A thunder deity perhaps inspired by the Michelin Man.
Source details and larger version.
I've encountered quite a few vintage human giants in the course of my research.

Considering the cast has grand ideas like "all of us are down to become immortal, tbh Jaheira", "I am at risk of dying from being burned alive from the inside", and "I'd like to be a god", you don't necessarily need to fuck around with ancient unstable magics for that (although in the later case, it does take a lot more time and work and risk of death).
There are generally easier ways to gain these things (except for apotheosis), but in 5e you can still solve these problems with insane amounts of XP: you need to reach level 20, when the ability score caps are raised from the mortal limits of 20 to 30, and instead of levelling up "epic boons" are put on the table (which is basically the equivalent of epic levels).
"[Boons are] extraordinary and represent the gradual transformation of a character into something resembling a demigod."
(This is the point where you're warming up towards getting ready to pick fights with the gods*; find yourself a chunk of divine essence and welcome to the start of the divine ladder, mx new quasi-deity... also it may start to alter your physical appearance as you become something more than human[oid])
Depending on DM fiat, you can get these due to plot events whenever the DM feels like awarding you one, or you gain one every 30,000xp acquired (the equivalent of levelling up). I believe beating a Solar to death will net you one, slaying an ancient red or gold dragon will net you two...
The growth in power allows various things ranging from mundane stuff like increasing your ability scores (so stuff like an almost perfect memory, the ability to process information at superhuman speed, being literally the most interesting person in the world, superhuman reflexes, or bench pressing an elephant would be within your reach) or becoming eternally healthy (immune to poison and disease of any kind)...
...over to more esoteric stuff like having permanent truesight, and hopping between the planes of reality at will, or ageless and irrevocable immortality, or turning invisible at will whenever you stand in darkness, or hacking magic. Also full immunity to specific forms of damage: Karlach's engine can't kill her if she's immune to fire. There is no boon on paper for immunity to radiant damage such as may be inflicted by the sun, but it's easy to imagine one existing.
The level cap in-game is 12, but I know the actual XP total is higher. I think I've seen people have it at least up to 15 with mods to remove the cap, but I'm not sure. Either way, I think the party is one decent campaign away from level 20. (And if we need epic level threats, Mephistopheles is clearly up to something, and it's bugging me; I think we should have a party reunion. In Mephistar. With silver weapons.)

More Father of Time references!
Just two pictures this time. An updated Oceanis, with the red marks, and Hebra! Two Hebras, actually.
So Oceanis has marks that curl up on his neck, run over his shoulders and curl back behind his shoulders. When he's wearing a somewhat normal shirt, you can see them. His deity armor is slightly different than the Fierce Deity's, as he doesn't go up as high on his neck. Having the deity marks show is a point of pride for them.
This is Hebra as we see her in the story so far. She's wild looking and her hair is a mess. I thought about adding the blue tear-drop marks on her face but honestly the hair hides it. Hebra is one of the few deities who has visible scars. How did she get those? What event led to that happening? Well, maybe you'll just have to wait and see.
But when she wants to, when things are serious, Hebra cleans up quite nice.
Okay, one more picture. I mentioned that Oceanis had a Twin Sister, so here she is! I didn't edit the marks onto her but they'd be similar, not identical, to her Brother's. The curls would be on the outside of the eyes instead of the inside, for instance.
I put her hair as basically the opposite of Oceanis' in this but honestly, their hair shifts colours a lot. It changes colours as much as the ocean does so sometimes he has hair more like this and she might have the darker hair, or they might have both had the same colours at the same time.
Oh wait! Speaking of deities who are no longer around, I made one for Protector of the Summer Storms!
She was one of the deities FD/Nocturne has mentioned in the past, one of the ones he was closer to and fought with often. Often deities would form closer bonds to those they shared a region with and maybe had similar personalities to. Summer Storms was a child of Power but wickedly smart as long as her temper didn't get the best of her. She's suppose to have blue marks as well but I haven't created the pattern for them yet. She was defeated shortly after the Protector of the Night was sealed in the mask; when she heard about what had happened, she ran off to save him and fell into a trap.
And just as a reminder, I use this picrew for these concepts! It's been the best for getting the blank, white eyes and the ears are just the right size!
Maybe someday if I ever try to progress art skills, I could actually make real art of them. Just need a few extra hours every day, that's all!

Kasogonagá, a weather goddess of the indigenous Toba people of Argentina. She takes the form of either an ant eater or elephant, being able to transform into whatever form suits her fancy at the moment, but is always clad in a rainbow of colors. She lives in the clouds above, shooting thunderbolts out of her mouth. Many stories of her benevolence have been told. One of which starts with a young man who found Kasogonagá on the ground, she explained that she had accidentally fallen from her cloud and needed help getting back up. The young man helped her make a bonfire, using the smoke given off to rise back into the sky. She thanked the young man, promising him and his family protection and fertile land, with the man becoming her shaman. Her most interesting myths come from her presence in relatively modern events. In the first story six Toba women were captured and sent to a concentration camp, but with the help of Kasogonagá they were able to escape. Another legend tells of how Argentinian police were sent to evict a group of indigenous Toba in a school. However when the Police went inside, Kasogonagá created a powerful lightning storm that trapped them indoors, the storm lasted long enough for the group to block the roads around the school trapping the police. With Kasogonagá’s help the Toba were able to escape the police.
Most people tend to divorce mythology from reality, like the events in fiction. But Mythology is intrinsically tied to reality, often times shifting the religious beliefs along with the flow of time. Kasogonagá greatly illustrates this as during the colonization era of Argentina, the Toba’s religious practices were demonized by the government. The violent tensions between the Toba and the Argentinian government led the Toba to greatly resist the government’s usurpation. These times were reflected into Kasogonagá, with her providing support to the discriminated Toba.

We aren’t trying to scare newcomers when we say that the path of a Death Worker is hard & often traumatic. Death in and of itself is hard, and traumatic.
When you work with the dead and the spirit of death they leave a mark on you. In my experience this path doesn’t get easier, you just get more prepared on how to handle it.
These are my tips on how to handle that as beginners:
✦ Boundaries
- decide who you can work with, and what you can handle. (Examples are: not working with children or those who died of violence)
- know your limits, take a step back if you need to
✦ Understand/Work to Understand your triggers
- this also falls under knowing your limits, but also when you understand your triggers/traumas you’ll be better suited to help others
✦ Find Community
- This practice is hard, and looking for community and friends to support you is key. Reach out to other people on this path and make those connections.
✦ Come To Terms
- with familial/close death
- with death-related trauma
✦ Mourn
- let yourself cry
- let yourself mourn those you help
- let yourself miss those you lost
✦ Self-care
- take days to yourself and do things that are fun and relaxing
- you can’t help others until you’ve got your own self in order
You’ve got this. Go easy on yourself and take your time.
Sincerely,
The Psychopomp’s Recital

Something that might've been interesting (though obviously couldn't be implemented, because it's not compatible with all origins) would've been something like the spirit eater curse from Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer (which is another game set in the Realms, and also features Dead Three shenanigans. The base game is kinda meh, but MotB is good.)
Basically you're afflicted with a curse that means you must consume spirits/souls to survive, or else the curse will consume your soul, memories and identity and kill you (before moving on to the next host). There's a sort of health metre, which steadily depletes and inflicts penalties on you until you consume a spirit/soul (or kills you, if you won't).
Indulging the hunger unlocks greater soul-eating powers as the game progresses (one of which allows you to consume part of the soul of a god who fucking deserves it), but it also means that the hunger grows stronger and the metre depletes faster.
Also you're a horrific soul-eating monster that spreads its curse like a disease and everybody is quite understandably not happy having you around... except for the guys who worship the potential power you wield and encourage you to let the thing consume you.
There's also the "good" route where you resist the hunger and which unlocks different powers that help you manage it, and honestly while I enjoy that route, I also find it's not "playing with fire" enough but I digress.
I'm not necessarily picturing it functioning the exact same way, and obviously I'm primarily thinking of the Dark Urge here (give Bhaal the blood he demands and get chopping those limbs or have your mind eaten away and go feral-ending) but something like that might've worked for managing Karlach's engine, or Astarion's vampirism. Or even just something to do with the tadpoles - manage the little bastards, or they eat your brain.

oracle dreams
I breathe storms
the water and wind and warth
calms me
it begins raining
as I consume the elements
drink wine that falls into
the fire of my bloodstream
warms my body and my mind
does your blood still warm
when I cross into your
unwilling mind?
Say the word and I'll leave.
I only stay where I am wanted.
when I bring myself to the well
of my experiences
I know the memories of you glow
I ask for a dream
where we find ourselves
across another ballroom
our eyes meet
mutual defenses crumble in shock
we cannot experience this
without feeling every chemical reaction
that is happening in our biological systems
we would observe every detail in the moment
I would smoothly find a way to hide and collect myself
you wouldn't find me
I would breathe and feel
look into the mirror to observe every visual reaction
with my own eyes and expression
I could calm and collect myself
place a hand over my heart
the belly that is likely knotted
breathe until it relaxes
my gown would sparkle
my hair would be wild and perfect
you're too patient and kind to wait by the door
though I'm guessing your impatience tempted you
I am going to navigate things with my senses
I would know your vibration anywhere within proximity
I am attuned to my senses and emotions
I am making sure to ignore my thoughts
my intellect is compromised by the body
I cannot trust it
but the moment my thoughts take hold
you'll be my shadow
you'll say something
I've never been able to predict
I can never predict you
I wished I hated it more
I will feel a fever that washes over me in heat
I hope I'm not blushing
luckily my wits will keep me
charmingly engaged to reply perfectly
and then the dream ends
I awake in the sweat resulting from
the fever dream you are to my collective
the siren of danger my composure holds
in the memory of you
I look to the window
a honey locust holds the sky
in her thorned embrace
I can't imagine what it would feel like
to meet your eyes again
and I can hold storms of resentment
for years until intentional release
so much distraction
everything is a distraction
life is a distraction
and love is a force
ever to be reckoned with
