he just stopped at the doorway, where you couldn’t really see him and leaned against the door frame, softly smiling at your relaxed figure

“she looks so peaceful…how did I get so lucky?” this was the moment he felt like he hit the lottery

however when you did notice him, you nearly jumped out yo skin

after that he just always seem to find you at this time or somehow put you in sun’s rays just so he could admire you

bonus: he took polaroid pictures of you sleeping at golden hour and carries them with him. class 1-A found out about it and teased him about for weeks (which lead to brutally training for weeks on end, them stubborn ass kids would nawt let it go.)

like everyone he knows knows everything about your skating and has seen endless pictures and videos that he takes when he comes to watch you

embarrassing but he’s so proud of you, like he stans you so hard it’s kinda funny

always brings a huge bunch of roses for you when you’re competing so he can present them to you dramatically if you win or make you feel better if you don’t

and ofc he insists on getting you the best skates money can buy and paying your coaching fees so you can get the best person going

he also tries to learn more about it, watching loads of youtube videos and listening in on your talks with your coach so he can understand your passion better and offer advice on your form and stuff during your casual practices

if you’re into skating as a fan too he gets you tickets to watch big skating tournaments / lots of signed memorabilia etc

basically he’ll do anything to support and show interest in your hobby, well almost anything

he refuses to actually skate with you bc he knows how bad you’ll show him up and he’s not about it lol

makes jokes about not wanting to steal your thunder bc obviously he’d be sooo good and that’s why he won’t skate with you

he might secretly get some lessons if you’ve been together a while though, so he can surprise you one day...

can’t understand how elegant you look on the ice, you make it look effortless

like he’s a texas boy so i reckon he’s probably never ice-skated in his life, except the one time you dragged him onto the rink with you

he lasted less than three minutes before calling it and has flat out refused to ever go on again

he DOES love taking you to the skate park tho, and you get into inline skating (bc they’re kinda similar at the end of the day) so you can skate together “on solid ground” as sap puts it

also he can’t get over what you wear for competitions

like he feels kinda conflicted tbh bc obviously you look sexy asl in those skin tight outfits but they’re also just a tiny bit goofy

they remind him just slightly too much of pro-wrestling ??? idk

he’s amazed by you though and his lockscreen is a selfie he took during a competition with him going crazy in the foreground and you doing some insane spin jump in the background

the photo’s kinda blurry and you didn’t actually land that jump but he does not care

you two have a tradition of getting drive through take out on the way back from competitions or difficult practices bc it helps you decompress, and you shit talk your competitors together in the privacy of his car

he also heckles the judges that give you bad scores like he’s at a football game and you’ve had to tell him to stop so he doesn’t get banned

he just genuinely really enjoys watching you skate

he’ll sit on his own in the stands for hours just watching you practice, or even just scrolling on his phone, but he likes to be there with you anyway

sometimes he’ll facetime karl or somone and show them what you’re doing and he always gets so smiley

he has a lot of fun coming to watch you compete too and he makes a whole thing of it like he’s going to watch a big sports league final or the olympics or something and you’re his favourite team

like holding his breath when you do difficult jumps and spins he knows you struggle with and jumping up and cheering when you land them

of all of them he’s definitely done the most skating, with you and just in general

he’s still not very good but he can mostly stay on his feet and just laughs when he falls over bc fun > ego every time with georgie

loves just holding your hand while he stumbles around the rink with you or holding your hand over your head while you do a lil spin

he thinks you always look the most beautiful while skating: all giddy and smiley from doing your favourite thing and cheeks flushed from the cold and the exercise

another one who goes way overboard with the cheering just to be a dork and embarrass you

but also bc he is so genuinely proud of you and how hard you work to be good

he can’t make a lot of your competitions or any practice really bc he’s so busy with his work, but when he can be there he makes up for it with a bunch of flowers and gifts, and so much praise and cuddling

celebrates your wins and feels your losses so sincerely bc your success is his success and your sadness is his sadness

he undoes your laces and takes off your skates for you every time he’s there to do it

and after the stream where he drew on those sneakers you asked him to decorate your practice skates with whatever he liked so he could always be there with you in a way

he got so in his head about doing something incredible and you had to tell him you just wanted cute lil doodles and they’d be perfect bc he drew them

they came out like a graffitied primary school desk but with loads of different colours and little hearts and stick figures of the two of you smooching plus some affirmations about how amazing you are

he was so nervous to show you but you ADORE them and would wear them for competitions if you could

2023 WRITING REVIEW

I really don't write much but it's the second time @eeverlark tags me in a writing meme (I think) soooo alright lys I'll do it. for you 🫶🏻

1. number of stories posted to ao3: 4, and yes I'm counting the fic I updated in early January because 7 out of 8 chapters were written in 2023

2. number of words posted last year: 49k

3. fandoms i wrote for: only Merlin I'm monogamous 💛

4. pairings: Merwenthur; Merwaine; background Arwen in an Arthur & Merlin fic if that counts

5. stories with the most:

KUDOS || BOOKMARKS: Call It Anything We Want (281 | 48)

COMMENT THREADS: my merwenthur vignettes have 31 threads (excluding the chapter posted in January 2024). makes sense given every chapter is basically a self-contained ficlet

6. work i'm most proud of (and why): every fic I write is simultaneously the best and the worst I've ever written and it remains so until I post a new one.

Honestly though every fic(let) has some things I like and some I think I could've done better.

Having said that, Call It Anything We Want is the first fic I posted on ao3 after a long writing hiatus so. I'm proud of that and of the amount of time I've put into this story as a whole.

7. work i'm least proud of (and why): hmmm see previous answer.

there's a ficlet called The Hunting Trip that I think I could have done better – mainly the conversation Arthur and Merlin have about Uther – but I just wanted to get it done tbh. I do like how it starts though. And Cavall the dog :)

8. share or describe a favorite review you received: I absolutely love any time someone says they liked my characterisation. for example:

your characterization is insane i am so obsessed. its so so good. like. idk how to describe it you just write relationships meshing so well together and not in like. an unrealistically flawless way but in a warm and familiar way. im in awe.

I love this story, your writing, this relationship, this dynamic, your details, your characterization, your everything and I’ve been meaning to tell you for a very long time. I’m sorry for not expressing this earlier. Your continuation of the original story was incredibly, believably, wondrously fantastic.

10. a scene or character you wrote that surprised you: I wrote a ficlet that was supposed to be magically genderbent!Merlin x Arthur smut but it ended up being fem!Merlin x Gwen instead because Arthur wasn't cooperating

12. how did you grow as a writer last year: well I actually wrote something which is a good starting point

14. who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer, beta, cheerleader, etc.): I think all the lovely people that left me some feedback made me push myself a tiny bit harder to keep writing and posting. a special shout-out to @castelled-away for writing whole essays about my merwenthur ficlets, I've loved every single comment 💛

15. anything from your real life show up in your writing last year: nothing apart from my desire to kiss Colin Morgan on the mouth

16. any new wisdom you can share with other writers: sometimes done is better than perfect. just get it done and move on it's fine if it's not a masterpiece. at least that's what I often have to tell myself but also I suspect I have adhd

17. any projects you're looking to starting (or finishing) this year: I would like to finish my Sefa-centric WIP, I wrote like 8k words but I'm not sure where it's going

Kero/tomoyo/yue/nakuru/spinnel basically everyone magically involved is pushed back basically useless until the final act (i think i mentioned the character pushback before)

Akiho still has too many similarities to sakura it still pisses me off. Why cant they make her her own character

I completely believe the monologue was full of lies and it being based on Will’s feelings is definitely gonna come up in season 5 but I still can’t help but have a bit of doubt when I remember the Duffers saying they were proud of it and it was Finn’s best performance. Like if they’re going to have mitochondria break up next season why even have a love confession in the first place? I’m literally so confident in byler but this is the one thing that keeps me from completely believing it’ll happen to be honest 😕

ok anon im here to assure you that you really dont have to worry too much about it!! i had this kind of doubt before but tbh ive already moved past it bc i believe the monologue wasnt “unnecessary” by any means, the reason people say that if byler was meant to happen they wouldnt have had inserted the love confession is because they’re viewing it purely through a byler lens and not consider what it means for el’s arc specifically...one thing im certain about in the monologue is that whether or not mike was trying to be genuine or was lying the whole time, el didn’t receive his words positively. she didnt believe a single word he said even if it wouldve been a sincere attempt from him. while he was delivering the monologue she didnt actually feel the love she was supposed to feel from the words that went out of his mouth because if she did, it wouldve been shown to us visually. they wouldve shown us el recalling memories from all the times mike supposedly loved her, but instead we get her gradually being choked harder and looking even more in despair? we know that they had the opportunity to make use of more memories because they did use one memory from when el and mike first met, but it’s the only one that managed to surface on el’s mind because to her, it was the only truthful thing she felt from mike’s words. the monologue was necessary because it helped her realize that even after that verbal affirmation of ily coming from mike, she still didnt feel that he loved her. it helped her realize that his words alone are shallow and empty if he didnt actually show it to her. as someone said, it was a situation where el needed to hear the words ily from mike’s mouth in order for her to realize that she didn’t actually need it this whole time. it was necessary for her arc before she could finally decide to let go of him, as it was the final nail in the coffin that revealed he truly didnt love her *romantically* and just further proved that she didn’t need him anymore since his love confession didn’t actually work and wasn’t what managed to make her free herself from vecna’s grasp.

as for the duffers saying it was finn’s best performance...i think its because it does capture a lot of emotions at once (mike desperate to save el and saying what he thinks she wants to hear from him and the anxiety from having to see if it will work, and the urgency of the situation) and its not just supposed to be taken at face value thats why i believe theyre “proud” of it, though i dont agree with them that it was finn’s best performance but thats how i see it 🤷‍♀️ and ofc at the end of the day it was all prompted by will’s words and feelings (and they actively chose to write it that way) which will eventually lead to everything thats currently holding mlvn’s relationship to fall apart.

just remember that if they intended it to be mlvn’s big moment and something only about the love between the two of them, they wouldn’t have had constantly panned it to will and jonathan’s reactions or even show will in the background because it removes the intimacy in a moment thats supposed to be just about the two of them. the fact that they were even showing us will’s pained face just means that they wanted us to sympathize with him even up to that very moment!!

i’ve been wanting to do a design change for a while for a lot of the characters, mostly because the other designs were made years ago, but i didn’t have any other designs in mind to use. the designs i’m voting on here are for an animatic my sister is working on that i made the designs for, and decided i really liked

ignore the labels for these btw, again, they’re for an animatic, also for holly ignore the “i’m actually not part of the prophecy” design aspect because in this au, she is!!

since these designs are a LOT more complex than just different shaped fur (i,,, did not like having that be the only difference between characters, it felt lazy, but as mentioned before they were the only designs i had/could make up in enough time) the ask responses will take quite a bit longer. also, because i’m returning to full color as well as the addition of actually drawn backgrounds!!!!! (maybe shading tbh. i’m debating adding cell shading) it’s a big change for this blog. a lot of the other designs will be changed in similar manners, but these are the only relevant characters who i’ll be adding this for. a lot of my art style has changed as well and i’ve been hating drawing in the art style for the ask blog lol. i’m working on different shaped eyes (not rlly shown in these tho), different eyebrows, adding whiskers, different designs for ears, varying body types, etc. (ALSO ALSO the floppy ears are from firestar’s sister, princess, that squilf and lion both inherited)

and another thing sorry for adding so announcements here but asks are closed in relation to the longest night gathering!! you can ask questions in preparation for the next day, but before that, there is a thing i’m working on that i think you’ll all take interest in :)

i'm a little awkward guy LMFAO, i'm usually in the background a lot 💔💔 i get nervous when all the attention is on me irl (online i love it icl) and i'm really oblivious (i thought all my trauma was normal).. i've got mommy AND daddy issues but i've got an okay relationship with both of them?? i listen to a plethora of genres LMAO, atm my favourites are metal an classical music (i heart kpop though, esp skz). i've watched all of those silly sigma male movies like american psycho and fight club, i loved both of them!! i like shows like the walking dead, the last of us , game of thrones, and house of the dragon as well. i've got about 108 books, and my american psycho era went so bad i even bought the book LMAO. i'm currently getting into classic books as well!! currently reading crime and punishment by fyodor dostoevsky. ALSO, one of my favourite things i wear daily are my glasses cos they've got square rims!! i watch anime, my favourites atm is attack on titan and devilman crybaby. i think i'm a faily monotone person? i don't think i can express excitement very well even if i wanted to 😭😭 i have horrible memory, i lose my phone easily but i find it pretty easily. i'm desentizised to a lot of things on the internet, say a lot of out of pocket stuff, and i've considered therapy a lot these past few weeks. i leave people on delivered (i respond to close friends dw), the longest so far is a year. at the moment my favourite movies are lord of the rings + the hobbit (all movies), american psycho, fight club, MIDSOMMAR!!!, batman 2022 and joker 2019. i bawl my eyes out when im angry, i'm a picky eater, i've got 0 game and the humour of a 13 year old boy, i am obsessed with hannibal (i havent even watched the show), ozzy osbourne, mads mikkelsen, pedro pascal, and tlou. This might seem really bitchy but favourite moments when im hanging out w friends is when we talk absolute shit LMFAO it's always so entertaining. and i genuinely have no idea! i am not swedish so i don’t think i have a great grasp on how the gala works and usually goes!

after this year, i wanna be like yeah they’ve got this and really optimistic but bc i don’t know how it works i cant really be sure. i don’t know if they were up against hs last time? and last time they were both up individually in the same category as well and neither won.

i definitely can see them winning best duo again and they should because no one is doing it like them. i really really hope they win best tv program again as well (that’s what they won last time too, right?) oops idk for sure iM NOT SWEDISH but listen i do love heartstopper but even with the things i disliked about YR S2 it’s still on another level and an incredible queer drama so they deserve it.

as for individual nominations, i’m begging, begging for omar to win. i LOVE them both, and people weren’t surprised this year when they lost bc of whoever else was nominated (?) so idk if it’s the same this time around but i need omar to win for the incredible work he’s done as simon. of course i would also be ecstatic if edvin won, he’s truly a phenomenal actor & his portrayal of wille is absolutely amazing. but edvin is always going to be praised more than omar, omar is always going to be pushed to the background consciously or unconsciously and i really really want him to be awarded and celebrated for how he brought simon to life bc he literally makes my jaw drop and my heart stop. his first acting job. he is a STAR. i’ve never loved a character like i love simon (and i also love wille) and was so excited by his story and how they portray being gay and queerness in YR and i’m just so proud of omar i need him to really be recognized and given the praise he deserves for his portrayal, for what it means to the fans and what he & simon mean to the LGBTQ+ community. (is it gonna actually happen tho,,,,i think we’re on the same wavelength there) (but like i said i’d still be very happy if edvin won they are BOTH deserving and it’s normal that they’re in the same category. i promise they’re both probably very happy about it and proud of each other and will be supporting each other no matter which of them wins if they do).

bsd: bsd as a whole should be appreciated tbh JAHHAFBGHAF but honestly i'd have to say like ... just the little background faces? the ones in the manga are cute but the ones that are in the anime are just fucking hilarious to me . dazai looks like a cat in half of them . they make every character look like a different genre of Cat with the background faces and i fucking love that so much because its just so adorable and i love when fiction does stuff like make silly scenes with a different art style than the normal one because it just keeps my attention There!!

Emulators have come to the rescue once again XD I find myself using them when I can't play the games I really want, like if I don't have enough space on my phone or don't have the console to play.

I had that same problem when I started, although it was a bit into the prologue, where it wouldn't open anymore </3 I had to create a new account, but it wasn't much of a loss since I just started. I found out it was due to downloading in the background! I was able to get past it on my new account by sitting through the downloading screens, I'm not sure if they ever fixed it though fjdbdk on my first account I chose Malleus too LMAO(I like Maleficant a lot so that played into my choosing but- he's just so,,, so pretty,, it's not fair skskbfsk) on my current one I chose Azul from Octavinelle, HE'S ALSO SO PRETTY??? Tbh all of them are fkdbsjsoq despite choosing Mal and Azul, my favorite is Rook,,

(Also, how dare the game not allow you to experience the wonderful chaotic shenanigans of Twisted Wonderland!? Now that is something I just won't have 😡)

I've been doing well! 🏮 Homeboy is DEDICATED so he puts in the time and ofc he still wants one after the fact

🏮 After a good amount of time, he comes back with a books worth of reasons as to why you guys should get one and you’re honestly shocked

🏮 You just can’t say no to those eyes </33 so you oblige and go out and get one from an owner who’s surrendering it (Because we don’t support chain pet stores in this household)

🏮 You guys can’t pick a name for them so for the longest time they’re just called ‘the lizard’ or ‘little fella’ or whatever else you guys come up with

🏮 Anyways- he’s infatuated with them it’s so funny. He spends all of his freetime watching them get used to their new habitat like,,,, all of it. It’s 1am and he’s just watching it hang out and you’re like ‘Kiri if you love it so much then why don’t you sleep with it’ (not in that way ya nasty)
