When a strange man wanders into the store, he thinks you need a little nudge to embrace the strings connecting you. Next thing you know you’re waking up in a body that definitely doesn’t belong to you. You can’t decide if it’s the best or worst thing that’s ever happened to you.

🗨️ This is utterly perfection! It is so funny and hilarious - but it is also insanely smutty! It’s really interesting with body swapping, what they learn about each other, lol. I read this on a day where I was feeling down, and it honestly made my day! 💜Also, now I kinda wanna watch ‘She’s the Man’ 😂

🗨️ This has been on my reading list for so freaking long! 🥹 And now I finally got to read it, and damn, it is one of the best, filthiest fics out there. So, so good! 💯🥵

📝 Min Yoongi is the top hacker in the world. He has put away countless other cyber criminals all whilst evading detection by virtually everyone he has ever crossed paths with, including the government. The diabolical super hacker that came close to tracking him down is now serving a 10 year prison sentence, all thanks to Yoongi’s handiwork. So what happens when the sentence is shortened unexpectedly? What happens when the biggest threat to public safety is roaming the streets again, determined to get revenge on the man who put him away? What happens when the worlds most infamous hacker just so happens to manage your local Mikrokosmic Electronics? A terabyte of trouble.

🗨️ Shit this was incredibly good!!!! Why isn’t it finished? 😭 I don’t usually read unfinished or discontinued series, but the summary really had me and I just had to read it – and now I’m hooked and I want more of this sexy hot hacker Yoongi! 😭 The story was also just so well written and the chemistry between reader and oc was so fucking perfect, and don’t get me started on the smut, like ugh 🥵 Gosh, I’m so sad there aren’t more parts to it (like the author planned four parts). But it’s so so good, and the cliffhanger isn’t horrible (in terms of wanting to read the next chapter). It can definitely be read as a one shot, I just really, really wished there was more, because, fuck, it was perfect! 💯💜✨

📝 Throughout high school, you sometimes caught glimpses of your brother’s older friends: some of them were sweet, some of them were smart. but the one closest to him? that guy was a total f*ckboy from day one. after a foray of horrid relationships spanning years - ending with one that broke up with you for an alarming reason - you needed advice on what the hell you were doing wrong… and this wasn’t a conversation for anyone sweet or smart.

🗨️ this one is special to me (as is everything Ella writes honestly). This one is very controversial because of the cheating aspect in it, but it feels so real and it’s very well handled! I love it! It’s very angsty too, made me cry multiple times– I was just so invested in it! I’m really trying not to spoil too much (I already have lol). Just, read it okay??? ✨

📝 Making hating Christmas your entire personality was never the plan. Then again, it seems bad things only ever happen around Christmas - like discovering your fiancé cheating on you, forcing you to move back to your sleepy hometown. But Min Yoongi happens to love Christmas, and if there is one thing your very stubborn childhood crush is going to do, it’s try to reignite your Christmas spirit. Even if he has to force-feed it to you with gingerbread cookies and too-sweet eggnog.

perfume anon again:

first thing i gotta say is lol we a similar cheap girl hack. i will be that person and ask for a sample of the same perfume every single time i come in bc why spend mine when i can spend yours. and those sample bottles fit so well in my small bags. :) i also like to shove literal handfuls of the empty sample spray bottles (mostly found in the perfume department at Nordstroms) into my bag for my own personal use when i want to re up on my perfume through the day without having to buy travel sprays (if it’s even available)

my current faves: Drunk Saffron by BTSO and Lost Cherry by Tom Ford

those two are i would consider to be warm dark fruits of an overall gourmand variety. so very edible scents. and that would probably be the best description of the scents i go for now, but my god. good perfumes that match that description are exactly as hard to find as you can imagine. (also i have smelled very Lost Cherry dupe out there. and have directly compared them to LC. i always choose LC on scent alone. targets dupe is the only one worth the money imo)

id say the only thing that seems to be consistent in my perfume purchases are fruit notes. beyond that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

but DKNYs Be Delicious is forever one of my favorites, my mom had it growing up and i loved it then and i still love it now. (which is what drew me to Zara’s applejuice). that is the most true fruit scent ive liked.

but i also have Black Tulip by NEST and that is a warm floral scent with dark fruits. that perfume BY FAR is my most complimented scent. especially by men. take that as you will.

I'm taking notes and btw that is also what drew me to Zara applejuice which was a blind buy for me 😋📝

📝: Who is your favorite Grumpus to WRITE FOR?

This was hard! I'd say that Floofty is the easiest/most comfortable to write. There's something about their narrowly focused worldview and accidental rudeness that makes writing them feel very natural. The deliberate rudeness I do have to think about, though.

But the most fun is probably Clumby. I enjoy the contrast of a grumpy, pragmatic character with a ton of trauma and conflicting loyalties who wants to do the right thing, but isn't necessarily going to be nice about it. I'm speculating on some of those character traits, but I'm not pulling them out of nowhere.

Also, Chandlo, Snorpy and the Journalist are really fun to write as a trio. I think the Journalist has just enough in common with both Chandlo and Snorpy to bring out sides of them they wouldn't normally show to each other directly.

🫂: What grumpus would give the best hugs?

Well, apparently not Snorpy. Probably Chandlo or Gramble. Out of the characters with long arms, Chandlo is the strongest, and the most affectionate, although the Journalist's stance on affection is unclear. And Gramble has long arms for his size, and likes hugs so much that even his character description mentions it. So definitely one of those two. As long as Chandlo watches his strength.

💕: What's your favorite ships? (Either Canon, Non canon, or canon x oc!)

I like all the canon ships, but my favourite is Chandlo and Snorpy. They're two of my favourite characters (Nearly half the cast is my favourite character), and they complement each other so well. Now that they're communicating a bit better, they're probably going to be unstoppable.

I don't have any canon character/OC ships, but my favourite noncanon ship is Filbo and the Journalist! I ship it platonically, but I also enjoy the romatic version. Filbo and the Journalist are two more of my favourite characters, and I think they should be best friends and be extremely supportive of each other forever.

🌵: Thoughts about Cactriffy?

I have the unpopular opinion that it's not really sentient, and that Wambus or Triffany are the ones moving it around. Triffany uses it as a weapon in the final battle, so I don't think she's that bothered by it. I can't remember if Triffany puts it down before going to the ship, or if she just puts it away, and I guess it's weird that it's on the beach on the end if it's the second one, Possessions are kind of flexible in this game, though.

I don't know what's up with the letter you get, but maybe someone sent it as a prank or a joke after they saw the Journalist take an interest. Maybe Triffany.

…But if Wambus isn't creative, then who was Cactriffy has a favourite Bugsnak????

🩷: What's a fandom headcanon that everyone agreed on that you love? Do you have any of your own headcanons you wish to share?

I don't think there's any headcanons that everyone agrees on. Not even the one about Grumpuses hatching from eggs. Speaking of oviparous Grumpuses, I really like that headcanon! Grumpuses already canonically have some cool non-human traits (their giant sock puppet mouths…), and eggs open up some more points of difference. I like the idea of Grumpuses being bear relatives who re-evolved egg-laying, and their scientists being really confused about where they fit in at first. And maybe their pop culture sees egg-laying as a prerequisite to being sapient.

For a related headcanon, I think the natural history of their planet is similar to Earth's, but the ancestor of placental mammals kept colour vision, result in its descendents developing bird-like structural colour. So being brightly coloured like the Grumpuses is not uncommon among other mammals. Also, other animals tend to have the muppety noses and ping pong ball looking eyes, but the limited movement in the lower jaw is a Grumpus trait specifically.

⌚: what do you think some of the grumpuses were like before events? (I.e. as kids, as teens, etc)

I think about this a lot, but a lot of it's more about family circumstances than personality. Probably the most fleshed out is that the Journalist was a super weird kid, which was fine until they hit their preteen years and the social rules tightened up. They didn't realise things had changed, and kept making animal noises and cornering people to tell them about the latest Mothgrump sightings, until they lost all their friends and became a social outcast. Their parents were also different kinds of social disaster, so they couldn't do much to help.

After a few years, they focused really hard on observing people until they'd learned how they were expected to act. It didn't help them in high school, because everyone already knew them and they weren't very subtle about all the observing, but it did help in college. By this point they were wary of forming close relationships, but they had a lot of friendly acquaintances.

They seem kind of detached in the game, at least initially, so I was expanding on that and also being self-indulgent.

Also! I wrote a fanfic where it comes up, but Chandlo was skinny as a kid and bulked up so he could protect others better, and Snorpy had selective mutism as a result of being picked on for the way he speaks. Chandlo helped him get over a few years later, after finding out from Floofty why he was so afraid to speak. Floofty themself was pretty similar to how they are as an adult, just less experienced and less jaded.

A little later on Snorpy had a crush on every boy. Except Chandlo.

100 reasons to stay

It’s becoming harder for me to stay grounded these days, something difficult rose up within me and re-triggered all those fearful feelings I’ve been trying to stomach my whole life. Feelings so big and so raw that more often than not, I feel debilitated from a viable solution that will sustain my light. And so as I am fighting through this, the battle to keep my mind needs reminders of why. There are a million reasons to stay…Here is the short list.

There are versions of me that want to be experienced in the future. I won’t be able to know anything about them unless I stay. 💃🏾🙋🏾‍♀️🙆🏾‍♀️💁🏾‍♀️

I haven’t gone to all the concerts and heard all the music I want to hear live. 🎤 🎶

I haven’t bought a leather sectional to take naps on in my cute little forever home. 🛋️

I haven’t bought my cute little forever home. 🏡

I’ve never been to Niagara Falls, the Great Wall of China, or the Taj Mahal. There is so much out there to see both domestic and abroad. ✈️ 🏔️

There are more people I need to love and be loved by, my two little girls included. 👧🏿 👧🏿

My granny can’t take another heartbreak. 👵🏾 💔

My mother can’t take the heartbreak of my absence. 👩🏽 💔

The place where I am meant to be professionally, spiritually, and physically depends on my presence. 📍

Those Marshall and TJ Maxx runs where I’m finding cute mugs and pictures and seeing all the shiny things that releases that dopamine rush…yea, I want more of those moments. Wearing flip flops, feeling that cool store air tickle my thighs in a summer dress while I’m in the purse aisle, nothing quite like it. 🛍️

I want to paint. Even if it’s just me getting a canvas from an art supply store. 🎨

The veil is not thick enough to dissuade me from believing that there is something so beautiful, so patient, so wondrous and gentle about life. And I have a deep resonating feeling that what is waiting for me in this lifetime is incredibly fulfilling. The little things. The moments I could have never bargained for. The reason why I’m alive. It’s actually for good. 😌

I have puzzles I want to compete. 🧩

When I wrote that I am more than just a single lifetime in my lineage, but the silent catalyst for change, that meant that my whole existence is to off-shed those limiting beliefs about my resiliency and to incite generational healing as a lifestyle. ❤️‍🩹

There is always a solution to my problem. That’s what life is…chalk full of options. I just have to be willing to explore them. 🕵🏾

Gratitude. Simplistic pure gratitude. For all that I am and will be. For all that I was and have been. For the colorful opportunistic realm of possibilities. Everything is so very possible for me. Life is built in my mind’s eye, manifested in the tangible. 👁️

Because I get the privilege of loving and rooting for my damn self, forever and unapologetically ☝🏾 🖤 🤎 💜 And that’s nobody’s business but my own.

I haven't figured out all of the genres of movies I like, and there are a lot more favorites for me to add to my collection.

How tall am I: 5'3" (or roughly 160 cm)

Fave book: there are far too many to list but for simplicity's sake, I'm going to say it's The Shining by Stephen King. That book struck such a powerful chord with me and I cry every time I re-read it (which is often. I cry when re-reading Doctor Sleep also.) And I figure it has to have the spot of favorite book when I was willing to spend a pretty penny just to get a Cemetery Dance edition of it!

Fave quote: Again, way too many to name, and I'm not sure I can actually think of any of them at the moment! ^^;; Sorry about that!

Fave movie: it's gotta be Candyman (1992). For years it's been Mohabbatein (and that one is STILL up in a top spot, but oof, does it take some dedication to sit down and rewatch a 3+ hour Bollywood musical romance-drama in one go) but Candyman I fell in love with from the start. Everything about that movie is immaculate to me, and I can rewatch it (and have) several times over and never get tired of it. It's beautiful, and it owns my heart. It's not a favorite horror film, it's just my favorite film, period, bar none.

1. I'm writing whole ass movies - I wrote a whole ass movie. And maybe a book. Like my life is not at all where I thought I'd be at this age, or ever, and I'm really really proud of myself for taking the leap and excited for what's to come.

2. ^ I got feedback from two different contests and hearing about what real industry professionals had to say about my story, and my characters specifically, has been the most rewarding and motivating thing ever. I want to write and learn and keep going 💛

3. I've been doing a lot of house projects and I just finished re-doing a lot of things, but I think my favorite are the colors I'm switching my bedroom & bathroom to as well as my new vinyl set up 🥹 idk, my house is just feeling clean and inspiring and lovely lately.

Mindful Creativity Week 13: Put Your Hands In Paint!

Our fingerprints are totally unique to us, which means they’re a one-of-a-kind tool that only YOU will ever have…

ACTION STEP This week I want you to really connect with your creative instincts. 👉 It’s time to fingerpaint! What kind of art would you create if you only had your hands, some paint, and a blank canvas? Allow your intuition to guide you.

Mindful Creativity Week 14: Get Outside

From the way light falls on a tree trunk to the intricate patterns of a butterfly's wings, there's no shortage of beauty and wonder to be found when we step outside our front doors! Spend some time outside this week to observe the world around you… You might find more inspiration than you know what to do with!

ACTION STEP 👉 Bring the paint to the patio! Whether you set up a canvas en plein air or you redecorate your porch, a little fresh air can totally re-energize your creative instincts! If you’re on Pinterest a lot like I am (follow me!) then you know that porch decor and painted patios are everywhere. Folks are starting to realize that the spaces we create outside of our homes are just as important as the spaces we create inside!

Mindful Creativity Week 12: Break the mold!

I remember the first time that I painted a piece of furniture that truly took my breath away. It was when I stopped trying to paint pieces that I thought other people would like and started painting things that got me excited! I took myself from one or two or three colors to six or seven or eight. I blended, I added layers, I added texture.

And then I added water.

And the paint started to drip.

And I knew that I was onto something.

Because breaking that mold and doing something I’d never seen before made my heart soar and it caught some attention.

ACTION STEP This week, your job is to break the mold and do something you’ve never seen done before. In honor of March Mixed Media Mayhem (this month’s challenge in my Creative Connection group!), your action step this week is to 👉 combine three (or more) of your favorite things into one creative work. Maybe you like embroidery, painting, and sunsets. How could you put those three things together into one piece of art? What would that look like?

Allow yourself to imagine the possibilities and see where it takes you.

Mindful Creativity Week 11: Get Outside Your Bubble

The Adventure volume (print copies on sale now!) of The Turquoise Iris Journal left me with one very important takeaway that can be summed up by a quote from Max de Pree:

📝📚 “We cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are.”

Despite how comfortable it is in the comfort zone, I am rewarded by an abundance of blessings every time I step outside my bubble and meet new people. No matter where I go or who I meet, I am left feeling better for it! Just last week I picked up a new settee…

…And found out that the seller works in publishing!!! And I happened to have a copy of The Turquoise Iris Journal to share with her!!! She was over-the-moon excited to see a creative Journal produced by someone in OKC just like her. All it took was a little bravery and a willingness to start a conversation and I managed to create a powerful connection with a total stranger.

Maybe it’s a coincidence… or maybe it’s a reminder that being open to new experiences and new people will enrich our lives.

ACTION STEP 👉 Make some new friends. It’s incredible what a fresh perspective can do for our hearts, minds, and creativity! This week, your challenge is to connect with a new person or group. Take a class with a teacher you’ve never met, visit a shop in your city that you’ve never visited, or find a group of beginners to join and pick up a new hobby. Be intentional about connecting with other people in a meaningful way…

I think you’ll be surprised how much it improves your week and inspires you!
