My Top 10 memorable 2022 MileApo moments 💚💛

In no particular order,

Mile defending Apo and telling him he's not weird. Mile Phakphum #1 apocolleague #1 Apo defender #1 Apo protector 😖

2. Whatever they put in the water that day at the XBlush shoot 🥴

3. The Moon Represents My Heart at KPWT Taipei (curse you one video per post Tumblr limit). The audible gasp and excitement from the audience when they realized what song it was!!!

4. MileApo at the Vogue Thailand Gala. Everything about them and how beautiful they were... Mile had just gotten out of COVID isolation #2 and now they had a Vogue spread and were mingling with the movers and shakers of the Thai ent industry. Also specifically these boyfriend soft launch selfies 😖

5. Paper Mile at the KPWT send off. This one was bittersweet and making the best of a bad situation... Apo was doing his best to have Mile be included but even Apo was not his usual sparkly self. The appearance of paper Mile per the request of quarantined Mile really put the smile back on his face.

6. Sharing dessert and water in the Red Sea Film Festival IGL

7. Apo taking this sexy photo of Mile in Phuket and immediately being exposed as the photographer. Thank you @ apovision for God's work and thank you @/may for exposing them.

8. Mile replying to this tweet. Yeah it's a tweet. Yeah he interacts with many fan tweets. But trust me, this is the one that made all of us deranged. It's the reason why I'm deranged now. I think about this all the time.

9. Mile and Apo kissing live at KPWT Bangkok. I'm just going to make peace with the fact that we're likely never gonna see another live kiss at a KPWT show again. But we got this one.

10. Holding up the pride flag together at KPWT Taipei. Wasn't Taipei beautiful!?! 😭 It was a beautiful moment for the entire cast and the audience, since it was Pride Week in Taipei 🌈

Bonus: 11. Meeting all of you 🥰💕 Yeah I'm sappy as heck, what are you gonna do about it.

Alright everybody, buckle your fucking seatbelts.

First thing's first, I think that this show was suffering from major story-related issues that started as far back as mid-season 2. My problems start officially with Elsewhere and Elsewhen, because this is where I feel the show dropped the ball on one of the most important elements of any piece of media: its villain.

I firmly believe that a story is only as good as its villain, and up until this point, The Owl House had been doing an amazing job with Belos. The audience was kept in the dark about the true nature of his backstory, but, crucially, with enough material and hints provided to extrapolate the nature of it before it was revealed.

And many, many people came to the same conclusions. Luz, our lovable protagonist since day one, has had to come to her own grips with her weirdo-hood, the fact that she's not a Chosen One, that this world doesn't operate by the laws of her fantasy books. What better way for our villain to be than to have him directly foil this? Prior to Elsewhere and Elsewhen, this was the main thought about Philip Wittebane. Someone just like Luz, ostracized from his community in a much more visceral and potentially violent way, who also found sanctuary and some kind of acceptance on the Boiling Isles, before something causes him to become the Emperor we know today.

Elsewhere and Elsewhen and Hollow Mind essentially took this idea and spat in its face. The villain they gave us had absolutely zero depth, and was outright stated in the finale to be just that: only evil and deluded.

Even with the look into Philip and Caleb's life provided in Thanks to Them, the finale still took this and did what? Absolutely nothing with it. I just have no idea why they would put that much effort into giving Philip a backstory that's as potentially sympathetic as what we see, only to write him off as evil and only evil.

I've seen other people lauding this choice, because "good for them for showing us that not everybody has to be redeemed!" I am not saying that Belos could have or should have been redeemed, in fact, I had been rooting for him to die since the early seasons, a good death befitting of a good villain. Actually examining his backstory and fleshing him out as a character does not mean he would have been redeemed! If the Owl House's moral is that "people are complex", this would have aided in the delivery of that message!

Instead, what we got was three specials full of nothing but hot air, a gigantic amount of screentime devoted to a character that always felt like a shoehorn-in at best with the Collector, and the most disappointing, anticlimactic villain defeat I've ever seen in my life. And yes, I know there are people who loved it and think that this series can do no wrong. I acknowledge that this show is incredibly important culturally and that it was unfortunately limited by its cancellation. But this does not protect it from any and all criticism, especially when said criticism has to do with the integrity of the plot and the overall message of the show.

#tldr: why the fuck did they give belos such an involved backstory if they were going to handwave it away #why did they give the collector so much screentime when he really didn't do shit #why did they have the perfect opportunity to foil their villain with their protagonist and just NOT #AND WHY DID THE FINALE UNDERMINE EVERYTHING THEY'D BEEN BUILDING UP OVER THE SEASONS #feel free to talk to me about this. like I said #bottomless well of salt #asks #the owl house #toh #the owl house critical #toh critical

firstly, always like in the first ep or couple eps we get a heavy sonadow episode!! this is that my guys!! and it's perfect in general bc it's a good balance of sonadow interactions, action, WORKING TOGETHER GOD I COULD DIEEEE, nine and his plans (i love seeing tails be the bad guy it's so fucking kickass dude yes), and VERY. LITTLE. EGG FAMILY CONTENT. THANK FUCk

so. if the rest of the season is anything like this, including some more good sonic having fits/breakdowns about the betrayal/loss of his friends, i think it'll be a fucking dope season. i hate how little they can show sonic crying, but they never said he couldnt have a panic attack and be comforted....>:) would love some shadow tears too

i love this episode being an episode of sonadow working together, but it showing shadow having to support sonic again and now be his rock throughout. not just pushing him out of the way, talking him down and also bolstering him, but showing them visually during combat being in sync (shadow mostly leading) and them escaping with shadow pushing sonic ahead, launching him closer to the rift with his own body and coming to his rescue throughout combat....THEN SAVING HIM BY SHOOTING HIM INTO SPACE SO NINE CANT FUCKING SUCK HIM DRY OF HIS PRISM ENERGY???

Hey Gamers! Today I’m surviving off of 3 hours of sleep, spite, and blasting “It’s My Party” on repeat so I thought I’d give you even more of our boys as bus drivers while I’m still at work! If you haven’t seen the first part [ click here ]

Diavolo

He goes slightly above the speed limit at all times

Does not care for rude people and has kicked several off the bus before

If he’s a school bus driver he brings snacks for major holidays

Has told corporate to “fuck off”

The people like him and he’s been working there too long to get fired easily

He’s a supervisor

Will tell you to stop cursing and stop standing.

Plays the “cool” radio stations to be hip with the kids

8/10 I would want him as my substitute bus driver

Barbatos

LMAO THIS MAN WOULD NEVER DRIVE A BUS

He’s a bus monitor

The kids respect him because he doesn’t nag them

He has yelled only once. To stop a brawl.

The kids started crying.

He apologized and told them he didn’t want them to “get written up”

They thought he was chill after that

He sometimes just comes in dressed up fancy as hell

Several people in the yard have a crush on him

He always says he is taken

No one can figure out who he’s “taken” by. It’s the gossip of the bus lot

Somehow is never late?? Even to last minute bus changes

9/10 because there’s no way parents and drivers both don’t fight over him being on their bus

Now on to the Celestials

Simeon

He says good morning to you every morning.

He warns you when he’s gonna run in to traffic

If you don’t have enough money and you’re his regular, he will cover for you.

He will work as a school bus driver on the side just to ensure the kids are safe.

That being said, there is absolutely NO CURSING on his bus.

There is no tomfoolery either! You either behave or get off.

The only exception is if you’re 5 or have any sort of stims or tics that you quite literally can’t stop

He has yelled at passengers for being mean to other passengers before

If a kid is sad he tells them he thinks that they are a ✨star✨

Is pleasant to almost everyone on the lot

He and Barbatos have a rivalry to be the most liked person in the bus yard

9/10 he’s just a generally nice fellow who doesn’t like bullies on his bus

Michael

He has beef with every other driver

He steals routes

His timing is always the same

But he will drive away as you’re running to the stop

Lucifer was trained by him

He then proceeded to get Lucifer’s promotion to supervisor taken away once he deemed Lucifer too good

Wants to be in corporate

Does not drive anything over or below the speed limit.

Does not play the radio

Writes people up

Parents love him, children hate him 😤

5/10 simply because he doesn’t technically break the law

Raphael

Oh boy here we go

I do not think this man should have a license

Admittedly I know nothing about him

The only thing he drives is a dirt bike

He is banned from driving on all highways

If he has a chaperone he can maybe, maybe, drive on the road

He ran Michael off the road 2 times

This is why he can’t drive

Unrelated but he looks like he’d call Michael “Mikey”

He does not drive

He got demoted from a driver to a monitor

Why you ask? He tried to use the bus in a street race after hours

Asmo had to step in and say that Solomon told him “he had no idea he was driving in a street race. He just wanted to get the bus away from the crazy drivers”

No one believed him

But Asmo has pretty privilege and a generally good record so Michael let it go

:[ he would have won if he didn’t forget that buses do not go well with speed bumps

He tells the kids he’s a magician and does minor illusion tricks to keep them distracted if there is traffic

Likes to mess with the other monitors

We are here to celebrate a 3 year anniversary of being here. Let us make the very best out of it! Though the anniversary date itself is on August 6th, we welcome you to send in your thoughts and requests as late as August 10th.

Weekly Komi Report - 12th of July 2023

Ahoy hoy! In addition to my usual new chapter reactions, I have some news to report. There's been goings on and I've done some... investigating (very minor)!!!!! If you're bored by this info (fair cop) skip to the green text below for the usual chapter reactions!

So long story short - about 2 months ago, Viz Media started simulpublishing new chapters of KCC on their official website (only in the U.S. and Canada U_U, and partially behind a paywall 😤) which led to Church of Potetto - the scanlation group working on Komi at the time - to drop the series and encourage readers to support the official release. No more scanlations of Komi...

Until! Yesterday, a person or persons from the group Mylene Scans uploaded a scanlation of this weeks chapter to Mangadex ahead, not only of it's release by Viz, but of it's release in Japan! A snipe!! An act that is very much against the site's rules. The scanlation was taken down by site admins until it could safely be restored.

So here's the little bit of investigating I did: I have entered and perused the Mylene Scans discord. It seems that they were initially unaware of the reasons the series was dropped by CoP. They're also small fries. In my personal opinion they seem somewhat irregular and disreputable. I have inquired as to whether they intend to continue the series. The Viz release is blocked behind both a region lock and a paywall, so scanlators picking up the series again would make it more accessible to readers. I'll update you if they respond to me.

Now, with that out of the way...

Chapter 411 - Summer Festival for Two!

So right away that first image is a callback to Komi and Tadano's first summer festival together. Back then they were alone together at the festival by circumstance. This time they're alone together by intention... ooh là là

The climax of the chapter is that big beautiful shot of them sharing a moment of laughter and joy in the rain, then their first (proper) kiss happens in a quiet and intimate moment. Being so far away from them is like giving them some privacy. It's beautiful. I am healed and restored 💞💞💞💞💞

It's a week + a day later (and also New Year's Day) but I still wanted to share my thoughts on episode 25...

The last episode of cour 2 /season 1 of Spy X Family...!! 😊

AND IT WAS GREAT!😁

Episode 25 covered Missions 37 and 38 of the manga, and like I said last time, this was the perfect spot to end the season with (at least to me it was...!!) 😆

There were a lot of things I enjoyed in this episode, but one of my favorite things in it was THIS:

The way they animated Anya running behind those pillars to sneak up on Damian and his friends was just HILARIOUS TO ME...!!! 🤣

Now, let's talk about some changes that I noticed, shall we...? 😁

The first change I noticed was what Damian said here:

In the manga he says: "Leave me alone!", while in the anime he says: "Shut up!"... I think I prefer "leave me alone" more, but "shut up" works in this scene too, so no complaints here...!

These next few things aren't exactly changes from manga to anime, but more like tonal changes to some capacity...

The first one I noticed was Anya's speech to Damian about her papa (Loid):

In the manga, it feels a bit more serious and comes from the heart...!! While in the anime, with the music that was playing in the background, it came off as more silly than anything else... I mean, I know that at the end in both versions Anya forgets what she was talking about at the end of her speech in both versions, making it silly at the end, but... I think I prefer the tone and vibe in the manga version over the anime...! (Sorry about being nitpicky again...! 😅)

Another tone / vibe that I felt was a little different in both versions were these few scenes with Donovan, like this one:

In the manga, Donovan says "Nah, it's fine" and gives off more of a chill vibe... While in the anime, Donovan says "No, it's okay" and gives off chill but formal vibe...! I find it very interesting how just a change of words (and even a change of mediums) can make a scene feel different...! 😄

The scene next scene that I wanna bring up is the one with Donovan sighing:

In manga, the way Donovan looks when he sighs comes of as a bit more odd, strange, and even a little wacky; while in the anime, Donovan's sigh comes off as bit more unnerving... Both versions show him as being a bit annoyed, but I personally think that anime does it better (Even though the manga version me made me think: "What the hell is wrong this guy...? 😰" when I first read it...! )

And the last scene...:

Both pretty much give off the same vibe... I just think that Donovan looks and feels a lot more threatening in the manga than in the anime...! 👌😌

And that was episode 25 of the anime, it was a great episode all-around...!! 😊 I'm sad that we won't have any new episodes for a while, but I'm glad that I could share my thoughts with all of you (even if it's a little late...! 😅)

There was a few other things that I noticed between the anime and the manga, like how Damian looked more devastated after his father's speech people never understanding \ being sympathetic with each other in the manga than in the anime... Or even the fact that anime confirmed (to me) that Donovan's scars are only on the sides of his and not just one big scar around his head (because I've been trying to write a theory about his scars and how I believe he could've been lobotomized to be the way he is now, but I never got around to writing and was also questioning whether or not his scar went around his head...! 🤔) But of course, Tumblr only has a 10 image limit, so... 😌

Anyway, this has probably become my most word-est review yet, so I'll keep it brief...! 😅 Anime onlys, it's been a fun sharing my thoughts with y'all and hope to see you all again when season 2 comes out...!! 😊 Manga readers, we still got a ways to go before the next chapter drops, so stay strong my friends...!! 💪😤 And to everyone else, including the anime and manga fans, Happy New Year and I hope and wish that this year will be better than the last...!!! 💗💗💗 Take care everyone...!! ✌😊

Today's compilation:

Roc-A-Fella Presents...This Thing of Ours 1998 Hip Hop / Hardcore Hip Hop / Gangsta Rap

Whoo boy, do I have some straight-up vintage late 90s ephemeral New York rap FIRE for you all today. Here's Roc-A-Fella Presents...This Thing of Ours, a short promo sampler EP from the label that Jay-Z helped co-found and grow, and that you could only find as a bonus disc in limited edition copies of Jay's own instant classic third album, 1998's Vol. 2...Hard Knock Life. This here is the type of shit that used to lace the 🔥hottest🔥 of mixtapes back in the day; stuff you might find on either a DJ Clue? or Funkmaster Flex CD; gratuitously non-commercial gritty street raps laid over monster beats that had been strictly made to induce the hardest of constant head-nods. Basically a hip hop head's paradise 😤.

But before we get into this little CD itself, I need to provide some background for one of its best tracks. And in order to do that, we need to go all the way back to 1993, because that's the year that a New York rap group called Original Flavor dropped their most well-known single, "Can I Get Open," which featured none other than a young and unsigned Jay-Z on it. And within that group was a guy by the name of Tone Hooker too.

Now, Original Flavor ended up parting ways following the release of their second album in 1994, but a few years later, Tone Hooker would resurface with the only solo release of his career, a 12-inch on Profile Records called "Crew Love," which would feature both NY underground great O.C. on it, as well as Jay-Z, with Jay supplying its chorus. And I don't know who ended up producing that track, but its beat was a bit sparse and darkly crystalline.

However, the following year, another song with Jay-Z on it called "Cru Love" would come out too. And Jay would also rap the *same exact* lyrics on its choruses also! But instead of Tone Hooker and O.C. providing the verses, this one would feature Roc-A-Fella labelmates Memphis Bleek and Beanie Sigel both rapping about drugs, guns, money, and the rap game, with Beanie's verse containing a bars-long extended metaphor that very cleverly equated a drug enterprise with Monopoly. And what's more is that this song's extraordinarily knocking, big-string beat that sounded like a boxer's walk-in music, and was provided by a little-known guy named Derrick Trotman, had clearly drawn inspiration from the far more understated production of the other version of "Crew Love" too 😯.

Then there's another banger on here that comes courtesy of a pretty unknown group who were briefly on Roc-A-Fella and Tommy Boy called Diamonds In Da Ruff. These guys never put out an actual album, but they had a couple 12-inches. And their song, "Respect," which came with a terrific blues-piano-and-guitar driven beat, first appeared on this very CD, before also being included on a DIDR album sampler cassette in '99. But, like I said, even though an album sampler was able to materialize, no actual album for them came afterwards 😕.

So, some really fantastic rap goodies on this little Roc-A-Fella EP here. It's not a very uncommon practice for a label to throw in a bonus sampler along with an album, but for that sampler to be as quality as this one is, is definitely a treat. Some real hardcore New York magic on this thing that ends up making for a wonderful late 90s time capsule 🤩.

I should be more humble. Like yesterday fighting about the showing me he controlled traffic with our thoughts 💭. So he punished me a lot yesterday and today for fighting back. I once typed a letter to give to my cousin to give advice but I wanted mom to proofread but I think 💭 she didn’t get around to it and I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ why. I missed out on some opportunities to be helpful and I guess once those moments passed there was no making up 🆙 for it even though we still saw her, she was (acid brain 🧠 pain 8:40 pmpdt) still spending nights at our apartment. My aunt was a pharmacist 👩‍⚕️ and she liked cooking 🧑‍🍳 a lot. Her clients usually loved 🥰 her cooking 🧑‍🍳 and one of them to cut costs offered to marry her! Her ex husband was very big and tall. So the 2 combined should have been able to figure out how to resolve the diarrhea. I m not sure 🤔 if I was still confused 🤷🏻‍♀️ or not at that time. I worried a lot. And that got in the way of my decisions. If I wasn’t afraid 😱 to get a job again if I wasn’t concerned (acid left ear 👂 pain 8:47 pmpdt) I guess I was greedy? 😞usually I had eczema chronically. It made it difficult to work Bcz I had it on my hands 🙌 a co worker even said something about it. 8:50 pmpdt but I tried. Stuff online made me afraid 😱 of medicine and how when it healed it didn’t look 👀 pretty. Since I was 8 years old that’s the way it was almost every day. It was torture. Kind of (?) a Theory on Rook and the Hunt Family

Using the short tidbits of Rook lore we got in Endless Halloween Night and the recent chapter 6 updates, I scraped together this mess of a crack theory to share with y’all 😂 dbksbdjswj Don’t take this too seriously, I’m just rambling and throwing around ideas as per usual this is just an excuse for me to word dump about Rook—

***TONS of spoilers ahead!!***

Firstly, I will first state relevant points that we canonically know about Rook. From that, I will theorize on what these details could mean in the grander scheme of things when they are all put together.

Rook is very secretive—both about himself, as well as his family. You’ll notice that while he is often talking excessively about others, he almost never talks about himself. On the few occasions that he does, he usually gives very little and very vague information. When he is asked about what his family does (in Endless Halloween Night), he gives an evasive response and is able to avoid talking about it because Trey senses Rook is uncomfortable with the topic and distracts Sebek for him. The most we know is that Rook is a middle child, with 2 older siblings and 3 younger ones, and that is it hard for the family to arrange meetings (but when they do, they are lively gatherings).

The most detailed stories we’ve heard from Rook involve his childhood, not present day. He talks about how he used to have trouble expressing his emotions as a child, but that theater helped him improve on that aspect of himself (specifically, he saw Neige in a musical). He also tells Sebek and Trey that he once got lost in the jungle as a child (when he was just 6 years old) and had to survive in the wild until a rescue squad came for him. Referring back to the first bullet point, Rook is extremely hesitant to divulge details of his present day self and family.

He is extremely good at spying on others and avoiding detection while doing it. If you look at Rook’s room, he literally has an entire wall of photographs (most likely that of his classmates), which is poorly concealed behind wallpaper. He is also noted to be swift and able to approach without being noticed. Rook himself also implies that he takes precautions/has preferences which lean toward not being easily detected. For example, he dislikes smelly food like garlic and avoids perfumes because smell can give away his presence. He also has the ability to control his metabolic signs (heart rate, breathing, etc.) so as to not give away any fear or nervousness he may actually be experiencing.

His family is wealthy enough to afford villas all over Twisted Wonderland. Furthermore, these villas are equipped with warp pads. According to Epel, you need border clearances just to install said warp pads, as they allow for instantaneous teleportation from one location to the next (which can span across different countries).

Rook’s Unique Magic, I See You, allows him to “tag” subjects with a spell, thus allowing him to later track down what is “tagged”. The only limitations on this magic seem to be that he cannot track something that transcends dimensions or in places that block magic, as his “tag” requires a spell.

Alright, so... My theory is this: Rook and the Hunts are actually a family of international secret agents. Spies? Even assassins or hitmen, if we want to go the darkest route. Something along those lines. I know it sounds a little far-fetched, but HEAR ME OUT HERE.

(I’ll be the first to admit that we have very little information to go off of, so this theory is relatively shaky, but HEY 😤 I think a secret agent Rook AU would be cool and I’d like to write one anyway, so I might as well explain the thoughts that led to it!)

The most damning piece of evidence here is somehow, Rook’s family has houses all over Twisted Wonderland with warp pads. The warp pads are extremely important here. As Epel states in chapter 6, you need special clearance to even be allowed to install warp pads.

This implies that Rook’s family must somehow be enough of a high status to warrant that clearance—however, they must not be celebrities, royalty, diplomats/politicians, or other public figures. Why? Well, why else would Rook be so secretive about what his family does? If they were wealthy or important public figures, surely someone at NRC would know about them. Whatever the Hunt family does, it is a 1) important work (important enough for that coveted ward pad installation clearance across multiple countries), 2) it crosses the borders of multiple countries, therefore their work is global in scale, 3) said work is done in the shadows and 4) may require a… certain skillset.

Let’s now consider Rook himself, as we know the most about him of the entire Hunt family. Rook boasts immense strength and survival abilities even at a very young age. He also is shown to use his ability to modify his own behavior to manipulate how others perceive him. Do note that he is a normal human, so having such skills in his youth is less likely the result of genetic disposition and more likely the result of teaching and training (similar to Sebek and Silver’s warrior boot camp with Lilia in the Briar Valley). Now, why would his parents feel the need to teach Rook these kinds of things as a child? Maybe they are just an innocent family of huntsmen—but why would they teach Rook how to hunt as a 6 year old? Why would they teach Rook to hunt obviously dangerous (and perhaps endangered) jungle animals? Maybe the Sunset Savanna is an inherently more dangerous place than other areas of Twisted Wonderland. However, if we assume that the Hunts are as wealthy as they are implied them to be, wouldn’t they have the resources to ensure Rook is protected and taken care of at all times? There must have been a good reason for Mama and Papa Hunt to buff baby Rook up, and I think that reason is twofold:

1) If the Hunt family is, indeed, tasked with doing international agent work, they must have enemies that want to find their identities and to take them out/dangers in their actual field of work. It’s better safe than sorry for the Hunt children to be able to protect themselves if they are ever kidnapped or somehow threatened.

2) If we assume the theory is correct or somewhere along the right path, then Rook may one day take on the same job(s) as his parents. In that case, it would be better to get his training started early, when his mind and body are still pliable.

Speaking of being pliable, let’s talk about Rook’s UM, I See You. His Unique Magic, in of itself, is highly suspect. We know from looking at other characters’ Unique Magic that both nature and nurture play into its development, as well as what kind of UM manifests. For example, Riddle’s harsh home schooling/magic training allowed his UM to develop faster than others’. Additionally, because of the stringent focus on rules and imposing them on him, Riddle’s UM became one that also imposed his will on others by sealing their magic and this silencing defiance. Deuce’s UM develops when he finally embraces who himself, even the dumb and reckless parts, thus allowing him to exceed his own limits. Personality and childhood experiences should have also played into Rook developing his UM.

We know that Rook is athletic and has survived in the wilderness from a young age. He also knows a lot of tricks to help him better conceal himself to his prey. Heck, he can even know things like people’s heights just form one glance, and he excels at collecting information on that which interests him. This easily lends itself to the idea that he developed a “tracking” UM because it plays into his whole “huntsman” schtick (and his “NRC weirdo” schtick too). I do believe this to be the case, but consider this: if Rook is supposedly such a skilled huntsman, what would his need for his UM be? Wouldn’t he be able to track down his target and have the element of surprise without the use of magic? Yet Rook regularly stalks classmates of interest without using his UM. Then look at chapter 6–Rook readily cast his tracking magic on Vil before the STYX agents flew off with him. Clearly, this UM is not limited only to animals (as one might think for a “huntsman”), but to actual people as well (humans, too, are “animals”). It makes I See You suspiciously double as a convenient tool for tracking human prey, even as they flee across Twisted Wonderland. The fact that Rook also immediately thought to utilize his UM in such a way tells me either he thinks and reacts fast and/or that he is used to doing this, which is why it was the first thing that came to his mind in such a charged moment.

Another component of this UM that is kind of suspicious are the limitations. Rook states that his UM cannot track something that transcends dimensions or in places that block magic, as his “tag” requires a spell to be cast. Thinking about it, what normal “animal” would think to escape to a new dimension or to go to a place that blocks magic unless it was by total accident. It makes more sense for a creature of reasonable intelligence (like a human target, for example) to do that than a woodland creature. Of course, this could just be a natural limitation of the UM to not make it too overpowered but when you’ve got so little information to work with, I’m forced to extrapolate—

Warning: from hereon out, it’s just me throwing around my own wild ideas with little to no basis in the actual canon 😂

While we may not know much about Rook and his siblings, I think it would be interesting to throw them into the equation as well. I have previously pitched another crack theory where I suggested that Rook and his siblings were named after and represented chess pieces (as the point values line up with Rook being the middle child). IF we take the Hunt sibling chess theory into consideration, then the youngest sibling is the “Pawn”. And do you know what a Pawn can do in chess? They can promote to any other piece (excluding King) if they reach the other side of the board.

How cool would it be if like... when a member of the Hunt family comes of age, they need to pass a test before they’re allowed to officially take on missions like the rest of the family? Maybe the youngest sibling is really struggling to prove themselves because of that. This would actually play nicely into Rook oddly being open about his childhood memories, but not about his present day self. It’s because (going by this logic) Rook technically hadn’t proven himself yet, he hadn’t been promoted to the full status of being a Hunt agent, so he could still enjoy aspects of his childhood—

Okay, okay... It’s way more likely that Hunt family meetings are hard to have because the older siblings and parents have jobs and the younger siblings have schoolwork, but it’d just be more fun if it was actually because they’re all over the world caught up in international espionage or something.

AnOTHER THiNG???? I mentioned in my Hunt siblings chess piece theory that it would be weird if each sibling was literally named after a chess piece, but maybe they’d make more sense as agent names. Maybe “Pawn” is just a blanket term used to refer to any Hunt member that hasn’t passed their test yet, and they “promote” to an actual agent name when they do finally pass! ... But Rook, being Rook, is flashy and just flaunts it as his actual name anyway because he doesn’t care 😂

Overall, the Hunt family and Rook himself are one massive pile of S U S and I would very much like to learn more about them, TWST devs 🥺

TIME TO SPLIT THIS OFF INTO ITS OWN THREAD I THINK LOL -

Anyway, hurray for more agreement with my headcanon! I've said it before and I'll say it again, if Tsupro doesn't want to give the guy lines or explain why he only shows up for 2 seconds at a time then I am simply forced to come up with my own (sad-) explanations 😤 And also, you know, on top of everything else - Leo didn't know that Astra had survived, so it's entirely plausible that until Ultraman King rescued Astra & presumably told him, Astra might not have known that Leo had survived either... It's a lot of trauma for one person, there, so yeah, like you said, anyone would have issues! 😣

As for the horns - it's unclear exactly HOW close L-77 Ultras are to M-78 Ultras biologically... Obviously it's the same Ultra Spark radiation reaching out to L-77 that changed them, but there's some notable differences evident in Leo (& presumably Astra) - like how very little silver is on his body (even red M-78 Ultras like Seven or Taro have a bit more!) and how his time limit on Earth is 2:40'' rather than an even 3 minutes. (Which - rude, Tsupro. Just rude.) It's also unclear whether maybe that's more a personal thing, since we don't exactly have other L-77 Ultras to compare to, buuuut...

Point is: Father of Ultra's horns are canonically what he uses for ESP, so yeah, I'd totally say they're sensory organs, and it's totally reasonable to assume Leo's and past-Astra's horns would be/have been similar. (Maybe that's part of why Leo is so very good at spotting aliens in disguise & other Ultras on sight?) Which, yeah, to have those just sawed off... Especially given that canonically Ultraman King had to do some serious reconstructive work, there's no way that was done in any clean manner... Alien Magma suck.

... and now one of them is Taiga's host's friend/coworker! :V

Ah, the fun of different universes... (Part of me wants to see Leo react to that guy. The rest of me would rather he not have to find out and just be left in peace, lol.)
