Recommendations if you enjoy My Adventures With Superman
Tumblr media
1. Christopher Reeve Superman movies
The showrunners said these movies (especially the first one) heavily inspired MAWS, specifically in regard to Lois and Clark’s chemistry. They are a delight! The first two are pretty good, and the last two are increasingly bad. Christopher Reeve is kind, adorable, and utterly charming as both Clark and Superman. Lois is snarky and iron-willed as always! Their relationship is full of flirting and banter and both being absolutely smitten. Cheesy 1970s but iconic and completely worth it!

2. Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
Another inspiration for MAWS was the John Byrne comic run in the late 80s, which strongly inspired this TV show in the 90s in the way it humanized Clark. It’s not really a superhero show — instead, it’s an office rom-com about Lois and Clark as investigative reporters who inevitably fall for each other. Very cheesy 90s but absolutely wonderful. Sooo much banter. The occasionally lackluster plots/villains don’t matter because the characterization and relationship development are so good.

3. Superman: The Animated Series
This show has it all. Fun villains committed to aesthetics! Supergirl! A Batman crossover! Alternate universes! Clark and Lois being snarky but affectionate co-workers! Superman is built like a refrigerator but is a huge softie! A mix of serious episodes that handle darker topics and light-hearted Saturday morning cartoon style episodes! It’s definitely a different take than MAWS (Lois and Clark are more experienced, Clark is a lot sassier and a bit tougher, the Clark/Lois/Superman love triangle is present), but it’s beloved and iconic for a reason.

The funniest part of Brainiac Attacks is Clark making this big sad dramatic decision of, "I have to go Superman full-time 😔😔 because being Clark and being in close proximity to Lois puts her in danger. 😔😔. It's the only way to keep her safe. 😔😔" And then Lois gets out of the hospital after nearly fucking dying from Kryptonite poisoning and is just immediately like, "A cyborg bank robber shootout downtown?! I'm on it!" and she just fucking takes off and Clark's like "Oh wait yeah that's right she literally always does this whether I'm here or not. I guess I can keep being Clark then."

Poor Lois, Luthor's burn was so good it even had Clark chuckling.
She couldn't catch a break in this episode.

The Better Luthor
I'm having trouble deciding which RWBY villain would make for a better Lex Luthor. Should it be the CEO, Jacques Schnee, or the general, James Ironwood?
---------------------------------------------------
Jacques Schnee
Jacques: (Walks into his office)
Ren: (Spins around in his chair)
Jacques: (Smirks) Lie Ren, isn't it? I believe you have something that belongs to me.
Ren: Have you seen the latest polls? It's really starting to look like you'll be Atlas' next Councilman. Just like in that other world.
Jacques: (Chuckles) Well, I wouldn't bet against me.
Ren: No, that wouldn't be smart. But I want you to understand something, Mr. Schnee. You need to understand that while I despise you as a human being, what I'm about to do isn't personal.
Jacques: What are you babbling about?
Ren: In every universe, there is a constant, a pattern that cannot be broken. A is A. Apples are apples. And no matter what reality he calls home, Jacques Schnee is, was, and always will be Jacques Schnee. (Stands up) If I'm to save all of Remnant, you need to stop existing. Before you take office.
Jacques: You intend to kill me so your leader can't?
Ren: I may be a crackpot conspiracy nut, but I'm confident my team will long outlive me. (Levels Storm Flower against Jacques' head) And the Atlas Knight will stay the hero.
Jacques: Interesting theory. Unfortunately, though, it's not an option. (Punches Ren)
Ren: (Flies across the room, Hits the wall)
Jacques: (Flexes fist, Walks closer to Ren) Councilman? Foolish, insignificant huntsman. My campaign is a farce. A small part of a much grander scheme.
Ren: (Stands up, Swipes with Storm Flower)
Jacques: (Dodges, Knocks guns away, Chokes him) Councilman? (Slaps Ren twice) Do you realize how much power I'd have to give up to become Councilman? (Tosses him)
Ren: (Crashes into Jacques' desk)
Jacques: (Grabs Ren, Lifts him by his collar) That's right "conspiracy nut". I spent over seventy-five million lien on a fake political campaign. All just to piss the Atlas Knight off. (Smashes Ren into the desk)
Ren: (Groans)
Jacques: (Looms over him, Leans down) Now... About those files you stole from me...
---------------------------------------------------
James Ironwood
Ironwood: No one has been more loyal to me than your father, Penny. That's why I made the decision, following his tragic loss, to give you this gift.
Penny: This... This doesn't feel like a gift, Mist- I mean, General Ironwood.
Ironwood: No, but it will save your life. That's why I strongly urge you to do it. Don't worry, though, because I promise you be as good as new.
Penny: But... I'll be metal inside.
Ironwood: Better than metal; Metal Alloy Nobium Tin Lawrencium Engineering, or MANTLE for short. Virtually indestructible.
Penny: Lawrencium... It's radioactive, isn't it?
Ironwood: And it is the source of your power. And The Knight's destruction. You want that, don't you? After what he did to your father?
Penny: (Sniffles) Mhm...
Ironwood: (Chuckles) Perfect.
