Cole Cassidy and an embarrassment trip down memory lane with his. Very good friend and totally not ex-friend who wants to smack him into the wall, Elizabeth Caledonia Ashe. Reader gets a juicy earful

What's not to love about your lovely hunk of junk's life. No seriously, he's told you stories—regardless of how long you've dated him—so you definitely marvel over his whole life. Or comfort him when he discusses some painful shit. Y'know, needed approaches. But for the most part, it's good reminiscing.

So you can imagine the surprise when you two, in a bar(whether you do or do not drink, y'all just there), are greeted by a woman. Either A, you know who this is, or B, you can assume who rhis is from Cole's flashbacks. You're right either way, as this is the same Elizabeth Ashe he mentioned time and time again. Surely you're up and ready to tussle with a woman to defend your man.

Actually she's really calm in this moment. No, she's mad at Cole definitely. It ain't easy feelings being around the boy. But rather than shoot him upside the head, she decides to have a little fun. Y'know, fun as in asking who you are and such. For such an intimidating woman, Ashe is giving you a lot of respect. In her mind she's like, "How the fuck? Alright, hope [reader] has fun I guess." Anyways, once getting to know you a bit, Cole notices it.

Oh no, he notices it. He's sweating. Oh no, Ashe knows you. Oh no, no, n—

"Ya wanna know some old stories about Cassidy from when he was younger? I ain't gonna fight him in front of you, so I'll embarrass him instead."

She's like the snobby(VERY COOL) older sister who wants to beat his ass. Suddenly you're nodding your head aggressively and Cole smacks his forehead onto the bar's countertop. Is this what Cole expected to do on his lovely Saturday with you at a bar? Not exactly. Much less have old memories of him resurface that would make him cringe and would make you mischievously smile.

Call it a fate worse than death by an old friend!

Some bit of conversation between you and Ashe is joyful— talks of how Cole ended up laughing so hard once that he ended up choking on his own spit after a rather successful heist in their past. Cole just frowns like an angry dog, repetitive "Shut up"s leaving his mouth while Ashe keeps talking.

She also mentions Cole was more or less clumsy in some cases, and on more than one occasion, ended up with cactus spines in him. I don't think Ashe expects you to laugh as hard as you do, as you repeatedly whack your fist on the bar counter while begging for something to give you breath so you can keep living.

Cole internally begs that you don't bring up the moment when he sat on a cactus. It's a mild blessing you're laughing too hard, honestly.

You clutch your chest in a fit of laughter as Cole groans and covers his burning face. Ashe laughs alongside you, holding you steady so you don't topple from the high chair you're sitting in. The entire time you've known Cole, he's always been this charming(and relatively easy-to-charm), super skilled and focused man—even with your own experiences with him of being a little less that and a lot more goofy or clumsy or something similar—yet hearing from someone else that he's had his fair share of childhood embarrassment is absolutely golden. Pure unmatched comedy that makes tears escape your eyes as you finally regain your life.

You look at Cole as you wipe your eyes and sniffle. "You're telling me that you caught Cole alone, singing and dancing to himself, and he didn't notice for five minutes?"

Cole's face gets redder as he mumbles some curse under his breath. Ashe laughs a little herself, the whiskey settling in a little more that makes her just loose enough. "Hips were in it and everything— and it was raw and unfiltered and...I think a part of my soul died that day, honestly."

Cole rolls his eyes. "Like you're any better!"

You snicker good-naturedly as hold onto his arm, patting his back. "I'm sure it was—" you're interrupted by a snicker from yourself as you can't stop imagining a fifteen year old Cole just having his own performance, "—a beautiful sight to behold, Cole. I'd like to get tickets to a live show one day, if they're still open."

"Discontinued forever." Cole grumbles, but can't help but smile a tiny bit as you kiss his cheek as an apology for being amused by his own little embarrassing moments.

You turn your head back to Ashe as you smile. "You got any more?"

Ashe smirks joyfully as Cole, quite literally, whines. "Ya wanna hear 'bout the time he kicked...think it was a soccer ball or somethin', but he kicked it so hard at a wall that the recoil made it hit him in the stomach?"

You happily smile and nod. Cole yells no and is now verbally pleading for mercy. Yeah, Ashe found this way more entertaining than beating his ass.
