Stardew Valley Headcanon: Shane and Emily at the flower dance

so obviously Shane wasn’t planning on actually dancing with anyone, he’s only in the right outfit in the first place because Jas is wearing one of the dresses and Vincent didn’t wanna match with her so he dusted his off to make her happy

and of course Jas’s mini flower dress was made by Emily. Marnie had Emily make it as a gift for the first birthday she spent in Pelican town, hopefully to get her excited about her new home and it’s fun traditions

Now Emily loves the aesthetics of the dance, but didn’t ever really participate herself, and until this year, nobody was expecting her to

Before Leah and Elliott came to town, the participants were both younger on average and living under the roof of one of the older people in town.

Except Harvey of course, but he volunteered mostly so that the numbers would be even

But Leah an Elliott were absolutely the kind of people to participate in this kind of thing, and with them AND Harvey involved, she couldn’t exactly hide from it as well.

Now Shane had moved back only recently, but he (much to his dismay) knew the dance all too well. You spend enough time in a place (albeit on and off) you just, don’t forget certain things

So Emily came up to him, and laid out her situation:

“Hey, I think we should be flower dance partner. Not romantically, obviously, but symbiotically”

“I am expected to dance this year, for sure. You… might be? I’m not yet sure whether the town considers you one of the Dads or one of the Bachelors, but Marnie? Marnie is definitely expecting you to dance. Dancing with me gets Marnie off your back”

Shane, ever the self loathing cynic, replies “What’s in it for you?”

“Well, see I have a girlfriend. Her name is Sandy and we send each other long handwritten letters and pressed flowers in the mail. I am in love with her. But I’m not exactly ready for everyone in town to know this. And I’m being expected to dance.”

“There are only two single men in town even remotely close to qualifying to participate: You and Clint. And Clint is lovely as a friend, but I am pretty intuitive. I know he has a crush on me. I know if I say yes to his flower dance invitation, he will see it a romantic, which is a problem because, you know, girlfriend”

Shane of course still doesn’t really want to dance. But it would get Marnie off his back, Jas would be absolutely giddy about seeing him dance, and Emily is one of the people in this town he can stand.

“Okay fine, I’ll do it.” he says and Emily is delighted. “But if Clint so much as even talks to me tonight I drink for free tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Sam and Penny are trying to teach Jas and Vincent the Dance. Jas is getting it, but Vincent just isn’t. Shane comes over to stand next to Penny to watch Jas and Vincent dance while Sam is over Vincent’s shoulder, trying to tell him how to move his feet.

“Hey blondie, what the fu- rick does “Move your feet more like a junimo even mean?” Shane asks “You know, just like.” and Sam does it. “I mean I guess, but then just show him that instead of given him nonsense verbal directions.”

“Dude, Vincent can’t dance. Nobody can teach him.”

So they Bet on it. If Shane can teach Vincent the Dance, Sam will give him one of his off days (not trade, give) and if he can’t he has to give Sam one of his.

Sam goes to talk to Seb and Abby, and Emily joins Penny in spectating the dance lessons. It’s actually surprisingly effective. Penny is always very surprised every time she’s reminded of how naturally good Shane is at teaching.

Soon enough, Vincent knows the dance well enough to warrant a victory. “That’s be one Summer 4th please.”

Anyway, the dance is beginning now, so everyone to their places.

It goes exactly as it does.

Clint is of course very jealous, and tries to do that whole “congratulations on winning her”thing, and obviously Shane is having none of it, cussing him out for both treating Emily like a trophy and for thinking he could talk to him

So he didn’t intend on dancing but he’s walking away with a free night of drinks, Jas’s birthday off, and maybe an almost friend, which he supposed isn’t horrible and probably worth the dumb little dance

Clint isn’t actually unattractive, Sandy decides, eyeing the man up and down. He needs a good scrubbing to get that soot off, and maybe to have some lessons about how to treat women forcibly instilled, but, well. Sandy kind of enjoys instilling those. The more forcibly, the better.

“Um, can I help you?” Clint asks awkwardly, shifting under Sandy’s scrutinizing gaze.

Sandy grins wolfishly down at him. “Actually, sweetie, I think you can. Mind if I take a seat?”

The blacksmith’s eyes go wide when Sandy settles directly into his lap, but to his credit, he doesn’t so much as grunt at the extra weight. Sandy’s nearly six foot herself, so that’s no small feat. “Um,” he says again, sounding a tad strangled. “S-sure?”

“Oh, I almost am, sweetie,” Sandy purrs, smoothing a hand over his beard where it curls down towards his chest, delighting at the pounding of his heart beneath it. “I usually play with Emily on nights like this, but…” she trails off, turning to look at Emily back by the bar. The blue-haired girl’s face is almost as red as her dress; she’s not the jealous type, so Sandy knows it’s all horror and humiliation. She knows exactly what Sandy’s doing; Sandy is absolutely allowed by their agreement to do it, too, as long as she doesn’t let Clint touch Emily directly. “I think it’d be more fun with you watching, don’t you?”

Clint stops breathing. “Wh-what?” he stammers, sounding absolutely lost.

Sandy leans in to murmur in his ear, feeling his erection against her hip. “Well, in about twenty minutes,” she purrs, breath hot on his ear, “I’m going to be taking my pretty girl into a private room in the back and doing all the awful, filthy things to her that you’ll never get to do.”

Clint’s eyes flutter shut on a pained look. “Why are you torturing me?”

The crowd roars, and she can feel their anticipation like a palpable thing. It’s so fucking heady, having this many people waiting on her word.

“This is his first time on stage, and he’s a little shy, but I just adopted an *adorable* new puppy, and I want you all to give him a big hand on his very first day of obedience training!”

Sandy covers the mic and whistles once, sharply. There’s a shuffling at the curtains at the edge of the stage, but her new pet doesn’t show himself. Mic still covered, voice pitched low, she warns, “If I have to whistle a second time, sweetie, I’ll take it out on you while they watch.”

The curtains part, and a full black leather dog mask noses between them. “I look ridiculous,” Clint grumbles from behind it.

Sandy grins at him. “Good. You’ll look even sillier when I’m done with you. Now get out here, or forfeit your new position.” Louder, she calls, “Get out here, puppy!”

Clint groans, but there’s a thud as he drops to all fours, and then her new puppy is crawling his way into the warm glow of the stage lights. The mask covers his whole head, hiding his identity entirely. The rest of his costume isn’t quite so generous: a studded dog collar, wrist and ankle cuffs, and a pair of black leather chaps over a pair of lacy panties in Sandy’s signature shade of blue.

The crowd cheers a bit, but it’s halfhearted at best.

Sandy giggles. They’re always jealous when she brings in a new sub from anywhere but the crowd; she revels in it, really. The intensity of their envy gives her *life*.

“So…do you guys wanna see my puppy get his cute lil cock into a knot cage before we get started? He’s all *hard*, though, and leaking in my pretty panties. She lowers her head so only he can hear her, looks into his eyes through the mask. “Don’t you want to be adored, puppy?”

Sandy smiles at him, a flare of warmth curling through her gut at the sincerity in his voice. Raising her own so the crowd can hear again, she says, “Then get on your hands and knees, puppy! It’s time for your first lesson—now, don’t cum until you have permission, or I’ll make you cum three times before I let you stop.”

Clint whimpers, and the crowd goes *apeshit*.
