoths reaction to Adrien jumping and Ladybugs yoyo-string reaching Adrien and even though one certainly can make an argument here that the show time does not translate into the “real” time as well, but even if, there is no way in hell these 31 insane seconds would ever realistically come down to a number that isnt unforgivable long concidering the circumstances. And even then he's only letting Ladybug go to catch him because he hears Ladybug call to an absend Chat Noir for help, finally getting it through his thick skull just how close he is to having his own sons blood on his hands.

Gabriel was willing to let his own, possibly innocent, son fall to his DEATH for this long for the off-chance of him revealing himself to be Chat Noir because Gabriel is unwilling or simply incapable of taking on the obvious responsibility he holds until things reach such unspeakable limits that he has to face reality for a moment so not everything goes up in flames.

But I'm not done yet. Oh no, definitely NOT.

Because even after waiting for so long he’s forced to let Ladybug go, this is still not the moment that convinced Gabriel of Adriens innocence. Its only after Wayham doubles as Adrien while Adrien transforms into Chat to join the fight that the sight of Adrien and Chat Noir at the same place eventually convinces him.

Look at his face here and dare to tell me he wasnt still 100% convinced that Adrien could very likely be Chat Noir. Also dafuq kind of reaction is “Well, thats for the better” with THAT expression? That is NOT anywhere close to the relieved expression he SHOULD have had here! How much horrible stuff has already happened to Chat Noir at this point of the show? And THIS is how you react to the for-any-somewhat-resonable-parent GODSEND (but false) news that it wasnt your own flesh and blood you did this to? Yeah, you truly care Hawkbitch. Can someone please just call child protection services already?!

So even after this IMMENSE risk Adrien was not yet save from his supervillain father and neither was he Gabriels actual priority after “finding out” that Adrien is NOT Chat and he just put his CIVILIAN son through all of THIS. Which is exactly what happened in "heros day" part 1 and 2, where in part 1 he once again tells Gorizilla to protect Adrien, he is his "number 1 priority" but in part 2, after Adrien escaped from his akumatized bodyguard, Gorizilla is one of the giants Hawkmoth calls to himself but Gabriel has nothing to say to that. It was literally like he totally forgot about Adrien all together which is only made clearer by Hawkmoth later on straight up calling himself "a man with nothing to lose".

Fuck you Gabriel, Adrien was literally never an actual priority for you and you proof it over and over again.

And apparently even a situation that proofs someones innocence in every possible factor will not be proof enough for Gabriel to accept that he was wrong if it was HIM who had to back down and take the needed action to de-escalate the situation and not someone else. Any situation that forces "weakness" of him and doesnt end with an undoubtable proof that 100% satisfies/clears his previous intention holds no worth in credibility for him, no matter how irrational or contra-productive it is to still cling onto it. Because Gabriel/Hawkmoth refuses to be the one having to back down and to be out-stubborned by anyone else. If he isnt the one tricking the others his paranoia and ego stop him from thinking clearly. Especially concering Gabriels and Adriens always worsening relationship, this is a bloody dark red allert for the future.

But besides that, lets talk about just how much of an selfish, self-centered and irresponsible thing is it of him to ask ADRIEN to pull the sacrifice in this moment?

Adrien didn't refuse to transform for no reason. If he were to do it not only everybody in Paris would see it but HAWKMOTH as well and Adrien has no way of knowing that Hawkmoth at this point is not as much his enemy as he rightfully thinks and actually just wants him safe and sound right now. Adrien is perfectly aware that the moment Hawkmoth finds out about his identity he WILL take advantage of it, endangering his loved ones, friends etc (naturally including Gabriel himself as Adriens father as a big priority) and going after him mercilessly until he gets his ring. Adrien didn't refuse to save himself for nothing and that's important as hell!

Because here is Gabriel now begging Adrien to pull that exact sacrifice even though HE could stop this whenever he wanted, saving Adrien himself.

But he doesn't right away

And do you know why he doesn't?

Because stopping it required letting go of Ladybug and that could possibly lead to him losing the chance of getting her miraculous.

So this rotten insult to fatherhood wants to tell me now that he's a poor, poor father who fears for his dear sons life while basically asking ADRIEN to be the one to pull the bloody heavy sacrifice that will lead in Adriens eyes to horrible and devastating consequences for all of his loved ones and himself.

Just so Gabriel himself doesn't have to do it!

This is Gabriels default reaction by instinct. Gabriel are you FUCKING kidding me with this bullshit? How come I only noticed the fucked up second face of this scene now? I went so long actually giving Gabriel some legit credit for this but in reality this is beyond 7 stars of awful.

Once again, I applause Miraculous for this nuanced charactersation. This is what I will forever and ever love this show for and its fine to portray this because it obviously leads up to something

So let me say this with every inch of my heart:
