just realized that the bandage in nine of wands might look like a sweatband to some people or like the person tying their hair back to properly fight, they seem like a professional, especially if people don't know the cards "backstory"(meaning) and this is exactly what happens in life sometimes, your battlescars and healed(healing) injuries might look like natural know how, good preparation or even a sign of strength to others, some people just don't take a good look at you, other simply don't WANT to see the truth

after all, someone elses privilege and advantage just looks so much better than realizing they fought for every single thing they have and might not even be as perfect as they seem

lemme explain, I used to be a straight A student, full scores, top of the class and at the same time always having my hair makeup and nails done, staying slim and overall having a very organized vibe, making sure I looked put together yk and people HATED me they thought it was unfair and that I just got whatever I want without any effort, that I'm simply lucky but little did they know I stayed up studying every night till 3 am(not exaggerating btw) I was a total academic validation victim, my perfectionism was eating me alive, literally,I studied endless beauty content and with my looks I tried hiding where I come from and all of it worked, better than i realized, causing me to seem falsely humble, an annoying personality trait to many. I was insanely broken and a total mess mentally but people saw me as naturally pretty, disciplined little miss perfect and no matter how hard I tried they wouldn't change their opinion about me...but here's the thing, triggers act like mirros and my "victories" beeing "unfair", the world beeing unfair... simply made their lack of success not their own fault, it's the the world's fault, maybe even mine

in conclusion don't take it personal or feel offended when people can't understand or even refuse to acknowledge your struggle, issues and past. you probably look stronger than you feel and your alleged perfection might validate them in their misery. make sure you give yourself credit and validate yourself, you have to be proud of your battlescars and growth, how strong you are fighting even if others deny it, they might never understand what you have been through so they will never give you credit

Wowee, five days late, but here is my April Fool's Day picture! What's the joke here? Well, that's the joke! There isn't one at all except for one foolish woman's endeavors.

This is a drawing of my Addison lady, Thetalan (aka Theta), loosely based on the Fool Card of a tarot deck.

During the 1990s, Theta was a naive White Addison lady who fell deeply in love with Spamton G. Spamton, the BIG SHOT himself! Years before he burst into stardom, the two had a chance encounter in 1993 when Spamton was still building his wealth. While Theta was working at a sports arena on her first day, Spamton approached her stand to buy beer for him and his friend. However, he noticed her lack of training and, as a small gesture of kindness, showed her how to properly pour a beer from the tap before handing her a generous $20 tip. This encounter embedded into her very SOUL; Theta never forgot him, and her adoration for him grew into unconditional love in the years that followed.

Like the fabled sun in their world without one, she gazed upon his visage in awe and often said, "Someday, I want to be just like him and shine brightly above the city lights!"

Despite her best efforts, he rose higher and higher while she remained nothing more than a regular Addison. However, this did not stop her from believing that someday they would surely talk again!

Thoughts of love swirled in her mind, inspiring her to write him many poems, but she never had the courage to mail them. Then, one day in 1997, Spamton announced the opening of a dedicated PO box to send him fan letters with the possibility of reading his favorite ones on TV. This was her chance to finally get him to acknowledge her love for all to witness!

She rushed to her desk and poured all her devotion onto the paper, confessing every thought and feeling she had since their initial encounter. With a heart-shaped seal, she sent the love letter off, praying that he would find hers, remember that small moment they shared, and let all of CYBER WORLD and the neighboring Dark Worlds know how much he meant to her.

Every episode of the SPAMTON LOVE NETWORK sent her heart pounding. Surely there would come the day he'd find hers in all those piles of fan letters? She never gave up hope and believed he would read hers one day!

However, by 1998, Spamton's sales and net worth declined. The SPAMTON LOVE NETWORK was canceled in 1999 when a mysterious health condition robbed him from going on stage again. Crestfallen, Theta sobbed, knowing she'd never hear her "prince" announce her words of love. She prayed from the core of her SOUL, hoping he read her letter despite everything and kept it close to his heart.

Image descriptions:

1. Lestat's card features him in his Mardi Gras costume, looking on cheerfully as he rides the float through New Orleans. It has been transformed into a chariot to represent the card (the font at the bottom reading "The Chariot" and "@ isabellehemlock") and he is bathed in shadows and light to represent the evening. The border flanked around him is the fleur de lis symbol for his heritage and a cord overlay for the "there is a cord between us" canon nod.

2. Louis' card is him reclining on a chair/throne wearing traditional altar boy garb, poised in front of his church from childhood. He is holding his cane in one hand, and his other is up turned in a to bless pose - but the tips drip with blood. His border includes heavy red drapes that reveal stained glass windows. The font at the bottom reads "The Hierophant" and "@ isabellehemlock".

Religious Symbolism:

1. Red is for both the Passion of Christ, but also for Martyrs - many martyrs end up becoming Saints of the Church, so tie in with the whole St. Louis label

2. In the first episode, Grace mentions that Louis and Paul were altar boys together (at her wedding reception), so I clothed him in the traditional altar boy garb (which is sometimes white and black, but some do red, too) - circling back to point number one ;)

3. The Hierophant page says (in part) this about the card composition:

"The Hierophant is a religious figure sitting between two pillars of a sacred temple – though this temple differs from the one in which the High Priestess sits. [ ... ] In his left hand, he holds the Papal Cross, a triple sceptre that signifies his religious status. He raises his right hand in a religious blessing, with two fingers pointing towards Heaven and two towards Earth."

- so I used Louis' church as the backdrop for the Sacred Temple. The place where his faith says he receives a taste of Heaven at every mass <3. The hand position is still used today offer blessings - a benediction - and though it looks like two fingers pointing up, it actually is supposed to include the thumb as well to represent the Holy Trinity. But also, priests receive a special blessing at their ordination over those two fingers that hold the Eucharist - so yeah lots of symbolism when it comes to that hand position BUT ALSOPLUSALSO the blood . . .

4. The blood as the life force, but also the Blood of Christ - the Sacrament he was raised to believe is given at every mass. And yet it is the Apostle St. Thomas - doubting Thomas who is also told to stick his fingers in Christ's wounds - bloody fingers for the doubting disciple.

5. Even though the card description mentions the Papal Cross - I replaced it with Louis' cane to equally represent his own personal "stick of power" if you will

6. I didn't go with a religious crown, and instead focused on bathing him with a crown of light to represent the light of faith - but it's draped around him, encompassing and connecting him to the building that surrounds him - but he is immune to it personally - a little nod to the conflicting feelings around the traditions of his faith (while still not being totally segregated from it).
