I really have no excuse for this one, but if you’re into Barduil, sexual tension, parenting issues, and dinosaurs, you’ve come to the right place. This is my first attempt at a fic for Barduil Month 2024 @bi-widower-dads!

An excerpt:

Alfrid looks up at Bard. A nasty grin crosses his face. “I was looking for you,” he says.

“I’m off,” Bard says. “As of – three seconds ago.”

“Well, get back on,” Alfrid says. “There’s a problem with the new attraction.”

“No, there isn’t.” Bard checked on the aviary first thing this morning. The Dimorphodon are settling in just fine. “The new keepers and the old ones might not be getting along great, but that hasn’t got anything to do with guest experience.”

Dis checks his tablet. “Bard’s right. All our guest polls are coming back positive on the new attraction.”

“Not the new attraction,” Alfrid says. “The new attraction.”

Jurassic World AU where Steve takes the Party to the island for Dustin’s birthday, meets hot velociraptor trainer!Billy, they proceed to meet up in secret for the entire vacation until on the last day when all hell breaks loose. Steve can’t find the kids so he and Billy go on an epic quest, Dustin makes friends with a young unspecified dinosaur, and no one can figure out what the fuck the scientists have let loose on the island.

It takes less than five minutes for the Jeep ride to get awkward, and Bard’s perfectly happy to blame it on his passenger. Oropherion isn’t wearing shoes, and when Bard offered to turn around so he could grab some, he said no. The second he got in the car, he reclined his seat back all the way, propped his filthy feet up on the dashboard, and closed his eyes. Bard tolerates it for exactly three minutes. He knows how long it is because he’s been watching the clock.

“Look,” he finally says, “if I crash this car, you’re going to break both your legs.”

The summers were always hot in Isla Nublar, but this year was particularly suffocating. With record heat, the Island had turned into a living Hell. And so, working under the scorching sun kinda felt like working in Hell.

But Fish didn't seem all too bothered by the heatwave anymore, too busy noticing that Drew had just removed his shirt. She couldn't blame him, even at 9PM the heat was unforgiving. No, the problem was that she couldn't help staring. Staring and blushing.

She had to look down quickly, hiding the flush of her cheeks. Luckily, she had been cleaning the floor near the dinosaur pool, so she had a good reason to focus on something else than Drew's very exposed chest.

"Heat's killing us today, hm?" she tried asking casually, but she sounded just a little bit awkward.
