What if when Raven comes back (Come on V10!) we get a team-up/mission between just her and Ruby, paralleling the secret mission she went on with Summer that we saw in V9C10
So much potential
Raven being uncomfortable because she sees so much of Summer in Ruby, and also her trying desperately not to speak of what happened with Summer, but also a growing desire in Raven to protect her other daughter the last piece of her friend (lover?)
Is it just me or in the Volume 10 storyboards it seems like Qrow has his semblance more under control than he used to?
Maybe I’m just being hopeful here in wanting that kind of semblance growth for Qrow and his character.
I’m not by any means saying that him wearing Clover’s pin as a “good luck charm” is what is happening, but it’s RWBY and that could be what they’re going for?
I have no idea & while that is cute & gay of him, I think it’s actually just his mental state/emotions helping his semblance get under control more. Alternatively or simultaneously he’s been training to control it the entire time (whatever length of time that would be) that team RWBY & Jaune have been away!
We saw Neo’s semblance change/grow with her mental health; so, I would say it’s safe to assume that any other semblance has the writing potential to also grow & change.
Qrow would be a VERY powerful player in the coming conflicts if this is what they’re going for. Someone who can somewhat control luck/the trajectory of outcomes to some extent would be very helpful (this reminds me of a Jojo stand power a bit) & give his character more screen time too.
This does have time to change if it’s what they’re going for as I’ve heard this was supposedly before some Volume 9 changes were made (or I’m just looking too much into it which could absolutely be the case).
I really hope that what Neo did to Ruby makes her feel hurt when she sees Oscar or when she hears Ozpin talk. Mainly because of all of the visions she saw, Ozpin and Oscar are the only ones who she can still interact with, the rest were dead.
So yeah, i think that if a fake Ozpin beats you to the point where you have bruises and you see how you killed a fake oscar, it's only logical to have a reaction when you see them again in Vacuo.
Why I’m Somewhat Okay With Weiss Not Having the Spotlight in Volume 9
Before I even get started, I want to make it clear that I do feel rob that Weiss didn’t really have a focus this Volume when everyone else did, including the villains and Little. This isn’t a knock at their arcs, I’m just a little bummed out that Weiss didn’t get anything.
But I’m not here to be negative. I’m here to be positive.
I am somewhat okay with Weiss being ignored for the most part in Volume 9 because that means Volume 10 is potentially a Weiss focused volume.
I wholeheartedly believe that Weiss is going to be Volume 10. As I stated earlier, everyone had their arcs in Volume 9 except Weiss. Everyone at the crossroads had the chance to find out what they needed to. That includes Little who ascended to become Somewhat. If it wasn’t for the crossroads, I’d probably be hesitant since Weiss has stated firmly who she is and where she stands in this world.
I am the granddaughter of a hero and a child of a villain. I am the citizen of a fallen kingdom and an heir to nothing. I will not be defined by my name because I will be the who will define it.
-Volume 9, Chapter 4
However, it is clear to Weiss that she isn’t entirely sure what that entails for her. She knows what path she’s on, but she doesn’t seem ready to go through it. She’s lost her home. It may not even be a stretch to suggest that she was okay with being in Atlas after spending months there being a huntress with the rest of her friends and team.
But Atlas is gone, and there’s nothing she can do to fix that.
She clearly needs help and guidance. This doesn’t seem like a journey she can do alone. It’s possible that everyone who was in The Ever After will help, or it could be the rest of her family.
However, I believe there’s one person who will help her.
Ruby was the only one who saw Weiss looking at the reflection of Atlas. When Atlas fell, Ruby also lost what may as well been her best friend: Penny. I don’t believe that Ruby’s arc is over, rather that Volume 9 merely got the ball rolling. It is also about time that they had a meaningful conversation together. No group hug at the end, just Weiss and Ruby.
I know this seems superficial from the guy who won’t shut the fuck up about WhiteRose, but I believe Ruby and Weiss being partners come first in the show, not their romance. Weiss understands Ruby the best because she promised she did since the first night they were a team.
Ruby, I think you have what it takes to be a good leader. Just know that I’m going to be the best teammate you’ll ever have.
-Volume 1, Chapter 10
Ruby has always been the one to get us through the hard times. We say things like “We believe in you. We can count on you.” I know we mean well, but…
-Volume 9, Chapter 8
Weiss has consistently shown she understands Ruby best. I think it’s time that Ruby shows how much she understands Weiss. To understand how Weiss feels losing both her homes and potentially having no place to go back to. To understand how it feels to see everyone in Vacuo happy while she is the heir to nothing and the citizen of a fallen kingdom.
Weiss will get through her arc, and her partner will be there to help.
Guys, thanks for reading this today. I hope you have enjoyed and taken something away from this. As always, take care.
The four Kingdoms, humanity, is united in the fight against Salem, and thus her plans seem to be ruined
Salem's goal appears to be a spiteful effort to see humanity wiped out, and intends to achieve this by using the 4 relics to summon the gods, who will then pass judgment onto humanity based on whether it is united
But humanity is now united against her, if Salem were to get the remaining relics and summon the gods, humanity would not be destroyed, as they are united, and as long as she's a threat united they shall likely remain
Salem is trapped in a way, in order for humanity to be divided she must no longer be a threat, but she's a threat because she's after the relics, but by going after the relics she gives humanity something to unite against
Therefore, we're about to see a new side of Salem, something we've never seen from her and something she's never been before
